are always on our YouTube channel. Also, we're talking about
home alone, Christmas, all that good stuff, plus comic Con
(00:45):
how do you even attend? And stranger things, and start
the show. We'll come right where. Once a year, sci
fi buffs take their lips off the barrel of a
loaded gun and spend half a day adjusting their eyes
to summer. So I gotta say, this week's pretty good.
At nb's and studio, she got to watch the first
(01:06):
four episodes of Stranger Things, which I thought was a
bit boring, But it seems the population seems to be
reversed on that. Do you think of it? What do
you think?
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Good? Bad?
Speaker 3 (01:17):
I enjoyed it. There was a point in episode four
where it could have gone a little bit faster, but
you kept walking out. I think it's just the same
kind of theme. I think that's why you were bored.
It wasn't the Pacings the development. It was just more
of that same type of scriptwriting.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
This is the thing. They're supposed to be kids that
look like they're twenty eight years old.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
You've been complaining about this for two years.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
They look so old. Now they look oiled. Here's the thing.
They always have this like thing where you know, if
we do this and this, and we do this in
the circumference of the circles, this and this and this.
I don't know about you, but I want to go
to Hawkings High because the education lit off of that
of that public school is even more advanced.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
My god, when they were talking about world wait, wait,
what is it called wormholescuse? Yeah, I was like only
of public education. Was that good? So if you didn't
see it, and probably just the eighties or seventies.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
They're from the eighties, Are you sure? That's why we
talk about That's why they talk about the flex capacitor
and they talk about that. Ah huh. And they all
the songs are eighties songs. Yes, it's from the eighties,
and that's why they have eight track Walkman and all
that stuff and skateboard. Yes, it's eighties. It is eighties.
So if you didn't see the show on Netflix, it's
(02:47):
out is the final, final, fifth season. They keep adding
stuff to the upside down world. This time we find
that Will buyers powers. He has powers now and he's
connected up to the know what are they call the
what are the monsters called the the soccers or whatever?
The soccers Stockers, Yeah, stockers sto the ones that run
(03:08):
out to go do all the bidding for.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
The guy the the demo, I can't even say it,
the the demo, go.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Ahead, I'm waiting.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
I'm waiting for you.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I don't know. I walked in and out.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
I walked in and out of the show since episode one.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Yeah, episode one was like, uh, ten years ago. Dude,
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
In every single episode.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Are the monsters it's a demon Gordon.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
You played Dungeons and Dragons.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Hears demon Gordon? Or is it demo Gordon demo?
Speaker 3 (03:47):
It must be not the demo demo Gordon Demo Gordon.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Okay, I'm pulling it up right now.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
I'm spelling d E m O g.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
O r g O n Oh, demo demo. There's a
mind Flyer of Vecna Dema Dogs starting. Yeah, yeah, but
these are a different ones, and the Spider Monsters among others.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Yeah, the mind Flair, the Dema Dogs, Vetna. Yeah, those
are all the main ones. And so it seems that
Vetna aka Henry aka spoiler alert mister, what's it?
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yeah, what's it's Henry?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Well, yes, I just said.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
They called the When I saw this on here, they
broke it down. He's a younger version of the Dema Gorgans,
resembling a dog like creatures with sharp teeth. That's what
he says. No, no, I'm sorry, a powerful being with psychobilabilities.
Originally human, he mutated due to the upside down.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
So remember Hawkins had this lab and Henry is as
you already know from season four was the original one
and are we going to go into spoilers.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Now the people probably know. So they were the original
ones they were trying to train to have psyched abilities.
She was the first one, and of course eleven is
the big one, so she was and.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
She was the last one that we know of, right.
But the thing is, what's a big surpriser right from
the last episode four is that number eight comes back,
So we eleven finds that she has her kryptonide of
projecting these sound waves. That is that created by eight?
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I don't know, ways or.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Is that just a technology they developed.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I don't know. That's the thing I don't remember. I
do remember that, remember they were all together and they
escaped from the place and the few of them were
sticking together. There's another season of the It was like
seven and eight and nine and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
So that was season two. So a lot of Peper
wondering what happened to her in three and four because
she did escape and she was wondering why was she
so aka useless? But she definitely was not useless, as
you could see her being used by doctor k who
Aaron was like, whoa isn't she from Terminator? Yes, Linda Hamlet.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Always used stars.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
I know him.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
So, but what did you think of the show though?
