Fonseca talks witht the crew about Universal Studios show next week;
guest on the show;
Katie is a California native. When Katie was 8 years old, her father was looking for an activity he could do with his daughter much in the way he had coached her older brother's Little League baseball team. He saw a casting notice in the newspaper for a community theatre production of Annie. They were both cast - Katie as Molly and her dad in the ensemble.
For Disney, she has been the main voice of Snow White since 2011. She first voiced her in Kinect: Disneyland Adventures and then in the Sofia the First episode "The Enchanted Feast". She also played Janice Elden in the ABC TV show, Castle and Dr. Denise Malloy in the I Didn't Do It episode "Twin It to Win It". Additionally, she voiced Wriggley in Sofia the First and Maya in Elena of Avalor.

We discuss if Marvels movie versions are better then the comic books and we wish AMV a Happy Mothers day.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
So we are so excited because last weekend was May
the fourth, Be with You, and we did our show
from Disneyland, half Disneyland, half home. But this time I'm
going to try to do everything from another location. Now,
we love Disney's our sponsor, we love Amazon, but we
had to give another park an opportunity to see how
it presents itself. Universal Studios, Hollywood. All right, we'll do that. Uh,

(00:26):
we'll get into in a second. Also, Katie Van Tillen,
I think I said her name right. She's gonna be
on the show voiceover artists. And then I'm gonna tell
you about the ten best changes Marvel movies have made
to the comics ranked. But first let's start the show.
And then we're gonna talk about fan Fest at Universal Studios, Hollywood.
Welcome where once a year sci fi buffs take their

(00:47):
lips off the barrel of a loaded gun and spend
half a day adjusting their eyes to sunlight.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I want's see a comic book with pregnant soombie nuns.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
He's like nerds, What a bunch of freaking nerdos? Nerdy,
I'm a nerd.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Your personalities of the popular quick I was kind of
a lonely nerd in high school. I started a quilt,
I did yoga twice a week.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I wore flip flops in public.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I like the rosy. I'm just too so the gear.
Was you ready for this? Nineteen fourteen, a German American
immigrant named Carl la Nimi brought a tailor, bought the

(01:29):
Taylor ranch in the San Fernando Valley, and founded Universal Studio,
a gigantic studio with its own zoo. And he sat
there thinking a lot like, Hmmm.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
I'm making these silent pitches, but people always looking from
over there, what's we're making? So to make some money,
I guess I charge and Nick order.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
To come in to watch us make the movies, because
it's silent films. Yeah, silent films. So they started doing it.
On March fourteenth, nineteen five. You open up the studio
to two day grand opening event with ten thousand attendees,
and you just start people coming through and seeing all this. Uh.
And this continued on until nineteen thirty until what do

(02:11):
you think happened to a MV? Well, the depression, no
World War One, no World.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
War two, no money, no the sound, the black and
white sounds. Soundfit sound like seeing the Ring sound proof. Yes,
think of seeing the ring. Watch seeing the Ring, You'll
figure it out.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
So they had to stop doing it, but they changed
it around and turn it into a thing. Now Universal
Studios Hollywood is I'm giving these guys a commercial. Universe Studios,
you need to start giving us some stuff. Disney takes
care of us. You need to Disney. I love you,
don't get mad at me, but I gotta chin this
fan fast out. It makes over. Let me get this right.

(02:53):
Two point five billion dollars a year in all the
Universal properties that is.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Is that more than what disneyan?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
No, No, Disney makes a little more, but they're kind
of even neck and neck. I don't want to get
into this whole race because it is a race about
who's out doing who's got the bigger you know what?

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
You know why deal with the race when you could
play with the entire field.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yeah, so Universal Studios has just changed over the years.
I'm gonna get into fan fest, but there has been
so many things at Universal Studios has done that I've
been a child and just love that's I don't know
how the years of disappeared. They used they have this
rock slide that you would drive the tram by. Now,
if you've never been a Universal Studios, shame on you.

(03:37):
And if you've never been Universal Studios, you got to
try it all.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Now, this is an amusement park or is it a
studio or two and one?

