Speaker 1 (00:00):
From Spotify, Speaker to all the stream platforms make they're
sure to follow us your nerd side and all that
and on social media too, at your nerd side. This
week's show, Door the Explores on with us. Well, Kathy
Hurley is the voice of Door the Explorer for years,
and she says, I'm part of the family. Now. We'll
(00:20):
talk about that upcoming episodes, but we're friends now. So
she says, I fell love their husband and you'll hear
some of that on the interview a little bit later. Also,
we're going talk about Avengers Doomsday. It's delayed, and show's
the Secret Wars and Voltron Defender of the Universe is
going to be some place that you won't expect it
to be. But let's start the show. They're ready to
(00:42):
come right back and get a little nerdy, because everybody's
got that side, your nerd side where once a year
sci fi buffs take their lips off the barrel of
a loaded gun and spend half a day adjusting their
eyes to sunlight.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Do you want to see a comic book with pregnant
zombie nuns?
Speaker 3 (00:57):
He's psychotic nerds.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
What a bunch of freaking nerds? Nerdy when nerdy, I'm
a nerds to your personality is some work come up
out of the popular clicks and I can.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Roll with.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (01:13):
I'm just too and nerdy, I'm just too wid.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
So Avengers Doom Day is delayed until December twenty twenty six,
this is what my last report said, and Secret Warriors
December twenty twenty seven. And they say they're doing this
because it's hard to lock down all those actors to
do one movie. Can you believe that Amv's in the
studio with us right now. She's always online looking at
stuff while she her microphone's kind of dipping off her
(01:38):
lap a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
So we are going to start showing videos of what
happens in the studio. We're gonna go on YouTube now.
We want to do some video stuff and interviews on there.
What do you can do when the microphone falls off
your lap?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Hopefully you can give me a better setup.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
More money. That's all I hear is.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
No, No, I'm better design and planning.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Well, let me tell you this. Since the movies are delayed,
and they say these movies, I'm talking about Doomsday and
Secret Wars. They said they can't get all the actors
locked down. It's kind of hard. It's hard to get
everyone in one place. And this is supposed to be
a bigger budget than it was the last time. And
I'm talking about Avengers Endgames all that other stuff bringing
(02:23):
everything up. This is from Kevin Faggy. This is what
he says. So I don't know there's story.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Is it? Because they're worried about the competition from DC
with Superman coming out and making sure it's quality. Because
even people were saying, like goy, there's a superhero every
year after every year.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Well, Superman is coming out like in two months July, right,
this is coming out in twenty twenty six, a year later.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
But don't forget there was a leak that they really
didn't talk much about of doomsday. Remember during the filming.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Oh yeah, I showed that to him. When it looks
like it's old medieval times with doctor Strange as the
Sheriff of Nottingham and.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
All in there, there's some issues.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Well, it's it's certain actors to have problems with Tom holland,
Chris Evans and any of the former X Men. They
can't make the current shooting schedule. This is what they say.
So they got to move it all around so they
can get everyone in there, because they really the X
Men are a very crucial part of this because as
we know, we want them to continue on with the
(03:23):
Marvel Universe. You've got to bring him into this. And
then so far it means aside for Spider Man Brand
New Day which is coming, we've got the MCU movies,
Fantastic Four, and these are all just the setups for it,
and all those actors are already confirmed to be inside
there too.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
And you know what, Spider Man is still on time.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Though here's a deal. He's actually not going to be
in too much of him is not going to be
in the.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
The it's talking about Spider Man not going to be
mentioned in the Spider Man movie.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
No, the Yes, the Spider Man movie, he's not going
to be in that much with his costume on, and
in the new one, he's not going to be in
the in the in Doomsday and the other one. They
don't need him that much. You got another actor jumping
around the suit and he just voices over same thing
that what's his new endangrum Pascal. Yeah, for the Mandalorian.
He really doesn't even need to be in the movie.
He cannot take off his his helmet, I mean during
(04:15):
the movie. So almost the film all he does is
going to the studio and lays down voiceover tracks. So, so,
what do you.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Think is said right the DC competition? You really think
that well, Barbs Magazine mentions it a few times.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
They did, Huh.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
I just don't see it interfering with it. Even if DC,
Let's say this DC has a marvelous movie coming around,
it's the best thing I want to see in the world.
