Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Let's go, stick and
chances go. What a day, Let's go, Let's go. I
thought you're gonna not gonna show up tonight. Well, I
mean on my teams won. Your teams are just horrific.
I'm a Cardinal Cowboy ram Raider Tampa fan Arizona. I

(00:25):
still can't believe the Arizona Wildcats have the longest current
losing streak in college foot But I'm serious. I changed
my I'm now a Cardinal Cowboy Ram Raider Buccaneer fan.
Don't you put that on them, Ricky Bobby, don't you
do that? I was five and oh today. Could you
have been more off on your prediction on the Dolphins

(00:47):
being good this year than you were? No, but I
was right on about four other the divisions when I
thought the game six. Let's let's have a real conversation
about this. There's being wrong and there is as wrong
as you are about Miami Arty. I think you just
have to wear it. Okay, then you're saying they should
fire their coach. Then no, I just think you should

(01:09):
listen to us when we tell you quit trying to
put your teams in the Super Bowl. Every year just
because you like them. If use the logic sticking genius,
and if you do, they're gonna be so crappy. Why
not go ahead and um just fire the coach then? Well,
because it's not always the coach's fault. And I know
my Dodgers are going through a tough part right now.
You don't you put that? Why are you doing this?

(01:31):
Why are you trying to put your mush on everyone's
team right now? Was he safer out at the play?
He was safe? I'm watching my first replay. Yes, hand
gets in so job in baseball National League Championship Series
taking place as we kicked things off tonight, Game two
between the Dodgers and the Braves, Dodgers leading now four

(01:52):
to three. Uh, Julio, your is coming out of the pen.
It was at least as Bob Benchen had described it
to me. I don't have the audio on right now,
but what it was just bullpin day. So they thought, hey,
why not let's just go ahead and have you go
out to the eighth inning. So Jansen Keilly, Jansen's warming
up the pin right now. We'll see if they go
to him. And Sunday Night football has been Sunday Night

(02:14):
football has been as bad as we expect it to be.
To be honest with you, seventeen seventeen Seahawks Steelers. Big
Ben just turned it over. Which one has your viewing
eyes right now? Arnie? What's more entertaining to you the
Braves who have a the go ahead and run at
the plate right now with one out in the eighth,
or you went on Sunday Night football right now? I

(02:35):
have it on baseball. I'm all into the bed the
Sunday night game. Even though if at the beginning I
was more in tune to the baseball game than I
was to the football game, no matter if it was
gonna be a close game, a great game, no matter what,
I was tuned into all into the baseball game. Why
are they constantly showing Ron Washington? I mean, was it
really that big of a risk to send the guy

(02:56):
rounding third in that situation? I mean, I'm I'm asking.
I mean, I kind of felt like that seemed like
a natural. You're gonna send that guy with only one out, right,
you would think so, But you're again, you're down by
two runs. You don't have to risk get that run
somewhat meaningless if you don't get the second one. But yeah,
you have to get in both though. Yeah. So for three.

(03:18):
Dodgers lead the Braves. Top of the eighth inning, one out,
seventeen seventeen, fourth quarter, ten thirteen to go in the game,
fourth down for the Seahawks. Looks like they're about too well,
let's see, are they in field goal range? Yeah, they're
gonna They're gonna put it away here. So a lot
going on to kick the show off tonight. This is
one of my favorite times of the year because Arnie

(03:39):
the postseason intersects from baseball with the NFL. You've got
the start of the NHL season, so I can act
like I'm still paying attention. And then of course you've
got college basketball, when Arnie can start caring about college
sports again. Right around the corner, let's go have tied
it up to Oh boy, yes, they tied it up.
This is crazy, deep shot center field over the head

(04:03):
of bets. They're gonna tie this game at four on
an R B I double When the throw gets away
from the Dodger catcher, Eurius was there to back it up.
And in a situation where you thought l A was
turning to a trusted arm out of the pin. Eurus
comes in and gives up a couple of runs, and
just like that, Arnie, this Braves team just doesn't go away.

(04:26):
After Chris Taylor's go ahead double, I thought it was
a great move bringing him in. I'm like, oh, this
is gonna be great. I'll pitch the last two and
thinks this game is O v E R. Dodgers of
even the series at one game apiece. Now it's four
four in Game two right now in the eighth. That's crazy.
I what are you talking about? I thought it was
over when it was like two zero Dodgers in the first.

(04:46):
I pulled an Arnie Spaniard. I was like, well, all
my attention goes back to football right now. But hey,
you know this is this is a football show, obviously,
but in the times that we've talked about baseball, and
obviously it demands our attention. Year, Arnie, this Braves team
has been a never say die team all season long.
You know, right before the trade deadline, they had lost

(05:07):
a Kunya and Anderson was deemed up. They were just
injury riddled, and they made a couple of moves, including
bringing in Jack Peterson, and they've they've turned the corner.
So I mean kudos to their front office for making
the right moves. And look they're they're in a position
now where they can take the lead two games Anonymous
NLCS and you you know I interrupted you when you
said it was your favorite time of year. You have

(05:29):
baseball playoffs, the NFL, college football, the start of the
NBA on Tuesday, and the NHL already under you know that.
I know a lot of people put that on the
back burner, but the NHL already got started. So you've
got everything going on now. Arnie and Plank on Fox
Sports Radio. Brought to you in part by discovered who
matches all the cash back you earn on your credit
card at the end of your first year. It's amazing

(05:50):
because discovers accepted in places in the US and take
credit cards. Learn more, discover dot com slash Yes, Nielson
Report limitations apply, so again, quick update. Four or four
Braves Dodgers bottom of the eighth inning in the NLCS
seventeen seventeen with eight twenty to go in the fourth
quarter between the Seahawks and the Steelers. Long day for you, Arenie.

(06:11):
And by the way, now that you're a sprinter, not
a distance runner with only you know, the Sunday night
show and not the Saturday show to go along with it.
Since you worked last night, are you gonna need a
break in between this? Are you good to go? Um?
I took a nap earlier. Okay, I'm good to go.
I should be able to go ahead and pull this off.
I've been uh, I'm battling tonight. I don't know what happened,
like literally right before we hit the air, the allergy.

(06:34):
I don't know if you can tell or not, but
this allergy bug hit me and I've i've legit been
sneezing for the better part of three hours. I think
what I found out, Arnie is I was I'm allergic
to really bad football games, and unfortunately, I felt like
that's what we got most of the day. And then
unfortunately Bobo and the crew out in l A, we're
stuck with one of those bad football games when the

(06:56):
Raiders just beat the snot out of the Denver Broncos
and no one got to see arguably one of the
best games, maybe not just in the day, but the year,
in the Patriots and the Cowboys. Let's start there. In
Week six, Jars Dolphins where No, just one thing on
that game. Did you see the end of the game
when the um Jaguars went for the quick four second

(07:17):
play to set up the winning field goal? I don't.
I don't know if you saw that. Sure, yeah, I
saw the highlights of it. Okay, So why did the
Dolphin guy touch him down? If you don't touch him down,
the clock runs that extra second, right, you know, time
over and they have to go ahead and go into overtime.
Why would you touch him down so they can call
time out? Um? Well, I mean eventually they could have

(07:39):
called time out anyway, So not until not at least
one second takes off. You understand that, don't you? Yeah?
But I mean how much wasn't there still three seconds
left on the clock? No? What was one second? One second? Well,
he could he could have. He was down, so they
would have been able to just call time out of it.
He was down, but nobody touched him. He could have
gotten up and run. He only quarterbacks gave them some.

(08:01):
You can give themselves up. Yes, he can give himself up.
But I would have taken at least another second before
the referee would He didn't have to touch him down.
The second would have went off and it would have
gone into overtime. The Dolphins just screwed everything up. The
whole thing made me sick. I didn't want to root
for them anymore. I'm not discussed it. I mean, I'm
so desperate to have played well. They always to have
that going for myself. But but the whole thing made

(08:21):
me sick. Well, maybe if you didn't go into the
season thinking they were gonna be a super Bowl team
and just thought, hey, we might be okay one in
five and they were in the they were making a
run at the playoffs last year, that's right, And they
were owing three to start the season last year. This
give up, don't give up, keep hoping. I'm excited about
my Cowboys, though, Let's get to that. Well trying to

(08:43):
go Yeah, that's where I was trying to go before
you get You got us fired by trying to talk
about a play with one second left in the Jaguars
Miami game from this morning. How are you doing? I apologize,
great finish back in fourth. I mean, if you're a
Patriots fan, I know that you're upset about the turnover.

(09:05):
If you're a Cowboys fan, you've got to be on
cloud nine with the way that oh my gosh, Digs
is playing as a corner, with the way that that
Dack's playing right now. I mean, that was just listen.
There was some weird things that happened in that game,
but it was just it was a good football game.
I went into it not a rooting interest, couldn't care
less about the Cowboys, couldn't care less about the Patriots.

(09:25):
But already I was a hell of a football game.
Thoroughly and enjoyed it. But the Cowboys did everything they
could to go ahead and get the Patriots the victory.
I mean, my goodness, the between the turnover, between the
penalties was just driving me crazy. I mean my and
it was over a hundred yards and penalties. They every
time something good happened for them. Penalty here, penalty there. Um.

(09:46):
I mean they were getting them by the dozen. I
couldn't even keep track with them anymore. You can't even
overcome something like that. Yet they were able to do it.
Um the ending the last two minutes and twenty seconds
when they got the pick of the score, they went
up by I didn't get the two boy conversion. And
then you go ahead and and see Mac Jones comes
back down and hits that long pass. How can you

(10:07):
let something like that, you know, get done behind you?
I mean, that's absolutely great crazy, you know that, that's insane. UM.
But then again, give the Cowboys credit. They get back
down there and they get the field goal. I didn't
think that one was going in. And just see how
that's kind of just sliced on in there. I thought.
I didn't think it was gonna make it. I didn't
think it was gonna be deep en off by the way.

(10:29):
They screwed up a couple of things. First of all,
it was fourth in one. Um. They called time out
with twenties seconds left instead of letting the clockdown go
down the one they could have gone. You know, they
figured it was first down. That was the problem. They
didn't know what doubt it was. The automatically thought it
was first down, so they called time out instead of
letting the clock get down the three seconds, and that

(10:49):
could have cost them. Also, are you just now figuring
out today, Arnie, that the NFL and most of its
coaches are horrendous at clock management? Are we just are
you from your complaining about the Dolphins Jaguars game this
morning to that I think clock management has been horrific
in the NFL for the most part over the last
few seasons. But I mean, but it's because they thought

(11:09):
they had the first down. I mean I was a
little confused. I thought, oh, they got the first down. UM,
now they're gonna go ahead and call time out. Twenty
seconds left, maybe they'll go for the touchdown. UM. But no,
it was fourth and one. So it did get a
little confusing. I will say that on their behalf. So
you mentioned the struggle with penalties. Think about this. The
Dallas Cowboys averaged seven yards per place six point nine

(11:32):
to be exact, five hundred and sixty seven total yards,
thirty two first downs, eighty two plays that they ran.
But they also on the day committed twelve penalties for
a hundred and fifteen yards, and despite almost a thirteen
minute time of possession advantage already, they turned it over twice.

(11:55):
That is crazy to think of those numbers at obviously
with the pital legs keeping him in the game quite
a bit, but they had the time of possession in
this game was seventeen to fifty one yard dig as
we just mentioned, five sixties seven to three thirty five.
I mean, if I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan bubble, I'm
on cloud nine. But I'm also sitting here perplexed, like,

(12:18):
how the hell did this game end up in overtime?
What's what's the record for the most penalties and still
winning the game. It's gotta be close to Oh, I'm
sure the Raiders hold that at some point. They probably do.
I mean it was it was insane the way it
was happening for the Cowboys. A good team um would
have put them away. I felt the Cowboys should have
been up a lot more as the game was going

(12:39):
along there. I was never afraid of the Patriot offense.
And you know what was Mac Jones like nine and
nine or seven for seven in the first half. They
would let him fill the ball deep downfield. Man. They
gotta opened it up for that guy sooner or later. Yeah.
He finished fifteen of twenty one for two fifteen and
two scores, but was sacked twice. Got the running game
going did in New England. But this isn't a statistics show.

(13:01):
This is a reaction show. So real quick, before we
grab a break in, Matt verder Am joins us, Arnie,
are you in yet on the Arizona Cardinals. And if not,
why not, let's go no coach, no best defensive player.
They go on the road against what we all think
is a pretty good Cleveland Browns team, just beat them up.

(13:23):
Oh Abs, I am all in on my Arizona Cardinals.
How could you not? I mean what they've as you mentioned,
going to on the road to the Browns. By the way,
the Browns kind of needed this victory. They were three
and two. They can't losing home, go down the five
hundred and start feeling good about themselves. This was a
game they really really needed Um but the Cardinals handed
to him. I gotta give them a lot of credit. Man,

(13:44):
They've done everything right. They've got a great defense that
nobody's ever talking about. Love what the Cardinals are doing
right now. Baker's hurt. I mean, I don't know what
the conversations are gonna be like in Cleveland over the
next few days. And I know the number were great
against the Chargers, but I mean it's and you're not

(14:04):
gonna find a bigger Baker apologist than I am. But
he's hurt, and he was not good today when he
was out there. So they've got a chance to get right.
They got the Broncos and next week they get a
ten day break before the Steelers. But they've got to
be well. And listen, I'm not trying to chalk up
any dubs now because if the Steelers win tonight, they're
right there with the Browns at three and three, so

(14:25):
pretty big, must win two games stretch coming up for Cleveland.
All right, when we come back, we are just getting started.
Dodgers worked out of their jam. We had to the
ninth inning, tied up at four. Sunday Night football Seattle
Pittsburgh tied up at seventeen. My goodness, it's all happening.

