let's get right into it, Okay, because and I'm not
trying to kill suspense. I know everybody's excited for this,
but what we saw Saturday was a great day for
college football. Okay, a great day because no matter what happens,
it's going to please a large group, right so you
(03:17):
so you really can't lose, and so so college football
at a massive day on Saturday. The SEC title game
was a classic. That was one of the better football
games I've seen, Maybe the best football game I've seen
since Georgia Alabama last year. Okay, that was awesome. And
Jalen Hurts that story guy coming back in after being
(03:40):
benched in the national title game. Uh, he's got two
losses in his entire career. National champion comes back in,
makes a decision he doesn't want to transfer away from Alabama,
decides to stick it out there, and his reasoning for
wanting to stick it out there was I think I
can learn and become a better passer here as opposed
to going somewhere else. And did you end up watching
(04:04):
the back end of that game? Did you see some
of the throws? He was making a clear improvement over
where he was at a year ago as far as
his development goes, as far as passing. So the SEC
title game was great, It was awesome Alabama wins there
into the College Football Playoff. The Big Twelve Title game
was really fun. Oklahoma Texas a little bit of defense
(04:25):
early on, back and forth, a couple of big plays,
a safety in that game that that was huge for Oklahoma.
Oklahoma ends up winning the Big Twelve title game. Those
two teams play ten times. They probably split or at
six and four. That's just the way that rivalry goes.
Ohio stayed at an ice win over Northwestern. Northwestern battled early,
(04:48):
it was tight. Ohio stayed at an ice win. Clemson
had an ice win, UCF had an ice win with
that Mackenzie Milton UCF one. It was a great day
for college football. But bottom line, who's getting in because
they're going to release the College Football Playoff rankings coming
up at noon on Sunday, nine o'clock Pacific time, and
(05:08):
I think that's seven o'clock now at the time change
in Hawaii. For our friends listening on Fox Sports. Here
are the teams that are getting in. Alabama is getting in.
They were number one going in. They won, They've got
a perfect record, their SEC champions, they're getting in. Clemson
clearly getting in. They're rolling. They're as hot as anybody
(05:31):
else in the country right now. Clemson, we know, is
getting in. Notre Dame is undefeated, was already sitting at
the three spot. Notre Dame is getting into the college
football playoffs. So it comes down to the fourth and
this is where the discussion takes place. And I'm gonna
explain to you why one teams getting in and the
(05:51):
others aren't. Oklahoma is getting in. Oklahoma was going to
get the fourth spot, and there are a couple of
reasons for it. Number One, they were already set up
to being the fifth team, being the fourth team in
the playoff by being seated at at five before this
weekend's games Georgia playing Alabama. The only outcome that were
(06:14):
have screwed Oklahoma was if Georgia would have beaten Alabama
because there's no way if you flip the score on Saturday,
Alabama gets gets left behind in Oklahoma jumps Alabama. There's
no way, absolutely no way. For SEC haters out there
understand it was that close. So Oklahoma sitting at number five,
(06:38):
they're in just based on where they're at seating wise.
The second and this is the one that I've been
told about for a couple of years now. For a
couple of years now, you guys have told me it's
all about offense. That's all I've been hearing. It's all
about offense. Offense sells fantasy football, high scoring, you know,
(07:00):
modify the rules, make it easier for receivers, make it
a more quarterback friendly game. Offense cells. That's all I've
been hearing. Offense cells. When I was celebrating at ten
game on Thursday Night football, I was getting pushedback. God's boring. Yeah,
that may win you some games defense, but it's offense.
It's what sells tickets. Offense is what gets your ratings.
(07:22):
Look at the Rams and the Chiefs. I spoke out
against it, and all I kept hearing about, No, no, no,
that's what we want. We want offense, right, we want offense.
So if we're all acknowledging that where football is at
nowadays is about what's exciting and what you can sell,
and if what you can sell is offense. If that's
(07:43):
the case, how the f do you leave that Oklahoma
offense out of the College Football Playoff? Even if you
only get one game of it? How do you leave
it out? I don't understand how you could possibly think
Oklahoma doesn't get in if all you've been feeding me
for the past couple of years is offenses. Everything now
it's all about TV rights, viewership, interest, excitement. Nobody wants
(08:06):
to watch defense. How you leave that offense out? Somebody
please explain that to me? Oh, but their defense is
like so historically bad. The College Football Committee was on
record as saying after they put Oklahoma five earlier in
the week that there was discussion about Oklahoma and Ohio
(08:26):
State at five and six, and they went with Oklahoma,
And when they were asked about the defense, they said,
we understand that there are issues with the Oklahoma defense,
that it is really a poor defense, it's bad. But
they said that offense is so impressive that it's supersedes
(08:47):
the defense. That's how good this offense is. So if
it's all about what's exciting, what's good for TV, what's
better for business, how do you say no to that
Oklahoma offense? How do you turn that away? So, to me,
all Oklahoma had to do is win on Saturday and
(09:09):
wait for Alabama to be George on Saturday. It got close,
but that's all Okloma needed. Once Alabama won that game,
Oklahoma was in. To me, it was a done deal.
The other thing, and again, I talked about this a
couple of weeks ago, and you can think I'm crazy.
You can think I'm I'm overlooking this and I'm bringing
up an old story. But I'm telling you, I'm telling
(09:30):
you there's something to this. The Ohio State scandal before
the season is going to be factored into this. It's happening,
all right. So if you don't buy me on, if
you don't buy a well, Oklahoma was getting in because
they were fifth, and you don't buy a well, Oklahoma
is getting in because their offense is really really good.
In offense is what sells tickets and gets people to
(09:51):
the television, then at least buy me on this. If
it's close and I said it a couple of weeks ago.
If it's close and they can't decide who gets in
and who gets and who gets left out, and they're
looking to determine who's the better team, they're gonna factor
in all sorts of things. And if you think in
the back of their minds that some of those guys
(10:13):
in the committee aren't thinking about how ugly that scandal
was for Ohio State before the year, and how bad
the optics were for Urban Meyer, and you think that
won't be brought into these discussions, you're totally naive. Totally naive.
I don't think it's fair. I don't think it's right.
It should be about what goes on on the field.
