Speaker 1 (00:12):
Hot in here? And we're in San Francisco and it's
just not a hot city.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
It's called I apologize Blackfoot Nation man. That it's known
as for the San Francisco Natives is Indian summer. This

matter how hot it is, I can't fall seapless a
blanket on me. So it's like I'm killing I want to.
I'm doomed as I do, and I'm doomed if I don't.
I'm sweating, but I got to put a blanket on
me just to stay cool because I'm so freaking hot always.
I'm sweating right now, and I like windows open. And
(01:03):
one of the things that she'll she'll agree to this.
I love going to hotel rooms and putting the air
condition in full blast where it's like fifty degrees and
it's freezing, because I rather be cold outside and you
get to cuddle up and snub up in a blanket.
That's just a perfect thing for me. I love that. Hey,

especially when you pull down the pants and Joe and
there was no penis.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
And it's justestics will be perfect age.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Where I have no balls left. We're gonna talk about
James gun next, because he is the new genius in Hollywood.
Sometimes let's start the show or you're coming right back,
talk real fast in an interview, and then, uh, I
promise Jesus, there's so much I want to cover. I
promise I'd go through emails that I get and start
reading them. Let's see the next show, because I really
(02:39):
got to go for emails and I don't want to
be like I don't give them the time they deserve.
Heather or backing up such show welcome where once a
year sci fi buffs take their lips off the barrel
of a loaded gun and spend half a day adjusting
their eyes to sunlight. So James Gun was on the
SmartLess show. Have you ever seen the smartlet? I heard
the Shark Smartest show.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
I love the SmartLess podcast. I subscribe as you should
subscribe here and the Ponseka Moammy Me show and College
We're all okay.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
So he was, uh, do.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
You want to tell people who SmartLess is? By Jason Bateman,
Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, it's those three guys together. It looks like they
have a podcast together. It looks say, Will Arnett's always
bringing tail the back room. So with that, Hey, I'm
bringing my sons. But I'm still getting hooking up with
chicks younger than me. I don't know. I get a
feeling from Will Arnett that he's just hooking up with
chicks all the time. Do you get that feeling?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Uh? So they did. If you go on Apple TV,
they show's SmartLess and you're paying attention. First, Jason Bateman's
wife is very lucky to have it. I mean, I'm
sure he has some knacks, but like he's so devoted.
Sean always talks about his partner that Will he loves
his children, So I gave you that respect. He was married,
but he was looking at women like, well, he's single.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I mean, especially when you come off with them, come
off a divorce, there's some kind of I don't think.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
He was with somebody. Why he was me married to
Amy and now Amy has a podcast too. I have
not listened to that.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
What, sir, is my husband cheated on me podcasts Women's Live,
Women's Live. So I guess Jason James Gunn was on that.
He was a riffing. He riffed on Superman or what
exactly happened? You're you listened to the show?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
I did listen. I mean, well, first we were talking
about his background, because he comes from really humble backgrounds.
He actually went to grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri,
went to a Catholic school there in eighty four, and
then graduated from Saint Louis University. I'm shocked that there's
not like a statue of him over there, and James
Gunn at making films with James Gunn. Yeah, because no
(04:47):
one at Saint Louis University high talks about James Gunn.
Don't ask me why they don't.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
You know what they do, right, They have all the
hallways or painted in bright colors and when you walk
to each high hallway they're named after and they have
a soundtrack for each one.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Well basically can transfer.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
That would be awesome and everybody spins around like you
know star Lord.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Now, well maybe the reason why because he went from
Saint Louis University to LMU, which is one of the
top ten LA film schools. But then he got bored
there and then ended up at Columbia University where you
guys MFA. So he just but he was just talking
about like he wasn't they really asked him about the money.
He's like, I'm not into that. He they had a
(05:30):
long conversation should Superman have underwear or not? And like
there's saying that there are some people who go and
fights because of that.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
For James, well, I got admit when they did the
So they did outfit test for one for what's his
name for Superman Returns or Superman Lives with Nicholas Cage
and they had him with the bull buff stuff. They
had him with underwear and out underwear. It looks better
with the underwear. Then they had chess screens for the
(05:59):
James gun one with cornsweet whatever the dude's name is.
