then they just show all the way back up every
single time. And we've got another one here that will
dive into coming up in just a couple of moments
that go over. There's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This
is Fox Sports Radio. You can check out this show

(00:44):
Jonas so much to talk about tonight, and I don't
even know where you want to start off with, but man,
let me feel bad. And there's a number of reasons
why and there for a number of people, but the
other side of me, I thought this weekend was fun
nominal for the craw and for the game of football. Yeah,
I mean, because you're gonna get a lot of new
faces for the most part, a lot of new faces

(01:06):
that are gonna be getting a chance in a big
time spot to showcase their skills as opposed to some
of the usuals that we get to see their deep
into the postseason for the first time in seventeen years
in the a f C. No Brady, no Roethlisberger, no Manning,
and the only other person who was in that equation

(01:27):
Joe Flacco. None of those guys now are part of it.
It's been a long time, so it's kind of a
changing of the guards, if you want. I think that's
fair to say. Think about that, seventeen years and it's
been dominated by three quarterbacks. That's that's insane. It's it's incredible.
I mean, it does speak volumes to just the organizations,
their stability, how great those players were. But I think

(01:50):
one thing, um, you know, showed us at least today
even talking about the NFC. You know, Drew Brees, he's
no longer out, future Hall of Famer, Brady is now
you know mentioned that Hound comes in. Honestly, he was
a bad friend kind of starting, but he had to
come in for the injured Carson Wentz and that's it
wasn't that bad, I mean at all. In fact, it

(02:10):
was a gutsy performance. I mean the guy was out
there running around doing all he could. And look Chris Collinsworth,
which king Chris Collinsworth impression Roke. I mean, I gotta
tell you, you gotta give credit to Doug Peterson and
his staff, and more importantly to Josh mccawn, a lifetime backup.
You know, think Don Peterson knows exactly what Josh McCown's
going through. Gallee Um, so at the tremendous job. By

(02:33):
the way, that's by far and away the best impression
you do. What about what about my Brian kumbele Um?
What does that one sound like? Let's move on to
a story in the National Football League involving a player
and his Notre Dame heritage. No, it's not Collinsworth by
a mile. It might be the best Chris collins Worth

(02:53):
I've heard, but either way, it's like mccount did. Is
good a job as I think you could have getten
thrust in that situation for people who don't understand the
life of a backup. When you're in that spot and
mind you, this is a quarterback to who was doing
the same thing I'm doing, sitting in a studio or
you know, talking on radio, doing different things as an analyst,
and then he gets thrusted back into too playing for

(03:15):
a football team as a backup, and he's probably not
getting any reps. I mean literally, in practice, when I
was a starter, I never let my backup take reps
because I want to take every rep possible to prepare
myself because if I missed out on a rep, especially
on a new play or on third down in one
of the specific situations, I always felt like I'd go
back and regret it for not being prepared. So he

(03:38):
probably didn't get any reps. He was probably throwing scout
team and running things off cards all week in preparation
for this matchup, and then he gets thrusted in and
has to be the hero in that game. So my,
by the way, it wouldn't be as tough or as
difficult of a task if Nick Foles had led the
Eagles do a Super Bowl, right, it makes his job
that much harder because that's the expectation. And also it's
not like he's being as you've so eloquently stated, four

(04:01):
or five different times thrusted for some reason, that's right
at the tip of your tongue, which makes me wonder.
Was like, it's at the tip, it's along the shaft.
No idea why, but that sounded really inapproriate. Just it's
out there, man, yeah, listen, So it just it just
makes me wonder how the weekend's gone for you. And
the miss is there, But we will steer away from

(04:22):
that and steer right into this. It's not like he's
also taking over a team coming off the bench that's
loaded with talent. I mean, and they were so banged up,
Like what you saw in this game against Seattle is
a microcosm of exactly what their season was. They couldn't
stay healthy all year. They just couldn't stay healthy, and
and they got as far as they possibly could. I
feel terrible for Carson Wentz, who went down with a

(04:43):
concussion early in the game and wasn't able to return.
He willed his team to the postseason. The last four
games of the year probably some of the best football
he's played with scraps around him got him into the postseason.
They finally get there, he gets his opportunity to right
all the wrongs change on the narratives, and then he
gets a concussion. I feel terrible for the guy, really do.

(05:04):
I feel awful for him. Um and you know for
people out there like, oh, you can't even make it
through a playoff game. He's basically been in playoff games
for the past two weeks because they had to win
if they wanted to have a shot. So he's proved
that he can do it. It's just the unfortunate part
I think for him is you know what tag he's
getting his injury prom I already saw a couple of

(05:27):
people out there today and granted, I'm never gonna use
Twitter as the vehicle as the basis for anything, but
there's some guys that I played with, guys that I
respect their opinion, who came out and made that statement
and they said, you know, look, they've already paid him.
You know, he's already the franchise guy. But bottom line
is he couldn't stay healthy. I just think the counters

(05:47):
that argument is, well, then they should have Nick Foles. Well,
Nick Foles had a hard times dounhealthy. He got eleven
plays into the game in Week one this year and
got hurt. So let's not play that card. It was unfortunate,
probably would have been in uh in college, they would
have considered that hit by Clowney's targeting. And I think
if we're really concerned about players safety, you could have
called it a personal foul based on the hit two

(06:09):
once his back of his head and then his head
hitting into the ground. Yeah. I don't like the whole
um injury prone conversation on stuff like a concussion where
a guy drives your hit you in the back of
the head and drives you into the turf. If it's
non contact and he keeps blowing his knee out or
something like that, I get it, then there's a problem.
There's clearly an issue. But he played his ass off

(06:30):
the last quarter of the season. I would say, if
you just gave an m v P award to somebody
for the last quarter of the season, I'd give it
to Carson Wentz, not for the whole season, Lamar Jackson
slam dunk unless you're Bill Pulling. But uh, and and
maybe we'll talk to that lady. Um. It's good to
see he let that one go, though, Huh. But I
will I just think he played his ass off down
the stretch, and it's just an unfortunate break. That stuff happens,

(06:52):
it's it's violence, it's a collision, sport clowney driving him
to the ground like that. You could tell he desperately
wanted to keep in the game, and they showed him
on the sideline. It looked like he couldn't even keep
his eyes straight. Have you collins Or said this during
the game that some of his worst concussions were when
he got hit in the back of the head. Those
are always he had an issue with. So have you
dealt with that before? Oh? Yeah, So let's go back

(07:15):
to two thousand and twelve. Um, I'm coming in and
relief for Matt Castle. He got knocked out with the concussion.
So then I finished out the game versus Baltimore. Should
have one, got drobbed by the refs. Never mind, Um,
so we move on now. I played the next week
versus Tampa bad football game. It was maybe the hottest,
most human conditions I've ever been in. I think I

(07:37):
had to change pants at halftime. So then that's the
next week. We come home to play that swamp as
Oh my gosh, swamp everything. But so they put me
in to let me start versus Oakland and I won't.
I'll never forget. Well, I'll forget this because I don't
necessarily recall the hit. But I remember watching him back
on film and thinking to myself, it wasn't the initial
hit by Rolando McClean. He was a linebacker for the

(08:00):
Oakland Raiders at the time. Uh running back had missed
him after the play action, you know, fake he missed
him and picking him up, or maybe he had picked
up the sam And I think the Mike was hug rushing,
which means basically, once his guy's responsible and coverage ends
up blocking he he comes. He basically blitz is like
Malcolm Jenkins did tonight for Philadelphia and trying to get

(08:20):
after Russell Wilson. But anyway, he hit me just as
I'm like, my arms are are kind of extended out,
I'm getting ready to release the football, comes out of nowhere,
hits me and makes you know, contact with my helmet.
But it was actually when I got you know, he
landed on top of me. I had slammed back in
the ground. That was that was where you could you
could tell that I had a hard time, you know,

(08:40):
dealing with And there was a couple of hits in
a couple of different series, and that was the one
where I kind of got up and I swear to
you my my vision was fuzzy and it kind of
felt like I had something in my eyes. And so
we ended up, you know, they were end up recovering
the football. I believe we punted. I walk up on
the sidelines and I'm kind of rubbing my eyes, thinking like, Okay,
I've got something in my eyes. That's why my vision

(09:01):
is a little fuzzy, and it wouldn't go away. And
so you know, Brian Dable, who's over see at the time,
he's talking to me castles. You know, We're just kind
of sitting there talking through the drive and I'm thinking, like, shoot, man,
like I need to wash my eyes out or something.
I said, hold on for a second, and so I
keep rolling my eyes and all that, and like my
vision is not coming back, and at least not what
I'm customed to is, So can you see anything? So

(09:23):
i'd like tunnel vision almost like I had a hard time,
like periphetly feeling anything, and everything was just kind of blurry,
and I basically like trainer and coming over and ask
files all right, and they did some vision test. He's like, hey,
maybe let's go back and check you out. God rest
his soul. David Price are our athletic trainer. He's he's
he's actually passed away. But he took me back in
the locker room. They did evaluation the like you've you've

(09:45):
had a concussion, And so I ended ended up having
to go to a specialist in Pittsburgh because I was
having a hard time like tracking things like even reading,
like my eyes would jump from at time to time,
having a hard time staying on words. It probably took
me three weeks just to feel like I'm I'm back
to normal, and my eyesight got back to normal. I
had to do all these different eyesight drills and things

(10:06):
to retrain my eyes and and all this stuff almost
like I had a vision problem, and I guess it
was because of the hit and knocked off my lens.
So I know that's a long winded story, but those
sorts of hits can really impact literally how you see
the game and how you play the game. And it's
obviously nothing to deal with, especially for Whence thinking long term,

(10:27):
but but even then, you know, it's it's just tough
because especially for him, given that the adversity has been
through with injuries. I'm sure he was dying to be
back out there in the field and proved people wrong. No,
but it makes total sense because that's exactly what he
was doing on the sidelines. He was trying to look
at the tablet they gave him the tablet. He was
sitting next to Josh McCown and he kept rubbing his eyes,
and so it's exactly the same thing you just described

(10:47):
to where he it looked like he couldn't seem to focus.
So it wasn't like one of those Well i mean, look,
if they would have won this game, who the hell
knows that Peop would have been ready to go next week.
By the way the way m account and that offense
kind of moved the football at times, like if Wentz
was in there, I don't think it's far fetched to
think that that game could have gone to oats here
or maybe would have ended with a different outcome. I'm

(11:09):
just I'm thinking out there. I think it's hard being
an account shoes too. Then when you get down the
red zone, or I can promise you no quarterback or
no backup, it's getting those reps in the red set.
If there's any reps you're giving up as a starter.
It's not the it's like first second down, it's not
the ones in the red zone. Um and and because
the timing and the precision of the passing is so

(11:29):
precise that you just can't afford, especially with some new
concepts you put in, you can't afford to give those
reps up. So, uh, it's a tough spot for him
to be in because when they got down that area
the field, you could just tell things kind of we're
a little bit off schedule. I just hope that the
conversation in Philadelphia and beyond isn't solely about, as you
pointed out, not being able to trust when this is

(11:51):
why you can't trust him, this is why they made
a mistake. I just want people to remember the last
four weeks of the season and what that guy was
working with and what he did to get that team
to the playoffs, because without him, they're not getting to
the playoffs. He made chicken soup out of chicken. You
know where I'm going? Yes, like they, I mean they.
I've never seen a team gutted with injuries, especially at

(12:12):
the wide receiver position like the Eagles. Like I've never
have you have you been on a team that dealt
with that many injuries Actually season, I was to say
that the Chiefs that two thousand, twelve years we had
we had two offensive linemen that had gotten on our team,
like three weeks prior, maybe we had we had a
center who was playing who was originally a guard, but

(12:34):
our starting center went out, so we had to move
him into center. And then we had another guard, and
we had actually had two other guards that came in
during the season, Like as you're already playing, we had
one of our one of our tackles was a backup,
was a rookie. He is in for our injured left tackle.
I mean, it was an absolute mess. Our rightsackle was
the only healthy one at wide receiver. We were missing

(12:55):
our top two wide receivers, and so now you're you're
dipping into like guys who were it had been like
Matthew Slater being the number one for the New England Patriots.
That was essentially where we were at that point time.
Like Terrence Copper was one of the best special teams
players we had, but he got thrust it into a
position where he now had to be one of the
main targets and a bunch of college free agents, rookies,
guys weren't even drafted that were thrusted in that position.

