Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, and away we go.
It's a week in which we have seen more drama
in the NFL, We've seen some scandals in Major League Baseball,
and we've got ourselves a horse on the gas and
we will get to all of it here over the
next three hours on Fox Sports Radio. That guy is

(00:22):
Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This is is Fox Sports Radio.
You can listen to. The show is always on the
I Heart Radio app and on every single one of
our Fox Sports Radio affiliates. Wherever you are taking part
in the program, we appreciate you making us a part
of your Sunday evening and we take you all the
way up until eleven Eastern time. And we do so

(00:42):
with the man you've all tuned into here. He is
none other than the Pride of Dublin, Ohio, the Notre
Dame Great and the Fox Radio and TV legend Ladies
and gentlemen, Brady F and Quinn. How do you start
off today's show and not say Happy Mother's Day. Happy
Mother's day? Out there, it's all the mamas making it happen,

(01:04):
make it And here's the deal. Here's the cool bar
about tonight's show. Yeah, is we're going to experience it first. Okay,
we get to hear Jonas Knox for the first time,
getting a firsthand experience of seeing kind of what mother's
Day is all about up close personal. I don't, I
don't know if you want to talk about it, but
how is kind of technically your first your first Mother's Day?

(01:27):
My I listen, I don't know what you're alluding to.
I'm simply here trying to do a sports stock radio show.
I don't, I don't listen. I'm not familiar with what
it is that that you're that you're getting at here.
I just came on the air to break down some
all twenty two stuff and talk about who had the
best linebacker draft in the NFL like that. That's that's
what I think of when I think of sports stock

(01:47):
radio down the middle, cookie cutter sports. That would be Dallas,
by the way, the Dallas Cowboys online one had the
best linecker d very good. See you had an answer
to that. I did not know you. And then that's
why we're kind of the young and yang to one another.
But happy Mother's Day out there to all the moms.
They're probably not listening to this show, like this show
is probably not, but it is some relief for their

(02:09):
husbands because and here's the reality of Mother's Day is
when when it when it's when we trade turns and
it's Father's Day. I don't want anything. I really don't like.
I don't want to have a day where people are like, oh,
we can show our appreciation. It's like, no, no, you
should be like this all the time. Like it's no

(02:30):
different with mothers and mothers they're like you should always
treat them with respect and show them love and appreciation
of all the sacrifices they've made. So that's my biggest
gripe with days like today is if you really need
to go out of your way, then you should be
thinking about that tomorrow and the next day, the next day.
That's my biggest gripe because when it comes around for
Father's Day, don't get me crap. I don't want anything.

(02:52):
I don't want to be spoiled. I don't want any
intro like you intro for a show when I come on.
I just want to be a normal day and I'm
not all about the like I don't go on insecure
Graham and snap face and uh, slab book and all
those other places that people like to go on and
celebrate Mother's Day. And I didn't even book listen. I

(03:13):
didn't even know. I didn't even know that. I didn't
even that might that might be something that you do
not want to know about. Look, I didn't even know
it was Mother's Day. Um, but thank you because I
hadn't been on social media all day. So you got
to make sure because I don't even know if you
actually celebrated Mother's Day if you didn't post about it
on social media, like that is right? You know, yeah,

(03:34):
you can. I met something. It's like getting vaccinated and
going to the gym. Did you actually go? Because if
you didn't post a picture at the gym or with
your vax card, I'm sorry it didn't happen. You know,
just no point now I did. I did feel obligated
to post something. You hate it? I hate it. I
absolutely hate so don't do it. Do what I do?
Come on, here's the reality. I noticed a change in

(03:58):
my wife's demeanor towards me as soon as she was
notified that there's a post a Mother's Day post, like
it's not so much for me. It was almost like
I'm being shamed by all the other like all her
friends whose husbands are posting stuff on social media, and
I'm like, but it's meaningless, Like I promise you I
did a better job on Mother's Day than they did,

(04:20):
Like I promise you, Like I know guys who were golfing,
and I'm just going, yeah, it was like any any
other Sunday to him, So like, don't give me this
crap because I don't want to post on social media.
And I end up doing it anyway. And then here's
the worst part is I never have pictures on my phone.
And then so here's what happens. I post pictures of her,
and she's happy for a minute until she sees the

(04:41):
pictures and then she goes, well, those are terrible pictures
of me. So now I'm back in the doghouse just
because I was trying to do something nice. Right, no
good deed goes on part You gotta draw a line
in the sand, essay, that's what I do. I'm not
I'm not posting anything on social media. And you want
to know why, because I tell him, listen, everybody else
gonna have this one day, you get the other three

(05:02):
sixty four and then we're good here. Yeah, that's right,
and and and and then you don't want to give
us a material for headline and why absolutely not. I'm
not into it. I am just not. I'm not into
the sharing of of you know, social life and all
that stuff. Some people are and good for you. And
some people like to have a bunch of hashtags on
their stuff and make sure it's known that you know,
they hang out with celebrities or take pictures of basketball players.

(05:23):
And that's fine. Listen, I'm not calling anybody out here
on the show. That's something I'm doing. I'm not calling
anybody out here on the show behind the scenes is
a little bit of a blowhard on social media and
post a bunch of stuff about shoes because they grew
up rich. That's not me. I'm not gonna do it.
I refuse to do it. I'm not calling anybody out
here on the show. Absolutely not. Are you poking a
bear right now? Huh? I feel like you're poking the bear.
Oh I don't know. By the way, did you know

(05:44):
bear in Spanish is bobo? Did you know that that's
how you say bear? Hey, hey, Brady, just question man.
I just want to say to you tell your wife
Happy Mother's Day from me. Yeah, just like all of
us here minus Jonas, happy mother's name. Thank you. I'll
make sure to by the way, if you could, will

(06:07):
you put that on social media? Apparently she'd appreciate it
more media. I don't have a picture of I don't
doubt that picture ever, don't you will? Yeah, there's no doubt.
I don't doubt that post on social media. Trust you know.
I appreciate you guys like noticing and never liking a picture.
Thank you so much. You don't get that when when
it took, when it took cry for help, you don't

(06:27):
get it gone. I'm out not killing my mother. Happy
Mother's Day was a cry for help. Yeah, nothing, See,
I thought you were just throwing a wide that out there.
You know what I'm saying, like just kind of covering
all basis point literally just trying not to get fired
for what I was going to say to Jonas. It's like, yeah,
it's like it's like somebody who's got their their age
range on bumble. Like I had a buddy whose age

(06:47):
range was like twenty one to seventy because he thought,
you know what, man like if I can't if I
can't land something here, then I got other problems, and
Bobo is just out there letting it be knowing, Hey,
I'm a good guy. I appealed to everybody. I don't
blame you, Bobo, good for you. So can I can
I just say what? I gotta be the bigger person here.
You have to. You have to. It's about time. I mean,
I'm always bigger than you. But you know, well, listen, man,

(07:10):
we can leave the trough talk to to another segment
altogether if we could. But how are you sell a
bon Mother's Day? Jonas? Uh? Why would I say, I'm
doing a show, doing a radio show? Yeah, that's it.
So you don't have a reason that Sully Mother's Day? No,
I mean having to do Like, can I educate you
on something? Then you know you get to do it? Franger, right,

(07:33):
I don't. Yeah, so so the so the whole, so
the whole. Don't want to talk about a thing, yeah,
like it just just not into that, not into the
to the whole conversation at hand here just so just listen.
All I want to do is steer towards the real
story of the day. And that was a horse that
got caught doing steroids. That's it. That's it. I don't
I don't give a crap. Back in the day, like,

(07:55):
aren't they all doing steroids. It's just like that race dog,
that greyhound they had caught having methanie system. Like I
feel like all racehorses are on some sort of steroid.
I mean, I told you this. I was a part
of a group that I owned a fractional piece of
a racehorse back during the first housing market crash, which
piece it was an investor group of thirteen people. We

(08:20):
were we were basically given a horse. If we didn't
If we didn't take this horse, I was going a
glue factory. So we take this horse over. I've got
family in Lexington who had a stable that helped kind
of train him and bring him along. And then we
we raced it in uh like climbing races. And I'll
tell you what this thing was like sea biscuit. It
raced its heart out and never one but it was
always placing or showing, and so it was right there.

(08:43):
It ended up getting bought. We made a little bit
off that so much so that we uh, well, we
we bought the Philly that came along with it. We
have taken on that horse because you know they were related.
It's kind of something you do in the horse world.
And then we kind of broke even because that horse
didn't race for crap, right, I've heard it. I've heard
from everybody. It's a money pit if you are the

(09:03):
first one. Wasn't the first one we had, wasn't That
thing was awesome, that that little we called it David
the Great. David the Great was tiny. But that thing race.
It's hard out all the time it was. You would
have loved it. Because the home stretch man, he was
rolling like he could be. He could be four lengths
back and he was he was gonna be like a
nose off of the winner. Like that little horse had
the best little heart to him. But he was for

(09:25):
sure hopped up on something. I have no idea what
it was, but he was for sure on something. And
let me ask you, did it bother you that your
horse is on the gas? Did that bother you? It
bothered me that the second horse, if it wasn't the gas.
We couldn't even get the Philly on onto the race track.
Like she was so temperamental. It was always something sheither
had a cold or she like tweaked an ankle. It

(09:47):
was I was like, you gotta be kidding me, right, Like,
can we not give this horse a pep talk? Just
look her right between the ears, slap her on the butt,
get her going, and we couldn't get anything go on.
So maybe we just have the right concoction as far
as what we were giving that horse. And by the way,
the horse, the Kentucky Derby winner that got popped and
is now uh they got he got popped at taking

(10:08):
a banned substance apparently after the post race. So they're
doing an investigation and if he's ruled that he didn't
win because it was illegal after the upon further investigation,
they're going to give it to the horse who finished
second place. Here's my question, So everybody who cashed a
ticket for this horse, did they got to give the
money back? And secondly, for the people that bet the

(10:29):
other horse, are they going to get money now that
he's going to be ruled the winner? Because this this
horse is going to be disqualified. And I got a
feeling sports books aren't gonna play nice when it comes
to this. I just I have a funny feeling they're
gonna say from their account I just like if you
if you bet, if you bet on the horse, if
you went to the track, if you went to the
track and bet on it, No listen because one, there's

(10:52):
gonna be cash payouts, so they ain't getting that back.
And the other thing is it's no different than for example,
we have the NFC Championship game between the Rams and Saints.
How many books ended up saying, you know what, if
you bet this game. It was such a controversial call
that we're like on the on the past interference that
wasn't called, We're gonna go ahead, We're gonna give your
money back. I mean, did that happened in a ton

(11:14):
of different books. I think in this instance it's usually
an act of goodwill. Will they'll end up saying, just
go ahead and keep it. You know, we know we're
gonna You're gonna come back here in the future because
we're doing right by you. Now, that's how I think
this thing is gonna work out. And now maybe the
people who lost but should have won because of the disqualification,

(11:34):
I can't see them getta pay out. But maybe there's
a credit or something. I don't know. Maybe I try
to make nice somehow. You see and and here, because
there's so many sports gaming sites that are opening up
and it's getting so competitive now, I wouldn't be surprised.
And you make up a good point, because sports books
do do this from time to time, just to kiss
ass and kind of curry favor a little bit with

(11:54):
some new betters. There's probably gonna be some sports books
out there. They're gonna say, you know what, we know
you got screwed over. Here's your money back. And there
might even sports books and be sports books. And I'm
not I'm not kidding when I say this. Who might
give everybody who bet on the Kentucky Derby their money
back up to a certain amount just to say, you
know what, this one's on us. You were wronged by

(12:15):
horse racing, just so those people go, man, they're all
loyal to me. All these people are loyal to me.
And then all of a sudden, you bet on a
picture who has a blister on his hand, gets pulled
from the first inning, doesn't even qualify for the start.
But because you put the bet in beforehand, the sports
book is gonna go, hey, sorry, buddy, we didn't know
it was gonna be a bullpen game. Not our problem.
We'll take your fifty bucks. That's how this goes. So

(12:36):
they're gonna want to kiss a little ass and try
and get people on their side. And this is others works.
It's it's like your favorite bartender when they buy you
a cab home. Why why are they buying you a
cab home. Well, because they're your friend, they're your buddy.
You know, they want to make sure you get home safe. Well,
they want to make sure you get home safe. So
you come back again, right, you get an accident, get
hit by a car, walking in the street or something, Yes,

(12:57):
that's no longer there anymore. So yeah, it's an act
of good will. But same time, they're playing the long game, buddy,
And that's what we're about. We are about the long
game here. And let me tell you something. And I
and you can anybody can be offended by this all
they want, and I don't care. And this is not
Brady Quinn saying this, who was a horse owner. This
is Jonas Knock saying this. Uh and I and if
you've got a problem with this, tough balls. If I

(13:18):
owned a horse, and I want everybody at Peter to
listen to this. If I owned a horse, I would
shoot him up with so much gas you think he
was a camel down the stretch. Okay, I have no
problem with it, no issue whatsoever. It's about winning to me.
And if you've got to cut a couple of corners,
that's the way this game works. Sorry, Brady, Sorry, it
has to be done, has to be I'll be honest

(13:38):
with you. I have no idea if our horses actually
took anything or not. The one time I got to
go there to actually witness them race in person, it
was one of the more thrilling races. David the Great
came in second, and uh, I was I was hammered,
so I really don't remember. All I remember is my
my nieces cheering him on. We had a whole family
they're kind of watching. It was so much fun, and

(14:01):
and then everything else is kind of a blur at
after that point. It wasn't Churchill Downs, by the way,
it was pretty neat. Although that place Derby Weekend beautiful, yes,
because of the people. Non Derby Weekend it's dump Okay,
Keenlanxton way better, a thousand times better. Uh you can
get you can pick up a bunch of different places

(14:22):
that are better than Churchill downs in that place is empty.
It is a dump. I'm sorry. If I offend anyone,
so be it. But look all the pretty people that
go there for the derby. You makes it look good,
not look good empty. I'm telling you that right now. Yeah,
those are tourists. Uh yeah, And let me tell let
me just say this. The the substance that this horse
got popped with. Um Apparently it's legal in Kentucky, but

(14:45):
you can't take it up to two weeks before the race.
And that's what the big sticking point is. Because it's
an inflammatory drug. It helps paying and inflammation at all.
Whatever the case may be. Anyways, who cares, I'll do
a shot of it on the show live on the
air sometime. I could can care less. I'm I'm betting
against that Lee Bobo Stevia because I don't think that everyone.

