Yesterday, I had a flat tire. Turns out I had
a nail in my tire. Luckily I made it to
the shop to get it fixed, but they said it's
going to take at least two to three hours to
fix it because they were busy. Okay, So I call
my dad and I said, Dad, can you come pick
me up at the tire shop.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
He comes.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Next thing you know, I'm in the tire shop and.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
I hear it crash.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
My dad backed up the mini van when it came
to pick me up into somebody's truck.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Hit.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Oh no, put a massive hole in the back of.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
The mini da.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Oh one is your dad?
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (02:57):
He's fine, okay, but the van is and so what
he tried to do when we get home.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
He put stickers.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
He put forty nine er stickers.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
On the back of the minivan to cover up the hole.
He's like, I don't want your mom to see it.
But of course my mom notices everything.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
So she got home and.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
She's like, camp I stalking a cartro what happened to
the car?
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Because you can see the hole. It feels so bad.
It's not your faont it's not my fault.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
They said, will you have.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Backup cameras on the minivan, but he doesn't like to
use it, So.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
I don't people like to use their backup cameras. This
is a thing. Oh God.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
My mom is the same way with her new car.
She doesn't use the backup camera. Em makes her nervous.
So now the minivan has a big gaping hole.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Oh god. Oh wan.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
He tried to cover up.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
His crash with forty nine ers stickers, but that won't
fix his fumble.
Speaker 3 (03:56):

Speaker 2 (04:44):
The Crazy Train is headed out to the not so
friendly Skies. A Maryland woman was arrested in Orlando and
charged with knocking a kid upside his head after a
flight from Disney World. So I guess, I know, right,
supposed to be a happy moment. What and this is
a stranger. So apparently this woman is on the plane
(05:07):
and a little kid got on the plane, sat next
to her and then started calling her fat, getting stop there.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
No kids will tell it.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Kids will Yeah, they're very honest, they're very honest. He
was like, hey, miss Piggy, No he didn't, No.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
He didn't. Oh, kids called her fat, called her.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Miss Piggy said, you look like you're a little big
for this seat, and that was just enough for her
to lose her mind, so she hit him with a
water bottle and then slapped.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Him upside his head. She said the kid was.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Being disrespectful and it really started with him pushing her
arm off the arm rest. You know, when someone pushes
her arm, you're kind of like playing arm wrestling on
the arm rest of her if you're in that middle
seat and she was not feeling his truth that morning.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
You're the adult, like, come on, I mean, there are
some times when the kid will test.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
You, but still you can't just go around knocking other
kids upside the heads, especially if they're not your children.
She was arrested and released on a ten thousand dollars bond.
She needs some anger management, oh good, and maybe some exercise.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Christie, take a look.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Never are you gonna say no.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Not, miss Piggy. That is your daily crazy news story.
You can ride the crazy train. And yeah, that's all bad.
You missed the stories.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Catch them on the man at Classic Kids one O
three seven dot com.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Christie live, Oh.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Sounded just like Whitney over here quick playing eight thirty
one Classic Kids won, oh three point seven.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Don't hate every count with you, Christy. Stop no, don't
go there. Look it's time for the great debate. That's
what we're doing.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
Morning, CHRISTI on Classic Kids.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
The stuff like.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Okayry, there's no debate. I sounded dead up like Whitney.
Whoa anyways, this morning?
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Stop it, okay, stop it, come on, okay this morning
you know debate this morn Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Summer school.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Summer school kids are graduating. There's a lot of graduations
happening right now. Kids are getting out of school.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
And the argument is that they should not be getting
out of school. Some people are trying to start a petition,
a movement, a moment in time where kids do not
have a summer break. They just keep going to school
year round. They say that if your kid goes to
school year round, it can reduce summer learning loss, it
can improve their academic performance, and it could also ease
(08:13):
childcare and family scheduling, not to mention it could maximize
the use of school facilities. A lot of kids are
losing their home schools, like you know in the neighborhood,
because people are taking their kids out of school, and
they're saying, hey, if it's year round school, odds our
schools won't be shutting down because people will actually be
going to the schools. The question is, is year round
(08:35):
school a good idea for this morning's great debate.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
That's what we're talking about, Christie. What do you say.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
I don't think so. I mean summer break. No, why
you take it away? Summer break, that's a hater move.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I say that.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
School should be year round because a lot of teachers
don't really get paid during the summer, so it'll benefit them.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
And what's wrong with it?
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I don't see anything wrong with it. I think teachers
appreciate their summer breaks. I don't know because we're we're
not teachers. But yeah, I'm four year round schools. Karina
wants you to work all the time. She doesn't have
any break because you work with kids all the time.
Keep working with the kids.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
I also think that a break, you know, for like
the parents. Like you said, what are the parents gonna
do with the kids during the summer all the time?
They don't really have stuff to do?
Speaker 3 (09:25):
What do you think?
Speaker 2 (09:26):
One eight sixty six nine hundred one oh three seven?
Should school be year round? And why or why not?
Hit us up for the great debate? Cannot wait to
hear what you have to say about this one.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Next back to the great debate Classic kids? One oh
three point seven?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Should school be year round? A lot of graduations happening
right now? But what if we just skip that, just
kept rolling it? Should that happen? That's the question this morning, Missy.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Summer is good. You gotta have summer. The kids have
to have a break. I remember, just I don't know.
Every summer I feel like I grow as a person.