(13:17):
And then Steve Breston was dealing with the knee injury.
He kind of came in was the end of his career.
He kind of came in there to two to supplementute.
So it's just tough. It's tough when you're trying to
when you're not a great football team to begin with,
and you need difference makers like try playing in Mile
High Stadium versus DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller as the
two edge rushes versus that defense back in two thousand

(13:39):
twelve and Payton Manning with a supporting cast that really
outside of Jamal Charles, there wasn't a whole lot going on.
By the way, I feel a little naked right now.
Um there's no football on, like we've been doing weirds
and I know for three months there's been What that means,
you know, we should probably we should probably talk about
we should probably talk about the NBA right like at
some points that maybe like our four that's a healthy

(14:01):
absolutely our four. And in fact, Brady Quinn and I
and since you brought it up, we do want to
make an announcement. Brady Quinn and I will be doing
an all NBA show, three hours of nothing but the
National Basketball Association. That'll be coming up. It'll be coming
up on January the thirty second, So January thirty second
and All NBA show starring Brady Quinn and myself. The

(14:23):
Golden Globe by the way, February, it's going to be
our m o B spring training previous. We will have
a spring review February. It was a leap he or
so like play it safe. By the way, the Golden
Globes are on. If you would like updates on the
Golden Globes here on Fox Sports Radio, you can tune

(14:44):
somewhere else US covered Sea will be. I couldn't care
less about the Golden Where are the got us covered?
What are the Golden Globes? What are the the TV
shows that words for tvch You know he's into it,
lead to lap guaranteed, guaranteed, lead to lapse into it.
You think he is yeah, hud percent, he's got a
lot of stuff is juggling. Let's go live. Let's go
live to our what are the Golden gloves? Stuff? Side

(15:06):
or lead a laugh for the latest lead. The Golden
Globes are in Beverly Hills tonight. We have got two
awards so far. I believe it's Chernobyl. Did Schnobyl win? Yes? Meat?
All right, did you watch that? What are the Golden Gloves?
Golden Globes are television and movies? Television and movie. Alright,
so like, what's the isn't the Oscars movies? The Oscars

(15:29):
are exclusively movies. Golden Globes are both. It's by the
Foreign press. Yeah, all right, well that's day man. That's awesome. Um.
I'd rather watch my dog die again to watch the
Golden Globes. I'll just say that I thought we were
sorry about that. I thought diculous. I thought we were
at break. I'm seking from a guy who lost his
dog this year. You know it's my dog. I can

(15:51):
make the joke, all right, Jonahs, Socks, Brady Quinn here
on Fox Sports Radio from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
All right, coming up next, we were awaiting the new is.
We wondered when it was gonna happen, and it was
so appropriate that it happened today. Find out what we're
talking about here on fs are what Are you playing
jock jams? What? It's jock jams? But that's on every

(16:16):
job Now, that's what I call music. Like it's like
the soundtrack of the first X Games. So cheese. This
song stinks. I used to love when they played this
at like in high school football, Like it was gonna
get everybody pumped up and then we'd get blown out.
How about work? Uh? Yeah? Probably? Well, um, we put
a cap on the ones conversation though for a minute. Yeah,

(16:37):
can I let everybody know what show this is? First?
He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knoxas is Fox Sports Radio
from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios and coming up
in a little over five minutes from now here on
FS are we are going to talk about one team? Um? Well,
that's already trying to find the excuse. They are familiar

(16:57):
with this and we will have that a little over
five minutes from now on Fox Sports Radio. Brady Quinn,
your thoughts, let's put a cap on this Carson Wentz conversation,
so someone tildbow on it. Okay, what he did to
finish the season was phenomenal. I think he proved he
is the player that they signed him to be that
they drafted him to be. There's no concerns outside of
the fact that moving forward, he does need to be

(17:20):
cognizant of what he's doing with the football when he's
doing it, because if you look at the knee injury,
if you look at this particular concussion, they're all when
he's outside the pockets, scrambling, and I think you had
a start. Contrast with a guy who almost never miss
his games. In fact, Russell Wilson, I can't remember the

(17:41):
last I don't think he's ever missed a start. And
he's a guy who is very mobile and he takes
some hits, but he usually gets down. He usually never
takes the big hit. And even though you can make
the case that the clowney one was, it could have
been penalized or should be considered dirty. I do think
you have to identify that every single time he leaves

(18:03):
the pocket, Eagles fans should hold their breath because that's
when he's tended to get injured. That's when he's had
these issues. And so if he doesn't start realizing that
he can't keep holding, he can't keep holding on the football,
he's got to get rid of it, you know. On
time or early or if he does decide to take off,
which should be less moving on in the future. He

(18:23):
needs to get down, he needs the sliding, needs to
take care of himself and protect himself. And you know,
it's it's unfortunately you have to have this conversation with
him because he's a young player in this league. But
that's the truth. Like, that's the truth right now. What
we've seen from him is every single time he's gotten injured,
it hasn't been necessarily in the pocket. It's all been
times when he scrambled out of the pocket. He's been
running the football. Well, it's what Russell Wilson did. Russell Wilson,

(18:45):
it didn't take a catastrophic injury before him to realize,
all right, if I'm gonna last in the league, I
gotta I gotta maybe modify how I play to where
I can't just take off all the time. And he
learned to throw from the pocket. So when Russell Wilson
does run, now, doesn't it always feel like a big play?
Like he doesn't not as often as maybe he used to,
but it always feels like it's the perfect time and
and a big play. And he's never missed a start

(19:08):
like most durable quarterback in the NFL right now, most
durable right now, and all things consider, consider again, he
he does take some shots from time's he took some
hits tonight, and he he he tends to continue to
keep getting up time and time again because he's just
got that knack or that fuel for when to duck down,
when to get down, when to slide. I want to
get rid of the football. So if those guys are

(19:29):
gonna try to hit him, especially with the protection that
quarterbacks get, and I gotta be honest, I don't even
know that he gets as much protection as as like
the Tom Brady's, etcetera that are you know in the league,
but he usually gets rid of the football. So it
puts that defender in the bind where if you want
to risk it, you can try to see off on me,
but it's gonna be a late hit, it's gonna be
rough in the past, or you're gonna get penalized for it.

(19:50):
I think he does a really, really good job with that.
And Carson Wentz needs to take a page at the
Russell Wilson's playbook, and let's be honest here, It's not
like Russell Wilson has been blessed with the best offensive
lines in his career. You know, I mean, we're gonna
be truthful about it. It's gotten better, but you're right,
all right, So Jerry Jones, that crafty Jerry Jones. And
before we get into that announced what we do want
to let you know we have great news. There's a

(20:11):
quick and easy I could save money switched to Geico.
It only takes fifteen minutes to see if you could say,
fifteen center more on car insurance. Go to Geico dot
com and see how much you could save. Jerry Jones decided,
you know what, in the middle of an Eagles game,
all right, we're gonna make our decision on Jason Garrett,
and Whaila threw it out there. Not a big surprise
they're moving on from Jason Garrett. They've already had a
couple of interviews. Marvin Lewis reportedly in there, Mike McCarthy

(20:32):
reportedly in there. So it's official they're moving on from
Jason Garrett. I think we we always knew this was
on the horizon. But for what I mean again, it
had to do with the relationship between Jerry Jones and
Jason Garrett. You know, player assistant head coach. What twenty
years I think is is how long he's built with

(20:53):
the organization. So I think Jerry was having a hard
time figuring out how he wanted to say goodbye, and
that happens. All that being said, though I don't think
that's doing That's not Jason Garrett's best interest. But here's
what I think happened. Okay, And I don't even this
isn't like from a sources isn't or a report. I'm
just trying to play what I think was going on

(21:15):
in Jason Garrett's mind and why this took so long,
because this is the only thing that makes sense to me,
because otherwise nothing makes sense. I think Jason Garrett knew
that there's a strong likelihood that he was either gonna
be fired or they we're just gonna let his contract expire.
And I think after the season he went in and
he said to Jerry Jones, look, you know you're responsible

(21:35):
for some of this. You know we talked about this before,
but you know, Jerry Jones was the guy who didn't
want to extend him before the season, and he said, well,
if you're not gonna extend me, I want to call plays. Nope,
we're gonna hire you know, Kelly Moore. Let him call
it plays. Well, okay, But what happens if he has
some growing pains, what I haven't see struggles or have
some walls in the season like he did this year,
that that's on Jerry Jones. That's not Jason Garrett. So

(21:57):
I think he pleaded his case with some of the
off that he dealt with throughout the year. And then
I think he said that Jerry, you know what, go
ahead and interview other head coaching candidates. Go ahead, because
I think I'm the best guy for this job. I
think I'm the best guy for the Dallas Cowboys in
and so go ahead, interview Mike mccarth, the interview Marvin
Lewis or Lincoln Riley, whoever else. And if you think

(22:18):
they're better than I am, or you think there'd be
a better fit for this team's at and they can
win right now, so be it. But go ahead and
do that, because I think he looked around instead. Do
I really want to be the head coach at Carolina
if that opportunity came around, or the Giants or the Browns?
Probably not. Well, He's like, this is probably the best
job there is out there for any candidate that's that's

(22:39):
looking to take a head coaching job, at least in
my opinion. And I actually think Jason Garrett will never
be a coach in the NFL again. I think he
was thrown under the bus and made such a mockery
of this season that his entire reputation is shot. I really,
I firmly believe that that is the hottest of my
telling you of all times. And I can guarantee you
he will be a head coaching in the end, I

(23:00):
mark my words. He's young enough, he's got an eighty
five and sixties seven record, he's been he's won two
playoff games. He is a better candidate than you're giving
him credit. I agree. People will love him, players love him.
Look at look at social media, all those guys. That
is the most inaccurate thing, considering considering Josh McDaniels, who

(23:21):
was bashed by the media after leaving Denver and was
bashed by the media after Indianapolis colts Hey Jonas, who's
a really hot coaching candidate right now? Jason Garrett, Daniel
Josh Daniels. Okay, listen, I I agree. I've defended Jason Garrett.
I've I've said he's got one losing record, and he's

(23:42):
eighteen games over five hundred, and he's in the biggest season,
came with a backup court Hunter. I totally agree, and
Darren McFadden was his leading rusher. And I've defended Jason
Garrett this entire time. His owner makes it a pain
in the ass to coach for Everyone can talk about
loyalty and all the respect Jerry Jones ass form the
way that he treated this year, and the constant postgame
interviews and the constant two times a week interviews and

(24:04):
all that crapp he's had to deal with. Jason Garrett
dealt with a lot of garbage and a lot of
personalities and a lot of issues on his roster and
in his locker room, and never bitched about it, never
complained to the media. I've defended Jason Garrett, but I
think he's been made such a mockery of unfairly that
I don't think he's ever gonna get a shot again.
I really don't. I think he should, but I don't
ever think it's gonna happen again, because I think it

(24:26):
would look so bad Optically he was made out to
be such a clown by so many people that I
think that's a narrative they're run with. I swear to think.
You know how this works. You know how this works.
You take a year off, all of a sudden, people
forget about any of this. People have the worst memory. Okay,
everyone's got short sirm memory. Or you go on TV

(24:46):
for a bit. You know what happens when you go
on TV. Everyone falls in love with you because you
educate them and you inform them or talk about things
you know that that they didn't know before and introduced
stuff to him, and then they're like, you know what,
this guy would be a really good head coach. All right,
how about this? We need to put it Okay, we
need to put a limit on this so that we
actually can pay this within two years. Within two years,

(25:07):
I say, he's alright, what do you want to bet
on at Mastros? Mastros? Alright, Mastros your credit card? You
got a deal, all right, Brady Quinn Jonas. You know
about the one that looks just like a McDonald's, let's
go to that one instead. Which one is that? Well,
you know, there's h I'm not trying to call anybody

(25:27):
out here on the show. All right, never mind, alright,
so Brady Quinn, So we've got a bets. So we've
got a bet we can't announce, just going to He's
going to be there right ers coming. Well, if it's free,
bubble would be there. That's when Gascon, by the way, said,
he's already detecting me right now. He's coming on. Well,
he'll probably be. He's tagging on it. I'll probably be

(25:49):
writing up at that time. Um, alright, so within two years,
within two years, and so so lead the lab. Can
you keep proof of this? So January five two, alright,
January two, I say Jason Garrett will not be a
head coach in the NFL. Brady Quinn says he is.
And it's a mastro's bet. All right, you gotta late.
We're all good on that, all got it. So we

(26:10):
all get to go. No matter what come of this,
you're yeah, but Bobo and later in we don't know
that Jonas is in or not. We're still waiting. Listen, listen,
I'll be there and I'll be eating for free. I'm
telling you, Jason Garrett got the shaft this year. Because
let's get these uh let's get these underlying things. You're
not invited you you get an invitation from me. But

(26:31):
so so, why so he can steal the avocado toast
and ditch out like the last steal. Okay, it was
out look at his defense. It was laying there in
the middle of the table for probably fifteen minutes and
no one, no one laid hands on it. Yeah, then
why did he put it in his coat pocket? That's

(26:51):
not we stole it. Stole that avocados? Is bobo? Did
he like three four pc? He did? Of course he
did the one awarding alright. Uh Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox
here on Fox Sports Radio coming up next. Um it
is uh gotta you know, break out the violins, get
the tissues out. Somebody in the NFL is not happy.

(27:12):
I will have that for you next year on FSR.
But for all the latest from around the world of
sports ladies and gentlemen. He is a man of respect
and if you don't show him that respect, he will
rip it out of your damn hands. And his name
is Steve. To say, well, good, good evening. I think
the Cowboys officially parted ways with coach Jason Garrett and
Bear's guard Kyle Long has retired. He was a first
rounder in thirteen. He has tweeted tonight, I'm finally stepping

(27:34):
away and getting my body right. Some are taking that
as as a retirement. Seattle did win its playoff game
at Philadelphia seventeen to nine. Russell Wilson three five yards passing,
including a fifty three yard TV two DK metcalf Wilson
had nine carries in forty five yards. Tight end Zach Ertz,
with a broken rib, had two catches and the loss,
and quarterback Carson Wentz left early with a head injury.