(15:05):
That's not necessary. We are clock guys, and we gotta
get to break. We are we are clock guys here,
and as you know, I always I always pay off
my bets. If I say I'm gonna do something on
this show, I always do it. And I'm meeting while
by my word, all right, Brady Quinn Knox here on
Fox Sports Radio. Ent Uh. Coming up next here on
fs are we're going to tell you what the real gripe,

(15:28):
what the real issue is in Green Bay with Aaron
Rodgers and the Packers. That's coming up next here Brady Quinn.
Jonas knocks right here horse racing officionados. But only if
they're juice in here on Fox Sports Radio. If Tony
Roman gets ten million dollars a year, I'm getting a
sex change. He's Brady Quinn, I'm Jonas Knox. This is

(15:48):
Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to. This show is
always on the I Heart Radio app. Uh listen. We're
just hanging out on a Sunday night talking about horses
that do steroids. I think it's totally appropriate sports stock radio.
But we will be getting into a conversation about an
NFL quarterback here, Brady Quipment. I think we're to a
hot start, and I think you're doing no doubt before

(16:08):
before we get off to the NFL talk or wherever
the hell we're gonna go. Is there a better life
than a Kentucky derby horse winner? I mean the stud
fees and what that horse does the rest rest of
his life? Yeah, great point. Yeah, And I mean you're pampered,
you're well fed. You know, you're just uh and if

(16:29):
you think about it, you don't even have to work
that hard because all you gotta do is carry around
a garden home forty five seconds. Yeah, you're doing that
multiple times a day though. I mean, just people want
their money's worth, buddy, you know, like trust me. Yeah,
but what is the up like lining up for that
one those jockeys way like what one buck twice? I think? So? Yeah, man,

(16:54):
like like a backpack full of booze at your golf tournament,
ways more than them. You know that you've got a
puke bucket like in their locker room. They're like just
to like lose weight or make sure they're out there
way before they go out. Yeah, it's insane. They don't
even infected those They don't even knock on front doors anymore.
They just jumped through key holes. I don't know if
you knew that or not. That's I forgot just saying

(17:15):
this is this is one of the things you do.
You're you're gonn get in trouble for this one day.
I just will. I'm just I'm just saying that, you know,
they can make it work. They cut down to this way.
It's not like it's a problem. They cut down. They
want to be it this way. By the way, we
do have a special guest joining us here, Bernie Fratto.
He is the host of Straight Out of Vegas, the
weekend edition here on Fox Sports Radio. We gave I
gave out some bad information. I'm not gonna tell Brady

(17:37):
Quinn that he gave out bad information, but Bernie, I
gave out bad information on the horse that took steroids
and how it affects the people that got paid. Can
you correct us here on the air, Plase, Well, it's
easily misunderstood by the way, I understand they're changing into
the name of the horse to Josey can say, but
that's just come on, Bernie, that's out of line. That's
out of line, Bernie. I know on Mother's Day and everything.

(18:00):
So in horse racing, they have a system of betting
that's called paramutual, which means when the horse, when the
when the sports book and a regulator market like Las Vegas,
takes your bed, it goes into a giant pool and
that pool of money is used to pay the winners
from losers. So it's not really coming out of the
sports books coffers as it were, like it would be

(18:22):
if you bet a football game or a baseball game,
a couple of other things. So when you bet a game,
it's created four ways, either as action or no action.
Meaning if you bet a baseball game, for instance, if
the game only goes three innings, your team might be
winning eight to nothing, but it's not a completed game.
It's created as no action or win or lose. And
so they grade horse racing tickets differently because the paramutuals

(18:46):
in a pot. Now I think, I'm not sure if
it's Brady R. Jonas one are. You brought up the
point about a lot of times in nonregulated markets, sports books,
as an act of goodwill, because they are playing the
long game, will in fact say all right, your horse
should have won. He's not a name. The winner, will
go back, will restore the money back to your account.
You're probably not going to see that in Las Vegas,
and anybody who would have bet the race here in

(19:08):
Las Vegas they cashed their tickets Saturday. They're long gone
most of the break, so it can be a little complicated,
but to that end, they usually have a way of
sorting these things out, so they wouldn't pay both sides
as an act of goodwill, where obviously they let those
keep theirs, but then they also pay the people who
potentially should have won because of the disqualification. It goes
by a house, Brady, I I know, I don't mean

(19:30):
to convolute this, but there are ninety seven different sports
books here in Las Vegas, at various properties, and every
house typically has their own rules, and it would print
that on the back of the ticket as to what
constitutes and after the fact sort of a decision that nature.
We just had the same thing in two thousand nineteen
with the Kentucky Derby. The difference was the decision was
rendered that day. So I think a lot of folks,

(19:53):
unfortunately many and probably tore up their tickets. But if
they went back to the book and the horse that
they had was named the winner, they will have a
case with that sports book, and I think in a
lot of cases the sports book will make good on it.
Can we have a round of applause for Bernie Fratto
setting us straight here on Fox Sports Radio? There? Well done, Burnie, Bernie,
Bernie Fratto, Bernie, Can I cast you one more before

(20:14):
I let you go? Ahead. So are you saying, if
we're at the race track, okay, we make a bet
like this, Really we should watch the race right next
to the window, so as soon as the as soon
as it's done, we go cash out as soon as
human as possible. I wouldn't say that's a good idea.
And also look a look around the ground because some
people up they've won the race and they throw their

(20:35):
ticket away. You might find some winners. And the other thing, too,
is just for you guys. Know, in Vegas, a winning
ticket is good for about ninety days, so you can
fly back home mailing the ticket and they'll make good
on it. Oh man, good stuff. Really, So technically what
happens in Vegas doesn't stan Vegas, right usually, Now we've

(20:56):
got a camera about every six feet. Yeah, that's kind
of like the saw a combine. I mean, they know
who's got bad breath here? It's crazy. Yeah, that's true. Yeah,
unless you're unless you're Chris Jones, you got other problems
at the combine. But again, that's that's that was still
one of the most impressive. By the way, speaking of horses,
you know what I'm saying, I just yeah, since we're
on the topic of the Kentucky Derby. I thought it applied, Bernie.

(21:18):
We appreciate a man. You're the best. There, he goes
Bernie Fratto as Lee hangs up on him. Wait way
to treat the guestly, it's called an Irish You wouldn't
know anything about that, but it's it's called an Irish. Goodbye.
You just you don't say anything, you leave. I actually
like that. Alright, Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here on Fox
Sports Radio. All right, coming up next, because we are
clock guys, We're going to get into the drama what

(21:40):
is actually happening here between Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
Some stunning statements are about to be made here on
this show. They are yours next. But for all the
latest from around the world of sports. A man who
if he ran the Kentucky Derby, he'd win it every time.
He's stone cold, Steve Sager. I'd be very tired to
the Kentucky Derby winner tested positive for high levels of

(22:00):
an anti inflammatory steroid. Trainer Bob Baffort says his horse
has never been treated with that. Medina's spirit win is
in jeopardy, and now a blood sample apparently will be
sent to an independent lab for more extensive testing. The
Preakness is this Saturday, the second of the three Triple
Crown races. And yes, as you mentioned earlier, a horse
must be off this drug within fourteen days of racing.

(22:22):
Medina's Spirit tested for more than twice the allowed amount.
Eight NBA games and we had a couple today. Miami
held on to win at Boston one thirty one t four.
They'll play each other again in a couple of nights,
and New York beat the Clippers in l A one
oh six on Derrick Rose twenty five points, eight assists. Currently,
the Hornets mid third quarter lead eighty three seventy nine

(22:43):
over the Pelicans. New Orleans with a record of thirty
and thirty seven, and the NBA find New Orleans Vice
president David Griffin fifty dollars for criticizing the refs. This week,
one of the late games t n p M. Eastern
Time will have the Lakers hosting Phoenix. The Lakers are
thirty seven and thirty game and a half out of
the sixth seed TOPSI Top six in this convoluted way

(23:05):
to do the playoffs go straight to the first round
of the playoffs. The Lakers, keep in mind, lose the
typebreaker to Portland, lose the typebreaker to Dallas. Those are
the two teams they're chasing for the five or six seed,
trying to avoid a play and Lebron James out tonight,
Kyle kuzmaut tonight. Dennis Shrewder is out tonight. Bradley Beale
of the Wizards, averaging over thirty points a game, will
not play tomorrow due to a hamstring injury, and his

(23:26):
status is uncertain for the rest of the week. According
to the Athletic, The NBA regular season ends next Sunday.
In the NHL, Rick Talkeet is out as coach of
the Arizona Coyotes. John Tortorella out as coach of the
Columbus Blue Jackets. Rory McElroy took the golf event in
Charlotte by one stroke. Martin truex Jr. Won the NASCAR
Race at Darlington two. Major League Baseball Dodger offense near

(23:48):
missing again, lost two to one to the Angels in Anaheim. Meanwhile,
tonight in Atlanta, it's a Braves lead of five one
over the Phillies in the top of the fifth, two
homer soft starter Aaron Nola from Dan's by Suah Won
and Freddie Freeman going to the fifth five one Braves
in the lead back to you, Thank you, Steve Jonas, Knox,
Brady Quinn here on Fox Sports Radio you can listen

(24:09):
to the show is always on the I Heart Radio
app nowhere. As to whether or not they have figured
out if it was a raccoon or a sewer rat
inside the Mets clubhouse from the other night, hopefully they
can get an answer for us here Brady before the
end of the show, because I know how to have
been a rat, right, I mean it had to have
been a rat, Yeah, had to have been or just
a lie being told by teammates, have gotten a fight

(24:30):
that didn't want anybody to know about it. It could
have been that. I'm just saying it could have been
one of those. So you actually don't think there was
some sort of concern over over the raccoon or rat,
not even for a second. So am I that gullbl
But I just buy into a story that was nowhere
close to that. I just look, I'm skeptical. I'm usually
always skeptical. So take it, take it for what it's worth.

(24:51):
I just I think the story is a bunch of crap.
I just think it's yes, yeah, just not into it.
I mean, have you ever seen a rat in New
York City? Have you ever seen one? Yes? Have you
seen how big they are? They're huge, They're gigantic, they're huge,
they're they're basically like a small house cat. That's essentially
they are. Yeah. They the way have you seen the

(25:14):
gift of the homeless guy sitting on the subway and
the rat just like crawls up him like he's running
up a hill. It was like it was like it
was like Walter Payton running the hills in and around
Chicago when he was back in his playing days. This
rat just runs up this guy. This guy can't get
him off because he's being attacked by a badger. I

(25:34):
don't believe it's a great one. I'll send it to you.
As a matter of fact, it sounds terrible. By the way,
don't send it to me because I've never heard of
that and it sounds terrible. Okay, Well I will send
it to you via Twitter and you can see what
I'm talking about, the rat running up the homeless guy.
All right, So, Brady quinn Um, first of all, I
bet Jesus sent a tweet he's gonna be here in
about fifteen minutes from now, just you know, just giving

(25:56):
you the heads up. He is here, and he doesn't
bet on horses that do steroids, so he's out of
the Kentucky Derby, but he will be here in about
fifteen minutes from now. Um, can we talk about please? Um,
the biggest diva in in recent NFL history? Your guy
Aaron Rodgers, who I know you are fed up with.
I am fed up with and it feels like a
lot of people are kissing his ass. I know you

(26:16):
were telling me before the show that the packers have
done everything they possibly good to help him with a
good roster, and he's just not being appreciative of the situation.
That's what you're telling me, correct. I mean, how how
do you expect me to do a segmal with you
when you steer us so far in the wrong direction.
It's hard to get it's hard to get us like
back on track right Like it's it's hard to like

(26:39):
turn the ship in time to miss the iceberg. I
have to going down the Entitanic every time we do
a show together. Here is here is the situation. Um,
there's there's some people out there, former players, whether coaches,
Terry Bradshaw on some others that that think that Aaron
Rodgers is being a bit much, that he's being a
little bit of a diva. And I think that although

(27:00):
I can understand why some people would feel that way, you,
of all people, wouldn't know better than anybody having played
the position and having played the position in some places
where they didn't help the courterback at all whatsoever. You
of all people, could speak on this from a different
perspective that could make other people sort of understand what
the frustration is. Because you know Aaron Rodgers and you've

(27:22):
told me he's a good guy. Like you said, No,
he's a good guy. He's he's a great guy. He's
misunderstood a bit because like take for for instance, and
I'm not gonna go in the depth of his family,
you know, ties or issues and all that stuff. But
there's always two sides to a story, and it seems
like the only sides we've heard is everyone but his
about all that. And so it's unfair for us to

(27:44):
concoct whatever decision we want when we don't know his
side of the story of what started the fracture between
him and his family, and that's his personal life and
it should stay personal. But the reality is there's another
side you know, of his family that didn't keep it,
you know, quiet, that that it made it more public
instead of keeping it personal, which is why people didn't

(28:05):
have this idea like he's you know, doesn't have a
kind harder, is not a good dude, but he is.
There's there's no doubt he's a great dude. People who
know him, people who play for him, they love him,
um and and and they go to bad form every time.
So you know, the crux of the issue is this,
you know, I think if if we're gonna look back
at how the Packers handled Brett Farve, we look back

