Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. What do you think.
We'll get to that in just about a minute. But
right now, as always, it's TRD to say, wake up America.
Oh you sound a little a little off there today.
That's okay. It's that okay, that's man out day. Enough,
go away, go away. It's that time. It's Fox Football Sunday.
He's Brian No. I'm Andy Furman. Will come in to
(00:23):
you live for the Fox Sports Radio Studios, brought to
you by Geico. Fifteen minutes can save you fifteen percent
of more on car insurance. Visitgico dot com for a
free rate quote here. He is the one, the only,
my partner and friend. The brains are the outfit, mister
Brian No. Hello, b what's going on in Defman? Good
to be here with you on a Sunday. I think
(00:43):
our rooster misses the NFL. I think that's why it
turned a little bit off. You know, he's not the
only one. He's not the only one. Believe me, he's
not the only one. By the way. You know, first
of all, how was you weep? Because I got a
lot of things to kind of share with you. But
let's see it was good, busy as normal, but good.
No complaints over here? How about, well you should have
(01:03):
a complaint. You should have a complaint because you being
was it a portland Onian? What is a call if
you live in Portland, Portland, on Portlander, Portland or whatever?
All right, Friday night? I mean, I'm thinking about this.
How did this happen with three referees blowing a call
against your Portland Trailblazers against Utah Jazz in Utah losing
(01:24):
the game? One's seventeen one fourteen. They couldn't get a
shot off there. And I'm saying this stuff shouldn't happen
with three three it does? I mean, what was the
feedback on the streets in Portland after this? It turned
into Philadelphia over here, because Portland it's a different vibe Andy,
it's and they would hate me saying this, but it's
(01:45):
a little California, a little bit where it's just like,
hey man, let's go to the coast. You hear that
a lot in California. Let's go to the coast. You know,
just what's the big deal? You know it's and then
the blown call and it was hideous. I'm bad. This
was goaltending no doubt about it, and the Blazers just
fighting their guts out Friday night. Down to seven healthy players,
(02:09):
Dame puts the team on his back. Damian Lillard goes
for forty two points and it's easy. Goltending call on
Rudy Gobert wasn't made. Leads to a loss and it
turned into Boston Philly a mixture of that or they
wanted blood, baby, this was crazy in their eyes. Well,
I will say this. If you don't believe us, let's
(02:30):
take a listen to that Portland goaltending call. Damn down
by two, he brings across the timeline, splits the defense,
Tribles Drives goes up off the class, it's bluck and
rebounded by angles with a goalten. How is that not
a goaltend? But that is terrible? I love it. That
courtesy of KBOJ Blazer's ready on that way. I love it.
(02:51):
The guy had a pair of coons, he said, how
is that not a goltending? More often than not, announcers
today in this day and age, they're afraid they have
to walk on it shelves. They're afraid of their job. Really, well,
you know, it might've been a little muted. If it
was the other way around, you know, let's say that
it was uh, I don't know, Donovan Mitchell drove to
(03:11):
the bucket and there was a goaltending on Caleb Swan
again or whatever, like it's you know, the Jazz are
on the short end of the stick. I don't know.
If my guy Travis Demurz on the call, there would
have been like that is outrageous over here because yeah,
the Blazer fans don't want to hear that, but yeah,
when it's for your team, you can go a little crazy.
So Demurz went off and Michael Holton, the color commentator.
(03:34):
That's the crazy thing is it was so plain to
tell on the ESPN side, on the TV side, if
it's a local television with Portland, it was immediate where
it's like that was gold ending. What are they? And
the people that are calling the game are much farther
away from the action than the officials were just a
complete botch on their part. Now, well, I'm gonna say
(03:57):
something that may upset you. Okay, I understand you're in
Portland and you kind of bleed Trailblazers on your sleeve.
I'm gonna sell my inner you know, Blazers vibe over here. Andy,
I'm gonna come after your throat here if you say something. Okay, no, no,
but I'm saying this. It's bad if you're a Blazer fan.
But you know, I really have no dog in this fight.
What's even worse is to look for the NBA and
(04:18):
the officials. That's the big part. I mean, it's kind
of like a big car buncle. If you know what
I'm talking about, a carbuncle on your forehead. That's what
it is. Yeah, it is. I agree with that. And
to be fair and truthful about this, it's screwed the
Jazz as well. You know, it's obvious that the Blazers
got hosed by this, but the Jazz they might have
(04:40):
won this game anyway. If that goaltending call is made,
they still have time left. There's about eleven seconds or
so in the game. They had a chance to score
at the end of regulation. If it goes into overtime again,
the Blazers are down to seven healthy bodies. They just
it was the second night of a back to back.
They're in alt to two, right. They had a fourteen
(05:02):
point lead at halftime and it was you know, gone
erased so they're running out of gas. So the Jazz
very well could have won that game in regulation or
in overtime, and instead it's only about this blown call.
And it's as if they were handed the game and
oh right, charity, and we're not focusing on anything that
(05:23):
they did to put themselves in a position to win
the game. It's only about the officiating. Now, you're exactly right.
And I understand why these guys don't get reprimanded, they
don't get fined, they don't get suspended. It's amazing, really,
I mean, you know, this day and age, you could
screw up pick you know what it's like being a
TV weatherman. You know, if they're wrong seven out of
ten times, who no one cares. There's no accountability. Really
(05:43):
think about it. Yeah, I know. And CJ McCullum was
talking about this, and he made a good point. He
was basically saying what you were saying, which is, hey,
there's money at stake. This could eventually cost us a
playoff spot, which means money. And so if you're affecting
our money, which should affect your money. I understand that,
(06:04):
but man, some people are losing their minds over here
where it's like they want their firstborn child because of this,
and it's like, my goodness, though it's getting nuts. You know, Listen,
that was a call that should have been made. But
it is not easy to get everything right. And this
is one of the instances, Andy, I am pro replay,
(06:25):
but I think it's funny so many people are like,
just get replay out of here. It's so much better
without replay. And a situation like this where like, how
can you not review that? You know? So we want
more replay to fix the wrongs. And I think this
is an instance where it shows you that replay isn't
(06:46):
bad in totality, even though a lot of people make
it out to me, well, you know what they say,
Tome heals all wounds, and certainly it's going to go away.
People forget about it. But again, when I say Tome
heals all wounds. What happened yesterday in Bloomington, Indiana. The
return of an emotion Robert Montgomery night after a twenty
year split with Indiana. It was wonderful. It was a
tear jerker. I loved it. I felt even even worse
(07:09):
watching him kind of limp out to the court. He
needed some assistance. Let's take a listen to the coach.
(07:50):
That was the worst sound we've ever played on this show.
I'm pretty confident it was gasping for air. There. I
saw Dick Vitale on TVs. Came, you hug me, came,
he hugged me, and he was jostling with Dick vital
You know, he didn't look good. He really didn't look good.
And I don't understand how he deteriorated so quickly, really
and truly, I mean, he just and I felt baffoot.
(08:11):
I mean, I love him. I mean, there's a lot
of people. I mean, he's one of those guys either
love or hate and I love him to death. I
really do. And he was always with me on my
local radio show, which was very unusual because he didn't
do a lot of that stuff. He really did right well.
My takeaway is this, Andy, I typically love bad blood
in sports, but watching Bob Knight go back to Indiana,
(08:33):
I realized that I love bad blood in sports during careers.
You know, I don't love bad blood post career. And
with Bob Knight not going there to Indiana for twenty years,
I thought it was great that he was back there.
It just looks right when he's wearing the Indiana sweater,
you know, like he's Indiana. Indiana's better with him there.
(08:55):
So I thought it was cool that the bad blood
didn't continue, right with him and the university. It's better
to patch things up, you know, if there's bad blood
between two fighters and they're going at it in mma
or whatever. But well, after the fact that they're retiring,
I don't want the bad blood to continue. It seems
petty at that point. Well, I will tell you this
U was. I think sometimes it's best when a guy leaves,
(09:17):
just stay away because you don't want to see him
later on in life. For example, one summer, I went
up to Cooperstown, New York, to the Hall of Fame,
and I have all these former players on the street
and little tables signing autographs, was selling trinkets, whatever it
may be. I saw one guy he must have weigh
about three hundred pounds, and I said, who's this slab? Really?
And someone told me it was Cleete Boyer. And as
a kid living in New York City, I remember he
(09:39):
played third base for the Yankees one number six. I said,
this can't be Cleete Boyer. I mean, really, he looks
like a sumer wrestler. It was unbelievable, really, so I
think sometimes it's better to have the memories that you
remember as a child or even growing up what they
look like when they played. I just it was eerie
seeing Cleete Boyer looking like that. He had more chins
than I could count. Really, I just think I get
(10:02):
The thought I had is to just hear your thoughts
that you don't voice. You know, what made me going
through your head when you're like, who's the freaking slob
over here? Like stuff that you don't say. You know,
I don't know if I want to know those thoughts,
Andy Furman, I gotta be honest with you. I don't
know if I want to say him actually really right,
it may not be with you next week if I do. Really,
(10:23):
I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be. I'm going to go
out in a limb and say that's very accurate. Well,
I came into the segment saying what do you think?
I think they cut the question of the days what
do you think about XFL and we could really roll
into the next segment a little more in depth about
the rules of the game. Did you watch it? What
you think of the presentation. You know, I think there'll
be some pretty good ratings when it comes out out
(10:44):
of curiosity. I think that's why people will tune it in.
Will I come back, I don't know. And I kind
of thought of one thing which I'll lay on you
and the next segment. You know, how this league could
make it and why it's going to make it or
not make it. You know, it's not all at least
about the players. It's about promotion and maybe TV. You
know that that could be the key because remember, well, hey,
(11:06):
we'll get into it a little bit more for sure,
but you know, it's it's ball. I think that timing
of it is pretty interesting because you either had two options.
You could go into your season the week after the
Super Bowl right or you could wait till maybe the
end of February the very beginning of March, and then
(11:27):
go for it. And I think there are pros and
cons we can get into that based on when they
decided to start. It's tough. It's tough to get it
just right because there are drawbacks with either playing beginning
yesterday or playing in a month from now. I think
that's kind of interesting if you dive into that as well,
and I'm sure the two of us will come with
some sort of a conclusion. You know how we can
(11:49):
help them really if they're listening to us, Yes we do.
We don't create questions, We answer them. That's what we do.
Brian and Andy fermanwit together and you can get us

nine in the lineup in this hour of course with
(12:11):
the amazing Chris p Bronx Talk Radio, and of course
Hour two Bonm Barrel Betting Hour number three Brian Noan
Knows Picks and we're brought to you by Cincinnati Bell
powering your Connected life. It's kindler and gentler, and we'll
tell you all about it. Next, you're listening to Fox
Sports Radio Radio. Will it Fly? Well, we'll get to
(12:33):
that in just about a minute nineteen past the hour.
This is Fox Football Sunday. He's Brian Noa, Andy Furman.
We are live from the guy called Fox Sports Radio Studios.
And speaking of that, it's time right now for the
Gey go play today Jones with three with two for
the word no tap to five bags sitting the blue
(12:55):
doveles with it ninety eight to ninety Gotgo Player of
to day is a Duke game winner. We'll get to
that in a second. Courtesy if they shoemate from Learfield
IMG College. And of course, do you own or rent
your home? Sure you do. Fortunately, Getico makes it easy
to bundle you home and auto insurance. It's a good thing.
It's a good thing because having a home is hard work.
(13:16):
Go to Geico dot com, get a quote and seeing
what you could say Geico dot com, it's easy. What
a game there, my friend ninety eight ninety six and
ot Duke was sweating in Chapel Hill. Now in North
Carolina goes down to three and nine in the Conference
iv A What a year for North Carolina. Ten and
thirteen in the season. Now, that would have made their
(13:38):
season if they were able to beat Duke at home
and they should have a huge lead. They're by ten
points in the final two minutes and they ended up
losing in overtime. But how about the drama, man, that
was a lot of fun. Andy. If you just throw
the records out the window for a second and think
it's a great rivalry. And at the end of regulation
where Trey Jones misses the free throw intentionally by just
(14:02):
throwing it at the front of the rim, it Caram's
off all crazy and they eventually tie it up, send
it to overtime. That was wild. And then just the
final sequence in the game where it was Trade Jones
again and shoots the airball to put back for the
Dukies to win it. I just thought that was a
lot of fun to watch the game instead of just
(14:23):
wake me up when March Madness rolls around. That was
a great game for any of the football fans have
been entrenched in football and I haven't had a lot
of time for college basketball. That was a great way
to sort of usher them in, like, hey, come on
in college oops. The water's great, you know great. I
thought that was really well done. It was great timing
(14:43):
for college oops, and it was a great game. If
you didn't know the record of North Carolina, that was
the key. I mean, everybody knows that it's a backyard
brawl between those two schools, but you would think going
into the game that'll be so lopsided and one side
of his favor of Duke, and it wasn't that way.
So you had to go in the with an open mind.
Not looking at the North Carolina record, I got a
feeling that this could be it. That's the end of
(15:05):
the road for Roy Williams because the problems that he
encountered and he scaveed those. He was like a teflon coach.
He got by the the courses that were like invisible
courses of North Carolina, and some of the problems he's
had he got to pass on that, I guess because
the team was so successful. But all of a sudden,
when you lose and you couple that together, there's gonna
(15:26):
be bye bye Roy. I think, no so at all.