Speaker 1 (03:44):
It is three. It is three things. It is a
lot for offices to decide the production of movie studios.
It is a lot to rent out for other movie
studios to use for commercials or whatever. Because you can
go to New York. There you go to you can
go to Rome, you can go to Italy, you can
go to France. You can build the Old West, you

(04:04):
can go into a lake. The Truman Show is fit.
The film there when he's on the boat at the
end The Truman Show with Jim Carrey. He filmed there.
When NASA has their crashes down with any of the
things and they don't want to go out to the ocean,
they film in university.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
All forget the lot of the War of the World.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Unbelievable, but they they not only do this, and then
they do. They have a sound lot that they do.
And I've been there like four or five times to
voice stuff over is when I lived there, or I
went to go film Ally McBeal there on the sound
lot when I was an extra, and then I started
getting more and more roles on Ally McBeal for the
years to get myself through.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
But wait, does this not sound like an amusement.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Part It has a tram ride that goes through there
and shows you the different what they call him facades,
And a facade is one side it looks like a building,
but then you go around the back and there's nothing there.
And then they get to see all the different places
they film, and then they take into these little areas
where they have a like a production produced for you

(05:04):
to enjoy, but they really do film movies there. In between.
It's a music park. Now this is on the ground level.
Then upstairs they actually have like rides and musement parks.
Now they do this in This is in California, but
in Florida it's a little different. It's more of a
theme park atmosphere. They don't really film too much there.
Everything's done in California. So we're the smaller yacht but lot.

(05:27):
But what they're offering here is fan Fest. Now Disneyland
does this where they take a night at the ball
at the park and they'll turn it into May the
Fourth Be with You. Then a few months later it
might be Pride Night. Then a few months later it
might be Nineties Night, where you might see a Goofy movie.
All the things that were big nineties they come back
in nostalgia. Then they do for Halloween times, they do

(05:51):
what's his name Oogie Boogie Night where each night that
turns you can dress up, get candy, different things. Well,
Universal Studios does their freight Fest. They said, why not
do fan Fest? Now we're flipping over to fright Fest
or fan Fest. I'm sorry. One night I'm so excited
about because one night, one night, and their select nights.
One is back to the Future night where I saw it.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Wait, it says here every franchise every night, so it's
back to the future, Dunzis and Dragons.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
We cannot forget one.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Piece ju Jitsu, the Wizardy World of Harry Potter and
Super Nintendo World with a lot of Yoshi in there.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I don't know why Yoshi's being themed there.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
By the day you said, never in the regular park,
But here's the things that I've saw, and you've got
to check it out. Just googlely FanFest. This is amazing.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Boit Wait clarity, you said one night they're doing this,
but here on the website they're advertising one night all this.
You just have to plan it out. Yes, get your
dining pass. Do you have your dining pass?

Speaker 1 (06:53):
No? I haven't done that yet. What so here here's
the deal though it's it's it's one night, select nights.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Throughout and I had until May eighteenth, mayte this the
last day.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
So one you'll take a tram ride in there. You've
got to plan it out. You really do it to
planet out. You either got to go downstairs the bottom lot.
And I'm pushing it because everyone keeps saying the Back
to the Future experience is the best.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
But wait a minute, Red alert, Red alert, what about
the star track?

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Second line? Is Star Trek is the second best?

Speaker 2 (07:26):
And what about the Dungeons and Dragon?

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Is said it's good, but it's very small and the
lines are so long to get into something that's not
really that big, They said, you should do the other ones.
First number three is the the anime.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
One and of course we'll one piece ju jitsu.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
But remember, but don't forget take a breath here, fanseeka
because you may have problems with this. Guess what you
could meet some of the folks in cosplay from Universal
Studios for the one and only Wicked the Musical movie.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
So you can do that you want. I'm not a
Wicked guy.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
But there's also don't forget guys, they're gonna have block party.
One thing that definitely Universal Studios can do. You can
check that out on your nerd side or fan sake
of Mommy Me Show is the music here.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Here's a deal. So as they set this up, that's one, two, three, four,
five events, I don't know. It starts at eight o'clock,
goes to two o'clock in the morning. I believe we're
seven to two o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Something crazy.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
I just don't think there's enough time to see everything.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
No, so you have to prioritize. But as where you're.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Thinking about going, look at the food from Harry Potter,
themes Wan Pisu, yes, even Wicked.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Wit go back to the Back to the Future treats. Okay,
I gotta tell you, I'm already favoring back to the Future.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
So why why what are you saying for our listeners?

