Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Oh man, it's so
good to be back. It is so good. It seems
like it's been forever. Man Like, it's been ages like
the last time we were on the air. I think
that the uh I think that the Houston Oilers were
still in existence. I believe the Vancouver Grizzlies were still
(00:23):
in existence. But here we are Jonas Knox Brady Quinn,
Fox Sports Radio. You can check out the show on
the I Heart Radio app as we come to you

I have not had an opportunity to say this very
(00:45):
often over the last several weeks because of travel and
obligations and commitments and and worthless batchlor parties that I
got dragged into. But my man, Brady Quinn, it hasn't
been that long. Has it feels like it? Me? It
does feel like it's been a while. Um and I
have tried to keep in such I tried to call
(01:05):
in and take part in some of the show, right,
I mean, we we've we've done that from here at
time to time. Look, I just feel like it's it's
a it's a different vibe. You know, we're on the
air and we're just we're just firing away for three hours.
Man Like that's like just just laying the hot You're
doing all your hot takes and me trying to do
excess and those. I mean, that's that's really the juicy
(01:25):
part of the show. So it feels like it's been
a while. Just when you thought, just when you thought
it went away, it wasn't coming back. I'm not talking
about the STD either, all right, So don't don't think
in that direction. I'm just saying, just when you thought,
I really think that's a record the fastest, Like when
(01:47):
you thought it wasn't coming back. Um, football is back, baby,
it's back. I don't know what you think of what's
taken place the past two days. I gotta tell you,
I kind of like what I see. I really do.
Now you're talking about the A A a F for
a FF what they call the oh the Alliance of
American Football League. Well, I'm gonna call it a F.
(02:09):
I don't want to call it. It's not getting for
for uh letters, It's not getting you know, what they're
actually calling it for short, the Alliance like this is
some sort of superhero, you know. It sounds like a
wrestling tag team from the nineties. That actually might be
the only bad thing that they've they've done so far.
Everything else with it I gotta I'm telling you, man,
I kind of like it. I like the changes in
(02:30):
the rules. I like the access that you get to
the officials, to even the huddle when you're listening to
what you know, the players make calls and every once
in a while you're at f bomb drop on TV.
It's actually it's pretty entertaining. Um Now, I look, and
I just want you to know ahead of time, because
I would like to set up the show and tell
you these things ahead of time so you can know
(02:51):
what to expect. That golf tournament that's going on in
Pebble Beach, I'm not talking about it for a second
on this show. So if you're a golf fan, if
you're one of those dimple boys and you're into the
golf ball all and you think it's golf season because
the NFL is gone, take a walk. We're not talking
about that tournament. I don't care if you can fight
me on that. I am not talking about that golf tournament.
It's not I want no part in that, and I'll
(03:13):
i'll w I don't want to hear it. And this
goes for E rob because at some point I feel
like Eric Roberts is going to bring up the Grammys tonight.
I don't want to hear it. I don't even know
who's up for anything. Yeah, I have no interest in
that either. Sorry, just not not my thing. Yeah, I'll
go ahead and I'll pass on the Grammys. Uh does
(03:35):
anybody did see a highlight though of Cardi B walked
into the Grammys wearing a dress um that looked like
somebody's hand exploded. Like it's like it's all over them.
I sort of god like, it looks it looks like
a fire. It just looks dress. How could you possibly
compare a hand exploding to a dress? Okay, imagine somebody
(03:55):
holding a pipe bomb or a mortar bomb on on
fourth of July bay and the mortar bomb sounds better.
All right, what do you do? You want to call
it AFL? I want to call it a f tomato tomato.
I mean, this is how it works. But but she's
wearing this dress and it looks like a hand exploded,
like it's it's just a weird dress, that's all I noticed.
I know you're a big Cardi B guy. I don't
(04:17):
mean to disrespect your woman. Damn. I'm just saying I
don't know what that means, Like, Bobo, can you elaborate?
Have you ever seen a hand explode? And then what
that would look like then on a dress? I have not. Well, look,
if if one did, it would look like her dress.
But but I digress, Brady Quinn, we have got um. Now,
normally this is where I would say, we've got kickoff underway?
(04:38):
Can I can I just chime back and know I
do have inside inzel. I've got a statistician, if you will,
a helper from time to time who helps look up
things like this for me. I've just seen a picture
of Cardi B and dress. How how accurate was I? Um?
I actually think it looks like she's inside of a clam.
That's uh, That's how i'd look at it. More pearl
(05:02):
inside of a clam, That's that's how I would see
it there, or maybe even a She's like the inside
of a flower, like she's a blossoming flower. It looks
like a hand exploded. It looks like if there's a fire, though,
she'd have to be carried out because the way she's
walking in that thing, she cannot move very fast. It
looks like, um, it looks like a drunk tried to
feed a shark with a blindfold on. Is what it looks.
(05:23):
And there's whatever's on her head she's walking into in
a manner in which I don't I think she's worried
about it falling off there. This is wonderful radio, but
to just to paint the proper picture, imagine if they
showed the bottom half of Quint after Jaws bit into him.
That for people out there that want a real description
(05:44):
it is. It is a bizarre looking scene. I don't
understand it, but that is. That is the dress for
for CARDI BT compared. It's very very disturbing. It's you.
You reference Jaws more than anyone else. I don't know why.
It's what it looks like. It looks like she got
(06:04):
bitten a half. I what do you want me to
do with it? It's the best thing you can come
up with, um Brady. Now, please do not disrespect your support,
your brand new your favorite League all of a sudden,
the a F right, the American Alliance of Football, because
every time it was a f F, it's a F man,
I know what I'm talking about. A FO. You make
(06:27):
it sound like it's something else, like, okay, it's some
sort of you know, rehab group. It's not what I did. Okay,
and you leave your buddy Jake out of this. Okay.
But seriously, so we have got I was gonna say,
we've got kickoff underway, but unfortunately they don't do kickoffs
in the a F. So right now, we have got
the Arizona Hotshots and the Salt Lake Stallions, all right,
which sounds like a battle of two male strip clubs
(06:51):
going going toe to toe. And this is in uh,
this is at sun Devil Stadium, this is in Tempe.
And so so we've got Josh Woodrum, who's the starting quarterback.
Would drum, would drum? Okay, But first of all, it's
wood Rum. There's not two d s. There's one d.
It's would run. It's pronounced Woodrum. I think I'm more
(07:12):
familiar with his career than you are. So it's okay,
test me on it. Okay, Yeah, you have Wikipedia right now,
I don't have anything up right now. I get honestly,
I'm nothing up right now. How many legs? How many legs?
How many legs does Woodrum have? Yeah? Three? Okay, So
(07:33):
this is so we got the a F. You're good
with what you've seen so far? You like it? I
I do. I think there's okay. Look at the pace
of play is awesome. I think there's so many things.
I shouldn't say so many. There's a number of things
though the NFL is probably looking at and saying, that's
not a bad idea. We should implement this into our game,
for example, giving more access to the communication between the officials,
(07:57):
having the sky judge. Right, this this omnipotent overseeing power
that should be able to get any calls that are missed,
or any calls that are egregious, that are just that
bad that they need to correct. Right. So, like in theory,
all that is good. Now, how it's been applied, I
don't think it's been perfect. But it's also the first
weekend in the first the inaugural season of the league.
(08:19):
They just started up, so there's still some kinks to
work out. Um, the access into the huddle, and I
don't know if you've been watching some of this, dude,
but you can listen to them calling the plays. You
can listen to these guys communicating with everyone, and it's
pretty neat, Like don't you remember and it wasn't the
All Star Game if the Major League Baseball when they
were talking to one of the outfields, Yeah, I mean that,
you you It doesn't get any more real and cool
(08:42):
than that. And and to be able to kind of
all of a sudden listen in on what's being said
between guys who this is their last shot, man, I mean,
this is this is like that last chance you but
this is for real. And for some of these guys,
I think they said eight percent of them have been
on NFL rosters, so you know they're talented enough to
be there. It's the NFL is a lot of times
situation and circumstance and the hardest thing I think for
(09:05):
you know, players who you know are maybe on the
bubble and they don't they don't get the benefit of
the doubt, or they don't get that opportunity right because
they end up being in a bad situation, maybe they
get hurt. Is there's you know, you can practice all
you want, you can do drills all you want. There's
nothing like real, live game scenarios, and that's what coaches
a lot of times based their opinions off of. So
this gives them that opportunity to do it. And I
(09:26):
love it, man, honestly. I mean, I'm not sure if
you've seen some of the hits too. They're throwing flags.
Let me let me tell you something. We talked about
Quint and Jaws getting bit in half. Mike Bercovici looked
like Quint too after that hit. Mike Bercovici may as
well have just vaporized in in in mid air after
he got crushed in that game. So some of the
hits have been by and look, I like the idea
that these guys get a second chance. It's basically it's
(09:49):
it's the NFL preseason, man. That's that's really what it is.
And and so when people are are celebrating it, I
just want them to remember, because we hear a lot
of complaints about NFL preseason. The games are worthless. They
don't mean any ing to me. This is NFL preseason,
except these guys are trying to save their careers, all
of them. They're not just like getting a couple of
reps out there. So I'm good with all of that.
(10:10):
I'm good with the idea. I'm good with the access.
I'm good with the no on side kick, you have
to take the ball, you get one shot or else
the team gets the ball on the thirty five, No
no kickoffs, all that stuff. I'm totally okay with it
looks cheesy, man, it looks really okay. First of all,
the uniforms to start with. All right, okay, do you
(10:30):
know what it reminds me of any given Sunday? Yeah,
that's a bad thing, man, Are we gonna say it?
It wasn't exactly a great movie. Steven Willie Beaman, No, no, no.
First of all, I like, you know exactly where this
conversation is going to. He didn't want Steven Willie Beam
to be the starter. I did, Jonas sive already come
(10:54):
and I like the ladies. I mean, well, never mind,
but so so I look, any given Sunday, that's fine.
But when all of a sudden, an offensive lineman's got
a kimono dragon in the shower, um that he brought
with him. That you remember about the dragon into the shower.
I think there's been a number of showers. You're saying,
(11:19):
so like that happens, then next thing, you know, a
guy's eyeballs on the turf. I mean, come on, man,
Like the movie is not that great. It's and I know,
like al Pacino speech. Al Pacino speech is wonderfully done.
It's outstanding. But but Cap Rooney and someone just some
of the plays in there, it's not It's not exactly
the best sports saves the entire No, it's not the
best movie of sports movie. It's even the best football
(11:41):
movie of all time. Okay, First off, Varsity of Blues.
We'll not get into that. Um the speech itself, you
just say, oh, don't even come in. Did you just
say Varsity Blues? You name a better football movie? Remember
the Titans? Are we going with this one? I let
high school go man, high school knocking? Because the thing is,
(12:02):
you love Rudy and I can't. I can't make that claim.
It's bias. Okay, I don't one that talks about always
tearing up to Rudy for whatever reason you talked about,
just you know, being there on your undeasa bowl of
popcorn and a T shirt watching Rudy and tearing up.
I have no idea. What that wasn't That wasn't that
was magic Mike wrong movie. Okay, but but just this, Like,
(12:23):
so you're saying that this looks like um, any given
Sunday it looks then if that's the case, it looks
kind of cheesy. I think they could have done a
better job. I like the starter. Look, your biggest complaint
is how the uniforms. It's the it's the looks. It
looks cheesy man and has a cheesy vibe. Did you
see the stadium in Birmingham, Legion Field, which, by the way,
(12:44):
is the biggest dump in the history of mankind? You
think the O dot Co where the Raiders are potentially
playing again next year's bad. Legion Field is a hellhole
period It's one of the reasons why they lost football
for a while. But we're gonna say the uniforms are
mind me of the NFL color Rush, Like it's a
(13:06):
start up league. What do you like? You're complaining about
the uniforms, which isn't surprising because you're more into fashion
than most scoot dudes. But look, bottom line is, I
think there's a lot of things you can uh look
and and we've got that for those of you. Now
here's how we know if this actually made it to
the big time? All right, will Steve de Seger included
(13:26):
in his bottom of the hour update? If Steve, of course,
because because a guy practicing his guy practicing his chip
shot and two golf courses away, Steve would put in
the bottom of the hour update, all right, Just so,
so of course he's gonna put the a F in alright.
So the one thing Steve de Seger never thought he
(13:47):
would ever say on national radio, uh, fifteen of eighteen
two touchdowns for Josh Woodrum on a Sunday night. So
there's that. Actually, you can't find stats on this league,
which I consider a bed. Yeah, no kidding, Like I'm
telling you, like my my expectations weren't all that great.
So I'm okay with it. But I just I don't
(14:09):
think it's got a high success probability here. I just
I don't think there's a Why can't we talk about
this when we come back. Why don't you have how
do you have stats on something that just started, but
you can't stats of the game of the four track
You keep track of the game, I mean, somebody keep
track of the game. Look, look, we We did a
home run segment last week called Stats with Steve. All right, Like,
(14:30):
if anybody knows that they're talking about is Steve t Seger.
He's single handedly is the reason people know what happens
at a Chargers game, alright, So so treat him with
the respect that he deserves a right, treat him with
some damn respect, all right, Brady Quinn, Jodas knocks here
Fox Sports Radio as we come to you live here
from the get go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Coming up next.