I mean, like did you did you really enjoy it
or kind of ran on or it was kind of
like it's kind of the same thing. It's always repeating
over and over and over again.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
I think I do, but I don't think you enjoyed
the relationship as much, like Lucas really being focused, like
he is like so loyal, willing to be a teenage rebellion.
It feels like they're like the only black family there.
But I don't understand that, like where's the diversity in
the community? But AnyWho? Uh, but Lucas being there for
(06:45):
Max that was really kind of sad. When we get
this next reveal, do you want to talk about Max?
Speaker 1 (06:51):
You can tell us about him.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
It's a her, the Redhead.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
I don't know the names.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
You are totally out of this, No, A stranger.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
I kind of died off on. It's just not as
good as it used to be.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Okay, So why am I Why do I have to
wait watching it with you?
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Because I want to see you what I'm not going
to sit there?
Speaker 3 (07:09):
It is okay? So for the so okay, so Lucas
is being great, and Max, who's still in the coma.
As you know, she was torn into pieces, broken all
these bones, but Eleven helped her psyche to stay intact
enough where she becomes a heroine to help Holly. Yes, Holly,
(07:33):
who is Nancy's younger sister, to be Holly the heroic.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
There's a lot of people if you've got to fall along.
Sometimes I lose track of this.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
I know, but these are all the same characters for
many episodes in many seasons.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
I know. But they took such a long frick Okay,
I mean me, did they take a long It was
too long of a break?
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Did you buy an extra violin? Because it's not stopping?
Speaker 1 (07:55):
All right? So here, here's here's the deal. It's coming
back down December. Well, here's the fan theories. I really
like what you did. And Envy pulled this up. Ven
Henry Leeve's residue a psychic imprint, which is I thought
was amazing that he.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Didn't explain to the audience what's going on for spoiler
or it's like, what where is the theory to build
it up?
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Well, he leaves the psychic imprint in them when he
does something to them, in their brains, so they kind
of feel what's going on.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
That is the theory. Yeah, that's why Max has a
conscious and developed into I don't know if she developed
this cave or the cave was developed because of Henry's psyche.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
I have no idea, but whatever she did, she did.
But I'm talking about where Will. Will is the kid
that was in the original episode that was kidnetnapped. Yeah,
but he has a psychic imprint or a residue because
at the end of it, the big spoiler was he
had all these powers. His eyes and went white and
he made all the uh what you call it, the seekers,
they call him the Seekers, that's their nickname. And he
(08:55):
had them stop the demigogue going stop and then you
from killing all his friends and the mom and he
just totally killed him and smashed him up, just destroyed him.
So it looks like he has a lot of power.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Well, Thus the title of that episode you could see
on Netflix episode four is the Sorcerer, So he becomes
a sorcerer like Indugenes and dragons and basically he becomes
a seeker to Vetna. So it now game on. So
the question is is now that Holly and the other
kids that he takes. Are they going to have that
(09:29):
residue based but are they because they stayed long enough
or not long enough? And why does he have these kids?
