The first recorded reference of the phrase being used was on Thursday May 3, 1979, the day of the 1979 UK General Election in which Margaret Thatcher was elected as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. To express their support before the votes were counted, her political party, the Conservatives, purchased a half-page advertisement on page 13 of the London Evening News reading "Dear Maggie, May the Fourth Be with You. Your Party Workers."[
In the 1988 episode of Count Duckula, "The Vampire Strikes Back", a space-faring superhero, Tremendous Terrance, asks Duckula the date and is told, "May the Fourth". As Terrance departs, he tells all below, "May the Fourth be with you."
The phrase was used in a UK Parliament defence debate on May 4, 1994.
Astrophysicist and author Jeanne Cavelos used the saying on page 94 of her 1999 book The Science of Star Wars.

he is told made the fourth. As Terrence departs, he
tells all below, may the Fourth be with you. So
some people say it's to claim, but they say that

uses saying on page ninety four for nineteen ninety book

gonna go into a little bit of May the fourth
from disney Land, and then we're gonna come back and
I'm gonna break it down because I could not there
was so much stuff to do on May the fourth,
I couldn't do everything. I'm gonna tell you some of
the eating, some of the opportunities to do there, some

of the things to do. And I'm telling you you
get an opportunity if you can just do with one
visit Disneyland for May the fourth, or at least Season
of the Force, which they call it. They used to
only do it like one or two days, but it's
gotten so popular. Do it in a few days. Across
the park. It's your nerd side. May the fourth be
with you. It is your nerd side, and we're live

Darth Maul. He was no, he stayed high in a way.

where do you get this popcorn bucket? And they said
to me, like, oh, we sold out like two weeks ago.
I guess people resell and stuff like that. So these
popcorn buckets. Bought a tont On popcorn bucket. I'll show
you to a little bit. But these popcorn buckets for
Star Wars sell out like crazy. All right, we're gonna
take pictures and I'm gonna see if we can meet
someone like a Jahwa or a Sith Lord or something.

a little information about all Stars itself. Did you know
May the fourth didn't originate in the United States, started
in Canada in nineteen eighty one, all the fanboys and everything.

Eighty one in Canada, they had a movie premiere. They
did trivia contest the whole nine yard. So Star Wars,
which started in America, started in Canada. Thank you to

giving away jerseys to people. The Giants bark fantastic. And
I had my blue milk today and I'm gonna have
more blue milk all this weekend now at Disneyland. The

the food itself is amazing. Listen to this all right, Uh,
Star Wars Galaxy Edge of the Document seven. They had
a taste of Dhalu City Kat Saga's Kettle. It had
the Paulu Bosom Delight milk stands. They had a green
and of course are green and blue milk. And they

also had mango popping spheres. Ogu's Cantina, we didn't go
into it. I couldn't even get in there. Ogu's Cantina
went many times, but couldn't get in there. To Glad
to grill went a little bit more. And you know
that is up by fantasy Land. They added more Star
Wars pizza, Star Wars cupcakes, Star Wars Oh my god. Oh.
And they had these these these donuts set up like

Princess Leah bun cakes. They were so good. My buddies
ate it. I didn't. I stay away from sugar as
much as possible. The food went on and on and on,
so a lot of people sat there and the merch.
Let me get into the merch right now. So usually
I go to Disneyland and I buy these T shirts
that say May the Fourth be with you with a
simple thing. But for some reason, Disney has been putting

I'm sorry, Disney, I'm saying this, but I gotta be honest.
They've been putting out these T shirts where they put
these pictures and stuff on it, and they look really
I don't know how do I say it hip ish.
I don't like that. I like the old retro Star
Wars stuff. Very simple, just represent that. I like May
of the Fourth. I went through the store, and I
have videos of me going through all the merchandise, and

I even said on camera, this is ugly, this is
ugly and expensive. Listen to this. You'll hear this nitbit.