But that's just the reality where we're at with this,
(10:35):
right or wrong. I think that's another factor that goes
into this. So I think it's gonna be Alabama, Clemson,
Notre Dame, and Oklahoma. Here's the other thing. I totally
understand the argument for Georgia. I get it. I get
the argument for Georgia. And let me say this, if
it turns out that Georgia gets the number four spot,
(10:57):
I'm okay with it, because what are we trying to
determine here, who's most deserving, who's the best, who's got
the best resident? Like what are we determining here? Like,
shouldn't you want your top four teams in the country
in the college football playoff? If you want your top
(11:17):
four teams in the country in the college football playoffs,
I don't know how you watch Saturday and don't think
George is the top four team. I don't know how
you watch Saturday and don't think you know what, I
think that team might be able to give Alabama run
for their money again, you know, like that team there
that had that game kind of in the bag. I think.
I think George is one of the best four teams
in the country. So I get the argument for Georgia
(11:40):
and people speaking out against it. You can, you can.
You can hate on the SEC all you want, but
find me a better football game this season than what
you watched on Saturday between Alabama and Georgia. So I
wouldn't argue it if Georgia was put in because I
do personally believe they're gonna be They're one of the
four best teams in the country. But I'm saying right
(12:02):
now it's gonna be Oklahoma I think that was sort
of predetermined, not before this weekend, but before what happened
in the off season with Ohio State and where Oklown
was placed last week. All they needed was to win
their game and hope Alabama beats Georgia and take care
of business, and then Oklhoma is getting in. I think that.
(12:23):
I think that's the way it's gonna go. And look
if Oklahoma and I'll say this right now, if Oklahoma
gets in and you match them up against Alabama or
something crazy happens and you put them in the three spot,
it's all about what's good for business and the counter
that people say, well, what's gonna get you to the television?
(12:44):
Urban Meyer or Lincoln Riley. Urban Meyer's got a big name.
I get it. Urban Meyer's got a big name. Awesome,
that's great. That's great for pay per view, that's great.
Urban Meyers not playing in the game, though, that's great
for pay per view. A big name will make you boy,
I but will a big name make you stay? What's
gonna make you stay a big name coach or a
(13:06):
really really exciting offense. So to me, Oaklahoma is gonna
get the four spot. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio eight
seven seven nine on Fox is the phone number eight
seven seven six three six nine. You can also get
me on Twitter at the Jonas Knox as We come
to you live here from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
(13:28):
Coming up next. This was a uh, one of the
more insane things I've seen in a sporting event in
a long long time. And right out of the gates,
some really dumb commentary. Find out who we're talking about
next here on FS are Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio,
(13:50):
coming to you live here from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio Studios. All right, so coming up here and just
a couple of moments, one of the more just a crazy,
crazy scene, one of the crazier scenes that I've seen
in sports in a long long time. We will get
to that here momentarily here on Fox Sports Radio. I
(14:11):
do want to welcome in the crew. They're gonna be
writing Shotgun with me until six am Eastern time. Here
on FS are ladies and gentlemen. He is Iowa, Sam,
your tech producer. You like that? Michael Bolton coming in? Nope,
yeah you did not? I think you do? True? Why
why do you overthink this stuff? Just play the hits?
Man play the classics. There's like twenty of those songs.
(14:34):
We all hear him a million times, Bing Crosby, like
all the like all the classics. Man play those you
don't just we have a month ago. Okay, you'll you'll
hear him. You played a Christmas song from like Twisted
Sister on yesterday show Small Town Titans. It's good stuff.
Gotta mix it in. Who is that? Who is the
(14:55):
crumby eighties band that you played their Christmas song on
the show? Warrant? Oh my, Like if it's not cherry Pie,
it's not being played. Let's just have a good laugh
and try to roll in the merriment of this holiday season. Right.
Warrant stinks? They do stink. They have a couple of
God they're definitely one of those kind of like just
(15:15):
not good bands. Not great eighties hair metal band, but
not great at all. Um, But you know what joy
play for you. But I do have a request and
I would like to not hear Michael Bolton all right, Uh,
ladies and gentlemen, the most violent man in sports talk
radio is here. Ralph Irvan Helloha, brot. You know I
(15:37):
can take you over to Uncle Tom's cabin and we
can have a discussion about it. What you want to
go with Warren? I mean, let's go with Warrant. It's
one of their their big albums, that Uncle Tom's Cabin.
I missed that one. I didn't. Ralph pulls out b
side references that just go right over our head. Come on, Ralph,
(16:00):
like listen route nobody, Ralph, Nobody wants to hear about
what you listen to? A hot topic in the Oaks Mall? Okay, no,
nobody wants to hear about that. What are you talking about?
That's your that's your gig. Yeah, I wouldn't go there. Yeah,
Ralph is a is a hot topic connoisseur. He goes
there and he gets the fake piercings and the slip
(16:21):
knot T shirts and then walks back home. Come on, Ralph,
that the Thousand Oaks Mall you stop by stacked to
get an appetizer. I don't know if pictures will be
out there in the Ethernet wearing blacknail polished their sun show. Well, listen, Uh,
there's there's a lot. There's a lot you can do
with photoshop. Do I need to re earn my nickname tonight?
(16:43):
There's there's a lot that we could do with photoshop. Ralph.
I'm not going to confirm nor deny that I may
have once had my toe nails painted. Not going to
be careful, Ralphie. By the way, Ralph's got the Weird
World of Ralph coming up later on in the hour. Here, Uh,
some us very very um very expensive grabbing in the
(17:04):
Weird World of Ralph And we'll leave it at that.
And then your executive producer is Vince Close. How's it going, Jonas?
Just taking out Vince. It's a it's a fine Sunday morning.
You don't look frustrated at all with what's gone on
during your shift, So it's it's been a great day.
Thos far got stringers calling in from Ohio State game
(17:25):
and just a complete bleep show for my last but
a lot of them lets you deep into that very
organized that they very organized set up. But but nonetheless,
we're gonna be here until six and I'm gonna have
a lot of fun. Uh, and we hope that you
stay with us here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way,
we brought to you by Discover Card. We treat you
like you treat you. Okay, don't let boxing piss you off.
(17:51):
Don't let boxing piss you off. Don't let boxing piss
you off. Okay. Um Tyson Fury Deonta A Wilder Boxing
Saturday Night Staple Center heavyweight fight. A fun nominal fight,
outstanding Um. The finish was crazy, ended up being a draw.
(18:14):
Tyson Fury, who looked like he was about ready to
get knocked up. By the way, both these guys undefeated.
Tyson Fury looks like he's he's about ready to win
the fight. It's in the twelfth round. He's in command
of the fight. And then this happens on Showtime pay
per view. Right Frost a lance for Fury has stow.