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Well, every time I go look up FanFest, nobody is
posting too much. The only things they post about is
Cosplay R tray track alert. Yeah, and Back to the Future. Now,
this is what they say, and the reviews are it's
a universal website that set up for fans that are
just universal. They said, is it worth going yes or no?
They said that just for a loan. The Yeah, the

(09:15):
merchandise is amazing. Ways focus, I'm sorry, she's puted all
these videos to me, just alone. For the Back to
the Future. It's the actors that do so well. And
this is something that and I hate I love Disney.
You guys give us a lot.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Which actor you make It sound like the actors are
going to be no fan fest.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Actors that portray So I've got to explain this. So
this is what I was told. As you go into it.
It's a tram ride. You got to take to the
bottom of lot because the original place where they fail
them back to the futures down there. You get down
there and docs talk to you on the tram ride. Marty,
you got to do this, this whatever. When you get
down there, you're immense. You're just in nineteen fifty five,

(09:55):
they said, you got mister Sandman playing mister Sandman jam.
Everything is all set up nineteen fifty five. Biff's car
there and he's near his car, goes, stay away from
my car, but make like everything. These are actors that
look like and portray them. They sit over the course
of the night. They go from the beginning of the
movie to the end where they're on the enchantment, on

(10:16):
the sea dance and everything like that. And a final
thing and they repeat every hour is the clock tower
is gonna get struck by lightning. And he goes and
Doc gets the thing put together, and the lightning comes down,
hits the Dolorean and the car spins.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
And this is a great experience for those who have
been diehard or were a little kid. Universal studios that
haven't gone remember the Simpson ride used to be correct
me if I'm wrong, the Back to the Future ride.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Which and yes, which was one of its biggest franchises.
It just got outdated, and.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
But it's celebrated. It was forty years ago.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
But don't worry. There's merchandise. Yeah, Back to the Future items,
whether it be the sweater dungeon and dragons purse, whether
it be one piece.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Here, here, here's the here's the weirdest I like my
sign because we're going next week's show. He's going there.
I've never seen my son want to go and then
put all his money from his Peggy bank into one
of those coin stars to collect it up to go
and go to Universal Studio.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
It's actually the bank.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Let's give a shout out to San Francisco Fire Credit
Union coinstart takes an't use that.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
So the next day you say Star Trek. Star Trek's
immerciful too.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Not a next day another advance.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
You gotta walk over wherever it is. You gotta plan
it out. Got to go up there to Universal Studios
to get to Star Trek. And don't think we're just
walking this cold Friday. We're heading down to University Studios.
We're gonna go on the place to go figure out
exactly how we're gonna do it. We're gonna talk to
a person and get all the apps set up and
everything like that. But they told me this is what
I was talking online and on phone call with University Studios.

(11:54):
They said, Star Trek is you have to go in.
You're gonna sit on the elevator. They're gonna take you
down to the bridge or up to the bridge. You
open up the door, vulcans, fringies everyone, it's the original
for cards Star Trek. You're gonna walk up there, they're
gonna put you positions. They help them on the bridge
because they're getting attacked. That's all you can know. Then
you got to go to the engine room because the

(12:16):
engine room's starting to blow up. You got to help
them there. You got five areas to go through and
then you walk out. What were you gonna say?

Speaker 3 (12:22):
No, So for those of you who are maybe visual
learners like myself, if you go to the Universal's FanFest site,
it'll give you also instructions like three pm you pick
up your ticket. Don't forget to download the app. Download
the app. No, no, no, yeah, that's how they make money.
Know the rules about Cosmo. You can only decorate your forehead.

(12:43):
Nothing sharp and service dogs. No no, no costumes for you.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
So then we've got we still have to do dungeons
and dragons. We have to get down there for Aaron Michael.
For the Nintendo.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Land, you need to go to Nintendo Land.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
From Nintendo you're supposed to grab a spa show crowned
and you have to find these Easter eggs and they're
real eggs, Yoshi eggs all over the place. You have
to point it out to the people and you get
a sticker. You have to collect five stickers just so
you can get in the line, which he says an
hour wait to get a picture with one of the pink, green,
or yellow Yoshi's are very rare.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Okay, wait, I have a question. How are you finding
out this information.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
The websites and everything like that? Thank you for.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
From the Universal Studios website. Yes, are you sure?

Speaker 1 (13:26):
I swear to you so, no matter what we're doing,
I'm telling you, we're going in set Saturday. Next week's
show will be recorded Friday. We're going in early to
go to Universe Studios and we'll ask them and we'll
plan out our day and download the app. All right,
and then we still got dungeons and dragons. I'm not
into much.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Don't you forget about one piece? And those are so
popular world?