But they're not gonna, you know, give him the chop
over there. But no, no reassigned as they say, quote
will reassign you in the department. Oh really, So he's
just going to be teaching, like algebra teaching. I mean,
go out there, mixed speeches, you know, basically got a
(15:46):
paycheck and just you know, go away. No give If
this was a trend, maybe, but they missed Cole Anthony.
They finally got Cole back, and you could tell yesterday
they almost took down one of the top teams in
the country, so I don't think that Roy Williams is
out of a job. One thing I will say about
this game, though, Andy is uh I hated toward the
(16:07):
end of the game in overtime, North Carolina had the ball.
They're inbounding the basketball up by one, it's about fifteen
seconds to go, and they throw it to it's one
other teammate's throw it to a North Carolina player. He's
got the ball right, both hands are on the ball,
and a Duke player comes over and slaps the ball away,
(16:28):
and if you slow it down frame by frame, it
looks like it touches the North Carolina player's hand last,
And I just hate that. It's just like the Christmas
Day game where Lebron has the ball, Pat Bev slaps
it away and it's like, if you slow it down,
(16:48):
you know, to the micrometer, Yeah, it touches Lebron's finger
ever so slightly. But if the player is slapping the
ball away, I just think it should be out on
that player. It should be out on the guy slapping
the ball away. I'm with you. One of the things
I dislike about replay well and I've seen it so
many times because the guy slaps it away, but it
(17:10):
touches the fingertips of the person he slapped. And that's look.
I mean, sometimes it's a game change. It really can be.
Speaking speaking of changing, I mean they change football that
look at me going into another Uh. We had that
in the National Championship game too, remember that with Virginia
and Texas Tech. Right right, And it's like the Virginia
player slaps the ball away and then you go to replay,
(17:32):
and well, if we flow it down, it's actually just
barely grazing the Texas Tech players right finger lest I
just dislike that. I'm for replay, you know me, I'm
pro replay. But that's just one of the huge drawbacks
I hate about it. I don't to go to The
things that I dislike in college basketball is the fact
that when there's a loose ball or a hell ball,
(17:55):
I'd like to then go back to a jump ball
rather than the team where the arrow is. I just
like that. I really don't. I'd rather see a jump ball.
I really would jumping up like men instead of right
position hoar, And I just don't go for that. Really
no good anyway, I'll tell you why we said it's
a kinder and gentler XFL as opposed to the one
that was way back when. And one of the reasons
(18:16):
I say that because we don't have guys like Brian
Bosworth and Jerry the King Lowler doing announcing. You had
Steve Levy yesterday at least the game that I saw
early on, he was doing the announcing there. And more
than that, you don't have like that rough and tumble
hatred that you had in the XFL, like wrestling. It
was last time you had like names on the back
of the jerseys like he hate Me. There was Rod Smart,
(18:38):
I think, and death blow to Jamal Duff. I mean,
not have the regular names on the back of their
jerseys now. So those are the two things that in
my mind makes it a little kinder and gentler this
time around. I hear what you're saying. Look, I think
the first go around it helped them here and now
because they have a name. Even though the league the
(18:58):
first instance it crashed and burned, right, but it got
a lot of attention, and some of that was the
crazy stuff with the names on the back of the
jerseys and right like it just it had a presence
and really a lot of ideas from the original XFL
that the NFL borrowed or copied. Right, It's like they
(19:19):
had some really smart innovations. So yeah, this go around,
there's they have a name. There are people that are
going to watch, at least initially because of that first
go around. And I really like some of the rule
changes Andy, I'll be honest with you, like no extra points,
you can go for one, two, or three. I think
that's really smart because you have to differentiate yourself from
(19:43):
the NFL. Their rules aren't so radically different where it's
almost like they're not playing football. It's like, this is football,
but you have to differentiate yourself to put that in
the minds of your audience of like, hey, hey, this
is football. It's not the NFL. Though. That's important to
understand because you don't want people to constantly compare your
league to the NFL and be stand offers and say
(20:05):
this is second rate, this isn't the NFL. You want
to put that thought in the minds of yeah, this
isn't the NFL, but check it out for what it is. Right,
And this is twenty twenty right now, the year twenty
twenty and you can't stick your head in the sand
because the announcers right now in the xfl are giving
points spreads. You can't hide from it. And I love
that and that's great. I mean, it's a great thing
because look, I'm not a big time gambler. Look at
(20:26):
me and boom barrew betting. There's the proof of the pudding.
But I will say this that I think that in
this day and age, you cannot hide for this. Casino's
all over the place. People are wagering, and that's just
the name of the game. Sorry, you gotta mention it. Yeah,
it's everywhere, it really is, and it's on the graphics
the whole game. I just spread and the total and
(20:47):
they're really wrapping their arms around it. And I think
that's a smart play. And you had an instance in
that first game, the very first game this season where
the DC Defenders. I wonder, if I guy vin A,
it's going to be decked out in DC Defender's gear
anytime soon, we'll get it, did you really? No, I'm
I haven't, but I am excited. It was really happy
(21:08):
they got there after it was a Defender's hoodie over there.
It was a good looking red hoodie on the sidelines.
I was thinking of running a letter to get one today.
I appreciate that. Yeah, it's pretty, it's pretty. It was
pretty fun. I was here with Steve Hartman producing their
show yesterday and we were watching, you know, pretty exciting stuff.
It was good. It was fun, and I agree with Brian.
(21:29):
I like that. I'm not a gambler myself, but I
did like how they add those lines up there. It's
just right on the screen. I'm more excited about the hoodie.
I want that red hoodie. I'll tell you what. I'm
going to get that letter out to the equipment man today.
I look up on the staff on the Google. I'll
google the Defenders and get the front office staff because
I want to get it before the league folds. Did
you see the bad beat though in that game Andy
(21:49):
where the DC Defenders they're up by twelve and the
Seattle Dragons, I'm sorry, d C was favored by nine
and a half, right, and they have a twelve point
lead the DC, I'm sorry the Dragons, the team trailing
by twelve. They kick a field goal, right, so they're
down by nine. The spreads nine and a half. They're
(22:11):
down by nine, So if you bet on Seattle, that's
a good thing. It was running into the kicker, so
they're like, well, i'll take the points off the board,
and they went to try to score a touchdown. They
eventually fumbled. No more points scored in the game. So
if you bet on the Dragons plus nine and a half,
well then you lost your cash because they lost by
twelve and that also affected the total. The total was
(22:33):
fifty one and a half. That field goal would have
made it fifty three combined points, but they took the
points off the board. They didn't score again. There's plenty
of time in the fourth quarter, no more scorers. So
if you bet either the Seattle Dragons or the over
for the game, you got host. You got host on
that right. You know, it's funny because people are gonna say, well,
(22:54):
I'm not gonna watch it because there's no big names
that I know, and there's no quarterbacks I guess of
household names. But I'll tell you what I've bypassed that
A if you love football, you're gonna watch it. Be
The plus for this league right now is the games
are and there's an eight team league. The games are
either on ABC, FOX, FS one or f S two.
So they got the exposure. That's the key. The more
(23:16):
homes that tune this in and believe it. There's gonna
be a lot of dead weekends but there's nothing going on.
People are gonna turn it on. They're gonna get accustomed
to it. The names gonna be more commonplace, and if
you love football, this will fly. It's gonna fly. And
how's it gonna fly. Not because the quarterbacks or a
lot thereof. It's gonna fly because of TV exposure. Yeah,
I'm with you. They've got two major networks on their side.
(23:38):
And this isn't going head to head with the NFL,
Make no mistake. This is going head to head with
college basketball and the NBA. That's what it's competing against.
The NFL isn't in season right now, right, So it's
not about that. It's about going against basketball. And there
are gonna be a lot of football obsessed people that
are like, yeah, I'm really not into the March madness
(23:59):
things yet, I'm really not even into the NBA just yet.
Wake me when the playoffs roll around. There are a
lot of sports fans that are like that. I'm not
advocating for it, but the XFL is absolutely competing for
the time of those sports fans that aren't fully invested
in hoops right now, you're exactly You're right. Comments are welcome,
of course on Twitter, at the No Show, That's Noe Show,
(24:20):
at Andy Furman fsr O. Phone calls welcome as well
at eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. And did
you really have a problem with this? That's next, But
first our own problem. What the latest that is? Hey Dad,
how you going? Hey, hey, hey, hey hey, rapid fire
(24:43):
over here? Lebron James Canning a fadeaway three porter in
the clutch as the Lakers dal andelle to the last
place Warriors last night one twenty five, one twenty. The
unexpected tight finish left Lakers, said coach Frank Vogel on
the verge of barfing. Not our best win, not a
pretty win, but it's a win, and we did enough
(25:04):
down a stretch to secure the victory. You hope it's uh,
you know, you play a little bit better, a little
less sloppy again with our turnovers in the second game
in a row. Was costly, but you know, at least
we're able to get to w Anthony Davis blamed the
close win on the poor transition defense. The Nuggets, meantime,
tranquilized the Suns one seventeen one OA Jamal Murray making
(25:27):
fourteen of seventeen field goals. He had thirty six points.
Denver sitting comfy and second in the Western Conference, just
three games back of the Lakers. The Clippers are three
and a half games back of the first place Lakers,
and La the clip show that is puking against the Wolves.
Minnesota ending a thirteen game losing streak with a one
(25:47):
forty two one fifteen emasculation of the Clippers. The Raptors
make it fourteen wins in a row after duping the

And of course we'll have BRONX Talk ready with the
(26:52):
amazing Chris p in less than ten minutes. But by
the way, Andy, yes, sir, before we move on for
a second, I just wanted to get to this and
we can talk more XFL later in the show. But yeah,
I was just thinking about the timing of the league
where they went right after the Super Bowl, you know,
And I think that was the right call because people
(27:13):
are still in football mode, so just you get them
going right now. But I thought that was there was
a drawback with it because you just saw the Chiefs
and forty nine ers. And it was a good game, right,
it was dramatic, and you've been in playoff mode, you
see the best of the best. You're used to that.
So I thought it was dangerous to start your league
(27:34):
immediately after the NFL, which is a much higher level
of football. But I'll count of that by saying football
promotes football. They're better off doing that. And I'll tell
you what for those who think so, I think so also, yeah, yeah,
And I'll argue with those who'll say, well, they should
have changed the name of the league. No, you hit
it right out of the XFL had some traction to it.
(27:55):
Absolutely use that. I mean you start with you starting
with something you could week in little bit, which they
did with the rules and things like that and the
announcers and they got the network. But stay with the XFL.
And I'm saying people will tune in for out of curiosity. Absolutely.
I think it's like this, Andy, tell me if you
buy this comparison or not. This is why I thought
it was dangerous. I still think it was the right
(28:15):
thing to do to start when they did yesterday, but
immediately after the Super Bowl. It would be like going
to a concert that is just unbelievable. This show was awesome,
and then you see another show right after, and if
it isn't as awesome, you're like, man, that wasn't nearly
as good, right, It's almost as if it stinks by comparison,
(28:37):
you know. That's why I thought it was dangerous to
start the XFL immediately afterwards. Yeah, I think it's to
do it because you get out of football mode. If
you go a month after the Super Bowl is played,
I think it's the right way to do it. People
still have their football jerseys and they haven't washed them
yet and they still wear them. It's like going to
see the Rolling Stones and after that going to see
a garage band. But still music is music, you know. Yeah, Yeah,
(29:00):
I think ultimately it was the right thing to do
start the week after, But there it wasn't a perfect scenario,
you know, because you're gonna be compared to the NFL
starting it a week after the NFL season ends, There's
no doubt. But I like what Steve Levy said early
on because I turned it on. I wanted to see
how the presentation was going to be and he kind
(29:21):
of hit this, Hey, don't like he didn't say it
exactly He didn't say don't expect the NFL, but he said,
ninety five players in this league or whatever either went
to NFL camp, so we're on a roster, got cut.
So he basically said, like they're either vying for a spot,
war on a spot, or trying to just get back
to a spot. So and that's great. He laid it
(29:42):
right out there in the beginning, like don't expect to
see the NFL. They didn't say it in so many words,
but you know, put the dots together, you'll figure it out.
I think the XFL they've positioned themselves in a very
smart way. Yes, I think the promotion has been good.
I think Oliver Luck has been great for the league
so far. I think a couple of the rule tweaks
(30:02):
are fun and interesting. I like the shootout style overtime rule.
We haven't seen overtime yet, but it's like hockey or
soccer where one team gets a chance to score and
then the other team is on the other end of
the field and they get a chance to score it.
I think that's really interesting. So some of their rules
tweaks are progressive, and you know, just embrace it for
(30:24):
what it is. It's fast, food football. Right, It's not
a five star restaurant. It's fast food football. And if
you know that, going in there's plenty of fast food restaurants.
I love, right, And I'm gonna yeah, I'll say this,
embrace this for what it is too. But because all
I've heard all week long after the Super Bowl is
an upro with that halftime show with half dressed Crouch
grabbing by Jalo and Shakira. And you know what, I
got no problem. I had no Maybe there's something wrong
(30:46):
with me. I had no problem. I'm hearing people on
local talk show. See, well my daughter was watching it,
so what so get a life, please, you know what
you don't like it? Turn it off, look in the
other room. Yeahee, I was I think this way Andy,
there are I'm not a parent, hopefully one day I
(31:07):
will be. But some parenting advice from a non parent
this morning, quick. Here's what I'm thinking is there are
a lot of parents like the example you just said, Hey,
my young daughter was watching, my young son was watching,
and now I gotta have a conversation with him, and
it's like, yeah, that's what parenting is. There are a
lot of parents that want things to be magically tailored
(31:30):
so they don't have to have those conversations. I got
news for you. That's the best time to have those conversations.