(18:44):
He's all you can say. Wow, he got all incredible.
And here's the thing. Not only did he get up
from that when he looked like he was finished, it
looked like the fight was over. He is on dream street.
Not only did he get up from that, he won
the remainder of the round. He got up and won
(19:06):
the remainder of the round. It's a fight that's gonna
be talked about for years and years to come. One
of the better heavyweight fights I've seen in a long
long time, and for all the bitching and all the
moaning about the heavyweight division and where did it go,
and all the who can't recognize any of these guys,
it's all lower weight classes. We don't want to watch
the little guys. For all of that, the heavyweight division
delivered on Saturday night and it was fantastic. It was
(19:27):
a fun watch, and there were a lot of amazing
things that happened in that fight. And again both guys undefeated,
um exciting all the way down to the end, and
then the fight gets ruled a draw. Here's the problem.
Tyson Fury got screwed, got absolutely screwed. Don't let anybody
who watched that fight tell you anything other than Tyson
Fury got screwed. If you didn't watch the fight, take
(19:50):
my word for it. I've covered enough fights. I followed
the sport for twenty years plus. I know what I'm
talking about. Tyson Fury got absolutely jobbed by the scoring
in that fight. I had it one fifteen, one eleven
for Tyson Fury, which puts him at nine rounds out
of twelve. So I had it nine rounds out of twelve,
(20:12):
but he was knocked down twice, which leads to the
discrepancy of instead of having a seventeen, you've got a
hundred fifteen. So I had a one fifteen one eleven
for Tyson Fury. Majority of the people who watched the
fight had the fight scored for Tyson Fury. But the
problem is people get so overwhelmed with the big home
(20:34):
run punch that they don't understand how the scoring works.
There's people who are tweeting that we're at the Fight
Live who think that Deontay Wilder got screwed. Listen, there's
a reason that when you go to score fights, and
I've talked to two writers and people that score fights,
and what they'll do is this, if they're at the
(20:57):
fight live, they'll score a fight in person, and then
they'll go home and they'll watch the fight on TV
and they'll score it again. And then they'll go back
and they'll watch the fight again, but they'll turn the
volume down on the television and then watch it again
because you'd be amazed what outside no noise and distraction
(21:19):
does to you when you're trying to score a fight.
There was a judge who had my score in reverse
for Deontay Wilder and gave the first four rounds to
Deontay Wilder. You have got to be a pothead or
on some sort of methamphetamine to think that Deontay Wilder
won the first four rounds. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
(21:43):
Watch the fight. It'll be on free TV a week
from now, and remember how I scored it, or or
do whatever you gotta do to find it online. I
have no idea how that stuff works. But if you
watch the fight and you know what I'm talking about,
the problem is people in the arena think they give
an accurate depiction of the fight, and you can't. It's
why judges, and I've always said this, need to be
in a sound proof inclosed area to be able to
(22:06):
watch a fight and score it, because there's things at
ringside that you can't see that we can see on television.
I remember covering a fight and watching a fight in
person a decade ago at the Anaheim Pond, the Arrowhead
Pond in Anaheim, and it was Vic Darchignian versus a
guy named Jorge R. Say, majority are like, who the effort?
(22:28):
Those guys like? Just just bear with me. Vic Darchignian
was this hundred fifteen hundred eighteen pound angry Australian Armenian
who had C four in his left wrist. He put
guys to sleep through bombs. One of my favorite fighters ever.
I went into that fight favoring Vic Darchignian because I
(22:52):
love watching him fight, and I left there after it
was stopped in the eleventh round, and I said, man,
that's a bad stoppage. I mean d'archinnian one, and I
was happy, that's a bad stoppage. I watched that fight.
I was there in person. That was a pretty close fight.
I thought, or or Orge r S fought a pretty
good fight. I went back and watched it on television.
R S didn't win one round. He was dominated. But
(23:13):
I was in the arena and I didn't have a
good vantage point, and the outside noise and everything that
distracts you. You can't concentrate enough on the fight. So
when people are in the arena going oh, no way,
no way, stop, don't get don't lose focus of what's
happening in the ring. It's why you can't trust somebody
who's in the stands, taking in the environment, trying to
(23:35):
tell you what it's really like. You can't The vantage
point at home is so much better nowadays, and it's
not just boxing, it's every other sport, and people get
so caught up on the excitement of the event and
everything else that goes along that they lose sight of
the fact, Hey, who's winning the fight. Well, there's no way, uh,
(23:55):
a guy with two knockdowns should lose the fight. No,
it's actually pretty easy. Anybody watched baseball. Here's how it works.
If one guy has a batting average of three hundred
but he doesn't have any home runs, and another guy
is batting one forty and he's got a couple of
home runs, who's the better hitter? The guy batting three hundred,
(24:20):
who doesn't happen as much power as the other guy.
It's about hitting. It's not about who's got the most power.
It's not about who had the big moments. It's about
who had the most moments. And there's no way that
you watch that fight and you see Tyson Fury school
him round after round after round, slipping shots, making him
(24:41):
miss landing his jab clean right hands. Even when he
did get knocked down, he came back and won the
last part of those rounds. There's no way you can
watch that be educated enough on the sport and look
and think, yeah, you know what Deonte Wilder got screwed.
The fact that it was a draw was ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous.
(25:03):
I feel like Teddy Atlas, Honest to god, I'm I
love boxing, It's one of my passions boxing, m m A.
I grew up on it. And I've said it before.
I am boxing his doormat because I've watched too many
of these things happen. And every single time when I
say I'm not going back, I don't want anymore. I
want no part of this. I'm out of this relationship.
Last time you cheat on me, guess what I do?
(25:25):
Second boxing calls at who I am and I'm lonely.
I'm going back over for more. Every time I'm their doormat.
Teddy Atlas said it best that we see how how
does this happen? Look, I can take ten years, and
it's been in years and years. It's the same garbage,
the same trash. I have no choice. I've been in
his business footy years of life when we're gonna go
(25:45):
and didn't let it go. But if I did, I
get the hell out of it. I get the half
of it. I'm a second tired of watch of these
fighters that put everything on the line, they're getting the ring,
they come out of the ring with less of themselves
physically that they had when they went in. And this
gets done in TOLF by a bunch of college at
side that never took a bunch of dair live. I'm
(26:07):
sick of it. It's a joke, absolute joke. And and
the judge who had I don't remember the guy's name,
I was too piste off. I had to walk away
is too piste off. Whoever had it one fifteen, one
eleven for Wilder. That guy should never work another fight
again ever, Like figure it out, do something. I mean,
the NFL will call out their refs and say we're
putting an all star officiating crew together for this game
(26:30):
on Monday night, which is telling you the rest of
these guys aren't as good. The NBA has got a
final two minute report to where they say, hey, listen,
in the last two minutes, our officials butchered these calls.