SUPERMANO looks fantastic. His biceps or make me all so
oh my god to go see his biceps. I'm still
next weeking to go pave money and I'm gonna fork
it out even if I'm broke to go see the
New Doomsday. I like Doctor Doom and all that stuff.
(04:57):
It's and it's I want to see it.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
And I don't think about what's happened to Armor Wars
and Blade. I think it's the Disney and Marvel studios
trying to figure things out. So there, I don't think
the horizon is aligned yet, and there's why there's a delay.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
All right, we can expect these coming out and let
me get the days right.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah. And then by the way, just to let you know,
the CEO and investors meeting, there was a quote said
Marvels has had lost a little focused by making too much.
So I think my theory.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Is correct, all right. I just think for this weekend.
And I got to say some movies this weekend. I
wasn't gonna tell my movies. It was mission impossible Lelo
and Stitch, no superhero movies. But the Thunderbolts are still
making momentum and they're still making money this weekend. So
(05:52):
and there's not that much release, maybe a little break
in the time.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
How's Tom doing? Meaning Tom Cruise that Lelo is our
stitches beating him at the box office.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Leelo's beating him like three times what he made. So
I think it's like sixty four million, fifty four million,
I got it, and it's one hundred.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
And it's well Leilon Stitch like you say, it's number
one and then uh so, and I think, to be honest,
it's beating even top Gun Maverick, Jesus, what is it
with Leelo? Did? Okay? So you saw the movie when
was magic? It was all right, made sounds a lot
different that night you were.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
It was because I watched my I watched there Michael
my Sogn and he was way into it, and.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
He's all he was watching that.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
He wanted to watch the cartoons. It's a kid's movie,
it's a family movie. He's a mission, a possible family movie. No,
is it a good movie? Hell yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:47):
You mean like it's feeling like three hours after all
the previews.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Oh my god. But the action and just knowing what
Tom Cruise does for his movies, the stunts he does himself,
it's amazing. The movie was fantastic. The Final Reckoning Mission
impossible if if it's any they say this is the
last one. But they ended it like you still need it,
you know what I mean? So I don't know. You
(07:12):
just I thought it was a good movie, all right.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
I think the box office people and the movie people
are happy because people are coming to the movie theaters,
all right.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Other news in the Simpsons world. A staple in the
uh well Springfield universe.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
Wow, holder, don't fill up on Brad right?
Speaker 1 (07:32):
You stepping down? Retiring after like thirty five years. It's
Pamela Hayden. She plays Millhouse and Millhouse Van Houghton is
Bart Simpson's best friend. It seems that we have a
new voice taking over. Singer Kelly McLeod is going to
be the new mailhouse and she is actually taking over.
(07:54):
Let me get the right date for this. I wrote
this down for myself. Oh, she'll playing a much older
version of the character. It is happening in two more
episodes and it's going to kick in. So the new
voices take it over. And this is like there's a
milestone the rest of the Simpsons cast. And I hate
to say this, the only way they've ever stepped down
(08:16):
from the role is take a guess.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Their voices were noticeabay different as their aging.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
No, they stepped down from passing away. So this is
the first time that somebody actually is stepping down, retiring
and not leaving it out to their death and having
enough person coming.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
It's been fifty twos the Simpsons change a character's voice
actor per IMDb, it's white. There's been fifteen times they've
passed away.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
A lot of them passed away.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Oh, someone hasn't taken their blood pressure medicine.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
I just I just didn't want people out there to
come in. Sometimes I get these text messages, not texting,
ease emails like you know this is miss this directly.
The information give me is not correct, and I'm like, okay,
you're right, I'll fix it next time. I promise you'll well.
And the Simpsons are going on strong and I love
listen to me. I love the Simpsons Season one freaking
(09:06):
loved it. It was the funniest thing of season two.
Fantastic And that Conan O'Brien Matt growing when he first
got started. And then he pulled out just as a consultant,
which Sultan means like, oh, they'll sentema episode and he goes,
this looks good. Hold on, I got more money in
my pocket. I need to count. And then uh, it's
(09:27):
as of the last eight years. It's it's just not funny.
It's just I try to watch it and I'm like,
it's the same thing, same thing. But I'm the same
way with family guy. It's the same thing, you know
what I mean? The thing I like out of the Fox,
all their cartoons, it was uh was it? King of
(09:48):
the Hill ended on a high note, and I just
wanted to keep going.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
I was like, oh, Hiking the Hill and uh.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Just ended on an episode they just ended it. It wasn't
a direct episode. Sis are coming, I believe the summer
on Hulu. You can see him on Hulu. But the
voice of Dale Dale Dribble, he passed away during filming
of the newest episodes. So either they're going to recast
him or they're going to kill him off. They don't know.