(14:46):
It's glorious and we've got it covered for you with

(15:52):
Plank on a Fox Football Sunday. Scary moment, right now,
what a day. We started talking a little bit cow
Boys Patriots. Probably not as close as it should have been,
to be honest, with the way the Cowboys were moving
the ball, but um, they come away with the win.
And that's the most important thing here, isn't it. Yeah,
no question. I thought, Dallas Troy, I'll play them of

(16:14):
the game and took Jos credits pick six. You think, okay,
he's in the full part here, and it turns around
and it throws a missile down field. It's really he
had not stressed the field at all this year. Hit
the big play to Born for the touchdown, come back. Uh.
And you know, ultimately, I think your Cowboys fan, you
go into the bioweek showing like our offenses as good

(16:35):
as anybody's. Trevon Diggs has been amazing. I do think
defensively they're awesome things you can expose with them. But
they're right there in the mix in the NFC. What
does that say about the New England Patriots. I mean,
here they come into two and four, they could have
lost them and been a one in five team. I
don't think they're letting them back. Jones strow the ball
downfield enough? What was he like seven and seven in
the first half? My goodness, open up that offense for

(16:58):
the kid. Well, they're gonna have to because offensively they're
just not dynamic. Not today. You know again, really they
did not have a lot of yards and in the
fourth quarter they kind of start to move it a
little bit of a touchdown. Um, they're gonna have to,
And I do part of it is he's a rookie,
but part of it is too. They just don't have

(17:19):
the weapon right and they spent a lot of money
in this Alfeeson, But let's me who's their best weapon,
who's the best receiving weapon on that team. I don't
know John Smith, you know. So that's where you run
a problem that they played the Jets this weekend. There
they'll they'll pound them at home, they'll get the three
and four, but they do get three wins and coming
into Jets place in Houston. So it is what it is.

(17:40):
I think New England is going to be a team
that hovers around that seven eight win marked the end
of the year. Hey, Matt, I'm not gonna ask you
about Jackson Mahomes, but I do want to ask you
about the Kansas City Chiefs. Um, here's the game that
goes in a halftime when we're thinking, oh my gosh,
the same old story. They're trailing thirteen to ten. Patrick
Mahomes had been pressured what was two times in the

(18:01):
first half, couple of turnovers, and then it was almost
like a switch flipped in the second half. What did
you see? And oh, by the way, at two, it
that we didn't know the status of of of maybe
if Tyreek Hill was going to be back in the
second half, but they flipped the switch. Did we see
them find their groove in the second half today? Maybe?
But it's impossible to say, look, their defense has been

(18:22):
sold by the game and a lot of people in
can't see from screaming for it worked. They only gave
up thirteen points. I mean, really, you think it's watched
and I did a Washton battle off as football team,
but Kansas City, even by Washington standards, held them down.
They did a nice job in the game. Um they
really covered much much better and they did Christens back
going back this week, so that will help quite a bit.

(18:43):
But offenially, they fully punted the ball ten times in
six games. Like it's not no one's stopping them except
for them. They have been their own worst enemy. I
think you saw it in the first half. The first
the first pick, the hall through, which has been a
story are you for him? This year, went right through
receiver's hands, caught it, get picked. The second picking through

(19:05):
is one of the worst receptions I've ever seen. I mean,
he's just he throws the bolog He's going down straight
in the get picked. That said, if you're the chief,
you're looking at that game film going, if we can
play like we played in the second half of this game,
we're literally never going to lose. But we've got to
be able to do that. They played the Titans this weekend.
That's gonna be a big test. I'm curious to see

(19:26):
how they play, especially on the defensive side against the
team with some real weapons. You know, I was gonna
say if there was one thing I could tell Patrick
Mahomes if I ever have a chance to get in
front of him, was come with the BS man with
the miracle play. I gotta throw it, followed down my
left hand off somebody's helmet, through five people. Enough of it.
You don't have to make plays like that anymore. I
know he did the first couple of years, and everybody

(19:47):
was in all, look what he's doing the opposite the
head and this is that he doesn't need to do that, Maddie,
he's trying to be too fancy. Well, I agree to
an extent. I mean that the past he got picked
off on with was ridiculous. So in that regard, yes,
but you know, if you want half game, he made
three or fourth throws that were ridiculous, and he made

(20:07):
a play on one. I think it's a third and
six to Kelsey where his running to his left, he
threw he drew like a shovel pass six yards down field.
Across his body and hit him in stride, and you
know it turned go would have been a field goal
into a touchdown. He had another play later in the game,
actually got called back on the holding penalty, but it
was he was scrambling a twenty yards viny the line
of scrimmed and throw it dark to hell for thirty yards.

(20:30):
So I think, Jim Mahomes, you play the way you play,
but yeah, there's a time and a place for it.
And that play where he drew a pick. He's always
been very good in his career about not putting the
ball on harm's way. That was a play where there
was no upside and he made some horrible drow lot
playing for him. It doesn't call u when they come back.

(20:50):
He played phenomenally in the second half and they went
by eighteen points. Matt Verdam is the national NFL reporter
for Fan Sided. You can follow him on Twitter at
murder Matt Verderim Okay, a couple more, We'll get you
out of here. Every week, Matt, Arnie and I dive
into after a week four, after week five, a week six.
Now we know this after week six, what do we

(21:13):
know about where the Raiders are? Because four and two.
Pretty good win today. I don't know how good Denver
is after watching that today, but in a week that
was just filled with turmoil and change, I thought that
was a pretty big win for them. Yeah. Well, first off,
I know how good Denver is. They stick, but I

(21:35):
agree with you. I actually just finished writing my stack
in box, Colm's gonna go up Monday morning over a
fan sided and I led with the race and wrote
about this is a team that I don't want to
say every right, but every every excuse to weekend, Denver
is a desperate tea. They've lost to a road or
at home. It's a hard place. And then, of course

(21:55):
obviously everything that went on this week with the Raiders
and with John Ruten, and they came out and played
inspired football. Now or the Raiders a championship level team,
No they're not. They're not that. But I thought it
showed a lot of moxie and a lot of grit.
They didn't even lay down. The next two weeks they
get the Eagles at home, and then they get the Giant,
so good get the six and two. Then they play

(22:17):
Kansas City, they play Cincinnati's schedule, it gets harder, but
I think look, if nothing else, if you look at
the a f C, who are the obvious playoff teams? Okay, look,
I know the Cheaser Trains three they're making the playoffs.
Yet them the Chargers, the Ravens, the Browns, the Bills,
and then somebody's got to in the South of Tennessee.
Maybe Indianapolis gets back in there. But you look for

(22:38):
that seven team, I mean, it's probably gonna come from either.
Like I said, nade Indie, the Raiders, the Bangals. So
I thought today, I know it's the Lions. That's a
trap game for the Hill. They get the Bangles a
lot of credit they didn't fall or they hammered Detroit,
But the Raiders are gonna be writ in that mix
right around nine ten wins and fighting for a bayoff spot.
You know that we were talking about Arizona earlier. I've mean,

(23:00):
my good, They've got to be the best team in football.
Not only did Murray not even have not great of
a game. Yeah he didn't put up the big yardage,
but he didn't have any turnovers at the four touchdowns,
but they did it defensively. Also, they go to Cleveland,
a team that we said, hey, they had their backs
against the wall a little bit. They're three and two
and they don't want to drop the five hundreds, especially
losing at home. And and Arizona kind of dominated them

(23:22):
in the first half and then the second half they
didn't give him any points. It was a great victory
by Arizona. No question. Cardinals are a really good team
with their top three in the league for sure. Right
I mean, I have them right there, Campa Buffalo right now.
I think it's at the NFL. There's probably about eight
teams in my thinggitimately to have him going the Super Bowl,

(23:44):
I mean, Arizona tell you the next train. And they
got the Claims and they went the cab, the ram
or in that mix. They beat up on the Browns.
That games a lot of things. Look, give Arizona credit,
no clicking, a lot of a lot of things. Your
hand a business to win the game. Great job. By
then they weren't going away. However, I will sit to

(24:05):
I think this is a little bit now becoming back Wayland.
Can't can't stop anybody who's any good. Mayfield I gave
hurt and I I give him credit for playing through
a babook. If you're gonna play thrown, then you've got
to be judge Donald, how you playing well? He's been
awful so well, I think you've got to give hours
on a ton of credit, no question. But also I

(24:27):
did in Cleveland, like go look at them and go
how how good is Cleveland? They have really had a
weird game, a great stacking of the box drops tomorrow
morning over at fanside, and Matt, you're the man, thanks
for hanging out with us on Sunday night, and noblem
take care. What's your buddy, Matt verder m All right,
everything's going down at one time, Sunday night football coming
down to the wire, bottom of the ninth Dodgers, Braves.

(24:51):
Let's get after. It's Steve to Sega. With everything going
on in the world of sports, what's up, Steve, Hello, gentlemen.
First things first, defensive n Seattle Darryl Taylor within a
parents serious injury was carted. It off. Looked like a
neck injury as he was tempting for the record. The
Steelers are driving, but after a penalty, they're not in
field goal range. It's just past midfield. With under two
minutes to go, Pittsburgh tied seventeen seventeen was Seattle. The

(25:14):
Steelers had led fourteen nothing at halftime. Alex Collins of
the Seahawks twenty carries a hundred one yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile,
it's two outs bottom of the ninth inning and Kenley
Jansen is coming on for the Dodgers. Out of the bullpen.
Braves and Dodgers tied four four. It is currently the
winning run at second and two outs, So with the

(25:36):
man coming up, as we go back to the top
of the order, Eddie Rosario already has three hits tonight
for the Braves, so they're taking Bruce dar graterole out.
Kenley Jansen is finishing up his warm up pitches, and
we'll get to it. With the Braves having one last night,
they're trying to take a two games to don lead
in the National League Championship Series. Corey Seeer with a
two run homer in the first inning for the Dodgers.

(25:56):
They've had precious little offense since then. The Braves, I
won't say it's been a bullpen game for them. They
had a starter, but he only went three innings. Brays
have used eight pitchers in the nine innings so far,
ten strikeouts, nine walks issued, by Atlanta, but the Dodgers
keep leaving men on. In fact, ten men left on
based total as the Dodgers with runners in scoring position

(26:18):
are one for ten. So the ninth inning comes down
to this. Kenley Jansen, the leadoff man in the order
with the winning run at second in a four four game. Wow,
He's right. Rory McElroy took the golf tournament in Las
Vegas by one stroke over Colin Morikawa, who shot sixty two. Today.
Kyle Larson was the NASCAR winner at Texas, is eighth

(26:39):
victory of the season. He'll be in the Championship four
and just one NHL game. Tonight, Ottawa beat Dallas three
to two. Dallas Cowboys have won five in a row.
They got an overtime win at New England thirty nine.
Arizona is six and oh after winning at Cleveland fourteen.
Kyler Murray four touchdown passes Las Vegas a winner at Denver,
which has lost three in a row thirty four twenty

(27:01):
four Raiders the final. Baltimore won it's fifth straight, completely
dominated the Chargers six. Green Bay won it's fifth straight.
Aaron Rodgers will tell you, of course, he owns the ball.
The final and the play in Pittsburgh next year. What
does he care? That was his last division The ran

(27:21):
five and one after winning at the Giants thirty eight
to eleven, and yes in London, Jacksonville beat Miami twenty
on a fifty three yard field goal on the final play.
Dolphins have lost five in a row. L s U
football coach at Orgeron will not return next season, but
he has a very hefty buyout, so he ain't complaining.
Let's leave it at that. Back to you, thanks Steve. Yeah,

(27:42):
he's getting five million dollars nimber and then he just lost. Well,
thank thanks for giving us a full play by play
of it. What happened? It was a shot up the
middle of the They had the shift on in the
uh second baseman tried to short hop, it went by
him and I went into the outfield. That's a game over,

(28:05):
Danny g Welcome to the nightmare that is Arnies feed
being ahead of everyone up. I think batting in order.
That guy's up every anything. I was literally soft. Rosario
base it up the middle. Braves winning five four. They're
up two games to Zip and at that same moment,
the Steelers just kicked a field goal. With a little

(28:25):
over a minute left in the game to take a
lead over Seattle. I was about to ask you, I'm
not even kidding before you're amazing play by play, Thank you.
I was about to ask you if if you would
just walk him in that situation, with as hot as
he's been, I know that what who would be up next?
Maybe Freeman? Uh so you probably don't want to deal
too terribly much with the lineup, but with as hot

(28:47):
as he's been, I wouldn't want to deal with Rosario
at all. I know that breaks came up, but he
was over four Freedman has struck out seven times or
as it was, yeah, seven times in a row or
something like that, or seven out of eated. That's why
we're Rosario had three hits coming in right? What the
hell are you going on here? Oh? They're going to

(29:07):
rule that an error? Yeah they Yeah, they ruled it
an error. Should have his fourth hit? How about that? Wow?
All right? So if they ruin it, but yeah, they
should have walked him. That's gonna be the question that
nobody's gonna be able to answer. It took the manager.
Why didn't you do that? Quick update on Sunday Night
Football after that go ahead field goal, they show a
picture a shot I guess I should say, of the

(29:30):
ambulance leaving Heinz Field. Where assuming that's with Darryl Taylin
it the lineman, excuse me, linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks.
As to Sager so eloquently put it, you know, not
a really easy way to talk about it, but suffered
what appeared to be a very serious neck injury. I
haven't been able to hear the updates on on NBC tonight,

(29:50):
but hey, minute thirty to go in the game, Geno
Smith seventy five yards to win it or get into
field goal range to see if we can get for
time and Sunday night football, what a while night dodge
fall in the NLCS. That series now two zip in
Atlanta and they're moving to l A. So that Game
three will be on Tuesday night. Game three Tomorrow night

(30:12):
between the Red Sox and the Astros of that series
and one apiece. I mean, I fully expect the Dodgers
to win on on Tuesday night, But Artie, you gotta
be kicking yourself with some of the managerial decisions tonight,
and then you get a great outing from sure Is
there for the most part, and you're not able. You
gotta clutch it from Chris Taylor, but you were never
really able to separate yourself despite having some scoring opportunities

(30:34):
in that game. You know what, And it's the little things. Also,
it's not when you have like first and second or
second and third. I mean they had a run around second,
they got them over the third, one out, and you
can't get a flyball when it was two and two.
They just haven't been doing the little things. You mentioned.
Runners in scoring position where they want a ten or
runners on um there's not typically, there's not the way