But in boxing, yeah, as long as we get a
rematch effort, why not. God, it pisces me off, all right, Jonas,
I'm sweating and I have bo off the charts right now.
(26:51):
This is I'm taking my shirt off, all right, Jonas
knocks Fox Sports Radio seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Get me on Twitter at the Jonas Knox from the
Ico Fox Sports Radio Studios. Coming up next, a story
in the NFL that's not going anywhere and it's not good.
That's coming up next here on Fox Sports Radio. But
for all the latest it is Ralph Irman. Well, thank
(27:11):
you very much, Jonas. And yes, it was Conference Championship
Saturday in college football in the SEC. Number one Alabama
a thirty comeback win over number four Georgia. Jalen hurts
and touchdown pass and a touchdown run in the victory.
Number two clumbs and rolled through Pittsburgh. They take the
(27:31):
a c C title. Number five Oklahoma wins the Big twelve,
beating number fourteen Texas. The Sooner has avenged their only
loss of the year. Thirty nine seven Kyler Murray three
seventy nine yards passing and three scoring throws. Number six
Ohio State no problem with number twenty one Northwestern four.
Number eight UCF trailed by seventeen at the half, they
(27:55):
win fifty six to forty one over Memphis. They finished
the regular season twelve and oh, for the second straight year.
Online car shopping can be confusing, not anymore. With true

In the NBA, Toronto won their eighth straight Kawhi Leonard
(28:16):
with thirty four points nine rebounds as the Raptors took
out Cleveland one oh six. Steph Curry returned after an
eleven game absence. Still not enough for Golden State. They
lose again on the road one eleven, one o two
to the Detroit Pistons and Gordon Hayward thirty points nine
rebounds in Boston beats Minnesota one eight team one o nine.
(28:39):
Back to you, thanks for Alph Comedy Live here from
the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, where it's easy to
say more on car insurance with Geico, go to Geico
dot com call eight nine Voice seven Auto. The only
hard part figuring out which way is easier. Jonas Knox
here on Fox Sports Radio, we will have a coming
up ten minutes from now. Um, A very expense of
(29:00):
dirty move in the NFL. Al right, so a very
expensive dirty move coming up ten minutes from now here
on Fox Sports Radio in the NFL. I'm not kidding me.
I wonder if boxing, I swear to God, I wonder
if the powers would be at boxing. I think to themselves, Man,
it's late. I don't feel like going anywhere. God, who's
our booty call? I will just hit up Jonas every
(29:23):
every couple of months, hit up Jonas, pay your seventy
five to a hundred bucks, watch up, no problem, and
yeah every time I pay every time. He's never gonna stop.
It's never gonna end. I just like they've got this
hold on me. By the way, Tyson Fury when he
did actually get up, you know the gift of the Undertaker,
the ww wrestler rising in the ring, That's what Tyson
(29:45):
Fury looked like, the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
All Right. So I was saying, um, here are the
latest on Kareem Hunt, all right, and this is where
things are going to get sketchy, and it's gonna get
bad between the NFL and the Chiefs um According to
a report from the Athletic that came out on Saturday,
the Chiefs knew that the video that we saw on
(30:10):
Friday of Kareem Hunt in the physical altercation with the
woman in which he kicked her while she was on
the ground. The Chiefs knew that the video existed, and
they repeatedly attempted to obtain it, but they were According
to this report, they were told by the NFL to
stop pursuing it later in February because the league was
(30:31):
beginning its investigation. So then the Chiefs also said, Um,
Kareem Hunt, um lied to them multiple times Afrida having
discussions and all that Kareem Hunt lied to them, so
on and so forth. Um, I told you on the
show yesterday, this is far from over. The Chiefs thought
that they could get rid of the distraction, and they
(30:53):
could get rid of all the bogus, all this this
crap and all this disgusting news and details and all
of that. They could get rid of it and and
have it out of their locker room by cutting Kareem Hunt.
It's it's a big move to make He's a really
good player, really effective in that offense, has put up
really really big numbers over the first couple of years
(31:13):
of his career, huge numbers. But the Chiefs made the move,
and it was a bold one. We're not gonna let
that guy's character supersed what he does on the field
in his talent. And so they made the move and
it was to ay, we're done with this. We gotta
focus on the team, focus on the super Bowl. Let's
go and let's move forward. Now you've got well we
(31:35):
tried to get ahold of the video, but the NFL
wouldn't allow us. Now you've got all the questions that
are coming to Tyreek Hill because Tyreek Hills incident in
college is going to be brought up. Now the Chiefs
are gonna be asked about why is Tyreek on the
team but Kareem is not Um They're gonna be asked
over and over again, what did he tell you? Did
he relay anything to you specifically about the night? Did
(31:56):
did Kareem Hunt, uh specifically lie to you about that night? Now,
Kareem Hunt is set to do an interview later this morning,
I believe on the ESPN, set to do a sit
down interview. And who the hell knows what's going to
come out of that interview. So the Chiefs in a
couple of hours, went from preparing for the game this
(32:18):
Sunday against the Oakland Raiders with Kareem Hunt as they're
starting running back to finding out reportedly in real time
with the rest of us on Twitter, social media, whatever,
that Kareem Hunt reportedly lied to them about what happened
in the elevator. They then send him home from the facility.
(32:39):
They then cut him from the team, and a day
later they're saying that the NFL told them not to
pursue the video any longer. Oh, and that Kareem Hunt
continue to lie to him. And then a day after that,
Kareem Hunts gonna give an interview. Oh and then a
few hours after that, the Chiefs have got to go
play a game against the Oakland Raiders, Like this is
it going anywhere? Man? This is gonna linger and stay
(33:01):
with them for quite a while, because the more that
these details come out, the more it looks shady, the
more it looks like, man, who's who's doing what here?