(28:27):
and in history and we say, well, they got it
right because they want a Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers and
he's one of the greatest talents we've seen. Well okay,
I mean they got a right in drafting him. Um,
maybe not necessarily to transition how it happened, but that
was also a little bit of Bret's fault. The difference
in this case is like Aaron has done nothing wrong.
He has done nothing wrong. He's played sixteen seasons for

(28:49):
this team. He's never talked about retiring or hanging them
out to dry in anyway. You know, he really talked
about before, you know. And he opened up after they
took Jordan Loving the draft last year and said, you know, look,
I this is the first time I envisioned my career
not ending in Green Bay. Like he wanted to play
into his forties. He wanted he wanted to finish his
career there and played for one team. And this one

(29:12):
move by Brian guten Kunst and Matt Lafleur, who you
know who. I obviously guten Ainst, you know, handles the draft,
but I assumed la Floor is on board with it too.
You know, they make this decision to trade up. It's
not like he fell to them. They traded up. They
gave away potential draft capital to take him, and they
and they're like, at the end of the day, do

(29:32):
they have to prepare for the future. Sure, But then
the guy goes and wins the NFL MVP, So now
how does that look? And as much as you want
to say, well, they didn't need wide receivers because look
what he was able to do last year, it's about
winning a Super Bowl, the NFL MVP. As much as
it's about, you know, the quarterback play stats and all
that stuff. He needed help. He's still don't get enough
help to win a Super Bowl. I was just good

(29:53):
enough to win an m v P. And so the
frustration comes from the fact that while you've got other
teams that are doing their best to build out around
the position. No better example than Tom Brady going to
the Tampa Bay Bucks and then bring down a guy
to Antonio Brown out off the field issues, Rob Grokowski
who was retired, and they said, yeah, bring Gronk on boards. Cool.
Sounds good to us. The way they've continued to draft

(30:15):
players to build out around him, give him help and
listen to him. Even by the end of the season,
that offense is looking a lot more like New England
than it was like Arizona or excuse me, like Tampa
Bay or Arizona or Pittsburgh when when Bruce Arians was there.
So the reality is other quarterbacks are taking notice and
they're saying, well, why should I stay with an organization
it's not gonna be able to cater or at least

(30:35):
give me a little bit of input as far as
who we bring in and I think he's frustrated with
the way they've you know, released and moved on from
guys who are good locker room guys, guys who are
good for the culture of the team, whether it's Jordy
Nelson or Randall Cobb, guys who he threw to. So
I can understand his frustration. They made it back to
back years in the NFC Championship game, and in in

(30:56):
either case they had enough to be able to make
it happen. So this year they go get him a
wide receiver to Mary Rogers, who I think he'll love
if he ends up planning there. But the reality is
he should be frustrated with the way they've handled the
best couple of seasons and instead of doing all they
can to build out around him, it's almost like they're
doing all they can to build for when he's gone.
The one thing that you that you brought up that

(31:18):
I think is a good point, and you alluded to
this last week, is I don't think it's any coincidence
and that in the same offseason you've had Deshaun Watson,
Russell Wilson, and Aaron Rodgers all be out there with
potential trade rumors because they're unhappy with what their organization
has done for them. And one of the things you
pointed to was they see Tom Brady and they go

(31:40):
that guy got everything you wanted. I mean, he he left,
he went down, played where he wanted to play. Um
Bruce arians was on record saying, wow, we don't need
Antonio Brown. They went and signed Antonio Brown. Who do
you think was behind that? Rob Bronkowski came out of retirement,
was awesome in the Super Bowl. So he Brady went
and shows his own path and it's going to get

(32:01):
to dictate terms to how his career ends. And I
just wonder if it's any coincidence that all three of
these quarterbacks started speaking up a little bit in the
same offseason, right after Brady went out and did what
he did, and and the fact that that's not really
done much in the NFL, that a lot of players
just don't get that opportunity. That that's where all defend
Aaron Rodgers on this. He looks at this and goes, Hey,

(32:24):
I want to be able to determine my fate, like
I want to be able to go out how I
want to go out. And it feels like either gooda
Coons wants to put his fingerprints all over the organization.
But those two guys clearly have an issue. And I
don't know how it gets fixed because there's a lot
of people that are saying, man, once Aaron Rodgers is
dug in, like, good luck talking him off the ledge.
I I don't. I just don't know how he goes

(32:45):
back there and everything becomes becomes peachy between him and
his GM when all this stuff has come out over
the past couple of weeks. I don't. I don't see
how happens now. It's tough because there's a number of
reasons why, right Like, he loves football, he wants to play,
he wants to win a Super Bowl. I think anyone
who's at his age too realizes that, you know, you
sit out this year A you have to get be
able to you know, give back money, you know, if

(33:06):
he wants to say he's retired or however he wants
to go about doing it, but you're you're gonna be
fined money and you have to pay back a portion
of your signing bonus that you've already received. Um, if
you retire, it would be the same thing then. And
so those are considerations from just a monetary standpoint, but
also he's like, well, let's say he sits out the
season trying to force them next year, then you know,
go ahead and trade him. The reality is the one

(33:30):
they have his rights, they don't have to. And then too,
on top of that, he's a year older, so he's
not as valuable in the future as you would be
right now. But that also like kind of plays in
the hand of you know, the logic of Rogers saying, well, yeah,
if I'm the threat to sit out, when else, you're
gonna get more value for me When I'm thirty thirty nine,
whatever his ages. Right now, you're older and I haven't

(33:50):
played for a year, or when I'm coming off an
m VP season and you know you can you can
you know, trade me after June one. It lessons that
cap hit that you've got to take from the bonus
that you paid me. They can spread out over two
years and he's moving on to his next team and
they can move on and get draft capital for the
following year. So the hard part is for the Packers

(34:11):
in order to do that, they have to give up
on a guy that just wont m v P. You know,
he threw four eight touchdowns last year, like that's never
been done before. So they're gonna look terrible if he
goes somewhere else and wins the Super Bowl. And and
and the other thing is is they're limited with the
pool of teams they can trade them to, because the
last thing they want to do is trade into a
team like San Francisco that's in their own conference, and

(34:34):
then they have to watch him and play him either
during the season in the playoffs if they were to
make the playoffs. So you hope you can train him
to the other conference in the a f C. And
then maybe if he makes a run or something happens,
you do two and you're meeting in the super Bowl.
But the reality is, you know, they don't want to
make this look like on their face either. And so
unless they give him a new contract that just pays

(34:54):
him a bunch of money again up front, satisfies them
there tries to make nice. I think that's the only
way this thing can be resolved. He's Brady Quinn. I'm
Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us. Is always on the I Heart Radio app.
Coming up next, Um, we are going to hear from
one of the only consistent members of this show. I mean,

(35:14):
you talk about consistency, Brady Quinn. Li I've bet Jesus.
He shows up, he picks winners, and then he leaves,
And it's just that simple. So people want to make
a little bit of money and make up for the
fact they just overpaid for brunch on Mother's Day at
some dump. You are in for it here and it
is just your lucky night Live. Bet Jesus is yours
next here on fs ARE, Oh god, this is so

(35:39):
cornball man. He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This is
Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with us as
always on the I Heart Radio app Top the next
hour here on fs ARE, we're going to get into
a major issue in the NFL. Um so the the
the NFL players have a problem and it's who represents him.

(36:01):
We will go to that coming up ten minutes from
now on Top the next hour here on Fox Sports Radio.
Always a good time, Brady Quinn. I feel like this
has been a really successful first hour of the program here.
I feel like we've really accomplished a lot. I had
to be honest with you, and I mean, starting off
the show with with horse racing was interesting, but it
was breaking news. It is a pretty big deal when

(36:22):
you've got a Kentucky Derby winner, um who ends up
being disqualified because they were taking banned substances. And now
Bob Bafford's it was one of the big you know,
most well known in his sport. Um. You know, he's
obviously banned from the racetrack for a while, which I mean,
it's like, I don't know, I don't know how big
of a factor that is. Gonna be honest with you,

(36:43):
what is it? What does that matter? I don't know.
At the game, I don't know. I mean, it's like
the Angels says, the hay is in the barn, like
literally at that point, I don't I don't know what
Bob Bafford's gonna do by him being in the racetrack,
is gonna change anything for a horse. It's like when
Steve Kime, that GM for the Cardinals got popped for
his h for his du was doing and they were like,

(37:04):
all right, we're spending him for four games, O meat,
do you mean four rounds of the draft? A little
bit different, a little bit different games. Okay. The Falcons,
they were piping in crowd noise at the at the
Georgia Dome back in the day, and and their GM
got popped and they're like, well, he's being suspended for

(37:26):
six games, and what is he not gonna be able
to be part of kickoff return? Like, come on, what
are we talking about here? I don't know what the
punishment is. But but nevertheless, listen, man, if you're not cheating,
you're not trying. Bob Bafford. I think he's innocent on
all charges. In fact, we should get Bob Bafford on.
I think we should because we I mean our horse
racing insider and an analyst, A J Hawk flaked on

(37:47):
us last week. So I mean, if we can't get
first off, I wouldn't put that much pressure on him considering, um,
you know, if I'm not a part of the show,
he's probably not coming with you. I thought he came
on because he respected my ability on the air. No, No,
I don't think that's anywhere close. I was gonna say, yeah,
I'm a pretty good read, a pretty good judge, a connector. Yeah,

(38:10):
a J Hawk can't stand me like I I know
that the second uh he's heard me speak before I
go this guy didn't like me. I could just tell
I'm able to read. It started off with the pink
pants at the golf tournament. I think that's where things
got weird. Yeah, but don't judge me for my pants.
Judge me for the content of my character. And I
shook his hand and I was trying to have a
conversation with him, and then your buddy Pat interrupted and

(38:33):
started talking about some comedy show they went to in Columbus, Like,
what what am I supposed to do with that? How
do I compete with that? I got question? Yeah, that's
a great question. It is. It is a great question. Um,
all right, So so Brady Quinn, Aaron Rodgers, if you
were if you walked up to a sports book right
now and they said yes or no? Is Aaron Rodgers

(38:54):
taking snaps for the Green Bay Packers week one? Which
way you're betting? I don't know, don't not. I still
with that, Yes, I I think he's I think I
I would still bet yes, but I'm not going to
be surprised if he's in another uniform or if he's
just not there. Okay, so let's let's say yes or no,
because because to me, I hate playing that game because

(39:15):
it's it's there's there's too much that could and will
potentially happen if it does percentage chance, Like, I think
it's a little bit more than for me that he'll
be back in Green Bay, but not much like I'm thinking, like, yeah,
I agree, I think, Oh my gosh, hey listen, yeah,
maybe I bet Jesus has a thought on this radio.

(39:38):
I mean, I just do that well rounded individual that
shows up every week at the Let me like a
hold a lot of second. The lights are completely out
in the studio here, and I just want you to know, Brady,
I'm not I'm These aren't shenanigans. I'm trying to play
in the air. This is authentic sports talk radio. So
let's just go ahead of it. Just so year. It's
the proof right here. It's a long time. It is

(40:09):
tonight on the ninth day of May one that I live.
Bet Jesus proclaimed he picked to be Pakistan to beat
Zimbabwe in cricket. How about that, Rady? Can you don't
even know how you played that sport? I don't either

(41:13):
You know there's a group of people in the NFL
and they have got a major issue on their hands.
We will explain what it is coming up here just
a couple of moments from now. That guy right over
there is Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This is Fox
Sports Radio. You can listen to the show as always
on the I Heart Radio app and on all of

(41:34):
our Fox Sports Radio affiliates wherever you are taking part
in the program. We appreciate you making us a part
of your Sunday evening. We're gonna take you all the
way up until eleven pm Eastern time, eight o'clock Pacific,
right here on Fox Sports Radio. And a special tribute
to all the moms out there who weren't given a
tribute by one of their blowhard kids on social media.

(41:58):
This one's for you because you know, even though you
didn't get mentioned on social media, we still care about you.
Because as of right now, I still think everybody deserves
a Mother's Day, not just the people that run to
Twitter or or Instant Chat to go ahead and make
sure they give their shout outs there for a bunch
of likes. So this one's for you, Brady Quinn, little
dedication here on Fox Sports Radio. It's about time, especially

(42:19):
since you missed the top of the show the eight
pm Eastern hour, five pm Pacific. You had nothing to
say about Mother's Day. So I'm glad it took you
hour into a show to finally give the mamas out
there some praise for the sacrifice everything they do. They're irreplaceable. Now,
I would just say this from having three kids and
not being afraid to talk about my personal life. There

(42:41):
is no replacing there is no replacing the mom and
the impact that she has, especially on my daughters, and
just all that so very very thankful. But like I
said in the first hour, we should we should be
acting with appreciation for for our mom's every single day.
That it shouldn't be just this day we're reminded to
do good things. I should be like that every day

(43:01):
of the year. Yeah, my mom's my best friend. I've
I don't know, I've I don't know if you know that.
My mom's my best friend, my hero. Uh and uh.
I told her a long time ago, I will never
get you a single thing on Mother's Day. I literally
told her this, and she said, I don't want anything.
I was like, I'll do every other day's yours. I
just I don't want to be a part of the
maid up holiday. I can't do it. I just can't

(43:23):
do it. I cannot do it. And so therefore it
does feel a little like a hallmark holiday, doesn't it.
I mean, I'll be honest with you, it's like we're
making up days of the year to celebrate certain things.
That's just like, come on, people were better than this,
Like it should be like this every single day, like
it's not that complicated. It really isn't that complicated. But
but here's what is complicated, Brady Quinn, And I need

(43:44):
your expert opinion on this because I just I want you.
I'm gonna read something to you and then I'm going
to give you more details about why this may not
have been the most effective approach, all right, So so
I just want to read this to you. This is um,
This is from the NFL Players Union in regards to
Juwan James, who went down with the injury and and

(44:06):
you know owners in the league pointed out today you know, um,
just see you know, reminder this injury that he suffered
the Broncos offensive lineman. It happened away from the facility,
which you guys have been fighting for, which means they're
not actually obligated to pay him anything, like they don't
have to pay for it at all because it was
away from the facility. So I want you to tell
me if you think this changes anything. I'm just gonna
read this statement to you. This is from the NFL

(44:28):
Players Association Union. Here we go. Quote, it was gutless
to use a player's serious injury as a scare tactic
to get you to come running back to these workouts.
This memo is another sign of what they think of
you and also affirms that they simply want to control
you year round in any and every way that they can.