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Why wicked? You can get picture with the good wickeds.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Only if I'm looking the best, because we know what
type of witch I am.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
All right, let's get into a quick intervie. You we're
gonna come back. I want to talk something marvel real fast.
And then we're going to finish off the show. I
got something important to say. Let's talk with Katie von Till.
Hope they said it, okay, quick interview, come right back.
And I got something about Marvel. I want to talk
to you about. Katie von Till. Dude, you got the name.
It's like you own your bareness of a castle.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
The Baroness used to be my nickname actually really yeah,
when I got my very first job out of college
was as a radio newscaster. And you start in radio, yeah,
but very briefly, just like the first summer after college,
and they nicknamed.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Me the Baroness, the Baroness. So, Katie von Till, congratulations.
And like I said earlier, I was talking to Blaine, like,
you guys get these big breaks and stuff like that.
So you are the new voice of a snow White.
How the how did this happened? What happened?

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (14:49):
So it was twenty eleven actually, so I've been her
voice for quite some time now.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Seems like Disney keeps those voices, huh.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
They look they really want to keep the magic alive.
And part of how you do that is, you know,
voice matching. Right, So I'm not the voice of snow White.
Adriana Casseilotti is the voice of Snow White, and I
am simply the vessel through which her voice match continues
to give voice to my gals, snow.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
How did this happened? What happened?

Speaker 5 (15:15):
I mean, look, I grew up wanting to be a
Disney princess, right who didn't. But it never occurred to
me that I could be a princess.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
That already existed.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Like, I didn't know that was a thing.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
I didn't know voice matching was a thing. But I
was doing voiceover and the audition came out, and I
have to tell you, I do you know a fair
amount of voice matching, But usually I have.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
To listen and listen and listen and listen, and then.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
Go into my booth and practice. I listened to her
one time. I went into my booth, I took one take,
sent that in and got the call back and got Yeah,
it was just immediate. She was just inside me somewhere.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
So it's pretty much everywhere. I mean, it's from cartoons
of the video games. Did you do Disney Infinity or
Infinity or what's it called again, Disney Infinity? Did you
do that? No? All right? He's got the toys all
over the house. My son's here with me.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Nice to meet too.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
He wants to give you an apple.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
That was for me.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
So what's your social media handle?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
People want to kiss Katie bon Till?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
I mean, is that really your name?

Speaker 3 (16:20):
On Till?

Speaker 5 (16:20):
But that's even more barreness sounding, And I just nobody
calls me Catherine, So I just.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
That's a dope fast name. That's a really dope fast name.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
I'm not gonna lie, and I love it.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
It's a great name.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
So besides this and then having you do stuff, are
they having you do stuff for the parks and things
that I My voice is.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
All over the world. I mean it said Shanghai Disney.
It's a Tokyo Disneyland where actually I worked as a performer.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Did you really Yeah? Soon after Shanghai, No Disney, Tokyo
Disney word called.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
Field of Magic, and I actually was. I actually sang
as Ariel in that show.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Which, oh my god, so how many? So you were
always within the Disney.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
I mean, look, I'm a Disney fan. I've been at
Disney on my entire life. I you know, I first
went to the parks when I was seven, when I
go to the parks. I one of my early trips,
I bought a book that was all about the history
of the park. I'm really into sort of the theme park,
like the old stuff. I'd like to see the nostalgic type,

(17:17):
you know, early early days. Yeah, yeah, yeah, things, Yeah,
I love that stuff.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
All right, We're gonna follow you on social media and
then when you air on the show, we're gonna put
all the stuff. We're gonna take some pictures you in
and stuff and put it up there and we'll put
the links to all your social media handles. Now are
you are you doing working on anything else you want
to push that you got besides Disney?

Speaker 5 (17:35):
Well, I can't talk about you don't know about Disney.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Disney I understand how it is, trust me. I know
I do some stuff with Disney, and only these two
people here know exactly what's going on most of the time.
All right, So what do you do on other stuff
besides Disney or no?