There is though one aspect of the NFL that I
(14:52):
think is going to be helped by this league. All right,
And and this actually may end up pissing a lot
of people off. Find out what it is next here
on FS. From a car landing on a roof to
a car landing in the pool, we've covered it. Talk
to farmers. We know a thing or two because we've
seen a thing or two. We are farmers under written
my farmers truck fire insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable
(15:14):
in every state. He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This
is Fox Sports Radio updating you on the big game
going on on a Sunday night, we're right now. The
Arizona Cactus are scoreless with the Salt Lake Mormons in
your American Alliance of American Football Update here on Fox
(15:34):
Sports Radio. Oh man, it's just cheesy, man. I look,
I hope the league works, I really do. There's a
lot about it that I like. I like that these
guys are getting another chance to play. But it's it's
just what's the expectation here? I mean, do you think
it's really here to stay? Are people really gonna take
it serious? I think people are gonna take it serious
(15:55):
because you're going to see players move on to play
with NFL al teams and have some success. I mean,
think about, for example, NFL Europe, which that is what
you're trying to replicate in essence. I like the NFL Europe. Yeah,
the fire Yeah, which, by the way, go back and
look at those uniforms if you want to talk about cheesy.
(16:16):
Oh yeah, I'm telling you right now, who's is this
Arizona that's in THEE So the Arizona hot Shots they
are in uh what appears to me the Edmonton Eskimo
jersey from the CFL. I'm not kidding. And better than
that starter which yeah, happy. There's there's some street cred there, Bobo.
You know what I'm talking about? Starter man, Come on,
(16:38):
Starter was back in the day. Started jackets man, Puffy
Starter jackets Man. You couldn't you couldn't wear those Oakland
You couldn't wear those Okland Raider jacket l A Raiders
back in the day. Why not? Why couldn't you wear them?
I don't know. I'm just telling you, man, it was
Dallas and the Raiders. You had to be careful if
you're wearing them. I'm just saying, Bobo, back up on.
That's funny, be like, be careful. I don't know what
(16:59):
you're exactly what you're trying to say about that, Brad,
I don't know what you're trying to get at. I
think that anybody goes the most coveted, those were the
most I agree, Surrey A Surrey Sorry what? Sorry? What
is Brady Quinn racist? Idiot? That's new? That's a new
drop that we just get. That we get we're going
(17:20):
to for two weeks. Can we get see on full time?
And hey, you know what further that comment? What is
Brady against God? Yeah? I agree first and just started
jackets Now you kicking only black guy off the show.
That's crazy, dude. First off, can we go back to
the conversation we're trying to have before. Yeah, let's let's
(17:43):
go back to a breakdown on the Arizona Cactus. Um. So,
it wasn't that, it's it's it's supposed to mimic NFL Europe.
And what I mean by that is it's supposed to
be a league in which you get development, development at
so many different levels. So clearly you're looking at trying
to get developed and in players. Right. I think they
gets seven grand per game and they all get paid
(18:04):
the same. So that's that's the other interesting note to
all of this um and and look, I I could
talk about some of the complexities that come along with
with it's for some of these players too. But here's
the deal. Like Kurt Warner, he came from the real
league football, but also he was in NFL Europe. People
fail to realize that the dudes, you know, Hall of Famer.
So it only takes one guy like that to come
(18:26):
from this sort of developmental league to give you an
example of well there you go, right, and too much
like we always say when someone gets drafted in the
sixth round. Maybe he's the next Tom Brady, right. Um,
but it's not just for players, it's coaches, it's it's
officials as well. I mean this, These are resources that
really could benefit every single level of the NFL, from
(18:49):
the coaching to the players, to the officials, and even
in the broadcast cruise. So now you've got better people,
whether it's running replay during games during a crucial moment
or just providing a better broadcast. Asked for reviewers out there,
I don't like the access to them discussing the replay
review on the booth, okay, because I don't like the
transparency of it. I like the mystery. I like the
(19:11):
big route of intrigue. Yeah, like a little like the
big reveal. And I made this example on my highly
rated weekend overnight show that you didn't listen to because, um,
you were getting So we're not going to talk about
the overreaction with the Lakers. Well, now we'll get to
this at some point. I all carve out a little
piece of a little piece of time for them. But
I was like, I remember back in the day, probably ten, ten,
(19:32):
twelve years ago, the w b c UM the Boxing
Commission they put on they put on a fight card
at in Mexico, and because they were overseas, because they
were in Mexico in another country, they started to experiment
with reading the scorecards off in between rounds, so the
judges you could no longer have a card that was
(19:53):
just right off at the end of the fight. So
these fighters knew where they stood on the card, and
everyone thought, man, go and into it's a great idea.
I thought it would be a great idea, and I'll
be honest with you, man, it took away a lot
of the intrigue at the end if I already knew
who won, like it just it kind of left no
incentive he's going to go for a knock. I I know,
I understand that. Okay, I understand that. But there's a
(20:15):
lot of times where a guy doesn't really know where
he stands on the card, and so it's kind of
like this up in the air mystery. It's a big
reveal at the end, and believe it or not, I don't.
I don't think it's necessarily the most fair thing to
do to wait all that time and let a guy
think that he's winning a fight. But from a viewership standpoint,
it's much more exciting to wait till the end and
then get outraged. So the fact that we have access
(20:37):
and it's all transparent in the booth over a replay
review to me, if you can wait, build a little
bit of mystery and wait for the big reveal, and
then the fans get all outraged. Oh, I can't believe
what did they see? They're like, I don't need them
to discuss and go back and forth, and I think
they're playing up to the cameras in the booth anyway,
So there's that dee not to I think it's a
(20:59):
terrible example that you use because there's still gonna be intriguing.
Thin it's a terrible example. It couldn't be a worse
example because if anyone is actually watching the fight, you
usually have a pretty good feel of who is going
to win. And that's why there's a lot of times
some sort of controversy because of scoring. If everyone's sitting
there saying, yeah, I'm not an expert in boxing until
that guy won, and then it changes who ends up
(21:21):
winning at the end. Like I would like to see
more transparency throughout the course of a fight. That's it
would make it more schematic. How would it not. What
do you mean schematic? It would. It would allow them
to every single round understand where they're at and what
they need to do to accomplish a win. I understand,
and that's why I said if they read off the
scores in between rounds, it's it's more fair, no doubt
(21:43):
about it. But it does take away from at the
end of the fight, the big reveal, you know, like
it does. It does the guy's getting absolutely crushed, which
is probably gonna have a knocked on it. I'm talking
from a viewership standpoint, from just from watching it a
viewership standpoint. It takes away from it at the end. No,
it doesn't. It does. What do you mean if you
know what's going to happen before you get there, it
(22:03):
doesn't know You don't because you know that the guy
who's down is going to be trying to get a
knocked down that lass round, and you're going to watch
that last round and say, Okay, it's over. Now I
know who won because they didn't knock him out. I'm
talking about when they read off the scores. When they
why do you need to stay around for that anyway?
Because you want to know who wins. You already know
at the end of it, if the guy didn knock
him out, if you're paying attention to the entire time,
(22:25):
that's the point. I don't want to know until the
end save it. I'll wait a little bit. I'm not impatient,
like you not being impatient, they said, more fun. It's
like saying we don't know the score of a football
game and then all of a sudden gets revealed at
the end of the time. Could you imagine that, Yeah,
that's stupid awesome. That'd be amazing. You imagine like the
teams are just going up and down the field and
you have no idea whether or not they scored, or
(22:47):
one scene would be running the football the entire game thinking, well,
Bob who he's gotta run the football here, control the
clode time possession, or we're not really quite sure because
we don't have a score. We're gonna wait for the
big reveal at the end of the game. First of all,
first of all, please please don't turn into that broadcast
in the booth that you just try to do. And
that was that was my impersonation of Jonas, not what
are you talking about, man, I'd be all fired up
(23:09):
about the fog Bowl Bears Eagles back in the day.
Come on, man, nobody knew what's going on. The prom
is you derailed this entire conversation away from the example
that has one. This league could provide a great resource
to the NFL. One of the reasons why the NFL
hasn't necessarily partnered with the a f L yet is
because their biggest mistake in their minds with NFL Europe
(23:30):
was each owner was chucking over like a million bucks. Right,
so let's say that league costs a thirty some million
in order to be able to do overseas, and now
they don't have to worry about that. Like they want
to see a business model that's self sustaining that they
can then partner with and then help utilize and bringing
up some of this young talent and officials and everything
else that goes along with it. And look, it could
(23:51):
be a guinea pig for some of the rule changes,
right like that, that's some of the intrigue as well.
It's like a thirty five second play clock, no kickoffs, uh,
teams going for two every single possession. That's kind of interesting.
You're gonna see an overtime at some point where two teams.
They can't kick a field goal. They get the ball
at the ten and they have four downs to go
score Like that stuff is pretty fun to watch. Like
(24:12):
it's gonna be interesting to see. And I think it's
it's gonna be a kind of a guinea pig in
some ways, so I think it will last and and
and going back to the comment about like it being
able to sustain itself. They have opened themselves up to
the world of gambling, baby, and it is awesome. They
have their own app. If you download it you can
(24:33):
guess and I think even maybe bet I'm not sure
because i haven't uh downloaded it yet, but I'm going
to at some point. Um, you can even bet on
what do you think the next place is gonna be
a past run? You know, deep, intermediate, short or whatever it's.
I'm telling you, man, it's it's gonna be cool. I
think once this thing gets going, it could work. The
biggest issue it's gonna have is, um, there's there's gonna
(24:55):
be there's not gonna be as much parody. I mean,
bottom line, there's gonna be good teams and team is
that that are going to be far superior to some
of the others. And that's more based on how uh
they've created all these teams because like Orlando, for example,
pulls from a lot of the Florida schools or like
some of the Southeastern schools, so they get a lot
of talent. That's a lot of Yeah, so he was
(25:19):
wise to sign up with that team. San Antonio was
another talented team. So like that that actually that's set up,
could make it seem where there's not a lot of
parody between some of the teams. But again it's not
a long season anyway. So all right, so we've got
we've got more because it's something that everybody had as
a child, is actually back. All right if you if
(25:40):
you add this or if you watched sports back in
the nineties, if you watched it in the early two thousand's,
trust me, it is back. I'll explain what that is
coming up next year on fs ARE. But for all
the latest from around the world of sports, it's none
other than Stephen de Sager. Good evening, gentlemen, And by
the way, the overnight TV ratings from last night, the
Alliance of American Football at two point on tying the
(26:01):
NBA broadcast. It was competing against ABC still not as
good at not as good as the college basketball on cable.
They had a Duke for Virginia matchup last night, but
still impressive enough. And that was night number one of
weekend number one. This will go till April. Final in
from the NBA, Sacramento is just one again beat Phoenix
one seventeen, one oh four. Of course, Phoenix has lost
(26:22):
fourteen in a row. Now Philadelphia put away the Lakers,
especially in the final quarter. It was a one forty three,
one twenty final against l A. Despite thirty nine points
from Kyle Kuzma. Dallas was down fifteen early fourth quarter
and still defeated Portland one oh two to one oh
one final seconds till halftime, Orlando leading sixty three forty eight.
At Atlanta. The Hawks record with a lost and I
(26:44):
would be eighteen and thirty eight. Meanwhile, Golden State's going
for win number forty. That's the late game about to
start in just a few minutes, Golden State hosting Miami.
The Warriors first in the West two and a half
games over Denver, which has lost three in a row.
Boston's Kyrie Irving is day today with a strain at
an m R I today for the NBA. The All
Star Game is in Charlotte. A week from tonight, College
(27:05):
basketball number twelve Houston now twenty three and one after
its victory against twenty fifth ranks Cincinnati Anaheim Ducks coach
and Randy Carlile was fired. DAYTONA five qualifying was today
on Fox. William Byron earned the poll the five hundred.
A week from today on Fox TV, they're not going
to finish the final round of golf at Pebble Beach,
(27:25):
but Phil Makeleson on the fifteenth hole is leading by
three strokes and they're going to complete it in the
Bay Area at eight am Pacific tomorrow morning, free entry fees,
and so for those who it's not supposed to rain
tomorrow either, but they had a couple of rain delays,
so they're going to finish it tomorrow in northern California.
We'll be back to the show in ten seconds. But first,
(27:46):
a word from farmers. From a dog accidentally flooding a
living room to a dog taking a joy ride, we've
covered it. Talk to farmers, we know a thing or two.
Because we've seen a thing or two. We are farmers
under written my farmers. Jock firings in exchanges and affiliates
products not available in every state. Jonas Knox, Brady Quinn
back to you, Thanks Steve. It's Knox and Quinn Fox
(28:06):
Sports Radio. Coming up in just a moment, we will
tell you about something you had as a child, something
that you grew up with that has actually made its
triumphant return. Right, it's made its triumphant return. So we'll
get to that here momentarily. Are you liking how they're
also phasing out kickers in this league? Brady? They're actually
not if you've watched, because the kickers have been pretty
active as far as fuel goals go. And uh, it's
(28:28):
it's a little bit surprising because they've been pretty accurate.
It makes you wonder, why are these guys so accurate? Yet?
Are are guys in the The NFL wasn't quite the same?
Are you gonna play? Uh no, why not know this?
This league isn't for me? This league is you see
you painted this league wrong. You painted this league as
like a last chance and some No, no no, there's some
(28:50):
elements of that. But for a lot of these guys,
they really never got started. Like, yeah, there's a trend Richardson,
but for every trend Richardson, there's probably two or three
guys who you know, don't have enough tape and that's
why they're in this league because they're trying to get
some game experience. And then there's other guys who like
Aaron Murray for example, he's a backup quarterback in Atlanta.