So do you heard about it? Right now? Bobby Hill
(10:18):
is going to be older and he's a cheft. Everyone's older.
They aged him, they showed the promo.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Yeah, but you talked to the I mean, he wasn't
the creator's son, but the artist's son about it. I mean,
but that's been talked for a long time.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
For the But the episodes are made. I mean, it's
really coming out this summer. They have promos running all right, well,
let's see, she doesn't believe me. No, well she doesn't
believe me. Oh my god. That boy just ain't right.
I'll tell you what. And the other movie, the other
show of the cartoon. The other cartoon I like, is uh,
what the hell is it called Bob's Burgers. It's good.
I love it.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Your son's addicted to it.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Freaking fantastic the writing of that and actually It's based
on a real restaurant in San Francisco of the Amiga
joint that we actually went to a few times down
by Geary Street. That's he wrote it after that because
the family owns the burger place on Geary Street. It's
a little hole in the wall, but we loved it.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
But no name.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I forgot the name of it. We went to it
a few.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Times street in San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Now in San Francisco, it's we went there. We ate
a burger there. It was during COVID we went in there. Actually,
all right, quick interview and we're gonna come right back.
We want to talk to Dora the Explorer Kathleen her Less.
We were at a comic con with her. Got to
sit down with her and talk to her husband whole
nine yards. She is the sweetest thing in the world,
luckiest individual from childhood to everything from toy she has
(11:37):
explained everything she did.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
I still don't understand why she was not put in
the movie.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
I don't know either, and I believe she's She's a
gorgeous woman. Her husband's very lucky to ever, very beautiful.
She should have been in the movie. All right, we'll
come right back. So I'm at a comic con. I'm
so excited. So I walk over here fast. Celebrok said, hey, Eron,
do you want to meet Dora? And I'm like, Door
the Explorer and they're like, yeah, go meet her and
I was like, oh my god, his boots here, But no,
(12:03):
you brought another guy. It's just as cute. Kathleen her Lex.
She is the voice of Dori Export.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
How old are you when that started?
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Hi?
Speaker 5 (12:11):
I was seven years old about Cassa. Dora worked on
the pilot and I did it till I was eighteen
years old.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Yes, so we pretty much paid for college and everything.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
And yeah, yes for sure.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
And you're in re run still right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
They still play it.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
I love that feeble.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Streaming, yeah, VHS everything else you Yeah? And then how
many toys have you done?
Speaker 5 (12:34):
Countless? I can't even remember how many toys? Video games? Yeah,
I mean we did everything.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Was there a little part of time that this was happening?
You're like fudge more reading of this stuff? I mean
sometimes that had it happened? Right?
Speaker 5 (12:48):
Yes, there was this one toy. I don't know if
you would call it a toy or like there was
a thing where parents can buy No, it was a toy.
It was a toy where you could input your name,
so every time I would say a sentence, I would
personalize it.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Well, so you had to read tons of stuff.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
D yes, but this happened twice. So there was a
DVD that you could buy for a birthday, which that
wasn't as bad because it was very strictly like a
birthday adventure. But for this game there was there was
different things, so like I would be asking different questions,
but it was the same question for probably maybe eight
hundred names. I think it was so not to repeat
(13:30):
the sentence I would do. So if the line was
happy birthday, Emily, then I would just say all the
names with that same inflection, Emily, Henry.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Elizabeth, and.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Kathleen. Could you redo CD or Swartzenegger.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
Well, so, because after a while you're like, am I
even doing the right inflection because you're just kind of
like an antal pilot. But then you're like, I don't
know if it sounds right, So then you just end
up doing the whole sentence anyway.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
So they were okay with it pretty much.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Yeah, but like after a while, and this is from
seven to eighteen, Yes.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
Well, the one we did that game. Who knows, I
was probably in my teens already.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Do you feel like you missed out some childhood a
little bit?
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Yeah? For sure?
Speaker 5 (14:11):
I mean I couldn't or were you excited extracurricular activities
at school? Like in high school I was able to
participate in theater, but even then, like they would have
to be lenient with me because I would miss a
lot of the rehearsals.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
So other kids don't really like that.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
So you better rub her feet when she gets all
the night.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Thank you? This is your handler. Akah, So this is great.