(27:56):
Of course, these two teams had met during the regular season,
and Seattle wound up winning by geeh I think it
was seventeen to nine, Minnesota one in overtime at New
Orleans twenty to twenty. Tighten Kyle Rudolph with the game
winning touchdown cast on the first drive of the OT
Dalvin Cook with two touchdown runs. This Saturday, Minnesota at
San Francisco four thirty pm Eastern Time. Saturday Night, Tennessee

(28:18):
at Baltimore. Next Sunday, Houston at Kansas City three pm
Eastern Time, Then Seattle at Green Bay on Fox TV
six thirty PM Eastern time again next Sunday. The conference
title games are two weeks away the Super Bowls on
Fox TV from Miami. February. The second five NBA games
couple of finals, and the Clippers in l A today
held on to beat the next one thirty five, one

(28:41):
thirty two. Kawhi Leonard rested the Heat one again, beating
Portland on one eleven despite thirty four points from Damian
Lillard halftime. Timberwolves lead sixty sixty eight at Cleveland end
of the first quarter, Suns up thirty one twenty seven
over the Grizzlies and the late game still ninety minutes away.
The Lakers twenty eight and seven this year will be
hosting the Detroit Pistons. College basketball wins for Michigan State

(29:03):
and Dayton One Bowl game remains boy Monday night Miami
of Ohio against Louisiana set the DVR. The National Championship
game is a week from Monday, l s U against Clemson.
Jonas Knox, Brady Quinn back to you, we gotta wait
a week for that to win. Another week for the
National champion because Miami, Ohio and Louisiana are taking up
the time slot. You know what, it will still do

(29:25):
better ratings in an NBA game, just like, why why
do we need this much time? Actually, the Quick Lane
Bowl I think that was then Kent State game got
more than double ratings of the NBA that night. Of
course it did. But but don't worry about it. We're
all just haters, man. No, no, no, look guys, guys,
it's because of cord cutting. Okay, like that only applies

(29:47):
to the NBA. Apparently it's not all the other issues
that they're dealing with. Oh wait, that doesn't apply to
other sports. They're the only thing on television. Rights only
applies to the end, not like college football. By the way,
yesterday's playoff opener twenty six million viewers for the Bills
Texans over time, and then of course the Patriots were

(30:08):
in primetime. That was thirty one million years. I call
that the Josh Allen effect. That's what I call that,
all right, our guy, Josh Allenah, I love that, man.
I mean what a yes and an arm to um? Right.
We're company live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios,
where it's easy to say fift center more on car

(30:30):
insurance with Geico. Got a guy go to cover Call
seven Auto. The only hard part figuring out which way
is easier, all right, So we want to make sure
we've got the appropriate time for this. Uh break out
the tissues, get out the excuses. Uh that you know
who's our back and Brady Quinn and I will tell
you who that is next year on FS are Brady Quinn,

(30:51):
Jonas Knox Here on Fox Sports Radio as we come
to you alive from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Up the next hour, major changes for one NFL franchise.
We will dive into that about fifteen minutes from now
here on Fox Sports Radio. Brady Quinn, Um, let's uh

(31:13):
get out the tissues. Uh, get out the you know,
the the feel good stuff, get out the booze, whatever's
gonna take your mind off things. A familiar feeling for
people in New Orleans, which, by the way, before we
dive into that, somebody did write in on Twitter. Guy
writes in Knox chokes on his boy toys fat bleep

(31:33):
more than the Saints do in the playoffs. So I
don't know, I don't know if you would consider that
a choke by the New Orleans Saints. But what do
you make of that early tweet here into the show,
Brady Quinnet Knox and listen, I'll restate it again. Uh,
Knox chokes on his boy toys fat bleep more than

(31:54):
the Saints do in the playoffs. Yeah, I'm not sure
to take that. I think we have to start off
with the final play because that seems to be something
that I was always following the Saints. There's always controversy
and you know, some sort of crazy play. Do you
believe it was offensive past interference by Kyle Rudolph in

(32:16):
real time? No? If you slow it down, Uh, you
slow enough things down, you could think Kyle Rudolph was
a woman. I mean seriously, like, what is wrong with you?
Like in real time? Do you think that was a
push off? So I think this was. This is what
I came to the conclusion of. If they would have
called it offensive past interference and went to review, it
wasn't getting overturned. Yeah, they would have. You know, the

(32:38):
game would have continued if since they didn't call it.
When I went to review, I was thinking there wasn't
enough to overturn it. So here's where I'm at right
because we're now in the postseason and this is they
can't do it now. But because we've instituted the rule
and the rule hasn't worked out the way we thought
it was going to, this is my solution to fix
it all moving forward. Okay, it's it's quite simple. Let's

(33:00):
forget about what the call was on the field. Okay,
moving forward, we we we implement replay in this way,
forget about what the call was on the field, reofficiate
the player, yes, that way, will no longer be outraged
or will no longer feel like whether it's Al Riveran
or the replay officials, no one's gonna feel like they

(33:22):
have to get to a certain burden of proof, right,
a certain burden of proof. We will be able to
definitively in that situation, utilizing replay, go back and say,
you know what he did push off? Did the offensive
player gain an advantage to catch the football for the

(33:42):
game winning score based on replay? Yes, he did. It's
offensive past interference. We don't give a crap what was
called on the field. That's why I went to review,
because there we felt like they got it wrong, and
they did. Okay, that's how you solve it. I hope
that at some point get to that point with replay
because I think it would it would help us be

(34:03):
less outraged by all of these calls that don't get
overturned because they have to meet a certain burden of
evidence there that it was or was not a penalty.
That's my solution to it all. And now after the game,
of course, because it's a New Orleans Saints, they were
going to be asked about it. So here was the
Q and A with Sean Payton regarding another late, uh

(34:25):
non call in a game involving the Saints in the
postseason on the last play. You know, listen, Um, that wasn't.
I didn't. I didn't really, I didn't see any officials.
I saw Mike, we chatted for a little bit, and
I saw some of the other players we coached in

(34:46):
the Pro Bowl and congratulated them and they did a
good job. They played well. Now a little behind the
scenes here, Um, that was supposed to be violins underneath. Unfortunately, uh,
the piano kind of stole the show there, So, uh,
you know, a botch attempt at at some ball busting
of the New Orleans Saints here on Fox Sports Radio.
But again, I'm gonna take responsibility for Brady because I'm

(35:06):
an honest man. Can I just say this, I actually
enjoyed the piano better if I do too, if we
pick between the two, I'm glad it was a piano. Listen,
it's why they call me Jonas von Beethoven Um that Yeah,
that is uh, you know, that's just been a name
that I've walked around with for for many years, Brady Quinn.
But I would like take responsibility for it. So if
you want to yell at me, you can do so

(35:28):
at Aaron bobo Ar Now that's where you can find
me on Twitter. It is my responsibility to make sure
that we have that. Yeah, absolutely all right. So here's
here's the more important thing. Because now the game's over
and we can all cry about the call we want
and the Saints have done a masterful job bitching the
last two years and complaining and crying that the that
by the way, that's it's it's pathetic, like well you

(35:52):
can call it pathetic or like the optimists or the
you know, the positive side of me likes to say,
if you're gonna be great at something, you know, be
the best. Just try to go out and be the best.
They are. They are by far away the best about bitching. Absolutely.
Here's here's a little a little spitting of the truth
for Saints fans out there, and you're ready for the
hot take. I get ready to fight this lead to

(36:12):
lap form it up. Here we go. Here's your hot take.
Drew Brees with was the third best quarterback on the
field on Sunday. That is a hot take, and it's
a fact. I'm gonna say that it wasn't wrong. I was.
You know, you can look at the numbers and at
certain points I was kind of thinking, you know, the
balls moving better when Taysom Hill's back there. No kidding.

(36:36):
I don't think that the Saints are that far away
by the way of being able to do what the
Ravens are doing. I think when you look at their
offensive lines, some of their pieces they get. Now the
person who would be impacted the most, and maybe maybe
if Drew Brees, who's gonna be said to be a
free agent, And I don't think he's necessarily gonna move
on from the Saints, but he could potentially go elsewhere
if he wanted to after this year. But I would

(36:57):
say this, the person will be in back then most
is Michael Thomas. And maybe that's why they made such
a deliberate effort this year to make sure he got
the single season receptions record, because if they go to
what Baltimore is doing, there's no chance that he's ever
gonna see even close to that record. Again. However, he
would probably lead the yard the league in yards per completions.
He still would probably have some big plays yards and touchdowns,

(37:20):
but it would it would come at a much, you know,
lesser pace. But bottom line, the way Taysom Hill can
change the game because of his athleticism and his versatility,
I got the feeling that when he came in the game,
more positive things were gonna happen. Breeze seems skittish. He didn't,
you know, seem to be able to handle some of

(37:42):
the pressure and really able to work through some of
his progressions. Even his arm didn't look like it had
the same amount of juice or zipped to it too
that I was accustomed to seeing, you know, So so again,
I just it's tough to acknowledge that. But we're also
talking about a future Hall of Famer who's getting closer
to the end of his But and here's the thing,
he had what five games off this year, so it's

(38:03):
not like he played a full workload. He had five
games off this year, and the thought was, well, you know,
maybe this is gonna be a blessing in disguise. He's
gonna he's gonna come in with all this extra rest
and we're not going to see the same fatigue issues.
I saw the same fatigue issues. It's now too playoff
games in a row that Drew Brees has been outplayed.
He was outplayed by Jared Goff down the stretch in
that game last year in the NFC title game, and

(38:24):
he was outplayed by both Kirk Cousins and his own
teammate Taysom Hill. I know everybody wants to do hands
across America and let's all kiss Drew Brees ass here
as God forbid. We want to be critical of him.
But if we're gonna be critical of Tom Brady and
how he's showing his age and all this and that,
I mean, you give Tom Brady what Drew Brees has
had around him, what are we talking about now? Like

(38:46):
I know nobody wants to do it, God forbid, because
he's such such a great guy. Drew Brees, God forbid,
I'm telling you, man, he didn't look good. If it's
Tom Brady in that same spot, people would be ripping
him to shreds right now, saying he should retire, and
he doesn't know that it's time to move on. But
for some reason, Drew Brees gets a free pass. I
don't get it. Well, you know, Drew Brees hasn't been

(39:07):
a part of some of the stuff that's that's got on.
I mean, bounty gate, for example, was the defensive side
of the ball, wasn't offense, even though you know, I'm
sure they were aware of it to some degree. Um
And I think the differences it was a record setting
year from Michael Thomas, Drew Brees was a part of that.
You know, he's still had um, you know, a high

(39:28):
completion percentage of high passer rating. I mean, he's he's
still playing at a really, really really high level. And
so I think that's the issue is, you know, you
can look at this one game and try to act
like it tells the story of the entire season. I
don't know that if that's accurate. But I think if
you go back the last year's playoffs and you watch
Drew Breese play in those moments, you started to see

(39:50):
a little bit then, and so I don't know if
it's just the season starting to kind of bear down
on him, or maybe it's it's just more of the
fact that he's at the end of his career and
he knows it, and he understands how precious these moments
and these opportunities are, and so maybe that's part of it. Yeah,
there's there's a lot of conversation that we had involving
Drew Brees and Sean Payne. We've got more coming up
next to here on FSR. Well, it could be the

(40:12):
end of an era in the National Football League. We
will get to that here coming up in just a
couple of moments. That guy over there is Brady Quinn.
I'm Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio. You can

He is the pride of Dublin, Ohio. He was a
stud at Notre Dame, and he is the commander in

(40:55):
chief every single time. I hate when you do this, Jeff,
some r everybody you have, come on, well, what's wrong
being your hype man. I'm trying to but you know,
ball washing here on Fox Sports Radio a little bit, Bobo,
since you have more experience with hype man, I would
like you to explain to Jonas why it's not good
to have a hype man. I'm trying to figure out

(41:16):
how I have more experience. I didn't know that racial
connotation a little bit. Oh, come on, both, but we've
had a conversation about this before we have yeah, yeah, see,
I don't know why you always forget things like this. Okay, Um,
I like having hype man. I don't get the point
like I like the fact that Jonas hypes his friend up.

(41:37):
So I kind of have to decide with one. Okay,
all right, I guess when when one for Jonas the
rest of my life. He's showing all your accolades, like
you noticed my man, Jonas first round draft pick play
for Notre Dame NFL. We don't need you doing it too,
And so I'm talking about can we get can we

(41:57):
get to the conversation? Can even one? And if you
wanted to join it, it make it sound that much better.
Lee does shot down that aisle, So alright, Uh, you know,
different strokes for different folks. By the way, speaking speaking

(42:20):
of hype man, Guy writes in on Twitter, Joni likes
needle D's since that he's I can't read the rest
of that, alright, but you get that is the end
of reading Twitter. Yeah, we'll go ahead and leave that alone,
all right. So Brady quinn uh here on Fox Sports Radio. Um,
let's get into it. Everybody has got a hot take
out there. Everybody is firing away. Everybody is laughing at

(42:42):
the perceived dead body that is the New England Patriots
on the runway of the National Football League. So here
we go. Let's let's discuss the Patriots. Uh, they lose
to the Titans. Tom Brady's finished. The dynasty's over. Everybody
clapping and celebrate, just showcasing the fact that they were
the Patriots doormatch for the last two decades. But here

(43:05):
we are. Your thoughts on what happened. Oh boy. Um, so,
I'm gonna be honest with you. I was surprised the
game went the way it did. I did think Tennessee
would score some points. I thought Derrick Henney would run
the football because Mike Rabel is stubborn in a good way,
you know, but he really wants to hammer home a point.

