Speaker 1 (00:00):
Speaking of riding into the danger zone.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Man one high school track and field girl definitely rode
into the danger zone during a race. It's classic hits
one O, three point seven, six twenty six. Don't forget
it's seven twenty. Got your free Counting Crows tickets. Good morning,
I'm Christy. Producer Corina told me about this story. And
if you've been on social media for any amount of
time in the past what forty.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Eight hours, you probably have seen this video.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
There was a high school track meet in Virginia at
Brookville High School and there was a junior, Kayleen Tucker.
She was running a baton race, you know, the relay
race where they passed the baton, and I guess this
senior from a different high school was running behind her.
And all you see is this senior molly wompin' this
(00:49):
girl on the head with the baton. And I didn't
know she actually got a concussion and a possible skull fracture. Yeah,
I even though you can hit some by that hard,
I guess during a race with a baton, well.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
It's metal, it's a metal baton. But the girl kept
on running. That hit her and now she's saying, oh,
she's crying in a video and saying it was never
my intention.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I would never hit somebody on purpose.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
But I mean, the other girl was starting to beat
her in the race, and it's very clear that she
popped her in the.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Back of the head.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
She said, this senior who hit the junior said she
accidentally tripped Christy. She accidentally tripped Christy and knocked the
girl upside her head.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
A few times. No, there's no I accidentally tripped.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
In this video, you can you can see that the
girl doesn't actually doesn't look like she tripped. But I'd
hate to think that this girl did that. And now
the family is basically saying, okay, we're gonna sue. Of
course they're lawyered up and they said we never got
an apology. If you have not seen this video, it's
been everywhere on social media. You can check it out
(02:00):
on our socials at Classic Hits one O three seven FM.
But basically, this high school track meet has made international
headlines because the girl got molly womped upside her head
and now the person who hit her is saying.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Oh my bad, I tripped Karna. I don't believe it
for one minute.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
She didn't sound like she wasn't insincere in her apology.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Because it's all over the place. She frobally an't think
was on video, but yeah, they got it.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
That's crazy. They got it on video and everybody has
seen it.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
And if you haven't, like I said, Classic Hits one
O three seven FM, I'm gonna pull her apology so
that way you can hear it for yourself. Producer Karina
doesn't think it's sincere. I think the girl sounds sorry.
She's like, oh her crocodile tears. He's in the high
schooler mass say come on just you know, okay, got
(02:55):
that coming up for you, along with some ub forty
and Michael Jackson on the Way Live six forty two
on Classic Hits one of the three point seven go
commercial free for eighty minutes coming up at seven twenty.
That's when you can also win some free Counting Crows tickets.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Thanks for listening this morning.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
So if you've been on social media anytime within the
past forty eight hours, you might have seen a video
of a high school track star from Virginia who is
really upset right now because she is going viral for
all the wrong reasons. Alila Everett was running this two
hundred meter relay race where you pass the baton, and
(03:33):
during the race, she says she tripped but ended up
really knocking this other runner upside the head with a
metal baton, and now the other runner has a possible concussion,
a possible skull fracture, and all she's saying is it
was an accident. Producer Creania doesn't think so, no.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
No, you're just trying to do damage control. The video
shows otherwise.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
If you have not seen the video at Classic Kids
one O three seven FM, you can actually see the
race and you can see what happened. But Alila says,
it's not my fault.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
I know my intentions and I will never somebody on purpose.
They're going off of one angle. After a couple of
times hitting her marble, time got stuck behind her back
like this and then rolled up her vet. I lost
my balance and when I pumped my arms again, she
got hit. Everybody has feelings, so you're physically hurt, but
(04:32):
you're not thinking of my mental right.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
You're not thinking of her mental Corina, she didn't.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Lose her balance, she lost her temper and she wound
up the arm.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
There's no I'm sorry, Christy. I like to believe that.
I like you, like to see the really good in people.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
I mean, I don't condone the bullying and stuff, but no, no,
this is just she's trying to do damage control.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
She's not she sounds sad.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
I know my intentions and I will never there's some
money on purchase. They're more awful blunt angle. After a
time hitting her by the time got stuck behind her
back like this and then rolled up her. I lost
my balance and when I put my arms again, she
got hit. Everybody, everybody has feelings, Karina.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Everybody except producer Karina has feelings. They do.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
But still come on now check out the videos so
you can see it for yourself if you have not
seen it. Like I said, this story has been going
crazy viral at Classic Kids one O three seven FM.
I'm siding with the high schooler. I don't think she
meant to hit this girl upside the head.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
You're so sweet, very nice, Christy, You're very nice.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
But we'll see, all right, got some wham on the
way for Dana and to Berlin.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Coming up on Classic Kids.
