Speaker 2 (00:03):
For screenwriters, it's a dream to see an iconic actor
bring your words to life on film, and for writers
and directors it can be an even bigger moment on set.
Filmmaker Tim Brown had a chance to experience that working
with Nicholas Cage on their new action comedy Retirement Plan
about an aging assassin. But Tim tells a Hollywood reporter
his favorite moment with Nick actually came in a moment
when Nick opted to skip Tim's carefully crafted dialogue. Tim

(00:26):
says it came on the day where we were shooting
a pivotal scene when his daughter, played by Ashley Green, says,
are you some kind of assassin or something? I'd written
a big line for that moment, but Nick turned to
me and said, what if I didn't say anything and
just looked at her and cheapishly laughed. It was something
that only Nick can do, and to this day it's
the highlight of the film for me because it shows
how great he is at doing nothing except a little expression.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