If you go to a baseball game or a football game,
there's some drunk fan he's cursing up with storm and
all that. There are a lot of parents that just
want that problem removed. Just remove that problem and life's
going to be much better. You're better off as a
parent experiencing that. So you can tell your son or
(31:52):
daughter like, hey, here's the deal. You could explain it
to him, because guess what, when they're fourteen fifteen years old, what,
they're grown up a little. If they haven't experienced those
things and you haven't given them the play by play
of how you should respond accordingly, they're not gonna know.
They're not gonna know any better. So you should actually
(32:13):
embrace those moments because that's what they're gonna experience in life.
Stuff's gonna be jacked up all the time. There's problems
to encounter all the time. So I would rather have
those moments with my kids so they know what they
should do, right, That's how I would look at that.
Excellent Excellent from a non parent excellent. I love that
you should write that down and put it in the
(32:35):
those notes book. But I will say this, if you
didn't know that Shakira was gonna be shaking her thing,
then you're a moron. I mean, that's what she does. Really,
If you didn't know that, you're an idiot. U Yeah,
good point. Right. If you're a parent, you're like, I
can't believe Shakira and she's wiggling her hips, and it's like, yeah,
(32:55):
that's a sort of the deal. I know that if
you have a problem with you shouldn't have been tuning in,
But I think that you should embrace those moments as
a parent, because if you think that removing the problems
is the best way to go about it, you're in
this fake I don't know, this world that doesn't exist.
Because you're a kid, They're going to experience those problems
(33:16):
once they're away from your watch. I'd much rather have
them know what to expect instead of not know at
all and they hit the real world and then they're like,
what is happening over here? You can't shelter them like that,
you know. I'm going to read a piece that I
read in a New York City newspaper earlier this week,
Sunday's halftime by design objectified women is hot, barely dressed,
(33:39):
crotch and rear and thrusting unescorted booze bobbing sex kittens.
I don't think it was that way. Maybe there's something
wrong with me. I don't get it. And why are
people so outraged by it? Really? Come on, it's just people, man,
It's just how it goes. It's like, look, man, they're dancing, okay,
like the singing. Have you seen cheerleaders in this day
(34:03):
and age. They're not exactly covered up from head to
toe like they live in the Middle East. You know.
It's like, come on, this is the world that we're
in right now. And I just look, I can understand
if it isn't your cup of tea, that's fine. I'm
not saying that you should embrace it fully and all
of a sudden just be all about it, but to
(34:23):
just be disgusted and I can't. I am outraged over here.
It's like, what's at the heart of that. At the
heart of it is you want things to be tailored
perfectly for you, and that isn't reality, that isn't life.
You're better off embracing those moments and navigating around them,
because that's how life is. And if you're teaching your
(34:45):
son and daughter, you want to have those moments instead
of saying, oh, if they didn't exist, it'd be much easier.
That's not the way with this. Be honest with me
on this one. You got to admit that you probably
thought I was going to be that guy got off
my lawn, and I was one of those guys. I
hated it. I love that you're anti get off my lawn, Like,
that's fine, come on, little crotch grabbing who's Who's. I
went back on YouTube and watch it again, and you
(35:08):
all loved it. I love it, really, I loved it
better than the game. No, I didn't love it bit
in the game anyway, but I did comments. So welcome,
of course at the no Show at Andy Furman FSR

topics of the day. Put me not waking out of here.
(36:21):
Here's something we like to call Bronx Talk Radio, posted
by the Great Crispy Regazzi. So you know how they're
saying likes you knows they got seventeen thousand people come
out to a Houston Roughnecks game out there, by the way,
What what did Regazzi mean of it? Regazzi's boys. It's Italian. Yeah,
I didn't even know any why it's Regazzi It's boys, yeah, yeah, yeah, Anyway,
(36:42):
seventeen thousand fans shut up to the rough Riders or
roughnecks for Houston. For Houston. You think the charges will
be happy to get those numbers one day? You think
they know we're just now? Yeah? Was a paper the
house for pape of the house. Yeah they do? You
think they paypered the house? Yeah? I go like that,
I do. They look legit up there. I'm not gonna lie, right,
(37:03):
but they got free beasts to get in there, all right,
listen to you. Well, there was a decent turnout for
the DC defenders over there. Exact prob not bad. We'll
see how it goes anyway. So you know, here in
the Bronx, we're all about the Yankees. We love the
Yanks here. But let's let's talk about the losers for
a second. The New York Mets, whose fans include Jerry Seinfeld,
Jason Smith, and a bunch of other freaking losers, apparently
(37:26):
having trouble selling the freaking team. Billionaire hedge fund managers
Stephen Cohen wanted to buy the team. He had the money.
It fell through. Why because the Willponds who owned the team,
were saying, we're gonna sell you the team, but we
still want to have say in what goes on most
of all in Jeff Willpon being the COO and Cohen said, no,
(37:47):
I'm buying this freaking team from you. I want to
be the one that says what's going on, so the
purchase falls through. Now major League Baseball is helping the Mets.
They're saying stuff like, hey, you know, well, we're gonna
bar you from buying other teams. Now, what do you
guys think of all that? How dare you make fun
of my friend Jeff Ulipon, who went to my high school,
(38:08):
Lafayant High School in Brooklyn with SAYD the Kofax. Well,
he's a terrible sports owner. What do you want me
to say? What is it with you? If somebody writes
you a letter back, you are faithful to the end
to my high school. That's over here for you guys,
you don't get a say. You get to hit the
freaking road over else. You buying a sports You don't
(38:30):
know anything about loyalty. Loyalty. I'm loyal to the people
I love or when what they're wrong, I'm gonna say
they're wrong. Over here. You just don't have that gene.
If I get andy a freaking donut. He'll be loyal
to me until the day I get damn right. You're
damn right. That's all it takes for Andy. You're cheap
day to him. If Freddy's not a judge or something,
(38:53):
it's like, all right for grand theft or wait, wait
a minute, he fixed my sandwiches. It's subway. He's fine,
no problem, no problem at all. Huh. Let's move on.
Let's talk about the UFC for a second. John Jones bones.
Jones debats Dominic Rayes, goes, the fight goes the freaking distance. Miraculously,
Jones managed to stay clean. Yes, he stand off the drugs.
(39:16):
He stayed off the drugs and was able to fight
in this match Halla freaking Louja. Reyes was twelve and zero,
but this is his first ever UFC championship. The judges
give Jones the win. Jones looks like he's gonna have
to head on up to the heavyweight division to find
some fights. Did you guys watch this fight at all?
What do you think all about the name John Jones
over here? He didn't win this fight, but because of
(39:38):
his thank yous awarded this fight. Let's cut through it.
That's what I want to see him take a leak
in a cup. That's the key. That's bigger than a fight.
You want to see a guy take a leak. Okay, well,
let me listening. You've got some you've got some perversions,
Andy Furman, Right, all right, So speaking of perversions, let's
(39:59):
go out Brian perversions. Brian's in time out. Okay, let's
go out. Why you have him as a son. It's
because of your perversions over the now we're trying to
go with misdirection, Andy, we see through it. Okay, Okay, Well,
let's go out to India too. Oh what the state
of Kerala in Shallakudi? I thought that was upstate New
(40:21):
York or whatever. So a restaurant out there was closing
down to dumps all of its liquor out into the
drain after it's closed. Well, the problem is all that
liquor went into the drinking well of an apartment nearby.
Eighteen families left without clean water, but plenty of freaking booze.
I'll tell you what. I'd be brushing my teeth eight
(40:42):
times a day if you'd be brushing it with bourbon
and vodka. Oh yeah, who's a legitimate complaint? If you
don't have water, and it's that you got vodka. That's
a reason to be outraged. Its Sharon j Lo shaking
their things on the Super Ball halftime. You know what
I mean? Vodka? Huh? Can you laugh at Rupperts a vodka? Yes,
(41:05):
my be squeaky cleto. Then you're listening to Fox Sports
Radio Radio. All of a sudden, this team has some
major concerns. That's coming right up. But right now it's
time to get you up. Yes, wake up, America. Oh
you sounded so sweet. He's Brian Noah Many Firmer Well,
coming to you live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
(41:25):
We're brought to you by Geico. Fifteen minutes can save

my friend, the hardest working man in show business that
I promise you, and the brains of the outfit as well,
the one, the only mister B. We call him that,
but his real name is Brian no Hello, b what's
(41:46):
going on? Andy Furman? Glad to be here with you
as I always am, and I mean that truly. I've
got a couple of food things to get off my
chest here. If you're in do it at all, Andy,
I mean dropped them on your on your chest. No, no, no,
just bringing you up to speed with my diet. I
know you're at the edge of your seat right here,
(42:06):
but real quickly, I've basically eliminated fast food from my
approach here, which is a huge step from me heavy.
Well when you do, you know of a weight or anything. Yeah,
it's just eating healthier, that sort of thing. But I
just had some oatmeal this morning. It was unbelievable. I
still use brown sugar. I know that's a no no,
but come on, I can't get that. I'm a big
oatmeal guy. In Then with the instant oatmeal, did you
(42:28):
pull it with hot water one minute? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's the ways in it. Nah, I don't go with that,
just brown sugar. So you can tell I'm a work
in progress. But I've got a krill now, Andy Furman.
I was grilling out like crazy. I had pork chops
the other night. I had steak a couple of nights ago.
Was amazing. I just might grill out every night from
here on out. The weather's that good, huh, it's good enough. Wow,
(42:53):
I was a maniac. Back at home in South Bend,
we would grill out in sub zero temperatures. I'm a
maniac when it comes to grilling out. You grilling. Grilling
is good. I love grilling, but I don't like going
out when it's cold the grill. Like wear shorts, go out,
they eat outside a little bit, you know, have a
couple of bruce kis, but the weather's cold. I don't
(43:15):
really go for the grilling. You know. Hey, I get you, man,
I hear it. I love you know, anything over forty
five to fifty degrees my grill. I'll try to grill
my apple cinnamon neutri grain bars whenever you send them
to me, Andy, I'll try that on the grill. Maybe
that's a good way to I I may deliver them
in person and shock you one weekend. Really, you're just
gonna roll by Portland. Huh. That's what you did to
(43:36):
me once from saying all right, yeah, come on, Brial,
I'll take you to a Blazers game. I hopefully don't
get ripped off like they did against Utah the other night,
because you're gonna walk away like there's some maniacs around
here in Portland. Yeah, no, you got something off your chest.
I want to get something off mine because I want
to clear the air because I think the perception of
me is that I always got my hand out because
Justin and Cincinnati tweets, it's just shocking. It's at six
(43:58):
thirty am and any de Firma's already trying to get
free team swag. And I mentioned that the Defenders, the
DC Defenders, I would love swag. I do you know what?
That's a perk that's part of our gig, that's part
of our job. You know, it's a perk you get that,
you know when these college kids go to bowl games.
And I never understood why the NCAA permits this, because
they're not supposed to get extra goodies. They get these
(44:20):
bags worth four or five hundred bucks, you know, with computers,
you know, with the shirts, shoes, whatever it may be,
give cards, the best buy. Come on, so I can't
get a hoodie from the DC Defenders before they go
out of business. I know you're gonna write a letter
which gets my line. Thinking this way, Andy, real fast,
A little glimpse into the psyche of you, Andy Furman
(44:43):
and the resume. Who have you reached out to repeatedly
writing a letter that has shunned you, that hasn't gotten
back to you, And you're like, yeah, it's just funny that.
You know what, I could figure out the personality of
an individual if he doesn't write back. And I'll give
you example. Someone moves into town, I usually write them
(45:05):
a welcome letter, all right, give you an example. The
other day, both my boys graduated Thomas Moore College, which
is now Thomas Moore University, all right, and the president
of Thomas Moore at the time was a guy in
the name of David Armstrong. The hell of a guy
he went, He left down and he went to Saint
Thomas a University in Florida, so he got a new president.
New president moves to town. I write and welcome to
(45:26):
Cincinnati letter. You know what, it's a nice gesture. Never
wrote me back. I happened to meet him at a
meeting the other day. He didn't know who I was.
You know, I saw he was wearing a suit. Someone
introduced him. Walked out to this, Hey, how do you
do being but a bang? And yeah, I said, my
kids went there. And I think he felt a little
funny because I did write them, and he never wrote
me back, which I think is kind of a strange thing.
(45:48):
And then I ate another layer to this. Okay, I said,
you know what, I understand you from a upstate New
York he said, yeah. I said, I'm the guy that
wrote a letter to your hometown paper. Oh they called
me first story. Yeah, I said, you're pr people wouldn't
do it. I did it for you. And I walked
dorough and with shook his hand. But see that's what
I do. It made people feel guilty. That's all like that. Yeah,
(46:09):
and you're all smiles. Yeah, I'm not a mean person. Right,
that's a good name. But you're very passive aggressive, You're
very like, yeah, yeah, I made it happen. Your PR
team they didn't take the time, but I did do it.
You know, by the way, you didn't write me back.
You didn't have the decency. But you'll say that in
a very sly way. You'll say it with a smile
and just let the end it smooth over them. Yeah,
in a smooth sort of way. Yes, I like that,
(46:31):
and that's what I do, you know, and uh, you
know most coaches do right back. Coach O at LSU,
he always writes back. That's nice, most cool. He ended
with go Tigers. He has to write, but he goes
g E a u X Tigers. Did you get to
Edo before he was at LSU. I don't think so. No, okay,
(46:52):
I just wondered, what you know. I tell you funny story.