They had it with and without, and it looked better
with It just looks better. I don't have a preference,
but it does look better with underwear, and it hides
your super balls a little bit, so it kind of
helps that out a little bit. And I'm just staying
from a way that it looks better on screen.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
It looks better with underwear, So yeah, and then he
talks a little bit about Superman, like the sense of
them seeing him as an immigrant and becon of basic kindness.
A lot of people were talking about that, but remember
James Gunn is about writing, you know, his first papers
that he did at Tromo Entertainment. Who just paid one
hundred and fifty bucks. And then at the end of
(06:41):
the interview, it's SmartLess definitely could listen it to Apple
podcast or wherever you stream. They ask for his advice
for other people who want to start off like him,
and he basically say, quote, don't do it like I did,
but seriously, right every day makes stuff cheap, earn messy,
learn the craft from pros, from junk, scripts from failures,
(07:04):
be collaborative, always intent for everybody and never stop working
on your voice. That's true, well done and well said. Yeah,
so he's known as the Hollywood box office superhero right
now from the financial time.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
But the only problem is that I posted something. If
you check it out on our social media, it seems
like they haven't built the superhero movies this summer, having
passed the billion mark like they usually do. And it's
superhero burnouts, I think. And I posted that on there
and I asked, hey, you guys, are you burnt out?
And nobody's really answering it. And it's a lot of
(07:39):
people that follow your nerd side on Instagram and all stuff.
They're more of a superhero kind of followers, and they're
trying to get these movies out there. The people that
love Marvel and DC and want to see it, like us, Hey,
we're going to go and pay for it and we're
going to be opening night. We don't want to. But
the other people that just don't aren't in the superhero
films to get those regular people in, they're just not going.
(08:02):
They're like, hey, it's just another Superman. They're looking at it.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Yeah, like you said, fantastic more and me half a
million Superman did about the same. I mean that's final
cut on numbers there. Superman, I mean it did fine.
I mean worldwide, we're talking about six hundred and six
million becoming the seventh highest grossing film of twenty twenty five.
(08:26):
So that's why the Financial Time said that it did
so well. But you have to remember your do thing
about cost. With Fantastic Four, it came in tenth. That's
the highest grossing film. So Superman won, so he became
super But that goes right into our next transition of
a time.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Did it win?
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Did you know? It's how you intert because I didn't.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Want you to switch for But did it win? Because
it opened up two weeks prior to the Fantastic.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Four, So you really think Fantastic four it could be two.
But I mean more people are talking about the popcorn
budget of the Fantastic the Fantastic four. Yeah, that's yeah,
I know that the pop pn. Your son who was
helped as hunt all over two continents, no excuse me,
one continent in two countries was more hyped about herby Galactus.
(09:10):
I need to make his dad happy than the movie.
The movie was just I think they did a great
job with Sue story. Just slow, but it was slow,
but it ends there. I think the female roles here here,
but the parts that was I mean, I don't know
read Richard's I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
He seemed like a pussy and we don't see him
stretching that much. You want to see more of him.
I wanted to see Ben Grimm.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Like Ell, Everyone want to see Ben.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Ben Grimm didn't do that much fighting. Did we talk
about this or we did talk about this?
Speaker 2 (09:39):
But it's just a thing that But you know what,
because if you listen to our past podcast, I remember
it subscribes. You always go look at other ones he
talked about he was more excited about Fantastic Four than Superman.
But here's the thing, But how excited are you about Weapons?
The horror movie that's out right now? You did see it?
Speaker 1 (10:01):
I saw it online.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
You saw what that Paul put it up for me.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
I already saw it. It's good. I had I had
a stopics, I had to go into a meeting. It
was great. It's it's not as scary as you think
it is. And it's done what I like about Weapons.