(30:54):
the Dodgers are are used to playing all year long.
So I hope they bounced back and win games me
otherwise this series is gonna be over. They did rule
Rosario's game winner a hit, so he finishes four for
five of the night. He had almost half of the
hits for the Braves to night four of their ten
hits didn't walk him. I understand the concerns with Freeman

(31:17):
and what he's capable of, but I don't pitch to
Rosario in that situation. And I think, listen again, not
trying to be hot takey here, not trying to be
knee jerk reaction on this, but is it fair to
ask wild card dramatic win over the Cardinals pushed to
the limit, had to play five games against the Giants

(31:38):
pushed to the limit. I mean, is there concerns now
that when you finally get to the NLCS, you know
you've had to play a five game series, you have
to play that extra game in the wild Card. You
fought until the end of the season. There wasn't a
coasting into the post season because you felt like you
were in a good spot right they were fighting for
the National League West up until the very last. Hey,

(31:59):
So I mean, I'm not saying fatigue, but do you worry,
Arnie that maybe there's not a lot of tread left
on that tire for them? I don't because there's so
deep in so many categories. I mean, my goodness, that
you're talking about went through eight, they're like one through twelve.
Pitching is like seven deep. I I wouldn't think that
that's a problem right now, And isn't like the Braves
haven't played there when sixty two plus the playoffs. Also,

(32:22):
remember this is only what a eight eight win Braves team,
So it's not even in the there not even the
same category as the Dodgers. Well, I agree, but we're
also in a postseason where the Braves in the Brewers Series,
you know, that only went five games and they didn't
have to worry about an extra playoff game at all.
So I agree the Braves aren't in the same season

(32:44):
long stratosphere of the Dodgers, but that season mark doesn't
matter right now. I'm legit worried that the Dodgers might
be out of gas right now. And again, I know,
very knee jerky, very hot taking because the game just
wrapped up, And yes, I understand the depth, but damn man,
they got it. They can't hit, I mean, and when
they do it's it's spotty. It's just frustrating right now

(33:08):
to see this team that had so many opportunities tonight
to get separation and it took up bloop what it
ended up being a double if thing from Chris Taylor
to to even put them in position to where they
had a lead later that game. You know, I'm not
bloom double wir Wards Turner, get the piano off your back.
I mean the ball road past the center fielder. Um, yeah,

(33:29):
the bases loaded. How come you didn't make it five
to two. Why weren't you able to score? You know,
I don't know, but it was very frustrating tonight Dodgers
lose to the Braves. We'll get your Twitter reaction to it.
Genius and I'm at playing show. We'll talk about it
with Todd firm and from somebody. Yeah, someone gotta tell
us why uh they didn't walk Razzario. I for the
life of me, I can't figure it out. I have

(33:51):
no idea. I like this, by the way, right away
from nature boy. Hey, look at the bright side, Dodger fans.
At least did Jansen only throw one pitch before he lost?
Now he'll be rested and ready for tomorrow. They need
them all right. Eighteen seconds left in Sunday night football, Seattle.
They're in field goal range. It would be a fifty
two yard or to try to tie the game. But
they're gonna run one more play, it looks like, without

(34:13):
any time out. So we'll keep you up today when
we come back. Stealers up twenty. What happened happened? See again,
this is this you already your head, So you need
to tell us they fumbled and they couldn't get out
of bounds, so they recovered it. They struggled. Now they're
gonna fight. Whether there's a second or not left on
the clock. I don't know if there's I don't know

(34:36):
if they spiked at the time down to get a chance.
I'm waiting to see what happened. And just yes, we've asked.
Arnie's like, hey, can you delay your feet so we're
all together. He doesn't know how to do it. All right,
when we come back, we'll see if the Seahawks are
gonna get a chance to try to tie or win
this game. After the Dodgers fall to the Braves at
lant up two zip in the NLCS, it's Arnie and
Plank on Fox Sports Radio, Oh over time in Sunday

(35:01):
Night Football, and I have no idea how they decided
to put three seconds off up. They screwed that up
big time. I mean, at the very least there's one
second left. He had killed the clock and you allow
them to set up for the game tying field. From
what I understand that they went back to three seconds
bos they went to review to see who was a catch,

(35:22):
and at that point there was three seconds left. So
what they do is that's why they hustled up and
spiked it again. My thing was, though he already has
spiked it the first time, how could you review it
and go back and review it after he's spike it.
But they say he didn't spike it. That's why they
went ahead and had the line up. Real question. Okay, okay,

(35:42):
that makes a lot of sense. So in other words,
I didn't get here Terry McAuley. So at three seconds left,
the play was whistled dead to try to determine whether
or not he had caught the football. So with three
seconds left, you have a review. Okay, now that makes sense.
So the officials had stopped the clock, and then that's
why Geno Smith and the Seahawks were able to get

(36:02):
their clock it him didn't nail up, but they would
have clocked it anyway, and they would have collected with
either one second left the first time around when they
hustled up because we didn't know there was a review,
they had actually collect it with the one second left.
But they say there might have been movement which would
have had a ten second runoff and the game would
have been over. So that's why Pittsburgh is really hot
right now, Well, did you did anyone from Seattle look

(36:25):
like they moved to you? I thought they were. I
didn't think so, so because I'm such a dork, I
was looking for that. I'm like, if they move, it's
game over. They move, it's game over. But they didn't.
And after the Dodgers lose on a walk off, dramatics
on Sunday Night Football, I'm not trying to tell you
this has been a pretty game or a good game,

(36:45):
but by God, already it's been entertaining down the stretch
ASID it's no right as it's been great. Well, it's
been fun to watch, no doubt about that. So Ben
Roethlisberger's look out his face when he fod out he
had to go back out there for overtime, was like,
are you kidding me? We had this game one unbelievable.
Can I be old man? Get off my porch real quick?

(37:06):
What is Russell Wilson doing jumping around? I mean he
literally whenever the ball was loose. Did you see him
jump out on the field in the final three that
that final spike which again now that we look back,
it was a dead ball because they were reviewing if
it was a catch. But he literally runs out on
the field and has a moment where he's like, oh,

(37:26):
I can't do that and goes running back on this. Yeah,
it's like you just like, hey, chill, all right, You're
you're gonna be back soon enough you get healthy, and
no he's like, I gotta be in the middle of this.
I love it, don't get me wrong, But yet he
literally almost committed a penalty that could have cost him

(37:47):
the game there at the end for running on the field. Anyway,
A fascinating night and Sunday Night Football, your tweets rolling
in at stinking genius one, I'm a plank show. Let's
hit a few of those for aff Bower number one,
will if we have a final by the time we
kick off our number two. But Sunday Night Football going
to overtime at laid back in a Z right. Ah. Yes.

(38:09):
The kind of football knowledge I tune in to consume
from this new and exciting show sweeping the country is
Alnie explaining how the Dolphins are headed to the Super
Bowl because they beat New England in Week one and
London losses to the Jaguars don't count in. I love
the way everybody knew that the Dolphins were gonna be
a horrible team this year, the worst team in the NFL. Right,

(38:31):
everybody knew that they were gonna be the worst team
in the NFL based on what they did last year.
Come on again, no one's saying they thought they were
gonna be this bad. You were just telling us they
were a super Bowl team. And I if you're a
playoff team, you're a super Bowl team. No you No,
you're not. No, you're not No, you're not period you Oh,

(38:55):
they had a shot at it, So Washington, the football
team last year was US super Bowl teams. But there
can be a gray area already. There can be a hey,
I think they're gonna be pretty good. Maybe they're gonna
end up making a run at the playoffs. Not Oh,
you're telling me they're gonna lose this week? Are they
gonna lose that game? They're going to the super Bowl?

(39:16):
Who's gonna stop to uh? I don't know some dude
for three weeks, some dude who was that from the
Bills that landed on him? That's what is happening. Um,
shame on the Steelers and defense to right tonight, writes JP.
Everyone and their brother knew the Seahawks were going to
run today. After Geno Smith had a typical Geno Smith

(39:39):
first half, they made Alex Collins look like Earl Campbell.
I think already Spanner could have had one hundred yards tonight.
Maybe maybe they have a bad look. And how does
Seattle start the overtime period running the football? They're just
gonna run the football right down their throats, so keep
them coming at the Genius one. I'm at Plank Show.

(40:01):
Everybody should be following us at Fox Sports Radio when
we come back after week six. I know this. We'll
take a trip through the locker room. Hey uh, the
Sager brought it up. And obviously I'm a big college
football guy. But a big story develops today with an
order on basically separating from the L. S U Tigers
though they're gonna finish the season. Joe Burrow was asked

(40:24):
about that. We'll bring it to you next hour. And
now you have to monster openings in college football in
both L. S U and USC a college football fanatics
dream where you have believable mega openings and you can
debate which job is better. We'll get into that, plus
a new number two in college football to talk about

(40:44):
all coming up next hour on Fox Sports Radio. Oh no, oh, no,
Seahawk fans. Just when it looked like Geno Smith was
gonna drive the felt listen, it was one player. Kay,
I'm not gonna get too carried away here. But T. J.
Watt does it again second week in a row, A

(41:06):
big late turnover by Gino Smith. I thought Devin Bush
was gonna start running the wrong way. First of all.
I think I could have done a better job than
Gino Smith holding on to that football. It was like
it was I'm gonna be shopping. Can tell you what
I all the bread's at. Oh, I'll three a if
you just take this back to my card. Oh, somebody
bumped into me, some old lady. Maybe fumble. I mean,

(41:28):
it's amazing the way he just coughed it up like
that is that is six one pounds of J. T.
Watt clubbing the football out of your hand. So I
don't think an old lady bumped into him and he
dropped the bread hardy. But Pittsburgh is gonna win this game. Um,

(41:49):
I mean, if you missed this field goal, they might
boo you out of Hines Field. Right. What is the
I wonder what I'm looking at? The win percentage? Which
I know you at it's ninety nine point to okay,
and they'll put that point two on there or something,
so if he does shank this, they'll be able to
go back and like boy, with three minutes to go
and overtime, Pittsburgh got a ninety nine point two chance

(42:13):
to win the game and they missed the field goal.
That's exactly what they're trying to do. Aren't he win
percentage is so dumb? Anyway? So stupid. We'll keep an
eye on this, all right. Uh. In the meantime, Dodgers Braves.
Big walk off win tonight for the Atlanta Braves. They're
up two games to none, and that best of seven series.
Dodgers got a regroup, now, aren'tie? And I think? I mean,

(42:35):
I listen, I get it. Freddie Freeman was on deck,
but as so, I just put it on Twitter. Former
twin that was that was to put a former twin,
Eddie Rosario with three hits, and they decided to pitch
to him and he hits a laser back up the
middle that was ruled to hit. So it's a walk

(42:56):
off for the Braves and they're up two games to none.
Panic time of the Dodger fans. Yet, as the Steelers
walking off winning tonight to twenty in overtime, should l
A Dodger fans be freaking out like I am right now? Yeah,
they should be freaking out. Yes, I know they get
to go home, but still, this was a team there
better than that. And not only that, it's not like
the Bravest the dominant. You had a FOURD to lead.
You let the bravest fight back in and and get

(43:18):
right back in it. Um, you probably could have stolen
game number one. Also, you should have at least come
away from this with a with a one game to
uh split or the two games split. You didn't do it.
Now your backs against the wall. You can't afford to
lose any at home uh and still expect to win this.
This is gonna be amazing playoff series. I hope they
bounced back, um, I really do. Pitching staff seems to

(43:39):
be set up pretty well going forward for l A.
But we'll see. We'll see how they can bounce back
in Game three tomorrow night. If you want to hit
on that, hit us up on Twitter at Stinking Genius one.
I'm at Plank Show. Did you get things fixed? Was
your phone out of commission this week. I was very disappointed.
I texted you. Usually, um, you text me, and I'm
the one that gets in trouble for not getting I

(44:01):
texted you like twice, never heard back. I was worry
I didn't get your text. My phone works fine. For
the first time in a decade, I didn't get your text.
The funny thing about it is Arnie has all the
new advancements in technology, and I'm the one complaining. And
I have an iPhone six, so I might be the
problem here, not you, But I had I had brought
up in a lot of the conversations that I was

(44:23):
sending you the groom talk. Now this is very much
old news. But Johnny be Good just hit us up
on Twitter and asked, did you guys discussed Gruden yet? Well?
To me, um, the Raiders are moving on, right, They've
got to move on with their season. I think for
guys like you know you and I, they get to

(44:43):
do this Bobo, Danny bo steven Sager. It becomes a
talking point now, not not about should John Gruen have
kept this job? Right? I mean, he's he's done. He
there is no way and know how it knows way
shape or form that he deserved to keep his job.
The question is now, Alreadie, are you buying what the
NFL is selling that that was the only hate speech

(45:05):
that they found in the six hundred thousand plus emails,
and then what Florio is reporting. Why did they sit
on it for so long? Not the Raiders, the NFL
apparently had this since June. Why did they wait so long?
So you say that, and some people might construe it as, oh,
are you defending him? No, no, no, not not at all.
It just seems odd the timing of this and the

(45:27):
specific nature of I mean, just Gruden. He's the only
one that said anything of this nature. So that's in
a lot of ways, I'm like, okay, good, that makes
me feel a little bit better. But in the same
vein already come on. I mean, we're to believe that
the NFL sat on this and waited until now why,
I don't know. I don't know why they sat on it.
It is amazing that they were able to do it.