(43:25):
I do think you have to wonder if this could
potentially be it. Right, Tom Brady, for the first time
in his career, is going to be an unrestricted free
agent after this year. Now, I get it, it doesn't
matter he turns forty three in August. Who cares, um,
because he's probably he's gonna come back. He's probably gonna
come back and play with the Patriots. You're right, But

(43:45):
what happens if Josh McDaniels is in the play caller?
And when you start looking at this roster, it's a
it's an aging roster. It's one of the older rosters
in the NFL. When you consider both mccordy's mccordy twins
are what two thirty three, Ben Watson's thirty nine, Patrick
chu Chung's thirty two. Um, you know, I think Cannon's

(44:08):
up there in Age as well. Tuny is gonna be gone,
Van Noi is gonna be gone. Both those guys probably
gonna leave in free agency. Mohammedson new in the second
round pick for him didn't really work out. Edelman's thirty
three by the way, he's getting up there in Age. Um,
you know Nikkill Harry their first round pick that hasn't
really panned out either. So when you start looking at
everything and and how this could potentially you know, look

(44:30):
in t yeah, man, like if if Tom Brady did
decide to go somewhere else, and again, I don't think
he's going to. I think if you're Bill Belichick and
you're Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots, you're rebuilding.
You you are in rebuild mode one hundred percent because
this roster is so old, like you kind of gave
it that final go of it. That's why you try

(44:51):
to sign Antonio Brown to help replace the production lost
by Rob Gronkowski. Um. But as far as that decision
goes in regards to Tom Brady, what the future holds,
it comes down to two people. Other people will play factors. Okay,
Bill Belichick will be a factor, just Zel will be
a factor. But it comes down to Tom Brady and
Robert Craft. If you're Robert Craft, and we've already seen

(45:14):
this battle before and tom Brady one Jimmy Garoppolos now
the starting quarterback for the forty Niners who are playing
in the Vision around next week, So we we've already
seen that battle one once before. We know what Robert
Craft's allegiance is. It's in tom Brady's corner. And so
if that's the case, you have to be you have
to be saying yourself, He's not gonna let the greatest
quarterback of all time leave as an unrestricted free agent

(45:38):
and go finish his career elsewhere. I just have a
hard time seeing that happening, even though there are teams
who are probably gonna pursue him or try to talk
him and do it, who have better rosters to win now,
who may be looking for tom Brady's services, or maybe
you want to give that a try all out of
the Kansas City Chiefs with Joe Montana, so you know
there could be opportunities out there for him. I just

(45:59):
I can't see Robert Kraft letting him walk out the door.
And if I'm Tom Brady, why do I like, do
I want to finish my career somewhere else? Like, do
do I want to be, you know, remembered as Michael
Jordan with the with the Wizards at the end of
his career, or do I want to be remembered as
Tom Brady and finishing my career with one scene in
the New England Patriots. My thought on the Brady stuff
is one, I still think he can play. I don't

(46:21):
think he looks. Look he made throws down the field
where it seemed like he had plenty of zip on
the ball. It wasn't, you know. I mean, is he
the same player he was five six years ago? Probably not,
But I still think he could play. This isn't This
is nowhere close to what Peyton Manning was in his
final year, not even close. And I was thinking about
that watching the game to where Peyton Manning it was
obvious that it was he was really he was running

(46:43):
on fumes. I don't get that same impression with Tom Brady.
I still think that he can throw. I still think
he can make plays. He's never been a mobile quarterback.
It feels like he can still give it a go.
And the fact that teams would make him an offer
just goes to show you, yeah, he can still play
some on I just I think if he's not gonna

(47:04):
be leaving, I think this's for the first time in
his career he's at least open to the idea of
life after the Patriots. I think he's at least open
to it. I would still lean towards, you know, after
you know, the game yesterday and all that, of him
returning to New England because it would be such a
big time move. But I do think he would be
open to something if they couldn't come to terms with

(47:24):
the Patriots, because I don't think he wants to retire. Okay,
So in regards to this performance, there's no doubt like
Tom Brady obviously is more often than not the reason
they won the six Super Bowls. It's football is the
ultimate team sport. But he the majority of the time
is is the reason why they won all of those.
He surely is not the reason why they lost this
year in the playoffs or as any of the issues. Okay,

(47:46):
is he the same player he once was? No, but
this team is drastically worse around him, and he got
sacked I believe what six more times at least in
the regular season. If you start to look at a
supporting cast, you're gonna struggle to find anyone outside of
Edelman that he really had consistent production from um And
what I think they really missed because Edelman did what

(48:08):
he normally does, kind over a thousand balls, had a
ton of targets hunter receptions in the regular season. They
didn't have that complimentary piece where you know, Josh Gordon
for a little bit of time actually was okay. But
it's it's why they went after Antonio Brown. But if
you go back and look at what they missed out
on not having Chris Hogan, what they missed out on,
not having Gronk and the guys who were kind of
those complimentary pieces to Edelman and even Josh Gordon last year,

(48:31):
that's what they were missing. Like I said, nik Kill,
Harry never really panned out to be what they thought
he would. You know, Philip dor set to some degree help,
but that wasn't quite what they needed. Sony Michelle had
a way down year compared to last year, and when
that was more of a product of the offensive line.
And look, that's what happens when you lose your starting
center and then you lose your backup center for a
period of time too, and you gotta mixer in some
other pieces. Isaiah wind was banged up. I mean, don't

(48:53):
don't get me wrong. They went through a lot of
issues that I think played a pardon in him not
having his best season. But it he played pretty damn well,
and especially for forty two years old. So he is
the last issue that they have, you know. To me,
it's everything else. And that's the hard thing when you
look at this roster, and that's why I brought their age.
When you look at the rest of the roster, you're going,
I don't know, man, Like they're getting up there in age,

(49:15):
like this is becoming a team that like they can't
stretch the field vertically, they have no speed. They need youth,
They need speed. They need to they need to bring
in some juice to this offense. They need to figure
out how they can you know, find better. You know
better edge rush is more talented players, like they have
let some guys go that I think. You can't tell me.
If Channel Jones wasn't there, they couldn't have used nineteen

(49:37):
sacks this year, or Trey Flowers, who's been a nice
complimentary piece Like, I just I don't buy that, and
I know they've made those decisions in the past, but
for what for what I mean, Look, a Mandola would
have been a much needed help this year because when
when he did play, especially when uh Marvin Jones went
out for the Lions, Amundola made plays with it with

(49:57):
a third string quarterback or a backup quarterback there and Detroit,
so Amon Doola would have been an upgrade Chris Hogan.
Um they let him walk. Um Hollister didn't It wasn't
a Hollister traded, didn't they trade Jacob Like? So, yeah,
there's been I That's why I it's easy to pinpoint
Brady and to laugh at Brady and say, oh my god,
he's over the hill. I I just I don't buy that.

(50:19):
I think he's gotten older, but I look at him playing,
I go, I think that guy can still play. Here's
the question I have for you. If Josh McDaniels does
take a gig and say it's the Browns or the
Giants or whoever, and he and he takes off and
then they decided to move on from Brady and they
go full rebuild, how much longer is Belichick can even
be there. I don't think Belichick wants to wants to

(50:39):
sit through a rebuild. I don't think he's going to
be coaching for that long to want to see this
thing all the way through. I'm telling you right now.
It's one of the reasons why if I was Dallas,
if I was the Giants, because I think those are
the only two teams and organizations with their ownership or
the cachet of the you know, Dallas Cowboys, and given
all the resources, why not? Why not? Asked Bill Belichick.

(51:01):
He's always the nick Saban. He's always had a soft
spot for the Giants. Um. There was a documentary they
did on him talking about Belichick and when he went
back to the Meadowlands before they moved to MetLife, he
got emotional talking about all the time he spent in
there with Bill Parcels and the coaching staff there. He
loved the Giants organization and still has a ton of

(51:22):
respect for him. And so that's why the Giants have
always been rumored, like, what if there was an opportunity
to go back there, would he take it? I think
there's no better time than now for him to jump
and make that move, because I just don't know that
he wants to deal with a full fledged rebuild in
New England because if Brady leaves and McDaniel's leaves, they
could be really bad. There's no the whole thing needs

(51:44):
turned over. Yes, I mean literally flipped on its head again,
considering all all the granted experience and and great experience.
Do you think about all the players Matthew Slater, by
the way, another guy said to become a free agent.
He's up there in age. You know, core special teamers.
I know that doesn't matter a lot of people out there,
but it does. It makes a huge difference in a
special teams game to a lot of people, and obviously

(52:05):
even at times as a complimentary wide receiver when they
need it. Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here on Fox Sports Radio.
You can check out the show on the I Heart
Radio app as we come to you live here from
the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. All right, coming up next, Uh,
somebody in the NFL finally gets a revenge. But if
you've listened to this show, we told you this, We
told you this months ago about one NFL player. Find

(52:29):
out who it is next here an fs are still
no word from a live bet Jesus, I don't know
whether or not he's going to show up. Football season
is over, um, but doesn't mean maybe kished off terrible
in in the NFL. Anyway, Well, he was six and
nine on the air. Oh I don't think that's well
he's six and night. Well do you think he's gonna
brag about or if I were him, do you think

(52:49):
I would brag about just those two numbers for a
certain reasons? Okay, well, you know, not everybody's mind is
in the gutter. Uh. Not everybody thinks like Rob Gronkowski,
although will say this, him spiking that Steve Harvey lego
set one of the most wonderful things I've seen. Uh,
And Steve Harvey's reaction was brilliant. I just hysterical, And

(53:11):
I hope those guys do more work together. Steve Harvey
can't do any wrong, Kenny like at this point, he
could pretty much mess up anything. It's like that, Steve,
It's what he does. I love him, I love it.
I think it's great. All right, So let's uh, you know,
I was watching this, um this Saints game. By the way,
Vikings plus eight, as pointed out on Knox Locks, this

(53:32):
past weekend, Brady Quinn was a bank heist, a bank heist,
a thievery. Vikings plus eight was easy money, baby, easy money?
Do you want the other? The other one was obviously Tennessee? Yeah,
I believe was that a ten point spread? I mean
no Tennessee. No, hell no Patriots minus four and a
half to five and a half in certain place. Which

(53:54):
was which one was the double digit? There were no
double digits. Um, Texans were two and point favorite over
the bill next week? Maybe is that Kansas City, Tennessee?
Next week? I haven't seen the lines next week, but
but that'll be coming out next week. I would assume Baltimore,
Tennessee is the biggest line. Yeah, well yeah, Baltimore, Tennesse. Yeah.

(54:16):
So again, I haven't seen those lines. I'm not really
up on the gambling thing. It's not really my thing,
just saying, all right, So so, Brady Quinn, Um, we
tried to tell people this months and months ago. Now
this has been stolen by other people who don't want
to give us the due credit for it, but we
tried to tell you that the Kirk Cousins big game

(54:37):
thing isn't really all that accurate. It's the time slot
he's in because when Kirk Cousins plays in the one
pm Eastern time time slot, he's pretty damn good and effective,
and the numbers show it. It's when he gets into
the later games or the Thursday night or the Monday
night that he has his issues or the Sunday night
games when he has his issues. And and I talked

(54:57):
about it, and we we broke down the numbers, like
he has discussed, how he's got everything routined, he's got
an Excel spreadsheet, he's got everything mapped out. And and
in doing our research and looking this stuff up, we
realize it's not the game or the significance of the game,
it's the time slot. Which is why seeing them playing

(55:17):
the one pm Eastern time time slot at New Orleans
and they're getting eight points was, as mentioned earlier, a
bank heist. It was a pit pocketing to the sports
books across the country. Now, Kirk Cousins, who's heard a
lot of this heat. Uh, he spoke afterwards to his
teammates in the locker room. Here's how it sounded. Hey,

(55:44):
that's how we've won all year team. Right, you held him, man,
you get it. There's a chance at the end, I
got three words for you. You like, yeah, there he
is Kirk there. That's how you do it. Great, that's
how you get revenge. I love that. I don't like that.
I love them. That is revenge. It's not just on um,

(56:04):
you know, going back to Washington Redskins, his days there,
it's it's all the media. It's all the naysayers. It's
all the people who didn't believe in Kirk Cousins when
he plays at one o'clock. Okay, it's all those people,
and we we are not a part of that group.
We've been behind him the whole way. When when I
had depict this game this past week, you know what
I said, you know what I said. I said this.

(56:26):
I said in Minnesota and the points, but New Orleans
will probably win close. So I got that part wrong.
But you know, again, betting man, I would have taken
the points in Minnesota dent because I knew Kirk Cousins
was gonna keep it close. However, however, he did come
up a little bit short in a prop that that
I loved in this game that you know, I'll be
honest with it. I thought it was a bad one.

(56:48):
He r under for yards and a half. He went
under early at two forty two. I thought there might
be some garbage time where he falls back into it.
But the problem was they actually lad for a fair
amount of this games. Because of that, I think Mike
Zimmer put the handcuffs on him. And they had a
little bit conservative with Kevin Stefanski. Their play called by
the way, Kevin Stefanski, who if he grows his hair out,

(57:08):
we're talking to werewolf, all right, He's got the facial hair.
Some people have said there's a lot of similarities between
him and me. I don't see it personally, but that
has been thrown out there. If you've not seen Kevin Stefanski,
I just put a wig on him, uh and then
try and find a silver bullet because he looks like
a werewolf. He does. But that being said Brady Quinn,
So kirk Cousins down the stretch made some big time throws,

(57:32):
this whole dink and dunk and he's scared to throw
it deep. The throw to thelen was on the money. Um,
the throw to Uh to Rootolf was on the money.
Like they trusted him in big time spots when he
had to make big time throws and he outplayed Drew
Brees like I'm I'm legitimately happy for the guy. He's
he's gotten his balls broken constantly, like by people talking

(57:52):
about this big game stuff, and he actually showed up
and showed out in this game. And that being said,
I love the forty Niners next week because it's a
fourth at the Eastern Timetimes. Sorry, hey, look it's a
cold world out there. We don't next we do? We do?
And I think I think the other difference is it's um.

(58:13):
I would say a better defense. I would say with
the injuries that the Saints have sustained, No Sheldon Rankins,
no Marcus davenpoor Cam Jordan's phenomenal, but he can really
only do so much. UM. And then there were some
other holes. But you know, and really it wasn't so
much the Saints defense. It was the lack of productivity
from the offense. I think that was the thing that

(58:34):
surprised me most. Like when you looked at that game,
when you looked at the Saints offense, it just felt
like they had a hard time getting anything going. Like
if I would have told you that not Alvin Kamara,
not Letsavius Murray, yet Taysom Hill was gonna be leading rusher.
Would you have believed me? I mean technically had a
better quarterback gritting than Breezed it with the one for
one for fifty yards. So I just you know, looking

(58:58):
at looking at you know how Asom Hill impacted that game.
It's like I kind of wish they would have got
on the football more, but that an offense just really
struggled to get going and and get give credit to
Mike Zimmer and the defense. I thought they did a
good job, but I just I kind of came away disappointed.
That's not the Saints offense that I expected in this match.
I really thought it hit over and it was underwhelmingly

(59:19):
under not only for the first half with the missfield
goal by Will lutts Um, but but even for the
entire over under for the game. How many teams have
a better roster than Minnesota, Like they are loaded. I'm
watching him and I'm thinking they are and they're not.
I mean, they're their secondaries banged up. They didn't have
Mike Cues, they didn't have Mackenzie Alexander, but I mean
Dalvin Cook feeling Digs who Digs was well, they didn't

(59:40):
target him much and we can see his frustration in
that game. And and by the way, I'm kind of
off the theland bandwagon, like good player. You know, he's
gotta make some of those catches, and he's he has
a hard time separating. It's just you know, when all
of a sudden you put one of the better cornerbacks
on him, he's he struggles a bit. And I think
the turn over early in the game has fumble. You know,

(01:00:02):
with the hit put on him by generous Jenkins, it
goes to show you. I mean, it could have been
a game changing point. Ended up not hurt again in
the end, but it definitely made it close and than
it needed to be. Um, you think Jerry Jones hits
up Sean Payton. Dude, If I'm Jerry Jones, I literally
call any and everyone that I think would be the
next best head coach for the Cowboys. But here's the problem.