It's done in segments, so it'll come up with words
and it goes the teacher's point of view, her name,
and it shows her whatever happens, and then it goes
(10:27):
back to someone else, the dad, who's of course danos
Uh his point of view, and you see everything that's
interacting with it. And then finally you get the little boy,
who's thing that I can tell you what it's about.
Everybody keeps asking me, and I'll tell them because nobody.
Do you want to know what it's about? Yes or no? Yes?
Speaker 2 (10:44):
After I say weapons becomes the first horror film to
top twenty twenty five box office in three weeks in
a row.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
It's good. It's about witches. It's a witch.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
So it is the teacher the witch. Spoiler alert. Everyone
hunt has heard.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Down think it's her because it's her class. It's the
little boy, the only boy that's left alive.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
But also wait, the kids they ran that ran funny.
They're dead.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
No, they're not dead, they're they're the only one that live, well,
the only one that's left. You know, when they kidnapped,
left because everything's they're gone or dead. Because after a
few days when the time they always say once the
kid's kidnapped, As the time goes by, the chance to
get him back alive, goes diminishes. That's what they always say.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
The the kid, the only kid that was left not
kidnapped and was still alive or disappeared or ran off.
It was his aunt. His great aunt came by me.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Why did she do it?
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Uh to she was sick to live. She's a witch,
that's what she does. Keep say.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
She was living off the kids.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Yeah, and I couldn't believe. Yeah, and it was amazing
because she cuts her finger and bleeds it and does
certain things and cracks in, puts in water, and then
everybody does what she wants. It's kind of weird, but
you wouldn't believe the witch is the same lady from
Uncle Buck, the girlfriend. I didn't know, so Uncle Buck's girlfriend.
Do you remember that movie? No, it's an actress goes
(12:08):
she's the witch, and I was like, who is this lady?
Because she wore a wig, and I was like, oh man,
I'm running the movie for you.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Spoiler, you're making me fall asleep. But so, oh my god,
weapons worldwide. Now here's the crazy part. Me two hundred
and eleven million dollars already just three weeks. It's matching
Fantastic four. And there are more horror movies coming like,
like I will already five fascination. Bloodlines is two hundred
(12:38):
and eighty seven million. Ethan Hawks horror movie sequel, The
Black Foam two is coming out in October. So I
think what's happening is, and I want you to talk
about fans, is that it's really cheaply made. There's more
bigger actors getting on I mean, Ethan Howks nothing, Josh
Broslin is on there. I mean, come on, and they're
(13:01):
making money. So why are people going there? Because look
at this, If we look at horror movies, it made
seven hundred and four million, It Chapter two four hundred
and seventy three million, Sinners three hundred and sixty six million,
then None three hundred and sixty six million, and Weapons
now two hundred and eleven. What's going on? Why is
everyone addicted to horror movies beyond Halloween? On sake? I'm
(13:26):
asking you because you love horrors. I won't watch it,
but you will.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Why are people going to horror movies well so much?
Speaker 2 (13:31):
I mean Halloween makes sense, but this is throughout the year. Now,
why are they more into or is it just a
different genre? Like they're tire of the year.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
So I got admit, and I'll say this, I'm like
I said on the the show not too long ago,
I'm kind of glad they're waiting a while to do
another superhero film or waiting their time, and soon it's
this one and this one and that one and that
one and that one. I'm like, eh, it's kind of
in the beginning it was cool because all the movies
(14:00):
good together. Now they're throwing out the internals and this,
and I know they're trying to time in, but I'm like,
this is boring. I'm sick of this.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
The Sentinel. So it's like, Okay, there's a sentence on
our planet that I just not into that.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
But I'm saying, yes, I want something else, and I
would like not the same Halloween, but not a reboot,
something new. It's nice. I want to see a scary
Do you.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Think James Gunn is failing and what he's doing with it.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
No, as long as he doesn't oversaturated, he's fine.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Because when you saw the cartoon of Supercents, you loved it.
The you forgot Supercons. Go to HBO Max Supercons where
you see Clark kent Son join forces with dams All
that you said, this is so good.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
It was different because it was different, it was way
way different.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Well done, it was well done. Okay, what's next, fan.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Sika only I'm excited about that's coming to Disney. Plus,
there's nothing to do with Star Wars. It's the zombies,
Marvel Zombies. That is it and that should be coming up.