There'd always be something that would be just the stuff
that school can't teach, So to take that away would
just be such a shame.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
It is true those summertime experiences are always those ones
that you take with you forever.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Yeah, you need that transition time before the next school
year starts. If it's one long run of school, I
think kids are going to burn out.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Okay, I will note that boat. Thank you so much,
appreciate the call. Miss Rachel. All right, you're a teacher.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
What do you.
Speaker 7 (10:34):
Think kids cannot readier shoes right now? So the more
help we can give them, I think they should stay
in school. I'm a teacher and I don't get paid
during the summer either.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Uh huh.
Speaker 7 (10:46):
My fifth graders cannot read second grade text.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Wow, that's crazy, But I do hear from a lot
of teachers. And I was at an elementary school do
an event a couple of weeks ago, and the principal
was like, the kids can't read the elementary school kids
come here, they cannot read.
Speaker 7 (11:00):
It also starts at home.
Speaker 8 (11:01):
Bring your kids now.
Speaker 7 (11:04):
And I feel the parents having a pit for camp
or lecture, babysitter or just leave their kids at home.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
It's all too much.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Huh yeah, all right, then Miss Rachel said, stay in school,
no summer break.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
The kids need it. I will note the vote. Good morning, James.
What do you think should school be year round. Man,
these squares need to freaking let these kids be kids
and enjoy a little bit of live.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
You know.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
I know a lot of these parents think it's like
full time daycare and baby dating.
Speaker 9 (11:31):
That's what a lot of the teachers.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
I got a lot of friends in teaching, man, They're like, dude,
I'm just a babysitter.
Speaker 9 (11:35):
They need a break to you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Yes, I do exactly, And a lot of cool stuff
happens during the summer.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
You have to like have your summer vacation. Stop it.
Speaker 6 (11:44):
Yeah, yeah, you gotta go hang out with your boys.
Speaker 10 (11:47):
Go look at the girls, you know, do the scene.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Okay, well I will note that vote. Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Where do you stand on this morning's great debate? Should
school be year round? People want to keep it rolling
because they say, you know, it'll help with academics, it
will also support at risk students, it eases childcare and
family scheduling, and it reduces that summer learning loss.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
But I mean, it's summer break.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
One eight sixty six nine hundred one three seven is
the phone number you can always tap the red microphone
if you happen to be listening on our free iHeartRadio app,
send a talk back, join in on this morning's Great Debate.
Hold on, wait for it.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Here from you.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Next Great Debate continues.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Lots of arguments for school being year round and doing
away with summer vacation. But what do you think is
that a good idea? That's the question for this morning's
Great Debate. Got a new question for you every Monday
Wednesday in front, got to talk back from our app.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
You know what at this.
Speaker 11 (13:02):
Point, perhaps because I feel like our education system is
so awful, so yeah, maybe let's go year round.
Speaker 9 (13:10):
Let's go baby, Okay.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Straight to the point. All right, thank you so much, Maria,
appreciate you jumping in. Should school be year round? What
are your thoughts?
Speaker 11 (13:18):
Hey, girl, this is a very important issue that you're
talking about now. It's like kids don't even go a
full day at school, and there's like so many people
who are not educated in the country, and it's getting
worse and worse and worse. But right now, all the
food assistants is going to go away, and the one
(13:38):
place that kids could get food assistance is going to
be only at school. So I'm just putting that out
there also too, for the teachers.
Speaker 9 (13:46):
Girl, they can. It's pord to take vacations no more.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
You're like, they need the money. Just keep them at
school year round. All right, then, thank you so much, Maria.
I will note that vote. Good morning, Melissa. What do
you think should school be year round?
Speaker 9 (13:59):
That would be a great idea, And I don't have
to look for things for my kids to do. That's
how preschool is. Preschool is year round. I feel sorry
for the teachers, but I got one kid and she
is in preschool, and that's why I'm like, I'm happy
about that. So I'm like, I don't have to think
about like, oh, what I got to do with this kid,
or signing up for camps and whatnot. So yeah, I
(14:22):
would like to see that.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
All right.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
I appreciate you keeping it real. Yeah, Melissa, this morning,
got time for one work call for the great debate. Okay, Connie,
what's up your teacher?
Speaker 3 (14:37):
What do you think?
Speaker 8 (14:38):
I'm a retired teacher. I've seen a lot of what
people have shared from both sides of the story. I
just want to say you, in San Francisco, we have
that option available, and I think that's a wonderful thing
that there are some schools in the district that go
year round, and you can opt into those if you
want to, for your child, your family. So I just
(14:59):
think that's wonderful. We're very lucky to be in a
place where Yeah, I had no idea.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
That is such a great idea. You're right, give people
the option. How long were you a teacher?
Speaker 8 (15:10):
Thirty years?
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Why?
Speaker 3 (15:13):
All right?
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Fighting a good fight for thirty years. Well, thank you
so much and appreciate the work you did for the kids.
Thank you to everyone who jumped in for this morning's
great debate.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
And everyone said, well, the majority of people said that no,
school shouldn't be year round. But I like how Connie said,
pick they get an option. I think that's that's how
it should be. You just agree with her because that's
the same name as your mom.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Connie wins. My mom is a teacher. By the way,
that is so true. Ms Connie's winning. All right, Thank you,
I'm just kidding.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
Music at thirty sec Classic Kids, one of three point seven.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Time to play, give me five.
Speaker 2 (16:00):

Speaker 2 (17:02):
We'll tell your mom we said hey, and I hope
you guys have a wonderful visit together. Coming up in