How did TMZ get the video? Why doesn't the NFL
get the video? And I brought it up on the
show yesterday. I wonder if it's as simple as this,
because there's a lot of people saying, listen, TMZ is
(33:22):
able to get the video, but the NFL security is
not able to get it. I wonder if it's as
simple as the NFL thinks it's bad optics to have
to pay for surveillance video. Honestly, Like, I wonder if
they if they look at it because of their arrogance
and say, oh, we're better than TMZ. We're not paying
you money for those videos were the NFL. Well, guess
what happens every time TMZ gets hold of the video
(33:45):
and you don't, you look like you're bad at your job.
So you can criticize TMZ all they want. But the
more that these details come out, the more this is
gonna linger, and the worse it looks for everybody involved.
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio eight seven seven a D
nine on Fox is the phone number eight seven seven
six three six nine uh and get me on Twitter
(34:08):
at the Jonas Knox from the Geico Fox Sports Radio
Studios coming up next. Um, a move that many of
us have done to ourselves apparently could cost you over
thirteen thousand dollars if you do it to somebody else,
It's an NFL story and it's yours. Next here on
fs are Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio from the Geico,
(34:32):
Fox Sports Radio Studios, we will have another edition of
the Weird World of Ralph coming up here in a
couple of minutes from now here. On Fox Sports Radio,
we're talking about the Kareem Hunt situation. So there's a
report out that is saying from the Athletic that the
Chiefs tried to pursue the video and the NFL told
(34:56):
them to stop pursuing it back in February that that
according to the Kansas City Chiefs. So now I got
a little bit of a little bit of finger pointing,
a little bit of back and forth. Guy writes in
on Twitter. If the NFL had obtained the tape first,
nobody would have even known they paid for But because
TMZ got it first, everyone knows they paid for it.
I think the NFL could have had it but turned
(35:16):
it down because the price was too high, And now
they look bad. Think about that the NFL didn't obtain
a video of one of their players kicking a woman
while she's on the ground because they were haggling over prices.
What like, what do we at at end Sonata or
(35:38):
like if it feels like when my buddy was haggling
one of the uh the workers in Ensnata, Mexico on
a cruise because she wanted to charge him fifteen bucks
for a slingshot and he refused to give her anything
over nine. Like, what what are we doing here? That's
the case? Like what does that say about the NFL? Ridiculous?
(35:59):
By the way, let's go to uh quickly to Louis,
who was in Minnesota listening here on Fox Sports Radio, Lewis,
what's going on? Man? Well, we'll hold on, hold on,
hold on, hold on, Louis. Louis, you got one job, bro.
I called you out? Did you ever we call you
out on the show yesterday? I said, hey, where is
(36:23):
deep voice? Louis? You better be sick or dead if
you haven't called in during the holidays to do your
your rendition of your a mean one Mr Grinch. Alright,
so Louis, before we get to your take, all right,
you are you are on the mount rushmore of most
famous callers in this show. Louis, we are going to
play the music, the Mr. Grinch music, and I want
(36:44):
you to listen to it, and I want you to
just release those pipes on the air here on Fox
Sports Radio. Tis this season, Lewis, here we go. You're ready,
Here we go. You You are as cudly as the cactus.
(37:10):
You is charming as the new mystic. There he is. Man,
you went too far into it, my man, that's all right.
Anybody only cares about the first part. There you go, Louis,
that's all that matters. Maybe you can you can you
do that every week? Man? Seriously? Can you do it
(37:30):
every week? Can you call in every week and do
one of those? Well? You know, the reason why I'm
up in the midnight hour is because I run a
karaoke show and sometimes I'm doing it, sometimes I'm not.
So if I'm not doing it, I may not be Eis.
If you are up, I would request that you call
in if you can. All right, I'm not trying to
appreciate your I'm not trying to do Uh So, what's
(37:52):
going on, Louise? You got anything on your mind outside
of showcasing your vocal cords? So take it man. You
know you're talking about situation, you know, and how it
might pick. It's gonna be thing. I did see a
report that The Chance to Read It Up published it.
But I did see report that somebody was speculating who's
(38:14):
going to claim Kareem Hunt off Waivers. Well, I'm thinking,
are you kidding? I just read the headline of thinking nobody.
Nobody's gonna do it, you know, and and it hasn't
been done obviously yet. But now he's on the exemp list,
and so I don't think you can be claimed if
you're on the example list. But he's gonna go away.
He's gonna go away, just like Great Rice did. Anybody
would be foolish, Any team would be foolish. You would
(38:35):
be a pr nightmare, you know if they were too
to take on this guy again. Now and so as
the NFL and you're like, why are they inno bidding
more for this tape? Well, it's always about money, Jonas.
I mean, why do you think they're in London because
it's money. Why do you think they're trying to play
in games in Mexico because it's money? Why they're trying
to do an eighteen game schedule? And the players are
(38:56):
like no way, you know? I mean, yeah, that's just
extra money for the league. It's all about money, brother,
Yeah no, And I hear you, Losen I we appreciate it.
We love you. Man. Call back if you can, if
you're not doing karaoke. Yeah, I get it. But let's
just let's just pretend for the betterment of the story.
All right, let's just like, what's gonna be the most
ridiculous portion of the story that the NFL didn't obtain
(39:21):
the video that TMZ got because they got outbid by TMZ.
All right, let's just think about that. And and you
could say, well, why should the NFL have to pay
for it? Man, if you care enough, you'll pay for it.
I mean, how many of you have overspent at the
vet for your dog? Every one of us, every and
you know what, do it again in a herpeat. You
(39:42):
know you're getting hose by the vet. But if they're like, hey,
he needs some blood work because we've got to find
out whether or not he's got cancer because he can't
walk and every time he goes to cut a fart
his neck falls off, Like every time that happens, and
they got to do blood work that costs you money.
How many of you have said, nas, screw it, just
put him down. I'm good. Uh, you know, I don't
want to get my car dirty on the way back. Anyways.
(40:05):
It's just I mean, like you're gonna pay for it?
If you really want something, you're gonna pay for it.
If the NFL, and I'm not again, I'm not claiming
that this is the case, but the more that we
hear these details, I wonder if it's as simple as
the NFL just didn't want to pay for the tape.
They just didn't want to pay for it, and so
they haggled over the price and then decided, yeah, just
(40:25):
a little bit out of our price range, we're not
gonna do it. Yeah, forget that. Yeah, we want no
part of it. Like, if that's the case, that is ridiculous, Man,
that's ridiculous. You're not you're not buying a used car, Okay,
you're not at the goodwill or at the garage sale.