Like he's a guy who got drafted. He was you know,
(29:11):
with I think the kand City Chiefs for a little bit,
maybe a couple of their teams, and now he's been
doing broadcasting and it's like he's got to decide whether
or not if he wants to try to ride this
thing out and see if he gets some pt or
if he just wants to go back to his broadcasting
job like that. That that's some of the real decisions
these guys have to make. It It's it's kind of
interesting maybe when when you peel back the curtain and
look at it, it is interesting. If you were still
(29:32):
wanting to play, would you consider this league? Uh, if
I was in the position where I felt like it
would help me, Yeah, if I was if I was
in the position where I feel like I needed more
film and um or needed to like prove something in
that regard. Yeah, but again, I think the one thing
that this league um is going to struggle with is
if you're on a bad team, it can look bad
(29:53):
for whatever quarterback. That is because that team typically doesn't
have any good offensive linemen. And that's one thing that
stood out big time as as we as we saw
Mike Berkovitch almost lose his head. Oh my god, I can't.
I was so conditioned to watching the NFL. Not only
was I looking for a flag, I thought they were
going to come out and arrest whoever hit him. I
thought he was gonna go away. That's that's that's the NFL.
That's not the A. No, I know that's I'm so
(30:15):
I'm so conditioned to the NFL that I was just
waiting for somebody to call the penalty. I was waiting
to league. I got to see there was a hit
that Matt Simms, who's Phil Sims? Yes, do you see
the one he took at the end of the game
buried No, that was exactly I was gonna describe it
like I was like, I think he literally was driven
like three feet under, like there was a chance he
was gonna have to take a dirt nap after that. Um, yeah, so,
(30:38):
but but again, I think I think you could play
in this leage. I think you could play in this
league right now. I think you're better than every quarterback
in this league. That's called supporting. You should try you
should try those out sometimes. I just wanted to tell
you thanks for thanks for being here today. Yeah you
got it, man, that's as close as you'll probably I
have not been treated worse through thirty eight minutes of
(30:59):
programming with de quinnan this show. And I thought I
thought he was going to be excited about it. I
thought he was that he was going to be excited
about it. I still am waiting for my first compliment
of the entire year, and I have not gotten one yet.
A bunch of crap. What bobo, what bobo? Give me
the look. I was going to say something, but a
bit my tongue. How was that going to go? Yeah?
(31:22):
I kidding, all right. So here's the here's the big,
big grand announcement here, Brady Quinn when it comes to
the A A F that they have brought back something
that we grew up with right now, I'm not talking
about those Zuba pants, those uh, those like leopard pants
that are like sweatpants, but they everything flops around, like
(31:45):
you really got any compression shorts when you got those,
because everything flops around with those old Zuba Zuba pants
back in the day, you know those Zuba pants, those
NFL Zuba pants, those like stripe. Aren't they called Zuba's? Yeah?
I think I don't ever. I mean, look, I played
in the NFL. I don't ever remember the being called zubas. Yeah,
they were like back in the like the late eighties
(32:06):
and nineties, like there's yeah, they're called Roberts. They're called zubas, right,
Zubas z u b a z zubas zay like like
they don't really support a lot in the in the
frontal region. So it's like the hammer pats unless unless,
unless you're proud of of of your gifts. It's compressions
(32:29):
your time, all right, it is you do not need
everything flopping, right, That is a doing jumping Jack's um.
People can people can tell everything, all right, So this
is not even about those, right, because I know you
have a pair of those. What are what are we talking?
I know that I know that you have a pair
of those. I know you're currently wearing a pair of
those this is about starter jackets, all right, Eric Roberts
(32:51):
has a major development when it comes to starter jackets.
So we go live now to our starter jacket in
the a F which won't be around a year and
a half. League insider Eric Rowberts Roberts, Yes, guys, so
startup league, but not startup prices for the startup starter jackets.
Any guesses as what a starter jacket will put you
back for the Arizona hot Shots? Can we get some
(33:13):
game show music here, like some some sort of music
so we can actually guess this? Alright, So guess is now?
Who's who's going to take part in this? Is it
just me and Brady Quinn? Or do you want alright? Alright,
so Steve, me, Brady and Steve di Seger. All right,
so here we go. Uh price for an Arizona Arizona
hot Shots started jacket off of the official shop a F.
(33:36):
Now just now, let me think about this out loud,
because looking at their team colors, they look like in
Mike and Ike Box. So I'm gonna say, nobody's really
going to go over the top and charging full price
of this. I'm gonna go thirt Alright, Brady, you want
to take a guess. I go first, I'll go, I'll
guess because that way I'm closer. That's come on, I
(34:01):
wouldn't gonna be forty dollars in one cent. I mean,
come on, that's that's now. I was thinking forty or
fifty honestly, okay, uh, I was gonna say, guys, you
are all very very far off. It will cost you
one hundred and sixty dollars for a starter jacket by
starter for the Arizona hot Shots. But just did that
come with shoulder pads and and a net call there?
(34:24):
So there's two different versions, you know, the one with
the little uh the button up. There's that one that's
a hundred and three dollars, and then there's the you know,
the typical starter with the logo cross belly half fifty
nine dollars, and they have of those. Though I might
for an Arizona Yeah, we need to pick teams, but
I hadn't want Arizona. I'm gonna think of Spurs. Oh yeah,
Orlando Apollos be to man Or Atlanta, that or Atlanta.
(34:47):
One of my buddies coaches for them. So I think
I'm gonna yeah, I'm gonna go either Spurrier's team or
I'm thinking about the same team Ago San Diego Fleet. Yeah,
do they have the same security there charges Okay, I'm
not not quite sure. I don't you would think that
those those Zuba's pants, I mean that would that would
(35:08):
work really well for their security department. Oh yeah, let
me tell you something. That guy, Yeah, he he took
full advantage of those uh cut holes in the pockets too.
All right, Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here. Fox Sports Radio
won't let you know where company you live from the
Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, or it's easy to say
fifteen per center More on car insurance with Geico, go
to Geigo dot com. We're called eight seven Auto. The
(35:30):
only hard part figuring out which way is easier. I
am hearing reports and seeing rumblings about the return, about
the return, and I don't know what he's gonna do.
I think I've bet Jesus is back and he's next
year on FSR was landing on a car to a
load of concrete falling on one. We've covered it. Talked
(35:52):
to farmers, we know a thing or two because we've
seen a thing or two. We are farmers under my
farmers took fires in exchanges and affiliates products unavailable in
every state. That was karate Kid. It sounds like a
song on the Karate Kid. It didn't you tell me
it didn't screw you? Then? All right, Jonas knocks Brady
Quinn Fox Sports Radio. Karate Kid. Yeah, that the beginning.
(36:16):
It sounded like the one of the songs on Karate Kid. No,
it did, No, it did. What was the what was
the karate movie with the kids who were like one
was like wearing red, one was blue, that they were
really small though really young. That was it? Three nintas.
It reminds me more of a song from that movie.
Great recall, Bobo. I just liked you like that movie.
(36:40):
I know. I know Jonas didn't see it so since
I've seen it, so but it was good. I was
gonna watch it and then I just came on living
my life. It made you think when you were young,
like you could learn karate and like just whoop someone's
but you know, not me. I wasn't about violence. That's funny.
It's not me, not my thing, alright, So so guy,
(37:03):
there at another another put down by Brady. We're at
seven so far in the first hours, Brady continues his
triumphant return by treating me like garbage on the airs
weird seven put downs an insult from Brady Quinn so
far throughout the first fifty minutes of the show. For
those of either are keeping track, you can't keep track
of this. You just can't keep track of the stats
in the a F because they don't keep score. So
(37:24):
there's that, all right. You can check what the score is.
By the way, we are brought to you by Discovered.

I think it's gonna be making an appearance here momentarily.
(37:45):
I have no idea what he's gonna bet on him,
what's he gonna bet on the n B A, NHL,
what's out there? Who knows the AFL that game is
still going on? Actually is. It's so fast paced it's
almost over with. I was stunned by the way you
love it being fast paced because you're a broadcaster and
you hate four hour college football games. That's why you
like about that. I don't know about that. If you're
(38:08):
sick of sweating. Now you know what it is. If
there's twelve minutes of actual football being played and it
takes three and a half hours to broadcast, there's something
wrong with that, right, I'm just saying as a viewer,
I love the fact that you don't see really commercial breaks,
like they kind of go to that two box shot
or the commercial ends up being the larger the two,
(38:29):
but then they go right back to the game. Like
I actually enjoyed the fact that you never really feel
like you're leaving the game. I think I'm stunned at
how supportive you are. I was taking a sip of
my coffee. Okay, that's what it was. Yeah, that's all
I was doing. I think you for pointing that out
on the air, Mr. Mr have a sandwich while we're
in the middle of a segment. But what if what
(38:49):
if I done? You have done that? Multiple? Do you
do that? When you're you got Jersey Mike sent to
a studio in Arizona. You're not selling the folks. See
you got me in the intermittent fastening things. Just starved
myself all the all the time through our show. Was
that a sort of a compliment there, Yeah, sort of unbelievable.
Be still my heart. Uh As Brady Quinnitt just continues
(39:10):
to impress in this show so far. Uh So, so
what do you think here, Brady, what do you think
Lived Jesus is gonna bet on? Any any guesses? If
you had to guess, what do you think he's gonna
bet on? Well? The tough thing is it had to
be the a f L because we've talked about it
so much, and uh, I thought, there's not really stats
to go by. Those are hard to find. You can't
find the score though, and I'm sure there isn't over
(39:31):
under somewhere because again, they have accepted a lot of
the sports betting angles from all this. It's one of
the reasons why I think they're gonna be sustainable and
they are actually gonna last for more than just one year.
Oh my god, here we go. He look he's been
gone too. When we don't do the show together, he
doesn't appear, which is very odd. Anytime Brady's not here. Yeah, everything,
(39:51):
Brady's not here. Uh live at Jesus is not here.
But the lights are completely out in the studio. You
cannot see anything, not even the Grammys, and not even
Cardi B's exploding dress that she walked into the ceremony with.
Pitch black skies are opening up. A piece of paper
now falling down onto the desk. I will read its
contents on the air, so you know we're on the
up and up here at Fox Sports Radio. It is tonight,
(40:17):
on the tenth day of February nineteen that I live
met Jesus proclaimed the pick to be the Salt Lake
Stallions plus eleven and a half. Are you serious, Brady?
He bet on the Mormons can a f baby. So,
as it turns out, I think we've probably just overreacted
a bunch this week in sports. We'll explain what that
(40:40):
is coming up here in just a couple of moments.
He is Brady Quinn. I am Jonas Knox is his
Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to the show on
the I Heart Radio app, and we do it all
live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, where fifteen
minutes could save you fifteen center more on car insurance.
Visit Geico dot com for a free rate quote. We've
got so many different sports going on at one time.
(41:03):
It's like a cornucopia. We've got. I mean, there's boxing,
there's hockey, there's basketball. You've got the a F, which
is not a professional wrestling organization. It's actually a lower
level of football that's trying to get off the ground
and doing great ratings in its opening weekend. My god, Brady,
who said we were gonna be lost without the NFL,
(41:23):
We're not lost at all. It's kind of interesting too
when you hear people who are like trying to say
I don't know what to do without football, and they're like, oh,
actually I have it. And I don't get too much
back into that conversation because we spent the first hour
on the Alliance of American your choice. Hey, I'm just
I'm saying there there's a buzz about it, like like, all,
I'll put it up against this. So you know, typically
(41:43):
when there's a buzz about something, right like you could
just kind of walk out and walk around and for
for for me, this past weekend, I had a buddy
in town. So as you walk by some of the bars,
what is his name, Jake? Jake? Uh? Have I met him?
You have? You have? No? Actually you met him? You
guys had a number of drinks together in a place
called Vasso rooftop. Here's always always stopping there? Is that
(42:06):
what we did. Here's the truth about Jake. All right,
first time I ever meet this human being in my
entire life. It's ten thirty in the morning at a
golf tournament. I have Starbucks in my hand and he
hands me a shot at Jamison. That was my introduction
to Jake. Yeah. Continue, uh so, Jake, who who can
(42:26):
drink like a drink like a fish? Um, We're walking
by different bars and as you as you look and
kind of look at TV screens see what's on. I'm
telling you the majority of them had on the a
f L. Like most people were kind of curious to
see what it looked like. How would be So it
was either that, like it was either the curiosity or
(42:47):
was just the fact that people want football, And it's
probably a combination of the two. But I know we've
got to get to some other stuff. Because it did
go up head head to head against the NBA, and it,
you know, scored off fairly well yeah, no, it won
like it beat In some reports, either they either were
tied or the a f had better ratings than the
(43:08):
NBA did on Saturday night, and so I think, really
the telltale sign is going to be what they do
in week two. The XFL had the same thing where
everybody went nuts. The first week. The ratings were through
the roof. People were stunned at how well they did,
and then they slowly started to diminish down the stretch.
I would have waited a little bit, uh to start
the league five or six days after the NFL season
(43:28):
was over. To me, seems a little rushed. What do
you think was behind the decision to start it that soon? Uh?
For a couple of a couple of reasons. One, it
gives these players the opportunity to be able to play.
