Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words

(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to Your Daily Portion with your host,
author speaker Elle David Harris.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good morning, of morning, Good morning. It is Wednesday at
September twenty four, twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is
El David Harris. I am your host, and this is
your Daily Portion where we give you God's word every
single day, and today is no exception. We are continuing
in our Lesson study series through the Book of Exodus,
and our caption for today is God's Presence in the Tabernacle.

(00:57):
God's Presence in the tab We'll get into that in
just a moment, but first I like to say welcome
to you and ask you to go over to your
Daily Portion dot com. Please join our online community. Pick
up your Daily Portion Life application guide, get the one
for each of the two quarters, like this one we're
finishing and the one that's coming up. You need to

(01:18):
have that one for the next quarter. And also let
us know where you are in the world at your
Daily Portion dot com. This is one of the ways
that we continue to build faith and fellowship. Let's pray, Father,
thank you for tabernacling with us, for dwelling with us,

(01:39):
dwelling among us, so that we can become like you.
Please help us to welcome your presence in Jesus name.
I pray Amen and Amen again, God's presence in the Tabernacle. Yeah. Yeah,
aren't you glad that God wants to dwell among us?

(01:59):
Aren't you glad? Let me go ahead and read from
the book Patriarchs and Prophets, page three hundred and forty three,
where it reads God himself directed that the Tabernacle be built.
I want you to get that deep in your mind,
because sometimes people treat that concept of the tabernacle in

(02:20):
the Old Testament something like like people who have those
living rooms or those sitting rooms with the plastic on
the furniture where nobody's supposed to go in there. It's
just somewhere to look at. It's something to conceptualize and
look at and say, wow, isn't that wonderful? What a
wonderful place, and can't get and there's no connection there.

(02:42):
But when God had his manservant and the people to
build a sanctuary, it was, let me continue the quote,
that he might dwell among his people, and that he
himself gave to Moses the plan of the structure, with
particular directions as to its size and form, the materials

(03:07):
to be used, and every article of furniture which it
was to contain. And so God used this as an
invitation for God's people to commune with him. For him
to tabernacle with his people meant that they would get
so close to God, not familiar in a way where

(03:28):
it's lackadaisical or light or take him lightly, but for
him to be so close to them that they could
hear that he loved him, that he loved them, that
they could see that He has only their best interest
at heart when he had interactions with them, so that
he could transform their lives. Because he knew that their

(03:49):
mindset was still enslaved, They were still oppressed in their
own mindsets. They were still in the meager means in
their own mindset, they had poverty mindsets. He wanted to
deliver his people from sin, sickness, and all of those
things I mentioned and more. And so we don't need
to see this as the unapproachable light which God is,

(04:12):
but us God inviting us into his presence so that
one day we will actually live there eternally. Okay. And
so the Bible reads in the Bible reads in Exodus,
chapter forty, verse thirty four, then a cloud covered the
tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord

(04:33):
filled the tabernacle. God's presence is both real and visible
to his people. In that setting, the people of God
knew that God was with them because they could see
the cloud by day and the fire by night. They
could see his presence as a daily reminder that they

(04:54):
were not working or walking alone. And so for today,
look for a daily reminder. Look for the reminder for
this morning. Look for the reminder for this morning, this
Wednesday morning, Like, how do I know that God is
with me? Look for the reminder. Don't look for it
somewhere else, Look for it where God has already shown
that he would be with you. Look for those reminders

(05:16):
of His presence in your life and acknowledge him with gratitude.
He said, whether two or three are gathered together in
his name, he would be in the midst of us.
So when you're two or three gathered, even in this moment,
we say, thank you God for being here. Thank you
God for keeping your promise. He said that he inhabits
the praises of his people. So when you begin to
praise God, thank him for being among your peep, his people,

(05:42):
or just with you. If you're the only one praising
in the moment when he said I will always be
with you, and I will never forsake you, then thank him.
When you feel lonely, thank him for keeping his promise
that he would never leave or forsake you. You understand,
So look for those reminders and then acknowledge him with gratitude.

(06:03):
Don't talk as if he's not here. Yeah yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah. Verse thirty three of Exodus, chapter forty, the
Bible reads, and he reared up the court around about
the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging
of the court gate. So Moses finished the work. See

(06:24):
God's work is perfect and complete. He doesn't start and
then not finish. That's a principle. God finishes what he starts.
He who began a good work in you, will complete
it until the end. He will see it to completion.
You understand, whatever you dedicate to him, whatever you put
into his hands, he will keep it until that day,

(06:48):
meaning the coming of the Lord. And so, just as
God finished his work in creation and Moses completed the Tabernacle,
God will also complete his work of redemption in us.
He will not leave this thing undone. He will not
leave us in a state where we're trying to figure
out are we connected to God or not? Like is
he gonna save me too or not? No, no, no,

(07:10):
no no. God is completing his work. And so this
action step is to trust, trust that the Lord, the
one who began the good work in you, will bring
it to completion. Now I'll give you the passage in
Philippians chapter one and verse six. And our final lesson
is coming in from Revelation chapter twenty one and verse three,

(07:33):
and the Bible reads, and I heard a great voice
out of heaven saying behold. That means that God wants
you to give keen attention, to not just take a
quick glance at but give keen attention to and begin
to appreciate the beauty of the reality of whatever it
is that you're beholding, you're looking at, you're imbibing, you're

(07:54):
bringing in to all of your senses. Behold, the Tabernacle
of God is with men again. God, Yes, but this
time I'm going to show you something special and He
will dwell with them. Well he said that in the
Old Testament. Yes, yes, but I'm going to show you
something even specialer. Is that a word If it's not,
look it up in the dictionary. If it's not, then

(08:15):
I'm saying it's a word today, it's specialer. And they
shall be His people what and God himself will be
with them and be their God. This is at the
end of all things. Brothers and sisters, we know that
the old system of sacrifices was fulfilled in Christ and

(08:35):
therefore nullified any use of that in twenty twenty five.
But it was pointing in fact and indeed to how
God does what he does, and the ultimate reality, the
ultimate fulfillment that He was ushering us into, is being
in His presence forever and ever and ever and ever
and ever world without end. You understand what I'm saying.

(09:00):
And so this revelation text is pointing to the day
when finally we see that holy city, New Jerusalem, coming
down from God out of heaven as a bride adorned
for her husband. And finally, finally, when sin and sinners
will be no more, Finally, finally with unbroken praise, Finally,

(09:21):
finally with no more distractions or things that get people
off track. This will be our reality. So live each
day as a citizen of what I just describe to you,
God's coming kingdom, preparing for that eternal fellowship beginning right now.
God's presence is among his people. Are you in his presence? Peace?

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening. Friends, Always remember we cannot
live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God. This has been your daily
portion with el David Harris. Make it a great day. Yeah,

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