And that's not that's not Star Wars, I know, but
the Marvel that's the only thing you don't care about
Star Wars.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Mall shadow Lord, No, I bet you're gonna hate the animation.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
That's what exactly the problem is. I'm going to hate
the enemation.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Yeah, so talk about Eye of what Conda? You did
watch that? You watch me and Winners Dooo that was
kind of bored. Oh you just have the same review
as your little fun say.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
It just takes a lot to get me. And I
was like, I'll see you when I see it. If
there's nothing else on, I'll see it. That's all I
can say. All the time.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
I'm like, ah, so, just for those who are excited,
because this is your nerd side, real quickly going down
on so sorry, So Sady Mandalar and Grow Group May
twenty second twenty twenty six, Star Wars Starfire May twenty eight,
twenty twenty seven, Osaka season two likely twenty twenty six,
visions from Star Wars season three October twenty nine, twenty
(15:54):
twenty five, and Mall Shadow Lord twenty twenty six. Young
Jedis for the Young One season three late twenty twenty five,
and Rebuild a Galaxy season two September nineteenth, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Let's go fan Seka not interesting in those I know that,
so Christopher Chris Columbus and we have talked to him
before you met him a few times. We met him
once at the Giants game, talked to my son. He's
one of the people that wrote the original writers for Gremlins.
In a recent early interview, they're asking him, are we
(16:30):
going to be doing Gremlins three? Well? According to the
original Gremlins writer Chris Columbus, the long discuss three core
remains trapped in development limbo. He was recently talking with
our friend Steven Spielberg, and he said they coming out
some ideas for thirty plus years, but if nothing's good,
they're just not going to make it.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
But isn't he trying to do the Goonies as well
as it's in.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
There together, and they just haven't cracked it yet. They
don't want to do a film that it's not great,
and the reason there has there has to be a
reason to do it and has to be more than
just Okay, we'll do great at the box office with
that title. But he says he wants something to put
out now.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
I have a question, what are your thoughts about Christopher
Columbus not wanting to do anything related about Harry Potter.
So you always feel like the work that he did
was the best.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
I think it's fine, got to move on to something else.
Did two movies move something else? It's like, you can't
go back. I used to work at a company tune
in Right, and then one of the head bosses to
him said, hey, we're going to bring it back, We'll
do part time, We'll do this. We really need you,
And I'm like, no, I don't fight for that. I
got to move on. There's probably something better to do.
You just move on, you don't go back.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
So do you think he's just focusing more on his
production company that he does with his daughter Eleanor Columbus
made in Voyage Pictures. Yeah, Okay, So he's just taking
a backseat and just writing when he's inspired, or he
just has too much of the wealth of the world.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
I think he has too much. He's just burned out.
Some people get burnt out of this stuff. And it's
a lot of it's a lot of work to do
a movie. And they expect and they always wanted to
put you. When you have like a successful movie and
it's really really good, they expect it always to be
successful and good all the time. It's just how it is.
They expect nothing but perfection from you. But he is.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Directing I don't know much of this Murder Thursday Murder Club.
Have you heard about that?
Speaker 1 (18:24):
I never heard of it.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Yeah, so he is directing something. So maybe he's going slow.
I don't know. But that's the only thing is And
he was approached, I mean the only thing about Harry
Potter that he approached about the author's anti trans comments,
and he said it was just very sad. I don't
know if you know, Christopher Columbus grew up in San Francisco,
(18:45):
went to Saint Ignacious, and you know been she's.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Caused so many problems from me. I have suits that
are Harry Potter suits different places I wear them, I
can't wear them because of her, so and I like
Harry really yeah, They're like, I wouldn't wear that's a
offensive and I'm like, okay, so I had to go
hang it up and can't wear it. Let me get
a quick interview. We're ready to come right back, and
then two more things and we're going to wrap up
(19:09):
real fast. Sean Chiplock, we're at the Let me think
with stock Yeah, Stockton con Sean Chiplock. Let's talk to
him real fast. Voice artists and really cool guy. Check
this out, Sean. You're a one man show over here.