And then if you think about when the first day
of the new league year is, it's marchte. So if
you start up and you knock out a good portion
of your season before free agent even starts, it then
(43:52):
allows these guys to be evaluated and again these are
back into the roster guys about your top free agents,
but your top free ah, you don't have to do
a whole lot of work on right, Like if if
Levian Bell is a free agent and we went a
running back, how much work do you really need to do?
On Levian Bell, it's you're watching a lot some film
and seeing if if it's a scheme, fit and character
and all that. It's probably more of the contract and
(44:14):
what he's gonna agree to. So m for some of
these guys that are on the back end of a roster,
it is more film. It is more like watching what
they're doing in these games and then figuring out. But
I think they realized there was a soft spot in
you know, all of sports. Right, you're not getting the
NBA right now in the postseason, You're not having to
go up immediately against March madness, right. Basketball for college
(44:35):
basketball is winding down, but they're not quite there yet.
So you kind of hit the soft spot where you
can create some buzz showcase this league. It's that that
that's different, and I think you're gonna be able to
attract and maybe keep some of these football fans. Um
who who miss it? You know, to be quite honest
with you, Um, it's weird because while we were, you know,
reeling from the Super Bowl and the NFL and all
(44:57):
this stuff, and the a f is starting up this week.
It was crazy. I was so I was hearing that
you know, the Lakers season was over, you know, because
they like all these trade rumors were out there and
nobody ended up getting traded and guys had their feelings hurt.
So I was reading that the season is over. And
then you know, they go to Indiana and they get
blown out and it just looked really, really bad. And
(45:18):
then then they go to Boston a couple of days later,
and then I'm hearing that, oh, the season is saved.
That was a season saving performance by the Lakers. What
a gutsy effort by the Lakers. So I thought, man,
for sure, this team is on a roll. Like there there,
they are back big time. And then I was turning
on uh and and going back and forth between the
Birmingham a F game and the NBA game that was on,
(45:41):
and it was the Lakers, and I just assumed, while,
I mean, the season is saved, and uh no, they
got blown out by Philadelphia. So I'm confused here, Brady,
is the season saved? Is it not saved for the Lakers?
Well for starters? Uh Lebron James is still on their team, right, Yes, yeah,
I still think they're gonna make the playoffs. I don't
know what that means for this season as far as
whether or not it's saved. Um, Lebron James is still
(46:04):
on your team. There's times in Cleveland where people would
question their ability to have a certain seed or see
where they're at the East, or oh, maybe this is
the year that they're not going to make it to
the NBA Finals. Um, so until I actually see him,
you know, not makeup postseason, I give them every chance
in the world because he's still the best player in
(46:24):
the world at this point. Now, maybe there's some guys
closing that gap, whether it's just you know, and I
ended a compo or whoever else you want have thrown
to that conversation. But still to me, like, I'm not
in panic mode. If on the Lakers, I think, if
if anything, you've just got to fight figure out a
way to mend some of the issues that may have
came up the past week or so, because I have
(46:45):
seen guys deal with that, and it is real and
it can get really really dicey. Okay, give me an example.
Do you have an NFL example where a guy whose
name was floated in a trade rumor and then it
didn't get done, so he's got to go back home
and and still play for that same team. Yeah. I
mean cal Orton was supposed to be traded to the
Miami Dolphins. Um the year that we were in the
lockout heading into the twenty eleventh season, and everyone thought
(47:09):
it was all but done. And all of a sudden,
we come out of the lockout. Uh, they don't agree
to the deal. There's there's no trade. But it was,
it was. It was pretty well known that it was
going to happen or almost happened. And so now you've
got a guy who you know didn't come to any
of the workouts we had as a team. Granted again,
we were locked out of our facility at that point,
(47:29):
so we had to meet as a team at like
Valor Christian Academy workout, throw routes, do all that that,
do all that stuff. Uh, and and it was mostly me.
Tim Tebow was there a little bit too. Um. But
and then cal Orton, who you know, really didn't show
up for any of because he was expecting to get traded,
ended up not happening. Next thing, you know, there's abbreviated
training camp and and he's showing up in camp and
(47:50):
it's just it's awkward, like there's there's a certain sense
of you know, Okay, this didn't go through for whatever reason,
but now I've got to play this thing out and
I and I really don't want to, um, because once
you get those expectations up that someone else wants you
and you might be able to go to a better scenario. Uh,
it kind of it kind of leaves you frustrated, right
when when that scenario doesn't play outs so you can
(48:11):
actually be there. But um, you know, look at the
end of the day, you know they were ended up
parting ways that season anyway. Um, but it was just
there was a little bit of awkward this, especially as
training camp turned around. Um. The part that I find
comical is Magic Johnson is kind of his messaging throughout
this whole thing is Yeah, I'm gonna meet with the
team and give him a hug. And you know, this
(48:32):
is just business. This is part of the business, This
is part of the of the NBA, This is just
the way it goes. He has no idea what this
part of the business is. He was never traded, He
never had his name floated in trade rumors, neither Lebron.
They have no idea what these guys are feeling they have.
They have. They don't know whether or not they're gonna
be able to mend fences with these guys. And with
all the leaks that are coming out of there, and
now you got LaVar Ball shooting his mouth off again,
(48:54):
everyone just assumes, all they won that game in Boston,
everything's good to go here. Guys, so much had to
go your way to win that game in Boston. You
did things that you had never done in the history
of the franchise, raygion Rondo hitting a shot, a ball
bouncing your way twice late in the game. Like, you
can't just take one game and assume all that's the fix. All.
(49:14):
This is the way it works. It's an eighty two
game season. Much like we overreacted to the Indiana loss.
I think we overreacted to the Boston win and it
kind of averaged out because they got a beating in
Philadelphia on Sunday. So it is interesting you bring up
how those players feel, because when you plan a team
with Lebron James, you already feel pressure. I mean, this
is a guy who's he's got a streak of going
(49:36):
to the NBA Finals, having a ton of success in
his career, he's viewed as the best player in the world,
maybe one of the greatest of all time, right, and
so you already feel the pressure of playing with a
guy like that because you know, look, you don't want
to let him down. I mean, it's human nature, like
you don't want to be the guy or the team
to stop him from achieving his goals, are not having
him part in being historic, right, And then there's this
(49:58):
element of like in you already, right, like like you
you know you're not as gonna have a basketball player
as him. And then when you're missing a shot, when
he dishes to you when you're wide open, or if
you're not playing the way the type of defense or
whatever it is that he's maybe expecting of you, you
feel inferior. And you especially feel inferior when you know
they were trying to shop you so they could get
a better player in there that could make the difference.
(50:20):
So that's the patchwork, Like, that's the hardest thing that
they have to work on, is the ego of all
these guys because they're still gonna be dealing with the
same pressure, but now the difference is they're gonna they're
gonna lack the confidence that they maybe had a little
bit of before thinking that Lebron was coming there because
of them to some degree, right, like this young talented
team that has some different pieces on it. That was
(50:41):
the narrative when he got there. Right, as much as
it was a family decision, it was about some of
the other pieces that they had. And now you look
at the narrative and it's like, oh, yeah, no, the castaways,
we couldn't get rid of them, so they're they're still
hanging around the island, like like Wilson the volleyball, still
hanging around, and we couldn't get rid of them. So
he's just gonna have to stay and be a part
(51:01):
of the scene. By the way, do you think in
a deleted scene what's the name of that movie is it? Uh? Yeah?
Do you think in a deleted scene because they thought
it wasn't appropriate that he attempted to make love with
that volleyball at some point, well, there wasn't much there
to make love with. Theres looked. I mean, desperate times
called for desperate measures. I'm just saying, like, do you think,
I mean you never know? Like, look you see the
(51:22):
movie alive. They were eating each other. I mean, you
never know, I think crazy things happen when you're stranded. Man,
I I'm not even sure how that would work, right,
the guy doesn't have any Well yeah, look but you
know what I mean though, right, I mean, you get
it all right? I don't either. I realized it didn't
(51:46):
make much sense. So there's there's that. By the way,
Nick Folk just made a fifty three yard field goal.
There you go, Nick Folks have been the hero. I know,
why are they so good? Because there's nobody in this
in the stadiums, there's no noise. Why are they so good?
They come on, they've they've had a few thousands. Who
(52:06):
does who does Cody Parky kick for in the A
F Is anybody? Uh? We found a spot for Cody
Parky in the age? Why will you not include the L? Why?
Why do you just leave off the I don't like
the a f L. It sounds weird. Man just called
the Alliance. That's that's what every else. I don't want
to call the Alliance. It sounds like a rap group.
It does kind of sound like a rap group, it does.
I don't want to do that. In Jonas's defense on
(52:28):
the television right now, in the top corner, of the screen.
It does just simply say a a F I noticed
that with the branding by CBS, like it has the
I and then it just says a fan I. The
eye is what they call the CBS IS logo. Literally,
(52:49):
it is not yeah, I know it's a it's a
one eyed monster. It is a or is. The Latinos
say sik lope. You know that means cyclops don't be
a So keep up with me, will you? All right?
Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here Fox Sports Radio, what the
hell is happening here? We'll let you know. When shopping
for car insurance, consider this. Geico has been saving people
(53:11):
money on car insurance for over seventy five years. So
if you're serious about savings, it's simple go to Geico
dot com. After seventy five years, they know how to
save you money. We have a big announcement to make
here on the show, and I'm just gonna do it
now because operators are gonna be standing by. We have
a thousand phone lines. When the NFL season ends, there's
a new season that begins, and that new season is
(53:32):
called headline or lie it is back. If you've heard
the show before, you know what we're talking about. It's
the hottest game show in sports talk radio on a
Sunday night. So headliner Lie is coming up at the
bottom of the hour about fifteen minutes from now here
on fs ARE. If you want an opportunity to be
a part of it, you can team up with either
myself and win or losing. Team up with Brady Quinn
(53:54):
eight seven seven nine nine on Fox eight seven seven
six six three six nine Headliner Lie the return coming
up fifteen minutes from now Up next, though, I'm gonna
ask Brady what the most awkward situation in sports how
it should be handled? All right, I'm gonna get a
professionals opinion on how it should be handled, and we'll
(54:15):
give that who you next here on fs ARE for
a car landing on a roof to a car landing
in the pool, We've covered it. Talk to farmers. We
know a thing or two because we've seen a thing
or two. We are farmers under written my farmers truck
fire insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable in every state.
This Pantera Jonas knocks Brady Quinn Fox Sports Radio. I
(54:40):
can think about it is just a hand exploder that
someone putting it on, the pieces of putting it on.
Look at her dress. I don't know what it's supposed
to be. Maybe like a flower. It looks like yeah,
it looks like she crawled through like the middle of
a flower. And they're like bloom, yeah, they yeah. Maybe
that's a better description than than quint from Jobs getting
(55:01):
bit in half. By the way, if you're wondering what
we're talking about, Cardi b showed up to is it
the Grammys or like the MTV Awards Grammys showed up
to the Grammys in a dress that didn't look like
a dress. We'll just put it that way. They tried
a little too hard, very very e centric, gigantic clam
(55:23):
How does she sit down? How do you just ignore
what he just said, Bobo, because she does the same
way everyone else does. Alright, buddy, how does she sit down?
I'm not touching any of these I'm not touching idiots
at all. I refuse to go down this road with
anybody here. I'm not doing it. But a fair question, bobo.
(55:45):
And we will talk about it now or four in
full detail. I'm excited to looking forward to it, all right, Um,
so we will. So I'm gonna ask Brady Quinn about
how you would handle an issue in the world of sports.
All right, because this is we talked to the Awk
situation with the Lakers. This maybe even more awkward, so
we'll get to that here momentarily. Want to let you
know when shopping for car insurance, consider this. Geico has
(56:08):
been saving people money on car insurance for over seventy
five years. So if you're serious about savings, it's simple,
go to Geico dot com. After seventy five years, they
know how to save you money. Headliner Lie, The Return
the Debut, The season premiere of Headliner Lie is coming
up less than ten minutes from now. If you want
to be a part of it. Eight seven seven ninety
(56:29):
nine on Fox. You can team up with myself or
Brady Quinn as we try and stump each other with
headlines are lies eight seven dramatic pause for a reason
I don't know eight seven seven three six nine. Only
two can get in if you've got the guts and
you want to play the hottest game show on Sunday
(56:51):
nights in Sports Stock Radio eight seven seven nine on Fox.
All right, let me ask you this. You're the New
Orleans Pelicans, d m b A has told you, if
you rest Anthony Davis, we're going to find you a
hundred thousand dollars each game. What do you do? Well?
I think there's a there's a couple of things that
(57:12):
play here. Why is this all being put on the team?
Does Anthony Davis not want to play? Well, No, he
wants to play, but they want to protect their investment. Right,
So there's the option which is sitting in the rest
of the year, Yes, right, which would be what I
think I would do if I was the team and
I'm really worried about his trade value going down with
an injury. Um, that would be more the route I
(57:35):
would take, And I would just turn around and talk
to the other owners in the league and say tough luck,
because really, there's only twenty eight of you who are
upset about this, right, because we're not upset about it.
