Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna, the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words
(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to your Daily Portion with your host,
author speaker Elle David Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good afternoon, and happy lunchtime. It is Thursday, September twenty five,
twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is El David Harris.
I am your host, and this is your Daily Portion,
the Lunchtime edition where we give you God's Word every
single day, and today is no exception. We are rounding
the corner one more day through our lesson study series
(00:57):
through the Book of Exodus, and our caption for time
today is Jesus tabernacled with humanity. Jesus tabernacled with humanity.
That means he dwelt with us. We'll get into that
in just a moment. The first I'd like to say
welcome to you and ask you to go over to
your Daily Portion dot com please pick up the Your
Daily Portion Life Application Guide that's in fact what we're
(01:20):
talking about in the afternoon here, and also let us
know where you are in the world at your Daily
Portion dot com. This is one of the ways that
we continue to build faith and fellowship. Let's go ahead
and pray and get underway. Father, thank you for this afternoon,
Please teach us how to serve you and love you.
(01:43):
In Jesus' name, I pray a man and a man again.
And for those of you who are regular listeners and
you're wondering, well, what's going on, we have one more
day to test this afternoon's version to see if it's
something that will be useful to a good number of you,
(02:03):
and we'll announce in the morning the direction that we're going.
But we're literally just going through the Life Application Guide.
I'm reading it to you because some of you have
picked it up and maybe you don't use it and
you don't know how to apply what we study in
the morning time. Okay, So we're using the wind acronym
or framework in four key areas, beginning with spiritual application
(02:28):
W What is important now regarding Jesus tabernacling with humanity.
Jesus took on human flesh to dwell with us personally,
just as God once dwelt with his people in the tabernacles.
So you see how that goes. In the Old Testament,
we saw the Tabernacle. We saw there were times, you know,
(02:49):
before Jesus took on human flesh, where like in Genesis
chapter eighteen, God reveals himself, we're going to say, in
the person of Christ with two angels to Abraham. And
there's a whole story there in Genesis chapter eighteen. So
we see in different cases, even in the Garden of
(03:09):
Eden where God visits his people in the cool of
the day, we see where God dwells with his people,
and throughout history and even in twenty twenty five, he
shows us how he wants to connect with us. The
Bible teaches us basically that prayer is a way that
(03:30):
we connect with God. We speak to God as to
a friend, and this is what He is showing us
through the sanctuary. I internalize the insight the incarnation, meaning
when Jesus took on human flesh is the ultimate expression
of God's desire to be near his people. Jesus's presence
(03:52):
among humanity assures us that God is not distant, but
intimately involved in our life lies. This truth offers profound
comfort and motivation to live in those live in close
relationship with Him daily, knowing He is with us wherever
(04:13):
we go. How does it make you feel knowing that
God is with you? Does it comfort you? Does it
cause you to be fearful? If it's fearful, then that
means that God needs to perfect you in love. You
can ask him, God, give me, give me perfection and
love like, teach me how not to be afraid, Teach
me to do you will, and He will give you
(04:36):
that peace and next best move. Reflect today on what
it means for Jesus to dwell with you. This is
spiritually speaking. Welcome his presence and listen for his voice
throughout the day. I'm talking about when you're scrolling, if
you're scrolling through social media, if you're watching things on
the television or in some other entertainment, listening through entertainment,
(04:59):
having converse sations with people, Welcome him into that space
personal application. What is important now. God's promise is that
one day he will dwell with his people forever in
perfect harmony, I internalize the insight. The vision of the
(05:21):
New Jerusalem portrays a future where God's presence fills everything,
making a permanent home with his people. This promise encourages
us to persevere, knowing that every struggle and hardship is
temporary compared to the eternal joy of dwelling with God.
(05:43):
So you're going to go through something today, Maybe you
have gone through something already yesterday and days and weeks
and months before that's still dragging on into your life today,
and you're wondering when can I get relief God. Well,
this teaching about God tabernacling with us is encouraging us
to persevere. And what is the next best move? Personally?
(06:05):
Write down one challenge you face and use the promise
of God's eternal presence to encourage yourself to endure and
keep the faith. Do not give up keep the faith.
Write down that challenge you're facing and the promise of
God's eternal presence. Put those two together and encourage yourself
(06:26):
by faith to endure. Now we're into the relationship's application.
What is important now? Jesus is present whenever believers gather
in his name, building community through his spirit. Did you
get that Jesus is present whenever believers gather in his name,
(06:48):
building community through his spirit. I internalize the insight, even
in small groups or quiet moments of fellowship. Christ's presence
is real and powerful. This strengthens our bonds and reminds
us that our unity is rooted in God himself. Being
(07:08):
aware of His presence encourages us to love and support
one another deeply. This is how God relates to us.
This is our privilege to relate to others. God has
been forgiving toward us, then that means with Him in
our presence us, in God's presence, we can be forgiving
(07:29):
and give grace to other people in the same way.
For Christ's sake, God has forgiven us. Next best move.
Reach out to someone in your faith community this week
to share a prayer and encouraging word, inviting Christ's presence
into that relationship. Is there someone that's close to you,
(07:52):
or maybe not even that close to you, who's going
through a surgery, who's being going through a healing experience
with God. I have a sister in Nashville, a friend's
sister friend in Nashville who is currently going through something
like that where she had surgery not too long ago,
and then a little bit of complication. I'm really understating
(08:12):
it's some complication and she is healing, being healed right now,
and so I do offer encouraging words to her on
a periodic basis, and it's good to hear from her
as she continues through the struggle. So again, reach out
to someone in your faith community this week to share
a prayer or an encouraging word, inviting Christ's presence into
(08:36):
that relationship. And then comes the professional application. W what
is important now? Knowing Christ tabernacles with us empowers us
to be prep to be His presence in the workplace.
Let me say it one more time. Somebody got it
that and somebody did not. Knowing Christ tabernacles with us
(08:59):
and powers us to be His presence in the workplace.
Do you understand what I'm saying there? Because there we are.
Sometimes the only Bible that somebody will experience. To be
is the answer you've heard to be or not to be?
That is the question, as you can see on my
(09:19):
screen behind me. To be is the answer God wants
us to be all that He has called us to
be for His name's sake. And then Finally, finally, let's
go with the next best move. We can internalize that
by ourselves. Next best move. Start your work day by
asking God to help you represent his presence well through
(09:41):
your attitude and actions. Make it a great day. See
you in the morning.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening. Friends. Always remember we cannot
live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God. This has been your daily
portion with El David Harris. Make it a great day. Yeah,
