Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Morning Drive with Christie Live on demand.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Bisone Hammer representing its classic kids. When I was three
point seven, my name is Christy five fifty seven, and
Good Morning producer Karina is here. I cannot think of
mc hammer and not think of two specific things.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Growing up in Fremont.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
You know, mc hammer had a house in the Mission Hills,
which was like the Schmancy Fans where everybody rich lived.
And I remember my brother and I went trick or
treating at his house. He had security at the gate
at the foot of the gate telling kids, get the
hell on, Christy Candy here.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Oh that's come on.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I was thinking, thrill Hammer, you're mc hammer, You're at
the height of your career, You're in Fremont, and your.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Security is telling the kids to kick rocks. Okay.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
And then the second story about mc hammer growing up
in Fremont. My mom, my brother and I were heading home,
probably from church because we went to church like every
single day of the week, right after a youth group
or something. And we were at a light on Fremont
Boulevard and we pulled up and there was nobody else
on the streets. It was me and my mom and

(01:09):
my brother, and all of a sudden, this red fancy
car came up and it was a convertible and we
looked over and it was mc hammer and we were like, oh.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
My gosh, it's mc hammer. Did here he was like, hey,
what's up? And then he just drove off. That's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
It's a cool story and a not so great story.
Still holding onto that candy I know, if you're listening,
just owe me a full size candy bar, right, jeez gosh. Anyways,
hooking you up this morning with some Patty LaBelle tickets.
Got those coming up for you at eight twenty. She's
gonna be at Stern Grove kicking her shoes off and

(01:48):
singing at the top of her lungs. The tickets are
already sold out, flamed in the lottery, but I got you,
so stick around. Also some Dan Hartman coming up from
a boy Rich. It's Classic Kids. Christie Love six six
fifteen on Classic Kids, one of three point seven.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I'm Christy and it helps if I turn on the microphone.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
This morning producer Karina is here and we usually do
crazy news around seven ten and nine ten, but this
was just so insane it deserved an early morning shout out.
We're going to the land of frivolous lawsuits. And we
always talk about them, but this is absolutely insane. An
eighty four year old man is looking for three hundred

(02:28):
thousand dollars and wait till you find out why.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Eighty four year old man claims a waffle house sign
distracted him before he tripped over a curve. He says
he fell while looking at a strawberry shortcake ad in
the window. His lawyers argue the signs and the parking
lot conditions they were unsafe.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
He is now asking for a jewelry trial.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
This old man fell, busted his rotator cuff out looking
at a strawberry short cake. Fine, and you want the
waffle house to pay you because you weren't paying attention.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
How is that there are problem? Exactly?

Speaker 2 (03:03):
People have way too much time on their hands, and
not just that. There is a dude who is suing
Draft Kings, you know, the gambling site. Yeah, yeah, he
gambled away all the money he saved for his wedding.
He lost his job, he gambled away his four oh
one k.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
This man lost over two million dollars gambling gambling, and
now he's suing Draft Kings because he's like, well, they should.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Have stopped me. Oh gosh.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
They offered me sportsbook credits to lure me back to
the site after I even went to Gambler's anonymous, and
then they sent me some credits, so I had to
go back and place a few bigs.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
So now they owe me money.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Can you imagine, like whoever he was gonna get married
to and all that money is gone?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah, he took out credit card advances, personal loans, took
my out of his four to one k, and then
went into deep depression. But he was coherent enough and
not in a depressive state enough to place some more bets.
And now he thinks Draftking owes him money.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
No, you better stop people. I bet you won't do
that again. Take it easy. Oh god, you chick a
man while he's down.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
He's talking about him or the man that focus rot
we're talking about here. That's wild.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
And we got even more crazy dudes coming up for you,
because it just don't stop.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Seventeen.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Listen for your crazy dudes on the crazy training coming
up next.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Gonna hop aboard wait, whoa hold on? You can use
That's it.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
This is Christie's news you can use.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
It's six thirty three this Tuesday, June thirtieth, final day
of Pride month. Thank you so much for listening. A
couple laws going into effects starting tomorrow. But first things first,
I went to the coffee shop this morning. I came
into the office this morning and a lot of people
representing Mexico for the World Cup.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Yes, that's right, Christi. Mexico place is placed today against Ecuador.
And now, if you're following the World Cup, it's kind
of like do or die. You either win this game
or you're out and you're done. Oh wow, So there's
thirty two teams left. Mexico placed it against Ecuador. And
what's funny is that they're playing in Mexico and there's fans,

(05:34):
like thousands of fans outside of the Ecuador players hotels,
banking on stuff's honking and not letting them sleep.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
That's not good.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
I know.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
I don't like ugly. The came today is at six o'clock.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
And then Team USA, who's in the Bay Area now
in San Jose.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
They're playing tomorrow. Okay, and it's winner go home. It's
winner go home. We'll see how it co.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
All right, a couple of new laws go on to
effect tomorrow. One that we are not happy about is
the Golden Gate bridge. Yeah, it's going to go up
fifty cents. Not talk about the rapper, talk about extra
money out of your pocket.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
So get ready to pay.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Some good news though, higher minimum wage starting tomorrow in Alameda, Berkeley, Emeryville, Fremont,
my hometown, Milpitis, and San Francisco. Also healthcare workers I
think are getting a wage increase as well, So that'll
be nice tomorrow that money kicks in.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
And here's something interesting.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
You know how you go to the store and there's
always that best if used by yes, sell buy, you know,
and you never quite know exactly when to throw your
food away.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I'm paranoid.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
If food sits in my refrigerator for like over four
or five days, I'm like, throw it away. Really, Yes,
I waste so much food because I'm so paranoid. But
now California is going to have a standardized system. It'll
either say best if you and that tells you when
to eat it before it won't taste as great.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
It's not a safety cut off.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
It's just like, hey, it won't be as fresh, but
you could still eat it or a used by or
freeze by, and that's the safety indicator, and that tells
you when it you know when it's time to let
it go right, and those will be the two things
that you have to.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Worry about, so it'll be clearer pretty much.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, thanks and thank you to Martha Quinn for doing
that wellness shot and helping to break it down for us.
That is your news you can use this morning. It's
six thirty six on Classic.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Kit Christy's Crazy Train.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
News Today, the Crazy Train is headed out to Mexico.
We've all heard of Robin Hood and Batman vigilantes who
may have to break bad and do a little craziness
to catch the bad guy. And now there is a
man in Mexico and he's going viral and he's wanted
by the police for dressing up like Batman, chasing down