One thing we did not put in about theories is
I think he needs those kids because he drains their life.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
And or their essence or something like that. Yeah, so
he keeps kidnapping all the kids in the town, and
he's putting all his and if you're seeing the series,
you've probably seen those those like branches he has. It
goes out like the weeds he has. The weeds actually
go into their face and he's sucking their essence out
or whatever. But that's how we think that will guide
his connection to the mind Flyers and Henry and Veka
(10:02):
and all that stuff like that. So I'm just saying
I was, it's just the same things they're trying to
get down there. Try there, you know, it happen. I
like when they threw me for loops, they didn't throw
me for any big loops. I kind of had a
feeling that Will was going to have this power. I
don't know why. I just had that feeling. But here's
the thing I did catch. You guys, watch this. He
(10:23):
looks like a geek with a bowl cut. He looks
dumb and kind of goofy, you boo. But at the
end of the series, at the end of the episode
when the until December, he looked h had been kind
of good looking like he never did before, Like he
was in the eighties, maybe he was in the nineties. Now.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Well, if you've seen him in a lot of different episodes,
you know Noah Snap, who plays Will Buyers, is a
very stylish young man. So that bow haircut they actually
talk about and like it's not in style. So he's
been acting for a long time and does have only
(11:00):
one upcoming thing, which is still Stranger Things the TV series,
that's it.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
I just feel like there were too many, too many
characters literally wrapped around each other that I was going
back and forth and back and forth. You had to
follow the kids, so they're a thing that break them out,
and then the other one, and then hoppers downstairs with eleven,
and then the other ones on the roof of some
place calling what's going on. Then we got to fall
(11:27):
where the security do you see what I mean, there's
a lot going on.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
I'm not disagreeing, you really have to, but this is
a lot going down.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
I know they're trying to wrap it up, but.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I was like, but I think they were assuming everyone's
invested in the characters. I do like to I do
appreciate dipshit Derek. I do like that characteristick Derek.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Of course you do. Okay, I wait, shoot.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Other questions, real quest Yeah, I know we have a lot,
but you didn't talk about the other spoiler where Charlie Keaton,
who plays the brother of Will, he has an engagement ring.
Any shock her.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
There, No, he's gonna ask her to marry her. He
loves her, Okay. I kind of figure he's well, that's
usually how you build up love of things, like just
because I'm fighting with you. As I saw that, and
I was like, yeah, I knew something was I had
that feeling all the time, like he's he was so
jealous of the other guy.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
And yeah, and what about Kara Buano who plays Karen
Wheeler When she fights back, were you expecting that with
the demigoden with her wine bottle glass.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Yes, they dis expect that, but I expect her to
get her face all chopped up, and she did get
a chopped up. She has she had her throat cut
and everything like that. The mom of Holly who's trying
to protect the kids. Yeah I expected that. Okay, good,
I did put that. So you put down here and
I like this. I always give any mv uh stuff
about this. Who is number eight and it's Kelly prossed
(12:50):
and why she matters again, she's introduced to season two
as one of the other Hawkins Lab kids with powers illusion, hallucination,
and manipulation. That was her big powers.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Yeah. So the key thing is once the season's over,
So I did cut off Fonseeka, so they'll be around Christmas,
be another set of episodes, and then again in the
New Year's But guess what, the brothers are going to
continue this in another Stranger Things universe, so this would
be an ongoing TV series, probably with different actors. I'm
(13:22):
out there, so the Deffer brothers will be playing.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
This out all right?
Speaker 1 (13:27):
So did you like it? Yes? Or no? You can
be honest. You don't have to lie, no lift service. Yeah,
how you liked it? I thought it was okay. It
was something to watch over the Thanksgiving break. That's that's
all I felt about it. Yeah, it was all right,
So sell sell show. It was the best thing really fast.
Later on the show, we're going to have a voice artist.
We got one more thing. We'll talking about Megan Holland's
(13:48):
head voice on Pokemon. She played Nurse Joy, a lot
of pokeon Yu Gi oh, and the list goes on
and on. Oh, let me see a Sonic X Mermaid
Forrest Ultimate Muscle param Oh my god, she did a lot,
a lot of stuff. We'll get into that really fast.
We want to talk about with Coulleague Culkin was in
the news again and this is pretty interesting. McCaulay Culkin,
(14:10):
the actor, the main actor from who played you know,
Home Alone of Colleagues one to two and did some
other things. Actually just recently said that he's interested in
doing a Home Alone Part three, but only if it's
a good script. But he says he has an idea.
He wants to be a divorced dad in Chicago and
(14:33):
he's not really good to his kid, and he's a
bad divorced dad or a single dad, and his kid
locks him out of the house and it's going to
teach him something and all that stuff. So he's got
to get back into the house to his kid. Generate adverse,
he has Chris Columbus if you'd like to do this,
But prior to that two wins prior, Chris Columbus is
on a red carpet. They're asking him would there be
(14:55):
a reboot or another Home Alone? He says, no, that
was something he did thirty years ago, that it was
a certain time and it was lightning in a bottle.
