Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words
(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to your Daily Portion with your host
author speaker, Elle David Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good afternoon and happy lunchtime. It is Monday, September fifteen,
twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is El David Harris.
I am your host, and this is your Daily Portion.
It's the Life Application Lunch and Learn. If you want
to say yes, yes, yes, And we are continuing in
(00:54):
our lesson study through the Book of Exodus, and our
caption for today is that I may oh you. And
for our regular viewers and listeners, I just want to
give you an understanding of what this is. We have
the Life Application Guide. You can go to your Daily
Portion dot com and pick that up, but we seldom
(01:15):
have an opportunity to even read it in the mornings
when we're studying our lesson together, and so this is
an opportunity for you to hear it and you become
acquainted with it and apply the truth that we talk
about every single morning. One caveat though we don't broadcast
this lunchtime edition on Sabbath's Okay, So we're here Sunday
(01:38):
to Friday, and of course seven days a week in
the morning for our actual study. Okay. So hopefully that
makes sense to you, and we'll do this until we
are clear whether it is finally getting traction or we
need to just say no, no, no, no, We'll only
deal with the morning time, okay. So pick up your
pick up your Life Application guide at your Daily Portion
(02:01):
dot com. Let's go ahead and pray, Father, thank you
for giving us this afternoon time that we can reflect
and apply. In Jesus' name, I pray Amen and Amen again,
and so I'm not going to reteach the lesson. We
did that this morning, but just remember the context is
that Moses wanted to make sure that he knew God
(02:26):
and that God knew him, and that was Jesus's prayer.
He said, this is life eternal, that they may know
thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou
hast sent. Okay, so we are applying it based on
what we studied this morning spiritual application, and we're using
the whin acronym again every single day. That's what we're
(02:48):
doing and for spiritual application. What's important now, Growth with
God always includes a deeper hunger to know Him personally.
Think we need to drill that that's the reality, internalize
the insight. Moses had already seen God's power, but he
(03:08):
still asked, show me your way that I may know you.
Knowing God is not just collecting facts. That's something that
we're accustomed to, which is why we have the life
application God, because you know, we're good at the people
who are believers are good at collecting facts and using
(03:29):
inspirational things and information. But what we need is the
same thing that Moses was looking for. It is entering
into a deeper fellowship that is a two way relationship.
The more you encounter God, the more you realize how
much more of Him there is to know. Aren't you
(03:51):
glad that God is limitless? Aren't you glad that there
is so much more to know and love? Aren't you
glad that God does not have in terms of his
ability to transform you. Let me not preach it. Let's
go to the next best move today. Do not only
ask for things in prayer. God wants us to ask.
(04:13):
He wants us to ask. In fact, I remember a quote.
I think it's from Steps to Christ's Book, page forty nine.
I can't remember for sure, but it says God, it
is the will of God to grant an answer to
the prayer of faith that which He would not bestow.
Did we not thus ask? So God wants us to ask? Okay,
(04:34):
but we want to ask God to show more of
his character. Seek to know his heart and not only
his hand. Isn't there a song that says that? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So we're going on now to personal application. Go ahead
and type in the chat which one of these applications
will you focus on? Is it going to be spiritual,
(04:55):
personal relationships or professional? Okay, so we're going to personal. Now.
What is important now? You grow spiritually when you seek
to know who God is and not only what he
can do. Internalize the insight. Moses's experience teaches that spiritual
(05:16):
maturity is not measured by how long you've walked with God.
You know some of the old church people used to say,
I've been in the way how many years?
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Right?
Speaker 2 (05:28):
And that was supposed to be a way that we
would congratulate one another. Well, okay, not just measured that way,
but how much you long for Him every day? How
much more do you long for God every single day?
Not just talking about you got baptized fifty years ago,
and I think most of the people who are watching,
(05:49):
most of you who are watching, about seventy four percent
of those who are watching me in the morning time
and listening on the radio probably got baptized about sixty
years ago. How long have you been in the way?
That's wonderful, But how much more do you long for him?
I'm talking about today? And then, of course, the next
(06:09):
best move set aside personal time to ask God one
simple question. I think you can guess it. Show me
your glory God. Please let that prayer become part of
your personal devotional time. Now we're going to the relationship's application.
What is important now? Your hunger for God will influence
(06:31):
how you serve others. M hmm. Some of those posts
that people do on social media, Yeah, if we had
a hunger and a thirst after righteousness, some of those
posts we would never even put out. We just never would.
Those are arguments and retorts we would never put out
if we had a hungering and a thirsting after God.
So this will show how we're an influence, really, how
(06:54):
we serve others. I internalize the insight. The closer moses
God to God, the better he could lead, intercede, and
serve Israel. Your deepening relationship with God equips you to
handle the people you are called to lead and to love.
(07:14):
I have a couple of leadership positions right currently, and
I'm asking God on a regular basis, please will you
show me how to do it like you did when
Solomon said, God, these are your people? How am I
going to lead this your people? Give me wisdom? And
I ask God actually on a daily basis, Lord, give
(07:35):
me double the wisdom that you gave to Solomon. Okay,
And then, of course, the next best move pray specifically
for God to shape your heart so you reflect him
more clearly. Oh, in your family, those are the people
that are your first ministry, your family, your friendships, and
(07:58):
of course your leaderships. Finally, finally, did you type in
the chat which one of these applications you're going to
focus on today and now comes the professional application. What
is important now, Effective leadership flows from intimacy with God.
Intimacy with God, we're talking about a nearness with God. Ah,
(08:20):
there is a place of quiet rest near to the
heart of God, a place where sins cannot molest, near
to the heart of God. Oh, Jesus, Blessed Redeemer. Aha,
see you what I'm saying, sent from the heart of God. Oh,
give us those who wait before you closer, Get us
closer God to your own heart. Okay, And so we
(08:42):
internalize the insight. Moses's desire to know God was not
only personal, it directly affected how he led. So yes,
we apply this personally, but if we're having interactions at
work or in our businesses, or in even education, this
is what we need to do. Like, how is this
(09:04):
affecting the connection with the people and how I actually
lead the people. There are four leadership styles. I wish
I had the time to deal with those. Your professional clarity,
your patience, and wisdom come from knowing God to your core.
And then the next best move before making major decisions,
(09:26):
pause to pray, Lord, teach me your ways so I
may lead according to your heart. Again again. Choose one
of the ways today to apply the study that we
do in the morning. And yeah, we'll see you again
two times tomorrow if the Lord spars life peace.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening. Friends. Always remember we cannot
live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God. This has been your daily
portion with El David Harris. Make it a great day. Yeah,