You had a line of people. You were you were
taking pictures, you were shiging autographs, you were doing everything
(19:30):
with them. I love it. What started all this? I mean,
are you an actor? A voice actor? How did this?
Speaker 3 (19:36):
First of all, I'm the one who's lucky, because do
you see this drip right here?
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Like I wish I could wear these colors.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
And make them look good.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
I mean it makes my eyes pop.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
I'll be honest. What said all this was probably a
combination of just this look at this, an active imagination,
maybe a little bit of ADHD because I've always enjoyed
portraying this idea of like what if I could do this?
What if I could have a flaming sword that I
could swing a you know, what if I could go
on all these zany adventures. And voice acting was just
the natural next step where it's like, hey, in the booth,
(20:06):
in front of a mic, your brain, everything that comes
up in your mind, you can perform it, you can
become it. And what I like about it especially is
it's never the same thing twice. There's always something a
little different to keep your mind young and fresh, and
we need that in a world today.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
So I'm gonna ask, and I should go. Everybody wants
to know the backstory you wards, but I want to
know are you doing Are you still going to the
studios recording stuff? Are you doing it for more?
Speaker 3 (20:29):
I go to the studios anytime that I can.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
And your partner, you probably miss him when he does this, right, Yes,
she missed the like.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
She missed me so much, actually moved to California. She's
pursuing it herself because she saw me, but so many
I mean, she's gonna fund it. Check out these incredible
fragrances that she makes as.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
It is.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
I was not a perfumed guy or a cologne guy
before she started introducing you to them. And now I'm
wearing one of these every single day.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
All Right, we're having fun and games, but we gotta
tell you, seriously, what voices do you do? Because it's
like you have the time life collection of voices. There's
so many.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
A lot of people know me from the legend is
ISOLDA Breath of the Wild, PERSONA five, I'm sorry, Tokyo
Revengers read zero eating zero. It ranges from video games
to animate to commercials. I really pride myself on having
a wide vocal range. Maybe I'm not like the one
hit wonder like some classics like Don Lafontaine.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
But no, no, already, and I'm an audio guy. Everybody
elses you have a voice. It's just adaptable. Yes, I
throw them on the radio.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Being adaptable is a huge blessing in this industry because
if they trust that, no matter where they put you,
you can do something believable, you instantly become so marketable,
so valuable. And you mentioned earlier about the table, you know,
being able to handle sales, being able to handle conversations,
being able to multitask is such a valuable skill in
so many different industries, not just vo So I mean,
look at you. You're attractive, you've got a good voice,
(21:54):
you dressed well, you got it all.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Like this guy. I like this guy. So let me
ask you something. So, are you auditioning with stuff every day?
But are people pulling you in for stuff because your
a sometimes because you seem like and you probably go
in the booth right and I'm doing it right now.
I notice we're very similar.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
We are.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Your hands are moving, Your hands are moving around when you're.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
In the general rule of thumb in the booth is
as long as it's not hitting the minor getting in
the way of their mouths, anything is fair game. And
I'm very much like a method actor. So if it's
if it's a studious character, you know, I'm standing there
with his hand held up against his glasses. Who hasn't
played an ace attorney game and felt the desire to
go objection at least That's exactly what I'm talking about.
(22:35):
But yes, So, being able to get involved, to have fun,
to not be afraid of being embarrassed, yes, is a
really big part of giving it. You're all, because the
golden rules thumb and acting is If I don't believe it,
how can I expect anyone else to?
Speaker 1 (22:49):
All right, so let's take our way back machine. We're
going back a few years. You're only twenty one. He
just turny one. That was just two years ago. There
were talking about So how did all this start? Did
you want to be an or a voice actor? Was
it one or the other?
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Eyes all of it.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
I had dabbled in theater when I was younger, but
I knew that like the mechanical movements of my body, like,
if it wasn't something I was organically doing, there was
no way I was gonna fake it to look real.