And now not are you doing Dora, but they've actually
brought you on to do Dora's mom mom.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
Yeah, I played doors mom.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Now is it door as.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
Mom or are you just grown up and you had
another Dora?
Speaker 2 (14:41):
I mean either work? So to take your.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Pick business fantastic And I've seen people coming up to
your booth, yes, that are so excited to see you
of what you've done for the childhood or their kids
or their birthdays or like that. All right, social media
handle if you want to fall the original door to
explore and find out where she's going next? Leppards, what's
your social media.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
Him at Kathleen Hurless and it's the same handle everywhere
except for YouTube. It's at the Kathleen Hurless.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Now what's on YouTube? What do you got there? Videos
from here?
Speaker 5 (15:09):
I have the same videos that I post throughout social media.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
But I do stream video games.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Oh you do you play video games? What do you blame?
Speaker 5 (15:17):
So my favorite I'm a Disney like fanatic, So I
started playing Kingdom Hearts also because I love Final Fantasy seven.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
We got ladies, gentlemen, We've got a nerd. It's a
nerd break.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
But I need to get back to playing and finishing
my games. And Luigi's mansion is my favorite.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
That's my son's. He lives for Luigi.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
Do you know that's the next movie something? That's what
they said.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
And I do this all time.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
So Terror, I like spreading rumors, so I do this
with Terror.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
I got Terror work.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Okay, I got her work, and.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
I go, you got a good voice.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Because I always tell the production people are audience people.
I know, like you got to hire this person as this.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
We need to see you as Boo as Boo something,
or you need to be the next Mario, the next
Super Mario movie.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
That I would love to.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
We need it. Where's your aging because you got to
tell him to push you, push the stuff on you.
We need to hear you do more. And I'm not
kidding it.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
That's what I'm trying to do.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
I'm trying to do all the work.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
I love Dora or Universe like I'm ready to branch out.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah, and I am very honored. I work with celeb
Works now and I'm doing the interviewing side, and so
I'm so honored you're here. You're a pleasant to view.
Your husband is fantastic too, No, I mean that he is.
You got a good hand, he's pretty good. You lucked
out Marin Agut like that said that he carries your
purse at.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
The at the mall too right yet not yet, we're working,
You're not carrying the purse.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
We'll get on that one, Ladies and gentlemen. The Explorer
Kathleen her Lex, Yes, thank you so much for joining
me and I can't wait to see you at the
next Common count. I hope I get to. I hope
I'm going to be hosting your panel.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
That's the idea is they want me to host panels.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
I will make you look like a star out there.
That's what I'm supposed to do. Now, Kathleen Hairless. If
you want to catch more of those interviews I always
say I was always put him up on my SoundCloud,
all right, don't forget that. Also, if you want to
see some cool stuff that we do with the comic
cons walking around, we got fan Fast up there. If
you heard the podcast, we'll run Fanfaest, Universal Students fan Fest,
(17:22):
or last show, which was fantastic. We were retired. Star
Trek was awesome. Back to the Future. I almost cried
because it felt like I was in the real Back
to the Future of nineteen fifty five. I wanted to
punch Biff, but he probably would have kicked my ass.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Biff was the best part there.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Yeah, he was the BEF. Biff was awesome, better than
Michael J. Better than the.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Uh yeah, the Michael J. Foks even a little bit
aged up there, Yeah, a little aged.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
He wasn't as cute as the original. Oh no, no, no,
I think she got a cuter of Michael J.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Foxx wasn't even seeing or anything.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
No, the Biff was dead on. Looked just like him too.
He looked really good.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
He looked I think he acted better than the other
one sometimes.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Yeah, but you know what, here's the thing. When you
were listening. Okay, So, and if you watch the show,
go to YouTube on your nerd side on the webs.
On the YouTube when they were on stage, the person
who portrayed Marty McFly was actually playing the guitar. All
that was live and he was actually singing. So they
had to get a singer and actor personal looked like him.
(18:20):
Had to be short.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
And many could run around really fast.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah, they get really fast because he got to give
it to Dolaurian to go back to.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
You couldn't be a drama queen.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
No, he couldn't at all. But it was really good.
So checking out a YouTube channel. Always look at your
nerd side. And if you want to see our latest
your nerd side toys, they're always on a YouTube channel.