That's how I met Bob Night. When I lived on
the East Coast. He was coaching an army and I
wrote to him all the time, I need write me back.
And then when he came to Indiana, I got a
job at radio in Cincinnati, at WLW Radio, and he
agreed to go on with me once a year. But
there were grand rules war a half hour straight, no more,
(47:13):
no commercials, had no phone calls. That was the deal.
That was fine. That's fine, whatever you want. You know.
You know with Bob Knight, you asking one question, you
go out, take a shave of a shower, come back.
He still dogs. I love it. Why don't you crank
it up for our show? You reached out to Bill Belichick,
you know when you were like, hey, coach, I think
this guy. No he's not gonna be around next week.
(47:35):
That'd be the perfect time for you to be on
the show. And nothing else. I have Digger Phelps or
nothing with you. Andy Furman, Huh why did you get
some of these fancy guests, because at six am on
a Sunday morning, it's very difficult to get guests on here. Really,
it's difficult for people on the East Coast the eight
o'clock hour. They're up by eight o'clock. Okay, okay, that's fine, Okay,
(47:55):
you want that, I'll work. I want to make it
happen on Sunday at eight and as it's kind of like,
you know, you're treading on some private time, but you
give me a list, give me a list who you want,
and we'll go. All right, Okay, okay, okay. We we
talked about the halftime show at the super Bowl. Mister
nice guy chimes in here. He says, I took my
son to see the South Park movie when he was nine.
(48:17):
Never shield him from profanity. I always listening to Richard
Pryor albums at his age. Good for you, missed, nice guy,
Good for you. I want to look. I'll just touch
on it real fast. With the super Bowl halftime show.
Some of these parents are just outraged. I get it.
If your son is five years old and he's not
quite ready for things like that, or if you know
(48:38):
you're watching something where there's a lot of cuss words,
or maybe it's promoting a scary movie. Here, there are
a lot of things that little little kids just aren't
ready for. I can appreciate that. Yeah, but this idea
of let's just get rid of it so my son
can live in this magical world that's not life, that's
not put him in a bubble. If you put your
(48:59):
kids in a bubble and then all of a sudden
just say all right, Johnny, you're all grown up, you're sixteen,
you're heading off right, he is going to disintegrate. He's
not ready for the real world. You can't keep your
kids in a bubble. You have to have those teachable
moments and put them on the right path. I would
rather encounter those things as a parent, because that's what
(49:20):
they're going to encounter in life. And speaking of kids,
my kid is feeling the wrath on Twitter as well.
He says, how this is from justin now and Cincinnati
on Twitter, how in the hell is your kid? Brian
Finley not including Duke in the update at the top
of the hour, A travesty. I don't know over there
set your kid straight and hey, yeah, yeah, I'll give
(49:41):
you a hey turn around. I'll give you hey you
know where would have sun them shine? Hey, heys, move on.
One thing you and I have not done is kind
of like go over the super Bowl. It's been a week,
I know, but we haven't met since that time. And
forty nine ers talk about them for a second. They
getting a little heat. They were thirteen and three this
season see West, number one seed in the playoffs, went
(50:02):
to the super Bowl. This coming off a year they
were four and twelve. Tremendous, got a lot of good
young talent for the future. But the question is will
a return to the Super Bowl? What is the problem?
Not a problem? I guess it's being magnified that coach
Kyle Shanahan and his quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo can't get it done.
They said they can't get it done because of that
twenty to ten lead in the fourth quarter, losing to
the Chiefs final three drives. Jimmy g was two for
(50:24):
nine passing for twenty four yards. Yeah, that's the key. Well,
I'll just say this real fast, Andy, is if you
look at the turnaround and this is gonna get lost
in the shuffle. For the Niners, they went from having
the number two overall pick, because that's how horrible of
a record they had two years ago to now having
the second to last overall pick in the first round. Right,
(50:46):
they went from number two overall to number thirty one overall.
That's a huge turnaround. That rivals the Saint Louis Rams
who beat the Titans to win the Super Bowl. That's
how dramatic the turnaround was for the forty nine ers.
So it's still a successful year. But if you fast
forward through all the nice stuff and get down to
brass tacks over here, they had that game and you
(51:10):
got to close the deal. And I think there are
three either people to criticize. There are three areas to blame.
That's the best way to say it. I would look
at Kyle Shanahan who got conservative before halftime, Jimmy g
who missed a lot of throws down the stretch when
it mattered most. The Emmanuel Sanders though the overthroat gosh,
(51:33):
he's open. You airmailed it, and it's like you threw
the ball. It says, if you were an altitude and
the balls took off on you, that's nowhere near you
got to the secondary. Andy. You look at the third
and fourteen conversion to Tyreek Hill where it's a bust
in coverage, Richard Sherman getting burned by Sammy Watkins. They
had a ten point lead. Patrick Mahomes before that third
(51:56):
and fifteen conversion. His passer rating was forty nine. Not
as cue his passer rating that's in the toilet. He
was stinking it up in that game, and then that
third and fifteen conversion due to a bust in the
coverage that got him on track. I look at it
like this, I'll say it real fast, Andy, I think
that Shanahan is third in line at worst in terms
(52:18):
of who to blame. I put that on Jimmy g
missing throws. I put that on the secondary allowing the
Chiefs to get right when it mattered most. You can't
have those busts in coverage. If you don't have those
busts in coverage, they're probably holding up them. The Lombardi
right now, if they don't allow that third and fifteen conversion,
they're Super Bowl champions. They were really one play away.
(52:40):
I think we both agreed last week prior to the
game that San Francisco A was going to win and
San Francisco B was the better team. Yeah, we both
agreed on that, and that's right she did. And I
was pulling for Kansas City, although I thought Kansas City
was going to lose, and they were down twenty to
ten in the fourth quarter and they lost the game
San Francisco. And I tell you what, those final three
drives Jimmy g killed him and this would have scored
(53:00):
the manual saying, he says he would have scored the
go ahead touchdown if you caught that pass that was overthrown. Man,
that would have been a great ending too. If he
hooked up with Manuel Sanders, they're up by four, Mahomes
has a minute and change to work with. That would
have been exciting, but we didn't get that ending. I
would put Shanahan third on the list, and he took
(53:21):
a lot of heat. I think a lot of that
is due to the Falcons blowing the lead against the
Page Priet. But I mean, you got to be reasonable
about that Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs in the
here and now right Like, I didn't like how conservative
he was before halftime. It's embarrassing when your GM is
signaling for timeout in the luxury box, and you don't
need that. He wasn't aggressive, but it didn't come back
(53:43):
to bite him. They still had a ten point lead
in the fourth quarter, they were in position to win,
and then he took heat for not running the ball
enough at the end. And it's like he had Jimmy
G had wide open receivers, he missed George Kittle over
the middle, missed the annual Sanders. That's not on Shanahan,
That's on Jimmy G. In the secondary. I'd put Shanahan
(54:05):
third in the pecking order of who to blame. He
would blame the most. Yeah, by both, Yeah, no doubt.
I would say this though. I think it's better for
the NFL that Kansas City did win. I think it's
absolutely It's obviously better for Andy Reid, and I'm happy
for Andy. I read. I think he punched his ticket
the Canton right now. He's a lovable kind of guy.
I mean, and I saw he's kissing his wife at
(54:26):
the postgame interview and just it was it was wonderfully
why it's because of Mahomes. Oh, they market their star quarterbacks.
It's tune in this Sunday it's Russell Wilson against the
Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. It's always about the big name
QB's and Mahomes is a superstar. For him to win
a ring that's much more meaningful for the NFL than
Jimmy g winning it. Yeah, and the greatest thing was
(54:48):
when they had the parade in Kansas City the other day.
You know, it's funny how media is. It's wild, it
really is. They're comparing the Kansas City Chiefe parade to
the Kansas City Royals, and then they go one step
further and compare it to when President Trump had an
argurrectional speech and the crowd that he had as opposed
to the crowd that Barack Obama had. It's unbelievable, it's crazy.
(55:11):
But again that was outraged parent stuff. Again. Oh look
at these Look at Kelsey cursing in Mahomes shotgunning fires
and their role models. It's like, my goodness, people. Again,
it goes back to these are teachable moments. If you're
a parent, you should have these conversations. You should welcome
stuff like this instead of like rolling your eyes. Oh
(55:33):
my gosh, I gotta have another discussion over here. It's
like Yeah, that should be a good thing for you
as a parent, because that's what life is. That's what
they're going to encounter in life. And here's the thing,
why do you go to the parade? If you go
to the paraye and see that and you're outraged, why
the hell did you go in the first place. What
do you expect to see a Shakespearean an opera? What
do you expect that's your theory about Shakira. Right, of
(55:57):
course she's gonna be gyrating and shaking her hips. That's
what she does. That's that's living. That's how you unreal
It's crazy that people are crazy. They go to criticize.
That's why they go. No, go with an open mind,
realizing these are young kids celebrating and that's what they do.
But they're celebrating in public, not in private. You do
(56:17):
the same thing, but no one watches you celebrate. Meaning
the people that go to the parade, that's what they do.
Who knows Brian tailored to your desires. It's not night,

(57:22):
All right, now, I'm gonna say this guy's making a
comeback tour. Well, I think so kind of a comeback tour.
Talking about Antonio Brown two weeks b two weeks after
posting bail from that moving company incident, he now wants
to turn things around. This guy's a screwball. I wish
I know it's news, and it's very easy for me
(57:42):
to say, don't talk about it, don't right about him.
But he's Newsy, So you know, what is news. News
is something that's out of the ordinary. People ask me
all the time, why is that negative? Because if you
live in a cul de sac and every house is
proper and primed, but one house is on fire, the
one that's on fire is going to be on the
new news. That's what news is. I'm so over this, dude.
(58:04):
I mean really, I think it's it's like, uh, Pete Rose,
who popped up out of nowhere, where we have to
go through that whole thing is should he be in
the Hall of Fame or not. I was just talking
to vin A in the break and vin A and
I are on the same wavelength where it's like, just
for my sanity in terms of sports radio, just let
(58:26):
him in so we don't have to talk about that anymore.
It's been you Rose to Antonio Brown. That's a stretch,
That's what I'm just telling you. In terms of a
topic being beaten to death and me just being done
with it. Antonio Brown is in the Should Pete Rose
be in the Hall of Fame territory. I'm so done
with this clown. Like it's one thing after another where hey,
I'm sorry, I gotta be more mature, and it's like okay,
(58:48):
and then next Tuesday he's acting a fool again. He's
a maniac. That's just where we are with AB. It's
another installment of Aidb's crazy, another installment of AB apologize
him for being crazy and saying he won't be crazy anymore.
And then the next another installment of AB being crazy
and the bearrago n that's the way it is. Well,
I'm not so certain he's saying these things. The statements
(59:11):
that coming out could be from an attorney or some
people who are his handlers right now. But honestly, I
guess he wants to come back. I guess he wants
to come back and play football again. And there's gonna
be someone who's gonna pick him up and give him
a shot. You know that unless the NFL says we
don't want to get back in here. But look, you
know people are gonna say, well, if the commission lets
Sekira go at halftime, ta let Antonio Brown play, right?
(59:36):
I yeah, I don't know, man, I just I hear like,
well wanh wanh w'll want what when someone's like Antonio Brown,
I'm like, he went on a Pittsburgh radio show. He
did an interview for twenty some minutes. You know, you know,
I think I think we have some of that. Do
we could we hear him? Let's hear a b can
we do that? For the discretions, you know, the unwanted
(59:58):
attention that probably called those guys to their name the organization,
So the obviously you want to clear out any any
baggage or any disrespect or unintended attention that was to
brought onto the organization. Though these guys gave me an
opportunity when I was twenty one years old and forever
gray Blue. For those guys have the opportunities, and I
(01:00:18):
only play with those guys. But being so many amazing moments, Wow, Wow,
Why he read that someone wrote that for him? I
don't think that was coming from the heart. I really don't. Yeah,
that's dude, Like you know, you're like a heartless individual.
I mean, give the guy a break. Look, look, you
love Ball and Tyle Brown. Break you know, tell you
(01:00:39):
why I say that? Because I'm selfish by saying this,
you love ball and eye love ball. I'm selfish. I
want to see him play. I want to see him
play that. That's why I say this. I mean he
sabotaged his own career. There's no doubt sympathy for him.
You know what, He's a screwball. He's his own worst enemy.
Whatever happened he created. But still in all, he's one
hell of a football player. I want to watch him play.
(01:01:00):
I enjoy watching him play. Tough it's not happening. Oh really,
The commissioner, Brian No said, so, I'm just saying, why
on earth would you sign up for Antonio Brown? If
you're a team going forward? Why do you think that
the movie is gonna end differently? We've seen the ending
of this movie. Aby's gonna go nuts. He's gone nuts
(01:01:21):
when he's in a bad position. You think he's not
gonna go nuts when he's in a good position. When
he's no, this is what he does. He's drama all day,
every day. To invite that into your locker room, you
get what you deserve if you do that. Because it's
We've said this time and time again, talent Trump's trouble
(01:01:42):
And the point is this is gonna be some team
that's going to some coach who thinks he's a father
Flanagan type, saying that, you know, I'll put him under
my wing. I'll watch him. I could do it. It
happens all the time. But when it comes to his
personal life, Antonio Brown said he's now surrounding himself with
people that are focused on helping him improve his mental health. Okay,
that's what he said before. Well you know what, by
(01:02:03):
what he says, I'm not rooting against the guy. I
hope he gets it straightened out, but I'd love to
see him play, thank you. But I mean goodness, it's
one of these what is it forool me once? Shame
on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me
thirty seven times. I'm the biggest moron on the face
of the year. And it happens we're at with AB.