fourth be with you and celebrate the May fourth. We're
here at Disneyland. We're gonna go more stuff, see more people,

So we're celebrated a twentieth anniversary for this. Yes, we're
Revenge of the Sith twenty years. You can go to

of Return of the Jedi. Instead of Return of the Jedi,
it was Revenge of the Jedi, and they changed.

for this, uh, believe it or not. The May the
fourth was never celebrated by Lucasfilm or anybody. It wasn't
until two thousand and three when Disney purchased lucasfilm that
they started coning the phrase and using it more and
actually took the celebration of May the Fourth Be with you.
That's true, So Disney's pushing in. It's celebrated across the

world right now and all Disney parks. Here's another thing
that you might be a little surprised to know. So
today is May the fourth that we're celebrating, but tomorrow's
May May the Sith be with You, the celebration of
the next day. So here's a question for you to

It looks fantastic. Well, it looks like Disneyland is getting
into it and a galaxy's edge. Throughout the night they
did different projections up there. Now this one that they
did and I'm gonna play the audio. You've got to
see the video. It was beautiful. It's called the Skywalker
Saga and they do it twice a night. It goes

from Anakin what He's born all the ways to Luke
Skywalker and it shows different cartoons up there, and they
show up from him fighting obi Wan. This is Anakin
and obi Wan till he goes into hath and when
Darth Vader fights his son and blows up the Death Star,
the final everything and e walks and just listen to this,

Space mount It's called hyper Space Melt. All right, I'm

It's a little tipid, you know, when I do stuff
for Disney as they began to do that now, believe

it or not, Space Mountain wasn't originally gonna be here.
It's gonna be different. This is actually put together in
their seventies. They're thinking about doing it. It's a two
tracks put together. They're going to intertwine with each other,
and the mountain is gonna be bigger. But due to
this contraint, you know, constraints on on size on stuff,
they had a size down Space mount a little bit.

Now, remember this is different.

It's not Space Mountain. It's hyper Space Mountain. A lot
of inner stuff of all Star Wars. It's getting darker.

we get on the ride. So we got kicked off
a hyper space mountain at a Space mountain. There was
somebody alarm went off. They say, if you got to
exit for your own safety. Not only was it Space Mountain,

but Star tours, the stores, everything like that. They said,
I don't know what happened, but they kicked everyone off.

Shopping it down. I want to tell you guys some
stuff that I get to do or I didn't even
get to do it at Disneyland. Now, these are the
cool things you can do. They call it the other
Worldly Entertainment, a gathering of the existence with ray. It's
near the Millennium Falcons Smugglers Run. It happened at nine
to fifteen, ten twenty and eleven twenty five. I couldn't

do that late Saber instructional and it's at Fantasy Theater.
That was at nine ten forty five eleven forty five.
I couldn't even do that, it was so busy. Uh
was this one Figer in Danne and the model nodes
rivers in America. I think that's the CANTEENA van missed
them this year. And that's my favorite thing. That Dun
(23:42):
Dun Dun Dun Dun d d the Foends of the
Forest costume cavalade. That means everyone who was dressed up
had a parade around and showed around the park. I
totally missed that it was any other park. The thing
is sometimes with these these this festival is that even
with the time allowed, you just get so tired. You
(24:02):
just get tired because you gotta go off from one
place to the other. It's hard to do everything. But
it's good, there's more. It's better they have more to
do than less to do. And then you go, wow,
there's not very much to do. And then there were
shadows of Memory of skywalkersaga which I played for you earlier,
and fon Farewell at Main Street USA. Now down main
Street again. They did all the the asteroids going down
(24:24):
the street on one and then one side of the
main street was a good side. It was blue and
the other side was red, and then you wander back.
You can take pictures either behind the Imperial logo or
the Jedi logo or the Rebel logo as they had
it set up. So they had all that set up there,
so there were so many things. They gave us a
(24:46):
little piece of paper which was a map. Are like that.
I try to do it off the app but then
through the night things just got constantly like it's just like, oh,
we gotta be out here, we gotta be out here.
And then I had some friends that are the crew there,
the cast members. I'm like, where are we going to
be for this? You got to be over there at
this time and they got to be able to hear
at eight forty five. So to run over to one
(25:07):
thing that was really good and we wanted to film
it this year. We're trying some different We were filming
and using the audio from the film for the podcast.
I thought that work out really good, but on on
I thought it went it was fantastic. I was tired.
One cool thing that flipped me out. You heard it earlier.
I talked about the popcorn buckets, but got my ton
tan popcorn bucket didn't get the Death Star. There's a

