Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too much,
because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy for
today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect yesterday's
portion of heavenly manna, the word of God to keep
us through today's challenges. On this program, we are going
to change all of that. Let's experience God's words today

(00:23):
and receive the power we need to live healthy, vibrant lives.
Welcome to your Daily Portion with your host, author speaker
Elle David Harris.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good morning, of morning, Good morning, it is Tuesday. It's
September twenty three, twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is
El David Harris. I am your host, and this is
your Daily Portion where we give you God's word every
single day, and today is no exception. We are continuing
for the final week in our Lesson study series through
the Book of Exodus, and our caption for today is

(00:55):
the Tabernacle Built, The Tabernacle Built. Get into that in
just a moment, But first i'd like to say welcome
to everyone joining us, especially those joining us for the
very first time. I'd like you to go over to
your Daily Portion dot com. Please join our online community,
pick up the your Daily Portion Life Application guide, and

(01:17):
please fill up the little form to let us know
where you are in the world at your Daily Portion
dot com. This is one of the ways that we
continue to build faith and fellowship. Let's go ahead and
pray and then get underway. Father, We thank you, thank
you for this new day and for the privilege we
have to build the temple, building up the temple, building

(01:40):
up the Temple of the Lord. Please help us, brother,
will you join us? That's what we sing to each
other's sister. Won't you help us building up the Temple
of the Lord. Help us to live that generosity concept
where it comes to your work. In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen and a man and again. The Tabernacle built, well,

(02:03):
how was the Tabernacle built? I think we scratched the
surface of it yesterday. And if you read through your
lesson study, the actual lesson study, you saw some details
about how the things that God's people were called to
give freely, and in fact they did to the point
of over a flow, over abundance that they were physically

(02:25):
and beautifully appointed in the actual physical structure that we
call the tabernacle or the sanctuary, isn't that wonderful, and
so Moses carefully constructed the tabernacle, and the instructions he
had received from God from God on Mount Sinai, he
diligently implemented them. And then, of course we can see

(02:46):
the details in today's lesson about the how the how. Okay,
And so we go now into Exodus chapter thirty nine,
Exodus chapter thirty nine and verse forty two. And let
me just say, while you're looking for that passage that
the House of God in twenty twenty five. When I
say the house, I'm talking about the physical structure. We
know that God is not to struct limited to structures

(03:10):
that are made with hands. We already know that. We
know that the sanctuary as it was in the Old Testament,
that is an Old Testament concept. We know that. But
if we are selecting a space where God is to
be lifted up and God is to be worshiped, God
is to be glorified, it needs to look like it.

(03:30):
It needs to sound like it, it needs to feel
like it. Our houses cannot be so beautiful and well appointed,
and then the House of God be in disrepair. Yes,
I'm talking about the physical structure. And so in verse
forty two. According to all the Lord commanded Moses, so
did the children of Israel make the work. Every part

(03:51):
of the tabernacle, every part of the Tabernacle was built
exactly as God had shown. And for those of you
who are analytical and detailed, like I am, in what
we call the flight assessment doctor Eric Thomas's flight assessment,
that is a behavior style. It's a psycho psychometric tool

(04:12):
to help us to understand our preferences and in our
limitations too. Yeah. Yeah, if you're analytical, you're an air
traffic control in that paradigm. And those individuals see all
of the details and we get all excited about it.
If there's a way to get excited as an ATC,
I wish I had the time. But the point is

(04:33):
that analytical people with analytical gifts given by the Holy
Ghost are in use in this reality. Yes there are
people who are more direct and are more demanding in
a positive sense. Yes, there are more people who are
servant minded, in service minded. Yes there are people who
are more in your face in a positive way and welcoming,

(04:56):
Like on Sabbath morning, you'll have someone giving the welcome.
Hopefully it'll be someone who's welcoming. Who is the life
of the holy ghost party. We're not talking about parties
where we do stuff that ain't right. We're talking about
in God's presence. Yes, and so in this case, the
analytical ones are now given this work to do things

(05:17):
with excruciating for some people precision. Not because God is arbitrary, though,
but because each part reflects his character in the plan
of salvation. Oh my, if we were to drill the
details of the sanctuary service, then we would see the
detail at which God has planned the salvation that He's

(05:42):
given to us. So your action step is to approach
God's instructions with the same care and respect. Don't say
that the details don't matter. Don't say that it's boring,
because then you'll treat it like it's boring. Say don't
say what's the big deal, because then you won't see
it as a big deal. You understand, So the details

(06:05):
really do matter. Not to earn anything from God. But
when God gives you details, he says, put the blood
over the door post and on the lentil, and at
a certain time, and to stand with your staff in
your hand and your loins girt and eat hastily. Get
ready because you'll be thrust out of this land of Egypt.

(06:25):
Then if you miss the detail, then you're gonna miss
your deliverance. I wish somebody was listening to me this morning.
If you miss the details and make it seem as
if they don't matter, then you'll also miss the deliverance.
I think I'll just move on now, approach God's instructions
with that same care and respect, knowing that obedience shows
love and trust in God. Now, from the Book of Hebrews,

(06:48):
chapter eight and verse five, we read who serve unto
the example and shadow of heavenly things? As Moses was
admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle,
For see saith he that thou make all things according
to the pattern showed to thee in the mount. God

(07:12):
gave the pattern the daily, the yearly services illustrated Christ's sacrifice.
Can you imagine if some people decided to say, what's
the big deal when these implements, these realities, these instructions,
these blueprints, and all of the appointments in the sanctuary
reality If they said, what's the big deal? Now we

(07:33):
know that they represent aspects of Christ's sacrifice and ministry.
That is the big deal. God commanded it. That is
the big deal. And so it illustrated Christ's sacrifice for
our sins and his ongoing ministry in heaven. I wish
I had the time to deal with the most holy

(07:55):
placed ministry that Jesus is actually actively in today. I
wish I had the time. But the reality is that
God is very specific when he gives his instructions, so
no one need to be in the dark. So your
step forward today in that regard is to study the
Sanctuary message in the Old Testament. Study everything related to

(08:16):
the Sanctuary Ah to deepen your understanding of Jesus' ministry
for you now and in the future. And now we
move on to the Book of Psalms. The Book of Psalms,
the more praise oriented, the people who are more expressive
are looking forward to this. And in the Psalms Chapter

(08:39):
one hundred, we read in verse four, enter into his
gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise, be
thankful unto him and bless his name. Even some of
you introverts, I'm an introvert. Believe it or not, I am.
I am an introvert. Yeah, some of you may not

(08:59):
be as vocally expressive or visually expressive or effulgent, or
whatever way you want to put it. But the fact
is that God has welcomed us into His gates with thanksgiving.
Have you ever been delivered from anything? Brothers and sisters.
Has God delivered you from that sin habit you couldn't shake? Ah?
Has God? Has God saved your children? Has He saved

(09:23):
your parents? Has He delivered you from a mindset that
was in the way? If so, then make worship today
a priority and tomorrow with the Lord of Spayar's life,
not just on the Sabbath, but intentionally entering God's presence
with gratitude and praise, and then watch Him work in

(09:44):
your life. Peace.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening. Friends, Always remember we cannot
live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God. This has been your daily
portion with el David Harris, Make it a great day. Yeah,

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