(44:48):
We have been in touch with Juan James. Despite an
open threat of a non football injury designation, Juwan was
working out to stay in shape under a program recommended
to hi him by his coach, Brady Quinn. How much
is that going to change things, especially since they're locked
into this deal for the next ten years. I think

(45:09):
there's a lot of frustration with Juan James in general,
and it's not all like necessarily his doing. You know,
his first year is he was there. I believe he
played three games before he got hurt. It was out
the rest that season. Last year he opted it to
opt out due to COVID. Now. The interesting thing about that,
and I had heard this from someone who was within
an NFL organization to a coach, and he had said

(45:31):
that the player had talked to him saying the NFLPA
reached out was telling him he should think about opting out,
not because of COVID. Now, They weren't saying, you know,
necessarily whether or not there's some concerns one way or
another about the COVID. It was about the actual structure
of his contract, and the concern was this, if he
was going to decide to go play that year, Let's

(45:52):
say he had like ten million and guarantees per se,
this this player we're talking about, if they were only
to finish half the season and then shut down due
to COVID, you know that other five million, if it's
a ten million and guarantees, five would be paid and
the other five million would go off into the ether,
and they don't know if he, you know, would get
it or when he would get it. It was supposed

(46:14):
to be tagged on the back end of a deal,
but you know, he could be released by that point
in time. And so the reality is there is a
risk of any player who had a budget guarantees going
into last season, if a portion of the season was
to be canceled due to COVID, they wouldn't received that
portion like they were supposed to, maybe not, maybe not ever,
if not for years later. So the NFL p A

(46:38):
was then advising players to opt out based on their
contractual obligations or what the language said so I think
there's a bit of frustration to from that standpoint because
obviously played an entire season. Um, yes, COVID impacted a
few weeks, but by and large, the players, the coaches,
everyone involved did a great job and they got through
the season. And so then now we find ourselves where

(47:00):
he wasn't going in every day. He was actually going
in intermittently, so he would go in maybe for a
day or two, and then he wouldn't for the rest.
And so that's what makes this difficult is if he
was in there every single day, obviously we will be
having this conversation. The injury would allow him to be
guaranteed because he got hurt doing a workout that was
advised by the team at the team facility, and we

(47:21):
wouldn't have any conversation about this. But because the NFL
p A has been so brazen about, you know, making
guys stay home and trying to get them to to
not you know, go in as a sign of unity
that you know they want to change the offseason work conditions,
you know, these these owners shouldn't back down at all.
I mean they should put their foot down. And look,

(47:41):
you know me, I always speak on behalf the players
for the players. This is an instance where it's just
bad leadership. It's a dumb idea to try to flex
leverage at a point where no one cares. It's the
off season, and yet now you're trying to set a
precedent in the off season. So and by the way,
there's data that would that would show because the players
union was trying to say no, actually, injuries were down

(48:03):
last year, and there's data that doesn't support that. The
NFL actually came back to you know, on them and
then compared some of the data that they showed about
soft tissue injuries, and you can even make the case
they were up in some areas. So all the way around,
not going in earlier to work out, the train, to practice,
prepare their bodies for what is a tough schedule of
an NFL season not only hurt them last year more

(48:24):
than they realized, but it's gonna hurt them in the
future if that's the stance they want to take. Okay,
aren't the facilities these NFL these team facilities? All right,
I've never I don't think i've ever been in one,
but these team facilities last I heard, they're pretty amazing.
Just the set up. Everything that's there, Everything you could
possibly want is there. If COVID was a concern last year,

(48:45):
it shouldn't have been a concern. They showed some of
the highlights of of how everything was tightened up during
a hard knocks, like you couldn't even open the door
to a cooler. Everything you used your foot so you
didn't get germs on your hands. It feels like these
are pretty immaculate setups of these players. Why would you
not want to train there? Like why? Why? Why would
you know? Why? Like why risk the this happening to

(49:08):
your contract? If you're going to get an injury, why
would you want it to happen anywhere else? And furthermore,
why would you want to work out anywhere else? If
you can go there, be in and or in the building,
around the team or around those people in the facility
to try and get it. I just I don't understand
why you wouldn't want to take advantage of it, like,
like what is this for just just to make especially
the Broncos. And so there's a number of reasons. One,

(49:30):
so it's kind of a pain the hoops you have
to jump through just to go in and be able
to train because of all the COVID protocols there is
there is there are some players you feel like, may
I just want to be able to work out of
my own or workout a facility where I don't have
to jump through all these hoops just to go work out. UM,
there are some some players you feel like they get
better training, you know, training and treatment going to their
own guy who's gonna focus specifically on them. And that

(49:52):
may be true, Like I can't, I can't argue with that.
The hard thing is for Denver's like Lauren Lando was
one of the most respected strength coaches not only the NFL,
but maybe even like worldwide, definitely throughout the United States. UM.
And so not only do they have one of the
best strength trainers, they also have one of the best
facilities as they've redone in the past five or six
years whatever it's been, So there's it would be hard

(50:14):
pressed to find a better place to go train in
Denver than with their strength coach with with then with
their facility. So that's the hard part. But again the
reality is they have to stagger the schedule. There can
only be so many players in the facility due to
the COVID restrictions that are still in place, So that
plays to some of the frustration by some of these players.
But again it goes back to this, this is not

(50:35):
the time to try to negotiate the c b A
that you sign. You could have negotiated this last year.
We had a chance to when you cut out all
those Postcreer player benefits. When when you went ahead and
agreed to a seventeenth game, and now, what do you
think the owners were gonna do? You dodn' think they
were gonna exercise the right of its seventeenth game when
you put it in the collective bargain agreements. It's Look,

(50:55):
it's bad leadership. Uh, there's no other way of looking
at it. And I mean, look, bringing in bringing in
Tom Brady, bringing in Tom Brady to be a part
of the call is it's hilarious to me because I
think I know exactly what he's doing. And that's the
funny thing is is no one's going to figure it
out until it's too late. So the and the and

(51:17):
the Tom let me just before we jump into the
Tom Brady side of this, this feels to me like
maybe there's a decent amount of players in and around
the league that didn't realize until this injury happened, because
it wasn't made clear to them by the p A
that hey, man, so we encourage you to work out
away from the facility and come out and be in

(51:37):
unison and show show show togetherness, arm and arm. But
it was almost like they weren't aware that this is
one of the drawbacks though, like this is one of
the things that could possibly happen. You could lose a
lot of money if you suffer an injury, which players
do every offseason, uh, getting ready for the season. It
happens all the time if you're away from the facility.
It's not the team's hands are are washed. They don't

(52:00):
have to. It feels like maybe players weren't made aware
of this stipulation and this part of the program. And
if you're a player and you're just now finding this out,
you feel bad for Juwan James because you're a player
and you just only imagine what he's going through. And
I gotta be looking around at the p A and
de Morris Smith and some of these guys and goings
like what are we doing here? Like like like what's

(52:22):
actually happening? And this memo feels like a group of
people that got that got worked over negotiations, got embarrassed
by the owners, and are now trying to fight back
and use cute language and show this togetherness. But it's
too late. You already got exposed. Um, it's not only
about being exposed, it's just it's now coming out that
they basically did a deal that uh it's it's look,

(52:46):
they got a couple they got a number of things
out of it. Like here's the struggle always of the
NFL versus the NFL p A, the NFL, the owners.
There's only thirty one of them right now. There's thirty
two teams. Remember Green Bay is is publicly you know,
they have a bunch of shareholders. So there's and so
Mark Murphy ass or access their um you know, president
or owner if you will. So those two two thirty

(53:08):
two teams will come together and they have like one
or two things that are trying to go for. They're
very specific and strategic at the way in which they're
trying to negotiate with the players union because they're deals
so good. There's only a couple of things, big ticket
things they're trying to go for. The NFL p A
on the other hand, has all these members both you know,

(53:29):
president and and past and you know future to think about.
And so the problem is that they're trying to get
like five or six things accomplished, but just incremental improvements
in all of them. And so you never really feel
like you come away with a win because you're just
kind of sliding forward a little bit in some different
areas even though you're still not getting to where you

(53:51):
need to ultimately be. So that's the frustration. I think
where they get exposed is just the ability to actually unify.
I mean, even in this instance, what do we see
Guys who have workout workout bonuses. They're showing up. Young
players who want to prove themselves, they're showing up. I mean,
think about a Drew Lock for example, he's he's in
a battle for his job. You think he's gonna sit

(54:13):
out and not go there and not be as much
be there as much as he can around his teammates
or around that facility and around the coaching staff. So
the expectation that players are gonna miss time, especially those
that feel like they can either get ahead or that
their jobs on the line, was just entirely um I
guess overlooked. But the reality is even getting someone like

(54:37):
Tom Brady to convince these players, it's all a shell
game because Tom Brady, as we saw last year, even
when they were restricted from workouts during they were still
get together and working out. Like you don't think that
he wants to convince everyone to limit their off season
time while meanwhile he's over there running his own workouts
on the side because he knows that's how he's gonna operate. Yeah, yeah,

(55:01):
all you guys, Yeah you don't need to You don't
need to go and do that. Yeah no, no, Like, look,
we need to stand together. We need to do this
and that. Um he got guys, by the way, meet
at Jeter's house. He's got a living room that's about
eight thousand square feet. We're just gonna run a little
install there as we prepare to win back to back
Super Bowls. Don't tell anyone a Scotti a B. It's

(55:22):
Tom a pirate ship three beating r B square and
then we're off and running. And it wasn't the last
year that Byron left which walked into the wrong house
with with a bag of footballs. Was that Tom Brady
that walked into the wrong house in Tampa with a
bag of footballs expect. I think it was Tom Brady,
but again it doesn't matter. At one point I think
they like shoot him off a field for violent violating

(55:44):
like the park rules or something. But again, like that,
that's what we're talking about. So like you see the
nflp A utilize him in that way, and so he
comes up to bat and goes yeah, okay, and then
just goes off and does his own thing anyway, So
sure you can listen to what he's saying, but really
watch his action, is right, you know. Uh, But that's
that's always been kind of one of the things that

(56:05):
PA has done. They've come to Tom Brady anytime they've
needed to take on the NFL in some fashion reform,
and then he's just kind of got off and done
his own thing. So good Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here
on Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with us.
Is always on the I Heart Radio app coming up
next here on FSR. And first before we get to that,
we do want to let you know we are brought
to you by Navy and for hot water that never

(56:26):
runs out, go tankless with Navy and Navvy and Tankless
water heaters provide endless hot water for spotlight comfort. Visit
Tankless made Simple dot Com and save hundreds of local
rebates Tankless made Simple dot Com. Coming up next, we
could see a quarterback in the NFL who maybe doesn't
realize it, but is slowly on his way out the door.

(56:50):
We will dive into that for you next here on FSR.
God all right, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks here on Fox
Sports Radio. You can always find this show on the
I Heart Radio app. Man, this song stinks all right?
Coming up in about ten minutes from now here on

(57:11):
fs ARE, we are going to have another edition of
Headline or Lie. It is a radio gold. It is
the top rated competition on sports radio every single Sunday night,
and that's saying something because there's a lot of these
out there. The fact that we're number one, and I
think this is in large part why the Oscar struggles
going head to head against us every year is because

(57:33):
of things like Headline or Lie that we do on
the show. Brady Quinn, and it's coming up eight seven
seven nine nine on Fox. The phone number eight seven
seven six six three six nine. We are looking for
two participants. To people who want to be a part
of this phenomenal game show. It'll be yours here again
ten minutes from now. And Brady, you really just have
one request, right, You're not asking for a whole lot

(57:54):
from these people, correct, No, just just that, you know, whatever,
a little bender they're on right now, having a couple
of nice adult beverages. You just stay right on your course, Okay,
don't let us make you deviate whatsoever. It's mother's day,
drinking in toast to her. Go ahead and finish that
adult beverage, grab yourself another one, and then join us
for headline or line. Agreed, and and don't embarrass your

(58:14):
mom by when we ask you, is it a headline
or lie? You say true? Come on, man, get it together.
They can name it. The game is headline or lie.
I'm tired of that crap happening on the air. But
if next time somebody does it, they should be disqualified,
disqualified or we don't you know what. That's your stance
if someone slips up and makes that mistake. If you're
my partner, you know it's so be it. And I'm

(58:36):
not again, I'm not one of these like you know,
tough guys, you know, trying to get all hard on
people on the radio and if they mess up, you know,
headline or lie or true or false swept. I mean, honestly,
maybe it should just be true or false. You know,
maybe headline or lie is actually kind of hard to
go May maybe you should rebrand the entire segment. Yeah,
true or false is original, that's not that's never been
done before on sports radio on TV. We're trying to

(58:57):
We're trying to break barriers here, Brady Quinn, alright, like
think like never before has a Heisman Trophy finalists been
paired up with a former rat at Chuck E Cheese.
We're breaking barriers and I don't need you to forget
that anytime soon. You Understan's right now. I'll never forget that,
trust me. That. Uh. Speaking of forgetting, um, maybe Kirk

(59:17):
Cousins should forget about staying in Minnesota the rest of
his career though that was really a stretch on the
uh tying it all together, they're um not the easiest
segue in the world. But Kirk Cousins, Um. He is
the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings and you would think, man,
he's got a contract. I mean, he hasn't played that bad.
I mean, I actually think Kirk Cousins has played pretty

(59:38):
good football over the past couple of years. He finally
want to playoff game, and then they ran into the
wood chipper that was the forty Niners in the Bay
Area and things didn't go on. Then last year they
got off to a slow start, but the defenses had
some issues. He lost Stefon Diggs, but Jefferson looks like
a stud at wide receiver. And you're like, all right, well,
Kirk Cousins, I don't think he's the problem in Minnesota.