But I had the most active imagination. I was the
kid in the back of class who was like going
off on fifteen minute day dream tangenty Yes, yes.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
So it was.
Speaker 3 (23:19):
It was a natural way to just go, oh my gosh,
I can totally envision being this character. Oh my gosh,
I can totally envision fighting this monster, or what would
be like to look across the horizon in this grassy meadow,
and I think I think the the odyssey of the mind, yes,
is really where I excelled. So it all boils down
to passion. Like people ask what made you decide on
vo and it's like, I couldn't not do it. I
(23:42):
just a natural affinity thing.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
You don't have to comb your hair either, or brush
your teeth or anything. She makes She makes me, She
makes shit.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Fr all right, you.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Didn't mention it. A lot of people want to know
about this Spider Man Peter Parker. Is there two different sounds?
Is there a Peter Parker and a Spider Man? Not really?
So this is the thing.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
When I booked that role, I was absolutely the one going,
oh my gosh, who am I to be in a
role like this? When you consider all the classics that
have played him.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Everybody does.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
But he ended up working out that way because I
ended up using that as part of his psyche of
here's Spider Man relatively fresh out of college entering this
place that has all these established superheroes. He must be
feeling the same way.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Yeah, who am I?
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Why do I belong here? So I definitely made a
distinct choice. Or I was like, let's use that nervousness,
that anxiety, that self doubt and use that as part
of his character arc of where he has to come
into his own and go. Maybe I am the fresh blood,
but that doesn't mean I don't deserve to be here.
In the same way that as a voice actor, I
was very unknown for several years, but I knew I
(24:42):
had what it took, so all that mattered was getting
in there and doing the job that needed to be done.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Congratulations, Man's all right. They want to know because I
want them to follow you social media.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Blue Sky and Twitch are the two big ones, and
they're both the same. It's Sonic Mega like cause I
I was twelve years old that Sonic mat Sonic Mega.
I think Sonic and Mega man, just without the man
because I am a child you.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
He said Twitch. So now I know there's long videos
on there. Oh we have. I've been not like to
see that. Everything uploaded to YouTube. We're not going to
talk about it. You want to see you gotta go
see it, Hey, dude, hot five two of them. Thank
this guy is awesome, find out more of him, following him,
and then when this show airs, you guys, it'll all
be below to follow you and on that and.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Thank you in advance for buying every single one of
my partners. Fragrances.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
That's why.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Guy, that's a guy.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
He's sick.
Speaker 1 (25:30):

this thing is freaking cool and it is huge, So
check it out if you want to as open up
toys that come or Disney Toys or Hasbro toys, all
different ones. Check it out there. It's pretty cool. Also,
(26:11):

it out. The common Book of the Day or Combook
of the week, check it out. We go up to
Mission comics, we ask them all fast and he actually
picked some cool ones for us to check out. And
that's on our social media website Your nerds size all right,
First off, are you still reading common books? Are you
just kind of like stopped.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
I'm just curious, Well, it's expensive and you have I okay,
have I stopped reading common books? I don't think I
have had time to read common book.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
What do you do when you're in the restroom type?
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Oh, it's work.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Oh, when I'm in the restroom, I read well.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
I do read a lot, and that's why I have
to change my prescription maybe every six months.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Now I'm reading what are we read? Oh, I'm reading
The Transformers. Transformers is a fantastic combook.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
I'll be honest, I'm reading. I mean, if you really,
I mean yes, No, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Reading war in peace or.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Reading more about politics and how it affects our future
and the economy and admissions.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Because there's all these So I'll talk to my buddies
and I go, dude, you see what happened now or this?
And like, stop watching the news. You're killing yourself. I'm
not watching watching you listen to the news.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
I read it. I listened to it. I mean reading
knowledge and power. I got to help advocate.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
I'm not saying there's anything wrong.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Why didn't you be your own superhero?
