Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome back to Faith Hacked, the series that is brought
to you by Zion's Voice, where we don't settle for
soundbites and vibes. I'm your host, Iris, your spiritual accountability
partner who can't be brought with cookies or Instagram likes.
Today we're kicking off strong with in an uncomfortable truth.
(00:36):
God's not confused. You just didn't like the answer. Yeah,
I said it. Someone had to. Let's go as always,
we're gonna be honest. I'm just confused. Has become a
Christian code for I don't like what I heard. God
(00:57):
says forgive, and we say, I'm confused about bound. God
says leave that toxic situation, and we say I'm confused
about timing. God says, be faithful in the small things,
and we say I'm confused about my calling. You're not confused,
You're uncomfortable, and there's a difference. Confusion can be solved
(01:20):
with prayer, but discomfort can only be solved with our obedience.
We've turned discomfort into a lifestyle, baptizing rebellion as waiting
on God when he's already spoken. James Chapter one and
five says, if any of you lack wisdom, let him
(01:44):
ask God, who gives to all liberty, and without report reproach,
it will be given to him. You know, expectations versus
are instructions. We gotta know the difference when we treat
God like a GPS. You know, when he says turn
(02:08):
left and we want to make a right, so we
revout and blame him for being mysterious. Sometimes clarity feels
offensive because it just dismantles the narrative we built around
what we wanted. Our desires are our will, and God
(02:31):
is not interested in coddling our personal brand. He's building
his kingdom and his will and not our little side.
Hustle Pover's nineteen twenty one says, there are many plans
in a man's heart. Nevertheless, the lord's counsel. That's what
(02:56):
we'll stand. Yeah, if it feels like God is attacked
our dreams, maybe he's kind of just dethroning them from
the place where he is the only one that belongs there.
I mean, people get this whold My desire is God's desire.
It's like, you gotta be careful to like filter out
(03:19):
what's really of you and what's really for him. If
God is giving clear instructions, that's not judgment, it's his mercy.
When his clarity is starting to offend you, it's usually
revealing that our stubbornness, our fear, and our idolatry to
(03:45):
our own plan. How about that it's not a spiritual
attack when God closes the door and that we were
never meant to walk in. It's called him kind of
supervising because it's for our own good protection. Like you
didn't lose the map. You do it in the backseat
(04:07):
because it didn't route you through the scenic path that
you wanted to go through. You know. Isaiah fifty five
eight and nine, you know, talks about how my thoughts
are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,
says the Lord. For the heavens are higher than the earth,
(04:28):
So are my ways higher than your ways, and my
thoughts than your thoughts. I really wanted to talk about
the spirit of sabotage here and the imposter's syndrome. Yeah,
that's that's a good one. I might need to just
do a topic on that, because I had started trying
(04:49):
to figure out what was the difference and how did
people know, Like, how did you know that they were
operating in the spirit a sabotage or just an imposter
syndrome because kind of look the same. And I say
that for this reason, the part where it says, my
ways are harder than your ways and my thoughts are
(05:10):
higher than your thoughts. How often do I mentor people?
First of all, I'm gonna tell you something. If you're
a mentor mentoring, make sure you lay down the grounds
for what it is you're going to do and what
it is you're expecting vice versa from the mentee. I
(05:31):
actually wrote a book called Mentorship Ministry, Finding Your Dobora.
You can find that at my website. I'll give that
at the end, and it just breaks down what am
I expecting, what you should be, what am I expecting
for you? What are you expecting from me? And how
this is gonna work. Because the worst thing is to
(05:53):
mentor somebody that thinks that you're a life coach. There's
two different things. Okay, my mentorship is holding you as
an accountability. So my mentor mentoring is to hold you
accountable to the things that God has for your life.
(06:14):
I love what they do and make their own decisions
and then come back and report like I did this
with no discussion with your mentor to process, to process
what you're getting ready to do. I'm telling them these
are major decisions in their life and their ministry. And
(06:36):
I heard God say and I know the Spirit told me.