It happens in sports all the time, right, not just AB.
(01:02:26):
It happens to everybody. But as long as you got
some talent, you're gonna be given a shot. And I
think that if they if he stays out of trouble
between now and maybe camp in June or July, he'll
be picked up to go into a camp to see
if you can get it done, and someone's gonna sign him.
I know that it happens. We've seen it. It's a
repeat performance of reruns. That's what it is. Okay, So
(01:02:48):
your money is on ab. Yes, he'll be a battle
citizen until camp. I say that, I say he's a lunatic.
He's okay, So how's how's the story gonna end? Andy,
he's a lunatic with as a good football players to
go to the right situation. Now, he couldn't even make
it a New England. Dude is toxic. You don't bring
him into your organization at all. Don't do it. It's
(01:03:09):
not gonna be good. Ultimately, it's gonna be bad. So
it's stop looking at oh man, the catches and the
yards and the touchdowns, and you gotta look at the
drama all day every day. I know he works hard,
but he cannot make the right decision consistently. He can't.
You have to proceed without that guy. Don't even think
(01:03:30):
about it on your team. He has one pox mark
that's really gonna be hurting. And that's the fact that
he couldn't stay in New England. Now Chad Johnson was
a bit of a kook. I loved him to death,
but he was kind of a funny kock. Not a
toxic coop, but he was like he beat to his
own drum. And he couldn't even make it in New England.
He had some problems with Bill Belichick, so Antonio Brown
(01:03:54):
was gone and he couldn't stay in New England. So
I think that people are gonna think twice, it's gonna
be tough. I'm not saying it's gonna be he's got talent,
it's gonna be real tougher to get back in the
league and real tough for someone to give him a shot,
and we'll see what happened. And the first time he
gets out of line, he's finished. And again we're just
assuming that Roger doesn't even get back in the league.
Like still, you're one of these teams that's like, hey,
(01:04:16):
you know, maybe maybe it'll work out, maybe it'll come in.
We'll be okay. Stop living in this world that doesn't exist.
Reality is he's gonna go haywire, which is what he
always does. It's not worth it to think about, oh,
hey man, maybe he's grown up, maybe he's matured. That's
just wishful thinking at its best. He's not gonna grow up,
(01:04:37):
he's not gonna mature, he's not gonna make the proper
decision consistently look at what it is instead of being
seduced by the talent and thinking, oh, maybe it'll be different,
it's not going to be. He's given us more than
enough indication. It's not going to be. What's the downside
for a club to bring him in? Seriously, like in July,
what's really to down See what happened in Oakland. He
(01:04:59):
didn't even get on the field and it was just drama,
trauma trumps. Look at the Patriots. He was there for
a week and then it's just drama, druma. I'm throwing
Craft under the bus, drama, drama, trauma. Why why have
you not been paying attention this last year? He's been
just drama. He's been way more harm than good. Why
(01:05:22):
would you be thinking, well, you know what, maybe he'll
just keep his mouth, shrug, be about his business and
catch touchdown passes it. No, that's not realistic at all.
Coming over to your side of the book, because I
do remember Oakland. I think he came in on a
hot air balloon, didn't he Yeah, you gotta be a
little low key. I mean, come on, like, you know,
push it back a little bit. You know, if it's
(01:05:43):
you know, in a vacuum and that's all it is,
I have no issue with it. That's fine. You can
have some flair and all that. It's just this dude,
he's just you sound like a parent, Andy, where it's like, hey,
don't make me, don't make me ground you for two
weeks and it's like, you know, you gotta be firm.
You have to be like, no, this is not happening,
(01:06:03):
and you have to be reasonable here. And if you
invite a b on your team, it's just a recipe
for Zach you makes sense. But we need to have
a little wager to see if he will come back,
and I think he will, but we'll see what happens.
Brian know, Andy Furman, Fox Sports Sunday. By the way,
I like to know what the public things do you
think if ab will come back on that? We could
do that on Twitter at the no show at Andy
(01:06:23):
Furman FSR or eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine nine six six ' three six nine.
And this will be his biggest bet that's next. But
first to Brian Famley for the latest. The Lakers doing
the bare minimum in beating the last place Warriors last night,
one twenty five to one twenty. Anthony Davis knows what
led to a closer than expected win. We're not that
(01:06:47):
good in transition, you know, getting back in transition. We
have to be better in that category. But you know,
we clean that up, then we'll be fine. And they
come down and off all turnovers once again, they're able
to get run to the line and all the guys
are run into a three point line and they're putting
the shots up and they went in. You know, which
force has to cost some time outs. But we had
to a better job getting back transition and knowing our personnel.
(01:07:09):
The Clippers defense vanishes in a one forty two to
one fifteen loss to the Timberwolves Minnesota, brushing off a
thirteen game losing streak. The Nuggets jacket the Nuggets jack
camer The Suns won seventeen to one oh eight. Jamal
Murray made fourteen of seventeen field goals. He had thirty
six points. The Raptors fourteen wins in a row. After
Shimmying passed the Nets one nineteen one eighteen, the Bucks
(01:07:32):
body Bag, the Magic one eleven ninety five, Milwaukee forty
forty five, and seven on the season to college basketball.
Number two Gone Zaga ramrodding Saint Mary's ninety to sixty,
the Zags shooting a season high sixty eight percent. Number
four San Diego State clowning air Force eighty nine to

number seven Duke heartbreaks North Carolina ninety eight to ninety

making up a thirteen point deficit with less than five
minutes left in regulation. We'll be back with Andy Furman
(01:08:17):
and Brian know in just a second, But first a
word from farmers. Bundel Homan Auto with Farmer's insurance, and
you could save an average of twenty percent. We know
a thing or two about how to save a bucker.
Two Call one eight hundred Farmers to get a quote today.
We are farmers twenty eighteenage white receivings enter in my
firmer st refer insurance exchangees in AFHI. It's probably not
availble in every state. Andy, Dad, there was one chore
(01:08:37):
I know you told me you wanted me to do
yesterday at the garbage. Well, yes, and you wanted me
to do it in my underwear. So I know it's
cold out there, but I'll do it if you need
me to. Yes, stop just said it mentioned North Carolina
and Duke and you don't have to take the trash out. Okay,
just there you go. Wow, all right, by the way,
we'll see it. And now if the dun they have
(01:08:58):
a crack, we'll see about that. And just about a minute,
we've crossed the fifty oddline. And what'll we call Fox
Sports Sunday. He's Brian Noah, Mandy Forman and welcome back,
Welcome back, everybody to the Fox Sports radio studios. We're
brought to you by Geico. It's easy to save fifteen
percent of more on car insurance with Gico. Got a
Gyico dot Com. I'll call eight hundred nine four seven auto.
The only hard part figuring out which way is easy,
and of course bottom barrel betting in less than ten minutes.
(01:09:20):
And I do believe I think last well, two weeks ago,
I was a perfect five. And oh, I believe I
listened to you referring to two weeks ago. You're right,
we don't know what I did last week yet, because
we'll find that out here momentarily. But I think I
have a tattoo on my arm about the five, and
oh with the date. Okay you think so? Huh? Yeah,
I gotta find it somewhere. I forgot maybe's on my back. Anyway,
(01:09:42):
this is right up your rally. The saga continues, and
this might be as big as bet yet p Rose
using the astro situation for your name. No, are you
really You're gonna go from ab to Pete Rose? Is
where we're going here, huh? Because I just want to
mention one thing and then we can move on to something. Okay,
all right, And he claims that look, baseball may have
(01:10:04):
two separate releases. Attorneys claim that one for Pete one
for everybody else. I get it. There's a sign in
every locker room in Major League Baseball you can't bet
if you are you're suspended. I get that, but steroid
uses cheating players. A Rod was suspended for a year,
right was he suspended for just about a year, and
now he's back doing the games on TV. It's amazing really,
(01:10:25):
So Pete Rose, to me, was basically used as somewhat
of a guinea pig because they wanted a big name
to kind of show people that we're tough. You want
to bet you, we're tough. And he did it as
a manager, not as a player. He could do games.
You have Pete Rose on the he was on Fox,
he did there. Could he not do games? I think
he could, right? Could he be a color commentator? I
(01:10:47):
don't know if there's any red tape. I don't think
you can get paid by the ball club. See the
ball club usually pays that. Look, man, you said it
best and Andy I put it like this, with especially
with betting becoming a bigger and bigger thing. Now, yeah,
it's better for baseball to have Pete Rose as the
poster child for this is what happens if you bet
while playing or managing, right like, you're shunned, you're out,
(01:11:11):
you can't do it. It's better for baseball to have
him as the example of you can't bet, instead of
just welcoming him in, like yeah, you know you're right
this Astros deal. We slapped him on the wrist, and
but you're shunned forever. That's not right, So come on back, pete.
It's better for baseball to just say no, you're done.
Hit it. It's better for baseball. So if it's better
(01:11:34):
for baseball, I think that's the better path to take. Okay,
what's best for your business. The guy is seventy eight
years old. No one is going to hire him as
a manager, as a front door of this kind of guy.
What he wants to do is just get off the
ineligible list so he could be voted into the Hall
of Fame where he belongs. That's all they wanted to do.
He's not going to get involved in baseball on a
(01:11:54):
day to day basis. No one's hiring him. He's a
piranha as far as baseball exactly. It's a concern. But
if you get him on, get him off that ineligible list,
the Baseball Runners of America could vote him into Cooperstown
and it'll be gone and you won't hear about it anymore.
He'll be in the Hall of Fame where he belongs. Yeah,
I say no, tough. Do you deal with Pete? It's
(01:12:15):
better for baseball to say no, you're banned for life.
We didn't say banned for a couple of decades for life?
Baby hit it. You can't bet on baseball, And it's
better for baseball to have him as the example of
what happens if you do bet on baseball. Do you
bet that he belongs in the Hall of Fame for
his accomplishment? Of course, it's like he had an amazing career.
(01:12:38):
Of course he belongs in the Hall of Fame. He
is a Hall of Famer. But again, it goes back
to it's better for baseball to make an example out
of him. If you can tell me no, it's in
baseball's best interest. They would actually benefit more by welcoming
him back in when he bet on baseball and knowing
that that sports gambling is just it's on fire now
(01:13:00):
and it's everywhere. Why would you want that? How is
that better for Major League Baseball to welcome him? Right?
But I will say this, I think that he makes
an interesting case stays attorneys do because he does. You're
not answering the question it's not about his interesting case.
Is it better for baseball to welcome him back? But
the point is that you're not hearing what I'm saying,
basically asking you a question, is it better? But you're
(01:13:21):
role on that fact because baseball is not welcoming but
they're just getting him off the an eligible list. He did,
he's not coming back to Where are you that hard
question to answer? Andy? Is it better for baseball to
welcome him back? They're not. Baseball will not welcome him back.
It's just getting off an ineligible list. Welcoming back. You're
making it sound like, okay, whatever, don't worry about the
(01:13:44):
how I'm phrasing the question for him. He's banned from
baseball right now? Yes, your life. Is it better for
baseball to say, all right, that's the thing in the past,
no longer. It's it better for them to do that?
I always say yes, And I'll tell you why. How.
Number one, I think thirty years is a long time
to pay. It's thirty years number one. Number two, he's
(01:14:04):
got President Trump now tweeting about this, which is great.
And look, if they didn't have the situation with steroid uses,
which is cheating, if they didn't have the situation with
the Houston Astros, which is cheating and changing the outcome
of a game, which he never did. I would say, yeah,
he's banned, there's a rule, get him out, that's it.
And I'm a big Pete Rose fan. But now I
(01:14:26):
think the door has opened somewhat because of all these
other creeps that have done these things, and I think
he's got a shot. And again I'll say he's not
going to come back and work in baseball. He's not
going to come back and play in baseball. No one's
going to hire him in the front off his position.
But get him off the ineligible list so he could
be voted at the Cooperstown where he belongs. He's making
more money this way than if he wasn't banned for life.
(01:14:48):
I got news for you, Like all these autographs he's signing,
and he's made a name for himself. He's a bigger
star being banned from baseball, absolutely, And the conversation as
see right, and a conversation in terms of stardom, it
helped him in terms of stardom to be banned. So
to make it sound like this poor guy, he's down
(01:15:09):
and out, and man, he we're not saying that. It's
not a question of being poor, rich or anything else.
I think is what's right in this point in time
with the Astros thing, I think it opens the door
a little bit. I think there's a conversation on the table,
but I don't think Manfred's gonna do anything. But he's
a hard ass. It's just it's not better for baseball
bottom line, with sports wagering being a bigger thing. I
(01:15:32):
don't know why you would want to send the message
to all your current players, all your current managers, everybody
involved in baseball like yeah, you know what, welcome back Pete.
You're just basically saying, hey, you know, just have your
parlay card in before the game starts. Like what, why?
Why would you? It's better to have him as the
(01:15:52):
poster child of this is why you don't They might
as well have a picture of Pete Rose instead of
the the posters in locker rooms of not you can't
bet right and betting is not allowed. You might as
well just have Pete Rose with a big circle in
a slash like you can't bet. This is what happens. Well,
I need to have that example and to put a
bow on this entire situation. It goes right back to
(01:16:12):
what you said about Antonio Brown. Both these gentlemen have
something in common. They're both their worst enemies. They're their
worst enemy. They created the problem that that hurt them
in their careers. Sure well post career anyway, hands across
America for both and more so Pete Rose Or the
test is unjust enough. By bye bye bye, stop it.
