charts with her own hit The Bones and her assistance
on Z's pop edm masterpiece The Middle, but she's always
been firmly rooted in country music until now. After feeling
alienated for her politics inside the country scene, she's exploring
a new direction, starting.

She's even worked on her next LP with pop's hottest
producer Jack Antonoff, famous for his production for the likes
of Taylor and Lana del Rey. But this isn't to
say the way Maren's written such powerful music in the
past is changing all that much.

Working with Jack will say, let's write something insane today
and it might suck, but that's what I used to
do when I moved to Nashville ten years ago. The
freedom to fail new collaborations have been helpful for me
in getting perspective. I feel like the hall monitor of
country music. The people I'm working with now have no
idea what's going on in country music or the names
I'm talking about.