And I'm like, how do you hear so clearly through
the clutter of your soul? And how do I know
that there's a clutter of the soul? Because these are
people who are struggling to praying. These are people who
struggle in the word of God. These are people who
are just like, oh, I'm so holy spirit reliant. But
(06:59):
I I don't read his word or study it to
show myself a proof that I hear his voice. And
I don't really have a lifestyle of prayer. I just
have a lifestyle of you know, going into a place
called prayer, but just talking the whole time. So there's
(07:19):
so much to it that needs to be like organized
so that you would have a fruitful life. And this
right here, my thoughts are higher than your ways that
right there, and people just start doing all this stuff.
And what I started to see was that there was
a difference between the spirit of sabotage and the apost
syndrome and man, and I'm talking about in general, men
(07:42):
abandoned women and humanity and they just go off on
a rampant and begin to just make decisions that are
going to destroy what God is doing or destroy or
prolong the journey. So, hey, if you're going to be
(08:03):
a person that's going to go out there and ask
somebody to mentor you understand this. They're there to help
you process and get you to the place called destiny,
not for you to come back and tell them what
you're doing. Like, it's crazy, this whole mentorship thing. I'm
just like, wow, like okay, so what am I in
(08:27):
your form? Like what am I like the sideline just
letting you It's just crazy. I know, I just went
off on a ramp But when I remember the scripture
for that moment, and I was just like, man, you
just stole the map in the back seat and whatever
you do in the front seat, you're calling it God.
(08:47):
It's just it blows me up. But anyway, off the ramp.
What do we do when clarity is starting to hurt
it being offended by God's clarity? What do we do?
You know, start a pray for me, text chain, pray
(09:09):
for me, text change, fishing for sympathy. They go find
a prophetic word to cancel it out. They goes God
until you know, you cool down. So these are signs
of offended people. When we begin to give clarity that
begins to offend them. You know, they'll start off like
I'm being attacked, you know, text chain, no, with no details.
(09:34):
God knows all things. Just pray what what is wrong
with people? Sometimes you know they'll go off and find
a prophetic word to kind of confirm. And let me
tell you something about prophecy. Let me tell you something
about prophecy. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God.
Is the spirit of God, the spirit of God that
(09:57):
searches out all things, deep things of God. Then't even
have the spirits. They don't search out all things or
the deep things of God. They search out your family line,
They search out what's familiar, They search out what they hear,
(10:17):
and they use that against you to get you to
line up to something not in destiny. So why do
I say that because if you're gonna go out there
and find a prophetic word by someone who hasn't hasn't
really been purified and gone through the purification of like
like just removing just impurities that they've picked up, you
(10:41):
know from you know, just from things they read, maybe
people they heard, you know, speak whatever, picked up the
wrong mindset and began to operate in a dirty prophetic
is what I like to call it. You know, they're
gonna hear from the familiar spirit, and they're gonna prophesy
out of that familiar spirit. And you know why, you're
gonna be like, oh, that's so God, because they know
(11:03):
what's in your family line. They've they've they've been watching
for centuries for years, and so they're gonna hit it
on the nose. But guess what they can't do. They
can't foretell where to go, they can't foretell how to move,
So you're gonna be stuck and right there where they're
right in that place of not knowing. And so if
the prophetic word, let's say, for example, they show up
(11:25):
somewhere and they're like, they don't like what someone else
told them, so they're gonna go to go to a
place where there's the prophetic moving and they're gonna show
up and they're gonna expect the word. And let's say
this person is impure, like they just they're just operating
out of a place of spirits, like they're just hearing
the spirits and that's what they're releasing. Well, let's say
this person actually gets picked up out of the crowd
(11:47):
and said, the Lord told me to tell you this,
and then and then they start to prophesy what they
wanted to hear. Why is that possible? Because it is.
It is important for the realm of darkness to make
(12:07):
sure that you remain dark in a place of darkness.
What is darkness ignorance? I want you to remain in
a place of being a fool that doesn't know nothing.