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Oh my god, let me tell you something. I get
the listen.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Andrew Jackson, when he was president, took away so many
of the first nation people. Weird.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
I bet you also slept around with all his servants
and stuff. And denounced the said no, didn't and that
he got yes.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Andrew Jackson didn't know what your friend, how much do
you want to bet the current president is going to
try to have a dollar bill with his face on it?
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Why a dollar bill?
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Any dollar?
Speaker 1 (28:08):
I don't know anything. I'd give him a two dollar bill.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Well, it's one of the we already have a two
dollar bill.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
That's the saying you're as gay as a two dollar bill.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
I've never heard of saying who are you? J? W Rowling?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Go google it.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
I do not want to bet two dollars dollar billet.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
I was just asking her about combooks. I want to
know if you're still reading them or not.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
And when you guys go to the combook store, I'll
sit down, I'll look at stuff. I just I'm going
to read. I'd rather read to my sound Like right
now we're reading How Mary Project.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
That movie looks fantastic.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
It does.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
So I read the book years.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Ago, and you know, here's the thing. I loved it.
It was a great drug and escape. But god, they
take so freaking long, like remember about the clones for
Spider Man and then like even the Wonder Woman one,
Like what do you complain about I don't know, it's
just it's it's I don't know. Everyone seems like a whiner.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
But they only have a week to get ready to
get it published.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Right, No, I understand. It's just think about when Captain
America first came out. Inspired, it gave hope I would
love there.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
When it first came out, they were limited of what
they can say because it was that time. And two, uh,
they didn't have those many magazines. They have so many.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
Okay, so then okay, I'll I'll bring more recent.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
So let's talk about what whit? Why don't they cut
back on the magazines? Why why do they have so
many comic books? Because I always see them boxing up
and sending back the stuff they don't sell. You do
see that, right? I see that a lot. They're oversaturated
with stuff.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Well, isn't that the film and money? I don't know
somethings roight, But listen, the last time I got really
inspired and it wasn't about what they were writing, but
it was interesting. It was like, for example, Witchblay in
nineteen ninety five, Mark so Lestreet, great artist, co creator, right,
founder of Top Cow Productions. Right, so things were really
(30:08):
getting creative. But I don't know. I think that you
are just recycling different ideas now, I mean, but that's something.
Maybe you should bring back co on books, bring back reading.
I mean, that is something because that's what movies are doing,
recycling old ideas. So why don't you do highlight of
a common book of the week.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
That's what we're doing. We are doing it. It's on
at your nerd side.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Oh my god, which comic book are we highlighting?
Speaker 1 (30:32):
The new Batman, Batman Ultimate Batman. It's when it's a
different universe and this Batman has no money, he's broke,
but he has a suit kind of like Iron Man. Okay,
and then it's only a five issue.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Thing, all right, and then I will challenge that for
the Batman Lowers Immortal Legend Batman number one. Critically, it
earned a strong eight point six out of ten. It
just came out I think this week.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Then maybe that's it. I forgot if you're going to.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Do a com book reviews the same freaking together.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
I'm not doing the review. The com book story is
I talked to them about. Okay, I just posted I
got three four five.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Doesn't he sound like the com books I just talked about?
Keep whining.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Do you know why? Because so many issues. That's why
I got to take some back.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Immortal legend Batman number one stands out because it takes
a fresh look at the comic character. Perfect if you're
looking for something that feels new while rooted. So if
you're looking for a Batman in our world life, here
we go solid critical in a strong.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
That I do not know. Jesus, I'll tell you this.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
The thing that I'm happy about most this week there
are no more popcorn buckets coming out.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Okay, I'm going to say this, broke, I'm going to
say this, if if there is not enough college spounder scholarships,
we're selling them all. We're selling them all.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
By the time he's about to go to college, our son,
the president would have shut them all down by that.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
He's on it. He's on He's screaking it happen.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
He's going to take a.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Political university and Columbia bend over for him and say,
we'll give you any data you want. Mother Vedger.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
He is the that that's a hunted house right there.