(59:59):
And in you come out and there's reports that you
were wanting to draft Justin Fields if you were there
at fourteen, I believe. And then you go out and
you take Kelln Mond in the third round, a guy
who was really good at the Senior Bowl week UM
at A Texas A and M and so. Rick Spielman,
their general manager, he said all the right things, said

(01:00:20):
Kirk Cousins, our guy. He knows that we just brought
in Kellen Mond because we wanted to have some competition
for the backup quarterback position. Um, this feels like not
that this year is the end for Kirk Cousins in Minnesota,
but they've at least seen where the end would would
most likely be and what they're hoping for, and it
feels like Minnesota is going to slowly start to detach

(01:00:42):
themselves from Kirk Cousins here pretty quick. That's a big year.
It's a big year for Kirk Cousins in part because
I think like he's been there long enough where they're
hoping to get over the hump. Okay, remember it was
case Keenum who really got them as close as they've
been to a Super Bowl. Yeah, So I think this
is a team that's now looking at the money they've

(01:01:03):
invested in Kirk Cousins, and even though he's been solid,
he hasn't ultimately got them to that point of being
able to win a Super Bowl. And that's obviously what
they're in the business of doing. They're trying to do,
and I think they feel like they've got a competitive
enough roster. So I think right now they're looking at
at saying this is a huge year for Kirk to
go out and perform well and take us as far

(01:01:25):
as he can go, because next year he is going
to get paid his cap hit, his astronomical I want
to say it's like forty five million or something like that. US.
So they're gonna have a decision to make, you know,
from a financial standpoint, what they want to do. And
you know, if Kellen Mon was to go into either
of vie due to injury to Kirk Cousins, which he
does a good job protecting himself getting the ball out

(01:01:45):
of his hand quick, so I don't foresee that happening.
But if Cousins falters and they put Mond in and
Mon is a you know, I want to say, a
stark contrast and how they play. But he can run
some zone read, he can he can add that element
to their offense and things start going well, Yeah, I
think you could end up seeing the writing on the wall,
or at least the beginning of the end for Kirk

(01:02:05):
Crsens in Minnesota. Now, I have a little bit of
a I've got a Vikings insider, alright, somebody with Minnesota
ties that that I rely on here at Fox Sports Radio.
And I'm not going to give out their information here
on the air. I just don't want to do it.
I'm not gonna give out who this is. But they
tell me this is basically the book on how Minnesota
feels about Kirk Cousins. Good quarterback, you can win games

(01:02:28):
with them. He's not gonna make a ton of mistakes,
but there's it's obvious there's a ceiling. And I just
wonder if Minnesota maybe looks at what Kansas City did
a few a couple of years back with the Patrick
Mahomes Alex Smith situation, and they go, Look, he's serviceable
enough to get us to a certain point, but maybe
he's not the guy to get us beyond that point,

(01:02:49):
and maybe we want somebody with with a bigger upside.
I know you've been big on on Kellen Mond coming
into the draft, so maybe they look at that and go,
let's just see what he's got, Because we know what
we've got and Kirk Cousins, but let's just let's knock
on a couple of doors and see what else is
out there from a quarterback who's got much better physical
traits and much more athletic especially in today's NFL. Maybe

(01:03:09):
that makes all the sense of the world. Maybe that's
also what the forty Niners are hoping with Trey Lanton
Jimmy Garoppolo uh this season in San Francisco, that that's
how I feel about it potentially. I mean, look, the
rumor was that we're going to try to trade up
to get Justin Fields in the first round. So there
was some conversation about that when he started to fall, Um,
and that's where you you wonder, okay, I mean Justin Fields.

(01:03:31):
Kellam on similar skill said you could follow the logic
there that maybe they're just looking for something different in
this day and age of the NFL, like you're talking about.
The only other thing I pushed back and was he
is a third round pick, so there's not a sense
of urgency from the fans um to put him in
and play right away unless Kirk plays poorly. And that's
why I said it. It's still Kirk's team, it's still
his deal. He's got to go in and play well though,

(01:03:53):
and he's gonna he's gonna get him over the hum.
I mean the playoff win. What was that two years ago? Now? Yeah,
you know you go back and look at you okay, Um,
you know that that's an example of the step in
the right direction. Uh. Some people will say they got
a lucky call. I'm not gonna be one of those
People's not going to be one of those people listen,
but some people would say they've got a lucky call,

(01:04:15):
which seems to just see how things work out for
New Orleans. I mean, don't shoot the messager. I'm just saying, no,
I've been listening. The last thing I'm gonna do on
this show is disparage a Notre dame alum. And all
I'll say is Kyle Rudolph was just trying to get
a little bit of room. Already felt crowded. He needed
a little bit of room, and um, you know, he
wanted to, uh, you know, he wanted to, you know,

(01:04:37):
kind of extend his arms a little bit and make
a play. I didn't have I didn't have an issue
with it. There was, yeah, you know, and there is
on both ways, on both ways, you know, on both ways. Um,
you know, what do you think of Detroit? Before we
get to break, do you think Detroit if Aaron Rodgers
gets dealt, do you think Detroit is going to regret

(01:04:59):
trade Matt Stafford because they unequippically would have had the
best quarterback in the division. And it's not even close.
If they would have just held on for a few
more months, they'd have the best quarterback in the division.
I don't think so, because I think I think they
knew that he don't want to be there any longer.
Excuse me, he didn't want to be there any longer.
I think they also just want to fresh start with
someone else. So no, I really don't feel like that.

(01:05:22):
I think Jared Goth has the potential. The problem is
their roster. You know, they they added Almorross st Bround
the wide receiver position. I'm not sure he'll be enough
to really get that group going. Um. Clearly they're gonna
want to try to run the football. It seems like
that's gonna be part of their m o um, that
they're tight ends and then and then finding ways of
taking some shots when they're there. But I honestly don't

(01:05:43):
think so. I think they know they're in a rebuild
road right now, and it was all about building out
up front and then from there they'll kind of continue
to keep adding in some pieces over the next year
or two. He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knocks. Is his
Fox Sports radio coming up next? It is the moment
many of you have been waiting for. Glad uses in hand.
Uh smoke him if he got him headline or lie

(01:06:04):
is next at yours here on fs are but for
all the latest from around the world of sports, ladies
and gentlemen. Stone Cold Steve to say good evening. Sunday
night baseball games in Atlanta and the Braves in the
bottom of the eighth leade five one over the Phillies.
Starter for Philadelphia, Aaron Nola, lasted four innings with five
runs allowed. San Diego was an eleven one winner at
San Francisco, the loss to Johnny Cueto, who lasted three innings.

(01:06:27):
The Dodgers offense bad again, left two men on in
the ninth, left twelve on in the game. Angels beat
the Dodgers and Trevor Bauer two to one. Tampa Bay
a four three winner at Oakland despite only four hits,
and Texas was a ten to winner over Seattle. Yankees
in Boston each one, Milwaukee one in ten innings, Cincinnati A.
Cleveland was rained out, Minnesota at Detroit rained out. Rory

(01:06:48):
McElroy took the golf event in Charlotte by one stroke.
Martin Truex Junior one NASCAR's race at Darlington. In the
NHL two games tonight, including Ottawa at Calgary, the Flames
lead for one over the Centeritor's late second period. Calgary
must win to avoid elimination from the playoff chase. Only
one playoff spot is left, and it looks like it'll
go to Montreal, but that's not official. The NHL regular

(01:07:11):
season schedule ends in just over a week. The NBA
regular season ends next Sunday. One of the late games
tonight will have the Lakers hosting Phoenix in a half
an hour. Lakers are a game and a half out
of the number six seed, but the Lakers do lose
the tie breaker to both Portland and Dallas, the two
teams they're chasing to try and avoid the play in final.
As for some of the early evening games, Dallas a

(01:07:33):
winner at Cleveland one seven. Cleveland's lost ten in a row,
New Orleans in Minnesota, each one on the road, New
York in Miami, each one on the road. Today five
finals in the road team has won all five, and
the Bulls on the road are winning big at Detroit
seifty one in the third quarter. The late games will
have Phoenix at the Lakers, and Oklahoma City, which has

(01:07:54):
lost six in a row, playing at Sacramento and Live
bet loser living up to him again. Oh my god, picks.
I thought we'd hit the rock bottom with all the
soccer picks when the games of the minute. But this
is uh if if I remember correctly, Zimbabwe to lose
a cricket match at a Pakistan Yeah exactly, Zimbabwe trailing

(01:08:16):
by a hundred fifty eight runs. Now I know cricket
you could beat forever and games go on for days.
There is no This isn't gonna be decided tonight, is
what you're saying. No, apparently it's gonna continue overnight our time.
But they're already down by a huge margin. Well, listen,
I need just to stay. He probably feels good about

(01:08:36):
the bet though, I mean based on that scoring, who cares?
What's the value on that? I mean think is we
never figure out isn't even worth the risk of laying
down a dollar alright and getting back ten cents profit?
You know the difference between a guy that bets ten
dollars to win a dollar and a guy that bets
one dollar to win ten dollars. The guy that bets

(01:08:57):
tend to win one usually wins the one, and that
ends up being one more than the guy who bet
his one dollar. So I'll take this one all the
way around, and I don't think you understand how betting works.
Look good luck. Why do you guys blame me for
his picks? Because he's well rounded and crickets. He can
bet cricket just like he can Sunday night football. What
do you want from me? I don't know anything about cricket,

(01:09:17):
but I see one teams up by a hundred and
fifty summer runs. Yeah, I think I'm taking that team
too well. First of all, I do know a little
something about cricket. Go ahead, the New Delhi Daredevil's. They
were a cricket team in India for a while, the
New Delhi Dared. That's what we were expecting. I thought
you were into like scoring, about how it goes, strategy,

(01:09:38):
anything is. It's like being down forty going to the
fourth quarter. Listen, just because you bet on it doesn't
mean you have to know anything about it. That's true,
that's clearly. Those are the rules. So you know how
many people bet on horse races just because they like
the name. Oh my god, my my favorite perfume is
that name. Let me bet on six horse exactly. Next thing,

(01:09:59):
you know, bring a tent out onto the track and
everybody leaves. You know, it's weird. Al right. Actually, next thing,
you know, a second blood sample is going to All right,
let's see, Steve, We're not here to make accusations on
the air, alright, Steve to Seger, thank you, Brady Quinn,
Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. Where are gonna play headliner? Lie?
Coming up here in just one moment. In fact, that
moment is here. It's now because we're a couple of

(01:10:21):
clock guys for you headliner, Lie, right now, turn on.
Is it a headline or is it a lie? Let's
go to the news desk. Here's Jonas Knox and Brady
Quinn and away we go, and let's get it started
here on Fox Sports Radio, and we will go all

(01:10:42):
the way to Minnesota where Bruce is listening on the
blowtorch in the Twin Cities k Fan in Minneapolis. Bruce,
what's happening? You're on headline? Or Lie? What's going on? Oh? Gentlemen,
what are you drinking? Man four King? Which is seven
and seven? Thank good? All right, we're off and runned here,

(01:11:06):
all right, So Bruce you can you can team up
with Brady Quinner myself. Who do you want to team
up with? Jonas real quick, the real Mother's Day is tomorrow.
We have something in common. We have a Hispanic says, yes,
we sure do. I would thank Jodan. Good for you.
Get the good Man there, Bruce, get ready to win? Man,

(01:11:27):
I'm hot. I want last cares about the week before that? Alright, Cooper,
you're in Denver listening here on Fox Sports Radio. Cooper,
you want to team up with a former broncho, Brady Quinn?
Does that work for you? Absolutely? There? What would Big
hel say? Oh, Alfred Williams? Yeah, would I want to broncho?

(01:11:49):
Always the Broncho? That's right, That's how it works, all right.
So yeah, so Cooper, by the way, what are you drinking?
Just real quick? Second best thing to come out of
Canada Crown Royal. Alright, I'm gonna ask you can ask.
I'm not gonna ask you what the first thing is,
all right, So we will keep it above the belt
here on Fox Sports Radio. This works. Guys. We're gonna

(01:12:10):
read a headline or a lie to each other's partner.
You have to tell us exactly that is it a
headline or is it a lie? And if we're tied
at the end of this list, we have a tiebreaker
overtime question. So here we go. I will get things
started with Cooper, Brady, Quinn's partner here on Fox Sports Radio.
Cooper Headline or lie, former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl champion,

(01:12:30):
flaked on an interview with his brother in law show
last week, but did appear on Colin Cowherd show this
past week. That's a lie, sit down, I mean, it's
not a headline. It may be true, but we're really
just we're just this whole game's got boss. All right,
here we go, Brucy headline or lie, Michigan and Illinois

(01:12:54):
have band dancing at weddings. It'd be a lie. Oh
my god, that's true. Yeah, that's true. There there's still
some very serious COVID precautions. Okay, all right, here we
go Cooper in Denver, a headline or lie? A man jesus.

(01:13:16):
A man claiming to be Connor McGregor was arrested for
selling drugs last week. Repeat the question again. It's not
really a question. A man claiming to be Connor McGregor
was arrested for selling drugs last week. That would be
a lie. Whoa Okay, here we go. Defense with championships Rady, Brucey,

(01:13:41):
here we go, man, headline or Lie. The petition has
been started in San Diego, California to change Mother's Day
to and Antonio Cromarti Diday Day. Geez. Cremartia has fourteen
children with eight different women. No one appreciates moms more
than Cremarti. Lie, Oh, ride on the board, here we go.