(01:00:26):
I think you've got to be concerned if you bring
someone who doesn't have head coaching experience in the NFL,
because there's gonna be a learning curve. I don't care
how experienced they are as a head coach, there's gonna
be a learning curve. And is that going to hold
them back from being able to reach the playoffs, which
reach a super Bowl in this two three year window
where they've got some pieces under contract, They've got a
lot of talent. That's the question you have to ask yourself. Yeah,

(01:00:47):
and it's a good point you brought up. But I
thought about that with the Urban Meyers stuff, eating like,
no matter what, there's always that adjustment, right, and you've
seen everyone could go all But what about Jimmy Johnson.
If people forget Jimmy Johnson came in and they cleaned house,
I mean herschel Walker was traded. It was all about
acquiring draft picks. Um and Jimmy Johnson was familiar with
the college game, and that was that was a full

(01:01:08):
blown rebuild. They were one in fifteen. They were terrible.
This feels like they're in wind now mode, which I
think makes the higher that much more interesting. Which is
why a guy like Sean Payton, who Jerry Jones loves,
who was in Dallas. Mike Zimmer's name was thrown out
there also want to sit in Dallas if if the
Vikings parted ways, was Zimmer for whatever reason that was
the name out there, And then you brought up Belichick like,

(01:01:30):
why why not, you know, kick the tires on some
of these and see if you can bring somebody in.
If you're Jerry Jones that's got a big time name
that can deal with your garbage and and is looking
to win. Now, I just I don't know if a
college coach or a Matt Rule or somebody like that
makes it makes the most sense in the world. Well,
I think Matt Rules going to the Giants, I think
that just makes a ton of sense. He was there

(01:01:51):
formerly as an assistant. I think that's who they really want,
and they weren't too happy with how he handled things
this past week after the loss and the Sugar Bowl.
He just says, no, I'm gonna take some time off.
I'm gonna go to Mexico vacation. And then he comes
back from it, and then they've kept interviewing candidates. But
I think he's the guy that they really want. And
so his interview I believe is coming up Tuesday, and

(01:02:13):
and so I would be shocked if they move on
from him and don't end up hiring him after the fact.
Even though they should ask Bill Belichick, they should talk
to Nick Saban, they should talk to whoever they think
hack Jason Garrett, why not bring him in? Like what
harm doesn't do as an organization, Picking Jason Garrett's brain
about everything about the Dallas Cowboys like that is intel,

(01:02:36):
that is priceless, and that's a team within your division.
So why wouldn't you try to figure out how you
could improve your organization and use it against one of
your division foes. It makes too much sense to me.
So you know, the process won't probably be drawn out
quite as far. But heck, man, if Jason Garrett's out there,
bring him in, talk to him, see what he knows,
See what he can tell you. Whether you end up

(01:02:58):
making him the guy or not, at least you get
something from that. But you know, again, it will probably
get decided this week. Brady Quinn Jonas Knox here on

cash back Match. Alright, so we've got an answer to
a controversial play from earlier today in the NFL. We'll
have that for you next year on fs ARE, but
for all the latest from around the world of sports.
Roll out that red carpet in your ears and shut
the hell out because he's Steve Disager. By the way
Brady's point, Al Davis in that situation would do that,
and you know Belichick in that situation would do that.

(01:03:39):
That seems like a no brainer to do that. I
love it, right, Like it isn't that kind of what
you want? Like, isn't that kind of the sexy stuff
that you want? This kind of your disaga when you've
got the different head coaching vacancies and people kind of
go behind enemy lines. That's and they're treating it like that.
Those two guys they had long NFL careers that they
always treated like enemies like it's well, I mean the

(01:04:00):
Belichick documentaries of he in his own words, has said
that type of thing. But yeah, Al Davis was like
that as well. As far as the odds for next weekend,
Chiefs favored by seven over the Texans, forty nine by
eight over the Vikings, Ravens by nine and a half
over the Titans on pregame dot Com. No line yet
for the game on Fox TV next Sunday, Seattle at

(01:04:20):
Green Bay, six thirty pm Eastern Time. Yeah, that's a
question for the guy you work with on Monday. I
guess not really me on Sunday. Steve yes, for him,
he controls the page. Seattle won at Philadelphia seventeen to nine.
Russell Wilson three twenty five yards passing, including a fifty
three yard t D two. DK metcalf and Wilson had
nine carries forty five yards on the ground Minnesota one

(01:04:42):
in overtime. Twenty six twenty at New Orleans, the Saints,
in defeat, missed a forty three yard field goal attempt
end of the first half, and Drew Brees fumbled late
in regulation when they were in field goal range. Breeze
was asked about that and said the fumble was really
frustrating because there was a missed communication as to what
we were doing. The bolsh itold have been out of
my hands, and all of a sudden, that wasn't the
route that was run, and so now I'm just trying

(01:05:04):
to throw the ball in the turf and avoid a
sac and as my hands going backus and it's correct.
There is everybody there he is. He said, I'm really
disappointed and that never should have happened there he is.
You know what, God, what a fraud. I I'm so
I'm so sick of it. Like, is that the same

(01:05:25):
guy who stayed in late in the game so Teddy
Bridgewater couldn't hit his uh, his contract and arter million dollars?
The guy who had to go in at thirty five
to three after halftime like you needed that third quarter drive?
Unbelievable man, both contracts finishing right, Breeze and Bridgewater. Yeah, yeah, NBA,
we have five games Clippers in Miami. One today and

(01:05:47):
right now it is Minnesota with four minutes left up
one oh five nineties seven at Cleveland, late third quarter,
Grizzlies leading at Phoenix seventy five. Lakers started a half
an hour and seven record for l A. They'll be
hosting the Sistan's tonight. In college basketball, there's a game
on FS one right now, seven and a half minutes
to go in the Big Ten at Illinois the line

(01:06:07):
I lead thirty four over per Due and coming up
next on FS one USC at Washington. Back to you,
thanks Steve, Coming to Live here from the Geico Fox
Sports Radio studios, where it's easy to say. Center more
on car insurance with Geico. Go to Geico Comical eight
nine point seven Auto. The only hard part figuring out
which way is easier. We do have an answer to
a very questionable play from earlier today in the NFL.

(01:06:30):
I do want to let you know, Brady Um, I
bet Jesus is sent a tweet. Yeah, okay, it's not
Can we get to that some other time. I know,
some other time for sure, because we have to we
have stuff we need to get to now. I'm just
staying about January thirty second. We could absolutely do it
on January thirty second. I'm just letting you know. I'm

(01:06:51):
just letting you know that our four, we'll get our four.
What do you think he's going a bet on there's
no football? Maybe that's a good thing. He was so
bad this year. It's gonna be FOOTBA like another country,
like is there Italian football? Like Australia? I mean, who's
up right now? What's the time zone over there in Sydney?
Have you ever been on Indian Premier League cricket? I
mean I haven't hold on, hold on, let me let

(01:07:12):
me think about that. I'm just saying, can I get
a clock? Is it possible to get a clock? Why
contemplate the amount of times I've been on Indian cricket before. Um,
I guess we're not getting that clock anytime soon away. Um,
let me just think about this. We'll give you ten seconds.
How about that? Will give you ten seconds? Full? Ten
seconds here on Fox Sports. Rade here trying to think

(01:07:33):
about two years ago? It was maybe it was two
years ago in a week and no, no, that was
when I got groceries that day. Um, you know what
I actually I've found this out. I've never bet on
Indian crickets. Well, I'm not sure how it's played. Well
I haven't either. All I'm gonna say is, um, the
New Delhi dared Devil's minus five and a half again. Yeah,

(01:07:58):
the New Delhi Daredevils. That sounds like a risky name.
New Delhi Daredevil's. That's a that's a true story. The
New Delhi Dared something like Indian dog Shop. It's I'm
telling you like it. That's a real And they actually
I think they followed me on Twitter for a short time,
but who knows. They I sort of cod at the

(01:08:19):
New Delhi Daredevils. I'm not making that up. They actually
followed me on Twitter for a short time. I don't know,
I don't I don't know if there's still in existence.
I just know that that happened. Like, Twitter is a
weird place, you know. Sometimes you know, people stick up
for themselves and then other times Mike Flory, I mean, uh,
some people get offended by things and there are too sensitive.

(01:08:40):
You know, it's never quite sure how uh sensitive football,
I mean pro football talk works. All right, So sorry,
I get the names confused. All right. There's a lot
of things going on. Information overlocking one. Good for you,
Richard Sherman, good for you. Love it. That's a whole
other story. Yeah, absolutely, I want to hear any story though.
What's that? So once again the Saints, they're surrounded by

(01:09:04):
controversy because the final play of the game, right, A
lot of people feel like it was offensive pass interference
by Kyle Rudolf the side end for the Minnesota Vikings
pushing off of P J. Williams now The call in
the field was a touchdown. It did go to review
replay officials. The folks back in New York, Al River
n they did not deem that Kyle Rudolph gained advantage

(01:09:25):
with the one arm push off. And actually, after the game,
NFL referee Shan Smith's response to a poor reporter question
on excuse you, this is like an entirely different game.
But let's just scratch that. There was two controversial plays.
There was the Rudolph push off and the Clowney r
correct and the Rudolph push off. I don't have right
down for you, but I do have response for the

(01:09:46):
hit on Carson. But but since you start the Rudolf
push off, um Al Rivern to someone up basically said
it wasn't egregious enough to call it either way. That
there was that there was contact on both players and
it wasn't a gregious enough so so that this is
what I take from that, and and and then, and
I would say, more often than not, all right, if
you're a tight end, if you're a receiver and you

(01:10:09):
use two hands to push off, you're gonna get caught
every time. Usually they get away with one. And I
think the tough part of this one is into the
point of our river. N there was contact, one initiated
by the defensive player, and once both sides were making
contact and kind of hand fighting in that instance. I

(01:10:29):
don't think the officials or replay wants to interject and
then make a controversial call when they feel like, you know,
maybe there could have even been defensive holding earlier on
on that play. So they just let them both play
it out and the outcomes the outcome. Now here's the
interesting part. When you've got such a bigger player in
Kyle Ruff who was six five six six ten or

(01:10:52):
fifty pounds and p J. Williams, who I don't even
know if he's six ft and he's probably around two pounds.
You know that push off And Ronnie Harrison said it
for NBC. He talked about being a smaller player and
now it doesn't take much to gain an advantage as
a bigger player on a smaller defender like that. He says.
They may not seem like much, but it does make

(01:11:12):
the difference between a catch and incompletion or the defender,
you know, maybe getting his hands on the football, he says,
And that's all that's all you need. And I think
it is interesting because it does make you relate to
like Lebron James, he a lot of times is bigger
than a lot of the players he goes up against
and and even Shock. You know, he has to get
hacked all the time, and people would say they don't
get the same treatment as other players, and so I

(01:11:34):
can see where, you know, you kind of come to
this crossroads. It's hard to determine, like what advantage of
bigger player is going to get off of that, because
it doesn't look like much, but in reality, maybe it
did end up impacting the player enough to make the
difference in the game. Bottom line is the NFL is
not gonna change anything about it. They felt confident their
call and the Minnesota Vikings are moving on. Um the

(01:11:56):
clowney hit, So the clowney hit. Sean Smith, one of
the NFL referees, his response to a pool reporter after
the game about it, said that jadeveon Clownye hit on
Wentz and why it wasn't a penalty. He said he
was a runner. He did he did not give himself up.
Speaking of Wentz, we saw incidental helmet contact and in

(01:12:17):
our judgment we didn't rule that to be a foul.
So I'll remind you if you slide feet first, the
moment you start to slide you're giving yourself up, your
deemed defenseless, and so if you get contacted in particular
above the shoulders to the head and neck, that's drawn
a foul. Every time Wentz went head first, and because

(01:12:40):
he did in that instance, you know, when you look
at the hit from Clowney, he kind of leads with
the shoulder and he does make contact. But to me
it looked like it was incidental and he actually almost
made contact either simultaneously or with his shoulder first to
his back then into his helmet that his helmet then
hit the ground. So it's unfortunate. I'm sure Eagles fans
will see a differently, But there's your NFL's response from

(01:13:02):
the from the official. Well, I mean, the Eagles fancy
everything differently. They also thought it was a good idea
to eat horse crap off the streets after they want
a Super Bowl. That is true. There were people eating
actual horse to like, So I mean take that for
what you will. But look, this is now twice that
Carson Wentz has suffered major injuries. Although we don't know
the status of this concussion moving forward, but I'm gonna
say major because it knock him out of a playoff. Game,

(01:13:24):
and also uh suffered a major injury that ended his
season a couple of years ago. And what was the
common denominator in both occurrences He dove head first. Come on,
man like at some point, And this is where people
brought up the Russell Wilson thing. His baseball background, he
knows how to slide feet first, and and who was
there was another conversation that was being had. Was it

(01:13:47):
r G three back in the day to where it was, hey,
work on your sliding because at least you're going to
be protected in case this stuff happens. He doesn't do it.
And maybe it's an instinct thing. I don't know, but
we've seen Andrew Luck get banged around on on plays
like that, Matt Stafford, I didn't he like separate his
shoulder diving head first or something like that is rookie season, like,