All right, We were watching for a while and I
kind of cut back in a little bit. What is
it the last of us? Here's here's the deal.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
He is not addicted anymore.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
No, I used to love it so much. It wasn't
until they killed him off.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Just pill Joe.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
They killed my Mandalorian guy off. When you kill him off,
I loved him so much just he was the backbone
of the show and then she's going to be there
with the I don't know, and I know they probably
don't Caroline. Huh No.
Speaker 5 (19:09):
No.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Season two premiere, Okay, listen to This is the Last
of Us, which is on HBO, brought in five point
three million viewers across the platform both. The finale, released Sunday,
was only watched by three point seven million, a thirty
percent drop from the premiere, staggering fifty five percent drop
compared to the season one finale, which drew eight point
(19:31):
two million. Soon as they kill him off, I was like,
I'll catch you later because I want to see what's
up with him, how he's taking care of the kid,
how they're working out, what's going on. So I was like, now,
this is what HBO says. HBO blames Memorial Day weekend.
He viewship drop. It says HBO's trying to download the collapse,
(19:51):
blaming the Memorial Day weekend and claim the numbers increased
with the laid view and as they state in the
official press release, so here's a deal. Do you think
the three day weekend really round it?
Speaker 2 (20:03):
No? No, I mean I'm glad people are out and
enjoying life. But no, it's the shows now is super
slow pace and though the acting is great from so
many of the casts and supporting cast, I mean she,
I mean the problem with Joel's that like, you know,
unofficially adopted daughter is that she was an ass at
(20:27):
the end. I mean, you know, she wasn't Bella was
not as like Bella Ramsey who plays the daughter Ellie,
is not as likable on there. But a lot of
fans are talking after about the quality of the acting
is about how slow it is. There's not that same
urgency as in the game as well too, and there's
so many additions and changes diluting the story that they
(20:50):
originally fell in love with this show.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
The first season was they had to get the point
A to point B to get her, you know, because
she was you know, she was the cure. Blah blah blah.
This one it's like, we're living here, should we go
out the relationshipshire thing? Why are we fighting? This woman
wants to kill him? From the other thing. It was
(21:13):
just all over the place. But honestly, I've stopped. The
last episode we watched is probably the one where Joel
was killed or no, the one after that we were
it was.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
The one after that was slow when they killed off
that that tribe, you know, and we're trying to figure
it out and you see the army. But listen, the
reviews are there, like you know, I was a lot
of people were as a spectacle as a mob mostly
captures the magic of the king. But so there's a
lot of butts best adapted ever made in history. But
(21:46):
it's as the movie's going on. So I really do
think it's the fast paced. The story is not as
compelling as it used to be, and I don't think
there's as much magic between the actors that are right now.
Season one.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Well, you know what, here's the thing, so some people
compare this, Oh it's like another Walking Dead. It's this
huge show. Walking Dead had a lot of source material
to go through or to use. I mean, they had Meagan,
they had the Governor, and this is all based off
the combook. This is going off a video game, and
they have to go off the video game. There's no
(22:23):
graphic novels for the Last of Us.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Well, and here's the thing, is I love it how
one reviewer put it at this stop at season one
just not the same show. They're comparing this to the
killing off of Glenn from that series, and what they
did to lots of us was worse, like they I mean,
unless Pedro Pascal. He's way too busy. So maybe that's
(22:46):
why you agreed to do this. But it's just it's
not the engaging story line, isn't there What really brought
us there was Pedro Pascal and his character, and it
was it was miserable to be the first few app
episodes just because of how the relationship. It just seemed
like a selfish girl who realized she was selfish way
(23:07):
too late.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Yeah. Isn't that how it is in real life? Though,
isn't it?
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Are you talking about your own story?
Speaker 1 (23:14):
No, I'm talking about you to me. You just you
just you don't realize.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Well, I love and let's put it this way. That's
the end of that. That's the quote you have.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
It's so good, you just don't realize it. I'm just kidding.
I love HBO. It'smoral of the Weekend. No, the story
is just not there. Do I want it to end? Well,
if you're going to keep going this direction, yes.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Yeah, rapid, but season three is green light already, though
it's green light huh yeah, I mean that's what some
people say. Here.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
All right, let's see the big back.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Is not coming back.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Well, they could clone them. They can do that.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
They can't clone her blood. That's the pride to understand.