Jawa zipper wasn't released yet. Everyone's asking about that. The
Clone Trooper helmet. That's a popcorn bucket. They're mailing that
to us. I asked them to mail it to us.
And they're adding four more Star Wars ones that aren't
released yet. I don't know what they are, but I'll
find out. Also, I want to say thank you to
Disney for the new they sent me up. And I
just want to say thank you guys so much. They

sent me the from Star Tours, the shuttlecraft. They sent
me a model of that. They sent me a C
three pill in the chair from the Star Tours thing,

Just this weekend, I was at the San Fransco Giants
game in San Francisco where a home office is. Yes,

from disney Land, and then we're gonna come back and

was so much stuff to do on May the fourth,

the eating, some of the opportunities to do there, some

of the things to do. And I'm telling you you
get an opportunity if you can just do with one
visit Disneyland for May the fourth, or at least Season
of the Force, which they call it. They used to
only do it like one or two days, but it's
gotten so popular. Do it in a few days. Across
the park. It's your nerd side. May the fourth be

Star Wars sell out like crazy. All right, we're gonna

I had my blue milk today and I'm gonna have
more blue milk all this weekend now at Disneyland. The

the food itself is amazing. Listen to this all right, Uh,
Star Wars Galaxy Edge of the Document seven. They had
a taste of Dhalu City Kat Saga's Kettle. It had
the Paulu Bosom Delight milk stands. They had a green
and of course are green and blue milk. And they

also had mango popping spheres. Ogu's Cantina, we didn't go
into it. I couldn't even get in there. Ogu's Cantina
went many times, but couldn't get in there. To Glad
to grill went a little bit more. And you know
that is up by fantasy Land. They added more Star
Wars pizza, Star Wars cupcakes, Star Wars Oh my god. Oh.
And they had these these these donuts set up like

Princess Leah bun cakes. They were so good. My buddies
ate it. I didn't. I stay away from sugar as
much as possible. The food went on and on and on,
so a lot of people sat there and the merch.
Let me get into the merch right now. So usually
I go to Disneyland and I buy these T shirts
that say May the Fourth be with you with a
simple thing. But for some reason, Disney has been putting

I'm sorry, Disney, I'm saying this, but I gotta be honest.
They've been putting out these T shirts where they put
these pictures and stuff on it, and they look really
I don't know how do I say it hip ish.
I don't like that. I like the old retro Star
Wars stuff. Very simple, just represent that. I like May
of the Fourth. I went through the store, and I
have videos of me going through all the merchandise, and

I even said on camera, this is ugly, this is

fourth was never celebrated by Lucasfilm or anybody. It wasn't
until two thousand and three when Disney purchased lucasfilm that
they started coning the phrase and using it more and
actually took the celebration of May the Fourth Be with you.
That's true, So Disney's pushing in. It's celebrated across the

world right now and all Disney parks. Here's another thing
that you might be a little surprised to know. So
today is May the fourth that we're celebrating, but tomorrow's
May May the Sith be with You, the celebration of
the next day. So here's a question for you to