(01:14:08):
he's if he slides feet first, come on, here's the problem.
And I've told this to you before. I was someone
who liked to jump head first if I could. Because
even though you're not granted the protection, you know the
rules in place to protect you, that doesn't mean the
defender is gonna be able to alter his course once
he launches, and the only thing that's exposed when you

(01:14:29):
slide feet first is your upper half, your upper body,
and so your head and neck are exposed. I always
felt like in that position you are indeed defenseless and
whatever the result of the play is, yeah, you make
it the penalty, but you may be knocked out. And
so to me, I always felt more comfortable trying to
dive head first, you know a lot of times almost
looking like a belly flopping out there. But the reason

(01:14:52):
was is I felt like I could duck my head
down first, and so as a guy was going to
lower himself to hit me, I could get lower, I
could get down on the ground, and then I'm down
before he's even able to make contact. And so I
know it goes against the rule and it goes against
the protection that you're given, but I always felt, I
guess more defended in that way instead of feeling defenseless

(01:15:13):
in that position slotting feet first. Brady quinn Jonas knocks
here on Fox Sports Radio from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio Studios. All Right, coming up next, A tweet has
been sent for the first time in months. Li've bet
Jesus will make a pick non football related. That's next
year on FS are good song man song moves so hot,

(01:15:39):
just slipknot no rage. This is this is what you
call a preview for Super Bowl fifty whatever. You know,
you know they need to do, they do it. Vince
is I don't know fifty thousand, Who care? It's fifty four.
It's fifty four because it's because it's l I V.
It's okay, here's here's what they need to do. Vince

(01:16:03):
McMahon started doing this with his WrestleMania is he no
longer numbered them because it got to it's like UFC
is now like two thirty nine or two or to
seventy years. At some point it's just UFC or it's
just the super Bowl. Let's just go to the super Bowl.
I disagree because one this year's is cool, Like the
l I V is kind of dope. You have to

(01:16:24):
give a little bit of c. What's what's so cool
about it? Because it's in Miami. Is a club called that.
It just it looks cool because it's in Miami and
you don't have to fly anywhere. That's what's so cool.
That's that's cool too, that's cool. You'll be down here
we'll be hanging out. Who knows, and you never know.
Maybe I got planned. You never know. That's not true.
The last time I was in Miami, Um, I was

(01:16:46):
throwing up outside the airport flight true story would like
plane motion sickness or something. It was before the flight.
So do the math. Bad seafood, that seafood, That bad seafood?
Is that what it was? How about tumas? But something else? Alright,
So Brady Quinn live, bet Jesus from the Geico Fox

(01:17:11):
Sports Radio studio should be making an appearance here. I
don't know what thatll he's gonna bet. I don't even
know are there games on right now? I mean we
normally have football, um don't I mean, are there games?
I don't even know what he would be looking at
right now if that were the case. You know, all
I know is just from being in studio and seeing
some of those lines come across the board that he'll
send in a little sketchy. It's little sketchy sometimes those lines.

(01:17:34):
It doesn't have the refresh page sometimes. I mean, alright,
well listen, I I get just saying, well, it's almost
like you're making an accusation, which is yeah, pretty much
Jesus bits no kidding. Um, well, there is a paper
that he passes down, that's what you read it off of.
So you have seen it happen, so so you can
confirm the paper does fall from. I've been there, when

(01:17:54):
you've been there in studio reading off what live bet
Jesus sends down. Yeah, you've seen it. It's when you
prove that you're not lying, right, you start crumbling and
like waving the paper everyone. Yeah, I've witnessed you reading
it from the paper that he sends down. Yeah, so
you have actually seen it, so so you can confins
Usually take that paper, as you know, you hand it

(01:18:17):
to me, I look at it, read it. I crumbled
up and throw it back at you. And then you
get upset about it because we never really know what
exactly lied be Jesus does. Okay, well, never mind all that,
never mind all of that, ladies and gentlemen, forget all that.
The Okay, now the lights are out in the studio,
all right, jokes over, Can somebody turn the lights on,
for God's sakes, somebody, anybody? All right, nobody wants to

(01:18:37):
do it. Traffic is stop. The stop lights are not
existent at this point. This is a crazy turn of
events here at Fox Sports Radio. The clocks have stopped.
Uh this is it's almost like the end of last hour.
The clocks have stopped here on Fox Sports Radio. And
and I can't see a damn thing. There's a piece
of paper falling down onto the desk. Brady Quinn, just
see you know. We're on the up and up here,

(01:18:58):
all right, it's Bobo's video game Expense Report. Hold on Xbox.
It is tonight on the fifth day of January twenty
that I live bet Jesus proclaimed they picked to be

(01:19:20):
the Phoenix Suns plus ten and a half plus ten
and a half basketball season, just another wild weekend in
the National Football League. It more than delivers. And we've
got it all coming up here in just a couple
of moments. That guy over there is Brady Quinn. I'm
Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio. You can listen

(01:20:02):
my man, Brady Quinn, Hey, thanks Jonas a lot more
to the point where you appreciate that. Thank you for
starting off the Hour of three with a little better introduction,
nice and nice and boring. Let's go live to our
which introduction? Do you prefer? Insider Bobo for the latest Bubbo? Yeah?
That was sucked. I like that was horrible. Appreciate I
like him hyping you up. It just makes it that

(01:20:23):
much better. You know what my wish is? No, No,
here's my wish. Could next time you throw up to
Bobo Jonas, could you hype up Bobo? It would be
much better if you did that. I would I would
actually enjoy that if you could do that for me.
How about wait, let's do this? Why no, because I
have no problem because I have no problem with doing it,
like bringing you on? But why don't you try to

(01:20:45):
bring Jonas on? Jonas? Why why can't you intro Bobo?
I don't want to because who am I? He intros
me every time I cracked the mic? I did I
get him an introduction every time? That's why here's here's
the thing. This is what's so frustrating. Can I tell you?
Can I tell you a little behind the curtain and
radio here. So one of the big pet peeves for

(01:21:08):
a lot of for a lot of people in radio,
if you talked to a program director, one of their
big pet peeves is one of voice from out of nowhere.
It just pops on the mic because if I'm a listener,
I don't know who the hell that like? Who who's
talking right now? It's radio? It so introducible. But the
problem is I'm saying, you don't hype him up like
I want to hear you hype up bo. That's what
I was asking. Okay, you want me to do it now? Okay,

(01:21:31):
he'll do He'll HiPE me up if you hype him
up right after? How about that? I feel like now
we're now we're just getting this. This is a little bit,
a little bit two friends each other up. Kind of weird. Yeah,
so what will listen? We will address We'll address this
at some point during the show here and and listen.
If we don't, then we don't. That's just such a

(01:21:52):
life here at Fox Sports Radio. All right, So Brady
quinn Um listen. I'm seeing a lot of people you
mentioned this earlier, you know, even people maybe that you
might work with that are that are calling into question
Carson Wentz. They're they're they're doubting Carson Wentz is a
franchise quarterback. Of course, that's a big story. Kirk Cousins
gets his revenge. Saints fans are still crying. Uh, where

(01:22:15):
do you walking away from a Sunday watching two games
in the National Football League? The biggest story to you
on a Sunday is what I think the biggest thing
is if you look at the a f C playoff picture,
not having Brady, not having obviously Manning and uh Flacco
we knew weren't gonna be a part of it. Roethlisberger
as well with the injury this year, but just past

(01:22:37):
the wild card round, you know, and and and just
the way it's not like Tannehill really blew them out
of the water. But the crazy thing about that, I
think he passed for what seventy two yards in a
pick Flacca was worse. If you go back to two
thousand and nine, the last time the Patriots were in
this position, they lost to the Baltimore Ravens. And Flacco
passed for like thirty nine yards in that game. So

(01:23:01):
it's just surprising that the Patriots season came to an end,
given that they got to host a game in Foxboro,
They're going against a former assistant, and that one surprised
me the most. You know, it really did. Like usually
we see Bill Belichick and the Patriots take away the
number one thing you do. I think we all knew

(01:23:22):
Derrick Henry is gonna get the football in that game,
and the fact that the Titans were the more physical team,
they were the better team. They did what they want.
And the best part about it was Mike Vrabel used
the same loophole that Bill Belichick utilized in the fourth
quarter of a game outside of five minutes to ink
more time off the clock. Was open about it and

(01:23:44):
said that I guarantee the Competition Committee will change this
after the year, but right now I'm still gonna utilize it.
Mike Vrabel did the same thing. They basically lined up
for a punt, they took a delay of game, but
because it was a running clock, the play clock keeps running,
and then they actually intentionally took a false start and
so that took off more time off the clock. Now,

(01:24:05):
fortunately they got the Patriots to jump off sides again
still running clock, and then they eventually once they got
within five minutes, they had to punt the football. They
couldn't take another penalty otherwise the clock would stop. They
be penalized. But it was just Mike rabel be Bill
Belichick at his own game. It's similar to the play
against the Ravens and the Divisional round a couple of
years ago that the Patriots utilized. There was they noticed

(01:24:30):
it was something that Alabama ran to where if you
if you disguise who the eligible receiver is, then you
can get a guy open. And I think that offseason
it became illegal, but they used it because they knew
the loophole uh in in in the system. And what
they could do was they could basically say before the

(01:24:51):
game they could introduce it to the officials, and they did.
They told them they there's gonna be an ineligible blah
blah blah. They kind of left it vague at that
and that's all the they had to do. And then
before the play that player had to deem himself eligible
in that instance or ineligible, and they did. They did
the proper protocol. Then love, but now I love it
because they're basically saying like, yes, sorry, you guys didn't

(01:25:13):
prepare for this. And I think after the fact the
league again frowned upon it and they made the change
moving forward. But that's the thing is like the Patriots
are okay living in that gray area and utilizing it
to their advantage. I just think the difference in this
case is the Titans did at this time around and
and that's I'll just tell you from playing for former
New England Patriot Assistance, this is the game that goes

(01:25:36):
on behind the scenes. Okay, so let me just take
you back to two thousand and nine. Okay, I'm with
Eric Mangini and then the Cleveland Browns. We go out
to take on the Denver Broncos with the head coach
Josh McDaniels. So the whole weekend practice we practiced this
like hurry up where we would we're basically trying to

(01:25:58):
catch them substituting. And I remember my O C at
the time, Brian Dable, was like, Dude, if we get
them once or twice in this, I swear to you.
He's like, I'll buy you a steak dinner whatever you want,
Like it was all about trying to like trick them
and being able to get one over on them and
trying to catch them substituting. Well, the problem is is

(01:26:18):
we didn't get off to a hot start. They were
a buzz saw. That that was the beginning of Josh
McDaniels when he first got there. They started off six
and oh, one of the hottest teams in the NFL.
And so we played them week two on the road,
our first road game. We're not a good football team,
and you know, so we're trying to catch them and
we're trying to run this hurry up play. Well, the
problem was they were prepared for it and they didn't

(01:26:38):
sub because they were ahead and they didn't need to.
So we we kept getting caught basically in these condensed
splits because we were gonna run an inside zone play.
We're gonna run the football and try to catch them
before they got the twelfth got off the field subbing
out to get the penalty. Well, every time we do it,
we'd rush, but then they wouldn't sub or they'd be
able to swap fast enough, and so the O. C

(01:27:00):
would be then yelling at my in my helmet, hey, hey,
back Off back Off called this, called this. Well, the
problem at that point is our tackles were condensed down.
They've got these fast edge rushers that would that our
tackles had to deal with, like Elvis Doomerville for example,
And they're looking back at me like, dude, you're setting
us up to fail. And I was like, it's done
on me, man, Like now I'm just trying to get

(01:27:20):
us in the play call our play callers asking for
And so that's the kind of stuff that goes on
behind the scenes, and those guys absolutely love it. Vrabel
Flora's all those guys. There's all these little games that
go on within the game itself that no one knows about.
Is it just so? If that's the if? And and
we've talked I think we talked about this or we

(01:27:41):
were discussing it before the show. So fourteen and fourteen
is the record Bill Belichick Versus Disciples. But but Brian Flores,
Matt Patricia, last time they played Mike Vrabeli O'Brien, you
start going down the line, You're like, wait a minute.
More often than not lately that record as even now
you know, all of a sudden, he suffered a bunch

(01:28:03):
of losses, which is which? Which begs the question? And
maybe this was Miami's thinking and making the higher. If
the Patriots in Belichick had been dominating the a f
C East for that long and you want and you
knew you had to beat them if you wanted to
win the division, why wouldn't more those a f C
East teams higher Belichick disciples? I mean, if they know

(01:28:23):
how they have to some degree like Flores. But I'm saying,
you know, Adam, yeah, I just I wonder have they
I like, why wouldn't that be the strategy? What do
you do you think that maybe Belichick, in bringing these
guys in, gives them so much intel into how he
operates and what he does, or maybe Belichick at this

(01:28:45):
point says, maybe I'm not going to be around for
a long time, so I don't want to hold anything
close to the vest. But if people are poaching his
assistance from him, seemingly every single year over the past
however many years, I just wonder, at what point does
Belichick think he's hurting himself by giving away, you know,
all his secrets during this during these times with these assistants.
So I think it's interesting you bring that up because

(01:29:06):
you know what, you know what, there's two teams now,
granted they don't play in the same level of football,
they have something in common. This is the first time
we have not seen Nick Saban and Alabama, as well
as Bill Belichick in New England Patriots be playing at
this point in time in the postseason for college football
or the NFL. And what have they both endured? They've
endured both incredible turnover on their staffs. It seems like

(01:29:30):
every year, every other year they're losing a coordinator on
one side of the ball or maybe both. I mean,
you go back to this year for Alabama, Pete Golden
came in to called their defense, Steve Sarkijian came back
to called their offense. Right, they lost Locksley. Um, you know,
they've lost a number of defensive coordinators Kirby Smart over
the years, Jeremy Pruitt, and and so you look at
what Saban's dealt with and you know, granted the two