That way, you can't do anything that God called you
to do. And listen, this is no different than going
to a psych where I say it, okay, the difference
is of us psychic is a psychic is doing the
(12:28):
same thing. So don't I'm saying that's not to say
that's why that church. The church is so messy. So
is the world. So is my job, So are people
that I deal with. My job. So are you know,
the psychics around the corner there, so they're also messy. Like,
let's not be the people who want to exile the
church because it's the word church on it. Let's get serious.
(12:50):
We're not there for all of that. We're there for
a church. We're there to serve the living God. Where
there to you know, help people to know the living God. Honestly,
you see, I said living God, because everybody else is dead.
They can't hear know, they can't, you know, the Bible
says they can't hear know they can they can they see,
(13:12):
but God can so or you'll get you know, them
ghosting you. And so it's a good time for them
to come around and just send a text. How's everything going?
What I hate? I like? Don't pretend I always bring
it back like you want to have like you want
to come back to our last conversation, because if there's
(13:35):
anything that I like, it's like I like everything laid
on the table. I like a clean heart, pure hands,
you know, like I want to be able to move
with you, impurity in one sound, one mind, not not
in a not dysfunctional. I just I just see too
much of this and I see too much acceptance of it.
(13:56):
So instead of doing all that you know, sending out
the pray for me text chain, running after a prophetic
word that is possibly gonna be pure, you know, ghosting
people until you feel like you cool down, sit in it,
feel it, name the real emotion of it. Repent not
(14:21):
because you're evil, but because you're human. You're gonna be simple,
like not not I say you're a faults of sin,
but there's gonna be things that you're gonna do that
it's gonna be outside the character of God. You're gonna
have to say you know you're repented when you realize,
oh this hit me and I should have never did that.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry God, I'm I need to do better.
(14:42):
That's fine, Like this isn't This isn't like you're going
to hell a moment. This is a be human and
actually hold yourself accountable for your your emotions, for your thoughts,
for your ways, and then get moving slowly if you
have to, but one step at a time somewhere. Because
(15:04):
obedience isn't feel you're feeling ready. Obedience is feel by
the trust in God. So John fourteen fifteen, if you
love me, you keep my commandments. If you love me,
this wouldn't be so hard for you to do well.
(15:25):
Here's your challenge this week. This week, journal through these questions.
I love giving questions because I love provoking, and believe
it or not, I provoke myself too, because I too
want to be better in my walk with Christ. And
that's why I'm here today. I love helping me, helping you,
(15:46):
and you help me when I know I helped you,
tun Tai. Where have I mistaken discomfort for confusion? What
clear instructions have I been ignoring because it didn't match
my expectations? Where is God asking for my surrender not
(16:08):
my suggestion? Yeah? That's yeah, So listen. Obedience is only
hard when you don't truly have the desire to love
(16:28):
the lover of your soul and know the love of
your soul and the death and hunger that we should
all carry. Even after years of walking, we should still
be in love. It just becomes complicated when we come
off that Da Mascus road. You know where our heart's
(16:49):
burned for the word. So if you are in a
place of confusion, feel confused, just check your pride. Pride. Pride, Pride,
Pride is our number one enemy pride. It just takes
and makes and leads us to do things that we
(17:11):
really have no business doing. And then check them expectations
that came from that place of pride, just check them.
The Holy Spirit doesn't need a co writer for your
life and needs a cole Willer, someone who was willing
to do the Father's will. You know he already authorized it.
(17:33):
You're either going to trust him or you're going to
trust yourself, So choose wisely. That's it for today. That
was our emotional roole Canal. If you're still with me,
and I hope you are, you're either very brief or
very stubborn, but either way, we made it here. Next
(17:55):
week we are going to take the manifestation culture and yeah,
throw it in a dumpster. Until then, don't forget to
subscribe to Zion's Voice so you don't miss an upcoming episode,
and don't forget to share it with a friend and
(18:17):
be so kind on the review. I so want to
hear from you, and also to find those additional resources
that we talked about, you'll find them on iris Leon
