Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words
(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to Your Daily Portion with your host,
author speaker Elle David Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good morning, Good morning, Good morning. It is Wednesday, August six,
twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is El David Harris.
I am your host, and this is your Daily Portion
where we give you God's Word every single day and
today is no exception. We are continuing in our Lesson
study series through the Book of Exodus, and our caption
(00:53):
for today is Marching Forward by Faith. Marching Forward by Faith.
Before we get into that, I'd like to say welcome
to you and ask you to go over to your
Daily Portion dot com. Please join our online community, pick
up the Your Daily Portion Life application guide, and also
let us know where you are in the world at
(01:15):
your Daily Portion dot Com. This is one of the
ways that we continue to build faith and fellowship. Let's
go ahead and pray, and then we will get underway. Father,
we thank you, thank you for giving us forward motion,
forward toward all things that matter to you. One day
we know that we will be forward and upward. We'll
(01:37):
be able to live with you eternally. Please teach us
to prepare now in Jesus name, I pray, Amen and
Amen again. We're marching forward, forward, onward to Zion, beautiful,
beautiful Zion. I'm looking forward to the day that we
don't have to do these lessons anymore. As much as
(01:58):
I enjoy this, I've been doing this or a variation
of it for decades, but I look forward to the
day that we will be face to face with God.
We will be in heavenly places, and then the earth
made new like I'm looking forward to that day. Until then,
let's go ahead and march together. We're going into the
(02:19):
Bible book of Exodus chapter fourteen. Exodus chapter fourteen, and
I will read verse thirteen, and the Bible reads and
Moses said, unto the people, fear not, fear not stand still.
That's one command, fear not. Second command, stand ye still
(02:40):
and then see the salvation of the Lord. Ooh, somebody
needs to fear. Not right now, someone needs to realize
that motion just because you're frantic and don't know what
to do, and you're just I have to do something.
Taking it into your own hands is not the answer
to your prayer. It is to stand still. But not
(03:01):
just to stand still, but stand still for the purpose
of seeing, discerning, experiencing the salvation of the Lord, which
he will show to you. Not that we will mindlessly
and frantically hope that well is this it?
Speaker 1 (03:19):
God? No? Is this it?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
And and then ah, and then you see the anxiety here. No,
He will show to you the day today, for the
Egyptians whom ye have seen today. See this as whatever
barrier this is, whatever separates you from optimal experience with God,
(03:41):
whatever is binding you, whatever the addiction is huh, whatever
the bad habit is, whatever the sin besetting sin is,
whatever the break in your mindset is. See this as
the Egyptians today. For the Egyptians whom ye have seen today,
ye shall see eat them again, know more. And in
(04:03):
case you don't know what no more means forever. So immediately,
immediately I want you to reflect on a moment where
you doubt it God, doubt it, but God came through anyway.
I don't know if you've doubted, because not everybody has
that spiritual gene. I just made that up. That doesn't exist.
(04:24):
But there are people who who do doubt, or on
occasion doubt. But just reflect on a moment where you
have doubted, but God came through anyway. And I want
you to not just reflect on it. I want you
to write it down, type it with your two thumbs
in your phone or whatever it is. Write it down,
and thank Him for being faithful even though you doubted
(04:49):
him and you were afraid. Number two comes in from
Exodus chapter fourteen, verses fifteen and sixteen, and the Bible reads,
and the Lord said, unto Moses, wherefore criest thou unto me,
speak unto the children of Israel, that they go which
way forward, not backward forward? But lift thou up thy
(05:15):
rod and stretch out thine hand over the sea. And
guess what God is saying to him to do? Now
divide it. We need to see where God gave the
command that we're to don't not fear. We're to stand
still and see what God is about to do. Don't complain.
(05:37):
Don't complain. There's no need to complain because I've already
given you the blueprint. Just follow wherever I lead. Now,
don't complain, Moses. Why are you worrying? Moses? The people
are in your ears, Moses. The mountains are on on
either side, the Egyptians are behind you. And the only
obstacle between you and the freedom that I have already
(05:57):
begun is this little sea. You're just worried about this
little sea. Come on, in the minds of the people.
I want you to stretch forth your hand and then
divide it. See, trusting God means moving forward, even if
the way is not very clear to you. I said
to you. See, we need the vision of God, like
(06:18):
when God is healing blind eyes in twenty twenty five.
It's not only for people who have actual problems with
their retina, their cornea, whatever other thing that's going on
in their eyes. The organ called the eyes is e
an organ I don't know whatever eyes are not just that.
(06:40):
But our vision sometimes is skewed based on the sinful
world we live in. Our vision is often skewed based
on our experiences and our perception of those experiences, and
so what God is saying here is that Moses had
to act before the sea parted, otherwise the sea wouldn't
(07:01):
have parted. And I know that's very logical, but if
you're standing in front of us sea, have you ever
been to the sea like I live in the Caribbean.
I see the Caribbean Sea on a regular basis. I
can't imagine standing over Lover's leap, forget over Lover's leap,
going down that that hm, I don't know, going down
(07:22):
that hill, and then standing there where those waves are crashing,
and God saying, lift up your rod, David, And I'm
expecting that the sea is going to open up, so
the so lovers leap that side. That's south coast, so
going to South amesa straight through to South America. I
can't imagine that. Honestly, my mind is not able to
(07:44):
really make sense of that. But does it matter? So
the action step is take one uncomfortable step this week.
Really today is better if you just do it today,
like in a few minutes, Like take that uncomfortable step
that reflects your trust in God's direction, even if the
outcome is not yet visible. Ask God for his vision.
(08:08):
Number three and final comes in from Exodus, chapter fourteen
and verse thirty. The Bible reads, thus the Lord saved
God's people Israel that day out of the hand of
the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore.
God didn't just delay the enemy. He didn't just hold
(08:30):
them back like. He didn't just put like a cloud
between them, or a pillar of fire or something between them.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Like.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
He didn't make them just hear some stuff and confuse them.
Not this time, He completely removed them because they chose
not to love Love. Those marauders decided not to love
love the enemies of God's people, and God decided that
they did not want the mercy of God. And so
(08:59):
his salvation is complete and final. The action step is
trust God to finish what he starts. I think the
Bible says, he who began a good work in you
is able to complete it. Huh. He will keep whatever
you surrender to him until the day of Jesus's appearing.
(09:19):
Name one burden you have been holding onto, and now
release it to him in prayer today, believing it's not
just delayed but destroyed. That burden can be lifted at
Calvary beginning right now, march forward in faith, fear not.
(09:41):
God is with you. Make it a great day peace.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening. Friends. Always remember we cannot
live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God. This has been your daily
portion with El David Harris. Make it a great day. Yeah.