(45:49):
And they also said they're not going to release the
other emails. I would love to see what's on the
other emails. And you're not gonna convince me that Gruden
is like the only rogue guy that has this type
of feelings. Uh, maybe that's why they don't want to
release the other emails. Maybe it's gonna open up a
whole can because a lot of owners or a lot
of other general managers maybe feel the same way, and
they've got the emails to that also, and they just

(46:10):
don't want to go ahead and link that out. Um,
the whole thing really just thinks I'm surprised that the
Raiders were able to move on so easy from John Gruden. Yeah,
there was a little bit of backlash for like a day. Uh,
they look good today. Uh. Davis looked like, um, you know,
he had no problem. He was down there and I'm

(46:33):
talking and and you know, talking with the players. It
seemed like it was not that big of a deal
that their leader was gone and they have to move
on from him. You know what I'm saying. It was.
It wasn't like he was gone for like one game
with COVID or something. He was done. So they seemed
like they did not They had a pretty easy transition
without him. I think, you know, it's funny because and

(46:54):
that's part of the reason why I'm still mad at you.
Ignore I think that you blocked my number. I needed
you this week. I needed your take because I will
lie to you. Whenever I saw that they had named
rich Posaccia as the head coach, I was a little
bit miffed because in Gus Bradley, you had a guy
with head coaching experience, right, Greg Olsen has been kind
of Gruin's right hand man. But it made sense, right

(47:17):
because you're able to keep Olsen as your offensive guy
to be the head coach of the offense. You've got
Gus Bradley to be the head coach of the defense,
and then you give Pisaccia, who has had a hand
in everything, as the special team's guy. Um, But go
to my point when I've been trying to tell you
all along, it doesn't make an difference who your coordinators
or your coach are. You'll take him from anywhere and
they'll still do a pretty good job. That Cardinals did

(47:40):
the same thing. No, that is absolutely possibly. I got
proof that I got to and oh today I'm doing
with my my uh opinions on that one, Parney. It
takes a good coordinator to be able to step up
in that situation. It's not like they went and grabbed
a Madden player and said, all right, bro, your call.

(48:00):
The offense today did absolutely positively to do the one
where you scoring eighty four against your buddy that fourth
down except of all verts, all right, throw it up
in the air button when you hit the twenty yard
line and you'll get past interferes. But I bring all
that up not to to diss on coordinators, but to
say I think part of the reason why it went

(48:22):
so smooth for the Raiders is they got the right
guy as their You know, now, I'm not here to
tell you that rich Pisaci is gonna be their head coach.
I'm not here to tell you that they're even gonna
win ten games this year. But for one day, in
a day when they could have easily tanked, they looked
like a really good football It's so funny. That's the
way you look at it. You're like, well, they got
the right person in charge to go ahead and lead

(48:44):
him in for this one game. I kind of look
at it the other way, that maybe Gruden was the
detriment to this team, and that maybe he was doing
things the wrong way and he was holding them back.
No matter how much of a football genius he is,
but again small sampling size on the other way. Okay,
I'll listen. This is one of those times when I'm
I'll jump on board with you on that one. I
don't care, but I will add. I went back and

(49:08):
I was thinking a lot about last Sunday against the Bears,
and we talked about this last Sunday night, and I said,
I felt like I saw a team that had a
handful of key contributors that had quit right there, Like,
I'm not listening to this, dude. Darren Waller had two
or three drops. I mean, Brian Edwards had the worst
to drop maybe in the history of the National Football

(49:29):
League when he was running wide open and batted the
ball down against the Bears. What happened Today? They're making plays,
they're not chopping the football, so aren't there There might
be something to that? That is, once the initial emails
came out, I think Gruden had lost a portion of
that locker room. I really do. He never coaches again, right,
I mean, he was out of coaching for so long

(49:49):
it took him. Um uh, you know Davis, Steven Davis
just going off from a boatload of money to come
out of retirement, and and and coach with a tenure contract.
I don't think he's ever gonna coach again. And what
about a network? Is a network going to bring him
back and and talk football ors he can't even Is
he hirable right now? That's a great question. He's very

(50:12):
unhirable in my opinion right now. I think that you know,
he's destined to either be a podcaster or doing his
own thing. But I mean, he's also made a lot
of money. I mean, what more does he have to do? Right?
I mean, I get it that not everyone imagines a
life where you just sit on the beach and sit

(50:33):
my ties, But this is this is a dude to
that you know, probably has made and upwards of what
thirty mill throughout his time. He's not gonna get back
on TV. Every time he does something, it's gonna be
viewed with the controversial lens, and understandably so. But yeah,
I don't think he's got a future in media at all.
Maybe maybe say he made thirty mill. I'm just saying

(50:57):
that's what his net worth. Whenever I just googled his
net worth real quick and that's what they said. I
thought I was gonna say, like a hundred mill. Well,
I must have been way off. I mean, it doesn't
even made a hell of a lot more money than that.
Maybe he has had some bad investments, and I will
tell you that celebrity net worth hasn't always been the
right way to go whenever it comes to the actual

(51:19):
amount of money that the guys were. But I get
and I think that the thing here is now Gruen's
future probably not existent, Raiders future interesting promising. They've got
the Eagles next week and buy and then the Giants.
They could easily easily be a six and two football team. Heck,
I mean if they catch two persons, that could be

(51:39):
a one lost team right now after blowing the game
against the Bears last week. But I digress. The other
part of this now becomes Arnie and I. It's very rare.
And I say this knowing that it has not a
lot to do with Week six in the NFL. And
we'll hit on at this opening segment and then we'll
move on. But it's very rare that Mike Floor starts

(52:00):
reporting something and I'm like, damn, that's a good point.
And whenever that happens, over and I love pro football talk,
but when that happens, you're like, I probably need to
pay a little bit more attention to this. And I'm
telling you, Arnie, the fact that the league had these
emails since June, and and the fact that they're trying
to go with this AP report that all the six
hundred thousand emails, Jon Gruden's the only one that used

(52:23):
the misogynistic and hate language that he did. I'm sorry.
I questioned the timing of it. I question that there
is only Gruten And now they're like, well, well, we'll
only investigate Bruce Allen if he comes back into the league.
He was an employee of the Washington football team when
this all happened. He was saying this about people that

(52:44):
he worked around. Why are they And I know that, oh,
they find up thirty five mill and they suspended Daniel
Snyder for a little bit. I don't care. There should
be more here, And I'm telling you what, I think
there is still a lot of fire to this smoke
right now, and I don't know what the NFL is
trying to hide. Absolutely. What about the pictures they sent
out again? What about all that stuff? We're not even

(53:05):
paying attention to that. By the way, who's gonna be
the new coach of the Raiders when it's all said
and done, Rich Bessaccia, after he finishes the year fifteen
and two and the Raiders go to the world the
Super Bowl. But listen, I can I start my own
rumors or no? When would we do that? There's no
rules on rumor mongering. Aren't you go whichever way you wan?
Inside swords and tell me though that Eric B. Enemy
is going to be considered Eric the enemy should be considered, right,

(53:27):
Eric B. Enemy? By the way, every single job and
every single job list that's out there for the Raiders
right now, one other quick question on this and we'll
move on. Who linked them? Who leaked those emails? I mean,
was there legit um investigative journalism that's going on here?
And we high five that the New York Times, in

(53:49):
the Wall Street Journal, in the sd A P. I
don't know, uh not hate I'm not hating on you guys,
but it seems kind of odd that you would only
get John Gruden's stuff. Wasn't the Raiders when they got this?
It's but I kind of think they would lead it
to their beat reporters as opposed to the Wall Street Journal.
Was it the NFL? Was it a a jilted employee

(54:10):
like we're and why did these get out is kind
of what's interesting to me. My my two guests would
have been either a came out of the Commissioner's office.
I'm not gonna say the commissioner himself, but came out
of the Commissioner's office, that's how it was leaked. Or
be maybe with some other owner. Some have said maybe
Jerry Richardson, which I found to be very very fascinating.

(54:33):
All right, listen, um, I'm not gonna bog you guys
down with gruten talk anymore than we already have. We
have week six to recap, and when we come back,
we'll talk to Todd for him. And as we had
to Vegas first, already In Plank brought to you by
discovered who matches all the cash back you are on
your credit card at the end of your first year.
It's amazing because Discovers accepted places in the US that

(54:54):
take credit cards. Learn more at Discover dot com, Slash
Yes One, Nielson Report Limited, Shan Supply. We're headed to
Vegas next with already In Plank on a Fox Football
Sunday with Arnie span Your on Chris Plank already in

(55:20):
Plank on a Fox Football Sunday, Bobo running the show
to Sagre on updates. Not only not only is Bo
Benson and tonight, but Danny g as well. Tons of
coverage here on Fox Sports Radio. And let's let's add
to Vegas, shall we. Todd Ferman is standing by at
the board of podcast. You see him on out kick Wow,

(55:42):
Um Todd. First of all, let's talk baseball before we
get into the NFL. Where should the panic meter be
right now? For Dodger fans. You know they say you
don't ever really see a series start until the team
gives up home field advantage. And I know baseball is
a little bit different than the NHL or the NBA,
but here we are. You have one you're supposed aces
waiting in the wings against a veteran army and Charlie Morton.

(56:04):
We'll see if the Dodgers can make the series to
one and start to shift some of the pressure back
on the Braves. But you have seen the Braves go
from about a plus one eighty underdog coming in to
now a minus a dollar sixty favorite. Still give the
nod to the Dodgers as far as pitching is concerned.
You just wonder if they can manufacture enough runs. You
know that was I was just about to ask any
value in the Dodgers taking them to come back to
win the series. What did you say? You get plus

(56:26):
plus one on the Dodgers? Yeah, plus one five. I
think if you believe in the Dodgers before the series,
this is a slightly more advantageous position, but you do
have to work an uphill battle. I think if you
believe in Walker Dealer in game three, then maybe you
dabble on the Dodgers a little bit to take that price,
because you assume that if l A Is able to
cut it to two one, you're talking about it much
closer to a pick. I'm going into game four. No

(56:47):
I need like three to one or something like that.
He ain't getting three to one. So I mean, that's nice,
that's what your buy prices, but you're not gonna find
it anywhere in the market on a Storney m On
the other side of things, quickly, are we seeing a
shift with the Red Sox winning a road game on Saturday? Yeah,
that series of price has changed a little bit, not

(57:07):
nearly as dramatic. It's gone from about the Astros minus
a dollar forty they're about to pick them. And when
you look at the game, three stars josere cuedis uh
slated to oppose Eduardo Rodriguez. You're talking about this number
minus a dollar fifteen total has been bet up a
touch from nine shaded to the under out to nine
and a half. Todd, I got to assume that the

(57:28):
Joes did pretty well. I mean, you know, people probably
bet the regular guys, probably bet the Packers. The Bengals
were an easy victory, the Cults, the Rams was an
easy day that the sports book gets clover today or
what uh they definitely did. I'm curious to see what
the carnage looks like. All seven favorites in that one
o'clock Eastern time slot ended up covering. And then when

(57:49):
you look at the afternoon games, the result the books
really needed was getting the New England Patriots across the
finish line. So with that touchdown and overtime, that of
course dealt them a curveball. And when when you look
at two of the underdogs that got there, the Raiders
Broncos game wasn't really a big decision by all accounts.
You have an undefeated team catching points recreational better see
that they go. I can't believe arizonas a two and

(58:10):
a half three point dog. They gravitate that way as well,
So curious to see what the carnage looks like. And
some books are trying to be a little bit proactive
already moving tomorrow's game out to the key number of six.
Wouldn't be shocked at all if that number continue to climb. Todd,
you uh, you believe in Arizona right now, I'm still skeptical.
I can't take anything away from what they've been able
to accomplish and clearly won't get tested at least on

(58:32):
paper next week. But you go through the first couple
of series. Kevin Stefanski alects to go for it on
fourth and three because that you live by the sword,
you die by the sword. So I'm not going to
question that. But a number of what I thought were
tiki tach files, so to speak. With flags coming in
that's solved Cleveland's opening drive. You didn't see the Arizona
Cardinals have any trouble converting a third and twenty one

(58:55):
or a third and goal from the fifteen. So I'm
not gonna take anything away from them they want without
their coaches. But I still don't think this team should
be considered, you know, amongst the front runners to win
the Lombardi Trophy, Todd, As you mentioned, the Browns are
three and three, Kansas City three and three. Kansas City
one of the favorites are if the favorite to go
to the Super Bowl. So can I get value with
the Chiefs? Could I get some you know, better odds?

(59:17):
Now that they're three and three and it's everything with
Cleveland or no with Kansas City, the number hasn't drifted
that far five and a half to one to start
the season. You're looking at about seven and a half
to one for them to win the Super Bowl. And
the thing for Kansas City, suddenly they're only a game
back within the game and a half back and within
the division. Now sitting at three and three, we know
the Super Bowls typically aren't one in September and October.