We need to we need to make sure we can
save him to be a tradeable asset and healthiest, we
can maximize what we can get out of it. And
the other team that's trading for him doesn't want him
to be hurt. So there's there's another team involved this too,
(57:58):
Somewhere out there. I also kind of think it's bog
said the league is going to find him a hundred
thousand dollars for doing what's better for their business. I
think that's kind of ridiculous, right, I mean, I think
it's a little bit too much oversight, although you do
understand the slippery slope that that can kind of come
into play here, right all of a sudden, the stars
of the league that drive ratings maybe a reason why
the a F is is equipped. Good man, the l
(58:23):
is unnecessary. That's a good man right there. So um,
I mean to me, I don't I don't really understand
what the league would have as big of a deal
with it, even though I understand what's behind it. I mean,
the last thing you want, especially at the end of
the season, is your star players that everyone's coming out
to see that the people are supposed to be tuning
in to watch on a part of those games because
the resting for the playoffs. I mean it's kind of
(58:44):
similar in this sense too. I mean, Anthony Davis may
be resting, but just for a different postseason, more like
the off season. Do you have an issue with the
amount of control that players have in the NBA? Do
you think it's gone a little bit too far. The
fact that they are dictating terms and telling teams trade me.
I'll only go here. I I love the idea of
players having more control than maybe players do in the NFL,
(59:06):
but it feels like we've gone, like we've jumped the shark,
Like it's gone a bit too far. Now not always
be a players guy and a union guy like I
think it's awesome that they've been able to take a
tough stance and look, they use the platform that they
have as good as any professional sport. I will never
hold that against them. Now. Granted they're they're lucky because
(59:27):
their faces on TV all the time. They have endorsement
deals that I don't want say trump what they're making
from the team, but sometimes do in some cases. And
so when you when you look at the economics of it,
I will never say a bad word about what NBA
players have been able to do to build up their
brand and build up how much power they have when
(59:48):
it comes to negotiating with the owners, so that that's
not an issue for me. Here's what they should do.
The Pelicans right, because they want to protect their investment
um and I actually think they've got a couple of
different ways they can handle this. Um. They can either
treat this as a farewell tour and have fans come
out for one last opportunity to to get a look
(01:00:08):
at Anthony Davis. Is a New Orleans pelicate because the
way they've they've handled this, they're probably never going to
land a big time free agent ever. Okay, like the
way that they've handled this, they've probably shot themselves in
the foot when it comes to trying to attract big
time free agents because they do come across looking petty.
It's funny what they did to the Lakers all that,
So they can milk it while they got it, all right,
So that's one way they can do it. Or they
(01:00:29):
can just start faking injuries. All right. So now you
being an athlete, you tell me what are some injuries
that you can fake so that he doesn't play that
nobody's gonna double check you. On hamstring right off the
bath that was the go go to in the NFL week.
(01:00:52):
That was the move. That was the move. It was
a hamstring. And it's the easiest to kind of act
out to you know, you run out there, you just
act like in the back of your mind, you're just
thinking you got shot with a pellet gun or with
a paintball gun at the back of the leg and
you just you grab it, you know, you jump back
and you start grabbing. You start limping and hopping around
(01:01:13):
thinking oh no, and you've gotta make sure it's high
by the way, if you grab too close and your
hamstring down by the knee, not gonna be able to
sell it. Because they think you might be able to
be be there, especially weeks sixteen, you might be able
to be there for that last game. To see you
have to basically grab your eyes. You go right underneath you,
right underneath the button. I'm doing it right now. Right,
(01:01:34):
it looks like it's bob. I'm doing that right, is
that bobo? Hey? What are you doing under their bobo? Jesus? Uh, yeah,
I'm doing it right now. Yeah, I see what you mean.
So that's that's one of the Go two's um groin
because that's just an area to that, Like people are
kind of touching on that. They're like, oh, well, um,
we we we'd love to take a we'd love to
take a look at that. It's kind of a tough
(01:01:56):
area and maybe just sit out the rest of the season, groin,
ham string, those two things kind of go handed and
those are those are two of the easiest. And then
obviously concussion symptoms, Like it sounds terrible because so many
players have dealt with different issues in regards to head injuries,
uh CT, etcetera. But there is also that you know,
(01:02:17):
if the guy says he took a hard hit and
he's having symptoms a couple of days after the lea
takes it serious suddies in the protocol. Migrains. Migraines are
another one. I also thought this, right at the tip off,
have one of your teammates accidentally kicking the nuts, Like
if you're Anthony Davis, you're out there, you're getting ready
to tip off, and have one of them trip fall
and put his size sixteen Adidas right in his groin.
(01:02:42):
Because as a guy, you know this. There are certain
crop shots that you get where sometimes it hits both
and then other times it only hits one. And I
think when it only hits one, it hurts more because
you can't space out the pain, you know what I mean.
So I think that's the move early on. You've got
to sacrifice a little bit. You're gonna you're gonna take
a kick in the nuts, but it's gonna save your
(01:03:03):
team a hundred thousand dollars. So let's just go back
through this scenario, right, because for anyone who's taken taking
one of those shots to that that area, it usually
it's usually bad for about what tops an hour. Uh,
it depends. You're not milking that from when you start
(01:03:26):
practicing Wednesday all the way through Sunday. It depends. It
really depends. I mean it depends. Interesting. I wouldn't think
that would be the case. I would think you'd have
to go with some something serious. But again, you know,
back to the groin injury, this kind of falls in
that category a tough area to ultimately, um, you know,
check make sure you get the proper you know. Yeah,
(01:03:49):
I'm yeah, Well you're gonna take me through the m
R I machine. I gotta go in that little that
little tube so you can look at a look at
my crotch. I mean, what's happening here, son, and I
would feel uncomfortable with that couple acorns just sitting there. Yeah,
good for you. I don't know what you're talking about.
All right, Um, so remember the serial kicks, all right,
Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here Fox Sports Radio. Uh. Coming
(01:04:13):
up next, it is Headliner Lie, the return the season
premiere of Headliner Lie eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven six three six nine Headliner Lie.
If you want to be a part of the Hottest
Game Show making its return on Sports Stalk Radio. Next
if You've got the Guts. But for all the latest
before we get to that, it's Steve to sag in
(01:04:35):
the NBA's late game of Golden State Miami. Under a
minute ago till halftime leads the Warriors fifty six fifty two.
In fact, the Heat were up twenty six to seven
late in the first quarter after run. The Warriors are
first in the Western Conference two and a half games
over Denver, which has lost three in a row, and
we'll play tomorrow. Atlanta right now mid fourth quarter is
down one two to the Magic, So it looks like
(01:04:57):
the Hawks record will go to eighteen and third eight.
Phoenix lost its fourteenth in a row. Sacramento beat him
one seventeen one oh four. Sacramento Kings have a chance
this year to keep both the Lakers and Kings out
of the playoffs, and then it might be Sacramento in
the first round against Golden State and the Marcus Cousins.
Marvin Bagley had thirty two points in Sacramento's win. Tonight,
(01:05:18):
Philadelphia was only ahead of the Lakers by four points
late third quarter, then they rolled over them one forty
three to one. Twenty Joel and beat thirty seven points
fourteen rebounds. Dallas was down by fifteen early fourth quarter,
and at home still came back to beat Portland's one
oh two one oh one, out scoring him twenty one
to five in the last ten minutes. Boston's Kyrie Irving
(01:05:39):
is day to day with a strain knee at at
m R. Today college hoops wins for Houston and for Iowa,
which got a last second three pointer. Anaheim Ducks coach
Randy Carlyle was fired at daytona five hundred, qualifying William
Byron Earn the poll. The five hundred is a week
from today on Fox TV. Phil Nicholson leads by three
late in the final round at Pebble Beach. The last
couple holes will be finished in the morning. No rain
(01:06:01):
there in the forecast for tomorrow and free admission there
tomorrow in the Bay Area, shows back in ten seconds.
But first a word from farmers. From a dog accidentally
flooding a living room to a dog taking a joy ride,
we've covered it, talked to farmers. We know a thing
or two. Because we've seen a thing or two. We
are farmers under written my Farmers Truck Fire Insurance Exchanges
(01:06:21):
and affiliates products not available in every state. Jonas, Brady
Quinn back to you, Thanks, Steve. We are coming to
you live here at Fox Sports Radio. Close call there
just I've here at Fox Sports Radio, brought to you
obviously by Farmers. Yeah, no doubt about it, all right,
So we have we So we started playing this game,
(01:06:41):
I want to say, a couple of years ago, now
two years ago, two years ago. Um. And we do
it when during the off season when it's not NFL
because obviously we've got Sunday Night Football and and all
the games to recap and and to look ahead and
college football and all that. But it's called headliner, lie,
And it's where Brady Quinn and I will invent a headline,
or we'll pull an actual headline, and we take two
(01:07:02):
participants to team up with us to tell us whether
or not it's a headline or a lie. All pandemonium ensues.
It is craziness, It is chaos. It's the season premiere
of this. Is it a headline or is it a lie?
Let's go to the news desk. Here's Jonas Knocks and
(01:07:24):
Brady Quinn. Al Right, here we go. Are you nervous? Brady?
I'm a little rusty, man. I don't know if these
are gonna be delivered in the in the proper manner.
I'm a little rusty, little curious to see how this
season will go. The past two years, I've pretty much
kicked your ass. See that? Yeah, just it was just
this time will be different. Just a very very humble guy.
I am so I will can see that you have
(01:07:45):
beat my ass and headline or live. But it's a
new season and I feel like I had a strong
off season. So here we go. Let's go to James
who was in Minnesota listening here on Fox Sports Radio. James,
what's going on? Many? Jameson you do? Let's go to James,
who's in Minnesota listening here on Fox Sports Radio. James,
(01:08:05):
what's happening? Yeah? Alright now, James, are you sober? Why
can I be? I just answer the question, man, it's
not that. That's fine. That's fine, all right, James. Just
so you know, if you weren't, we would not be
against Yeah, come on, we'll just relax. He all right,
(01:08:26):
let's go to uh, let's go to a place. Bobbo
doesn't know this. He doesn't talk like this, but I
called the LBC. It's Long Beach where Mark is listening
here on Fox Sports Radio. Mark, what's happening people? No,
I'm I'm putting two people on and I'm going to
give them the opportunity to pick who they want to
play with. Brady, come on, we know what we're doing.
(01:08:46):
Should we do this one? That's none, You've already messed
the up. I'm James is on the air. Mark is
in Long Beach. Now he's on the air. James, You've
got first choice. You can choose either myself or you
can choose Brady Quinna team up with. I want to
go with on the snacks. We got to turn this
thing around, all right. I'm thrilled about that, James. I
am ecstatic. All right, here we go the season debut. Now, Mark,
(01:09:08):
because of that, you're gonna team up with Brady Quinny.
All right? With that, I am stoked about that season
perennial leader of this game. Yeah, well we're good. Yeah,
there's also uh hd there a little more fresh on you, Mark,
just more than me. Now here's how it works. I
(01:09:30):
Am going to read my headline or my lie to Mark,
and then Brady is going to read his to James.
And if we are tied, we have a tiebreaker at
the end of this. All right, So if you guys
are ready to go, we'll get it started. All right, Mark,
I'm gonna start, Mark, I'll start with you ready for this?
Here we go? Headline or lie. A Virginia man was
arrested on Wednesday after projecting a porno film on his
(01:09:52):
garage door in full view of his neighbors. I'm gonna
say porn star, not wrestler, because what is uh? What
is that? Okay, Virginia man in full view of his neighbors.
Don't google it, Mark, come on, I'm not I'm not
googling and I'm driving. I'm I'm gonna say it's a lie.
(01:10:13):
That's a headline, all right? Come on, Mark. If it
sounds like it may be true, it probably is. Virginia lovers.
There you go, There you go, and others as well.
James are you Are you still there, buddy? Yeah, buddy,
and then get to my question. All right, here we go.
Headline or lie? Florida man was so inebriated after an
(01:10:36):
NHL hockey game he lost his shirt on the side
of the highway there after throwing up that's a headliner.
He's coming now, James, uh it, come to stay away
the babe. All right, we're tied, so let's let's keep
it together. All right, we continue on headliner lie with
Mark in Long Beach. Mark. You ready to go? I'm ready?
(01:10:59):
Right here we go. A former NFL quarterback was busted
during Thursday's Panthers Penguins game in Florida after he and
a friend were caught trying to steal urinal cakes. Is
that a headline or a lie? That is a lie?
Damn it that a way Mark. It's funny those urinal
(01:11:20):
takes they make. They make great housewarming gifts. I don't
know if you've ever liked, actually taken those two people
when the first move in. If you mail me a
urinal cake, I swear to God I'll have you arrested. Okay, Okake,
I'm all for Look, I'm all for gag gifts. Don't
send me a urinal cake please. All right, James, ready,
(01:11:41):
I guess I'm ready to go. Here we go, brother
Birmingham Iron defensive tackle that's in the a A F
was arrested on a prostitution charge this week. Today he
was ruled out of the game with a groin injury.
There was a headliner. All right, there you go, James. Wait,
(01:12:02):
wait a battle back. Can you imagine, by the way,
can you imagine how that injury occurred? Yeah, by the way,
And so he got popped in a in a prostitution ring?
What was it? Was it a massage parlor? Was it? Like?
What are we talk? Sport? Are you seem very knowledgeable
on the subject there, James, that she couldn't have kind
(01:12:22):
of women before. And I love to work with him again.
Let me out of the school home. I'm sure what
I got. Wow, us, you know what now that I
think about a James, don't drink. Don't do not drink?
All right, just stay you all right, you were perfect
for this show. James. You call back any time now, James, stay.
We are all tired, alright, So I've got to I asked,
asked my question to Mark in Long Beach, who's listening
(01:12:44):
here on Fox Sports Radio. Mark a headline or lie.