I know some people show a picture of Trump and
they just run down the hall.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
All right, I'm going to allow you do this. You
have shown a family member a picture of Trump and basically.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Just screamed and ran down the hallway like scared. And
I was like, I looked at it, and I was like,
when did he turn into Michael Myers because I don't
know Michael.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Well, probably south Park? So okay, so let's end it
with the south Park episode. There's a couple of episodes,
I know, but you've heard about it, and the person
in the White House Penis is on the show. I
did not know. Legally, you can show the Little One, Yes,
don't worry seeing it. It's people smaller than you that
if you put eyeballs on it, it is okay to
(33:11):
put it on there. No, NC seventies not considered porn.
Also just because it's a name, it's it's creating a character.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
That's Central Comic Center and get away with cussing, especially after.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Tenneco no no, no no no. But it's not porn.
You don't see porn on on Comedy Central kind of.
But if it's a character, that's how they was able
to put it.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
You know, I've always wanted to know what is legal
to watch porn on there. It's not like in just
Google or go online and it's absolutely free to see.
You don't need do you know what I'm saying?
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Do you want a new co host?
Speaker 1 (33:42):
No? I want someone he knows how to get me
porn faster, not these little penises with eyeballs on it.
That's it. Hey, next week I want to tell you guys, Uh,
we're going to be at a comic con in Sacramento.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
We're just going to be able to name the comic
con SA anime, sac anime And what did you think
at the last that anime?
Speaker 1 (34:00):
It was good. We got to walk around do a
lot of stuff. They're be I'm sure you going long
gad today. They they're being really nice to us. Uh.
They're asking me to do panels like moderate it and
do it. I'm tired. I'm always tired.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
It's hard because I work reading all these comic books.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Uh, I only read the comboos. When I'm going to
the restroom, I would sleep on a toilet like you.
You know you're doing your work. I don't want to
see on the toilet because I can't sleep and do
number two. So I'm not that good AnyWho.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
So Steven Silver, who is the designer, can possible Danny
Phantom is going to be there Popper voices like Troy Baker,
he'll be there. He'll be appearing but Saturday only. He
plays iconic ros.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
And gaming and anime wanting to be there Saturday.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Ashley Johnson, star of Critical Role. She'll be featured in
the Critical Role.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
I'm not putting down comic cons. But when we used
to stay at the hotels, wasn't it a bit too long?
Or did you like seeing the hotels because you went,
you went to the pool and stuff. You like that?
Speaker 2 (35:04):
No, because that pull had a rat dead on the lawn.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Okay, let's say he went to Sacramento. We see the
hotel in Sacramento.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
Yeah. I think if they made it a day and
evening thing, I think that'd be hard for the panel.
As I understand why it's two.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
They do do evening things, but they have parties. I
don't want to go to party.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
I think it's hard for I mean, it's hard for it. Okay,
let's just say, right, Brendon mckeinney, Right, who's going to
be a storyboard artist. He gets NonStop people signing all
day for television animation. That gets exhausting. We saw what
happened with Christopher Lloyd when he was in San Jose,
Like he's like, I'm done, and I know there's an
age issue. But then if Peter Capella is there, the
(35:46):
voice of Silver the Hedgehog and the Sonic of the
Hedgehog video games, and nobody that's not going to happen
comes up to him, he's bored of his mind. He's unhappy.
I mean, those artists that nobody goes up to you
feel so sad for them.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
I do too.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
And if you listen, you don't even.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Interview though, Lougno, nobody went up to him.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Well, talk about the guy. Let's if you know the
name of the Oh my god, star wars mall, what's
his name?
Speaker 1 (36:15):
I know you're talking about Darth Maul.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
Yeah, I know Darth Maul. Yeah. He won't do interviews
because he thinks that's a terrible voice.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
He's fantastic.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
He's making me laugh, So then you shouldn't worry about
your telling me just because of.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
What tell me doesn't laugh?
Speaker 2 (36:28):
You do you squeeze the two fats together, they'll laugh.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
That's in the reason why I'm tired, because I worked
out today too. We'll talk to you next week, I'm
gonna go sleep on the toilet to save
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Time until next time, and be your own superhero save
the world one podcast at a time.