(59:38):
So if the Chiefs can rectify what's gone wrong defensively
and stop imploding offensively, they're going to be just fine.
I do think Baltimore kind of popped the balloon a
little bit and show that the Chargers are slightly more
vulnerable than people were led to believe putting justin Herbert
in third, medium and intermediate situations where you just can't
rely on going six on third down. And you saw
the Chargers defense slightly expo against the dynamic Raven's offense,

(01:00:02):
todd how much and and a good win today by
the Raiders. I think more of it had to do
with the Broncos just being terrible. But how much did
any numbers change or shift at all with Gruden resigning
and moving on for the long term play with the Raiders.
Did you see much movement? You saw an appetite for
for professional betters to get behind Denver today. This price

(01:00:23):
went from three and a half out to five. And
you're exactly right, Chris. I think the Raiders were good.
They were much more buttoned up in this spot than
what we saw Sunday against the Chicago Bears. But I
think a big portion of it as well was the
Denver Broncos, who were extremely generous giving the football up,
couldn't get off the field and third and longs. But
suddenly we're talking now about a Raiders team at four
and two. Let's see what they have in the tank

(01:00:43):
with a new head coach, and maybe a new lease
on life if they want to try and rally around
a cause, because if you believe what the players have
been saying in the wake of John Gruden's firing, they
feel he was done a huge injustice and they almost
want to go out there and win on his behalf.
You know, you probably know where Gruon's gonna end up
more than than the rest of us, because I think
he's hirable. Uh, there's only one place that hires nible,

(01:01:04):
that's Vegas. You can always you could always go out
to Vegas and work with the casinos and and stuff
like that. I don't know what happens to John Gruden.
I think it'll be a little bit for him to
kind of repair his image before some of this stuff subsides. Obviously,
he was made an example of the ongoing probe of
the Washington football team, and you hate that someone's collateral damage.
I don't think he's going to say he was innocent

(01:01:25):
and anything when you look at some of the emails
and the language that was used there. But you figure
in a couple of years, if you wanted to get
back into coaching, somebody would take a shot. And I
have to imagine if he wanted to work for a
college program and love Las Vegas that given the trajectory
UNLV's going, it wouldn't be the worst higher in the
world for them to bring John Gruden in, should he
want to get in the Mountain West coaching. I just
don't think that's in the cards, knowing they can't pay

(01:01:46):
him nearly the same amount as what Mark Davis was
pulling up for that ten year deal. Since you brought
up college football, tell me, tell me you saw the
Heisman Trophy winner in Norman on Saturday Night, Todd, tell
me you suddenly leave and the Sooners in Caleb Williams.
I like Caleb Williams I was calling from earlier in
the year when Spencer Raller was really struggling. You read

(01:02:07):
the scouting reports and the level of optimism coming out
of camp. I think this makes that offense that much
more dynamic. Having a physically imposing ground presence at the
quarterback position, which we've seen before with Kyler Murray, Jalen
Hurt and even Baker Mayfield to some extent. When you
look at Oklahoma's upcoming schedule, they'll have their work cut
out for him, but they control their own destiny within
the league. I mean, Iowa State already has been saddled

(01:02:29):
with two losses. You have a tiebreaker against Texas. So
even if you were to lose against you know, Iowa
State and potentially in bedlam to Oklahoma State, they're still
going to have a chance to get to Dallas and
play for the conference championship. Now they're gonna have to
go and defeated if they want to buy for a
national title, and will be very interesting. But I still
believe as it stands right now, the Heisman Trophy winner
doesn't run through Norman the path of the Heismanster Oxford,

(01:02:51):
Mississippi Todd. Now that my Dolphins and my Giants and
my Wildcats are a total of two and sixteen, I've
got to move on to basketball. Um, what kind of
odds can I get on? My We are the New
York Knicks, My friend, I'm feeling good this year. You
know already. At least the silver lining is that you know,
two of those three teams actually got on the scoreboard

(01:03:11):
this weekend, So it wasn't a complete bath for your
trio of football teams. You rattled off, Nick, You tell
me what number you want and I'll see what I
can try and pony up. When you look around the
betting market, I've seen prices and at forty to one range,
clearly an uphill battle for them, even within the Eastern Conference.
I know they finished last year strong. I just don't
think they have the pieces to do what it takes

(01:03:33):
and win the Larry O Brian Trolophy and my Lakers.
What kind of odds do I get on my Lakers?
This don't Yeah, your Lakers, you really can't get a
whole heck of a lot. I've seen them in that
five to two, three to one range that seems to
be a little bit more optimistic in terms of them
winning a title. But yes, you're not getting a whole
lot of r o I in terms of an investment
of the Lakers ans right now, where's the value? I

(01:03:53):
guess there's got to be value with Golden State then right,
you probably get good ones. Yeah, I mean if you
believe in Golden State, you know, getting Clay Thompson back
in the fold is a team that you can find
in that ten to twelve to one range. I think
the Son the Sons could be a team, uh that
you're not gonna get value that you may want to
bet against, and then when you look elsewhere in the
packing order, it's trying to figure out who in the
Eastern Conference can be formidable. Maybe you believe in the

(01:04:15):
Philadelphia seventies, but I think it's a Milwaukee Bucks, Los
Angeles Lakers crash course for a potential NBA championship. Great
stuff is always Todd. Check out the Bet the Board
podcast and we'll talk to again next Sunday. Always a pleasure.
Gent have a great week. You're trying to get us
fired with all this NBA talk. Hardy Tuesday. You know that? Right?

(01:04:37):
Two games? What are you doing? What? Come on? It's
NFL season. Let's go Not for me? My football is done?
So are we all just supposed to move on and
talk about the now. I gotta find another team the
root for Like it's either between Arizona or the Cowboys
or the Rams, the Raiders, or the Buccaneers. I like it. Yeah,

(01:04:59):
those are good. Be my new teams. Go jump on
that Buccaneers band wagon. I want to see them go
to You know what, all right, Steve the Sager comes
rolling in and gets caught up on everything going on
in the world of sports. What's up? Steve. That is
how I'll know where you're going with it. First things first,
the update on the Seahawks Terrell Taylor. They did mention
on the NBC broadcast Seahawks pr confirming to them that

(01:05:20):
he is moving all of this extremities as he was
carted off the defensive end seemed to have suffered a
serious injury late in regulation of this Seahawks Steelers game.
It wound up at Pittsburgh overtime win against Seattle. Quarterback
Gino Smith fumbled in the ot, stripped by t J. Watt,
and Smith was sacked five times in this game. Game

(01:05:42):
winning field goal for Chris Boswell in a stadium that's
not known for a long field goals. He not only
was three for three on them, he hit a fifty
two yard or late in regulation for a brief lead.
Naja Harris, after a very slow start on the ground,
wound up with eighty one yards rushing and a touchdown
catch Pittsburgh three and three, Seattle two and four. This season,

(01:06:03):
Dallas won its fifth straight game and overtime win at
New England thirty twenty nine. The Cowboys had eighty two
plays running this game, five hundred sixty seven yards Dallas
with thirty two first downs in this victory, and Trevon
Digs did it again pick six with about two and
a half minutes left. Greg Zeroline the tying forty nine
yard field goal with twenty seconds to go, overtime game

(01:06:24):
winning touchdown Dak Prescott to Cede Lamb Arizona six and oh.
After the thirty seven fourteen win at Cleveland, Baker Mayfield
three turnovers in the loss, re injured his shoulder. He
thinks he can play through it. Donovan People's Jones of
the Browns four catches a hundred one yards, two scores.
The bad news not Mayfield's left shoulder. It's running back
Kareem Hunt left with a calf injury. Running Back Nick

(01:06:46):
Chubb was already out today with a calf injury. Cleveland
plays Thursday, hosting Denver. Denver's lost three in a row.
They lost it home to Las Vegas thirty four twenty four.
Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater with four turnovers. He was sacked
five times, three by Max Crosby. The Raiders are four
and two, tied for first in the division with the Chargers,
who were blown away at Baltimore today. Thirty four six

(01:07:08):
Ravens the final. Baltimore has won five games in a row.
Green Bay won its fifth straighten at Chicago, and the
Rams are five and one after winning at the Giants
thirty eight to eleven. L s U football coach at
Orizron will not return next season. Georgia and Cincinnati are
one two in the New AP poll. In the National
League Championship Series, Game two in walk off fashion to

(01:07:31):
the Atlanta Braves, just like they won Game one last
night there In fact, tonight two runs in the eighth
and one in the ninth to take it, and the
Atlanta Braves need two more victories for their first World
Series appearance since In baseball history, a team going up
two games to none and the best of seven series
in the postseason usually wins well over eight percent of

(01:07:52):
the time. One year ago, at a neutral site, Atlanta
led the NLCS against the Dodgers to games to none,
and in fact led three games to one until Mookie
BET's defense took over those last three games and the
Dodgers won in seven and went on to win the
World Series. Not over yet, but too heartbreaking losses for
the defending champs. Game three will be a day game

(01:08:14):
in l A Tuesday, five pm Eastern time, Walker Bueller
against Charlie Morton five Eastern, five Eastern. They gotta fit
in two games because the ALCS was off today, tied
at a game of piece Houston's at Boston for the
next three days, starting Monday night. Game three on FS
one Monday, eight pm Eastern. One other note about the

(01:08:35):
Dodgers their offense, which has had lulls throughout the regular season.
As good a line up and as good a team
as it is, it's stunning how like we've seen this weekend,
how often this can happen. Going into tonight, the Dodger
offense had been held to three runs, are fewer in
most every playoff games so far, five out of the seven,
and then only two runs the first six innings tonight until,

(01:08:56):
as Chris Blank mentioned, what was ruled a double for
Taylor to bring in a couple of runs in the lead.
But the Dodgers in eight postseason games so far, four
of the eight have been tied going to the ninth inning.
This is just crazy. They will host Game three once
again on Tuesday, off day in the NL tomorrow. Kyle Larson,

(01:09:16):
the NASCAR winner at Texas, his eighth victory of the season.
Joey Legano finished thirtieth today after engine failure. The three
round of eight playoff races started today. The finale is
at Phoenix November the seventh, and Yes, the NBA regular
season starts Tuesday with two games Brooklyn and Milwaukee, then
Golden State at the Lakers. That will be eleven NBA
games on Wednesday night. And for those who didn't know,

(01:09:39):
the Chicago Sky won the w NBA Finals today three
games to one over Phoenix. Once again, very very great scheduling.
Women's finally of your finals on an NFL Sunday. Did
you see the story earlier this week that the women's
soccer league that is getting essentially subsidized, so it had

(01:10:00):
this they were going to have their final at nine
in the morning because they were holding it on the
West Coast, and the women said, are you kidding me? Like,
can we move it to another time zone? We'll still
play a day game, but nine am? Are you nuts? Okay?
So that's how things are, thank you. Why don't they
put it on Sunday night, right? Put it up against
Sunday night football? Yeah? Exactly. Nobody watches Sunday Night Football exactly,

(01:10:23):
by the way, was on the eleven o'clock on which
one the NBA Finals used to be on tape the
light at the eleven o'clock at night. So I'll get what,
oh yeah, forty years ago. Sure you come back to
this before magic and bird took things over. I will
say on the TV magic of not just Sunday Night Football,
but the NFL in general. Chris, you mentioned it earlier.

(01:10:43):
This was no gem of a game, and they were
a combined fifteen punts in this game, and with the
teflon magic of the NFL, nobody will remember that it
was thrilling late regulation, we went to overtime, Steelers win
and ot hey, good stuff. Steve one here from Paul
on that Arnie on Twitter where you can hit this
up at stinking genius one at Plank Show. All right,

(01:11:05):
pretty shit? Next year the NFL outlaws trying to punch
at the ball. Did you see at throwing a flurry
of punches at alex College. He looked like Tyson Fury
out there. But he got a penalty for that, did
he not? I I didn't have to sound up, but
I thought he got a penalty for that. I don't
think you can do that. I don't. I don't know
if he got a penalty or not, but I think

(01:11:27):
if you take away trying to punch at the football,
you're taking away, gosh, kind of a core philosophy of defense.
Forgot the way he was doing it, it was just
it was crazy. It was like he was like in
the boxing ring and he thought he was sparring or
something like that. He was going on little nuts. You know.
He is a crazy person though too. There's a lot
of stuff here on Twitter about Gruden. I don't want

(01:11:48):
to get into this, but I'll read one. Roger writes,
Gruden is the one that bad mouth the commissioner over
and over. Seems pretty obvious they're protecting every one else,
but Gruden had to go, uh and then what about
everybody else that bad bounced the commissioner? First of all,
was it a Jerry Jones that was against There was

(01:12:10):
somebody else so anti commissioner? It wasn't even funny. So, um,
I think it was Jerry Jones what it was? You're right, yeah,
he was kind of against his his I say, reelection,
but then deciding to extend him at every So you're
gonna tell me there was no uh, you know emails
and the you know showing Jerry Jones doing bad stuff

(01:12:31):
come out. I entered, there's tons of stuff on that
someone that sin us The l a Times article from
earlier this week where the Los Angeles Times dug and
found out that the the emails that Gruden had, like
we've learned throughout the day, were originally part of a
June court filing by Dan Snyder. So someone who could
have been involved in maybe say the lawsuit or the discovery,

(01:12:56):
could have leaked the emails maybe to kind of saved
Danson tighter in this right, It's like, look, look, it's
not Dan Snyder doing bad things. It was Jon Gruden
and Bruce Allen saying all these dirty words, if you will.
So there's a lot of different angles to this. That's
why we said at the top of the hour, I
feel like this story is just getting started, and it's

(01:13:17):
gonna be fascinating to see when and if Roger Goodell
says that anything. Right. Everyone has kind of been question
Mark Davis for not saying anything, but I think we
found out why he's not. He doesn't have anything positive
to say about the NFL. Right now, and he doesn't
want to put himself in kind of a bad situation,
so he stayed quiet. Let his team do their thing,
talk to the team, and now let's is Roger Goodell

(01:13:39):
gonna address anything on this? By the way, I, I
guess I probably should know the answer to this. But
what about the rest of the years left on his contract?
He doesn't get another dime he walked away from everything?
Is or is he getting paid under the table? How's
this working? And I talked to Dan Lust at Sports
Law lust and the other day and he said there's
probably some sort of agreement that if Roon resigns right

(01:14:01):
that they'll they'll be a payment, right, you know, he'll
he'll get paid a certain amount and then he's done.
And I don't know if that will ever be public,
but yeah, when he like at oh, he's gonna be
getting a lot of money when he leaves. Did you
see the blueprint the layout of well? Oh, my, I'll
get to it because I've got a little Joe almost
said Joe Betterer Joe Burrow to kick off the final

(01:14:21):
hour here on Fox Sports Radio, talking about at OS.
You're on, moving on a couple of other quick tweets
and then we'll get a break into Segre. We'll get
a scot up on everything. Brendon writes. At least the
Raiders crushed at Denver today. As for Gruden, come on, guys,
he's done coaching forever since he's not fit to be
a leader. However, after some time elapses, I could see
him returning to TV if people would still be upset

(01:14:43):
over the emails their issue, not his, well, like, I
can see him returning to TV also, but it's gonna
take a couple of years. Um, you know, you know
what the way really, did we ever see the emails?
Doll like where they're showing it to us on TV
and highlighting it and yellow and stuff like that, Because
that's gonna make it worse. You understand that, oh of course,

(01:15:06):
of course, because then you'll continue to draw in more
of the non sports side that will be in on
this story, even more than they're not right now, and
to get us back to actual football on the field,
im it rights, Guys. I know the Bengals played the Lions,
but I have to wonder if they're actually a decent team.
They've looked good the past few weeks. Burrow has a

(01:15:26):
chance to be their foundation and maybe maybe they found
their connection. I'm all in. I know it was just
the Lions, but they're four and two right now the
Cincinnati and I've I've bought into it. I like Joe
Burrow a lot too. Yeah, Burrow looks good. Jamaar Chase
after a tough preseason, looks good. Joe Mixing. They ran

(01:15:49):
the ball for a hundred forty two yards today. Now
that doesn't sound like a lot, but they were controlling
the clock and and moving the sticks, and there four
and two right now. Next week they go to Baltimore,
so that'll be a fascinating game in that early window.
All right, when we come back, Steve de Seger another
overtime game in the NFL and why it matters next