(01:16:33):
It's better for your business to make an example out
of them. We move on. I don't want to see
what have but honestly, we'll see what have. I mean,
I don't think Memphid's gonna do anything. I don't think
they're gonna budget, but you know what, stranger things have happened.
They got to take care of what's going on with
the astros. Anyway, well, we'll see Brian no Andy Firman.
Every Sunday we call the Fox Sports Sunday right here
on Fox Sports Radio. It's really the game that's sweeping
(01:16:54):
the nation. Soon to have a whole version. Yes, it's
Bona Barrew betting. It's all yours. Next, you're listening to
Fox Sports Radio Radio, Bo and Barrel Benny coming right up,
by the way, it's about eleven minutes before, at the
top of the hour, there's is Fox Sports soun that
he's Brian no On, Andy Farman. We got a game
to play. Let's go. It's bottom money to sleep. People,
(01:17:19):
get my money. I'll put your brain to sleep. Betty
here is coming right at you know one and only Vine.
What's up, guys? Good morning to you. How are we
doing this? Fin? Are you the president of the DC
Defenders fan Club? Just yet? Not yet? Not yet? Because
I don't look good in red. Can't hold Nationals? Guy?
(01:17:40):
If I get that in all of my national stuff
is blue. If I get good and red, what is
it about you? Not looking good in red is like
the bleed. I just like I believe terrible in red.
The one red shirt I've ever owned, I just look
awful in it. Friends tell you this. The girls are
like Vinnick, like red is not your color. Do you
get feedback from other people? My wife has told. My
(01:18:01):
wife told me a couple of times. I can do
it as like an accent. So I have a National's
hat that's like a heather gray that's got a red
bill that looks all right. So you don't wear red lipstick? No, No,
I usually go with neutral tones. There you go, and
then I also like to go with purple eyeshadow. There,
don't go nice. I'll tell you right if I get
(01:18:22):
that red defend this hoodie, I'm gonna send it to you.
It's just a thrill. It's just a catch. That's what
it's in with me. Like you know, Matt Campbell sent
me a hoodie from Iowa State. I sent it to
Iowa Sam. That's what you know, that's what I do. Yeah,
because he's a huge Cyclones fan. That was awesome of you.
And I didn't get University of Iowough. You know you
(01:18:43):
got it. You gotta reach out to them. That's what
he wants. That's next year. Okay, all right, let's get
to it. So last week's results, we've got Andy, you're
gonna be happy with this. Six and three? Wow? So
you didn't combined Yes, games that didn't matter at all,
eleven three, the bottom barrel betting ones and our prop bets.
(01:19:05):
Super Bowl Also, yeah, so Brian, you had the better
percentage because you sat out one pick. I wasn't gonna
chalk that up as a loss. He went six and two.
Beautiful in your face, Furman, take that but but you didn't.
You didn't do it. I mean, you didn't play the
thing you do set out, he abstained. That's not a
loss based on principle. I set out one question better
(01:19:26):
winning percentage. It was strategy. Oh stop, okay, so are
you allowed to sit out? Now? I'm gonna sit out.
Maybe maybe I'll sit out this that only applies to me.
I mean I need a I need a good reason
for sitting out. Now. If you sit out, Andy on,
make no picks, I'm gonna have to give you for five.
There you go. See that's how that works, Sandy. Oh,
slanted rules. I like it. Yeah, that's how bottom barrel
(01:19:47):
of betting works. Yep, all right, let's get to it.
Guys are in cahoots. Yep, yep, all right. First game up,
We're going to XFL Tampa Bay Vipers minus four at
the New York Guardians. Who you got? I got the Guardians?
Are you kidding me? Of course? The Guardians are tough.
I love Right now, we're just guessing. We couldn't name
(01:20:09):
one player on either team, and we're just these hardline stances.
Lewis Perez Guardians. What's up with the guess they're out?
Of their mind. I'll take the Vipers minus four, Louis
Perez from Texas A and M. Come on, he's a
quarterback for the Guardians. Okay, all right, I'm sure you
know the resume by heart of that guy. I'm gonna
take the Vipers. I'll lay the points. And they got
(01:20:29):
the coach too, Kevin Gilbride, all right, you gotta plow
through these next four real quickly. You can't bet on
coaches that got sucker punched in the NFL thing. That's
a bad way to go. All right, Next game up,
Saint Louis BattleHawks at the Dallas Renegades. Renegades minus nine.
What do you guys think? Go ahead, I'm laying the nine, baby,
give me the Renegades. You know what I'm gonna I'm
(01:20:53):
gonna go with the battle To tell you why I
love Jonathan Hayes because he used to be with the
Bengals and he's the head coach. So I'm going with
Saint Louis. That loyalty it's gonna burn you. Well. I'm
a loyal guy. I'd rather be a loser and loyal.
How's that? Okay? All right, rapid fire here. Bradley beal
over under twenty eight and a half points against the
Grizzlies over. Wow, that's a lot of points. I'll take
(01:21:17):
the under. Grizz been playing better basketball lately, all right.
Louri market in rebounds against the seventy six ers over
under five and a half. That is a it's a
great way. Welcome to the bottom barrel betting, LORII Marketing.
I'll take the over on that. That's not a lot
of rebounds. I'll take an under, all right. And last one,
(01:21:38):
Darius Garland assists against the Clippers over under three and
a half. Oh, you gotta take the over on this one.
Clips just got blown out last night against the Timberwolves.
It is I don't taken the under on that too. Well,
all right, we're just you got the opost you too
the over? Huh yeah, So we're five disagreements. Nice, we
(01:21:58):
make it nice. All right, we'll do this. That's very good.
What you don't believe him? Do you? We'll tell you
why with Brian know and Andy Furman right here on
Fox Sports Sunday. Next you're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
What a roster. We'll get to that in just about
a minute. But right now, it's time to say wake
up America. K Wow, there we go. That's something different,
(01:22:24):
but we'll move on. He's Brian no On, Andy Furman.
We call this Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio,
and of course we want to say coming to you
live from the Fox Sports Radio studios, brought to you
by Geico. Fifteen minutes can save you fifteen percent of
more of car insurance Physicgico dot com for a free rate.
Quote now, without further ado, My partner, my friend, the
man who is the brains of this outphab Yes, he
(01:22:46):
is the hardest working man in show business today, the one,
the only, the hour of power Man in the Power Hour.
Brian no Hello, b listening to and that's a good drop.
I like that right there. Good to be with you here,
Andy Herriman. As always, Baby, I'm looking forward to the
final hour of the show today. I look forward to
all the hours. But I think we're really gonna bring it.
(01:23:07):
We're gonna bring the zest. We're gonna bring it right now.
We're gonna bring it right here and now, yeah you're
finish it strong, yea, the home stretch at the quarter pole.
Right now, we're gonna bring it home. By the way,
did you see the roster of Team Lebron James for
the NBA All Star Game? Yes? Really better than Team Jannis.
I mean, how did that happen? I mean stupid, he's
(01:23:29):
bad at picking. But I'm gonna go in a different
direction on you, Andy Furman. I think that you gotta
go snake order in these drafts because Lebron gets the
first pick of each round. How did he manage to
do the starters? How did he manage to How does
that happen? It's a bad format. It's a bad format.
(01:23:50):
It's got to change, right Like Fantasy football draft, it
snakes around. I listen to the Ben Maller Show sometimes
I go to the gym late at night and when
he's doing his NBA pick them or NHL pick him
or snake order, you know, snake order draft. That's what
you gotta do for the All Star Game as well.
(01:24:11):
Team Jannis got hosed because you got the second pick
in every round naming the starters, and then they flip
flopped it. Do you notice this for the reserves, Giannis
got the first pick every round. I'd rather rather have
the first pick every round naming the starters. Then the
first pick. You think it was intentionally to have Team
Lebron win. Is that why they did that? I think
(01:24:34):
Giannis is really bad Viking. I mean he got some
bad I mean, look look over Doncic, you can't do that.
That's a terrible pick. I mean Team Lebron. I mean
it's Steph. You know, he's gonna take his teammate because
he and Anthony Davis is gonna have some good chemistry going.
That was his first pick. Goes Kawhi Lent a day
after that, then Luca James Harden Lillard, your guy from Portland,
(01:24:56):
I mean, and then the bench, he's got Simmons, Uh,
who's go, Chris Paul's on the bench, Russell Westbrook on
the bench, which is there? Yeah, he's got a better team,
he sure does, you know. And I tell you it's
funny because I've been to one NBA All Star Game
and at the time when I went, they actually played
it was it was not an exhibition. They played hard.
They would dive into the stands for a loose ball.
(01:25:17):
I think, now it's just an't score two hundred points.
Well I can't do it now. They changed the rule,
but I mean still in all. I get it. It's
an exhibition, always gonna bust their rear end, but put
a little effeted to it. I mean, please, yeah, I mean, hey, listen, uh,
I agree with you. I wish the effort would be better,
but it's changed. It's a different day and age. Unfortunately,
(01:25:40):
we're not going to get teams going all out. It's
similar to the MLB All Star Game. That game you
know this, Andy, it really meant something they have, like
like it was a playoff game, they'd have impassioned speeches
for managers, the whole thing. They're going out trying to win. Well,
back in the day, whatever, it's fun. It's we're just
goofing around. It's an exibit. Yeah. If you remember back
(01:26:01):
in the day when they did have that competition, the
National League had their own president and the American League
had their own president and they will go down to
the locker room prior to the game. You gotta win
it for our league. Now there's one commissioner over both.
That wasn't a big deal when they had presidents of
each league. It wasn't too bad at that time. Yeah, well,
hey man, it's a different day and age, so it's
more of just a goof around. But Jannis admittedly bad
(01:26:26):
at picking, He's very bad at it. Yes, but you
should get snake order. I went the snake order in
the NBA All Star Game next year because that's the
proper way to conduct a draft. If it's just two
people picking teams, it should go stake order. And I
will tell you the other thing. I mean, if I
had a choice to go to the Major League Baseball
All Star Game with the NBA All Star Game, I'm
at the NBA All Star Game. I just think there's
(01:26:47):
more pomp and circumstance. I think it's more show business.
There's more pizaz, you know what. One of the things
that really makes the NBA. And I get it, the
NBA is taking a detour this year. The other day
that I think they had a game there was like
sixty six field goals at like forty two or the
sixty six with three pointers. I can't stand it. You know,
play the game, but that's just the way the game
is evolved, and that's the way it is, and it'll
(01:27:08):
change maybe down the road. But the point is that
the NBA has to possess and what makes it head
and shoulders over Baseball is not the game itself, not
that because baseball is slower than the NBA. I'll tell
you what it is. It's the stars that sit in
the stands. People want to be part of that. You
go to an NBA game, you know who you're gonna
see sitting in the stands. That's basically what it's all about.
You show me one baseball game that's on TV. You
(01:27:30):
know what. I remember? I watched a World Series game
and had the Dodgers. I had the camera on Larry
King behind home plate. I mean, come on, he looked
like a breakfast at Bernie's. That movie whatever it's called,
was that movie? Would man, you are on a rant here, Andy,
Where are we going on? Well, baseball doesn't have the
stars that go to the games. What was the last
(01:27:51):
time you watched the baseball game on TV and saw
some sort of a star at a game. Oh, there's
plenty the Dodgers games, there's plenty Larry King, come on,
wheel them in. There are other stars that go to games.
I remember with the Astros in the World Series a
couple of years ago when it was Russell Westbrook and
James Harden behind home plate. So you get some celebs.
(01:28:14):
I know those are in the sports world. Those are names.
But we'll get some celebrities at those games. And you're crazy,
but there are more. There are more celebs at NBA games.
But how about this? How about this? You think about
the NBA All Star weekend that's about to unfold here
and Damian Lillard. He's also a rapper. He's going to
be performing musically, I think on Saturday evening. How about this?
(01:28:35):
What if because he's had some of these dis tracks,
remember with Marvin Bagley, what if he has a distrack
against NBA officiating. That's the way he opens it up.
That's the way he might be done. He might That
would be wonderful. That will be great. That'll be bigger
than the game itself. That'll be huge. I'd love to
see that. I think that would be hilarious. Of course
(01:28:56):
he's not gonna do it, but how great would that? Oh? Wait,
quick question? If they home this week at Old Portland,
They've got to be home for at least one game. Okay,
you need to go and talk to him about that.
You need to get into the locker room and talk
to him about that. Can you do that? Can you
go to that game. You want me to go into
the locker room and talk to Dame about the officiating
from the Jazz game? No, I have to sing about
(01:29:18):
a Saturday night. Oh oh, you want me to plant
the idea? Yes, yes, you gotta go. Yeah, you know
they play tonight actually the heat. You know what if
you don't want to do that, you want me to
write you or note an email to you. You could
print it out and give it him in an envelope,
say this is for you. I think he would be like,
I like the idea, but I also like my money,
(01:29:39):
So I'm going to take a pass on that one.
I don't know. You think he'd be fined on that.
I don't think so. He'd have to be kidding me. Yeah,
but he'd By the way, I think this is interesting though, Andy,
he will not be fined for all of his postgame
comments about the officiating from the Jazz game on Friday night. Right,
And that's like normally you get if you're questioning the coat. Yeah,
(01:30:02):
and he's not going to get fined for that. Yeah.
That's like. The Houston Nationals will be playing next year.