(01:14:04):
All right, Cooper, you were down a point here on
headline or Lie? So here we go headline or lie.
In an effort to boost ratings for their games, the
NBA is now telling viewers ahead of time that the
Spring League is on headline. Oh my god, I think
you've had the worst two players the best two weeks. Cooper,

(01:14:27):
Come on, man, let's go. Here we go, Brucey headline
or Lie. Zac Efron cast to play quarterback Zach Wilson.
An upcoming upcoming Disney series, Jets Football, aimed at engaging
the youth to the NFL. Oh my god, that is confident,
simple ye. By the way, Zach Wilson looked kind of awkward.

(01:14:52):
There was this video that was making their rounds look
kind of awkward. For some reason, I didn't see that.
You set over here. I got it from Bobo. All right,
here we go headlight or live. So if if, now,
if Cooper misses this is it over? Alright, alright, so okay,
thanks Cooper for keeping track. So Cooper, if you miss this,
it's a rap. Alright, this game is over if you

(01:15:13):
miss this one tore we go headline or lie. South
Carolina lawmakers vote to add firing squad to state's execution
methods amid a lack of lethal injection drugs. Like, oh,
my gosh, you're gonna read the news man, Jesus, this
is two weeks in a row just getting we win

(01:15:38):
big time and that is a wrap. Folks. My god,
if you had a double sided coin, both heads, he
still wouldn't do to get that right? Oh my god,
how was that? By the way, your your partner hasn't
scored a point like three weeks, like not just one
of the past two weeks, not one, Holy god, I

(01:16:02):
don't Here's the thing that I don't understand is if
anyone listens to our show, it is so easy to
determine what's a lie and what's the headline for the
most part, And somehow, somehow we've got some nemerods that
can't figure this out. It's unbelievable. If you hear anything
involving brother law Dublin, Ohio, former NFL quarterback California. You

(01:16:31):
know all of those, all of those are dead giveaways
that we're really just insulting each other. Superman to thank
you very much, thank you much appreciated from Non. Is
that the planet they came? By the way, By the way,
you ever had none before? Dishevels. Do you know what
non is? It's It's like no, it's Indian bread. It

(01:16:52):
is awesome, delicious. Oh my god. That makes me feel
a lot better about the week. There's this place I
go to. It's called disco Non or this stuff I
get at this place. I don't care. I'm listen. I'm
just trying to steer everybody away from the fact that
you haven't scored a point in three weeks. All right,
I'm I'm being the adult. Very similar Jesus, although he's

interesting little betting props that have hit the market, Brady
Quinn that I think I think we could take advantage of.
You know it is people aren't paying attention to this
because they don't want to play the long game when

(01:18:19):
it comes to these bets. They don't want to play futures.
I believe we could take advantage of it, and it's
a little preview as to what we can expect here
in the upcoming NFL season about I'm excited. I'm excited

All right, I want to nominate you for something. Are
you ready for this. No, No, I'm definitely ready for this. Now.
I know you're probably wondering, well, how long have you
been thinking about it? Like twenty minutes? Twenty minutes I've
been thinking about this. Here's what I want to do.
You have got history of being a leader, right, And
I'm not talking about just the leader of the you know,

(01:19:48):
the meat heads at Dublin Coffman High when you guys
were you know, standing around doing clean and jerks and
uh you know, power cleans and all the other stuff
that you were doing to get ready for the football season.
But you have shown time after time that you are
a leader. Right. You are a leader at Notre Dame.
When you got to the NFL, you were a leader.
You battled through injuries, and you continue to lead. And

(01:20:12):
then you are the leader of a great family. Your
your lovely wife Alicia, and your three daughters. You are
a leader as far as your immediate family, they all
look to you. I'm just all I'm saying, I just
please hear me out on this. Are you were a
leader through through? You're the leader on this show. You
are the guy. You're the leader. In fact, you you

(01:20:33):
were you were you not were you were you not
h o A president, You were president of your homeowners association.
We called you the ho A Constrictor because of that. Okay,
so the whole constrictor, I think because you did you did,
I need you to take over the NFL. P A.
Come on, Brady, Come on, Brady, Come on, Brady, come on.

(01:20:56):
You wouldn't sign up for that. But if you ran
head to head with the more Smith, you'd win that job.
Brady Quinn, head of the NFL part of that part
of it? Why not not a big union guy? Come on,
put some problem, Brady. They're they're stuck at sea, all right.
They're they're getting ready to to to eat fish and

well at the policies you looked implement to the masses.

How the hell you're feeling I'm feeling good right now,
especially when we're getting ready to talk about a little

(01:22:20):
futures bets if you will, in regards to uh some
of the latest topics around the NFL. You know, this
is stuff that you and I love you have the
opportunity to talk about throughout the course of the off season.
I'm like, I'm being honest. I'm sorry, You've You've got
to kind of murmur in the background. I'm just trying to,
you know, have an honest, respectful show here on Mother's Day. Look,

(01:22:40):
I uh for people out there and I think we
were doing this a while back, talking about gambling and
sort of the gambling aspect of it, and you can say, oh,
well everybody does that, man, but that wasn't the case.
I mean when we started doing this show, there was
a much different tone when it came to gambling and
how gambling was viewed in the world of sports. Like

(01:23:01):
it wasn't that long ago. Remember Tony Romo's fantasy football
um thing he had in Vegas got shut down because
the NFL didn't think it was And now you look
all these years later, and man, fantasy football is everywhere.
The NFL networks got a dedicated fantasy show. Uh, there's
a spaceship again. They're playing fantasy football right now up there.
That's why they're not paying attention. Like there's there's like

(01:23:22):
fantasy football is a form of gambling and and straight
up hardcore gambling is here. It's here to stay, and
it's only gonna get bigger. Man. I mean, you've you've
seen this just since you've been doing sports media for
the past you know, six seven years, Just how much
it's grown. This is stuff that you got to talk
about because it's not like people are just making a
blind some of this stuff, there's legitimacy to it. Trey Lance,

(01:23:45):
we talked about all of a sudden, the odds change
day of the draft, and he was the favorite to
go number three overall. You don't think that's based on information?
Of course, it is Baker Mayfield all of a sudden
the favorite to go number one overall day of the draft.
That's based on information, sation, And if it's based on information,
it's got to be discussed. And I think we're totally
above board being able to talk about gambling in the

(01:24:07):
world of sports, especially when it comes to the NFL.
It's a sport that both is near and dear to
both our hearts. So it's always a fun exercise to
do it, especially after we've got a little bit of
an idea about maybe what a couple of these teams
are gonna do, especially with some first round rookie quarterbacks,
and so those are always fun to kind of talk

(01:24:28):
about and get a sense for, Okay, like what are
we what do you think is gonna happen? How are
these teams gonna open up Week one of the NFL season. Now,
before we get to these rookie quarterbacks, I do want
to say this, Um, and you being a former Cleveland Brown,
I just want to get your thoughts on this. Uh
So the Aaron Rodgers speculation where he might be next year, Um,
the Packers are the favorite right now that Aaron Rodgers

(01:24:49):
is going to be a Green Bay Packer week one.
There's some other prop options out there. Is he gonna
sit out, is he gonna just retire all together, be
the host of Jeopardy, whatever the case may be. The
Denver Broncos are the run around their second right now
for as far as the odds go showing where Aaron
Rodgers is going to be week one. What's interesting is
that the Cleveland Browns of all of a sudden made
a move. They were at something like twenty two one

(01:25:11):
a few days ago and now they're at nine or
ten to one. And Mary Kay Cabot, who covers the Browns,
is a great job. She's been in Cleveland for a
long time. She said that they're not interested in a
trade for Aaron Rodgers because they're quote ecstatic about what
they have in Baker Mayfield. Now, I like Baker Mayfield

(01:25:32):
as much as the next guy. If there's an opportunity
to get Aaron Rodgers. Not only do you trade Baker Mayfield,
you trade anyone Baker Mayfield related to to get Aaron Rodgers.
In fact, you give them, give them the Calves, throwing
the calves and the Indians as part of the deal
to get Aaron Rodgers. Like they can love Baker Mayfield,
they want Brady. But if Aaron Rodgers is there and

(01:25:52):
you've got a possibility of landing him, you gotta make
that move. He'st seven years old, so you've no, no, no, no,
you don't even let me finish before you jump to
conclusions like you've got at least three or four more
good years with him the way he's playing. Okay, um,
And so from that standpoint, I'm with you. If if,

(01:26:13):
if you're every one of those teams in that list, Okay, Denver,
Las Vegas, Cleveland, New Orleans, Washington football team, the Miami Dolphins,
the Carolina Panthers, the Chargers are the only team that
I would say maybe not. And the only reason I
said that is because in one year, what Justin Herbert
did it made you kind of think, Okay, let's just

(01:26:33):
pump the brakes on this, so we've gotten this guy
before we move on I really do feel that way
about how Herbert played, So that's probably the only one
of all those teams. Everyone else, Yes, you're right, And
I think if you could make a splash in trade
for someone like Aaron Rodgers, where you now are a
legitimate Super Bowl contender, do you do anything you could

(01:26:56):
to make that happen. So as far as plus one
thousand at this point, I don't know why there's so
much movement. I don't think there's much of an opportunity
for that to happen, for them to be the team.
You know, I think any NFC team on this list,
whether it's the Saints, the Washington Football Team, um, the
Carolina Panthers, just go ahead and throwing them out like
that's what that's what You're wasting your money. In all seriousness,

(01:27:19):
you're wasting your money if he gets traded, even if
they have a little bit better offer. I do not
think the Packers are gonna be willing to trade him
within the division. I just I don't foresee that happening.
So if it's an a f C bet, I feel
much more confident in the Broncos because we've seen them allure.
You know, a veteran guy there before, and then that's
not you know, that's not the case what you'd be

(01:27:40):
doing here. You won't be luring him in. Um, it
have to be a trade. But I think they would
be willing to make that sort of move. And then
I think the other team that could maybe get in
the mix is the Carolina Panthers. Like, I don't you
know David Tepper since he's taken over his owner, he's aggressive, Like,
I wouldn't put anything past that team, and really how
Matt rule would temper and how everyone there operates. Wait,

(01:28:02):
you think Carolina could be a player for Aaron Rodgers.
I'm just saying they would make an offer that would
be hard to refuse. The only issue is, again, it's
an NFC team, So if you're the Packers, are you
might be saying, do we really want to send him
within the conference? Maybe you look at the Panthers or
you know, the Panthers go yeah, it's actually set them there.
They don't have, you know, as much to work with

(01:28:24):
some of these other teams. But I'm a little confused
because I thought I thought they had a court because
it was all Adam Gaze's fault, right like like it
like Sam Donald's there, So I thought they already figured it.
They already got a franchise quarterback, they already picked up
his fifth year option. That Sam Donald, who's had a
worst career than Mitch Terbisky, but everyone talks about him
like he's the second coming of Christ. Well, you put
Sam Darnald on that team, it's it's a different story.

(01:28:46):
I'm sorry. Look, look, I look, I pulled from Mitch
to I'm just saying the reality is that was an
awful team that Sam Donald was on. You you put
him on the Bears, there's gonna be a little better results. Okay, Well,
I'll tell you what. Mitch r Bisky never got motto
tell you that right now? So at least ye you know.
So how about that that that's where we tilt the

(01:29:08):
scales here? That's right, There's there's no disputing that. Um.
He also never got any headaches for watching too many
TVs around the didn't have that happen. All right, Well,
listen to I'm not here to disparage Mitch. I am
a big fan of Mr. Bisky's. All right, So, Brady Quinn,
are you ready to go over some of these other
props that are out here. We've got props specials in

(01:29:29):
the NFL. We've got some fun prop specials in the NFL.
So let's go ahead and let's get this roll in here,
Brady Quinn. Let's get it started here first, up here
on the prop special. Yes, I do want to get
it started here. And there we go, just waiting for
a little million dollar man Ted DBAs music here, Brady Quinn,

(01:29:52):
Old school, w W E if you will um Tray Lance.
Tray Lance to be the star in quarterback Week one
for the forty Niners right now, Jimmy Garoppolo the overwhelming
favorite over two to one. You can get paid out of.
Trey Lance is a starter, which means he's a significant
underdog to start Week one of the NFL season. Where

(01:30:15):
do we land on Trey Lance being the starter Week one?
Brady Quinn? Okay, I think this one's worth the value
in taking a shot, okay at making Trey Lance the
starter Week one for this reason. Look, I think he
needs development. I don't think it'd be the best thing
for him. However, when you trade up that far into
the first round to take a quarterback, there's gonna be

(01:30:36):
the expectation that he's going to be the guy sooner
rather than later. And depending on what you know, it
looks like maybe in training camp and all that, there's
a chance that I think this thing could be the
workout where Trey Lance ends up being the guy depending
on how he looks, or Tray Lance ends up being
the guy because they actually trade away Jimmy Garoppolo. Still

(01:30:57):
think that could potentially be on the table, Like Denver
for example, still not sure we're a team like that.
If you're stiffing around about Aaron Rodgers, why wouln't you
try to go after Jimmy Garoppolo. They just took the
guy who's gonna replace him anyway, Why wouln't you try
to go after him and see if you couldn't bring
him in and he couldn't give you a little better
play than Drew Locker Teddy Bridgewater. So for that reason,
I think it's worth the potential value and get a

(01:31:20):
little extra return with going with yes there and here's
the other one. So in two when the Eagles moved
up and they and they drafted Carson Wentz, if you
remember Sam Bradford was still on their team, and Sam
Bradford got piste like he was piste off that they
drafted a quarterback. I think he had just signed a deal,
but nonetheless, Teddy Bridgewater got hurt in Minnesota, and so

(01:31:41):
they got a deal done and they just gave Carson
Wentz a starting job. But all the all the stuff
out of Philadelphia at the time was no, no, no,
Sam's our starter. Uh, Carson Wentz, you know, we're gonna
let him, watch him, let him develop in the system.
We're not at any rush to get him out there.
He's the future. But right now it's Sam Bradford's team
and its San Bradford was gone early September, and Carson

(01:32:02):
Wentz started the season and finished the season, and we
know it ended, but nonetheless he got the job right away.
I actually think not only could that happen in San Francisco,
depending on how Trey Lance looks, but if there's an
injury in training camp, let's not forget. As we move
over to the Bears, Nick Foles is still on the roster,
and so is Andy Dalton, and so is Justin Fields.

