Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna, the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words
(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to your Daily Portion with your host,
author speaker, Elle David Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Hello, good afternoon, good afternoon, good afternoon, and happy lunchtime.
It is Thursday, September eighteen, twenty twenty five. Hello, my
name is El David Harris. I am your host, and
this is your Daily Portion where we give you God's
word every single day, and today is no exception. Arm
We are continuing in our Lesson study series through the
(00:55):
Book of Exodus and our caption for it, this afternoon
is the Shining Face of Moses. The Shining Face of Moses.
I'm going to explain to those who are not aware
what this is. Our morning broadcast that's been going on
for years and years on hundreds of radio stations and
then online platforms. Et cetera. That is how we study
(01:19):
God's word together, and this is how we apply it.
We do some application, but not enough in the morning time.
And this is a test, like until September twenty six.
I'm testing this lunchtime edition and if it is successful,
we will continue it into the Book of Joshua. If not,
(01:39):
then we'll just keep with our mourning broadcast and that'll
be the end of it. Anyway, the basis of it
you can find at your Daily Portion dot com. Pick
up the Life Application Guide and if again this is successful,
will continue to test and see your participation. If it's successful,
we will continue for the foreseeable future. But again, September
(02:03):
twenty six is our is the day that we determine
whether this will continue or not. Okay, so let's go
ahead and pray and get underway. Father, We thank you
for the privilege of coming together and applying your word. Now, Father,
please give us wisdom for this day and teach us
to truly live what we learn in Jesus name, I pray,
(02:26):
Amen and a man Again, So how do we know
if this is going to be successful? Well, you continue
to click share share this program, Share the afternoon program
just like you've done for your daily portion proper. Okay.
So we're going to apply in four key areas. Which
one of those areas are you applying specifically? Okay, So
(02:48):
let's go with spiritual application to get us kicked off.
We're using the WIN acronym or framework. What is important now,
God's revealed character transforms us from the inside out. God's
revealed character transforms us from the inside out. I internalize
(03:15):
the inside. Moses's face shone because he fully embraced God's
goodness and his kindness. It isn't a mere presence, but
a deep surrender to God's character that brought that transformation.
Like Moses, we become radiant. Do people say that you're radiant?
You know you're not pregnant, brother sister, you know that
(03:37):
you're beyond child bearing years, or you're too young, or
you know what, You're just not pregnant. But people say
you're glowing. Well, I hope it's the power of God
through your life. I wish I had the time, but
that is the reality. Like Moses, we become radiant when
we open our hearts to God's love and grace, letting
(04:00):
him shape us. Next best move, ask God to reveal
where you resist his transforming work. Is that a reality?
Maybe you don't, but if it is, ask him to
reveal that, then surrender those areas to him in daily prayer. Yeah,
you might need to write the list down like God
(04:21):
may be saying this is the way that you do X,
Y or Z, and I need you to do it
this other way. Write that stuff down and then ask
God to show you how to surrender that daily in prayer.
Now we go in for the personal application. What is
important now? What is important now? Transformation is a gradual
(04:41):
process of becoming like Jesus. Now, I want to be
very clear here, I'm not giving an excuse for us
to drag our spiritual feet right. You know I'm growing
and still be disrespectful in our daily experiences with people.
You feel me like, don't use this gradual concept as
an excuse to lag behind. God is able to do
(05:05):
things instantly. He told the woman caught in the very
act of adult I wish I had time to really
deal with that. But those men were foul. But he
told her to go because he did not condemn her
and sin no more. His biddings are enablings. We don't
have to take forever to learn how to do what
God has us to do. Anyway, let's continue internalize the
(05:29):
insight personally. Paul reminds us that the Holy Ghost works
as we fix our eyes on Jesus. This ongoing process
means that every part of our character can be molded
by His grace. I should say must be molded by
His grace. The Cross reminds us that we are forgiven
(05:53):
and empowered to change. So you can't say that I
was born analytical and when you overanalyze, over analyze it,
you can't say, well that's just the way I am. No, no, no, no.
God can show you how you can prize progress over perfection.
You know what I'm saying, Like I wish I had
(06:13):
the time to go through that, But every single day
we can improve in even our personal development. What is
the next best move? Choose one personal habit or attitude
that does not reflect God's character and invite the spirit
the Holy Ghost to begin transforming it this week. Are
(06:37):
you messy? And I mean that literally, I'm not trying
to be philosophical here, Like you leave mess all over
the place. That's not a godly attribute. Ask God to
help you fix that. Do you do you interact with
people in a sloppy way where you just expect them
to come on to your side of the discussion and
you just leave it that way because after all, they
(06:59):
know how you are. Yeah, that's not a godly attribute.
Yield back to God before I start preaching. Let's go
to the next best move. Choose one personal habit or
attitude that does not reflect God's character and invite the
Holy Ghost to transform that. I did say that a
moment ago. Now we're going to relationships application. What is
(07:20):
important now? Your character shapes how you relate to others.
Duh by their fruits, Jesus said, you will know them,
internalize the insight. A transformed character manifests kindness, patience, humility,
and love. Others experience God's presence through you as you
(07:44):
reflect his image in everyday interactions. Can I just say,
when I am on travel, I'm talking about on air
line travel, going on the airplane somewhere, I always wear
a shirt that says be kind. I am reminding myself
to be kind and those with whom I interact to
(08:04):
do the same. And I promise you it has. It
has been so beneficial because that is a stressful situation.
I do not like traveling. I do not like getting
on airplanes. Not because I'm afraid something's gonna happen to
the airplane. I don't really care about my own experience
that way. But it's so stressful timelines and all of
(08:26):
these bazillions of people and is it gonna be delayed?
Or is that your seat even though you paid for
it and they say no, it's not anymore, you know
what I mean? Like that kind of stuff. So be
kind helps remind me to be kind and hopefully helps
other people to treat me in a kind way. Next
best move, look for one person you interact with regularly
(08:48):
and intentionally demonstrate one aspect of God's character in your
next encounter. I choose kindness. That's the big one for me.
What is yours? Go ahead and type it into chat
in fact, like, what is the actual of God's character
that you want to reflect? Specifically? Now, professional before we
come to a swift close. What is important now? Leadership
(09:09):
is about reflecting God's glory through integrity and grace. Internalize
that insight. When leaders embrace God's transforming power, their work
reflects the glory of Christ. This inspires trust and foster's
growth in teams and organizations. What's your next best move
(09:30):
to reflect in your leadership style, which traits demonstrate God's
character and which of those need refining. You'll have to
answer that peace.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Friends.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Always remember we cannot live by bread alone, but by
every word that comes from the mouth of God. This
has been your daily portion with El David Harris. Make
it a great day. Yeah,