You don't want to do it again. But remember it's
a different story, it's a different version. Is it gonna happen? Well,
everybody's waiting on Chris Columbus to answer this. If you
want to do this Home Alone three, where mcaulay culpkin
is back as an adult. I don't know. Does it
(15:17):
sound industring? Yes?
Speaker 3 (15:18):
It does?
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Am I a little scared? Yes? Sometimes when they touch
this stuff it does ruin lightning in the bottle, So
I don't know, maybe or maybe not. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Did you know that he's in the Zutopia two movie
that's going crazy in the box.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Office because it broke the record for the biggest opening
for a animated movie ever. You Topia too, got it
well got a ninety one percent of Rotten Tomatoes, and
from the pop meter from people, he's got a ninety
five oh, that's the first Utopia? What about part two?
Speaker 2 (15:50):
First? Oh?
Speaker 1 (15:51):
No, Part two ninety one percent? Ninety five percent from
the audience, clever, Laryan Thrawfel message, action, fuel, love it,
sympathy to the great reviews, everything's great.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
So so what made you not go to the movie theater?
Speaker 1 (16:07):
I just didn't want to waste money in the movie.
It's probably gonna be on very very things are coming
on on Disney Plus and the other stuff. Why go
to the movies when you can watch it at home eventually?
Speaker 3 (16:17):
So well, guess what in your opinion about season five?
Stranger Things Brought and Tomatoes got a ninety one percent
see season four?
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Look at that it lost a whole nine points. Didn't
get one hundred percent. That's just sad. That says, if
you guys can't pull up one hundred percent, what are
you thinking? That's it's just bad. That's really okay.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
But I noticed you didn't talk about anything about Running Man.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Though, because it did. It flopped. It's one of the
biggest flops of the made the top five flops of
the year. Spent so much money to getting I thought
it was a great movie. I enjoyed it.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
I liked from fans.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
I don't do. You just didn't want to go see it.
There's a lot of people, you know, things have changed,
and I'm proved positive it is. All movies are going
to be on demand. People are designing their houses to
watch entertainment at home, movies just going to movie theaters
(17:13):
like appay the But you know.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
What I mean, I mean, like, I don't know, you're
yawning a lot there, my friend. Well, I think listen,
I'm getting the five Nights tickets. It's almost thirty bucks
each for not a Matt tinee ye and you know,
and unless you have kids, I mean, it hasn't made sense.
(17:36):
Why to go to the movie now?
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Five nights? Is that a movie I'd pay to go see. No,
I'd wait for it to be on a home video
or ice home video. I'm old on demand. It's just
one of those movies. There has not. The only movies
I saw wanted to see were Tron and Running Man.
Nothing else has made me go, wow, I've got to
see that on a big screen. Tront had to be
(17:59):
on a big screen because the visuals of it was fantastic, fantastic,
and I want to see Arnold Swarzniker is going to
be in another the next movie, and he even makes
cameo money, So I was upset about that.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Yeah, but now, but Tron made about seventy three million,
So was that considered a success one hundred and forty
two million.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
No, they lost money on it, So I.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Mean, okay, but you're you're defeating the purpose. So there
has to be more than visual. There has to be
no of course, this is the reason why there's sequel.
So that's one thing I wanted to talk about their
sequel sequel Segut Five Nights. Freddy's going to be a sequel?
Running Man? Was it a secret? But it was a remake? Yeah,
Wicked for Good is a sequel. Avatar is it going
(18:45):
to be a sequel? Zootopia is a sequel, And I
think executives are just too fearful of doing anything original.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
I know that you the you Got to Remember the Times.
Is Steven Spielberg creating something brand new? Have been gone
for years? Et Close Encounters, Poltergeist, Jaws, George Lucas, Star Wars,
people trying to go. I got an idea and I
want to do this. It's just it's just not happening.
(19:15):
Well even right, Well, I think Pixar is failing too.
Like Eloy it was a flop.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Yeah, but you know, I hear that at Pixar is
not the happiest place on Earth. It's like there's a
lot of stress and tension, you know. I mean it's
hard corporate top Gun. They became recovered.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Yeah, there's nobody there. I heard they don't have their
scooters at the last to scoot around from place place.