As part of his contract with the Orlando Apollos of
the a F Steve Spurrier will be allowed to show
up to his weekly coaches show hammered, just like he
did at South Carolina. That's a lot. By the way,
he did show up hammered Tom Show. I know that
(01:13:05):
for a fact. Well, if you do it enough, it
just seems normal, right, So he has to get Okay,
that's how gregs. Sorry, James, I'll take your word for buddy.
All right, here we go. You ready, I guess the
headline or lie man arrested for pretending to be a
ghost during a funeral. Oh boy, that's a tough one.
(01:13:31):
How about that's a lot? Oh man, James, we still
got time. First of all, who's the a hole who
shows up to a funeral? Dresses and ghost? What did
you do? What do you do? Put a white sheet
over his over his body? What do you do this? Yeah?
(01:13:54):
The hell you laughing at? James? Were down to one man.
It's not a laughing matter. We'll come back. We'll come
back it alright, Alright, here we go, Mark in Long Beach,
Brady Quinn's partner here on headliner line. Now, here's the situation. Mark.
If you get this correct, the game's over because we're
down two to one. We can't make a comeback here,
all right, So if you get it correct, the game's over,
all right, So for the win, Mark in Long Beach
(01:14:15):
teaming up with Brady Quinn, who is a terrible person. Alright,
So Mark in Long Beach, alright, headline Mark headliner. Lie.
A man was asked to leave Ted's Montana Grill in
downtown Atlanta last week after he was heard shouting get
me another Sam Adam's cold snap or somebody's getting their
ass beat. Wow. Uh. I don't doubt that happened, but
(01:14:43):
I don't think it made the papers. I'm gonna say, Lie, Yeah, Mark,
I want to close about Mark. Well done, Hey, James,
any final thoughts man, You guys said a wonderful show.
Thanks for having me on, and good luckn all right, James,
Hey the escorts man? All right? So there it is
(01:15:04):
James and Mark here on Fox Sports Radio. Is it
me or you sound a little like Mike North? No,
that's not Mike North. What's North? Are we talking about? Oh, man,
I can't believe. You can't believe you would yell like
Sam Adam's cold snap. You like him that much, you
gotta scream, Oh, I'm saving some of the stuff I
had for you, buddy, Just wait till next week. Um
(01:15:27):
did did he say he's he's worked with those women before?
And I was just making sure and he was bragging
about his um looking looking for it, working with him again?
I thought I heard him say, but it looks at same,
same old, same old. Brady wins of course the first
first episode of Headliner lie, of course he did. You
(01:15:47):
know what had I not brought to the attention the
fact that you didn't make James pick a partner initially?
Maybe that backfired works against you. You know, look, you
gotta switch it up. You gotta he try some new
stuff out. It's like, what the a F doing? Brady?
Just trying some stuff out here? A yeah, A square? Yeah? Alright?
Jonas knocks Brady Quinn here Fox Sports Radio coming up
(01:16:09):
next here on fs are uh, there is already a
bizarre situation happening with one NFL coaching staff. We'll get
to that next year on Fox Sports Radio. From a
hotter blues landing on a car to a load of
concrete falling on one. We've covered it. Talk to farmers.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a
thing or two. We are farmers under written my Farmers

Jonas Knocks Brady Quinny or Fox Sports Radio updating you
on the Arizona Salt Lake a a F football game.
Right now, the Arizona hot Shots have a nineteen sixteen
lead over the Salt Lake non alcoholic beers with seven
(01:16:58):
and a half minutes to go. In the third order,
Live Bet Jesus has salt Lake plus eleven and a half,
so you can go right now, Brady. You could still
get ah alcoholic beverages. They're installed. I don't know you
Usually you have to go these places that um you
basically have like join a club quote unquote, not like
go to a club, but like join a club. Was
(01:17:19):
like the Alk or something like that. It's something like that.
But but basically they serve um. The alcohol like the
a p V is or may be V isn't as high.
So UM, I found it weird when I was in Denver,
one time the bud lights were less alcohol. There was
like less less alcohol by volume. Do you notice that
(01:17:41):
you played in Denver? Do you notice that when you
get a beer? Like I didn't. I did not notice that.
Why why do you think that was? I don't have
no idea. I think maybe the altitude. I don't know.
I guess everyone was warning me all the altitude hangovers. Man,
there there's nothing to joke about, don't you know, like
a mile high hangovers? And I just thought, oh, but
I have no idea, but it you know, that's why,
(01:18:01):
as opposed to having twelve beers and feeling like your hammered,
I just went ahead and said, you know what, I'll
just have a thirty pack and that's it, and that's
all I'm gonna do. So there's that, um any thoughts
on that. No, No, we don't have much to add
to that. We We are brought to you by Discovered.

Gaze Brady Quinn. I don't know if you know this,
people call him goose. Uh. He has got already reports
of kind of an interesting coaching staff that they've put together.
Uh Jovitt who was with the New Orleans Saints, Greg Williams.
(01:18:47):
Greg williams son is part of the staff. Like these
different reports coming out, Are you buying the reports that
there's already problems in New York with that coaching staff
or is that just sort of overblown because people don't
know what else to talk about because the NFL is
over Oh, you do know the relation of Joe Vit
and Adam Gates. Yes, it's his uh father in law. Correct,
there you go. Yeah, so you kind of bury the lead. Um.
(01:19:09):
So you've got essentially a family affair. You've got Adam
Gates and his father in law, um, and then Greg
Williams and his son on the defensive side of the staff.
So I'm sure it could become a little bit contentious,
especially when adversity hits or because I feel like the
structure of this team feels very much like, you know,
Adam Gates is just gonna take care of the offense
(01:19:31):
and then Greg Williams is gonna be in charge of
taking care of the defense. You know, that's kind of
the feeling that I'm getting from it. And so if
one of the side, on one of the two sides
is doing their job, it could get a little bit
dicey in there, right. So that that's why I'm curious
to see how this is all gonna work out. And
then really, you know whether or not this this organizations
be to keep these guys together and keep it to
(01:19:52):
be somewhat of an amicable relationship, because I don't know
how it's gonna work out. Well, I mean, at least
it's only New York and so nobody will be asking
about it every day. Be our bounty game, right, like
the first dirty hit you see and what wasn't didn't
didn't Joe Vitt takes shots at Greg Williams, and the
testimony for bounty takes shots. He just said that he
didn't know that his uh like it wasn't testimony. I't
(01:20:14):
know what you call it, but they didn't know if
it was it was you know, fully truthful, and that
ultimately led to him getting suspended as well as Greg Williams.
Oh Man, I love it, by the way, guy writes
in on Twitter, if you wanted to know whether or
not people listening to the show might have a drinking problem.
Guy right in on Twitter and says Jonas, We'll check
out your crotch. We'll get the magnifying glass and see
(01:20:35):
if you have any problems. What what's where did that
come from? I have no idea. So who's looking at
who's crossed? I look at mine right now here, he's
looking at his. In the NBA's late game at Golden State,
the Warriors trailed by nineteen points late in the first quarter.
(01:20:55):
It's now Miami seventy one, seventy over the Warriors mid
third quarter. Steph Curry twenty points so far. Golden State
shooting from the floor. Orlando and Sacramento got wins. Philadelphia
blitz the Lakers one one twenty, and Dallas was down
by fifteen points early fourth quarter and still be Portland
one oh two, one oh one. Luka dons its eight points.
(01:21:17):
Boston's Kyrie Irving is day to day with a strain

or in the poll. I'm Steve Disager, So we may
have ourselves a little bit of a conspiracy theory. It's
football related. We'll get to that here momentarily. On Fox

am Jonas Knox. This is fs ARE. You can listen

three s just just making our way and uh you
you asked some probing questions during the break, some of
(01:22:24):
which are not not necessarily the easiest subject to talk about.
So you know, I just I asked about do you
want to talk about it? Uh? You asked about my dogs,
one of which has has cancer, So we're we're kind
of dealing with that right now. But you got upset
because I didn't have some sort of gleeful response. I
did not get kind itself. He's ten years old, he's
(01:22:44):
got LM foma, so we're we're kind of dealing with that, right.
I did not get upset. I just expected more than
a one word response. That's all it is. I didn't
really feel like it was the time and place to
talk about it. You didn't. You didn't think right as
we were getting ready to start the hour, that was
the appropriate time to talk about a sick dog. No, No,
I didn't use psycho, But no I try. I've been there, man,
(01:23:06):
there's there's And the reason I brought it up. We're
watching the Westminster Dog Show. Uh is on one of
the TVs here on Fox Sports one. I can't believe.
I bet Jesus didn't bet on that. What can you
bet on the Westminster Dog Show? Over? Under? On? How
long before the rottweiler craps himself? Is it over this week?
Is this like the final right now? I don't know.
I have no idea. I have no idea. How long
at last? Is there like a whole thing with to
(01:23:27):
compare all the different breeds? I had my bull mast
if would would. There was no shot he could compete
in any event. He loves peanut butter too much. Most yeah,
I still have some on me. I believe the most,
the most, the most on althletic. Oh you already do?
(01:23:48):
We lost Bobo. Bobo's gone everybody. We're looking for a
technical producer. He wants no part of this show. Um.
He's was the most unathletic dog I've ever were scene
in my life. That's surprising. Usually those dogs are decently coordinated.
Huge though, right, Oh yeah he's really big. Yeah huge,
(01:24:09):
I mean huge, that's what she said, like, uh yeah,
just a pounds. No, he was a hundred eighty bull
masters then that thing couldn't have been in good shape.
Are using great shape. They live average seven to nine years.
He lived almost thirteen. He was in great a hundred
(01:24:32):
and eighty pounds. Man, I've never heard of a bull
mast if that big. Yeah he's uh yeah, it was
my guy. Man, that was my pet pony. Yeah he's here, dude,
a hundred and eighty pounds. That's literally legitimately had a
pet pony. I wouldn't I wouldn't put it past him. No,
I mean you live in the t o there's a
chance there's not in but some people keep those things
(01:24:57):
in their living room. Yeah they do. Like there's like
where I go, there's a lot of farm area around
near near me, and sometimes you'll just see horses walk
on the street and I'm like, where the hell this
come from? What are we on the set of Tombstone?
What's happening here? There's like a horse walking down the street.
And then I realize I'm standing in front of a mirror.
All right, So Brady Quinn, um, as we uh, we
(01:25:17):
trans transition, as we as we transition, I know, Becau.
It's the first time I've actually like led on the air,
So I apologist, all right, as we transition from horses
and bull mastives and uh and other dogs to a
conspiracy theory that Brady Quinn has regarding the A A
(01:25:40):
F and how it involves the n f L. And
you know how we do this, Brady Quinn, anytime there's
conspiracy theories, we bring out the greatest song in the
history of television. So Brady Quinn, dazzle us with your
conspiracy theory, sir? Is this show coming back? Yeah? It
is Netflix, believe that I know. Yeah, I love it. Man,
(01:26:04):
you imagine the freaky crap that they're gonna have, like
the unsolved mysteries in the past twenty years. There was
show has been off the air for what twenty years? Yeah,
but it was so good that show was around for
a long time. Man, and and and the best part
about the show is when you would be watching it
and Robert Stack would come on and go update and
you go, oh, my god, is it about that ghost
who did meth off the corpse? And then you wait
(01:26:26):
to see if it's your story and it's not your story?
But what about your conspiracy theory? Brady, Uh, there's a thought,
there's a thought that why why is it right now?
The A A F and the XFL are both being
start up in the next obviously right now for for
(01:26:48):
the XFL. Yeah, do you have any idea why people
would be thinking, Oh, it's kind of odd that the
timing of both these leagues would start up right here
was my initial thought. I thought that when the XFL
was announced, because I think the XFL got announced before
the a F, if I'm not mistaken, I thought that
(01:27:08):
the reason they came out with the A A F
is because the NFL was trying to cancel out the XFL.
That that was my initial thought, but I have a
feeling you've got a better conspiracy. Yeah, so there's there's
a conspiracy that maybe if the NFL does want these
leagues to start up and be operational by the next time,
(01:27:31):
there's that collective bargaining agreement that maybe people are hoping like, Okay,
we've immediately got our scab players. We've got this this
league and the A the XFL, and we immediately throw
them on the field. People have already watched them in
the off season. Now they get to see them. And
these were legit uniforms, since you're so ticked off with
(01:27:51):
the way they look in there, you know, Birminghama iron uniforms,
et cetera. But there is that thought to it, right,
and it's hard not to deny it and not to
think that, yeah, these guys who want any chance, any
opportunity to go and play in a game, which, by
the way, they're making seven grand per game right now.
If it's the a F, they'd be making almost three
(01:28:12):
times that at a minimum, maybe four times that as
far as what their minimum would be playing in the
NFL at that point, So it would be interesting to
see if that if the NFL owners would take some
of these players as scab players as things try to
sort themselves out, if there is indeed a work stoppage.
But I love it, absolutely love it. Round of applause.
(01:28:32):
I'm into it. I will support your conspiracies. I will
entertain all of them. I'm into it. It's round of applause.
I buy it. I just throw this issue though, Like,
couldn't have work both ways. Yeah, that's what that's what
I thought. Like, like players from the NFL could say, well, no,
you've you've already got this existingly the a F in
the XFL, I'm just gonna go play there. I win
(01:28:55):
until the conditions are better than the NFL. I'm gonna
play there. Maybe they can have they can pay me
more money, or a few players they could pay more
and then, now, granted that would change the entire structure
of both those leagues, But at that point in time,
if you're Bill Point, if you're Charlie Abasol, do you
do you care? Because now you're getting those stars playing
your league. And here's here's the other aspect of it.