(01:32:24):
If Justin Fields comes into camp and say he just
balls out and plays his ass off, you don't mean
to tell me that there's not an opportunity for the
Bears if there's an injury around the league and they
get something significant for an Andy Dalton or Nick Foles,
that they wouldn't pull the trigger on that and just say,
you know what, man, let's just rip the band aid
off and let's go. Let's at this point, I'm transitioning

(01:32:47):
to the Justin Fields, okay, because if Justin Fields is
the starter week one, if this scenario plays out, it's
plus two hundreds. So you lay a Hunter Bucks down
Trey Lance transitioning to Justin Fields. That's why wait again,
I agreed with you, but I'm saying as we transition

(01:33:08):
to Justin Fields, I think the same situation could happen.
They've got quarterbacks that could be coveted by another team
if there's an injury like we saw there, and if
Jimmy Garoppolo could get traded, there's a potential that maybe
one of these other guys can get moved, whether it
be Nick Foles or Andy Dalton. And so to see
Justin Fields at plus two hundred, I think there's value
there as well too, because I think there's an opportunity

(01:33:29):
if he plays well in camp that he could get
the job. I really do. I don't disagree with that.
I think the only thing that you kind of have
staring in your way is the fact that you know
Andy Dallets on a one year deal. I don't foresee
them trading him, because what team is gonna is gonna
basically rent the guy for a year and then allow
him go to free agency. I don't see many teams
that are gonna give up something for that. They would

(01:33:50):
probably just rather wait to cut Dalton and then see
or if he's gonna be the backup for the year,
and he'll be an expensive backup for what ten million
dollars for one year deal. So I don't know that
that's gonna be the case. I also wondered too, just
because of Darlin's experience the way fields have played. I mean,
and you can make the same case for Trey Lance

(01:34:10):
if both teams are gonna have a lot of reservations
about applying them and wanting to run their scheme the
way it is now to begin a season, as opposed
to something that's gonna be more dialed back or something
that's gonna be more simple, just to allow these guys
to operate at a fast pace. But for some reason
in this one. I think it's because of the depth
they have and the fact that even though they traded

(01:34:30):
up to take Justin Fields, wasn't quite as hide and
give up quite as much. I'm actually gonna go with no.
I'm actually gonna say I think it could be soon.
I think you're right about that. It could be a
week two, three, or four somewhere in there. I don't
know that he's the Week one starter though. Mac Jones
the last one here. As we take a look at
the projected odds or the odds right now at a
possible start for one of these rookie quarterbacks Week one,

(01:34:53):
we know Trevor Lawrence is gonna start, Zach Wilson's gonna
start the season. We get all that. The other, the
third one of these three that we're gonna look at
is mac Jones. There's literally zero chance mac Jones starts
the season for the for the New England Patriots, even
though he's the most NFL ready of those three. I'm
gonna say no, it's cam second year in the system.

(01:35:15):
I think they want to give him the first chance
that we're first crack at it before they want to
go to a rookie. So unless he just lights the
world on fire when he gets there. I can tell
you firsthand experience going into a Josh McDaniels offense when
I was in Denver. He's gonna be extremely hard on
Mac and how he goes about doing things, and he's
gonna want to make sure he feels confident in Mac
being an extension of Josh McDaniels out there, and he's

(01:35:36):
gonna want to ensure that he does everything that he's
asking him him first before he throws him into the fire.
So I think the only wild card is Cam Newton injury. Yes,
if that potential would happen, then that's where you can
see some value here with Mac Jones at plus two
seventy five. But I still think the safer bet is
minus four fifty. I agree, Yeah, I I just and
and that's and it's funny that he's the biggest long

(01:35:56):
shot of all of them. He's the most NFL ready quarterback,
but he's the biggest long shot to start Week one.
And and look, maybe Belichick just looks at Cam Newton says, hey, man,
you know, we owe you one. Like let's you know,
I like I think Belichick really for whatever reason, Cam
Newton came in there, and Belichick really appreciated what he
brought to the team. He was playing good football early
on and then things sort of fell apart. But there's

(01:36:17):
something about Cam Newton that I think Belichick really respects,
and I think he's gonna give him every opportunity to
be the quarterback there. Maybe for just one year, but
I think he's gonna be there for for this year
and they'll be starting this season. So yeah, I don't
even know for the full year. But I'm with you.
I I do think there's a sense of respect. The
way he works doing everything they asked him to do.
I think they're curious to see what he's gonna look
like with a full offseason, a year nurse belting the

(01:36:39):
system and what he can you know, if if he
can look like the you know, the player that I
think he's looked like in the past, being a former
m v P. So I'm with you in that regard.
But again, it could happen sooner rather than later. And
tell me you aren't rooting for Cam Newton. I honestly, God,
I hope he's in the m v P race. No,
I'm I'm always rooting for him. Because I think of
the way just you know, his work, ethic, everything else.

(01:36:59):
Everyone's kind of again against him at this point. Uh,
And so I am I'm I'm rooting for him to
have some success in the NFL. I really am Brady

Here on Fox Sports Radio, He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knocks.

(01:37:47):
This is Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to us
as always on the I Heart Radio app. Later on
in the hour, we are going to have another edition
of over D's Brady Quinn. It is a special schedule
release edition of over Unders in the NFL. I know
you're looking forward to it as the schedule gets released

(01:38:10):
this Wednesday, and the time honor tradition of picking and
choosing winners right after the schedule comes out will commence
on Fox Sports Radio and other networks here all over
the country. So that'll be a lot of fun. Yeah, Honestly,
I feel like schedules can swing a team, especially one
of those teams that's kind of in the middle, maybe
on the cusp of being a playoff team or not,

(01:38:32):
like two or three games this season, Like, I really
do believe that. Remember when they're going back to back
weeks on the road multiple weeks, or like three weeks
in a row. You know, things like that in the
second half the season when things get really rough. Remember
when Baltimore Two things that stood out to me about
the schedules last year. Baltimore never traveled outside the Central
time zone, so they traveled less than any other team

(01:38:54):
in the league, which is huge for a team that
runs the football and kind of pounds on you and
beats you up. And also they play a physical style. Yeah,
and then all of a sudden, you run into the
Bills in the playoffs and your quarterback gets knocked out,
and you know there's there's the end of the season,
so you know, didn't it didn't really matter at that
point if whether where they traveled or not. And also
wind had an impact, justin Tucker couldn't hit kicks all

(01:39:16):
of a sudden because you've dealt with the weather in Buffalo.
It's a little bit of an issue. The other one
that stood out to me, remember how I think we
talked about it, how late in the season Tampa Bay
had their bye week, and now that you look back
on it, they were a completely different team after the
bye week. Like now now that you look back on

(01:39:36):
what and I think we've talked about it on the air,
like man, Tampa Bay's bye week was like week thirteen
or something, and that's bizarre because you don't really see
teams have a bye week that later that I think
Carolina might have been the other team that had the
bye week in week thirteen or whatever it was. But
now you look back on it, they didn't lose a
game after the bye week. Completely different football team. They
just got they got hot, they got on a run

(01:39:57):
and from the second half of that Chiefs game in
which you know they were getting beat early and Tyreek kill,
I think it was Tyree Hill who went up and
down the field and you know it was, you know,
throwing deuces up as he was running into the end
zone the second half of that Chiefs game. For the
rest of the season, they were the best team in
football and it wasn't close. So there is something to
these schedules. I think when you asked the team too,

(01:40:19):
you listen to time Britty them talk about it. I
think they felt like it came at the right time,
like it really did for their team to be able
to go on that run. I identify somethings, make some
some fixes, if I'm not mistaken. Was it after they
got beat by New Orleans the second time? Yes? They Yeah.
I think that was like a come to Jesus moment
for him in the season, you know what I'm saying? Yeah?
Or where they where they were getting hammered like twenty

(01:40:41):
seven and nothing, twenty eight to nothing or whatever it was.
We were on the air when I get when that
was taking place. Yeah, not fun. I believe I bet
Jesus lost that game as well too. Alright, so we
will have that to schedule release edition of over Unders
coming up later on in the hour. Brady Quinn every
sport needs a villain, all right. They need a bad guy.

(01:41:02):
They need somebody that somebody looks at and goes man.
And I'm not talking about these Johnny Come Lately. He's
like Alabama, who have been around for about ten twelve
years and they've been running rough shot over the sport.
I'm talking about a villain that goes all the way
back to like the forties, fifties, sixties, a villain that
my older brothers told me about. That my father told

(01:41:22):
me about a villain that before there were TV deals
out for a college football team, this team had their
own damn network and showcase game. And that villain Brady Quinn.
You know them as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and
Brady Quinn. I am hearing reports that Notre Dame is back.
Please explain why the villain is back making some noise

(01:41:45):
in somebody's backyard. So they've come up with a pretty
creative recruiting campaign. And people might be wondering your questioning.
Depending on where you're in this country. It could be
Los Angeles, it could be Atlanta, Chicago, I mean all
over this country. They are buying up billboards to highlight
the players on their roster. They'll do it for recruits

(01:42:08):
as well. It's something that no other school has really
done in this sort of national stage or level before,
but has everything to do with what we're on the
cusp of in college football, and that is the fact
that there's a thing called name, image and likeliness. That
is what now n c A athletes, student athletes will
be able to profit off of their name, image and likeness,

(01:42:30):
depending on the state in which they live. Georgia is
gonna be the first state. I believe it's July one.
They've actually put together a law that will allow players
to be able to capitalize off of that. Now, there
will be other states that follow suit shortly after. In fact,
the n c a A is actually on the pressure
cooker right now because they've got to come up with

(01:42:51):
a plan for what they're going to do in regards to,
you know, nationally, looking at fifty states potentially coming up
with these sorts of bills allow amateur athletes to profit
off their namage and likeness and then and they all
can be very different. But the key thing for Notre
Dame is they're already investing into their players to highlight

(01:43:11):
their brand and their image and likeliness. So it's just
one demonstration of a university that's showing the kids who
are on the roster and the kids who are going
to be what they're willing to do to invest in
them as we head into this future of you know,
N I L which again you know your guests is
as good as mine as far as what it's gonna
look like. But they have literally, proverably proverblyly taking you know,

(01:43:37):
a whiz in your back yard. It's like almost like
a dog marking at spot. And so meanwhile while USC,
while USC is having a kid break into their practice,
go on podcasts Brad Kayas podcast to talk about his
experience in breaking into the USC training facility there and
then saying Clay Helton hit golf balls in a golf simulator.

(01:43:59):
Meanwhile Notre Dame was putting up billboards in your backyard.
It's just a bad look for everyone else right now.
Good good on Notre Dame to be able to be
ahead of the curve in this one. It's just so
simple to just throw a billboard up. It was just
what it is. Though. I think it's important because everyone
wants to be digital, everyone wants to be on like
the virtual thing when they forgot that. You take for

(01:44:22):
granted cool stuff like that, where everyone where you're from
as much they want to go on social media. They're
driving to work, they see your face up there on
a billboard, they see your Twitter handle on there as well.
How cool is that? And it's in your hometown, letting
people know that you've made it to this stage, something
that not a lot of high school athletes have the
opportunity to. So it was a tremendous idea. It was

(01:44:44):
actually their head coach, Brian Kelly's idea to come up
with this, and they're they're hitting the ground running with it.
So they've already got one of the better recruiting classes
at least based on commitments. We'll see once Alabama, Ohio
State and some of the others get involved. But you know,
so my band that I played in years and years ago,
like twenty years ago, not very good at all, But

(01:45:07):
we played a couple of shows of the Whiskey Agog
which is a really famous venue on the Sunset Strip
in which back in the day, you know, the eighties
and nineties, it was the place you wanted to play
if you're a hard rock band or just an act.
The Whiskey Ago goes a legendary venue in Hollywood. Remember
the first time we played there, we just wanted to
see our name on the marquee, like there was something.