(01:16:10):
on Fox Sports Radio. Oh, let's go, final segment of
our two with Arnie Spanier on Chris Plank Quick Show.
It is flying by Steve Sager jumps back into the
third mic chair to get his caught up on Now

(01:16:32):
that everything is a final, right, we don't have it.
We don't have any lingering Bundesliga games right well, I
mean there might be Korean baseball still going on. Somewhere
as we found out last year. No, that's no, and
we can't update once again on Seattle defensive end Darryl Taylor,
who was carted off on a stretcher in the fourth
quarter of tonight's overtime lass at Pittsburgh. Not only did

(01:16:53):
NBC pass along that he had feeling and movement in
all the extremities, but coach Pete Carroll has said in
his press conference in Pro Football Talk, passed it along
the good information, good preliminary report. More tests need to
be done, but the initial CT scans were clear, and
in fact, coach Carroll said that Taylor was so mad
at having to be transported off the field on a
stretcher that he wanted to get up, but of course

(01:17:14):
they would not let him for obvious reasons. That's it
is Monday Night. It's Bills at Titans, Buffaloes four and
one with a four game winning streak, and during those
four games, the Bills have outscored their opponents roughly one
fifty to forty and they got the Sunday night win
at Kansas City last year. Last week, I should say,
in a rematch of last year's NFC title game, the

(01:17:34):
Bills have the NFL's highest scoring offense and the stingiest defense.
So good luck Titans, who have endured some injuries recently.
They were a playoff team last year, and they do
have Derrick Henry after all. Derrick Henry leads the NFL
with well over six hundred yards rushing in the first
five games. He's averaging twenty eight carries per game. Last year,
Tennessee routed Buffalo. This is a rematch of that. Now

(01:17:57):
we've had three games go into overtime two day, including
the one at Pittsburgh tonight. We had the Vikings win
over the Panthers. The Cowboys overtime went against the Patriots.
So that brings the total number of o t games
so far this season to eleven already in six weeks.
That trails only season which had twelve overtime games at
this point. By the way, people were yelling, where was

(01:18:19):
the taunting penalty on Ceedee Lamb when he was running
in the end zone? Everything you got nothing, that's a
gift for years. The Trayvon Digs by the way, the
Cowboys returning a fourth quarter interception for a TV his
league leading seventh pick and second pick six of the season.
Already Dallas beat New England and overtime, so Dig's is
the first player in the Super Bowl era so roughly

(01:18:41):
fifty five years two at this point have seven or
more interceptions, including to pick six is already in your
team's first six games. Panthers fell to oh and three
without running back Christian McCaffrey after they started the season
three and oh with him. Panthers lost it overtime to
the Vikings. McCaffrey will miss at least more games since
he was just placed on intro reserve. Yesterday. Baltimore's Lamar

(01:19:05):
Jackson won his thirty fifth game already as a starting quarterback.
That passes Dan Marino for the most wins by a
starting QB before your twenty fifth birthday. The Jaguars got
the victory at London over the Dolphins, and that was
a matchup of Trevor Lawrence, aged two against two, a
tongue of bree and they each through for over three
hundred yards, only the second game in NFL history in

(01:19:28):
which two quarterbacks that young each through for three hundred
or more against each other. Nobody got up and watched
that one on the West Coat That DVR was in youth.
Let's just put it that way. By the way, the
only other time in NFL history two quarterbacks that young
each through for three hundred against each other was Kyler
Murray against Jalen Hurts last year. And the Cardinals are

(01:19:49):
six and oh, the league's only unbeaten team. Six and
oh for the first time since ninety four. They won
easily at Cleveland and Kansas City. You mentioned it earlier
in the show. They were trailing at Washington in the
third quarter thirteen to ten before coming up with a
victory thirty one thirteen. So Patrick Mahomes with his twenty
ninth career three hundred yard passing game. That tis Kurt

(01:20:09):
Warner for the most three hundred yard games in your
first five seasons. He wound up with three ninety seven
through the air, two touchdowns, two interceptions, sack three times.
Only about fifty thousand fans again in d C for
that one for Detroit winless. They lost badly to Cincinnati
for the Lions game, only about fifty thousand fans for
a second straight game. Meanwhile, at Tottenham, attendance was sixty

(01:20:30):
one thousand to watch the windless Jaguars against the Miami
team that's now lost five games in a row. That
just crushed me today. That's put me in a bad mood. Well,
you ought to have a realistic view of the rest
of the season by this point, right of Aaron Rodgers
did turn towards the Chicago crowd after running in for

(01:20:51):
a t d with he had another win over the Bears,
yelling I still own you. He improves the two and
five as a starter against Chicago. Two touchdowns passing one
rushing beat the Bears, and I must mention Cooper Cup,
the Rams wide receiver in six games, has over six
fifty yards receiving and forty six catches and seven touchdowns

(01:21:12):
already the only other guy in NFL history with those
numbers at this point of your first six games with
the team, Marvin Harrison, He's having a great start. So good,
so good, thanks to Singer and the Rams. Big time
win today over another one of Artie's teams. Not a
good football seas if if if you're a team that

(01:21:35):
the Stinking Genius is a fan of. All right, when
we come back week six, what did we learn plus
Artie's picks coming up on Fox Sports Radio Final Hour.
Let's go Artie and plank on a Fox Football Sunday,

(01:21:56):
brought to you in part by Discover who matches all
the cash back you earn on your credit card at
the end of your first year. It's amazing because discoverers
accepted at places in the US and take credit cards.
Learn more Discover dot Com, slash Ye Nielson Report, limitations,
apply your picks ready? Are your picks ready? By the way,
they're not ready? Well, I have a few of them ready.

(01:22:16):
By the way. Did you have any problem with the
football game tonight or know why? Why would we have
a problem with it? Oh, you didn't hear that? I guess. Um,
I don't know how many, but a bunch whatever a
bunch is um. NBC affiliates showed the game in Spanish
to some of the viewers and they were working on
the problem some people seriously, Yeah, some people didn't even

(01:22:38):
get the game for a short amount of time. So
I was just trying to figure if how many people
are it affected? Every time I see that that automatic
thing is did you hit your SAP button on your remote? Right?
But so this was a legit problem tonight, yeah, all
fullnouncing said. Some NBC affiliates showed Sunday's football's game in
Spanish to at least some viewers. It doesn't say how many, though,

(01:23:02):
so to find I didn't know if it was a
big problem. That's that's I've seen that there was about
two or three tweets I saw from different sources that
I'm saying that they had problems with the Sunday Night feed.
So I didn't know what was going on. I had
a problem with how terrible the game was. So it
came down to a game winning kick. But beyond that,
the only thing that's got me more frustrated tonight, Arnie,

(01:23:25):
is how do you in the ninth inning? Listen, I'm
going back to the Dodgers game. I'm going back to
baseball one final time. I'm sure bin is gonna be
all over tonight, But how do you how do you
pitch to Rosario? There? Why nobody's given us an answer.
Let's there's something we just don't know where we're not
figuring out. I have no idea. I know some might
be yelling because Freeman's up next, but he struggled. You know,

(01:23:48):
he hasn't been Freddie Freeman in the first two games
of this series. Meanwhile, Rosarios look like what Freddie Freeman
typically looks like. It doesn't make a lot of sense
to me, aren'te. I thought it was a tough decision
that the Dodgers have to live with now, but Todd
Ferman got me feeling a little better. We haven't had
a road team win a game yet, unlike the American

(01:24:10):
League Championship series. So basically kudos to the Braves, but
so far they've only done what they're supposed to do, right,
win their home games. Well, yeah, they've done with but
you still feel like the Dodgers have blown two golden
opportunities at least to be one of pieces. You feel
like they could have been up to nothing of everything
went in their their direction. They went with the bullpen

(01:24:33):
game in game one. I mean, think about, this isn't
a June game, Harney. The Dodgers went with a bullpen
game in Game one, and if they could hit the
damn ball, it actually would have worked. It's amazing. Um,
it seems like they're pushing all the right buttons, but
the offense just hasn't been there yet. Well, we'll talk

(01:24:53):
a lot about you have to are you? Are you
like all the other Dodger fans, they must win all
the games at home. They got to go back to
the show up three the two otherwise they're not going
to win this thing. Well, I kind of gave up
on him last year three one, so I kind of
learned my lesson on that. So it's it's not over
till it's over already, keep hope alive. But yeah, they

(01:25:13):
Tuesday night is must win kind of like I mean, listen,
I'm not I'm not trying to get overly dramatic here,
but the way the Red Sox kicked the Astros yesterday,
I think that's a must win game tomorrow for Houston,
and that's on the road. I mean, they got kicked
the Astros did yesterday. I can't believe that the Red
Sox are doing, especially with the lack and pitching that

(01:25:33):
I thought they had at the beginning of the year.
I mean, the core has done a phenomenal job with them. Unbelievable.
How fitting is it that the a Lcs are the
two teams that were caught up in the cheating controversy
and the White Sox try to play that card they
got embarrassed. I mean, it's just when you're good, you're good,
and that's what we're seeing right now in the way

(01:25:54):
that these two rosters have been put together, maybe more
specifically for the Red Sox already, they're getting hot at
the right time. I have enjoyed the baseball playoffs now,
I mean it's it's been great. It's been great. All Right,
they're yelling at us, let's get back to football, all right,
tweets coming up at Steaking Genius one. I'm at Plank show.
We haven't hit any of our staple so let's do

(01:26:15):
it already first before we dive into what we've learned
after Week six. Who saved their season? Who ended it today?
Who saved their season today? I would have to start
with the Colts, because I mean, they were one and
four coming in. They're playing at home against a team
that they were much better than. They lose that game.
This season is definitely over. Yeah, now that there's the

(01:26:37):
only two and four, so I don't know if they're
gonna make a run of things, but they've you know,
maybe delayed the inevitable, but they saved their season today.
And I gotta tell you, coming into two and three,
could you imagine had the Chiefs lost today and dropped
the two and four. Some people, you know it's time
to panic, Yeah, because the season would have been over

(01:26:57):
for the Chiefs. Have they gone two and four? So
they saved their season. And I'll give you one other um.
And it's like we talked about them every week. It
seems like the Minnesota Vikings. Yeah, there they I mean
they pulled it out. This is a team what could
they have been like five and one or what in five?
I don't know. Uh, every week it comes down to

(01:27:20):
the last minute with them, they lose. They dropped the
two and four and then you're really scratching your head.
This was a season saving victory against the Panthers and
it came in dramatic fast shifts up in the pocket.
He'll fade to the end zone for kJ caught damn touchdown.
Seven Minnesota Vikings have walked up on the Carolina Panthers,

(01:27:41):
and the Vikings Big Carolina thirty four. Paul Allen, Vikings
Radio Network, You're right, aren'tie. I had the Vikings in
that list of teams that saved their season, because I
mean think about it, They're they're sitting now at three
and three. It took what a missed game winning old
goal to the Cardinals that could have you at four

(01:28:02):
and to Uh, it's a bad missed call. And over
time against the Bengals that could have you at five
and one. And I mean the Browns game was fourteen
to seven in a very weird day. So maybe arguably
one of the better three and three teams in the NFL.
But yeah, I'm with you. Can I be a homer
on what? Yeah? Yeah, go and knock yourself out. I

(01:28:24):
think the Raiders saved their season today. They I was
thinking about that, even though you know the three and
three doesn't mean the seasons over for you. But then
you're feeling, okay, their coaches gone, they lost the game.
Things are starting to unravel. They lost three in a row.
But um, it was a big victory, There's no doubt
about that. Yeah. They and they desperately I think, and
needed it for morale. Uh. They needed it for Rich

(01:28:46):
Psaggia too, And again I think he's been around this
team for three years. He's not some nube that they
brought in. But I thought they I thought they desperately
needed that win. And you know it's on the road too.
It's never easy to win on the row when you're
in the NFL, and they've played well against Denver, but
that's been a kind of a house of horrors. I
said that very slowly for them over the last couple

(01:29:08):
of years. I know they won last season on a
late two point conversion, but they had lost the year before,
so they they've gone to Denver. Usually it's very late
in the season and much colder, but beautiful day. Big
win for the Raiders. I think they saved their season,
all right, flippant artie whose season came to an end today?
Outside of your Dolphins, it's not. I mean we're gonna

(01:29:29):
say by Dolphins, right, they're gonna be the the first.
Even some people say, well, even if they won, they
wouldn't have saved the season anyway, So um, it doesn't
make a difference. But there, their season is over. Are
you can go ahead and write them off? It was
good today. Other teams, I don't know if anybody really
lost it. I mean, Cleveland they dropped the three and three,

(01:29:49):
but they'll still be in the thickest things. Same thing
with the Broncos. Maybe you could say the Patriots. If
you thought they were gonna make a run of the playoffs,
they come into and three. They had the game one,
they would have got back to five hundred. The Dolphins
are allowsy, the Jets allowsy, so it would have been
just them in the Bills. Maybe they have a long
shot chance at them. But um, the loss today I

(01:30:11):
think kind of just dismissed demon. I always thought they
were five win team anyway, but it looks like that
loss they pretty much uh dooms the end of them. Okay,
I've got one and then I want to circle back
around to two that might have saved. Broncos are done.
I mean they're done. They've now garnered, I guess would
be the term. Seven double digit home losses under Vick Fangio,

(01:30:34):
the stat courtesy of Andrew Mason. Seven. Um, that's the
most endured by any Broncos coach since Lou Saban from
nineteen sixty seven to nine one. For comparison, and the
Raiders got them today by ten. They had six double
digit home losses under Mike Shanahan in fourteen years. Under

(01:30:58):
Vic Fangio, they've sur passed that in two and a half,
all right, not two and three three quarters of a season. Essentially,
so not good, Arnie, not good. And I don't think
Teddy Bridgewater is healthy. I just they're they're in the
toughest division in the NFL, at least from what we
think it's gonna end up being. You just lost by

(01:31:21):
ten at home to a team who's coach got candid
this week and was mired in controversy. Oh and guess what,
you get to go to Cleveland who's gonna be mad
on a short week, and then you're back home for Washington.
So it could be a four game skid before you
get your get right game against Washington at home. But