Food was abundant, They had yoga classes. That stuff is
not there anymore.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
However, though you know there are some And this is
also the sequel thing. It's also international. So Niza is
the number one movie of twenty twenty five, making almost
two billion dollars. Have you ever heard of it?
Speaker 1 (20:00):
I've never heard of it.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
So Niza is an animerid series and it's a sequel
to Made Out of China, very popular, and then one
two Ane Space Zha and then another one Demon Slayer,
which you have seen in Universal Studios six hundred and
(20:22):
sixty two, but no one's really talked about it. But again,
the Infinity Castle is based on the movie from a teaser,
so I do agree. Not the original ideas like Sinners.
Sinners domestically was amazing, Right, Sinners did a great job.
But even though Minecraft was number one domestically, number three,
(20:45):
expect nationally, they expected. But these are not original ideas
like you're talking about, except for Sinners. So we just
need some young maybe people out there or people new times.
I think about the Quiet Place. The Quiet Place was amazing.
Yeah that was good, so scary, right.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
But like something like Gremlins, But don't read doo Grim
even though we're getting a new one. You know what
I'm saying. But yeah, I know, but like the.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Running Man that we're doing, I mean, like Predator. Now
you see me? Now you don't like what did some
broadcasters say? Like I didn't know we needed to see
and now you see me again?
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Right, I didn't even know that came out.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
It did come out.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
I did not even know that came out. All right,
let's get a quick interview. We're gonna come right back
and then I'm going to talk about one more thing.
They're gonna wrap up the show, all right. Megan Holland,
head voice artist actress. We talked to her to Comic Con.
If you want to see the videos are up on
YouTube on your nerd side, your nerd side. Uh, just
on YouTube, your nerd side interviews. Just looking at it
(21:42):
there right, check this out. So my favorite thing about
doing this show is I get to hang out people
like this, Megan.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
That's really sweet. Did I see it right?
Speaker 1 (21:50):
I want to make you Holland's head, hollins head, All right, now,
I'm a genius. All right, guess all right, we're done.
Let's go wrap it out. My name, right, that's all
you need. Okay, So we're going to get into your
voice and stuff. But I people like to know these things.
How did this start? Were you and actress? Or were
you just luck it happened? And some people see a.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Little bit of both. I was doing theater.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
I do a lot of theater in New York for
no money, as one does when one one is a
struggling actor.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
And the thing I love about acting is the community.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
So I met a lot of great people, yes, a
lot of great people who were also struggling and working
our way up. And one of those very kind people said,
do you do voiceovers?
Speaker 3 (22:35):
And I said yes, So I got an audition.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
To be honest, we're going back so that day, did
you really do voiceovers?
Speaker 3 (22:43):
No, I've never done it before, but I figured that's
how you do it. That's how you do it.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
You gotta you lie on the set. If they say
you can drive a car and you don't know how
I know how to drive a car, I'll learn that day.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
You're right, right, And as actress, we learned from improv
say yes.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
So I was like, okay, I'll do it and uh
uh and I did.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I learned kind of at the audition the techniques I need. Yeah,
And theater lends itself really well to voiceover. So went
from theater to Pokemon once I did.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Poke Poking one.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Isn't that crazy? It's I was so lucky, so so luppy.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
So did you have of course you did the all
the voice overs, the redubbing for.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
That and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
I dub and it's a different world. We talked about
this before and I talked to you. Yeah, and we've
a Terry stands a front of ours. Yeah, it's a
different kind of voiceover because you are they're translating in.
Sometimes doesn't always make the sense. Did you have to
go back sometimes or we cross out stuff like I
don't know about this, or you just read no.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
As an actor, it's not really our job to change
the script. Occasionally things don't fit. If the writer has
struggled with the line, then the director will say, let's
try it this way or let's try it that way.
But as an actor, I can give suggestions.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Yeah, yeah, but I.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Don't have much say in the script. I just read
the script.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Watch the character's mouth moves.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Act.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
I love she's doing this and she's still talking to you.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
It's what I love about it is that you do
everything at once and so forget about all your other problems. Yeah,
you forget about the world. You're just like so focused
at least Dian.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
That's how it is.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
So I'm looking at this table of the voice you did.