Speaker 5 (17:51):
Yeah, I mean I'm constantly doing other, you know, commercials
on camera. I do TV and film. I recurred on
you know, Young Sheldon for all those Yes.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
You played Sheldon, Yeah, I played. So you're the Katie
von till Sheldon, I don't know why I keep looking at.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
Your voice, Matcher right, so yeah, body matched and you
are beautiful.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
All right, thank you joining me. You're awesome and we
look forward to hearing you again. And I'm gonna look
at the Disney I'm gonna listen for the Disney parks
for you. All right.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
Thanks great, great to be interviewed and talking to you
this morning.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Now, if you want to catch all our interviews are
always up on our SoundCloud. I try and get them
up as fast as possible, but you can't go to
back interviews and they're on all are your nerd side
shows you subscribe to. All right, Marvel fast uh, we
saw and we're getting back into the next wave of
the Marvel universe. But I wanted to talk about something
with comic books that and I want amd I want

(18:44):
your opinion about it, all.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Right, right, time about it?

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Tell me about the Marvel movies that were made from
comics and the changes made if it was good or bad?
All right? Yes or no? Okay? Oh yeah, yeah, I'm
gonna give you I'm gay ten of them, number ten uh,
aging of Bucky Barnes made more sense, don't you think?

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Definitely?

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Yeah. Remember if you read the combooks, Bucky was a
little kid like a sidekick that was his best friend. Yeah.
I don't know them, the sidekick thing, especially today with
everything the Winter Soldier, so it's I like them better.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Well, we don't know who those authors were back then.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
So moving forward, Okay, next one. And this is when
I first came back here to San Francisco with Los
Angeles because I kind of lost my comm book way am.
Vy was like, you got to read the Civil War.
I got to read the Civil War. I got to
read Civil War. And there are multiple common books, a
lot of them number nine, making civil war a smaller
scale battle up the personal conflict because they would last

(19:40):
it on and on.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Oh my god, sometimes these conflicts go on and on
and on.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Let's get to the point.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
And it brought the Civil War, brought Captain America total
stark aggy armament up against each other in the battle of.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Wait, you say silver war. You're talking about Civil war,
silvi war? Yeah, you said, oh civil it sounded like silver.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yeah, there is there's a silver war.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
No, no silver age. I'm thinking DC, my bad. It's
Mother's Day and I'm doing a podcast.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
People the Silver Silvaival silvol Royd. Now you got me
doing it. Civil War? Yeah, the Civil War made it better, right,
it was amazing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's still the long
dragged out thing. Now here's the thing that I'm.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Wait, sorry, but I did kind of miss Luke Cage
in the Civil War and then he did a better job.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
They're scale uh Netflix guy in my movie?

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Ooh you called him low?

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Sorry, you gotta think figs up there going. I'm not
putting the Daredevil. He was lucky, threw Daredevil bone just
to be inspider man. He can he can catch a
brick in my movie. That's what he says. He's a
Netflix star that might come over to the universe. That's
what Marvel uppers are thinking. I'm thinking. So number eight,
I'm jumping right now. Neymour, did you your fallow?

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Nymour very little because he was just too much into
Susie Susan Storm for Fantastic Four. It was a little
bit like, I don't like people who have crushes that
are unauthorized.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Well, I think the movie gave his cultural hairsha gives
him the character more depth rather than just oh I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Oh no, I prefer the the on the silver screen
name more than the other one.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
It was jor It was a boring movie, Knda the
last one.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
The story and Conda forever. The movie could have been
a lot better. Sorry about that. I know you did
a great job with Black Panther and definitely Sinners. However,
nay more, you did a great job. Thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Right number seven, The simplifying the symbionts origin help streamline
the story. And I'm talking about Spider Man three. I
like the way you just see him crash on Earth
and he gets it. You see it's an alien.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Yeah, you had to cross over so many different shows
and movies.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Yes, the originally came for the Secret Wars. He needed
srap mate and he put his and read Richards goes
go in that room. Remember this is on a different
planet and they have all these machines. Don't know. So
Spider Man Peter Parker goes in there because it's all
ripped up, and he goes. I want to make it
and how.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Both places implemented it, but they did a good job
in both ways.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
I'll leave it at that.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Because combooks have more time to dive in just like
a novel, movie screens got to get to the point.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Both well done.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yeah, or number six making star Lord the son of
Ego the Living Planet simplified his heritage. What do you
think of that?