Speaker 5 (05:48):

one one caller calling the emergency services.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
For the most random things.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Hello, you counting nine one one?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
What's the address?
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Emergency colling?
Speaker 4 (06:31):
My momy Okay, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
My momy is doing that?
Speaker 4 (06:36):
This little on the phone, he's four.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
I mean it's to jail as ice cream.
Speaker 6 (06:45):
So that's probably why he's calling nine one one.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
That's exactly why he's calling nine one one, because my
mama ate my ice cream.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Come get this lady.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
The four year old literally called emergency services, which is crazy.
I love that he four though, and new nine one one,
same thing. That's amazing. Maybe not for the right reasons,
but the police actually ended up going to the scene
and he said, you know, it's cool, you'll have to
arrest her, but just check her for eating my ice cream.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
And then the next day they showed up again.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
At the house and they actually brought him some ice cream.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Just kind of encouraging his behavior. Don't you think, I
mean he's for Karna.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
Can we just be excited that the little boy knew
how to call nine one one kid he felt it
was an emergency?
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Jeez.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Christie Live eight thirty one on Classic Kids, one of
three point seven. Appreciate you letting us be your escape
from all the craziness and nonsense happening in the world.
Just coming here for some great music and maybe a
little bit of drama.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Oh the drama.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Every Tuesday and Thursday, gotta check you in with producer
Karina's family. You think your family has some drama, but oh,
it's nothing.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Compared to Karina's. It's time for your favorite radio soapropraa.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
Karina's Family Drama.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
We've heard so many stories about your family since we've
started this.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
We've heard about your dad.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
The throwing everything out of the freezer, almost killing the
family dog, your mom upset with the family over football squares.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
And now my older sister Cindy has been borrowing my
dad's car because she needs to get to and from
an appointment that she has. Yeah, so she's been borrowing
my parents Taurus. Well, now it's having problems, meaning like
it just needs an oil change, some new tuneup basically,
mm hmm. They asked her the other day, Hey, can
(08:49):
you give us some money since you're using the car
you have been for months to get this tune up. Oh,
I don't have any money right now, Like I don't
have anything right now. I'm trying to work overtime all
this stuff right, uh huh. And so my parents and
Cindy have been going back and forth for about a
week now about the car needing to tune up. Here
comes Saturday, when we have a family dinner for my
(09:11):
younger sister's birthday. Who walks in with a brand new,
fresh haircut and hair color Cindy. So of course my
mom notices and is like stepping a meaning you painted
your hair, And she goes, oh, no, no, I just
got a haircut, nothing about the color.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
They're both expensive in the bay exactly. But you can't.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Afford a tune up on a car that you're borrowing
from my parents.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
But you tune up them locks on your.
Speaker 7 (09:38):
Heads, tune up them gray hairs, taking epea. Isn't this
the same older sister that owed you money but still
bought a PlayStation five for her man.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yes, Oh Cindy, what will become of it all? We'll
have to wait and see new hair, no care. Cindy's
priorities are clear, But will Carina and her mom let
(10:12):
her brush off the debt or is this family tie
about to get a sharp cut? We'll find out Thursday
on a new episode.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Of Karina's Family Drama.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Oh Cindy, I'm rooting for you, girl, but it's not
looking good. Root for her? Stop it, Krina, just say.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Every Tuesday and Thursday, after we check in with producer
Karna's Crazy Family also got to talk about the crazy
viral trends and things happening in the world. There is
a new class that they are offering gin Zer's and it's.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Gonna make you say, you gotta be kidding me. Tell
you about it next on Classic Kids, Christie Lie, something
is wrong with the society that we live in today?
In Classic Hi its one oh three point seven.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Every Tuesday and Thursday, talk about the viral trends and
things happening in the world that make you say.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
You getta be kidding me?
Speaker 2 (11:05):
And I wish I was when I'm telling you. There
is a new college course that they are offering at
Nottingham College to help Generation Z overcome their telephone of phobia.
Telephone of phobia Apparently, Generation Z, that's folks born between
ninety seven and twenty twelve, has become so used to
(11:29):
texting and voice noting that they do not know how
to use the telephone and actually carry on a conversation
on the phone. It is causing severe anxiety, so much
so they have to offer a class to ease students
into voice to voice conversations.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
You getta be kidding me. I wish I was.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I find that phone calls are quite stressful because phone
calls to me, they have like a sense of urgency.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
I feel as though I can't see them on the
other side, so I don't know if they're laughing at me,
if they're talking about me behind my back. I find
it worrian. Really, you can't pick up the phone and
just talk to somebody.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
You know.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
I think a lot of younger generation have a hard
time doing it well.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Clearly because they're offering a whole college course. This is
so stupid. You gotta be kidding me.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