(01:45:28):
It was so simple. They're just taking letters and there's
a bunch of other things, but there's something to being
showcased on the marquee. And we were awful and it
didn't didn't go anywhere, but it made you feel good, like, man,
you felt a sense of loyalty to that place because
they were promoting you in a in a different way
that you had never been promoted before. If you're a
kid driving around and there's a billboard I'm looking at

(01:45:48):
right now to where it's, you know, outside of Indianapolis,
outside of some town center. If you're a kid driving
around and you see your name in front of that
stadium with those graphic and that logo attached to it,
you mean to tell me that doesn't just pull at
your heart strings a little bit, like damn, man, Like
that's awesome. It's it's the simplest tactic, but I really

(01:46:09):
do think this is something. And the Clay Hilton stuff
playing golf on the simulator when the homeless guy was
walking through the facility. I mean that that's that's right
up there with Mike McCarthy getting massages for the packers,
and that story came out. So I think this is brilliant.
I love it, and I would love nothing more than
the Notre Dame to be back on the scene here
on Fox Sports Radio and beyond as the villain back

(01:46:31):
of the world of college football. I think we need
a Brady Quinn. I need things, and I think you
need to start pushing for Notre Dame just to do
more this in and around the Fort lauder Day area.
That's what I think, And look, I'm gonna do the
best I can. I do believe they've got one in
South Florida. Off to look and see where it is.
But they hit up like twelve or thirteen big cities
across the country now with with billboards all over, and

(01:46:52):
obviously this is gonna be one of the many things
that they do I think moving forward. But again, when
you listen to the coaching staff talk, it's unknown what
the future is gonna look like for collegiate athletes and
how they will be able to capitalize off this. But
it does open the door for universities to then be
able to highlight and and kind of help those players
build their brands. And that's what I think is key

(01:47:13):
here is it's not so much about the individual, it's
about the individual coming to their team and utilizing that
brand of that university to then establish themselves and kind
of co brand which is you know, a phrase you
hear a lot more of the business world of marketing.
But that's how they're looking at this. And so as
other universities are only pitching to the player how they're
gonna be to help their individual brand, they're not talking

(01:47:35):
about how their brand can also help that player elevated.
And that's the biggest difference is looking at it from
a co branding standpoints as opposed to it just being hey,
this is what we can do for your this is
how much you can get paid. You know, these guys
are saying, you come here, you'll be a part of
our brand forever and it will be one of the
reasons why people like your brand is because of ours well.
And but here's I do have one issue with what

(01:47:58):
I'm seeing from Notre Dame and what they've done on
I don't see anywhere on these billboards where it shows
how difficult um. The academic side of it is going
to Notre damn. Do you think they'll be putting that
on any of these billboards or maybe competitors will start
to do that. Hey, you can go to Notre damn it.
You can fail all your classes because it's too hard,
or you can come here and we'll write in a
couple of bees and a's to get you, get you
over the hub. Do you think that will be the

(01:48:19):
next counter attack to this. Probably it's gonna be like
a political campaign. Competing billboards now almost like they're going
back and forth in like a political Brady Quinn Jonas
knocks here on Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to
the show on the I Heart Radio app. Uh. Coming
up here, we will have another edition of over Unders.

(01:48:40):
We're going to take a look ahead to the NFL
schedule release in a unique way. And yes, I almost
butchered NFL schedule release because I'm a broadcast professional. That's
what I do. But never mind all that. When you
talk about a professional, you think of none other than
Stephen De Sager. Good evening gents in Atlanta Sunday night
ball game went to the Brave six one over Philadelphia

(01:49:03):
Freddie Freeman three for three, including a homer, the Padres
one eleven to one. At San Francisco, the Angels beat
the Dodgers two to one. Dodgers left twelve men on
base in the game. Losing pitcher Trevor Bauer said afterwards,
I'm ticked off personally. I want to win. That's why
I came here. And at the end of the day,
we're not just going to roll out the bats and
balls and win baseball games. We're not gonna sleep walk

(01:49:24):
our way to another division title and go to the
World Series again. That's not how it works. Bauer says.
You have to go out there and beat somebody every day.
Dodger manager Dave roberts after the loss, We're going to
be at the top of this division. I have no
doubt in my mind, he says. Right now, I don't
care about the standings the Dodgers record the last three
weeks five and fifteen. Steve I had had a quick question.

(01:49:47):
I'm sorry to interrupt um Trevor Bauer. He says, We're
not just going to go out there and win another division,
in a in a World Championship. I must have missed
the part when he was on the team last year.
Now he's missed the last eight division titles. You're he's
the guy who cut his hand before a playoff game
playing with a drone like he's the guy to talk
to him. Okay, very good, boys of the team. I

(01:50:08):
got it in venting. That was his truth, as people
say these days. Yes, Tampa Bay a four three win
at Oakland despite only four hits. Texas ten two winners
over Seattle, Boston, the Yankees each one again in ten
and ings. Milwaukee was a two one winner at Miami.
Now the Mets won their fifth strade. Jacob deGrom the
winning picture, but he'll have an m R I tomorrow
due to a tight lower back. Rainouts at Cleveland and

(01:50:30):
at Detroit. In the NBA, Lakers get out to a
twenty two to six lead on the Phoenix Suns in
one of the late games tonight. It's now two minutes
to go in the first quarter. Lakers lead fifteen over Phoenix.
The other late games at the end of the first
quarter at Sacramento, King's thirty five over the Thunder. So far,
all the road teams have won Chicago, New Orleans and Minnesota.

(01:50:51):
Dallas gotta win at Cleveland Caves have lost ten in
a row. New York and Miami each one on the
road today. The NBA regular season ends next Sunday, report
with all day games. All thirty teams will play. Bradley
Beal of the Wizards will not play tomorrow due to
a hamstring injury in His status is uncertain for the
rest of the week. According to The Athletic In the NHL,
Rick Talkeet is out as Arizona coach. John Tortorella out

(01:51:14):
as coach of Columbus. The Flames tonight had to win
to avoid elimination from the playoff Chase six one Flames
over Senators the final. The only one playoff spot that's
left looks like it'll go to Montreal. Not yet official.
The NHL regular season ends in just over a week.
Rory McElroy took the golf event in Charlotte by one stroke.
Martin drue X Jr. One the NASCAR race at Darlington,

(01:51:36):
and Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf had today his hundred
meter dash in an attempt to qualify for the US
Olympic trials. He uh. He finished last out of the
nine runners. He needed to automatically qualify for the trials
a finish of ten point oh five seconds. His time
was ten point three six. I'm in that's still ridiculous fast.

(01:52:01):
Do you see did you see him running against those
other guys like it was so obvious? Which one's dk
metcalf he's the building that's running next to those those
little men on on the track. That's unbelieved. He's six
four what to thirty? Runs a ten three six hundred yards?
What what? By the way, but by the way, uh

(01:52:22):
if there was a forty yard dash, go back and
watch that tape. See where he was forty yards about
halfway that right, he was moving like I think if
he had trained for it, he would have finished a
little bit better. But that was still remarkable. Well, who
was it was? Was it Michael Johnson who ran back
in the day, He was the US at the two

(01:52:44):
stud for the U s. It was Michael Johnson and
he ran against somebody from Canada and and and I
think that they ran I think they ran a one
fifty screen. I don't know. It was a guy from Canada,
um Steve to s screen from Canada Donovan Bailey Donovan,
That's who was. And they ran the one fifty and

(01:53:04):
Donovan Bailey one and then Michael Johnson I think came
up with a hammy like he did. He tweaked his hamstringer,
That's what he said afterwards. And I always wondered, how
did the guy with with that had the reputation running
the longer race and was the best in the world
lose to the guy who ran the shorter race. If
it was, I just I'd never understood how that, how

(01:53:26):
that I would assume that Michael Johnson would have won
that race, but he didn't, like like he wont He
got beat pretty handedly by who is it again? Was
it Ben Johnson? Or is that the steroid guy? It's not,
although Ben Johnson might be in the Preakness this weekend.
The way, come on, I mean, we're gonna just attack everybody, Steve,
look to p d S. You don't see me running

(01:53:48):
around a horse track, Steve. That's unbelievable. Actually, that's the
one place we would expect to see you. Okay, that's
that's I don't money, you know, Yeah, it is a
fun place to bet. Let me tell you something. Then
we as a show should go to Santa Anita one time,
just all of us the whole crew. We'll all go
down there, lose everything we own and help them pitch

(01:54:10):
a tent after one of the races. Yes, who Steve, Steve,
things happened during come on in order to shield the public. Actually,
you're talking about a sheet, not a tense think that
was about a different direction, Steve what you're saying there.
But by the way, I think since we probably all

(01:54:32):
are going to have maybe a drink or two, it's
probably best that we call an uber. But I don't
know if uber's have hers, So I don't know if
that would be appropriate for for Santa Anita, you know
what I'm saying, Like, I don't know if that would
be enough room for us and the horse that we're
taking with us, you know. So I'm just just looking
out for the logistics of it all, Brady Quinn. That's
all I'm trying to do here that in a professional
show I've done, just you know, trying to trying to

(01:54:54):
get to the bottom of this stuff. All right, Brady Quinn,
Jonas knocks here on Fox Sports Radio. You listen to
us on the I Heart Radio app and if you
are listening on the I Heart Radio app or one
of our great Fox Sports Radio affiliates. Guess what we
have got something for you. It is a special edition
of Over Unders and NFL schedule release edition of over

(01:55:15):
Unders and it's yours next year on fs ARE. I
knew this song was coming at some point. Oh my god,
what is this? Metallica? I love how frustrated you get
by this. It's just so bad, dude, Like who the
Men was? Legit? Dude? Okay, why do you hate on

(01:55:37):
every single band group, most musical performers, Like, there's really
not many you're positive about it? It does get a
little bit wearing. I mean, look, because I played the game,
because I played the game, because I played the game
that game, Yeah, I wasn't good at the game. Can

(01:55:58):
we say that then karaoke? I mean, what do we
can draw the line art? Did you had more people
in attendance than we did? Alright, So Brady quinn Jonas
knocks Fox Sports Radio stick around a little over ten
minutes from now, Arnie Spanier and Chris Plank will take
over these air waves. Always a fun listen and it's

(01:56:18):
always the best part about the show is what can
Arnie find a complain about? Like that is always the
best part of the show, So stick around for those guys.
Arnie Span your Chris Plank coming up here on top
of the next hour here twelve minutes from now on
FS are right now, Brady Quinn, Are you ready for
a special edition of over Unders? Are you ready, sir?
Are you ready to go? All right? Let's roll. Time

(01:56:41):
to put your money where your mouth is life. It's
over Under and for that we turn it over to
our executive producer, lead to lap and a man that
is trying to convince me to get a group together
to go to Santa Anita so that we can get
drunk and on horses. Lee, what do we got alright?

(01:57:02):
Real quick, you guys. Last week we had wondered if
Aaron Rodgers was going to give an official statement about
his drama with the packers. Jonas you said under that
he would not give an official statement. Brady said, over
it was unofficial. Well, it was official that he did
not give an official statement. So that was an under
jonas you one. Last week also just letting you guys know,
I did hit the under on bars. I attended on

(01:57:23):
Sinco to mile. I did not go to more than
two bars. How about that? Wait, do we have a
separate bet on that one we did. We had over
under Jonas had that though, because I had the over,
you had the over and I only went to uh
two bars on mile, So really I lost to Lee,
which which wasn't even close. You made it seem like
we had one disagreement we had to see. And what

(01:57:43):
that tells you, Lee is that Brady thinks you're an
alcoholic and I don't think you're that much of an alcoholic.
If we rolled back the sound, your exact words were,
He's gonna get so mangled at the first bars. That
is a good point. I forgot here. The margarite is
sucked at the first bar, so I had to go
to a second bar. Yeah. It's tough getting a good

(01:58:04):
margarite of these days, you know, is it? Yeah, depends
on where you go. Leave it alone, that alone. Alright,
you guys might be listening. Alright, go ahead, alright. NFL
schedule release on Wednesday, you guys, So let's do this
number of primetime games scheduled for the Packers this season

(01:58:25):
four and a half. It will be telling. Yeah, although
I mean, schedule makers are gonna be sorely disappointed if
Rodgers isn't there. I'll take the under. You guess we
have four? Yeah, I think they're gonna get a few.
I just don't think it'll be damn it. Okay to
flex games count. Yeah, okay, but you're not gonna you're

(01:58:48):
not gonna know now. Okay, so we're not gonna go
back retroactively and Brady's not gonna keep score that five
months from now and say remember this. Okay, No, originally
scheduled on Wednesday. Alright, alright, I'm gonna stay on there.
I think I'm with you. I think they'll be at four.
I bet the NFL is too concerned about this, so
I'm with you. I think they go to four. All Right,

(01:59:09):
you guys, last year there were seven total teams actually
excuse me, eight teams scheduled with five or more primetime games.
So I asked you this total number of teams scheduled
with five or more primetime games this year seven and
a half under. I think I think they're trying. I
think there's enough good quarterback play out there or nothing lines. Yeah,
they're gonna spread it out a little bit. Yeah, I

(01:59:31):
could see that. I mean, you have to think about this.
To Drew Brees not being there, like the Saints will
probably get some, but not that many. Jacks are gonna
get some. The Chats are gonna get some. You know,
Houston won't get in any again, but which still, I mean, look,
I know they were in a good football team last year,
but they still had one of the best quarterbacks. I

(01:59:52):
realized that's completely up in the air right now. But
I would bet I would bet Houston not getting one
one at this point. Um, I'm with you. I'm gonna
go with the under. I think it'll they'll be a
little bit more spread out over the entire entirety of
the of the of the NFL. All right, you guys,
you mentioned Houston didn't have a primetime game last year,
so I asked you this number of teams scheduled with

(02:00:12):
zero primetime games this year in a seventeen week schedule.
Two and a half. Thanks for the okay, because all rights?
Um did I back myself into this to where? Because
it feels like if you took over on five or more, Um, yeah,

(02:00:34):
or he took under five or more, you gotta take No.
Seven and a half and more. Right, seven and a a half.
I'm gonna take the I'm gonna take the under. I
think there might be too. I don't think they'll be three.
I'm trying to think of who the other teams will be. Yeah,
who's really bad that that's not interesting? Well? Like, I mean,
Carolina just got Sam Donald even though they're you know,
they wanted as they weren't that bad last year. Will

(02:00:56):
be back now, aren't you? Guys week eight and a half,
when Green Bay is scheduled to play Kansas City Week
eight and a half, over under. That one more time
over under on week eight and a half when the
Packers are scheduled to play at Kansas City. Oh you
said they took that advertisement off, right? They were advertising

(02:01:17):
that matchup now they're not Rogers and My Homes. Yeah, okay,
when's the trade deadline? Is it before a week eight?
That'll happen before the season. I'm gonna say, oh man,
I'm gonna say over. I'll say the under, all right,
you guys, week the under? All right? You guys, we
know the Lions and the Cowboys play on Thanksgiving, and

(02:01:39):
we know there's a third game, So I ask you
this number of a f C teams scheduled on Thanksgiving
two and a half I'll take the under. I'll take two.
I'm gonna take the under as well. Alright, very good.
How about that? Only one disagreement their lead a lap.
That's all right, I've been read hot lately. That's true. Damn,

(02:02:00):
it's protect the Happy Birthday. I forgot to say that.