How much for the lamps? Oh? I got his fifteen?
(40:46):
All right, we'll let you have. Like, what are we
doing here? Like one of your players kicked a woman
while she was on the ground. She's crying, telling the
cops on the bodycam that's what happened. And the NFL
is like, yeah, but they're asking too much for the tape.
You know, I don't want to be part of it.
How could you butcher this anymore? Jonah sucks Fox Sports Radio.
By the way, we did um promise you the weird
(41:06):
world of Ralph. We will get to that. That'll be
coming up next hour. So we apologize. Ralph is throwing
Chinese Ninja stars at the wall in the Update studio.
He is violent and angry. He just grabbed his crotch
and cursed its Sam through the glass. It is umph,
so we APPOLLOI Ralph, Ralph, I'm sorry. Louis called and
(41:27):
they kind of threw us all off. But we will
get to it. I promise there it is. See, that's
what I gotta deal with. It's like the yeah, it's
like the uh, the bear from the Great Outdoors. That's Ralph.
He's the bear from the Great Outdoors. You gotta shoot
the hair off his ask to get him out of
your house. All right, we're here company Alive from the
Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. Doesn't mean when Geico says
(41:47):
just fifteen minutes could save you fift or more on
car insurance. I mean you probably should have gone to
Geigo dot Com fifteen minutes ago. Knocks locks. Next year
on FSR, a very controverse She'll move last weekend in
the football world actually benefited this show and potentially you
(42:08):
as well. I'll explain here coming up in just a
couple of minutes, Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can
check out the show on the I Heart Radio app.
You can find us on Sirius XM channel LAD three

(42:29):
fifteen minutes could save you fifteen per cent or more
on car insurance. Visit Geico dot com for a free
rate quote. So we are going to get into uh
Knox locks here coming up in just a couple of moments. UM.
I did want to talk about this because this is
why this is a big deal. Um. So, there was
a heavyweight fight in l a showtime pay per view
(42:52):
Tyson Fury Deonder Day Night. It was a classic, one
of the better heavyweight fights in a long long time
in boxing. Every but he was blown away by the performance.
Tyson Fury looked like he was coasting during parts of
the fight. He was just out boxing Deontay Wilder. Um.
You know a movement everything, just an impressive boxing perform
(43:13):
He's just a better boxer technique wise, skill set wise,
a better boxer. But Deontay Wilder's got that thing you know,
like uh, it's called frost. Sahabi is an m M
a trainer um. He trains UFC fighters, very successful guy.
He calls it the touch of death. He said. Certain
guys are just gifted with it. When they hit you,
(43:34):
it feels different than anything else that anybody's ever hit
you with. Deontay Wilder's got that. It's his right hand.
His power is so jarring that it rattles your brain.
It changes fights all the time. And so he ended
up knocking Tyson Fury down once, and then they got
into the twelfth round when it looked like he needed
(43:56):
a knockout to win the fight, he knocked Tyson Fury
down again. Tyson Fury somehow got up one of the
most incredible um uh comebacks from a knockdown. Because he
looked like it was done. The announcers even called the fight.
They said it's over. And then he ended up getting
back up and he beat the ten count and actually
went on to win the round. So incredible performance. Absolutely outstanding.
(44:18):
Tyson Fury got screwed. Watch the fight when it comes
out on on Showtime for free, watch it online somehow,
watch it. Score the fight at home. You don't even
have to know that much to know one guy was
out boxing the other. The other guy had bigger moments,
but the other guy had more moments, and that was
Tyson Fury and he got screwed. Anybody who tells you
(44:38):
differently has no idea what they were watching, or they
had money on Deontay Wilder, or they they're scoring in reverse,
because I have no idea what they see. The reason
why it's a big deal and the reason why we
can look at this one of two ways, and we
can say, well, you know what, it's all about getting
paid and so because this fight was close and there
(44:59):
was controversy, it's gonna set up a second fight and
they're gonna get paid again. That's great and all. That's awesome,
but you can't erase the damage that those two guys
just took in a ring as heavyweights for thirty six minutes,
twelve rounds, thirty six minutes. There's nothing that you can
(45:22):
get paid that's going to take away the damage you've
just done to your body. Case in point, on the
same night that Tyson Fury and Deonte Wilder went twelve
rounds in a classic, another fighter, Adonis Stevenson, Canadian fighter
(45:42):
former world champion, ended up getting knocked out on Saturday.
He's now in critical condition in the hospital. That's why
that stuff is important, because when a guy puts his
life on the line, and that's exactly what they're doing,
and you job him of a decision that he's earned,
(46:04):
and it's from a judge who either has an ulterior
motive or an agenda or whatever, or he's just an idiot,
that's why it's a big deal, because they're shaving months
and potentially years off their lives to try and win
a fight. And yeah, they're going to get a fat
(46:24):
paycheck afterwards, and yes they're gonna get a rematch, and
there's gonna be another fat paycheck after that, bigger than
this one. And yes it was entertaining and we all
love it, but you can't get rid or put a
price tag on the reality or buy off the reality
of you're doing serious damage. Same day, same sport guy
(46:47):
gets screwed with a decision, you wonder why you so outraged.
Look around the sport. On the same day, another guy
is now in critical condition. Because that's how real that
sport is. That's why it's a big deal. That's why
people get worked up about it. It's terrible. So all right,
Jonahs knocks Fox Sports Radio. Um, so we do something
(47:09):
on the show here on fs ARE every single week
during the football season. It's called Knox Locks. And what
I'll do is I'll go around the NFL and I
will pick random things. It could be an actual point spread,
it could be an over under, it could be a
prop bet. I could just call my shot on something.
Earlier in the season, I projected that they were going
to be more than one quarterbacks one quarterback playing for
(47:32):
one team, and it ended up hitting. If I just
have a gut feeling about something, I'm gonna call on it.
And so it's been a pretty successful year so far,
and we've had a pretty good run at it. And
then last week came and last week was not not
the best week in the world. You see, last week, Um,
we were saved, Okay, we were saved by something that
had later in the show. So last week, just to
(47:55):
recap quickly, I had the Cincinnati Bengals minus one host
sing the Cleveland Browns. Um, that's because I forgot that
Cincinnati is an awful football team with a god awful defense.
So I lost that. I also had the Oakland Raiders
plus eleven and a half at the Ravens. I was
(48:15):
kind of sitting pretty in that game. I was covering
that I was winning that game. And then Terrell Suggs
turned back the clock and returned a fumble and and
I ended up losing that bet. But in the same game,
I also had Lamar Jackson over eleven and a half
rushing attempts. I said, listen, he's gonna pull the ball down.