(01:31:42):
then you gotta travel and go play Dallas to kick
off November. So tough stretch for tough stretch for dinnver.
Can I circle back to the game that we've probably
talked about more than anyone else has in the history
of uh the Early Morning Games? I mean, am I
making too much of it? If I say one win
with everything surrounding Jacksonville could have helped save the erman

(01:32:04):
Meyer tenure at Jacksonville. I know it's one win. I
know it was the last second field goal against a
bad Dolphins team. But to get that win, it kind
of get away from things and you've been surpassed in
the kind of news cycle by John gruten already. Could
that have been a not just season saving because they're
not going anywhere at least for your over win total betters,

(01:32:28):
but maybe even for urban Meyer, could have been something
that kind of helped re established him in that locker
room a bit, you know, maybe because had they lost,
I would have brought this up to you. I would
have said, hey, um, Urban Myers obviously having a tough time.
He hasn't won a game yet in the NFL. Um
and what were they mad about him? Before the start
of the season. The players said that he was too

(01:32:49):
much college stock, college to college to college, And I'm like, hey,
I don't know if you know this pike, there's some
serious college openings out there. Um. You know, by the way,
l s you was open, usc is open. Did you
say Florida was open? Wow? Uh if that does become open,
where would you go if you or Urban Meyer? Um,
I don't know. I mean, all the money is in

(01:33:11):
Jacksonville with that owner. But again, how much money do
you need to be quite the It would be quite
a suggestion to think that he would leave there to
go to a to a college program. But I can
see it happening. I'm I'm not so sure. I think
it's like fifty fifty that he does leave the team
at the end of the year. Florida isn't open. Florida
State could be, but I think they're gonna give Mike

(01:33:31):
Norvell another year. I brought up Florida. But there we're
talking about what Mullan getting can too. But am I
wrong on that? Are they really talking about canning Dan
Mullen in Florida? My god, you crazy people in Gainesville?
What are you doing? All right? Here? Was urban Meyer
after that game today when I asked you last week,
is we're desperate for when we are desperate for a win?
And we came close a few times, and there was

(01:33:52):
a lot of things to fix, but you saw young
quarterback make a big time play at the biggest time
of the game, and and then a young kicker we
just signed a couple of weeks ago pup to fifty
plus yard or so was great win um. And then
one other team that I think kind of saved their
season even though they looked horrible doing it. So I'm
not really getting too carried away. But Pittsburgh keeps finding

(01:34:13):
ways to win games. It's not pretty pin Roethlisberger does
not look good. But they're sitting at three and three
right now, and that's back to back wins. Their next game.
I think they got there by coming up this week.
They they're off this week, and then they traveled to
take on Cleveland. Uh in Cleveland, so that'll be an
interesting one here in a couple of weeks. A wow,
what a stretch for the Browns, right they got the

(01:34:34):
Thursday night games, so a quick turnaround after the loss
to Arizona and you gotta take on your rival in
Pittsburgh with a couple extras and what's up? What Baker didn't?
What he had dislocated his non throwing shoulders. That is
that's that's the rumor. But he's been dealing with that
for a while, so I don't know. Maybe they I
don't I would not be angry if I was a

(01:34:57):
Browns fan if they shut him down for a week
and said go get now. He won't do that. He'll
fight and scratch and claw, but he needs to get healthy.
He just doesn't look good. So there's a little bit
of of who saved and who ruined their season today?
Think about this. Uh, let's say he is out for
a couple of games and he's never really a percent,
and the Browns go south and maybe they don't make

(01:35:19):
the playoffs, and then Baker Mayfield wants the big contract,
but they don't want to give him the big contract. Well,
he's gonna have to go somewhere else's and someone's gonna
be looking for a quarterback like him. Well, and let's
keep this in mind too. And I bring this up
quite a bit. Everyone who drafted Baker Mayfield and was
involved in that process is no longer in that front office.

(01:35:39):
That's an entirely new front office, and Joe Barry and
what he's put together. So to a foot Baker right now,
let's do it. I'll do it right now. I don't
know if the Browns would be down with that, but
it is gonna be interesting to see if they decide
to pay him. All Right, when we come back after
week six, we know this will continue to talk some
Dodger baseball as well. After l A gets beat by
it Anti tonight. How much trouble are the Dodgers in

(01:36:03):
and who are we all in on after Week six?
Coming up next with Arnie and Plank on a Fox
Football Sunday. Oh, Arnie, you got me down a rabbit
hole of coaching rumors during the break that we'll get
to after the bottom of the hour. Well, let's just

(01:36:26):
say L. S U is reaching for the stars and
and that's not even being overly dramatic, but we'll touch
on a plus. You're here with Joe Burrow how to
say his ed oors you're on today, came to an
agreement with L. S U that he will I don't
even know if the term is resignation or be fired
after the season, a mutual parting of ways. There you go,

(01:36:51):
the best way to put it. So we'll hit on
that coming up here in just a bit. And J
J hit us up on Twitter. JJ from written and
he said, I know this doesn't matter, but look at
the box score for the Eastern Washington game last night.
Absolutely ridiculous and are do you know me? I love
myself a box score? Um you you ready for this

(01:37:14):
final score? Seventy one to twenty one, Eastern Washington improves
to seven and oh on the season, their quarterback Eric
Barrier right twenty six of thirty five, six hundred yards
seven touchdowns. They have I know, I think you should
be cut three receivers had over a hundred yards receiving,

(01:37:37):
including Freddie Robertson nine catches a hundred and ninety two
yards and two touchdowns. That sounds like a Madden game
to me. Insane. Congratulations, thanks for Brent Holy smokes, that's wild. Alright,
a couple of tweets and we'll get into what we
learned after weeks six. Uh. Minnesota man Kevin writes, I
heard it just a few moments ago, you win Stinkingenius

(01:37:59):
saying that my Vikings saved their season. How do you
think they're gonna look down the stretch? They have a
bike next week, then they play the Cowboys on Sunday
Night Football before the Ravens the following week. Tough two
games stretch. But what do you think, Arnie, It is
a tough two games stretching. You know, you never know
they started owing to um. We laughed at them when
they lost to the Bengals, but now we know that

(01:38:19):
the Bengals are a good team. We kind of got
on them when they lost to the Cardinals, but the
Cardinals may be the best team in the NFL. UM
And they did lose to the Browns, and and as
you mentioned in the fourteen seven game. Otherwise, their victimies
have not been impressive. With Carolina, the Lions, Seahawks. I
guess the true test will be the Cowboys. They'll get
the week off and they'll go ahead and have putting

(01:38:41):
the rest for that one. That's the game. I'm not
gonna say they have to win, but it's one of
those games that if you want to prove that you're ready,
uh you know, get over that hump. That's a game
you gotta win there. And then uh, well, let's see
another Viking fan checking in our man uh a reek rights.
This may be the only team the Vikings whose face
are crying for the head coach to get fired. After

(01:39:03):
two wins, many fans still want Zimmer fired. After barely
getting past the Lions and now the Panthers, these aren't
the two most intimidating kitty teams because they're not great teams.
And and you know, um McCaffrey wasn't playing for the
Panthers and the Lions of the Lions. So we'll see
what happens after the Cowboys game in the Ravens. Like

(01:39:25):
the Texters said, and then j J rites, what the hell?
This is a great point, What the hell was going
on at the end of the game. Why was DK
Metcalf trying to run over a defender instead of getting
out of bounds. I don't have an answer for that one.
I have no idea what they were thinking about that.
I have no idea. Add the Seahawks to a team

(01:39:47):
whose season is done to and you can't even get
excited about the draft because you don't have a first
round pick. Uh And by the time, I mean, you're
now what three and four or at two and four,
so you're already what four back in the NFC West.
Just a disastrous season so far for Seattle. But then

(01:40:09):
what I told it and Charmed Life. Remember when I
was I told you before the start of the season
is exactly what is happening. I said there was six
teams already I think five teams already clinched their divisions
before the season I already started. And it turned out
to be true. I mean, Buffalo is pretty much clinched
the division. So that looks like the Dallas is clincher division.

(01:40:29):
They have like a three game lead. There separation between
the separation with Green Bay in Minnesota Arizona, there's no
separation but you know, obviously the run up there, but
there's there's about three or four division zona to win
the West. Yeah, I might, I was gonna picked Tampa.
You took Tampa. I was like, what are you going

(01:40:51):
trying to claim you took Arizona. No, but you're right,
you said up the four of the eight divisions, five
of the eight divisions were already decided. And you know,
outside of you know, Tennessee, they don't feel like they're
running away with thee They have a two game lead
in that division right now. The only one that you're
you're really in the sitting is Kansas City, but they're

(01:41:14):
only a game out of first place right now. And
I mean after the Chargers apparently have been given the
Super Bowl this year, and and and and the greatest
coach in the history of coaching has led them to
a four and one market heading into today, they got
slammed back to Earth. But the good news for Charger

(01:41:34):
fans is they've got thereby and then they've got a
three game stretch with Patriots, Eagles, Vikings before they have
to worry about the Steelers. So there's a really good
chance this is a seven and two team by the
time they play Pittsburgh and get back into their division.
All right, um, Aretie, let's get this started and then
wrap it up after Steve's update. We've procrastinated long enough,

(01:41:58):
Artie Spaniard, after a week six of the National Football League,
I know this all right, after six weeks of the
NFL season, I know this, And I'll start with my Dolphins.
How could I be so stupid to think that this
was a team that was actually gonna go to the
playoffs to make a run at the Super Bowl. I mean,
they had such a good year last year. To uh two,

(01:42:20):
it's two a time. Oh, but he only painted half
the season this year. He's really gonna be great. He's
gonna come back. He's not gonna have any injuries. The
guy was recuperating from his hip injury. Out there, man,
six weeks after this year two of him? He finally
is he coming around here at three hundred yards? But
he puts passing against the Jaguars. Uh, the Dolphins took

(01:42:41):
a major step back. I see that. To uh is
not the answer after six weeks of the NFL. Here,
after six weeks of the NFL, I think Ceedee Lamb's
the best receiver not just for the Cowboys, but I
think in the NFC East, maybe in the NFC. I
like him a lot. And I know some would automatically
be okay, Oklahoma Homer, we get it, but I mean

(01:43:05):
he was. He was fantastic today and he was the
go to guy. They targeted him eleven times, uh nine
catches a hundred forty nine yards, two scores. So in
his last two games he's got thirteen receptions for over
two hundred yards and they're big plays. Now, remember coming out,
Henry Ruggs was taken before him. There were questions about

(01:43:26):
I guess his speed, which I still think it is crazy.
But already after week six, Cowboys are no joke and
I think Ceedee Lamb is their best receiver period and
maybe in b NFC right now, I will tell you this,
after six weeks of the NFL, I don't care what
anybody tells me. The Kansas City Chiefs are still broke.
Just because they beat Washington on the road and it

(01:43:47):
was a good victory, but they were down at halftime, Um,
they were down in the third. I thought Washington was
gonna be able to squeeze this one out, maybe steal
an upset there, there's some problems. Mahomes does take too
many answers. Now all of a sudden, he's showing his
vulnerability by getting picked off. And they really didn't even
have to do that. But the Chiefs are showing their cracks.

(01:44:10):
After six weeks, they're not running away with anything. They're
not even gonna win the division. Maybe, And after six weeks,
Aaron Rodgers, I know this still knows how to play
with not just the emotion of Bears fans, but Packer
fans as well. Here was a run after the game,
playing Soldier Field, and I said this week, I have

(01:44:32):
a lot of respect for the fans, and I'm sure
there's a little bit of respect coming back in my way.
Not about love, I'm sure, But I don't think this
is my last one, but I have to do it
every single one. I don't think this was my last
game in Chicago. Now again, some might be looking at
the Steelers schedule to see if they've got a trip
coming up to Chicago in the next few years. But

(01:44:55):
you know, Aaron Rodgers pretty sharp dude. Now you canna
say why the Packers are they'll playing in the same
division anymore? Well, his last to Chicago. Yeah. Um, but
I just he always throws a little bit out there
to keep Packer fans hoping. Right, I don't know if
that's my last game or not, so it's always a

(01:45:16):
little bit. Uh well, maybe he'll be back next year.
So I'm telling you, I've been a firm believer that
Aaron Rodgers in two is a green Bay Packer. But man,
he looks awesome. So did Green Bay today in uh
in beating up on the Chicago Barry zero goes back
by the way way, Oh, it's much It's much higher
than zero zero, just just like that same percentage chance

(01:45:37):
that the Dolphins are going to the Super me come back.
I gotta get into a little bit of what I
learned after week six about I guess now seven, about
some college coaching moves and the new Heisman Trophy front
runner Caleb Williams. But first, and for one final time, tonight,
Steve T. Saker gets a squat up on everything going
on in the world of sports. What's up, Steve? Speaking

(01:45:58):
of college football, did you see that the grad assistant
is back at South Carolina's starting quarterback coming. Yes, he's
going up against Texas A and M. This is a
guy zeb Nolan who had plagued quarter He's twenty four
now at played quarterback at Iowa State. North Dakota State
accepted an offer to join their coaching staff down there,
and because of injury they needed him early season and

(01:46:18):
now the guy who was starters apparently reinjured the front
so he's a go. Congratulations l s U football coach
at or you're on will not return next season. At
Georgia and Cincinnati are one two in the new Apeo Pole.
Oklahoma State is up to number eight, Iowa fell to
number eleven, Kentucky is down to number fifteen, and U
T San Antonio at seven, and oh is ranked number

(01:46:40):
twenty four in the nation first time ever ranked. Perdue
is now twenty five. By the way, Clemson is a
Clemson is still ranked twenty four in the Coaches Poll.
Clearly not watching, Perdue snapped what was the longest current
a people drought for a Power five school. The boiler
Makers were last in two thousand seven, so now taking

(01:47:03):
over the top spot on the list of longest current
runs without being ranked among the Power five schools. Kansas, Yeah,
stay tuned for air. They're gonna lose their nineteenth game
in a row Friday Night, Kansas last ranked in October
of two thousand nine, and this note from Major League

(01:47:23):
Baseball owners have agreed to start providing housing to certain
minor league players starting the next season. They're finalizing the details,
but going into this season, the minimum salaries were up
a bit. In a ball it's five hundred bucks a
week minimum, double, a six, triple a seven hundred bucks.
You know, it was a five month season. You only
get paid in the season. So there had been serious

(01:47:44):
complaints this summer about how things were going, and some
movement on that well. Game two of the NL Championship
Series Atlanta went to the Braves five four over the Dodgers,
getting two runs in the eighth, one in the bottom
of the ninth. Eddie Rosario four hits, including the game
winning single in the ninth. Braves had one last night
game with a run in the bottom of the night,
so they're up to games to none. Jack Peterson the
x Dodger with a two run homer fourth inning. Today,

(01:48:06):
shortstop Corey Seeger two run homer in the first inning.
Dodger got a single at a homer to start the
game and barely any hits the rest of the night
after that, and Seeger missed the final line drive bottom
of the nights trying to backhand it. Justin Turner did
not start, not only due to a neck injury, but
perhaps because he's three for this postseason. He was hit
by a pitch as a pinch hitter in the seventh.