Why didn't talk about her blood.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
It's not her blood, it's in her brain. They had
to cut open and go in her brain.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
No, that's what they assume. They don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
You gotta do something.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
No one's trying with her blood.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Here's the deal. If it was me and I knew
they had to do it, would you let them do
it to me? If it was one for billions?
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Well do the blood first.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Doesn't work.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Once you open your brain, you're dead and all the
cells are dead. Doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Well, if I'm not that smart, it would help me
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
I guess all I know is that. Okay, wait, so
we have not watched this the ending business one of
you goes empty, cold, forgettable. I honestly can't believe this
is how The Last of Us season two ends. After
a first season that hit hard emotion narratively, so it
does not seem it was very good.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
I don't want to watch it just to see how
bad it is.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
That's the reason they said episode two was great but
too bad. The rest sank into mediocre and the I
feel exactly the same. It says, it's so much, there's
no height.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Here's Pedro got the script. Yeah, and he read all
the scripts. He goes, oh, this is not the season. No, no, no, no,
I want to.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Kim me off in the third episode, just wants to
be legendary. No, they said, uh no, he's got way
to get with fantastic for the Mandalorian movie this and
Netflix is trying to pick him up for two more things.
And he's got another movie his company. He's got two
more movies to do.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
I forgot what he was.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
I think truly what it is, and Pedro did not
know this though. The writing feels lazy. It's like they
went off their way to avoid emotional impact, and the
big moments just have been falling completely flat. M that's
all I gotta say. All right, let's talk about something.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Else, all right. Start the music to make it right.
That's the music. So there is hype all over the place,
and some of you might not go, what what hype?
What are you talking about? If you're not hyped up about?
This is that the.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Issues and you were in his Fonseka show car vehicle.
He was screaming, could not talk enough about what was it?
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Voltron the motion picture? Yeah, the hype is real for
Andrikaville's live action Vultra movie, but fans are hoping for
a big screen debut but might be in for a surprise.
So sorry about this while the film has officially wrap
production Australia. And for all those people in the backstory,
(26:13):
Voltron was a cartoon from the eighties that came out
and it was a Japanese anime that was transformed into English.
And there were three Voltrons originally in Japan. Okay, and
I'll explain a second. The one we watched was so popular.
Were five lions on a distant planet called istan bar
(26:34):
Istandar and five lions and the Earth Forces with all
the neighboring planets sent these five people out there to
find the lions to fight this either guy, the evil
Emperor zerk God. I remember, this is so sad. And
they tried to find only found four lions. They can't
find the fifth lion. They get it and then the
series gets over. The five lions can fight, but when
(26:56):
all five lions are combined and make Voltron a powerful
robot that can destroy anybody and fights back. And that's
the story. But they made a live action version and
he's one of the drivers of the Vultron automobile. Who
are the rest of the actors. There were some big names, right,
is it? Is it? What's his name? From Sinners?
Speaker 2 (27:18):
He's Alba Bautista, Sterling K. Brown, Rita Ara, John Kim,
Tim Griffin, Laura Gordon, Nathan Jones, you know, Roberto Zenka.
I mean, I think the I think it's questionable how
big these names really, the big ones. Alba Baptista, but
(27:40):
Bapista I said better the first time, and Henriette thank you,
and then Sterling K. Brown what a great voice by
the way.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
All right, so it's film production Australia.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Here's a sad part is there are like maybe only
two people who identify as Asian who are in this
film considering a Japanese. Yeah, it's so sad.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
It has reported that Amazon, who made the movie, is
planning debut Voltron directly to streaming on Prime video, skipping
theories entirely, just like it did with Roadhouse. Now you
can ticule these two ways Oh, I'm a little scared.
That means it completely sucks. But Roadhouse went directly to
Amazon Prime and it was fantastic and they're making a
(28:24):
part two to it. It was so good. So I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
But did you hear the rumor what he's in right now?
But it's a TV series. This is something your nephew,
Christopher Fonseca would enjoy. What did he like the most?
Do you remember?
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Uh? Women?
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Nova? So Henry Caville, Glenn Close, John c Riley are
and the guy from Blue Beado is suspected the well
they are calling it Nova, but yeah, I'm as soon
as a Nova core. So it's in pre production, but
as a TV series. But Henry Cavill is very busy.
(29:02):
He has a productions Highlander which is also in pre production,
the Rosie Project pre production.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
But show he still does. Right, what's it called?
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Were you're talking about? Charlock? Colmbe? Oh that's a Highlander,
isn't it?