(48:36):
He's still trusts his feet more than his arm and
his eyes. I think he's gonna pull the ball down,
and I think he's gonna run to have success against
the Raiders over under it was eleven and a half.
I had the over. He finished with eleven. So you
could see there's a theme going on here, right, There's
clearly a theme Monday Night football. I thought, you know what,
(48:56):
Malcolm Butler and that contract was so bad for Tennessee.
There was a prop bed out DeAndre Hopkins to score
a touchdown on Monday night. I picked DeAndre hopkins Is
to a score touchdown on Monday Night. Not only did
he not score touchdown on Monday Night to Marius Thomas
score too, a guy who Bill O'Brien said, Yeah, we
(49:18):
just haven't gotten really involved in the offense. So I'm
sitting at Owen four. Sitting at Owen four. But thank
god for two teams. I never thought I would rely
on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Calgary Stampeders. Because
(49:38):
I had Tampa Bay minus two over the forty niners,
that was easy. And then later in the show, I
gave a bonus Knox lock pick on the CFL Gray Cup.
I had the Calgary Stampeders minus four and that covered.
So because of those last two it kind of saved
face a little bit on the week. So I ended
(49:59):
up going to in for one of my worst weeks
in a long time, which puts us at eight and
seventeen on the season and sets us up for this
lock it. Let's lock it, no knocks locks Falcons. This
(50:22):
is a one p m. Eastern time kickoff. Atlanta is
a one and a half point favorite. Look, I'm going
back to the well on this. I've done it through.
This is the third week in a row. I've done it.
I'm not a believer in Lamar Jackson yet. I'm not
being a hater. I'm just not a believer yet. His
two starts were at home against the Bengals and the Raiders.
(50:42):
He won those games. But let's not pretend like he
was lighting it up in there, all right, Let's not
lie and make a big production out of it. He
threw two interceptions against the Raiders, which is like getting
dunked on by Peter Dinklage. Slow down on the hype.
Let's calm down a little bit on the Lamar Jackson
is saving the Ravens franchise. They've played nobody's the last
(51:06):
two weeks now. Atlanta has struggled on defense this year,
but I think a lot of that is due to injury.
They get back Pro Bowl linebacker Dion Jones later today,
which I think helps. First road game, first road started
his career for Lamar Jackson. Give me the Falcons minus
one and a half Cardinals. This is a one pm
(51:29):
Eastern time kickoff on Fox. It's been a rocky season
in Green Bay, and things got more interesting this past
week when an article from Sports Illustrated came out and
it talked about the relationship between Aaron Rodgers and Mike
McCarthy and how pretty much everybody's kind of resigned to
the fact that these guys just aren't really getting along
and aren't really see an eyed iye, and it's just
(51:51):
it's kind of a sort of hitting. This year has
been worse than others, and it's probably coming up to
coming on, you know, up towards the end of this
whole thing, gonna they're gonna kind of move on from
Mike McCarthy. Aaron Rodgers is gonna have a new head coach.
That's how things seem to be going on there. Because
you haven't heard a little a whole lot of people
dispute the article since it's come out. Now. The Packers
(52:13):
get the Cardinals at home Arizona. Surprisingly because you think
they're a really bad football team, but surprisingly they're a
top four passing defense in the league. So Aaron Rodgers
is going to get tested. But I think this is
a statement game for Rogers with all the noise going
on against a really good Cardinals past defense. My Knox
(52:34):
lock in this game is Aaron Rodgers will throw at
least three touchdown passes against that really good past defense
for Arizona Colts and Jaguars. Indianapolis is a four point
favorite on the road. This is a one pm Eastern
time kickoff. Look, Indianapolis is rolling. Andrew Luck has been
(52:54):
fantastic right now, the comeback player of the Year in
the NFL. And now, personally I would go Jalen Smith
of the Cowboys, but I do admire what Andrew Luck
is doing in Indianapolis. Why they're throwing passes to him
on that on the with all the injury history as
I'm not really sure. That's very bizarre play calling in
(53:15):
my mind. But everything here says take the red hot Colts,
who are making a playoff run. But Jacksonville made a
bold statement. They fired their offensive coordinator and then they
benched Blake Bordles for Cody Kessler. Now think about that.
What you're admitting is that it's not just a coordinator problem,
(53:39):
it's also a quarterback problem. So you're not even gonna
give Blake Bortles the opportunity to work with this other coordinator.
You're done. You've turned the keys over to Cody Kessler.
If that doesn't wake up a talented football team, and
Jacksonville is talented. If that doesn't wake him up and
get their attention at home against a division rival, I
(54:02):
don't know what will give me Jacksonville plus four at
Seahawks four Eastern time, kickoff on Fox and Seattle and
eight point favorite. I don't like having to give this
many points. The back door cover is the boogeyman. In
games like this, you could be sitting pretty up and
(54:27):
all of a sudden, uh, you know, a fluke touchdown,
a kickoff return, and you're screwed. I mean, you could
be you could be rolling up thirty to seventeen and
next thing you know, a fumble, something happens, a fluke
play and there's a touchdown and you end up getting screwed.
I mean, there's just so many bad things that could
(54:48):
happen when you've got an eight point line. So I'm
not totally comfortable with it, but I think this is
an extremely motivated Russell Wilson. Later today, he's gonna try
and showcase his skills. He heard the trash talk from
Richard Sherman earlier this week. Those two guys apparently don't
have a great relationship. Richard Sherman talks all sorts of trash.
Russell Wilson tries to take the high road, but I
(55:09):
think Wilson at home with all that talk from Richard Sherman.
I think Pete Carroll's heard the talk. I think they've
all heard the discussion. I think they're going to try
and expose Richard Sherman in this game. And I think
with Seattle battling for a wild card spot, I think
the play in this one is Seahawks minus eight, Chargers
(55:29):
at Steelers. Steelers are a three point favorite on Sunday
Night Football. I love the Chargers, I do. The Chargers
were my super Bowl pick before the season, but I
don't really like him here. I'm still hesitant to trust
the Chargers in big spots like this. Don't the Chargers
just seem to every time there's a big game or
(55:51):
a big moment? Don't the Chargers without you don't even
have to do all sorts of research, Just think back,
think back to highlights of big games the Chargers have
been involved in. And again, this is a team I
picked to go to the Super Bowl. But doesn't it
always seem to come down to a missed kick or
a bad interception by Philip Rivers where you think, man,
(56:12):
what is he throwing too? Or a questionable coaching decision.