They should do you know what they should do? They
should ban the team for a year. The team should
be thrown out of baseball for a year. That's what
they should do. Yeah. Really, well, you know you you
enjoy cheating. You want to have cheated his play? Come on, really,
I think I rid of the manager and the general manager.
But the crooks who basically did the deed, basically are
(01:30:23):
playing that absolutely should be punished. I agree with you.
I completely agree with that. There take the world serious,
share away, take the ring away, don't let him play.
I don't know, it's crazy. I'm not a fan of
rewriting history though. I think that's silly. It happened, they won,
they cheated, they benefited from it. I understand the argument
of what on the other side, but it's just like
the NC Double A. I don't want to pretend like
(01:30:45):
the Fab five didn't make it to the Final four
because Chris Weber was getting paid. Right, it happened. I
watched it. Okay, I'm not a fan of re writing history.
The NC double A does it all the time. I'm
not a fan of MLB or anybody else doing it. Yeah,
the anti DOUBLEA makes it like the team never existed.
They did that with Louis or the twenty thirteen with
(01:31:06):
their championship. You can't do that. They want it. They
want a far and square, they want to not far
and square, but they want on the court's far and square. Yeah,
but they did win it, and you just can't take
it away. Put an asterisk if you went next to it.
But they want it. Can't take it away, you know.
And speaking the take it away, I want to touch
on this because this has been a craw in me
and I like the you're great because you're like my
sounding board and you'll snock me around if you don't agree,
(01:31:28):
which I love. Okay, thirteen season as a coach, three
Big ten titles, went to a rose ball college football playoff,
and more wins than any coach in school history. He
woke away this week. That's sixty three year old Michigan
State football coach Mark D'Antonio and the media to me,
maybe I'm wrong. You'll tell me. The media doesn't get it.
He was canned, he was fired, he's fighting a lawsuit
(01:31:49):
sexual assault charges against his recruits, and his latest lawsuit
by a former Michigan State recruiting director alleging that D'Antonio
committed anti DOUBLEA violations, and he came in his news
conference and he said, well, I've had my time. I'm finished,
I'm tired. No, nobody walks away from a job that
pays three to four million dollars a year and the
success that he had. It's the problems that are kind
(01:32:12):
of circulating and percolating around him, and he was asked
to leave. And couple that with a four and five
conference record last year. Right, Well, the timing, it's really
hard to believe. It's purely a coincidence, thank you, that
he just wants to spend time with his family at home. Right,
and as a coach against him timing, But yeah, you
(01:32:34):
always say it, Andy, One of your main sayings is
talent Trump's trouble. I know I connect that with you
because you say it often, and it's very true. Where
if you look at the trouble of the program and
a lot of allegations with misdeeds by the football players
and all of that, it's one thing the universities might
(01:32:56):
look the other way and might talk themselves into well
these are allegations. Well we really don't know, Well, does
Mark D'Antonio Does he deserve to be fired for this?
If you're winning a bunch of games. But if you're
losing games left and right, which he was doing this
past season, all of a sudden, that talent meaning production
isn't trumping the trouble and now you could be on
(01:33:19):
death row in terms of getting a pink slip. That's
and that's why I also mentioned Roy Williams could be
on that treading in that situation too. No, it could
be it's one bad season. Andy. It's not like he's
had a bunch of bad years in a row. Well,
d'antonia's never really had a bunch of bad seasons in
Michigan State. He's never had the success Roy Williams's right,
I get that, But you know, to me, the media
(01:33:43):
not even like went to it. It's almost similar to
the Kobe Bryant thing. I mean, Kobe Bryant loved, but
no one wants to touch on what happened and what
two thousand and three was it. I guess I think
wants to touch on it. There are plenty of people
liking up, hold on, hold on the life of times
of Kobe. What about Eagle Colorado. There's a lot of
(01:34:06):
people saying that as it got crazy the other day. Look,
I'm not saying you got to bring it up. But
it's part of his it's part of his Resumetely, people
don't want to talk about that. I just people are
afraid of the backlash what may happen. Media people as well.
For example, I read a story the other day in
USA Today. Mitch Album a tremendous writer. All Right, he
(01:34:29):
writes for the Detroit Free Press. You know the headline
of the story, which I know he didn't write the headline,
D'Antonio retires with a heavy green heart. I mean, come on,
I mean, it's it amazes me. Can you just like
touch on the fact that you think maybe he walked
away because there was some problems, maybe the university said
get out. Maybe. I mean, you would think that the
(01:34:51):
guy walked on water. What is the big deal to
write about what's happened under someone's watch. It happens all
the time. I understand why you would connect him, But
I think that D'Antonio thing is much different. It's not
like he died a tragic death like Kobe did. I
can understand how. Yes, that's part of his story, that's
(01:35:13):
part of his resume. But they were allegations. It wasn't
proven to be true, and there are a lot of
people that go the other way and they're acting is
if it was true, it's factual. It happened, no doubt
about it, And that's a complete leap. So with D'Antonio,
it's not like he died a tragic death, right, he
just left Michigan State. And if you want to write
(01:35:36):
that column of hey, could it have something to do
with all these allegations about sexual misdeeds from multiple football
players in that program? Yeah, I think you write that.
I don't think that's irresponsible at all. I think that
much easier to write than the Kobe thing is. Let
me go back to the Kobe thing for a second.
Didn't Gail King on CBS get some heat because she
did mentioned the fat Why Why would she get heat
(01:35:59):
for introducing the truth? I don't understand that. Explain that
to me. Why would get because you have to listen
to the whole interview. She asked the question to Lisa Leslie, right,
and Lisa Leslie answered it, and then she pushed back.
She was like, well, you wouldn't know, and it's like, wait,
hold on a minute, who are you to say this?
And it's just like she didn't like Lisa Leslie's answer.
(01:36:22):
Her first question's fine where she's just like, hey, what's
the deal here is? Is it tough to bring up
the Eagle Colorado thing with Kobe based on the timing
of his death. I think that's fair. I don't have
an issue with that. It was just her pushing back.
She didn't like Lisa Leslie's answer, and she pushed back.
(01:36:42):
That was the issue. I don't think the question itself
was irresponsible. CBS got their shorts and a bundle over
there on that one they did. I don't know why.
I mean, I just don't know why. I think, but
I think, but why would CBS do it? I mean,
why would they get upset? I think Gail King's a
pretty good journalist, I really do. And that's her job.
She was doing a job. That's all. Asking a question,
it's fine, but like dismissing or pushing back because she
(01:37:06):
didn't get the answer she wanted. It was like who
are you? How do you know what happened? Either like
what is that? Yeah? So that was the part that
raised people's eyebrows, no doubt. You know, Look, it's a
different era, it's a different media today, and I think
that people have to be careful in the media as
to what they say on various people, really, because it
(01:37:29):
could be interpreted in a various in various different manners,
and you could get some heat for it, you know,
even though it may be the truth. Don't you agree
to that. I mean, you're careful now. I'm a lot
more careful now than I was years ago. The things
have changed. Yeah, I mean, sure, you gotta be careful,
but at the same time you have to be fearless.
That also, and we should sit here and give these
(01:37:52):
cookie cutter takes and oh man, the angry mob might
come after me. And no, you got to speak your
mind and let the chips fall where they may. But
as long as you're responsible, you can't worry about people.
They're gonna get outraged about anything I got brushed back about. Hey, Brian,
that makes sense about Pete Rose. You want him gone.
(01:38:13):
But the Astros and the Red Sox and they aren't
banned for baseball. What fine. Of course we're gonna have
a conversation about those things. So I'm not gonna dumb
it down and be like, hey man, some people might
disagree with me over here. No, you gotta cut it loose,
and there are a lot of people that aren't willing
to do that in this day. Exactly right, you're exactly
I want to hear people's comments on this, and you
could do that on Twitter at the No Show at
(01:38:35):
Andy Furman FSR or eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six, six three sixty nine,
nose picks at the end of this hour, and so
much more. But right now they knew what they were
doing all along. That's next. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
This makes it worse. We'll get to that in just
(01:38:56):
about a minute twenty two past the hour. This is
Fox Sports Sunday, Brian No Andy Furman live from the

you know and I didn't know this, My good friend
Mike North tweets me and tells me that today is
National Pizza Day. Do you know that his favorite mushrooms onions,
green pepper, Chicago thin or thick? Thank you, Michael, my
(01:39:19):
good friend Mike Not who I used to work with
here in the mornings on Fox Sports Radio. What a
disgusting choice for pizza though, good lord, that sounds horrible.
Do you sign off on that Andy. That sounds like
a terrible idea. I like any kind of pizza except
pizza with pineapple line. I never understood that the pineapple
and pizza. Why, I just I don't think it belongs
(01:39:42):
on pizza. I like, I like pepperoni. I do like onions, mushrooms,
green peppers, you know, But I could just take a
pizza with pepperoni. That's fine, that's perfect. That's how I
get down. Yeah, pepperoni. All right. If, by the way,

I want to comment. We're talking about Michigan State. When
Mark D'Antonio. Did you hear about tom Izzo the other day?
I know he yeah, about the tweets and all that. Yeah,
I mean, I mean, you know, sometimes I think coaches
just go overboard. He won, he lost to in a row,
(01:40:25):
and I think it was Tuesday night he lost too
in a row, and I know that they were sixteen
and seven at the time, but a lot of the
players on the team again some hate on Twitter and
social media. You know. I think sometimes when a coach
brings that out publicly, it gets worse, you know, because
because the idiots who high behind that, what they're gonna
do is, oh, he's reading it. They know about us,
(01:40:48):
let's go, we'll do more. Don't you think that's the
point there. Yeah, there's some truth to that. It's just yeah,
I get it. Look, it's one of these deals where
I understand where Tom is coming from. There are a
lot of coaches that feel the same way, and he's
making a legitimate point. Some of this stuff is way overboard.
(01:41:08):
Any player deals with stuff that's way overboard, right, right,
So he's got a point, But when he addresses it
that way, it just sounds lame. It's like, oh, guys,
kid take it and this isn't fair. That's how it sounds,
even though that isn't the truth, right, that's the way
it comes across, right, Yeah, it certainly does. I mean,
they lost the Penn State the other day, and at
(01:41:30):
the news conference, he's not going to tell you guys
something in the media. I mean, this is at the
bottom of my heart is if there's any Michigan State
people out there that are abusing some of my players
on that freaking Twitter. I'm sick of it. I'm sick
of it. You know, I don't know. You could if
you could be abused. If you don't like it, turn
off the account. Absolutely block on Twitter. Goodness their death
threats galore. That's abuse. So absolutely you can be abused
(01:41:54):
on Twitter. That's basically what Twitter is, right, I think
if you look up Twitter, actually the definition is a
abuse mostly what Twitter is. But yeah, of course you
can be abused there. But the way he addressed it,
it just sounds like his guys can't take negativity. It
makes them sound soft, even though he's got a point,
the way he addressed it, it sounds completely soft. It
(01:42:18):
really does. I mean, you know, well, we better off
without it. I don't know, I really don't know. I mean,
because people get these what I call beer muscles. They
get on there like Facebook and Twitter when they're kind
of like somewhat inebriated and just say things that they
would never ever have the unis or hanging downs to
do to someone in person. They really wouldn't. They just wouldn't. Yeah,
(01:42:40):
there's a lot of that going on. Sure, it's bathroom graffiti,
that's really what mostly is. But there's some stuff that's
really cool about it. It's just the knuckleheads that you
gotta deal with and navigate around. But the other parts
of it, some of it's hilarious. On Twitter. There's some
real witty stuff in the sports world, jokes that are made,
(01:43:02):
and outside of it, some stuff is really well done,
well written, it's funny, it's content. I think that's the
other usage for us in what we do. Twitter is
a gold mind. Like think about Damian Lillard. I thought
this was funny. The bad call on Friday night. Yeah,
someone tweeted him because he was criticizing the officiating and
he goes the Twitter guy goes, bro, you're finna get
(01:43:26):
fined big, and Damian Lillard responded plenty money. What they
go back and forth, Richard Sherman going back into Durrell revis.
That's great, it's fun for what we do, but it's
just the knuckleheads that go way over the top with
that threats and negativity. Yeah, it stinks at times. It's
crazy it's scary that there are people out there that
(01:43:47):
feel that way, and the one that did they feel
that way prior to social media? Did they have Absolutely?
They did their knuckleheads way before social media. So now
they have a chance to express their knuckleheadness. Yes, if
you will, Yes, absolutely. It's not as if everything was
pristine before social media. And then it's like, hey, man,
now I can rage. They've always been crazy. Yeah, you're
(01:44:11):
right about that. I tell you. It's funny to go
on from one extreme to the other, from knuckleheads and
craziness to an intern and an organization who basically is
a somewhat of a genius in my mind. Talk about
the Houston Astros. They got this program called Codebreaker right now.
It was introduced to the team by an intern in
the organization back in twenty sixteen. This was according to
(01:44:32):
the Wall Street Journal. I read it Friday. I was
shocked to eat this story. According to the Wall Street Journal,
the Excel based application designed to decode opposing catcher signs
was used throughout the twenty seventeen season and for part
of twenty eighteen by the baseball operations employees and the
video room staffers and the general manager Jeff Lounow, who
(01:44:53):
was fired. He said he knew about it, but he
felt get this. He thought it would be used to
legally decipher signs previous games. Please, I'm not that stupid.
I was born at night, but not last night, Jeff.
Please come on. He knew about it, man, it's yeah.
