Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words

(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,

your Daily Portion dot com. Let's go ahead and pray
and then get underway. Father, We thank you for the
privilege of your word and the fact that you prepare us.
You prepare us for the heavenly gift of the Holy Ghost,
prepare us for relationship with you, help us to receive

(02:21):
it by faith in Jesus' name. I pray, Amen and
Amen again. We're preparing for the gift, the gift in
this case is God's transcript of his character. And there
is a promise instilled really with this transcript that we

(02:42):
become like him as he writes that same transcript upon
our characters. You understand. Yeah, the ten Commandments law. Let's
go ahead and begin reading from Exodus chapter nineteen, and
I will read a few verses between nineteen and twenty five.
Let's go with nine. I mean between nine and twenty five.

(03:04):
Let's go with nine, ten, eleven, twelve, sixteen, and eighteen.
And I'll read some of those verses. We'll read not
all of it. We won't read it all. And the
Bible reads, and the Lord said, unto Moses, Lo, I
come unto THEE in a thick cloud, that the people
may hear when I speak to THEE. So God wants

(03:25):
his people to see the encounter that he has with Moses,
because it's not to make Moses some kind of elite
human being who has special privileges that nobody has. Because
he's already established the fact that he's going to make
his people peculiar above all people on the earth. He

(03:45):
said that they will be a treasure. He will bring
them unto himself. He said that they would be his
ambassador's representatives on the entire planet. And so God is
now saying, I'm going to bring Moses close to me.
You can see what your relationship is supposed to look like.
What's your experience with me? Indeed, and in fact is

(04:06):
to look like. Because I am drawing you unto myself.
Now hear my voice. He hear my voice, and he
says that the people may hear that I when I
speak to thee verse ten, sanctify them today. So God
is preparing them for the gift and tomorrow. And let
them wash their clothes and be ready against the third day.

(04:29):
For the third day the Lord will come down in
the sight of all people Verse twelve. And thou shalt
set bounds unto the people. Take heed to yourselves that
ye go not up into the mount nor touch the
border of it. I wish I could show you the
sanctuary blueprint right here. Before Moses even goes up the mountain,

(04:52):
we see the sanctuary blueprint. There is a border at
the base. Something happens at the base. There are some
that go into the middle or the space in the
mount and they stop there and they are doing something there.
And then there are some just a couple who go
beyond that. And then Moses goes into the cloud. The
sanctuary is clearly seen there. I just literally don't have

(05:14):
the time today to deal with that. But in the
book Patriarchs and Prophets, pages three hundred three to three
hundred five, I'll read a little bit of it. In
obedience to the divine command, Moses made known to the
people that the Lord would reveal himself. They must be
sanctified and their garments washed. So when people say that

(05:38):
cleanliness is next to godliness, that is true. I need
my son to get that. He's like, all, well, I
shouldn't say, ah, many children, many children. He's still learning that.
There are some of you adults still learning that. Right
on the morning of the third day, as they approached
the mount they beheld a dense cloud enveloping the mountain

(06:02):
and heard the deep sound of the trumpet. God designed
to impress them with the sacredness of his law and
the awe of his presence. And so she explains, God
used the visible glory. Where is Norman, Niles, where are
you are you listening to me? I said, Glory, Come on, Norman,

(06:22):
start to worship now, She explains, God how he used
the visible glory and physical distance to teach reverence and holiness.
It wasn't casual, it was covenantal. I said, this experience
was not casual, It was covenantal to sanctify. This is

(06:43):
what he did to his people to set aside, to consecrate,
to prepare for a holy use. This is a spiritual
readiness that God is giving. Okay, And so there were
bounds set, a boundary or limit, a border. God marked
a c separation between the divine and the common. God

(07:05):
actually said it in the Book of Malachi as he
was talking about tides and offerings and relationship with God.
He said that he listens to the people of God.
He listens to the testimony that they give the world,
and some of them are lying witnesses, and they're saying,
what's the use of worshiping God? What is the use
of giving all to Him? And then he says, I've

(07:25):
heard this, but I've also heard faithful people. I've heard
faithful people and they are a witness. I've written it
down in the book, and they are a witness for me,
and I'm going to draw a line in the sand.
He didn't say it in those words, But it's there
a line of demarcation to identify. On one side of
that line, those are the people who worship me and

(07:47):
who are faithful, who give a faithful report about me,
and then the others are not mine. I'm going to
show who are mine. And so we've already identified that
they were sanctified, and they were to wash their clothes,
they were to abide within limits, and they were to approach,

(08:10):
not cross the line, but approach with reverence. And then
those who were ushered in step by step into His presence,
they were to go there. So it wasn't a sermon
that we're reading about. No, it's the divine meeting that
God has orchestrated in preparation for transformation. Well, how do

(08:33):
we apply that to our lives today? Holiness still requires preparation.
We don't just rush in. We don't rush into the
presence of God. We don't stumble and bumble into the
presence of God. We enter with intention, we enter with humility,
We enter with purity. Can we purify ourselves? Well know,

(08:54):
But we can submit to the process of God as
He purifies us ha And so boundaries sacredness, God's presence
is accessible but it's never casual. So when you come
into his presence, you don't come in casually to just
kick it with God, like to just lying. You go

(09:16):
in there understanding that He is the true and Living God,
Blessed be his name, and he is holy. Yes he
wants to be our friend, Yes he wants to dwell
among us, but he is still He is still God
and God alone. If we want God to speak clearly,
then we create a space within our own lives for reverence, reflection,

(09:39):
and cleansing. Make it a great day, Peace.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening. Friends. Always remember we cannot
live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God. This has been your daily
portion with El David Harris. Make it a great day. Yeah,
