Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too much,
because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy for
today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect yesterday's
portion of heavenly manna the word of God to keep
us through today's challenges. On this program, we are going
to change all of that. Let's experience God's words today
(00:23):
and receive the power we need to live healthy, vibrant lives.
Welcome to your Daily Portion with your host, author speaker,
Elle David Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good morning, Good morning, Good morning, it is Friday. It's
October three, twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is El
David Harris. I am your host, and this is your
Daily Portion where we give you God's Word every single day,
and today is no exception. We are continuing in our
lesson study series lessons of Faith from Joshua, and our
(00:55):
caption for today is the personal nature of the personal
nature of faith. We'll get into that in just a moment,
but first I'd like to say welcome to you and
ask you to go over to your Daily Portion dot com.
Please join our online community. Please pick up your Daily
Portion Life Application Guide. Please let us know where you
(01:18):
are in the world. At your Daily Portion dot com.
This is one of the ways that we continue to
build faith and fellowship. Let's go ahead and pray, and
then we will get underway. Father, thank you for this
time of preparation, help us to live in preparation for
the coming of Jesus. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen
(01:41):
and Amen again. I want you to take this personally,
take it personal, take this personal. But what I want
you to take this concept, this principle of faith personal. Yeah,
I don't want you to talk about it in the sense,
at least not in this moment, moment, for these ten
(02:01):
minutes that we will invest together. I don't want you
to be talking about faith in like what other people
should do and can do and can experience. I want
you to experience God's faith personally and have that in mind,
like how can I be as close to God as
possible and lay hold upon His power by faith? Because
(02:24):
really that's what faith is about. Faith is about actually
having a vehicle to get to the power of God
and then and closing our hands and fingers around it
and grasping this faith so that this faith or power
excuse me, can be a part of our lives. Okay,
(02:45):
and so the word of God is personal personal. The
book Desire of Ages, pages three ninety and three ninety
one says more than this, but it says in his
promise and warnings, Jesus means me, God's soul loved the
(03:09):
world that he gave his only begotten son. That's to
be applied to me. The word of God received into
the soul, molds the thoughts and enters into the development
of character. So when God loves the world, the Bible
is teaching me that he loved me so much that
(03:31):
he gave Okay, so you get it now. We are
anchoring this reality in our cells, not just for the
whole world. The Bible says in Hebrews chapter four and
verse twelve, for the Word of God is quick and powerful,
and is the discerner of the thoughts and intents of
(03:52):
the heart. Oh, can we bring it a little bit closer,
discerner of the intents of my heart. I want you
to focus on you this morning or evening, as the
case may be. Ah, For the Word of God is living,
inactive and full of power, exposing and judging the very
thoughts and intentions of my heart from the amplified version
(04:15):
of the Bible, in fact in sync and second, excuse me, Timothy,
Chapter three, verses sixteen and seventeen. The Bible reads all
scriptures given by inspiration of God. We should be seeing
this as all scriptures given by inspiration of God to me,
to me that the Man of God, the Woman of
(04:36):
God may be perfect, So I may be perfect. Let's
not put it out in the stratosphere and not out
in the atmosphere. Weigh out in space or in cyberspace,
as the case may be, that I may be perfect
thoruly furnished unto all good works. This is what the
Bible is teaching us, and so and so the Bible
(05:01):
teaches us that there are no limitations in this case. See,
when we have the kind of faith that Jesus is
the author and finisher of there are no limitations. Faith
opens the door for anyone to receive eternal life. When
I say no limitations, I'm saying sometimes we say the
sky is the limit, and I'm like, ah, yeah, well,
there are things above the sky, there are things beyond
(05:23):
the sky. So the sky is a limitation to people
who believe that. I believe that as limitless as God is,
the reality is for me too. There's nothing hindering my
prosperity or success except whatever God's will is for me. Okay,
(05:44):
So the sky is not the limit for you. God
wants to teach us to live and be alive and
be full of vitality, just like his word is in
Hebrews four and verse twelve.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Right.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
He his word is not static, it's alive. It changes
everything it touches. So if God's life his word is
in my life, then I should be able to help
anybody that I touch. Are you able to help anyone
(06:19):
that you touch? Help them in what way? Connect them close,
get them, help them to get closer to God. To
show what the example of God's life in glory looks
like on planet Earth. Like Joseph, everything he touched prospered.
Uh like Abigail, who represented the character of God in
diplomacy and being a good intermediate person to make sure
(06:41):
that people wouldn't destroy themselves when when relationships go wrong.
You see, there are so many examples of people who
live the Word and it becomes alive in them so
that everything they touch is influenced by God. From the
SDA Bible Commentary, Volume five, page ten point thirty. It
(07:05):
reads only when the promises and warnings of scripture are
made personal. When the whosoever becomes me, can the Gospel's
transforming power be fully realized. Whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life. Oh, if I receive him,
(07:27):
I will not perish. I will receive everlasting life. Now
from the book Christ's Objects, Christ's Object Lessons, page one
hundred and thirteen. The Bible is not to be studied
as a common book. The Holy Spirit must bring its
truths home to the soul. Only then will it mold
(07:51):
the life. There's so many more quotes that I could share,
but let me just share a couple of applications. A
couple of a few applications. One is spiritual. Personalize every
promise when you read whosoever say your own name. When
you read John three sixteen, for God so loved David
or ld LDH whatever I call myself when nobody is looking, hah,
(08:15):
that He gave his only begotten son, that whoso oh
that LD. When I believe, then I will receive everlasting life.
When you read fear not receive it for your own
current situation. Are you encountering a health challenge. Are you
in fear of losing your your bread and butter because
(08:37):
the economy is going really weird? Are you in fear
of losing a relationship you have cherished for many years
and you want God to mend it? Then when you
read fear not receive it in your current situation. Personal,
This is an approach personal. Let the Word reshape your thoughts.
(08:57):
Use scripture to retrain how you see yourself, your future,
your worth in relationships. Extend the personal nature of God's
word to others. Speak God's truth into their lives with
gentleness and power, and then we'll come down with professional.
Let the principles of truth govern how you lead, how
(09:21):
you serve and decide. Let the Word be your standard,
not the culture, not the preference, not this is the
way we've always done it, but God's word, and you
will be successful. Make it a great day. We'll see
you on the Sabbath if the Lord spares life. Peace.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening. Friends. Always remember we cannot
live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God. This has been your daily
portion with el David Harris. Make it a great day. Yeah,