How many voices are you still doing? To be just yeah,
how many?
Speaker 3 (24:29):
I've been really lucky.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
I've done about one hundred rolls whom thank you.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
I love them all. I love them.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
I know they're still coming. That's amazing.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Yeah, Rong Geek, you in particular is back in the
in Bleach thousand year Blood War, and I'm super proud
of that. I was so psyched to have her back.
Nurse Joy I was the original Nurse Joy, and I
had the privilege of coming back as Nurse Joy for
Pokemon journeys.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
That was just.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
They are they are calling you back from certain things.
Oh we got again, Megan. Megan's this voice, this poice.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
Is really sweet.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
So social media people want to get more about you
all your stuffing. What is your social media handle?
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Meghan Holling said vo And I'm on Instagram mostly on
on Instagram.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Send me a note and I'll get back right away.
But I'd love to hear from you that.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Do you see that She'll reach out to you, and
it's all below here. We're gonna put it down below
here for you guys. Megan, You're awesome. I'm going to
run in you so many times when I do comic cons, absolutely,
and I like to host the panels. I am going
to ask them if I can host your panel? Can
we do that? I love to have you so much
fun on jas Yes, it has so much mon not
doing the panel, I love it. Always subscribe to our
podcast our website. You can find them on there, your
(25:39):
nerd side dot com, or just go on our YouTube page.
We got stuff up there. You check out lots of
different things. All right, we were talking about a lot
of movies. Things are changing on that good stuff. So
I noticed you, did you really want to go to
this comic cond I mean everyone asked you if I
was going to go to it. We had fan Fast
San Francisco and it was in town this weekend, and
the last time we went. I would talk to the
(26:01):
publicity people and we ran ads for them. I had
the company I worked for at the time rent ads
for them, and we're promoting like crazy. They're in San
Francisco and on stuff during Thanksgiving weekend. But here's the deal.
They gave me one free ticket to go, and then
I showed up my son and you and I had recorders.
I mean, you just hold stuff for me and do stuff.
(26:22):
They wouldn't let me in. I had to pay a
ticket for you and for him, so it ran about
two hundred something dollars. Then I got in and I said,
who can interview? And they're like, yeah, you can't interview anybody.
And I said, okay, so who can I cover for
this event? Like you can walk around and you can
you can take pictures of anything you want. And so
I wasn't allowed to interview anybody. I wasn't allowed to
(26:44):
host a panel wasn't doing anything and it costs a
lot of money. So this why didn't go well?
Speaker 3 (26:48):
I was still in shock that you did not see
William Shatner.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
But I know he didn't want to do an interview.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
You didn't want him to die on you.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
I don't want to die. His eyes were all you know,
when you get to a certain they had red eyes back.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
One thing is it wasn't I, it wasn't Vizena. And
what type of eyes are those? Any who? So FanFest
are known to have amazing celebrities. You have the notes
there of who came on, great interaction from people from
Star Wars, from Mandalorian. Who are the other celebrities that
(27:24):
were there?
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Uh uh, Gen Carlo s Zito, Mary Mouser, Cobra, Kai
Amily Swallow, Armor Mandalorian, Keith David Voice Legend Gargoyles Going North,
and Troy Baker Powerhouse Game Voice Duo, Varanka Taylor original
ash Ketchum. That's huge, comic creator jay Lee Ray Ottley,
(27:46):
J Betley, A lot of it.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
So a lot of them are really friendly. But two things,
the prices are extraordinary to just get anything side It's
all over on social media. People are like what the
fudge They scheduled it where they was a panel or
meet and greet at the same time. So there's a
lot of conflicts of scheduling. And if you've ever been
(28:09):
in a Moscone Center, they probably went to the cheap one,
because there's Moscone Center is huge. There's actually a couple
of different locations. If they went to the same one
when the last air, it's not the easiest to get
around because it's they choose the cheaper one to make
more money. So I will say this, I heard about
(28:31):
it on the news. I was surprised we weren't there.
Didn't know if you weren't honoring the holidays. Of course
the news blasted I was a great way for cosplay
and all these celebrities actors. However, though, just let you
know the price tag. Everyone saying like, how is this
more expensive than Silicon Valley Comic Con?