I thought the sit down interview that aj Hinch did
the former Astros manager, one part he was talking about
(01:45:17):
hearing the banging of the trash cans and he goes, yeah,
first I was processing it, like what is that? And
then he figured it out and he said, I should
have put an end to it. But the point is
this was an organizational thing right there. All the organization
was pushing this whole deal with sign stealing, and aj
(01:45:41):
Hinch he had the power to put an end to it,
and he should. He's paying the price now GM, same thing,
the powers that be, same thing. It was such an
organizational thing. Andy, I'm with you. The players gotta get
They got to take some sort of punishment. The whole
vibe if your approach is major League Baseball is all right,
you get immunity. Just tell us what happened. You're horrible
(01:46:03):
about getting answers. If that's the only way you can
get answers, it's the promise immunity. Come on, the criminals
have to get punished as well, not just the masterminds
that put the whole thing together. Right Like, if you
mastermind a bank robbery and I'm the one who robs
the bank and we get busted, it shouldn't just be
you that pays the price. It should be right Also, exactly,
(01:46:23):
if I'm driving the getaway card, I'm gonna be just
just much hot, orders you right, You know, I don't
want to meet this kid who was the intern who
did the app. This kid's are freaking genius. And by
the way, I found out that he still works in
the baseball department of the Astros. He still works there.
But it's not his fault, right, I mean, he just
created it. He didn't know what they were gonna do
with it. I guess, yeah. I mean, of course it's
(01:46:45):
signs stealing. He thought it was on the up and up.
How could it be used for something that's illegal? Of course?
Right there, right there, you go, exactly right. I love it,
Brian No, Andy Furman, this is Fox Sports Sunday price hikes.

(01:49:41):
to apologize to Truck of Joe because we had a
tweet from Truck and Joe way back when and I
didn't read it. And that's bad. That's a bad thing
for me. You should smack me. You should a Truck
of Joe hereby I would you just get a backhand
right to the nose. I know truck it and I
have a pretty big nose you can't miss. But by
the way, truck of Joe. Oh, I hope you're still
(01:50:01):
there because I apologizing. This is what he said on Twitter.
I said a while ago that AB eighty four Antonio
Brown should go play in the XFL, would be, without
a doubt, the best player of the league, face of
the league, and get the XFL some credibility. It's actually
worth considering number one. He wouldn't go there. Eight and
don't one him B. I don't think he'd want to
go there for the money they pay, So I think
(01:50:21):
that's it. How does it help him get into the
NFL by just wrecking shop in the XFL? Right, that
the best thing for him to do is go away
by himself and don't tell anybody like your witness protection.
That's what he needs, go away for it better for
him to just behave right, Just behave right. He's still
talented enough if he just doesn't do anything stupid. Until
(01:50:43):
the NFL season rolls around, there's gonna be some team
that said, man, we're a little thin wide receiver wise here. Hey,
we haven't heard anything from AB. He's actually behaved for
about half a year. Let's take a shot on him
that that thought will cross somebody's brain if he behaves
and if everything assuming it it shakes out with the
(01:51:05):
ongoing investigation with the allegations of sexual misdeeds, right, if
that checks out, Yeah, as long as he stays off
the misbehaving radar, there's gonna be some team that is
at least tempted to put him in a uniform. Do
you think there's ahead? Is there a Vegas line whether
he comes back or not? You think there should be.
(01:51:28):
I'd be surprised if there wasn't. There's got to be
some sports book out there that has that line. I'm
with you on that, you know, speaking of what NFL
and what's going on. The Cleveland Browns and we talked
about this back in I guess August, the most hype
team last year and perhaps maybe the most disappointing. They
finished third in the division behind the Ravens and Steelers.
They went six and ten. They have a bit of
the playoffs in seventeen freaking years, and they fired the coach,
(01:51:50):
Freddy Kitchens. Why am I bringing up the Cleveland Browns.
According to Cleveland's Fox Channel eight, ticket prices for nearly
forty percent of the seats inside First Energy Stadium. I'm
gonna see a price increase that to me is outrageous.
That's what I call hutsbah and I'm the voice of
those fans in the great state of Ohio, the Buckeye
State in Cleveland. How in that hell can you raise prices? Please? Please?
(01:52:15):
How can you do it? Why are you doing it?
That could be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Andy,
It's because they're gonna pay it. That's the simplest answer answer.
The're die hard fans. They will pay those rising prices,
and if you can line your pockets with more money,
it's the right business approach to take. I hate to
(01:52:38):
say that as a fan, but it's true. That's you
know that, Like, that's just business. One oh one. Hey,
we could raise prices and they're still gonna pay it.
What's the argument not to do it at that point? Wow?
This season is gonna be the third time the team
has raised ticket prices. Is a eight and that's a
year after they posted that last winning year. But the
(01:53:01):
team drop prices in parts of the stadium back in seventeen.
That's a year that the Brown suffered through a one
to fifteen year on the way to that one and
thirty one record when the coach jumped into the Ohio River.
Remember that? Yeah, I do remember that. That was unbelievable.
Did he jump in the Ohio? I think he jumped
in the High was I don't remember. Maybe I think
it was like year re actually hear yeah here at Diego. Yes, see,
(01:53:24):
that's what I have to do. By the way, I
don't know if you know about my buck with Eddie Garcia. Yeah,
well here's what the bet is. Andy. I was filling
in for Big Ben over a year ago, yes, and
I was just saying, hey, listen, I know that the
Browns stink to the high heavens right now, but they're
going to be a playoff team over the next five years.
(01:53:44):
And Eddie Garcia got on, He's like, you're crazy, year
out of your mind, You're dumb. What are you talking about?
And so we made a bet and I said, all right,
if the Browns don't make the playoffs over the next
five years. Of course they didn't make it last year,
four more years left on this bet. If they don't
make it, I'll jump into Lake Erie just like Hugh Jackson.
Did you can pick the day of the year, you
(01:54:04):
can pick the coldest day of the year. I'll be
part of the Polar Bear club, right, So I have
to jump into Lake Erie or whatever body of water
at whatever date you deem. And if the Browns do
make the playoffs, Eddie Garcia across from the Fox Sports
radio studios in Sherman Oaks in the LA Area, He's
got to go across the street where the cheesecake factory is.
(01:54:28):
There's this giant fountain. Jump into that thing. If the
Browns make it here over a five year span, well
not four years left, Joe Brown's that doesn't sound you
gotta jump into the lake Erie, Yeah, Ohio whatever, you know,
a polluted body of water. He jumps into a little
fountain that goes up to his ancles. You're right, it's
not a fair trade off. But that's how confident I am.
(01:54:49):
The Browns have enough talent they're gonna do the playoffs.
You know, I want to I want to up that
bet because I you know, people walk into that fountain
every night after they get loaded. I mean, come on,
it's not that big of the deal. The water is
up to your ankles. You don't think it's what is
your sock? It's more so the shame of it all.
You know, I'll go to l A and just ridicule
(01:55:11):
Eddie Garcia. As you want into this fountain. You know
it's gonna be fun, it's gonna be a great time. Well,
let let's change and not just jump in. He's got
to get the entire body wet. Oh, absolutely he does. Right, Yeah,
we're talking the center of the fountain. You know he's
gonna the toe. He's a little bit. Yes, he's gonna
put his face in the water. I gotta hold his
(01:55:33):
head in little water for three seconds. Yeah, I'll hold
his head underwater, kind of like, uh, I don't know.
Point break, it's a dated reference. Is the first thing
that comes to mind point break? Where you know, uh gosh,
is it Val Kilmer? Is he the guy who's no, no, no,
who's the guy Vinne helped me out? It's the Patrick Swayzey.
(01:55:56):
When Patrick Swayzey is holding ke head under the That's
what I gotta do to Eddie Garcia. Front now on
fire because Eddie Garcia is a bit of a blowhard.
Yeah right, yeah, we want him to be humbled over
here exactly. If he wins this thing, he'll he'll start
handing out like T shirts. You know, I beat Brian
(01:56:16):
noa whatever, So we gotta, we gotta, you gotta. You're
a good shape. They'll make the playoffs. They will. I
don't care, Goodbye, good I think there's a better chance
they make it. Twice out of these notes, don't go
crazy to not make it a crazy Do you agree
with that? Do you agree with that? I do agree
with that because Steelers are going down. The Bengals are terrible,
So I did a good chance that could be that
second team in the division that will get into the playoffs. Yeah,
(01:56:40):
it shakes out, all right, go down, Eddie Garcia, you're
going down. Knows what he's doing over there, and you're
gonna get wet to the second version of Freddy Kitchens.
Hopefully Kevin Stans knows what's going I hope. So, I
don't care. Goodbye, Please do Brian know? Andy Furman Fox

(01:57:52):
here's the DA. Are you in desperate need of gambling insights?
Do not fear for Brian No is here and now
the time is come for nose picks. All right, Andy
Furman profitable super Bowl Week two and one. I told
you to take the under twenty six and a half
(01:58:13):
the number of the jersey of the player that scores
the first touchdown, and the Super Bowl it was Mahomes
number fifteen. Under hit baby all day. Of course, the
Niners had a rushing touchdown that was a layup with
Raheem Mostert. But I went against the grain. I took
the Niners to have more first downs than Casey that
didn't hit, but two and one. So winning week, right,
(01:58:35):
that's what we're looking for. Kilt's keep the momentum going here.
I'm looking at the Houston Rockets. They're minus four against
the Jazz today. Jazz haven't played good basketball lately. They
lost five straight. It took them charity on Friday night,
getting the goaltending call, no call to go their way, right,
So I don't think the Jazz they played the Rockets
(01:58:57):
playing small ball. I don't think that Rudy go Bear
makes them pay today. So I'm gonna lay the four
go with the Houston Rockets. I let that small ball
six six and under. Okay, all right, I like that.
All right, I'm gonna go with college basketball now. You
know I got a soft spot in my heart for
fair Field. I've taken them in those picks before, right, Yeah.
The stags you know the saying when you zig, you zack,
(01:59:20):
when everybody else zigs you zag. Yes, I'm gonna take
everybody else is zigging. I'm stagging. Okay, I'm Zach, I'm
going away from the Stags today. Give me Iona, Iona
right down plus two and a half. The Gales get
it done taking on the stag Stags today. What do
you think? Do I get approval there? You know what? Again?
Is symbol that loyalty. I like Iona because he's a kid.
(01:59:42):
One of my favorite New York Nigabocca's Richie Gerrin, went
to Iona, So tank Iona, All right, whatever it is,
as long as you're on my side, I'll take it.
And in the x FL, I'm looking at the total
today the New York Guardians, Yes, hosting the Tampa Bay Vipers. Yes,
the totals fifty three. I'm gonna take it partially because
(02:00:03):
Guardians it just sounds like the under is gonna hit.
I'm gonna be honest with you. But also they haven't
worked out the kinks with going for one, two or three,
so'll even points on the field. I'm gonna take the
under until they figure out how to score those extra
points a little bit better? Right to give me the
under fifty three in the Guardians game today and Louis
Pereza quarterback, they'll be fine. Okay, are you do you disagree?
(02:00:27):
You're saying over in that one. I'm with you. I
don't think they're gonna win, but they're not gonna go
over Okay, all right, so you're with me. That's good.
Here you go. Those are your three picks. Houston minus
four against the Jazz, give me Iona plus two and
a half against the Stags of fair Field, and I'm
taking the under in that Guardian's XFL game. It's your
time to go your own way. And before what do
(02:00:48):
you have for it? And I said, don't try to
sit home. Because a South Africa man who broke his
own Guinness World wrecked for staying in a barrel atop
a pole, finally returned to solid ground. They have to
sever of the eight days. The other day, Vernon Krueger
descended it from the eighty two foot pole in Dolstroum,
South Africa. After spending seventy eight days, twenty three hours
(02:01:09):
and fourteen minutes in a one hundred and thirty two
gallon barrel at the top of the pole, he was
airlifted from his perch by helicopter. How do you like that?
How long he was there for? Seventy eight days, seventy
eight days, twenty three hours, fourteen minutes days. I know. Wow, man,
hope he came down to go to the toilet. Man,
(02:01:30):
that's crazy what people will do for their fifteen seconds,
right or fifteen minutes of fame like that. That's a
heavy price to pay. All right, I'm going to take
you inside the world of college basketball because Bill Walton
he draws headlines right. Yes, And he was doing the
UCLA Arizona game last night with Dave pash Over on ESPN. Yes,
(02:01:52):
And he was talking about these names, the nicknames for
the XFL teams, and so he was doing sound to
facts for each of the team names. So I thought
it was pretty uh interesting. So I've got a few
of them to share with you this morning. Check this out.
The battle Hawks. Okay, there's that one. How good was that? Andy?
(02:02:14):
Was that pretty good for a battle Hawk? Left a
lot to be desired. Dragons breathing fired? Okay, there's one
more for you, Vipers, And of course he has an
ongoing Trojans joke here, the Trojans providing the protection I
guess whatever is gonna calm your way. Okay, Trojans, by
(02:02:35):
the way, but the guardians. Guardians are like Trojans. Okay,
and then the end caps it off this way. Hey,
you got them all? What sport is that? That's football,
the XFL. Okay, those news to him, it's the XFL. There.
What do you think? Andy? Entertained by that mild you
know what? He he goes in a different direction. He's
zigs and zags a lot like you. He's zig zags
(02:02:56):
and stags. That is in his own like realm over there.
But he likes to talk. I know about that. Andy.
By the way, our time is up. We want to
thank you for yours and of course we'll be back
here next Sunday, bright and early. We probably know. I'm
Andy Ferman on Fox Sports Radio. You're listening to Fox