(08:00):
suspected motorcycle thieves, tackling them, zip tying them, and then
literally taping.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Them to lamp posts.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
He tapes them with duct tape and packing tape and
then writes on their face thief and.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Leaves the motorcycle there as evidence. I think it's kind
of clever.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
This is kind of crazy that somebody is actually doing this.
The police are like, hey, stop doing this because someone
is really gonna get hurt.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
But clearly he's catching these criminals.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
If the police aren't doing it, and he's duct tape
and people, he's not hurting them, that's true.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
He's just putting them on blast in a very very
embarrassing way.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
You have got to see these young men strapped to lamp.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Posts with duct tape.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I'm like, how did he get them onto the pole
with the duct tape?

Speaker 3 (08:49):
You don't know. I don't know, but they are not moving.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Hopefully they catch this man and they don't throw the
book at him because he's trying to do good. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
I was gonna say, I hope they don't like find
him or you know, try to arrest him. Give this
van a job as a police officer, have him come
over here plus with our crime.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
That is your crazy news.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
And if you want to see the pictures, because you
got to see the pictures, Classic Hits one, O, three
seven dot com is where you can check them out.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
They should him Darkwing duct and so that's another option
duct tage. Yeah, like dark Ring. I gave you that one,
all right, that was a good one. That was a
good one.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Ride the Crazy Train.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Every weekday at seven and nine, SI get this hour
of commercial free music next with Wham on Classic Hits,
Christie Live Classic Hits.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
One O three point seven.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
My name is Christy and I want to get your
opinion on this story. There is an eleven year old
child in New York. He's autistic, and he's making headlines
because he decided he wanted to take a road trip.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
I'm just just so curious about what is y'utda in Japan.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
So he packed his suitcase, got into the Uber, and
off they went.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
This little boy was headed to Japan and his parents
had no idea, but.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
I called my phone.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Port authority police picked up and that's how we found
out that he was with them, and they were like, well,
Uber dropped him wolf, and.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
They said he was on the TSA line.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
This little boy called himself an uber because he was
going to take a flight to Japan, no ticket, but
he got himself to the airport, was ready at TSA.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
To go ahead and take his flight. Christy, when you
look at the video, huh he had his luggage.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
Too, which is kind of cute but scary at the
same time.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
So what I wanted to ask you was is it
Uber's fault? Because the parents are blaming Uber for taking
their son to the airport and saying, oh, it's their fault.
He was eleven, why did they take him to the airport?

Speaker 3 (10:44):
But I'm like, he's eleven. Why aren't you watching your child?

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Especially if you have an autistic child who might require
some extra supervision, then you need to put the safeguards
in place. Don't blame uber R. What do you think though?
Producer Karina and I we don't have any kids. It's
easy to judge when you don't have any kids. One
eight sixty six nine hundred and one three seven Tap
the red microphone on our iHeartRadio app and leave a

(11:11):
talkback message. It comes straight to the studio. Always love
to hear your thoughts in the morning on Classic Kids
one oh three point seven.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
This is Christie's News. You Can News.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
June thirtieth, final day of Pride Month. Thanks for listening.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
So I went to the coffee shop this morning, came
into the office and everybody except producer Karina, who says
she's a fan of Mexico soccer, had their gear on.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
I need to do laundry, girl, but yes, but yes, Christine.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
Mexico place today against Ecuador in the World Cup. If
you're still watching, because we are. There are thirty two
teams left and now it's due or go home.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
You either win or you're out. It's the elimination round.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
So let's go Mexico and Tmusa place tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
The game from Mexico today is at six o'clock.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Ooh, I'm a final watch part. They're popping off around
the Bay area is going to be crazy there, there's
a ton all over the bay. Christy tomorrow. Don't forget
the Golden gate Bridge is going up because I don't
know why. Why is it going to cost us ten
dollars and fifty cents to cross a bridge in the
Bay is crazy to me?

Speaker 5 (12:15):
Where's going because they need the money for repairs and
I put that in quotes.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
The good news though, tomorrow a lot of laws go
into effect in California, including an increase in minimum wage
for a lot of cities and for healthcare workers.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
So that's a good thing.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Yep. And this just then, hmm, we mentioned this this morning,
you and me. Lebron James basketball player has let the
Lakers know that he's leaving and there's talks that he
might be coming to the Warriors.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Could you imagine if Lebron became a Warrior and then
that would probably be the last team he played for.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Yeah, he would retire as a Warrior. Yeah, full damnation.
Let we see about that. You know, hey, come on over.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Yeah, gets already expensive, but I mean go ahead and
send them all the way through the roof.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
That is your news. You can use this Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Got some Michael Jackson on the way for you next
on Classic Hit