Speaker 1 (28:51):
So that Silicon Valley Comic Con or even Stockton Con.
Galaxy kan well, Galaxy Con.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Galaxy Con is not a major city.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Klichkun they do in santo's A, but some of the
stars there are amazing. They have I mean for Galaxy
Con is so fan fest. All it is is they're
paying people go there to sign your autographs, and the
fans are the ones that put together to make it
more entertaining. The one to go to is Galaxy con
Stock to Con. It's just they're more people friendly and
(29:21):
they're more affordable prices. When I found out that Mark
Hamill was there and it was one thousand, five hundred
for an autograph, how that? What is the fun of
just going up something trying to get an autograph?
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Well, when I met Hugh Jackman, one of the nice
thing is that if you wanted an autographer and meet
and greet, your money went to charity. And so that
made it a little bit worse and attacks right off too.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
But some of these artists, and I'm not trying to
put them down.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
There, this is the way of putting them down because
they didn't use you as a host.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
No no, no, no, no, it's it's it's it makes me.
Some of the artists, this is this is how they
this is how they make money.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
We boys remember when they started. This is like doing
Pete Rose days. I remember the news when kids are
like they're charging me for them to sign my ball,
to sign the cards. Do you remember when that's Yeah,
when we were little, so this is like a half
century ago, like you too.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Don't you. I hate to say this because some of
them this is their livelihood and that's the only way
they make money.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Of the that's it.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
They're just not they're not. I mean like there's some
people are that were famous for doing this, this and this,
and the roles aren't coming role, but they still appreciate
that they did. I'm just making it up like they're
the voice of speed racer. I don't know who it is.
I don't time, but that's always God. He's not getting
anymore and they're just you. But it would be nice
if you paid an entrance fee and then when you
(30:47):
got there you got to meet these people and they
signed free, or you do a donation for something. That
would be nice. And I'm totally shooting myself in the
foot because you know a lot of you.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Don't know because if you were famous, like a one
hit Wonder, I need these guys, right, you need this. However, though,
I really wish that the studios did it back in
the days like Wonder con over about ten years ago,
where it was just the movie studos backing it. Maybe
(31:17):
they gave a little bit money for everybody else. It's
just something that's it's really.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
I liked when they used to give all the giveaways too,
all the shirts, I know, the hats, the special limited
edition only because you saw the the advanced screening of something.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
Maybe that's what's missing right now from this too. Because
everyone's saying about money and only money, they're forgetting about
community and like I mean, think about pre COVID. We
used to get freebie stuff going to premieres or go
to the first shows. We're getting that a little bit.
But that's maybe what's missing the community.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
They're selling the popcorn buckets and that's what you get.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Well, yeah, but they're fifty sixty bucks for those suckers
who buy them. Listen, I do the trivia for you.
They were hating on an organization, but it's something that
the community needs to realize. Here's my trivia for you.
What do you think are the top three all time
Christmas movies? As we get it ready for December? And
(32:17):
I know you're gonna get them all wrong.

Speaker 3 (32:22):

Speaker 3 (32:37):

Speaker 3 (32:42):

Speaker 1 (32:46):

Speaker 3 (32:47):

Strange Things number third two Tokyo Godfathers number sixteen, Never
see the Dangle. A Christmas Year is seventeen. Now I
would say this, and I'm going to end in the
up to twenty. I Love It Ever Season nineteen nine,
Number eighteen.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
I hated that one.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
That's not a Christmas movie. Actually it is, so we
know that writers in that too. But Vincent Price is
in there.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
Yeah, it's his last one. We ever did there?
Speaker 3 (34:28):
We go Rare Exports A Christmas Tale twenty ten nineteen
and Oh my God, put Away those leg Lamps A
Christmas Story nineteen eighty three. Top twenty.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
I thought Christmas Stat's what I was thinking about. I
thought it'd be higher. How number was it?
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Number twenty And we'll go back to this with there's
Gremlins kiss kids.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
The only ones. I think. It's a wonderful life.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
ELF number seven, twenty seven, ELF, I don't know, then

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Yeah, it is a Christmas movie. It actually is. All right,