If you've got the XFL, and you've got because I
(01:29:17):
think Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo's agent Don Yee is
starting his own league as well too. Yeah, that's a
little bit different though. That's the Pack Pack Pro League.
I think something it's it's it's more of an alternative
to college. So it's kids who come out of high
school that don't want to necessarily have to get a degree.
They just go play in that league and then they
eventually try to work the way to the NFL. Because
(01:29:39):
how do we know this wouldn't happen if the XFL
is out and the a f is out and they
have a work stoppage in the NFL and guys want
to go work. How do we know that the NFL
couldn't treat the a f like where they get their
scabs from, and the NFL players would just go then
and play in the XFL to say screw you to
(01:30:01):
the NFL. That's that. That's that's where would be interesting
to see if indeed the a f UH in some
fashion or form has partnered softly with the NFL. Even
though there hasn't been anything announced, nothing's really there. But
I mean, look look at you know, for example, Bill Polling,
Hall of Famer in regards to the way he's was
being able to build up organizations. Um. And you look
(01:30:22):
at some of the other ties with the coaching staffs
and they're the players that are involved. Um, they're all
looking to try to be a partner with the NFL.
And so if the a F has taken that approach,
maybe you have on the other side, the XFL trying
to partner with the union. That'd be fantastic that you
have dueling leagues dueling And I'm let me tell you
something if I because now that you bring it up,
(01:30:45):
it was odd that all of a sudden, like right
around the same time, multiple leagues opened up. And it's
almost like they both saw the writing on the wall down,
you know, coming up. When when's the when does that
come up? I think, Okay, so they see the writing
on the wall. There's potential that there could be a
work stoppage. If I were Vince McMahon or whoever is
(01:31:07):
running the XFL, I'm getting in Bob Stoops, is now
a GM there. I'm trying to connect with as many
players or or or setting up relationships because what are
fans gonna watch? Are they gonna watch the scabs in
the NFL, or they're gonna watch the most recognizable names
in the XFL, where players are going to play there
and make a little bit of cash while they're trying
(01:31:29):
to figure out and get a better agreement done with
with the league. I think that would be brilliant. And
that's the that's the interesting thing regress of who anounced
that they were going to start the league first, because
I didn't know if it was the XFL first or
a F. Obviously the a F is the first mover
advantage to getting it up and running, but the XFL,
if they're patient, you know, they can see some of
(01:31:51):
the mistakes the a F is making and they can
circumvent some of that. And so you have to think
in the back of your mind, it's not the horse thing.
Like to your point, some of some of the conversations
all over luck, who's going to be the commissioner excuse me,
is the commissioner of the league? You know some of
the conversations he's he's having his Hey son, if you
guys decided to strike, maybe we have this other league
for you where we can get a bunch of financial
(01:32:13):
backing to help you out. Oh, I think that'd be
brilliant and and there's nobody who could market like. Say
whatever you want about Vincentmhan. The guy's a hell of
a marketer and a hell of a promoter. And it
just now that you now that you actually bring it up.
The XFL was a failure first time around. He lost
a lot of money. So why would he be so
confident that he, all these years later, could make it
(01:32:36):
work a second time unless he knows something that most
people don't, which is we're gonna have a work stoppage.
And I already know what my next angle is gonna be.
And if that's the case, that is I am on
board for that. That's fascinating. I would love to see
NFL players in the XFL and scabs in the NFL
and just see who wins that one. I uh, I
(01:32:58):
keep thinking too that CFL is gonna be different. Like
when I talked to all Over Luck, their commissioner, when
I was at the Super Bowl. You know, one of
the things he said was, it's not going to be
what we recall from before, or they're not going to
take an account player safety and all that, because they're
not gonna they're gonna have cheerleaders in the hot tub, no,
and and and they're not gonna be like allowing quarterbacks
to be literally taken off the field on stretchers to
(01:33:21):
then only suit up the following week when they have
like a neck brace still on. But um, you know,
I think they understand some of the mistakes that they
made in the past, and they understand where they need
to get to in order to be successful moving forward.
And again, I gotta tell you the gambling aspect of
all of this, that's their advantage because unlike the NFL
(01:33:42):
M who has so many different things in place where
they can't utilize technology quite the way another startup league can,
or that they it's notne as easy for them to
implement some of the things from a gambling perspective because
it's probably more pushback. You look at the a F,
the XFL. They're all in, baby, and people will love that.
Like if you could take a sport you already love
(01:34:02):
and even if you have some of the pieces or
some of the players that intrigue you. But more so
than that, the opportunity to then bet on it and
gamble on it, people are gonna be all over it.
I'm telling Look, And then you know it's gonna end
up happening. The NFL is going to overcorrect, so they're
gonna try and make amends, and people think I'm crazy.
There's gonna be betting boosts and stadiums. They're gonna be
(01:34:24):
betting boost in stadiums, just like there are over in
Europe to where people can walk up, get a beer,
look right to their left and place a wager on there.
Here's the thing is the reason why I don't think
that's gonna be the case is because you're gonna have
it on your phone. I mean, the bottom line is
you will literally be able to sit in your seat.
We all have them. We'll have smart phones and you'll
(01:34:45):
be able to make that bet from your phone. That
that's what a lot of teams are gonna do. Or
like a BW three's, they're gonna have them at BW
three's man like Kiosk there and everything. I mean, everyone's
setting up to take advantage of what's gonna be out there.
And look, there's you can go to places. Um, there's
a place in in Thousand Oaks where I live where
you can bet on horse races. They have a betting
booth inside the bar. So if you want to bet
(01:35:08):
on the Kentucky Derby or any races around the country.
That's what you do. And look, it's fun to do
it with the phone, but there's nothing quite like walking
up at a horse track to somebody and saying give
me ten bucks on number three to show there's just
something about it. It's manual labor. I get it. It
takes more time, but there's something about it. If you
(01:35:28):
could do that in the NFL, Man, what a world
we be in. I'd go to more games. I would too,
I'd go with you, yeah, saying a lot, yeah, sing
a little lot if you're telling me. All right, Brady
Quinn Jonas knocks here Fox Sports Radio, coming to you
Alive from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. That is
a fantastic conspiracy theory. I think that's your best conspiracy
(01:35:48):
theory ever came up with. People are hammered they think
he came up with They just go with it. Any work.
We don't need to give our credit on this show,
all right. Coming up next, I do want to pose
a question to Brady Quinney because I think that two
of the most controversial players in recent NFL history could
be on their way back. Find out who we're talking
(01:36:09):
about next year on FS are laities and gentlemen. This
from a car landing on a roof to a car
landing in the pool, we've covered it. Talk to farmers.
We know a thing or two. Because we've seen a
thing or two. We are farmers under written my farmers
(01:36:30):
truck fire insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable in every state.
Jonas knocks Brady Quinn, Fox Sports Radio. If you'd like
an update on the Grammys, too bad, We will not
be talking about that on this show. We will be
talking about the Great a a f though, and where
the the Arizona hot Shots have a thirty five twenty
(01:36:51):
two lead over the Salt Lake oh Duels in Arizona
seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter. You're probably wondering,
why are we doing live scores on this game. Well,
it's because I bet Jesus Uh gave us a pick
earlier in the show, and he took Salt Lake plus
eleven and a half. Not looking good, Rady, not looking
good at all. No, no it's not, but you know, look,
(01:37:12):
you gotta have faith. I was pretty a beat optimistic
about this pick, only because we had talked about the
a F for like the entire first alum, I have
no idea, it's just you know what it happened is
it's where the conversation started, and then we never got
off of that subject. But I do respect the fact
(01:37:34):
that he actually bet on the league that literally just
got started up like forty Yeah, like like anybody even
knows how to handicap anything in this league. They don't
even keep status yet. Uh, they didn't even know how
to pick the right jersey colors. I mean, Arizona looks
like a Mic and Ike box and uh, and and
Salt Lake looks like the Tennessee Titans color rush. I
mean it doesn't even like it just doesn't even look right.
(01:37:57):
But but hey, there's nobody in atten this, but it
is given these guys another opportunity. And so we've been
talking a lot about that here on Fox Sports Radio.
Want to let you know, Brady in about six minutes
from now here on FS are we normally do over unders,
We're gonna take a look back we did over unders,
and we wanted to wait until football was done to
kind of get a peek at this over unders on
(01:38:18):
the college football season in which we made our predictions
on how certain teams and and things would go during
the college football season. I can assure you because I
I remember two or three of these. I did awful,
absolutely awful in my over under picks for college football.
So so you were wanting to keep score and you
(01:38:40):
want to know how you did. Trust me, you did
better than me. I can guarantee you that I was terrible. Yeah, okay,
I kept trying to ask you during the break. You
wouldn't tell me anything. Um it maybe feel uncomfortable. I remember,
I thought that was the pick I sent. Um, I
almost almost as uncomfortable as this. Did I ever tell you?
I was talking about attorney once time, because you know,
(01:39:00):
you know how sometimes you like you get around attorneys
and you're like, hey, can I get some good at
legal advice? Like like have you ever done that with
an attorney or like anyone else who's just in a
position where like, let me pick this guy's brain. Maybe
he'll give me like a free tip er to like
some you know, free advice on something like that. Right. Um,
I know bartenders, and I know dishwashers and landscapers. I
(01:39:21):
don't know attorneys, but I'll play along. Well, So I
literally asked a guy, Hey, so, like, what what's the
best advice you can give me. He's like, well, look,
the majority of the people are concerned about getting a
d u I. And I was like, oh, I guess
that makes sense, right, Like, probably the majority of people
go out and have a little too much fun and
make a poor decision to drink and drive. And he's like,
(01:39:43):
here's the key, though, Here's what they don't tell you.
The sure fire way to get out of getting a
d u I is you crap your pants? I yes,
is this like are you are you kidding me? Are
you trying to give me? Are you trying to give me? Like?
(01:40:04):
Are you trying to like mess with me right now?
He just no, you gotta crap your pants because because
there's never a cop that wants to have to throw
you in the back of his car and deal with
that smell and take you in and book you and
all that the entire time he goes. So if you
can and you get in that situation, your best bet
(01:40:25):
is to crap your pants. Oh man, it is probably
I swear to you. That would have been the last
guess of mine. As as to trying to trying to
figure out where the story was gonna end with the
other thing is doing like I don't even we probably
could have came to that conclusion at some point, right
like with like think of all the ways you can
(01:40:46):
deter a cop from I just well, my, my, just
and quickly, I just want to say it is I
would like to go on record, if you get a
d U I nowadays you're an idiot period with all
the with ubers and lifts, uh and and and so
much access to getting a ride nowadays, if you still
(01:41:06):
get behind the wheel of your car and and like
right now, if you're driving right now and you've had
anything to drink and you think it's questionable, you're a
moron and you deserve to get pulled over like it is.
It's the laziest thing. You just literally you just didn't.
Vince Young, just get a d U I Oh yeah,
I mean come on, like literally like a night or two. Yeah,
it's just like Bobo. I'm not saying you're taking shots
(01:41:28):
of Vince Young right now. I'm just saying, like, it
sounds like you're taking shots at them. He surry, what
what what is Brady Quinn, After implying that Bobo would
automatically be a Vince Young fan. No, actually it was
the other way around. I thought Bobo was a control
of that button and was supposed to be dropping that
on you. You're the one who's all of a sudden
hammering people who are doing that, which I do agree,
(01:41:49):
but it just so happens that's the most recent sports
figure that's gotten one. But then why would you throw
it to the other black guy that's on the show
with the only black okay for all all Bobo for wait,
what I mean my dad is name? Never mind? Yeah, yeah, Bobo.
(01:42:11):
I thought I was in charge of the button, the
Seriu button. Apparently that that's not the kid. I do
get it, But he said it enough for me not
to have to drop the word idiot, and the funny
wouldn't have been there. But then for you to say, hey, Bobo,
didn't Vince Young just get a d U? I because
I was. I was hoping that you would realize that
Jonas was being racist? Can we can we can we
(01:42:33):
get get away from Vince Young and quarterbacks and racism?
And can we get onto a question I would like
to post to you, Brady Quinn, right the scenario to
you and before I do that, Brady Quinn and and no,
we are serious. And before before I do that, I
do want to let you know. And I'm sure they're
thrilled with this. And we are brought to you by Discover.

dot com slash credit scorecard limitations apply and boom goes
to dynamite what you've seen in the a F. Is
it better than the CFL. Oh in my opinion, yes,
If then what's man's l doing well, I don't. I
(01:43:17):
don't know what his contracts stipulates. And I think the
other thing is maybe he went that route to search
out if he could join an a F team and
they might not have wanted to take him on. So
you know that that could be one conversation we had.
But the reason I think it's better than the CFL
because it isn't a disrespect to the CFL. It's a
(01:43:38):
different game. The dimensions of the field are different, the
forward motion things you can do are different. You got
three downs, you've got a twelve. You know player on
the field. All those things add up to being a
very very different game. And so for that reason, I
think if you're if your ultimate goals to try to
have guys be able to transition to the NFL, you
want to have a game that mimics that as close
as possible, and I think the a F is close.
(01:44:00):
So then the cflum because and we were talking about
how potentially if there's a lockout or a work stoppage
or whatnot, you know, the NFL could be pulling scab
players from the a F and that could be a possibility.