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (22:31):
You well, because in the common book, I don't know.
In the Common Book I never read the comment star
Lord is the son of Jason of Sparteks. He's the
former ruler of a planet Spartas, and it's an empire,
and this it rather this.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
You're talking about Egos.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
So, I mean Ego was never his father in the
com book, Yes, it was another person, but I kind
of like the way they used Ego the planet.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Well, it made more sense how he survived in Guardians
of the Galaxy Volume one.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Now I'm not a big follower of this next guy
and this is Blade. But in the comic book, uh,
this is say giving Blade more abilities and influenced the
comics themselves. All right, So he didn't have a lot
of abilities in the comic book, it was a vampire.
But as the movie came out and they I loved
I loved Blade.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Oh look, I mean if you lived in that era
when the movie came out, it was NonStop joint and
that's why did.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Ninety nine and two thousand and one and two thousand
and three, That's.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Why everyone was talking about Yeah, and.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
That's how Ryan Reynolds got the bite for it and
no punt attendant with Blade, but he got he got
bitten by the Marvel universities. He wanted more of it.
He liked the Marvel stuff because he was actually in
the movie. All right. Number four American Carol Danvers, the
first Captain America's streamline complicated continuity. There have been so
many Captain Marvel's. Yeah, I'm like, hello, there was how

(23:52):
many guys. There's like three guys, and there was a girl,
another girl, and.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
Then yeah, it just and then she even like the
latest Captain Marvel just keeps on evolving and then she's
in this and then that.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
So yeah, it's it's a little bit much.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
So here's the thing, So comic books. What is the
biggest problem with comic books?

Speaker 2 (24:12):
You think consistency?

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Consistency? How about deaths?

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Deaths?

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Yeah, I mean well you mean like they die and
they come back like the dark Phoenix.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Well, number's going to come back again.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Number three letting Arman die gave a sense of closure
comic books cannot deliver because you go, oh, he died,
he'll be back but then again. And then I thought
about this after I was prepping this. I'm like, well, Doomsday,
Robert Downing Junior's back again. But he's not arm Man.
But is he We'll find out, so I might. Oh,

(24:43):
Marvel's even doing it in the movies. What that?

Speaker 3 (24:45):
Yeah, because isn't it really quickly like he's parents die
and then was raised by Doomsday original parents.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
That's what I understand, But we'll see.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
I'm so excited to see Doomsday. I want to I
like Doctor Doom I surprise.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
The Thunderbolts were really amazing too.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
I love the Thunderbolts. I loved the Thunderbolts. Lambs up
to the rib goddamn ay all we want to do
with me in front of a box of eat These
number two for the comic books. Making the Hulk's father
a super powered antagonist added emotional weight. We didn't know

(25:25):
anything in the comics about his mom or dad, but
having him like this and his dad created him and
fighting him, and I'm talking about the two thousand and
three Hulk. I loved it. I went to go see
it and when you were in LA They did so
much at the Universe I'm talking Universe Studios again, but
at the Universal Why they added so much. Remember that
was a Universal movie and you would do on the

(25:45):
special thing and they would show everything from The Hulk love.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
I still like The Hulk the TV series better.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Sorry with Bill Bixby, I love it Number one turning
old Man Logan into emotion Old Swan song gave fans
closure and we're talking about the one. Yeah, that was
a great movie.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
It was good. It was sad.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
I mean, hey, listen, if you have not got to
the Logan comic books, the just the artwork itself.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
I'm not going to say the lines.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
The storyline was the best, but the artwork superb. For me,
Logan the movie, it's just hard from the beginning to
the end. It's just when some when and this is real,
but that's reality. Some people gave it their all, they
do their best, they sacrifice and for others, and the
end of their lives is not the greatest part of
their lives. And that's unfortunate. And that's why we have

(26:41):
this podcast show.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
I am always looking for like loopholes where they can
do another episode or something like that. I just remember
the doctor took him in. This is this is just
Logan the movie Logan. If you haven't seen it, go
see it. And I'm pretty sure if you're watching listening
to this you've seen it. But Logan, I thought when
the doctor was trying to he to the hospital and
his daughter cloned daughter took him to the hospital, or

(27:04):
you know, he goes, I can fix you. If you
stay here, I can fix you. I fix you. I'm like, oh,
this is going to be something later on. They never
fed off of it, but you thought it was closure.
But then again, like I said, this is a closure
to it, but then comes back again from the multiverse,
another version of him. It's just funny.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
But the thing is, I'm surprised and I understand why
it's not on your list. Is spider Man brand New Day?
So watch out because that is a comic book. So
get those comic books right now. They're going to be
hot at comic cons because guess what that is the
New Spider Man movie, and a lot of people are
really excited continuing the line, where unfortunately Peter Parker continue

(27:45):
his path a misery, torture, and constant sacrifice with nobody.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Knowing his name.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
