Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words
(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to Your Daily Portion with your host,
author speaker, Elle David Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good morning, Good morning, Good morning. It is Sunday, August seventeen,
twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is El David Harris.
I am your host, and this is your Daily Portion
where we give you God's Word every single day, and
today is no exception. We are continuing in our Lesson
study series through the Book of Exodus, and our caption
for today is at Mount Sinai. At Mount Sinai. We'll
(00:58):
get into that in just a moment, but first I'd
like to say welcome to you and ask you to
go over to your Daily Portion dot com. Please join
our online community, pick up the Your Daily Portion Life
application guide, and let us know where you are in
the world. At your Daily Portion dot com. This is
one of the ways that we continue to build faith
(01:18):
and fellowship. Let's go ahead and pray. Father, we thank
you for this Sunday morning and giving us the opportunity
to work and make a contribution in the world. Whether
we volunteer or we are gainfully employed or both. We
have the privilege of going into the world and helping
people get closer to You while we do our mundane tasks.
(01:40):
Help us to remember you every moment of these days.
In Jesus name, I pray Amen and Amen again at
Mount Sinai. Oh my, so much happened at Mount Sinai,
and we have so little time. So let's just keep
it very simple today and start out by reading from
(02:00):
Exodus chapter nineteen, and I'll read a few of the verses.
Between verses one and eight, I will read three, four, five,
and six. Let's go with that from the King James
version of the Bible, and it reads, and Moses went
up unto God, and the Lord called unto him out
of the mountains, saying, so now God is speaking directly
(02:24):
to Moses. You have seen what I did unto the Egyptians.
So the first thing that you need to recognize. Besides
the fact that God is speaking, he has honored humanity
by letting humanity hear his voice in this case through
the person of Moses. But he's also letting his voice
(02:46):
be made known after he kept his promise. He said,
I'm going to deliver my people. He said that Pharaoh
is going to let my people go. And now he's
speaking again. And now the people of God need to
be keenly interested and queued in what is God going
(03:07):
to say? Okay, so now he's speaking to Moses. I
did what I said I was going to do unto
the Egyptians, and how I bear you on eagles wings
and brought you. I said this yesterday unto myself. Now, therefore,
if ye will obey my voice, he God is saying,
I have a requirement of you. Now he's always had it,
(03:28):
but he's he's giving Moses a revelation. Now I have
this requirement. I have gotten you out of the bondage
and oppression that you were in. I heard your moanings,
I saw all that you were going through. I made
a promise. I kept it. Now as I have brought
you to myself, I need you to obey my voice
(03:50):
indeed and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a
peculiar treasure unto me above all people. For all the
earth is mine. And so there are times that people
say that they're number one. I happen to work with
the number one motivational speaker of the world and in
(04:11):
the world, and he actually is. He actually is, and
beyond that and even more than that. That's true, But
there are many times that people on the planet have
identified themselves as the best, as the number one, this
the top of that, and it's like, well, based on
what well et he can base this on his experience
(04:32):
and what the people that he has been serving have
been saying. And it is definitely true that he's indeed
and in fact what we know him to be the
number one in this reality in this regard. But there
are many times that people don't have the data, they
have no idea. But God is saying, I have all
the receipts, everything and every human on the planet is mine,
(04:56):
and I'm saying that You're going to be the peculiar
treasure above all people. I know all people because I
created all people. My eyes are still going to and
fro in the earth. I still see all people. I
have all of the data, all of the earth is mine,
(05:17):
and I'm saying I'm gonna set you above all of them,
and ye shall be verse six, you shall be unto me,
a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. You will
be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. This
is God speaking. And so from the book Patriarchs and Prophets,
page three hundred and eleven. Had Israel obeyed the words
(05:41):
of the Angel, they would have been preserved from every foe.
God had pledged himself to be their protector. Obedience to
his law would make them marvels of prosperity before the
nations of the world. So I said yesterday that we
see what not to do. If you think you stand,
take heed lest you fall. Look at the things that
(06:03):
the people of God did as they made mistake after mistake,
unforced error after unforced error, harden their hearts when they
shouldn't have. But we do see examples of people who said, yes, Lord, yes,
so you're willing to your way, I'm going to do
exactly what you have said. They lived as a peculiar treasure.
(06:26):
And so the words peculiar treasure means a private, treasured
possession God. You know God possesses his people distinct from
the common property. You realize that you're not common if
you are God's child. Kings used this word to described
their most cherished belongings. Jesus said that because He gave
(06:50):
his life for you, you are his, and He cherishes you
above all things and all people on the earth. Kingdom
of priests, Kingdom of priests. Well, what does this mean?
A nation set apart for direct service to God and
to represent him to others. So you are his cherished
(07:11):
treasure and your purpose is as you are set apart
for service to God, you represent him. You are God's ambassador.
Do you understand now you're calling the reason even though
you have gone through all of those trials and tribulations,
even though maybe your earthly parents weren't what they should
have been, maybe they were, thank God if they were.
(07:34):
No matter where you came from, was it the palace
or the ghetto, like or worse, it doesn't matter where
you came from, because God has cherished you, empowered you
delivered you, put you into His service directly so you
would be his ambassador. M m. Yes, your passport in
(07:57):
the universe is diplomatic in nature, you have diplomatic immunity.
From a spiritual perspective, you understand you are a holy nation,
a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. Yes,
you have been called out of darkness into this marvelous light.
This is the calling that God has on all of
(08:20):
our lives. If we're his, Yes, and so you're not
your own. God bought you with a price on purpose
to himself. God's calling includes responsibility. Now you're his ambassador.
You need to live like an ambassador of God, speak
like an ambassador of God, Encounter and experience people as
(08:42):
if you represent the king of the universe, because in fact,
and indeed you do, He didn't just deliver his people,
He gave them a role to represent him. God still
wants holy people. There's plenty good room in the kingdom.
I remember the song back in the day when I
was a child, plenty good room in the kingdom. He's
(09:03):
rescuing the perishing, Yes, and so I know that he's
rescuing people. But he's also asking us, by his power,
commanding us in fact, to be holy. For the Lord,
our God is holy. Obedience is not legalism, It's not
it really isn't. God gives us the privilege to love,
(09:26):
and it flows from that covenant loyalty. Finally, God promised relationship, identity,
and purpose. He didn't just save the people from Egypt,
but he brought them unto himself. The goal was more
than the promised land. It was to become ambassadors of
Almighty God himself.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