Who knows, the XFL could try and partner up with
the union somehow. All just you know what if scenarios
I mean, you're telling me the XFL wouldn't make a
(01:44:21):
push for a guy like say Colin Kaepernick, like try
and get him in, you know, if it's all about
let's let's team up the Union, let's do this and
then we'll go against the league. I just I wonder
how many players who aren't currently playing right now see
an opportunity to try And I don't know if it's
if it's getting back at the question though, like why
(01:44:42):
is it it always that argument No, I'm just I'm asking,
in all seriousness, like why is it always like, oh,
Colin Kaepernick, because like this Colin Kaepernick even want to No, no,
but he's in his thirties. The kids played the Super Bowl. Like,
do you think he wants to go to some startup league? Well,
like at all honesty, No, But my my point being
(01:45:04):
if it if it was a way to say in
spite of the NFL, that's the angle the XFL took
in spite of the NFL. Like, I mean, I wonder
if you know Kaepernick is a guy who would say,
you know what, FT the NFL, I'm going to the XFL. Um.
I think it's a long shot, but I'm just throwing out,
you know what if scenarios like if this league does
well enough the a F and the ratings have been
(01:45:24):
have been good so far, and other league see an opportunity,
you know what, what does all that entail? And I
agree with you, I don't think Kaepernick wants to play, period,
regardless of what anybody wants to say. I just think
it's better to keep floating the possibility out there because
it keeps the narrative alive and the discussion alive. So
I don't think he wants to play period. I mean,
it sounds terrible to say, but it does make it
(01:45:45):
seem like it's more impactful for what he's doing off
the field to not play than to play. Right. Um,
And so if let's say he was gonna be a
part of the XFL for starters, like he was offered
contracts right like, there's there's a whole back of fourth
of like initially there was some interest and then there wasn't,
and then it came down to like what was it
(01:46:05):
because they tried to say that they weren't offered a contract,
but he had talked to a couple of teams like
I mean a couple of years ago, now, like there
was all this drama surrounding it, and it was almost
as like he didn't want to maybe play for what
they were going to pay him. So maybe there is
a number maybe he would for the XFL out of spite,
I have no idea. The only thing I would say
(01:46:27):
is when you talk to guys who are part of
these startup leagues in particularly a f you know, for
a lot of these guys, like I mean, it's gonna
feel really different for Trent Richardson. He's the guy who
was successful at Alabama playing in front of hundreds of
thousands of people. How did the first round pick? How
did the Browns get a first round pick for him?
(01:46:48):
From Indianapolis? They drafted the first round? Um, so he's
a first round pick, like he's accustomed to like all this,
and now he's, you know, playing for the with Birmingham
him iron I think he's on there and you've got
to be sitting yourself like it's it's a drastic change
compared to what you're accustomed to. Right, And so does
(01:47:08):
this Colin Kaepernick? We even want to do that, like
does that taint how he felt about the game of football?
Does it does it change you know, how he feels
about it? And and and really what's the point? Is
it to play football? Or is it too you know,
at a spite against the NFL? Or is it to
get back in the NFL Because even at that point,
there may not be a path for him just because
(01:47:28):
he's playing the XFO. Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here Fox
Sports Radio Company Alive from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Coming up next, We're going to take a look back
at our awful picks for the college football season. Right,
we are humble enough to be able to admit our mistakes,
especially me, and we're gonna do that on the air
next here. But for all the latest, it's Steve de Seger.
(01:47:49):
Good evening, gentlemen, and I looked it up. Winning a
Grammy at Staples Center tonight was Weird Al Yankovic Best
box Set album. The Complete Works of Weird Al Yankovic
beat out Grateful Dead and and Roses and some others.
He beat out Guns and Roses. Brady Quinn used to
do hand cleans to Guns and Roses, and Weird Al
Yankovich beat him out. Yeah, and whatever, I do anything
(01:48:09):
to Weird Al Yankovich though, Well, if you need the
complete works, apparently there's a box set out there. Just
for the record. By the way, that Charger security guards
name was Al Yankovic. Moving on to the NBA scoreboard
tonight at Golden States, the Warriors were down nineteen late
first quarter, now lead with under six minutes left against
Miami one oh Kevin Durant twenty eight points wins for Sacramento.
(01:48:32):
In Orlando. Philadelphia was up on the Lakers by four
points late in the third beat l A one forty
three to one twenty. They scored forty seven points in
the last fifteen minutes of this game against the Lakers.
Philly shot fifty eight percent from the floor today, so
at home. Now this season, they're twenty three and six
at Dallas, and MAVs trailed Portland by fifteen early fourth
(01:48:52):
quarter and then outscored him twenty one to five in
the last ten minutes of the game Dallas one two,
one oh one over the Blazers the final. Boston's Kyrie
Irving is day to day with a strain knee at
his MRI I. Today, the Pacers signed guard Wesley Matthews.

The five hundred is a week from today on Fox TV.
We'll be back to the show in ten seconds. But first,
a word from farmers. From a dog accidentally flooding a
living room to a dog taking a joy ride, and
we've covered it. Talk to farmers. We know a thing
or two because we've seen a thing or two. We
(01:49:55):
are farmers under written my Farmers truck Fire Insurance exchang
Sen Affiliates products unavailable in every state and in the
new Alliance of American Football at Arizona two for the
whoever's against Salt like two minutes. I never thought out
here to say enthusiastic about a startup, man, I'm not.
(01:50:19):
It's not that I'm not enthusiastic, it's just nobody knows
the name Steve to Sager, who was the epitome of
broadcast professional I knew it was only going to take
a couple of years before we got to him, Before
we infected his blood with our negativity. You and I man,
Oh no, no, no, don't, I'm not. I'm not including
Come on man, you and I buddies me and you?
(01:50:42):
All right? I agree? Sorry? Uh words, no, leave that alone.
You know I caught myself, all right. So Brady, we
we do this thing on the show called over Unders
and before the college football season, and we did the
for the NFL. We'll look back at our NFL predictions
next week. We have a little bit more time because
(01:51:05):
those were pretty bad too. Uh. We started doing over
unders on the college football season, made our predictions. This
is way back in August, and so we figured, since
the football season's over, let's just see how we did
and who was better. It's time for this time to
put your money where your mouth is. You know, life, family,
(01:51:28):
jan It's over under alright. Eric Rawwards, our executive producer,
feed us the damage one at a time. How bad
were we? All right? Guys? So we we set win
totals for ten college football teams. All right, so this
is how everything played out for us. So we're gonna
start in Michigan. We set the win total at nine
and a half, guys, nine and a half. Jonas you
(01:51:49):
were correct. You took the over. They finished the season
ten and three. Brady, you took the under. So the
win early for Jonas there you took the under a
nine and a half. I think he said he sees
him at nine, doesn't know if he can they can
get the ten to get over. Sure you're talking to
Michigan and not me. You were more like Michigan State
(01:52:09):
this year. Moving on to Oklahoma, guys, we had a
double loss by both of you. Here. We set the
over under at ten and a half wins. They finished
the season twelve and two. Damn, what do we both
have them? I think you both had them around nine. Oh,
I would have said ten because the only scene that
could have beat them they actually beat twice. So does
(01:52:31):
it makes sense? Interesting that was a bad pig as Brady.
Has Brady gotten anything right yet? Yeah? I was just saying,
you tried to make this seem like I was gonna
win a bunch, and now you're trying to now you're
trying to flip the script on their man. I'm just
I'm just reading down the line as I heard him. Right. Okay,
So here's the here's the lovely part about all this.
There we go, here, we go, here we go. Yeah,
(01:52:52):
there he gets he gets one l on him and
then all of a sudden he starts he's tearing it apart. Alright,
moving on guy, Hawaii. We set the Hawaii win total
at four and a half. Yes, it was a double
win for you guys. They finished you both took the
over and they finished eight and six on the season.
Damn sure. By the way, I believe they started, uh
like five and oh and then we're atrocious there on out.
(01:53:15):
Nick Rolovich, Uh, look, I liked the guy, but I
think we gotta do better, That's all I'll say. Yeah
that too. That's a alright, so we got that bread.
Then that's a double double win there guy, here comes
another double loss for you guys. You both took the
over for the u c L A five and a
half win totals not a good season. And you know
(01:53:36):
West would the first season three and nine, I believe,
Jonas said, Chip Kelly, Baby, Chip Kelly, hold a second,
hold on a second. The over under was five and
a half. Yeah, we took to their schedule. I mean
it was I think I thought they would get six. Yeah, yeah,
that's Chip Kelly, baby Chip. And by the way I heard.
(01:53:57):
I heard their recruiting class was atrocious this year. That's
just to just to put it bluntly, they had a
kid choose to be a walk on a Washington instead
of accepting a scholarship as a linebacker, I believe. Moving
on Ohio State guys, Brady, you got the win and
this one, Jonas, you took the under. The over hit.
(01:54:19):
It was a ten and a half over under and
they finished their two one guys, so Brady had the
over with Ohios day, I should have won, but I
got screwed on a couple of games. Say that. Speaking
of Washington, guys, you both took the under for Washington's
win total ten and a half or sorry, there was
a double. There was a double win here. Yeah, so
you guys both took the under over. Yeah you know,
(01:54:40):
you both took the under and they finished ten and four.
So the ten and a half under hit. All right,
we did it. The double win for you. Moving on
to Miami guys, another I could hear Jonas getting so
excited because he probably won. That's exactly. I really don't
know how I did. Honestly, I do not know the
five talk when you're boxing analogy earlier and you can
you're so full now. No. He literally told me he's
(01:55:00):
let me do this, and then I was finishing it up.
He hasn't seen this. Here's the thing Brady secretly loves
when I wax poetic about boxing the sweet science. If
you will, he loves it. You can't get enough, alright, Miami, guys,
we set the over under at nine and a half wins.
You've both got a win here. You don't both took
the under. They finished the season seven and six, so
the under hit. In fact, what was the over under
(01:55:22):
on number of coaches they had in a three week span?
Did we hit the over on that? That's a sore spot. Yeah,
come on, you're you live down there. Manny like no
one to give him Manny Das heat at all about that.
What do you mean heat on Manny Dias? Yeah? I mean, look,
it was all they could do to grab someone in
that instance. I mean they were panicking when when Mark
Rick stepped down, they were panicking, so they didn't think
(01:55:44):
they were going to be able to get anyone. So
Mark Rick never gave Manny Diaz the heads up, Hey
I'm thinking about leaving or I'm gonna walk like he
just he surprised everybody. My intuition is that maybe there
were some changes to be aid, and Mark Rick didn't
want to make those changes and thought, Okay, I'm gonna
I'm gonna just I'm gonna go ahead and sail off
(01:56:06):
into the sunset. Okay, interesting, I didn't know that. Moving
on to a Florida State guys seven and a half,
it was the winds total Florida States five and seven.
You both took the over. Another quote I believe was
from Jonahs saying, I don't see a world where Florida
State is fighting to get into the playoffs. I might
(01:56:30):
have been intoxicated that show, all right, I don't know
what I was thinking. Florida State was awful. Man, they
were all boy that is that's a terrible. It's kind
of sad to see, like what where they're at right now.
But well, you wish you'd say they have more optimism
for next year, even though I don't. I don't know
a lot of athletes. They're just not very good team. Yeah,
but then they didn't what's his name just get the boot. Yeah. Yeah,
(01:56:56):
it's not not a pretty place to be right now. Yeah, guys,
stand it's win total eight and a half. Both got
you both took the win here you Bill took the over.
They finished season nine and four. That's Mr dependable man.
You want Stanford's always gonna be nine or ten wins everything,
But Shaw has to be so underappreciated. Like I'm waiting
for that guy to go to the NFL. Doesn't matter
what time, does he even want to go. I've heard
(01:57:18):
he gets compensated very well. Yeah, there's really no reason
for him to leave. Yeah, I would stay. Is it
is it? I've never been out there? Is it nice?
Palo Alto? Is that a nice area? Oh? My gosh,
you're kidding me. They got me like wineries nearby or anything.
I'm a big wine guy. Are you a wine kind
of story? Yeah? I think they got a spot up there.
The name something like Roberts. Could help me out with that,
A little little two buck chuck, if you know what
(01:57:40):
I mean. And finally, guys, last one here Notre Dame
nine and a half wins, and you guess who took
the over? Who took the under here? Damn? Who took
the win? Cash it on? Twelve wins? And who did
not alight I wasn't intentionally trying to be negative, but
I got accused of that on the air from what
I recall. I look, I just thought they had they
had a couple of tough bots in the schedule, so
(01:58:01):
I took the under right. I'm not proud of it,
but it happened, So Brady, one, is that really how
it happening? Yeah? And then in total, guys, Jonas a
very nice five and five split Brady six and four.
All right, so let so let me just so we
can put a cap on this because now I'm piste
off Roberts, who could have read notre dame first, wait
(01:58:23):
until the end because he knew that was the difference.
Just to be more, theatric also read Hawaii, you're Michigan,
last man, I don't know you. Now he likes it, Yeah, Brady,
Brady loves it as long as as long as he's
got not getting hit in the Hey, I didn't like
how bad I was. Six and four is not good.
(01:58:45):
It's better than five and five, that's true. Well, I mean,
not much is expected out of you, all right, Jonas knocks,
thank you very bad for I feel great about myself
after this show. I cannot wait, I cannot wait to