(01:29:52):
a tongue of by lower injury was huge and not
impacted them more than anything else, but all that being said,
like their defense has been the same either. And then
you look at the New England Patriots, and yeah, Bill
Belichick took over for the defense. I think the beginning
of the year you were saying, oh, that this defense
is playing as because it ever has the beginning of
a season. Well, then the second half of the season

(01:30:12):
that kind of started tail off and the offense never
came along. Now, granted Josh has been there for a while,
but it started to put more pressure and reveal some
of the issues even more so they were having on offense,
and so I just think that that sort of thing
catches up to you. And after this season the way
things went, if they lose Josh McDaniels, who I think
was a genius for the most part. The only thing

(01:30:33):
I would be critical with is the way they played
out the goal line series, the three straight runs and
they were worried about Tennessee getting the ball back for
a two minutes rill was a game right there, which
by the way, it didn't matter because Tennessee went down
the field and scored as it was. You know, that
decision not to throw one pass there that didn't make
any sense to me. And then you go back to
they had a fourth and three around midfield, and you know,

(01:30:55):
I know it's a spot where you're saying, okay, we
could punt the football pin and back and we'll eventually
get the football back with a greater field. But you
hadn't been moving to the football that well, and at
least not without some trick plays. So maybe this is
your best chance to kind of convert this into some points,
put some points on the board. So I just I
think you can start to poke some holes into some

(01:31:16):
of the questions and some of the decisions that Bill
Belichick and even Josh McDaniels made this particular game. Yeah,
I know, it was just a hell of a performance
by Selma Hike, I mean, Mike rabel uh In in
that game. So sorry about that. Just a little little
mix up here on the show. That's okay, it's very distracted. Yeah,
I get and trust me, I get it. That's all right,

(01:31:37):
all right. Rady Quinn Jones knocks here on Fox Sports
Radio from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. By the way, update,
I bet Jesus made an appearance earlier. He had the
Son's plus ten and a half against the Grizzlies. The
Grizzlies are up by five, so it's looking good. It's like,
maybe maybe that's just what the doctor ordered get out
of the NFL season and maybe things start to take

(01:31:57):
a turn for the better for I bet Jesus, how
about that? Brady questions this game in the fourth quarter? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that Remember that was how he kind of you've got
some wins? He started begging the NBA. He usually waited
until about eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. How
much times left? It's a thirty two seconds, So this
bet was made. Yeah, that's about right. That's about the

(01:32:18):
status quo for five bed Jesus on how much is
he gonna make off that bet? How should I know?
I don't, I'm not, I don't. I don't manage his finances.
How how the hell should I know? All right, Brady
Quinn coming up next here on Fox Sports Radio. There's
a major announcement that will be made in the world
of football, and Brady Quinn is concerned concerned about this decision.

(01:32:43):
Find out what it is next here on fs ARE
it's this Nirvana now, all right, Brady Quinn. Jonas knocks
here on Fox Sports Radio from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Come on, man, I know what, I'm just
busting balls. I know what I'm talking about. This is cardig.
That's right, long letter, but we will take it. You

(01:33:06):
get a one out of twenty six shot in the alphabet.
Brady quinn Um. All right, So I just an update
here on Fox Sports Radio. What do you know, live
bet Jesus with a win, had had the sons plus
ten and a half, and that was taking care of
business here on fl Awesome, awesome making that bet as
late as he did. Uh. Someone say it's cheating, but

(01:33:27):
do you know we don't have really rules for live
bed Jesus. And he gets desperate. He uh, he likes
to just dig at the barrel, bottom the barrel and listen.
They really just scraps wins or winds, and sometimes you
just have to land the plane, all right. It doesn't
matter how how soft of a landing. It is, just
land the plane. And that's exactly what he did live
at Jesus with a big time win suns plus time

(01:33:49):
plus ten and a half. Huge. This is one of
those confidence builders, you know, where I've bet Jesus stunk
for so long that he uh just took a lail
and took it. I think so he's feeling better about himself. Yeah,
I think I think so too, by the way, coming
up ten minutes from now here on fs ARE, we
will have over Unders here on Fox Sports Radio. Over Unders,

(01:34:09):
a competitive, fun little game here in which Brady Quinn
and I will tell you exactly what will happen here
in the next week in the world of sports and beyond.
So that'll be ten minutes from now on fs ARE.

has a press conference set for Monday in which he
will make his announcement on what he plans on doing,
whether he will return to Alabama or do what most
people expect, enter the NFL draft. Nick Saban will be

(01:34:53):
at the press conference with two a tug of Byloa.
You see that as a sign of what possibly Brady
Quinn that he's coming back. I just I feel like
if if Nick Saban is gonna be there, um, it
most likely is to talk about maybe the process moving forward. Maybe,

(01:35:14):
you know, they feel like they could solidify his position,
his position and being a top five pick and next
year's draft along with Trevor Lawrence and and maybe even
this chance of him going and winning a national championship
next year. And look, I know a lot of people
are like, are you kidding me? Man, Like, why does
that matter to him? Here's why it matters. Unless you're

(01:35:35):
in that position, you don't know. And sometimes in life
we feel like we have unfinished business. And maybe he
wants to prove to all the doubters that he can
play through the season, be healthy and they can go
win a national championship. There's been another amendment. A number
of other players who have you know, tried to make
that commitment to Alex Leatherword is left tackle, their defensive player,

(01:35:55):
Dylan Moses, who they lost for there, even though he's
still may by the twentieth of January, maybe out back
into going to the drip of his father had his choice,
I think he'd already make it. Yeah, I think he
was already kind of speaking for him in that instance, um.
But I just I think you look at some of
the guys who want to come back, and they want
to reload, and they want to have a shot at
trying to go win it next year. So that's the

(01:36:17):
only reason it makes sense to me. I don't know
why if you make that announcement, why you need to
draw attention to Nick Shaban being there, Like, why is
that such a big deal or why is that part
of it? Um? And And also I think if people
are going to be critical of of these guys when
they decide they want to come back, and I know
some people said, oh, what's dumb, you'd not making the
right decision. I don't know. Maybe he just really likes it.

(01:36:38):
Maybe he likes playing at Alabama. Maybe he understands that, yeah,
there's risks involved, but I enjoy being here and if
it means that I take the risk and I can
if I get through healthy, I can still go to
the NFL, and and if I take the risk and
something happens, and it happens. But maybe he just likes
playing college football, and I don't think there's anything wrong.
Matt Leonard stayed for an extra year when he could

(01:36:58):
have laughed there's a lot of players that have done
it well, and so and again, like I stay back
to the left every of my junior year, and I
felt like I wanted to get my degree. I wanted
to try to go win a national championship. I wanted
to try to go see if I had a shot
to win the Heisman, Like there are all those things
out there for I mean, I think the difference to
for me. And maybe this is just how he doesn't
want it to finish or it doesn't want it to end.
You know, sometimes you get to the end of that season,

(01:37:20):
you're like, man, this is not how I envisioned it ending.
And so you go back again because you want to
try to write that story and you want to try
to change that final chapter. And that's one of the
reasons why I was, you know, wanting to go back
and finish Planet or Charlie Weiss again because I enjoyed
it and I thought I could learn from him, and
so I wanted to come back for a final year

(01:37:41):
and check off some of those boxes and not have
to go back to school and finish and and be
able to be with the guys that I went to
Notre Dame with in my class and and and give
it one more shot. And you know, one thing I
think we were proud of, even though we didn't win
a national championship doing the Heisman, you know, we didn't
improve every single year, and we took that pro grant
from when we first got there, you know, going with

(01:38:02):
a five and seven record to every year getting better
and better. And so you know, again, it didn't finish
the way we wanted it to exactly, but we we
took it to be in a much better place. And
I think, you know, it's harder to rebuild an overhaul universities. Um,
it's harder than people realize. You know, you don't have
the ability of at least we didn't back then, of
the transfer portal where you can bring in some other

(01:38:24):
players from jucos and graduate transfers and all that. You know,
now that's changed the college landscape with how they go about,
um adding those players to the roster. But um, you know,
maybe he wants to do that. Maybe the way this
season ended for him, he's saying like, no, man, I'm
not gonna go out like that, Like I'm not gonna
go out with this taste in my mouth and and
being banged up and having people doubt my ability to

(01:38:46):
stay health throughout the course of the season. Did you
regret going back? No, not at all. I mean I
think in hindsight you always wonder like, oh, like, where
would I have been drafted or wheld? Where would I
have been taken had I come out in that year's draft,
back into two thousand and six and as a as
compared to two douzen and seven draft. And so I
don't regret it at all because, you know, you again,

(01:39:07):
I got to spend another year with a lot of
guys that again, I think we helped accomplish that goal
of continuing to improve our program. Um. You know, I
got my degree. I was a double major and finance
and policy, which has been beneficial for me doing things
outside of all this crap, you know with sports and football,
um and and I think other than that, like it
kind of helped me mature and prepare me for the

(01:39:29):
next step. And you know, I think if I had
gone after my junior year, I would have been even
more naive than I already was. Like, nothing can really
prepare you for stepping into the world of the NFL
until you do it. But once you do you kind
of look back and go, wow, like I'm glad I
had that additional year to kind of mature and prepare myself.
Like to be honest with you, looking back on it,

(01:39:50):
I wish I would have read shirted, Like I wish
I would have had the chance to red shirt and
then play for four years, because I think I would
have been better going into that first year instead of
struggling being four or five. I think as a start,
as a true freshman, I would have been able to
manage everything so much better and I would have been
a better player as well as at that point in time,
even a better student. So if anything, I wanted more

(01:40:13):
time because I think, you know, in my life, I've
kind of learned that, like I need more reps, I
need more experience, And that was unfortunately when I got
to the NFL. You know, you don't get you don't
get that long man like you got. I got three
years in Cleveland. Basically I try to prove myself with
two different head coaches, and by the end of it
that was it. Like I was traded and then I
was like, all right, he's a backup and maybe if

(01:40:33):
you get some playing time you can prove himself to
someone else, but not us. So it's a it's a
tough it's a tough deal to you know, to to
have to realize that's your reality moving forward. I never
fault guys for going back. I think it's for a reason.
And and people can say, well, financially, it's a dumb decision. Okay,
Well that that's fine. You can say it's a dumb
decision all you want, but it's their decision. Just like
Richard Sherman negotiated the contract he wanted because it was

(01:40:55):
his decision. That's the deal that he wanted. I think
Nick Saban being there, I don't read that as that
means that to us coming back. I think it's Nick
Saban showing support for TA and his decision to leave
and go enter the NFL draft. Because Nick Saban did
get some heat from people who said, why was he
in there at that point in the game, What was

(01:41:16):
the point. I didn't bust his balls for it. I
understood exactly why Too was in there. They wanted to
get him an extra rep. They were going to take
him out. It was bad luck, bad situation all the
way around. But it feels like this is Saban showing
support for a guy who's leaving school when the narrative
on Saban is that he's a little bit of a
red ass. And think about this man, like, it's not

(01:41:37):
only that scenario of showing that you care, it's also
he's got a brother who's backup quarterback. There, he's tied
into the family. I mean, when when you go recruit
some of these kids, it's not like there's not a
lot that goes into it, Like you gotta take a
trip hold way out to way to recruit this young man.
That's it's not easy to do. So this this young
man's met lots of the program. Uh, he's I think,

(01:41:59):
you know, he's got a strong relationship with the family,
and so there's a lot that goes into this. I
will say this, you know, is he potentially putting himself
at risk. Sure, and people can talk about getting an
insurance policy and how that could protect him based on
if he gets hurt again and his loss of value
in that following year's draft if he comes back. Okay,
But but the problem with that logic is is it

(01:42:21):
doesn't necessarily help him deal with, you know, getting rid
of that tag of being injury prone because that tag
is gonna live with him regardless, Like whether he comes
back next year and he's able to survive next season,
it doesn't get hurt, people are still gonna look a him,
say hip injury, two ankle surgeries almost you can almost,
I don't want to say a reconstructive, but you know,
based on that surgery, it changes obviously the structure of

(01:42:44):
your ankle and how sturdy it is. He had to
believe a risk injury to um that he sat out
of a spring I want to say last year. So
he's had a number of injuries and things that have
gone on, and so that's gonna stick with him regardless.
That's in his history. It's known, so that's still gonna
be there. And that's where I feel like, you know,
if he would have left this year, and let's say
he slides to the second round because they're curious about

(01:43:06):
the hip. The one thing I think he has going
in his favor is if he plays for a year
or two and he showcases his ability, he's gonna be
like Dac and DA's a year closer than guys who
get drafted in the first round because they don't have
the fifth year option, and so people will go, well, yeah,
but he's not making as much initially, okay, but you're not.
You don't make the majority of your money now in

(01:43:26):
these rookie contracts is the second contract. And so the
sooner you get to that second contract, the sooner you
cash in. And so so that's that's where I think
you you could make a case for what he could
potentially be leaving on the table, which is why lady
On Bell was in a better situation than Melvin Gordon
because they didn't have that extra year of control exactly, okay,
And and that's and that's the biggest difference, um when

(01:43:48):
you start looking at all this So you know, to me, like, yeah,
do you lose the potential of he makes some of
that money upfront? Sure, people have talked about the difference
between being the first overall pick and thirty million and
like the ten the overall pick and make it eighteen,
like that's that's a big difference. And yeah, okay, so
you can see why a player would say, you know, yeah,
if I'm not a first shirtsops and pick, you know,

(01:44:09):
may I'm gonna come back or go back for another year.
But yeah, well you're doing that and in sacrificing another
year of not being able to go make money for yourself,
you know, and not you know, being able to be
because that's that's one of the other things depending on
the position, and granted, quarterbacks different, but for other positions,
you know, once you get into the thirties, people look
at you different if you're not really established, and so

(01:44:29):
that that I think plays into those contract negotiations. And
so if you're trying to sign that second deal, you
may even get a pretty big third deal after the
second deal is done. Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here on
Fox Sports Radio. All right, coming up next year at
fs ARE, we will have over unders here on Fox
Sports Radio for all the latest self from around the
world of sports. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to Steve

(01:44:51):
de Sager. Hello. Seattle wanted Philadelphia seventeen to nine quarterback
Carson Wentz to defeat left early with the head injury.
Helmet to helmet hit. Josh McCown was s six times.
Tight End Zach Ertz of the Eagles with the broken
ribs had two receptions. Tight End Dallas Goddard seven catches
in the lost seventy three yards. Jake Elliott three for
three on field goals. Seattle had rookie dk Metcalf seven receptions,

(01:45:13):
a hundred sixty yards and a score. So Seattle, despite
eleven penalties for hundred fourteen yards, wins at Philly by
the same score they won there in late November seventeen
to nine. Minnesota won in overtime at New Orleans twenty
The Saints missed to forty three yard field goal attempt
at the end of the first half and Drew Brees
fumbled late in regulation when they were in field goal range.

