Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words
(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to Your Daily Portion with your host,
author speaker Elle David Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good morning, Good morning, Good morning. It is Monday, October thirteen,
twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is El David Harris.
I am your host, and this is your Daily Portion
where we give you God's word every single day and
today is no exception. We are continuing through our lessons
study series Lessons of Faith from Joshua under the caption
(00:55):
The Living God of Wonders, The Living God of Wonders.
Before we get into that, I'd like to say welcome
to you and ask you to go over to your

(01:16):
Daily Portion dot Com This is one of the ways
that we continue to build faith and fellowship. And let
me just say that I am entertaining the option of
coming to you on Friday nights. The other day you
heard me share music related to the Lesson study. This
is music that you will not hear anywhere else that's
(01:39):
related to the Lesson study. And I'm thinking about going
through the lesson musically on Friday night at seven pm.
So if you are going to support that. When I
say seven pm, I mean I mean Jamaica time. If
you're willing to support that, if that's something that would
be beneficial to you, I want you to go ahead
and say yes to the music, Yes to the music,
(02:03):
and we'll take a journey through the study musically, all right,
So yeah, just let me know and we'll determine by midweek.
Let's go ahead and pray. Father, We thank you, We
thank you for the privilege of prayer. We thank you
for giving us these studies that will draw us into
your presence. Please fill us with your Holy Spirit in
(02:25):
Jesus' name, Amen, and a man again, the Living God
of wonders. Do you worship the Living God? Blessed be
his name? Do you worship him or do you worship things?
That's something that we all need to be answering. We
ask the question and answer it for ourselves. Am I
a worshiper of God? Or am I a worshiper of stuff?
(02:51):
And so the lesson writer really starts with a question,
what does the miraculous crossing of Jordan tell us about
the nature of the God we serve? See, it doesn't
make sense to worship our things because our things are
not like this God that we serve. And so the
miraculous crossing of the Jordan reveals that the God we
(03:14):
serve is Let's start with this word faithful. Has God
been faithful to you? That's a rhetorical question, because of
course he has. He's been powerful in your life. He's
taking you through trials and tribulations that you had no
idea how you'd get through. Hmm. He is powerful, and
he's personally involved with his people. When you had more
(03:36):
month than money and people betrayed you, huh. When you
were on furlough and you may in fact be on
furlough now, when you were terminated for no good reason,
had nothing to do with your performance at work, God
was faithful and powerful and fully involved in your life,
(03:56):
and you had to deal with a death in the
family like I lost my mother, You lost your mother,
you lost your father, you lost some child or sibling
in your family, and you wanted to know as God
with you, and He proved that He was with you
even through the grief. Yes, So when the priests stepped
(04:17):
into the water, and I want you to get that detail,
they stepped into the water, the river stopped flowing like
a wall when they stepped in. Have you stepped in
to the place where God wants you to go? Or
are you still waiting on the coast or on the
shore where you feel safe and stable? Or are you
(04:39):
stepping into what God has called you to do? And
now you're able to see the wonders of God. And
so in Joshua, chapter three and verse seventeen, we see
in the priests that bear the ark of the Covenant
that represented the presence of God, Yes, and the throne
of God. When they bear the ark of the Covenant
(05:00):
of the Lord, they stood firm on dry ground in
the midst of the Jordan, and all the people of
God passed over on dry ground, until all the people
were passed clean over Jordan. Aren't you glad that the
presence of God is with people who are willing to
(05:22):
serve him. God is with you when you serve him. Yes,
And when you are going through your trials, God will
be like a defense, like a shield, a refuge in
this time of storm, and you will not have to
swim over. You won't drown and have to go under
and up and bob up and down and go over.
(05:44):
But God will make a way plain before your feet.
And so this event teaches that God's power is not
limited to natural barriers. The same hand that created the
world commands the forces of nature in service to his
redemption plan. He was saving his people. He was showing
them that he is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
(06:07):
he is the God of Moses, who at that time
was now resting, and he's the god of Yeshiah Joshua,
who was leading them in that moment of time. And
if he was going to be good to them, he
was going to be good to the rest of the
people who also served him. The same hand that created
the world commands the forces of nature in service to
(06:32):
his redemption plan. It also shows that his presence, symbolized
by the arc always goes before his people. He never
sends his people where he has not already gone. I
want you to remember that while you're going through your trials,
he is not sending you where He has not all
(06:52):
ready gone. And from the book Patriarchs and Prophets, page
two hundred and ninety, we read the path where God leads.
The way may lie through the desert or through the sea,
but guess what, it is a safe path. It is
a safe path. If God is leading you along this journey,
it's because He's with you, and it's a safe path.
(07:16):
And so the action step is when you face overwhelming obstacles.
I'm talking about the ones where you're like, how did
I get here? God? Even the ones that you may
have put yourself in God forbid. But if you're you're repentant,
and you're submit, submitting yourself to God, and you're being
honest with him and you're willing to accept his help
even those kinds of obstacles, move forward in faith, I said,
(07:40):
move forward in faith. Do not stop knowing that the
same God mm hmm, the same God who parted the
Jordan still makes a way for his people. Are you
one of his people? Are you still seeing God do
wonders in your life? And so and so we go
(08:02):
for another lesson. We're gonna go with lesson Number one.
God's power overwhelms nature. It is not subject to nature.
And Psalm chapter seventy two and verse eighteen, the Bible reads,
Blessed be the God, the God of Israel, who only
doeth wondrous things. When facing what looks impossible, pause and
(08:27):
remind yourself of God's past wonders. Speak his power into
your fear before you move forward. Now we go to
Joshua chapter three, Joshua chapter three and verse eleven. Again
again look, According to New English translation, the ark of
(08:49):
the Covenant, of the Lord of the whole Earth is
ready to enter the Jordan ahead of you. God's presence
brings impossible breakthroughs, and so let God go before you.
Don't rush into decisions or battles without his direction. Wait
(09:10):
for his presence to move first. Henry Blackaby said in
one of his books way back in the day, that
we should observe and see where God is working and
go there. Don't go where God is not working, don't
rush out ahead of him, don't allow him to go.
And then you not go with him, move where God
(09:33):
is already moving. And then, finally, finally, faith connects us
to divine possibility. With God, all things godly are possible. Peace.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Thanks for joining us listening. Friends. Always remember we cannot
live by bread alone, but by every word that comes
from the mouth of God. This has been your daily
portion with El David Harris. Make it a great day. Yeah,