(01:48:29):
Max Erzer was the starter. He went four in a
third inning, seven strikeout seventy nine pitches. He said afterwards,
dead armed the problem. He just pitched Monday getting the save.
I believe he's pitched literally half of their postseason game
so far this month, but he hopes he'll be if
it comes back to his start, but it will be
a go next time around. It's Walker Bueller against Charlie

(01:48:49):
Morton in l A for Game three, a day game Tuesday,
five pm Eastern, and then the Lakers season openers Tuesday
night in downtown l A. And the Dodgers say Julio
Arias will start Game four on Wednesday night. He pitched
Tonied and allowed two runs in the bottom of the
eighth thing the Alcs was off. It's tied at a
game of piece Houston's at Boston for three starting Monday, night.

(01:49:09):
Game three is on FS one eight pm Eastern Monday,
and Game four is Tuesday night on FS one, also
at eight pm Eastern ton. Kyle Larson, the NASCAR winner
at Texas, is eighth victory of the season. Rory McElroy
took the golf tournament in Las Vegas by one stroke
over Colin Morikawa, who shot sixty two today. Don't feel
too bad. The winner earned over one point seven five

(01:49:31):
million dollars. Second place got about one million dollars in
this event. NBA regular season does start with two games,
including the Lakers on Tuesday night. The Sun's reportedly are
giving mcau bridge is a four year extension. Ben Simmons
practiced with the seventy six ers today. Of course, he
had requested a trade held out. I don't know how
effective are smoothly. He's only got about a hundred fifty

(01:49:54):
mill left on the max contract, but yeah, I'm sure everything.
They're singing Kumbaya together. The NFL to Pittsburgh and overtime
beat Seattle. Seahawks are two and four on injured reserve
our quarterback Russell Wilson and running back Chris Carson. Alex
Collins did rush for over a hundred yards in a score.
Gino Smith was the quarterback and fumbled in overtime, stripped

(01:50:14):
by t. J. Watt. Smith was sacked five times. Chris
Boswell the game winning field goal, including a fifty two
yard or by the way late in regulation. He went
three for three on field goals. Dallas won its fifth
straight and overtime win at New England thirty five twenty nine.
You mentioned Ceedee Lamb nine receptions, hundred forty nine yards
and two touchdowns, including the game winner. Dak Prescott on

(01:50:36):
that last throw strained a calf, but they are going
into the bye week. He doesn't think it's serious. Arizona
six and oh. After winning at Cleveland thirty four touchdown
passes for Kyler Murray cart led twenty to nothing in
the second quarter. Baker Mayfield was sacked five times re
injured his left shoulder. He thinks he can play through it.
Las Vegas a winner at Denver thirty four twenty four.

(01:50:57):
Teddy Bridgewater four turnovers while Derek carr at two touchdown
passes and three d forty one yards through the air.
Raiders four and two tied for first in the division
with the Chargers Baltimore wiped the floor with the Chargers
today thirty four six the final. They were up seventeen
nothing in the second quarter. And did you notice with
all the running back injuries today it was one touchdown

(01:51:17):
run each for Latavius Murray, Levan Bell and Dfante Freeman.
Baltimore has won five in a row, Murray with an
ankle injury. By the way, Green Bay won its fifth
in a row at Chicago. Aaron Rodgers with all three
t d s, two passing one Rusheen the final. Justin
Fields was sacked four times. Rams are five and one.
They wanted the Giants thirty eight eleven. Daniel Jones with

(01:51:38):
four turnovers, sacked four times in the loss. Houston's lost
five in a row and they got killed at Indianapolis,
a team that was one and four coming in thirty
one three Colts the final. Next Sunday night, it's Colts
at San Francisco. Barring some late flex I guess trying
to look at the rules again on that one, Kansas
City with a comeback win. Cincinnati won again. Of course,

(01:52:00):
it was at winless Detroit, but it's a w Jacksonville
one on the late field goal in London and Minnesota
and overtime winner at Carolina. Back to you, thanks, Steve,
have a great week and play on a Fox Football Sunday.
All right, Arnie, We we've talked a lot about the
NFL tonight. One quick buy or sell before we get
your picks and get out of here. Buy or sell.

(01:52:21):
L s U was a better job than USC. I'm
gonna buy that. I'm going to buy that because so
many factors are involved with USC. First of all, the
Pack twelve, let's be honest, not even on the same
level as the SEC. So that's gonna compel L s
U to be in a better job, in high profile

(01:52:43):
job right off the bat. Um to also just the
way people go to the games. Um, and I know
if USC was really really good, you know they'd have
a better crowd. But L s U it's a way
of life down there. Um No, I'm gonna say L
s H is a better job over USC. But that
doesn't mean USC's not a good job though. So with

(01:53:04):
that in mind, with ed O Geron mutually parting ways
his all world quarterback when he was the head coach
that led him to a national championship, Joe Burrow was
asked for his thoughts on coach oh leaving. You know,
that's dispointing to me because he's really a man that
gave me an opportunity when nobody else really was. I

(01:53:25):
wouldn't be here without coach Ow and you. Our our
relationship will continue for for the rest of our lives.
I love I love him man, I love the coach.
I hope he's able to find a place for you know,
he feels like he's welcome. What's your losing street gap
for Arizona. I'm not saying it to like it's fourteen
right or is it fifteen now? Something like that. I
haven't kept track. L s U won the national championship

(01:53:47):
two years ago. I said, you should have it in
your contract and if you win the championship, you can't
get fired for five years. Two years ago and he's out.
So here's here's the two names that are Buddy Bruce
Feldman over at the Athletic are saying are the one
in two candidates. Number two candidate melt Tucker. Listen, melt

(01:54:09):
Tucker is a rock star with what he's done at
Michigan State. They're still undefeated. He's a forty nine year
old dude. He's an Ohio native. Seems to be very
happy at Michigan Michigan State right now. But I mean,
if you want to look some dude at Michigan States
ended up having a nice career after getting his well
I guess not technically his head coaching start there, but
really made a name for himself and Nick Saban. So

(01:54:32):
melt Tucker defensive guy will be interesting. But apparently do
you know who the number one candidate is for this
job right now? Urban Meyer? No, I don't know who
is it going to be? Jimbo Fisher head coach. He
worked at l s U under Saban and according to
this report, has a good relationship again according to this

(01:54:54):
report with Scott Woodward, who is the athletic director, he's
fourteen and three the past two Reason's just beat Nick
Saban last week at College station. Again, I thought you're
gonna tell you it was Lane Kiffin. I was gonna
go this thing. Well, Lane Kiffin's on this list to
stop it is not. Kiffin is more of a wild

(01:55:14):
card candidate, writes Bruce Felderman. He was close to joining
or Jeron's initial staff at l s U had he
not gotten the head coach's job at f a U.
Other names Mark Stoops, Mario Kristo Ball, Billy Napier, Dabbo
Sweeney for some reason is on this list, and James
Franklin of Penn State. So there you go, l s

(01:55:35):
U shooting for the stars. Why do you make class night.
You guys were on the air when that madness was
going down in Tennessee, weren't you. Yeah, we had Jason
Martin on who was at the game, Um, Joe SANKI
the commissioner, Greg, don't you don't you miss represent my
commissioner Greg. He pretty much said that he was going

(01:55:56):
to go ahead and that the hammer was going to
come down. There was going to be some made me
feel like a severe punishment was going to happen. I
don't know what they could do. You know, in the
COVID we see, we saw what it was like to
play in front of no fans. I don't think they'll
go that far, but I do think there's gonna be
some hefty fine after the Shenanigans yesterday. Throws Mustard on

(01:56:18):
the field is what I want to know us Mustard,
I have no idea, And how can you get through
security with a golf ball. I just don't get it
all right. Uh, final segment coming up. It's what you
all came for, Arnie's Picks, to take us home on
a Sunday night into a Monday morning on a Fox
Football Sunday Fun Show, Fast Show tonight. Thanks for hanging

(01:56:51):
in there. Great job, Bobo as always on the wheels
of Steel, Danny g In tonight, Bo Benton a show
so big we needed dudes to make sure we stayed
on track. Great job at the Sagar on updates and
the millions and millions of editors behind the scenes who
brought us great sound that we'll get to before we

(01:57:12):
get out of here. But it's it's that time. It's
what you all came for, steaking genius taken away. Time
for Arnie's Picks. Oh, I feel good. I've been on
fire a little bit now that I've had new teams
to root for. We start with a little MLB playoffs. Oh,
Dodger fans, don't panic. You're down two games to nothing,

(01:57:38):
But that's okay because I'm here to tell you. The
Dodgers come back and win Game three. The Dodgers come
back and win Game four. The Dodgers come back and
win Game five. They lose Game six, which sets up
a Game seven, and of course, the Dodgers win games
seven and get by the Atlanta Braves, which also means

(01:58:00):
the Red Sox get by the Ask Jos. It's gonna
be the Dodgers and the Red Sox in the World Series.
With the Dodgers getting by the Red Sox. Let's get
to you know, Chris, I know you're the college football guy.
This is perhaps the worst weekend of college football. And
don't tell me, you know, I can go watch golf,

(01:58:23):
watch golf. Worst weekend of college football ever, it seems
like this is worse than like Week zero. Matter of fact,
I think there's only one matchup of two opponents that
are ranked, and that's It's like San Diego State and
I forget who else it was down there, well, but
that's not it's San Diego State and Air Force. But okay,

(01:58:46):
that's just bogus. You get USC Notre Dame this week.
I'm giving the pick on that one. Don't rush it,
but that's it. That's all you're getting this weekend. Clemson's
it pitt l s l A with you give me
the Trojans plus six and a half over the Irish

(01:59:09):
and that one, and actually that's gonna be an upset special.
I think USC wins the game. Uh and NFL game.
I'm gonna take the Browns on Thursday night against Denver.
I'll lay the five, and the NBA is here. Give
me my Lakers minus the four against the Golden State Warriors.
I love the Lakers that year. So there you have

(01:59:30):
my big stew of them as you please. No longer
strictly for entertainment purposes. Only the Lakers and the Knicks
in the finals. Thank you, Thank you. Get rich This week,
Coastal Carolina is only a three and a half point
favorite against Appalachian State. They might beat him by fifty.
You know, my ideas have a college football and I

(01:59:51):
T where you have Coastal Carolina, and you know the
schools like that are. Why not just expand the playoff
and invite them in the playoffs. Let's get to twelve.
We don't need an n I T. Qu're trying to
get Arizona in there. Um, all right, let's get a
little audio before we get out of here. Let's start. Um,
Oh gosh, where do you want to start? How about

(02:00:13):
Pete Carroll with an update on Darryl Taylor, who was
taken off the field on a stretcher tonight and went
to the hospital. Here's what Pete Carroll had to say afterwards.
Preliminary because I want to give you something positively. They
were clear on the CT scans were clear. Um, so
that's a really good preliminary report for you. There's more
tests to be done and stuff like that. So we're

(02:00:33):
thrilled about that news. Meanwhile, what's great news, right Seahawks
lost the game, but but good news to see the
Taylor is going to be well. We assume that he's
gonna be okay. Dak Prescott took us through the game
winning past to ceedee lamb and overtime as bad obviously
when you when you score and you win the game.
So all that's a plus and uh credit to CD

(02:00:54):
right there and just to play call, just for us
to to get in that, to get in that moment
and to be able to go score and Cabin lies
on that great call by Kelly Rick Besacia who Rich Bisaccia,
new head coach of the Raiders, on coaching his first
NFL game. The best part for me was to be
able to get on the grass. I mean the most
of the worst part for me was figuring out the headset,
and so once you get on the field and the

(02:01:14):
game goes, and a lot of my responsibilities were the
same and again really collective effort going through the game.
Did you happen to see good job? I think they
were on CBS today they showed the video of him
before the game, AREN'TI legitimately trying to figure out the
headset and they had the sideline guys that we're sitting
there holding it and they're like, this is the button

(02:01:35):
right here, this is the button right there. So that
was that was pretty funny. Raiders ended up beating up
on the Braves and our part me on the Broncos.
And speaking of the Braves, this is what it sounded
like on the Atlanta Braves radio network line drive. That
is through, it gets through, here comes stands me bladening
strikes twice and the Braves walking all this is unbelieabeable

(02:01:59):
and the Braves why and they go up again. I
haven't seen too much and I'm sure Ben will talk
about it tonight. I'm really surprised, Arnie that they decided
to pitch in that situation. To the hottest hitter in
the Braves lineup in Rosario and not maybe try to

(02:02:20):
put it on the shoulders of Freeman. But I guess
I have nothing to worry about because you just told
me the Dodgers are winning in seven. Yeah, the Dodgers
will come back when the next three they'll go up
three to two, and we'll see what happens after that.
All right, let's have a less newsy week in Vegas. Alright, raiders,
let's have a less newsy week. Great job again by
the crew, for Bobo, for Danny, for Bow, for the Sager.

(02:02:42):
He's already spanning on Chris Plank Big BNUS. Next. We'll
be back next Sunday night, right here on Fox Sports Radio.
