Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna, the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words

(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to your Daily Portion with your host,
author speaker, Elle David Harris.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good afternoon, Good afternoon, Good afternoon, and happy lunchtime. It
is Friday, the twenty sixth day of September in twenty
twenty five, and my name is El David Harris. I
am your host, and this is your Daily Portion, the
Lunchtime Edition, where we give you God's word every single day,
and today is no exception. This is our final day

(00:55):
in our lesson study series through the Book of Exodus,
and our cap for today is the sanctuary God's dwelling
and our redemption. The sanctuary God's dwelling and our redemption.
Now I mentioned to you when we started this pilot
or this test of whether we would do the Lunchtime

(01:17):
Life Application edition that today would be the day I'd
announce whether we continue with this lunchtime edition right now,
based on the current the current interest, We're going to
press pause on the lunchtime edition, okay. And of course,
every single day without fail, if the Lord's Faar's life,

(01:38):
we will be with you every morning as usual with
our actual study, okay. And so when you pick up
the your Daily Portion Life Application Guide at your Daily
Portion dot Com, you can look at that alone, not
alone when I say alone, like without me in the afternoon,
and make sure that you continue to pray and say, God,

(02:00):
how do I apply what we are studying in the
four key areas spiritual, personal relationship, and in professional Okay.
So for now we're going to press pause, and we'll
see you in the morning times only only in the
morning times, which we've done for years and years and years,
thank God. So let's go ahead and pray and make

(02:21):
the most of the time that we have for this afternoon. Father,
we thank you, We thank you for the privilege of
coming together and having options. Lord, we can tabernacle, You
will tabernacle with us, and we can connect with other
humans and somehow we continue to grow in grace and
then the knowledge of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Please help

(02:43):
us to do that today. In Jesus' name, I pray
Amen and Amen again. Spiritual application. What is important now?
Straight out of the Life Application guide, and if you've
not picked up the one for the Book of Joshua,
please do so today before this, Okay, what is important now?
The sanctuary was built after God delivered Israel from Egypt

(03:09):
and established a covenant relationship with his people. So God
already delivered his people, He's already establishing covenant with his people,
and now he is solidifying it by saying, let me
build build that sanctuary, Moses, so that I can dwell
among them. To internalize the insight. The sanctuary was a

(03:34):
sacred place where God met with his people, symbolizing the
intimate relationship made possible through redemption. It taught profound truths
that Christ's sacrifice about his sacrifice and ministry. All the
animal sacrifices with their blood symbolized the cost of sin

(03:56):
and the need for atonement, ultimately po to Jesus's perfect
sacrifice for our salvation. So this is what we're thinking about.
The sanctuary is a symbol of our connection with God.
And all that he needed to do in order to
save us. Okay, and now the next best move. What
do we do with this? Meditate on the significance of

(04:19):
Christ's sacrifice and thank God for making a way for
you to be reconciled with him. Thank Him for making
a way for you to be reconciled with him. Personal application,
What is important now. God's willingness to dwell with humanity

(04:44):
culminated in Jesus living as one of us and offering
himself for our sins. Internalize the insight this extraordinary love
reveals the heart of God desiring not only to be
near us, but to save us completely, even at great

(05:08):
personal cost. You realize that Jesus invested a lot by
taking on human flesh. You realize that he is not
able to be in all places at the same time
without now the presence of the Holy Ghost, whereas before
he was not limited to a body as we know bodies.
And so I'm thankful that Jesus did that and more

(05:30):
in order to what reveal the love of God in
our lives. It shows how deeply God values each of
us and longs for us to be part of his
eternal kingdom. The next best move. Reflect on God's love
expressed through Jesus's sacrifice, and renew your commitment to live

(05:53):
in a way that honors that love. The decisions that
you will make today is that honoring to God love.
The things that you will say to people or refrain
from saying. If somebody needs to be advocated for, will
you step up and be their advocate? Think about it? Okay,

(06:13):
and then we're going to relationships. Relationships? What is the
importance now? The Sanctuary Ministry pointed forward to Jesus's ongoing
heavenly intercession for us internalize the insight. Jesus continues his
priestly work, his high priestly work, advocating on our behalf

(06:37):
and preparing a place for us with God. This reassures
us that our salvation is secure and that God is
actively working in our lives and relationship. So if Christ
went back to heaven to prepare a place for us
right and has promised to come again and receive us

(06:59):
under to himself that where he is we can be. Also,
what kind of place or space are we making for
other people in our lives? Or are we selfish and
cutting ourselves off, closing ourselves off from relationships. And then
the next best move pray for someone struggling with doubt
or discouragement and share with them the hope we have

(07:23):
in Jesus's intercession. You know, brother, you know sister, that
Jesus is interceding for us right now. You just said
that you feel unworthy, But Jesus is currently positioning you
before the Father because he's covering you in his righteousness.
Everything that he did right, all of the resistance to evil,

(07:45):
he has put that in your spiritual bank accounts. So
you absolutely are worthy. You are accepted in the beloved
you see. And so God is giving us the privilege
to go into the spaces of humans that are going
through these kinds of trouble and help them to find
courage in that connection with God. And then finally, our

(08:07):
professional application. What is important now Our work can reflect
the principles of redemption and service modeled in the sanctuary.
Internalize the insight understanding the Sanctuary's purpose inspires us to
serve others with dedication and integrity, Recognizing our efforts have

(08:32):
an eternal significance when done in God's name. There are
things that you do at work all the time, things
that you do in your business all the time that
have an impact on others. Is it for God? Is
it for good? Or is it for ill? And then finally,
our next best move look for the one way to

(08:52):
serve or encourage a colleague or we can even say
a client. This week, even though the week is ending,
have a few hours as an expression of God's love.
When you become the hands and feet of Christ, when
you are pouring into the lives and experiences of people,

(09:14):
you do so in Jesus's name. He said, let your
light so shine before people, even at the workplace, that
when they see your good works, they will glorify our Father,
which is in heaven. And So, what I want you
to do from now on, because again we're pausing on
the lunchtime edition. We're pausing on the lunchtime edition is
be sure to pick up the Life Application Guide at

(09:37):

own time, and share your insights in our community. Make
it a great day, peace.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