it or not, Space Mountain wasn't originally gonna be here.
It's gonna be different. This is actually put together in
their seventies. They're thinking about doing it. It's a two
tracks put together. They're going to intertwine with each other,
and the mountain is gonna be bigger. But due to
this contraint, you know, constraints on on size on stuff,
they had a size down Space mount a little bit.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
Now, remember this is different.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
It's not Space Mountain. It's hyper Space Mountain. A lot
of inner stuff of all Star Wars. It's getting darker.
We'll come back and check in with the guys and
we get on the ride. So we got kicked off
a hyper space mountain at a Space mountain. There was
somebody alarm went off. They say, if you got to
exit for your own safety. Not only was it Space Mountain,

but Star tours, the stores, everything like that. They said,
I don't know what happened, but they kicked everyone off.

Check it out. It's all jumbled up as they rush
us off.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
But they were freaking out. Okay, let's go check out
the Star Wars dance. Can you hear the music in
the background. Let's go see the dance DJ's here, but
a lot of people dancing. This guy is killing it
for Star Wars Night. I'm nashing up everything. I hope
you guys can hear me.

He is doing a fantastic job job.

Look it is for Star Wars Night, danced for and
we haven't even done everything yet.

Shopping it down. I want to tell you guys some
stuff that I get to do or I didn't even
get to do it at Disneyland. Now, these are the
cool things you can do. They call it the other
Worldly Entertainment, a gathering of the existence with ray. It's
near the Millennium Falcons Smugglers Run. It happened at nine
to fifteen, ten twenty and eleven twenty five. I couldn't
(23:20):
do that late Saber instructional and it's at Fantasy Theater.
That was at nine ten forty five eleven forty five.
I couldn't even do that, it was so busy. Uh
was this one Figer in Danne and the model nodes
rivers in America. I think that's the CANTEENA van missed
them this year. And that's my favorite thing. That Dun
(23:42):
Dun Dun Dun Dun d d the Foends of the
Forest costume cavalade. That means everyone who was dressed up
had a parade around and showed around the park. I
totally missed that it was any other park. The thing
is sometimes with these these this festival is that even
with the time allowed, you just get so tired. You
(24:02):
just get tired because you gotta go off from one
place to the other. It's hard to do everything. But
it's good, there's more. It's better they have more to
do than less to do. And then you go, wow,
there's not very much to do. And then there were
shadows of Memory of skywalkersaga which I played for you earlier,
and fon Farewell at Main Street USA. Now down main
Street again. They did all the the asteroids going down
(24:24):
the street on one and then one side of the
main street was a good side. It was blue and
the other side was red, and then you wander back.
You can take pictures either behind the Imperial logo or
the Jedi logo or the Rebel logo as they had
it set up. So they had all that set up there,
so there were so many things. They gave us a
(24:46):
little piece of paper which was a map. Are like that.
I try to do it off the app but then
through the night things just got constantly like it's just like, oh,
we gotta be out here, we gotta be out here.
And then I had some friends that are the crew there,
the cast members. I'm like, where are we going to
be for this? You got to be over there at
this time and they got to be able to hear
at eight forty five. So to run over to one
(25:07):
thing that was really good and we wanted to film
it this year. We're trying some different We were filming
and using the audio from the film for the podcast.
I thought that work out really good, but on on
I thought it went it was fantastic. I was tired.
One cool thing that flipped me out. You heard it earlier.
I talked about the popcorn buckets, but got my ton
tan popcorn bucket didn't get the Death Star. There's a
(25:30):
Jawa zipper wasn't released yet. Everyone's asking about that. The
Clone Trooper helmet. That's a popcorn bucket. They're mailing that
to us. I asked them to mail it to us.
And they're adding four more Star Wars ones that aren't
released yet. I don't know what they are, but I'll
find out. Also, I want to say thank you to
Disney for the new they sent me up. And I
just want to say thank you guys so much. They
(25:51):
sent me the from Star Tours, the shuttlecraft. They sent
me a model of that. They sent me a C
three pill in the chair from the Star Tours thing,
So thank you that. We're gonna open that on the