Speaker 5 (29:16):
No?
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Not Highlanders? No?
Speaker 2 (29:17):
I think that series is done. The Witcher The Witcher, right, Yeah,
so he was never watching it. In twenty nineteen to
twenty twenty three, twenty four episodes of Friends Body.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
I Gotta Watch you Gotta watch. It's based on a
game now for Voltron. Producer Bob Koppler has issued a
vague statement that avoids confirming any release strategy, leaving the
fans guessing and feeling speculation the Amazon may once again
be leaning into the streaming first approach. So he's on
the line going out, and there's nothing wrong that I
(29:50):
don't mind watching an Amazon first. I'm excited about that.
What I want to see in theaters if it's good, yes,
if it's like going there to see Justice League and
you're like, why did they do this? Why is he
saying that? Oh my god? You know, you get that
feeling like, oh my god, it's so corny, like you're
hoping that it gets a little better. Then I'll feel bad.
(30:12):
But it's on Amazon and watching I'm like, this is bad.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
I'm like, oh, at least you're getting a live action
one for that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Always always been waiting for it. So I'm excited about it.
Always doing that.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Yes, So producers have not confirmed one way or the
other where it's gonna be streamed or not.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
All right, So you had a week this week, Anything
exciting happen in your life? This week that you would
like to share with us anything at all that you're
in it. Oh Jesus Christ, it's the nicest thing I've
heard today. My god, that's the nicest thing. I was
in the backyard scrubbing a poll. All right. One thing
I want you guys to do is I need you
to subscribe to the podcast on all platforms. And I'm
(30:52):
so excited because she's spent all day as in a
Tellers she spent all day working on the YouTube channel
for your nerd side and she's gonna create this pay
is all your nerd side toys. So if you get
an opportunity, go to the YouTube page and twice a
week we're gonna debut some toys. Because we were trying
to clean out this place. We've got so many toys
coming in and there's like two more packages on the
(31:13):
way of new stuff. They keep sending me stuff and
it when did you.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Guys like to see the Yoshi bag? You won't film that?
Speaker 1 (31:20):
We got some stuff in the Nintendo store in San
Franco went too. What'd you think of that? The Nintendo
story forgot?
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Oh, it's a huge downer. If you listen to Fonsake
of Mom and Me show. Hopefully later this week you'll
listen to that podcast. I was extremely disappointed.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
It's just uh it you walk in, it feels like
it's you're at the Apple Store, but with a lot
less stuff that you really don't need. There was like
about four things. I did walk out. We did buy
for myself two things, and she bought some things. But
the Donkey Kong stuff, I thought it was amazing. I'm
love Donkey Kong. This is like a lot of people
like Donkey Kong. What's up with that?
Speaker 2 (31:59):
I'm not gonna go there.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Is he that bad?
Speaker 2 (32:02):
No? No, no, no no.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
I love Donkey Kong. A lot of Elda stuff, but
it was so so nothing compared to the New York Store.
New York Store was amazing.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Were there the New York Store? I mean you even
host parties. It's just so small. And then here, if
you ever come to San Francisco Unions where there's so
many store fronts that are closed, like Sacks fifth Avenue,
just take the whole building Sacks fifth Avenue.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Now that's a bit too much, you know, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
But you could make it like a game look seration.
There was hardly anything where.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Game stop was that's where they should have went at
the corner.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
That was too small.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Three floors. It went down the race and then it
went upstairs.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
No, and the top one.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
The upstairs was there was regular floor and downstairs and
there was an upper level. But they closed it off.
They said it was their storage, so they could have
had three floors. It's all right, it.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Could have What what about the Gap store which would
used to be the old Wolf Warst store. That would
have been iconic.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Do you know? You know what some of the employees
said to me too. I was asking my company what
the tariffs were just holding back stuff. We're kind of nervous.
That's another thing. The tariffs are really hurting them too.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
They're just a lotuff that was sold out. Well, then
you better get those toys now. So people were reserving
and then guess what, people, it's right next to Victoria's Secret.
So a few ladies we're going to get lingerie while
their children in line. But that store is empty. They're
like business has been so slow since Nintendo.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
I get my Donkey Kong sweatshirt and get my lingerie
right after to kill two birds of one stem. Hey,
we'll talk to you next week's show, if there's anything
you need from us. Always wish to meet us or
reach out to us on social media at your nerds side.
Have a good week my friends,
