Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words

(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to Your Daily Portion with your host
author speaker Elle David Harris.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good morning, Good morning, Good morning. It is Tuesday, September thirty,
twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is El David Harris.
I am your host, and this is your Daily Portion
where we give you God's word every single day and
today is no exception. We are continuing in our new
lesson study series, Lessons of Faith from Joshua, and our

(00:55):
caption for today is Heirs of the Promise, Heirs of
the Promise. Before we get into that, I'd like to
just say welcome to you and ask you to go
over to your Daily Portion dot com. Please join our
online community. Please pick up your Daily Portion Life Application
Guide and let us know where you are in the

(01:15):
world at your Daily Portion dot com. This is one
of the ways that we continue to build faith and fellowship.
Let's go ahead and pray and then get underway. Father,
thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your
truth and to apply it to ourselves, not just look

(01:36):
backward to Joshua's experience, but to use that as a
launch pad for new experiences with You for ourselves. In
Jesus' name, I pray amen and amen again, heirs of
the Promise, May I just fast forward? I want to
fast forward because the Bible speaks Paul speaking that those

(01:59):
who are back tied into Christ are Abraham's seed and
heirs according to the promise. And so the stories that
we read through Joshua's experience and the people of God,
it is to give us the baseline, give us what
the mechanism was that got us through to the fulfillment

(02:23):
of God's promise for his people all the way through
until we begin eternity with him. Does that make sense
to you type of one in the chat? If that,
if that makes sense, please please all right. And so
what we're going to do is look at this concept
in three stages, okay, from the Promise to the oath

(02:48):
to the inheritance because the lesson writer used an interesting
way of describing the difference between the fulfillment and the promise.
So I'm gonna use use a different prism here, right,
So the promise is God's word as reality, God's word

(03:08):
right now. Like God is speaking to you on the
thirtieth day of September, He's making a promise to you.
That is his word to you as reality. So if
he says in sixty days, ninety days, one hundred and
twenty days in the near future or according to the
Blessed Hope, this is what he's going to do, that

(03:30):
is a promise. And because God is eternal, right, he's
the one Jesus, let's speak of it in Jesus' terms.
He's the one who was, the one who is, and
the one who is to come. That means when your
ancestors were still living, Jesus was there and before them.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Right now, he's a very present help in trouble. He's
here right now helping you to maximize the moment that
you are in about four minutes into our broadcast, and
then of course is to come like at any time
in the future beyond this moment, pause, pause, Yep, he

(04:10):
was here already from eternity past, He in his eternal
essence already experienced this moment. It's very difficult to even
begin to fathom what that means. But when God makes
a promise for something that is to be in the future,
it is reality to him, full stop. So when Joshua

(04:32):
stood before the Jordan, the land was still filled with enemies,
it was still bordered by walls. If you want to
say bordered, maybe that's not the best word. And then
it was also littered with kings. And yet God said,
according to Joshua chapter one, verses four and five, from

(04:53):
the wilderness and this Lebanon, even unto the great river,
the river Euphrates shall be shall be. That's a promise.
That is God's saying what is to come, full stop.
As if it is now, there shall be not any
man be able to stand before ye that will be

(05:16):
your coast. Okay, nobody's going to be able to stand.
And so God spoke as if the lend was already theirs.
Why because his promise is sure. Remember God's word is reality. Okay.
So the lesson for me, and hopefully you're taking the
same lesson, is when God promises forgiveness, guidance, or victory.

(05:40):
It's not a wish, it's not a hope, it's not
a dream. It is reality. Now, let's move to oath.
God's covenant cannot be broken. God's covenant cannot be broken.
The New Testament reminds us that God not only makes
promises right. God's what he says is reality, but he

(06:03):
seals them with an oath. It's a guarantee. God is
saying that on the basis of his godness, on the
basis of the fact that he is Creator God, Hallelujah,
blessed be his name, He's able to seal this. And
we read in Hebrews chapter six, verses seventeen and eighteen,

(06:24):
wherein God confirmed it by an oath, that by two
immutable things in which it is impossible for God to lie.
So the beauty of this, and I'm leaving some things out,
is that the inheritance is not based on the people
of God's strength or worthiness. I hope you're not seeing

(06:46):
yourself in the Kingdom of Heaven and on the earth
made new based on your strength or your worthiness. It
was based on God's covenantal oath. God's words words reality. Yes,
sealed sealed by an oath, because his word is bond.

(07:10):
His word is his bond, and of course sealed in
the blood of Christ. I wish it we had the time. Likewise,
your salvation doesn't rest on your feelings. Some people are
too much in their feelings your past, remember God was there,
or your weaknesses, but on God's unchangeable word. So when

(07:31):
doubts arise, anchor your hope not in yourself, but in
God's oath. It is impossible for God to lie. Impossible
because when God speaks, it is reality. Can we go
back to the promise. So if God said, at this
moment in time, and I'm speaking from where I am

(07:51):
in Jamaica, right in Jamaica, it is morning time. But
if he said it's evening, immediately it becomes evening. Why
because God's word is reality. Now, let's go to inheritance
and come to a swift close living as God's heirs.
So God has made his promise. We're living in God's

(08:14):
reality of now. He said it shall be, and we
live knowing that that's the reality because it is sealed
by God's oath. Right, So if we know that the
inheritance is coming, then we should be living now as
if we had it in our hands. In reality, the
Bible reads in Romans, chapter eight and verse seventeen. And

(08:37):
if children, if we're God's children, then we are heirs,
heirs of God. And it gets better joint heirs with Christ.
You see, Christ, having lived the human situation, he took
on flesh in order to save us from our sins. Right,
he died the death that we deserve so that we

(09:00):
can live the life that he deserves. Since that's the fact,
we are joint heirs with Christ, and he has the
key to the kingdom. All power is in his hand.
Blessed be his name. And therefore, since Christ is already
the fulfillment of airship, because He's not waiting for anything

(09:22):
to transpire, to be the heir of all great and
immeasurable things that we can't even fathom today, that all
we have to do is accept the mindset and cooperate
with God that we are now heirs, fellow heirs with Christ,
live daily as an heir of eternity.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Peace. Thanks for joining us listening. Friends, Always remember we
cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that
comes from the mouth of God. This has been your
daily portion with El David Harris. Make it a great day, Yeah,