(01:45:34):
Dalvin Cook for the winners two touchdown runs. He had
twenty eight carries ninety four yards. Tight end Kyle Rudolph
with the game winning touchdown receptions. So this weekend in
the NFL playoffs, three of the four road teams won.
Next weekend first off this Saturday, Minnesota plays at San
Francisco four thirty pm Eastern Saturday Night, Tennessee's at Baltimore.
Next Sunday, Houston at Kansas City three pm Eastern time,

(01:45:57):
then Seattle at Green Bay on Fox TV six thirty
pm Eastern time. The conference title games are still a
couple of weeks away. The Super Bowls on Fox TV
February two from Miami, the Cowboys officially parted ways with
coach Jason Garrett. Bears guard Kyle Long retired. He was
the first rounder. In the late NBA game underway in
l A, the Lakers late first quarter lead twenty one

(01:46:19):
fifteen over Detroit. There's college basketball on FS one mid
first half at Washington Huskies over USC fourteen to eight.
Today fourteenth rang Michigan State beat twelfth rang Michigan eighty
seven to sixty nine. Is Cassius Winston, the All American
guard with thirty two points nine assists for the Spartans
Number twenty dayton one at St. Joe's in front of
a small crowd in Philly eighty to sixty seven. Xavier

(01:46:41):
on Fox beat St. John seventy five sixty nine. By
the way, earlier NBA wins for the Clippers in Miami,
for Minnesota and Memphis. Back to you, thanks Steve Company
Alive from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, where it's
easy to say fifteen per center more on cor Entrance
with the Geico GetGo dot Com call eight nine four
seven auto. The only hard hard figuring out which way
is easier. Steve Disaga real quick before we get over

(01:47:04):
unders here. So I saw the Grizzlies beat the Sun's
how much did they beat them by? I was just wondering, Yeah,
that would be a seven points exactly. It doesn't matter
the sport and that's been proven. Actually, when you said
on the show live bet loser has sent out to tweet,
I assume he was tweeting his retirement. We were about

(01:47:25):
to all go nuts, but not so at We're all
hoping for it got crossed unbelievable dirty pool by Steve Disaga. Here,
this is crazy, all right, Well enough with the negativity here,
let's get to some fun stuff. So it's time for
this time to put your money where your mouth is.

(01:47:47):
You know it's over under And for that we turned
it over to our executive producer, lead the lab to
find out how we did last week and what's going
on this weekly? Are you guys less week? All the
skills came down to this. We asked you how many
yards would Marshawn Lynch put up this week? We put
it at fifty. Care to guess how many yards marsh

(01:48:08):
On Lynch put off off of six carries with a
long of five, he put up a total seven. Hey,
canna touchdown? That's efficient? Yeah, that's efficient. Oh boy? So
what was the bet? Who took one? Jonas? You had
the under fifty, you had the over fifty yards, Brady

(01:48:29):
had the under. Are we sure about that? Yep? See,
I thought you were asking does he want to rush
for over fifty yards? Because that's what I was saying,
yes to that, that he does definitely want to rush
for over fifty yards, because I'm pretty sure he did
want her to do that, and Brady said he didn't.
So I think that. You know, Jonas, you lost, Just
eat it, take it with you and going home, all right,

(01:48:53):
you guys, looking on again, ahead, looking onto the divisional
round you guys, forty Niners are gonna be hosting the
Vikings next week. The number of interceptions we see in
this game one and a half. Uh, this is so negative?
Why do we have to be so negative with this game?
All right? So, Kirk Cousins versus Jimmy Garoppolo, give me

(01:49:17):
the overly, Oh man, give me the one and a half. Yeah,
one and a half. Give me that overly. I'm gonna
take the under. I'm I'm rooting for Kirk. I'm rooting
for Jimmy, I'm rooting for a clean game. I'm gonna
take the under. What games at four thirty Eastern time? Yeah,

(01:49:37):
give me the over? Go ahead. You keep rooting against him.
I'm not against him. I'm rooting for Kirk. You can
make money. Make money, all right. You want to go
a little positive, Let's go positive you guys. In fact,
let's change pace a little bit. Instead of over under,
let's do either or. Ravens are gonna be hosting the
Titans next week. Who has more yards Derrick Henry or
Lamar Jackson, Lamar Jackson rushing yards rushing Lamar Jackson. Jeez, yeah,

(01:50:09):
I'll take Lamar Jackson. I oh man, I mean just think,
like talk about just a difference in two worlds. If
you're the Titans defensively, you just went from Tom Brady
to Lamar Jackson, Like it's a completely The thing is
they're rested. So when you think about that, it's not
like like I worried a little bit Kansas City that

(01:50:30):
coming off, you know, some time off. They've got a
pretty intricate passing game, like they could be a little
rusty right with Lamar Jackson, Like no, no, he's just
gonna be fresh, like You're just gonna have fresh legs
and feel like better than he's probably ever felt in
a while at this point this season. And plus, the
Titans are the only team on the a f C
side of the playoffs that that didn't play the Ravens
this season, so they've never seen this before, which is

(01:50:52):
why what that means, baby, that means first quarter, you
better take those Ravens, put some points on the board.
Everyone struggles with them in the first quarter, and then
it's like the second quarter they're like, Okay, we're starting
to kind of figure it out a little bit. Damn straight,
And if I gambled, that's exactly what I would do.
Oh yeah, if you gamble, if I did. All right,
you guys, Chiefs are hosting the Texans. We both know

(01:51:14):
that Patrick Mahomes was select number ten before uh Sean Watson.
Time into the game, we get our first mention of
Mitchell Drabinsky draft number two, the Bears having a watch party.
Jonas one that uh yeah, they've been having a watch
party for thirty years. Um over under halftime, we hear
Mitchell Drabinsky's name in this game under it'll happen before halftime.

(01:51:36):
Oh yeah, I'm with you. That's the go to I'm under.
In fact, both Mahomes and Watson might like at sometimes
in the pregame walk over to each other and just
like hold up how many fingers and where they were drafted.
It's it's literally like I just just think of your
Mitch Drabinsky. It's like it's like using a trough and

(01:51:57):
to your right and left is Dirk Dave GluR and
Taco fall Like how do you feel good about that?
I mean looking down and being like, hey, like is
that a ring on your finger? Come on? And who
like all three thumbs over here? Like it's just like
it's just a terrible, terrible feeling. I feel bad for
the guy. Hopefully. All right, you guys, Packers are gonna

(01:52:19):
be hosting the Seahawks next week over under a halftime.
We hear this. We're gonna score. Okay, little Matt hassleback,
we want the ball. We're gonna score. Um, all right,
playoff game Packers Seahawks. So over under halftime on this
as well. And it's a Fox broadcast. No, they're playing it.

(01:52:40):
I'm taking Yeah, you think it's before halftime? Oh yeah,
it might be before the camp before the first corn
toss um. You can't save that material and hoping it
goes down. See, yeah, I'll take under. I'll take under.
It'll happen before halftime. Alright. Lastly, you guys, a number
of shows Jonas has to fill in for this week

(01:53:01):
and a half, over over this time of year. Anything
that opens up, Jonas is gonna fill it. That's right.
Any any gap in the schedule, Jonas is all over it.
Faith that. Ly, go ahead and say that. I'll be

(01:53:22):
put right into the highlight reel. Uh and it sound
there's just a sliver, a sliver of light. Jonas is there.
He's gonna thrust himself into it first. I'm just like,
I'm not gonna back into it. I will take I'll

(01:53:45):
take the under. I will take the under. Here on
Fox Sports Radio sometimes like do you know do you
know how what you're saying sounds on the air. Are
you aware of that or do you not? I'm just saying, man,
you are one that is you're never gonna take a
day off. You your mantra is no days off. Anytime
someone calls in, you know you're willing to help them out.

(01:54:07):
You know you're willing to give them an extra hand
I'll take Yeah, you are you about done yourself this time? Buddy,
You're gonna listen back to this and go, oh, that's
why they were laughing. I don't know what I'm complimenting,
y'all know, I'm trying to be your hight hand, right,
I'm trying to be your hype. I know you are,

(01:54:28):
and I'm trying to tell him that, like, look, you
you can handle that because you last longer, man, like you,
you get in there, you can do a show. You
can do another show after that, like you can. You
can do it. Man. I'm rooting for you, even when
it's hard. You it's always hard, but he always pulls
it out. Yeah, okay, all right, Uh thanks, all right,
thanksly Uh Jonas sucks Brady Quinn here on Fox Sports

(01:54:52):
Radio as we come to you Alive from the Geico
Fox Sports Radio Studios. All right, coming up next, we
will you know, why don't we call our shots on
some games? Why don't we know it's been a while
since we've done this, Brady Quinn, Why don't we call
our shots on some games? We've got four games next
weekend in the NFL, and if you want to know
who's gonna win these games, you don't go anywhere Brady

(01:55:14):
and Quinn and I will have that for you next
here on Fox Sports Radio. This song sucks, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up ten
minutes from now here on fs are Arnie Spaniard and
Chris Plank will take over these Fox Sports Radio airwaves.
Uh So, always a fun listen, especially when uh when

(01:55:36):
Arnie's Mike goes off. Always a fun listen here on
Fox Sports Radio. I kid, he's one of my favorites.
But you know when you short people on a Christmas
gifts you sent from Vermont, you know, sometimes you messed
with the bull, you get the horn. You've got a
maple syrup, right, No, No, not I not either. It
was all he was all. I sent it to the
producers and the anchors. How come not all the producers

(01:55:59):
and anchors got at that. He screwed people over big time? Terrible.
That doesn't sound like that worked out, right, No, it didn't.
Definitely didn't. I'm gonna try if Arnie's back. I think
he had the best intentions of mine. Probably ended up
being one of the shipping companies definitely blame it on them.
All right, Yeah, so I guess we could do that.
Now I will ask you this, Brady quick Well, first

(01:56:19):
of all, our guy Josh Allen, can we just simply
address this. Uh nobody has ball washed Josh Allen like
we have on this show. Well, yeah, that fourth quarter
he had, I mean, and that was that. I mean
I I started calling him Joshus Winston. Uh in that
fourth quarter, whether it was the fumble early on the

(01:56:39):
sacks he took him back to back plays, um, the
attempted lateral, which I still don't He has a wild man.
I love him, but man, oh man, he's a wild
ride he is. And uh it's a lot of fun.
You know. It's almost like the James Winston experience. Yes,
maybe josh Allen realizes like that's kind of catching on.
He's like, you know what a little bit of that

(01:57:00):
in my game. So fourth quarter, what do you do? Well,
when you're scrambling near the sidelines, you can't quite get
another yard, but you just look the pitch it to
whoever's there next to you. Uh. That was an interesting move.
The sack on third down that took them out of
really any field. Goal range that was. That was a heartbreaker,
terrible decision on his part. He's played enough now to

(01:57:22):
know better, and that's one of those ones too. Where up.
I'd be curious to see the communication because a lot
of times when you've got a play call or calling
into a and Dable Brian dables up the booth, which
means he is not talking directly to the quarterback. There
is someone on the sidelines he's relaying his call in.
So because of that, I would wonder whoever that is,

(01:57:45):
if he's reminding him, hey, throw it away or get
what you can. We're in field goal range here. I'm
not sure that message has ever passed because it took
a terrible sack and then he takes the worst sack
on fourth down, which I have no idea why Shaan
McDermott didn't just on with three time outs. Well, I mean,
if he were Drew Brees Josh Allen, he would just
blame somebody else for it, you know, if he were

(01:58:06):
Drew Brees. Yeah, I'm just saying, sure, you know what.
The funny thing that was a quick story about Carl
smith Um because he's the quarterback coach of Deshaun Watson.
Who also took a lot of sacks in that game,
took seven, by the way, probably five or about his
fall based on my account. But the one that we're
all gonna remember is the one that should have been
a sack that wasn't right, that brought the all out pressure.

(01:58:28):
Literally Watson sandwiched but then spends out of it somehow
and then end up ends up throwing a downfield and
ends up being a huge play helped them win the game. Um.
Carl Smith was also the quarterback coach in Seattle, so
I was there with him for some time, and he
would basically talk to us just about like football philosophy, right,
and he goes, you know, there's this thing called the
tree of life, and there's always great things in life, right,

(01:58:50):
Like there's like having kids, getting married, winning a Super Bowl,
being the m v P, winning the touchdown. And as
he's listing off some of these things, he's kind of
going down the tree, right, starting at the hot working
his way down. And as he works his way down,
he goes, you know, um, having your dog die, you know,
taking a sack, and he goes and that's the funny

(01:59:11):
thing he goes. You notice I haven't said an interception yet, right,
and we're like, yeah, he goes well because taking a
sack isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
He's like, everyone's gonna tell you don't take a sack,
don't do it, no matter what you do. Yet throwing
an interception or fumbling the football always worse. He's like,
so sometimes it's okay to take a sack. And if
you look at Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson the way

(01:59:33):
they played, sometimes they'll take some sacks and make you
pull your hair out. And you know what they do.
They win, baby, and when it comes down to it,
they make something happen. All right, let me ask you
this real quick road team to pull an upset, most
likely next week you go and Seattle like I am
uh no Minnesota