It always seems to happen, and the Steelers always, much
like the Chargers, always seem to butcher a game, a
big game late. The Steelers always seem to rebound and
respond after some drama. And there was drama again this week.
Ben Roethlisberger calling out teammates them having to reply, Ben
(56:36):
Roethlisberger doubling down on the controversy, all of that stuff
that went on. I'm not totally comfortable with it, because
I do think the Chargers are a good team, and
in fact, I'm looking forward to this game more than
I was the Thursday night game between the Saints and
the Cowboys. I'm hesitant, but I just trust Pittsburgh in
this spot. More. Give me the Steelers minus the three.
(56:56):
And that is this week's edition of Knox Law. So
that Lamar Jackson rushing attempt from a week ago, come on,
you couldn't, like take one more attempt, Like one more attempt,
that's it, that's all I'm asking for one more attempt.
You wouldn't have thrown two interceptions against the Raiders, all right.
(57:20):
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio, Coming to live here from

a beer? That's Firestone? And I thought Firehouse was like
a sub shop or something. Firehouse subs it is. I
never had Firehouse subs, by the way, I haven't either.
Vince tells me this is another crappy eighties metal band.
(58:24):
The crappy is the word that. That is the word
here by the people, the word of the weekend. Right.
People are writing in going don't be a scrooge, just
enjoy the music, Okay, don't be sensitive. I'm sorry. If
you're a big fan of Winger and you love their

garbage coming up five minutes from now here on Fox
Sports Radio. If you think you know your NFL and
you want to be a part of the program and
you want to showcase your NFL trivia eight seven seven
nine on Fox eight seven seven nine six three six
(59:52):
nine guests that garbage. I have got five trivia questions
in the NFL, all relating to things have happened over
the past couple of days. All right, very easy stuff.
But for some reason, you guys struggle when you get
on the air, you get nervous. So I'm looking for
five brave souls, five people who think they have the balls,
(01:00:12):
the guts, the courage, the uavos to call in and
be a part of guests at Garbage. Eight seven seven
on Fox is the number to call for you. Thank you.
All right. So let's uh, we're talking about the college
football playoff. They're gonna announce the final four, the top
(01:00:34):
the four teams that are going to the playoffs that
will be coming up later on at noon Eastern time,
nine o'clock nine and Pacific time. And so to me,
I think, um, and I was breaking this down earlier,
I said, Look, it's gonna be Alabama, it's gonna be Clemson,
it's gonna be Notre Dame. And I think it's gonna
be Oklahoma. I think Oklahoma has got a couple of
things going for him. One, they were already set up
(01:00:58):
by being placed at number five, because they were put
at five. All they need is for one team ahead
of them to lose, and they're in outside of Alabama.
Because of Alabama lost, I think they would have still
stayed in the top four. Georgia lost, Oklahoma's in two.
If it's all about offense and it's all about entertainment,
like you've been telling me for the past couple of
(01:01:20):
years when I'm preaching, I want more defense. I want
more defense. I like thirteen ten Saints Cowboys. It was
all that offense. How could you not want to see
that Oklahoma offense in the college fotball playoffs? So that's
two and then three. I think the Ohio States scandal
before the season is in the back of the committee's
mind when it comes down to who are we going
(01:01:41):
to reward getting to the college football playoff? All things
being equal, that's a bad look and those are things,
and those are are stories and questions that are gonna
come up when you're trying to have a final four
college football playoff and you're trying to celebrate the four
best teams in the country a core to you. And
then we've got people asking about what Urban Meyer knew
(01:02:03):
about in the Zack Smith scandal and all that stuff.
So I think because of that, Oklahoma is going to
get in. But I was thinking about this, who could
get screwed? Of those four teams, who could get screwed?
And you would think, well, if you're into the final four,
I mean, you're not getting screwed at all. As long
as you're in the final four, as long as you
(01:02:25):
were one of the four teams playing for the national championship,
nobody gets screwed. I think that's wrong. And here's what
I mean by that. Years ago, back in the early days,
the UFC used to have same night tournaments. Okay, so
there's the UFC one, UFC two. It wasn't a bunch
(01:02:46):
of fights on a card with the main event fighting
for a title, No, No, it was a tournament. So
you would fight multiple times in that tournament. And so
the goal, if you were one of the lowest seeds
in the tournament would be to avoid the best guy
for as long as possible so that when you did
(01:03:07):
face him, he was a bit more fatigued. Because it's
one thing if you fight the best fighter straight out
of the gates, but it's another thing if you fight
the best fighter and he's already fought a couple of
times and he's already taken damage like that was the goal.
Avoid them as long as possible, and then hope you
match up with him in the final, be on the
(01:03:28):
easier side of the bracket. Whatever the combination is, fight
that guy the best guy when he's when he's more
fatigued than is he would be if he started out
the night fain started out the night fresh. That would
be the goal. Avoid him for as long as possible.
If you're the other three teams outside of Alabama, your
your goal should be to avoid Alabama for as long
(01:03:50):
as possible, which means you don't want the four seed.
Throw out a hypothetical for you. What if the Committee
in a way punishes Notre Dame for not playing on
Saturday when everybody else did. We all assume the battle
(01:04:12):
is for number four. What if the battle was really
for number three on Saturday. What if the Committee was
looking at all these teams and thinking, look, Notre Dame's
not playing. Everybody else is putting it all on the line.
They're laying it all on the line. Notre Dame is
the only one not playing this week, sitting at home
(01:04:33):
fully rested, only one not playing what if the committee said, look,
this is for the three spot. It's Ohio State and
it's Oklahoma, and the winner is going to go to
the three spot. Conference champion played an extra game, they're
going to the three spot. We don't want to hear
about undefeated Notre Dame. They're sitting at home when everybody
else is playing. Like, both had impressive wins. Oklahoma wasn't
(01:04:57):
win was impressive. Ohio State EASi. He beat Northwestern. It
was closed for a little bit, but they pulled away
and they won. Like, what if the committee says this
is for the three spot and they end up punishing
Notre Dame. Like again, I don't think that's what's going
to happen, but I wouldn't rule that. We've seen crazier things,
(01:05:18):
So there's still the potential. While we all assume, yeah,
we know the three teams that are in Alabama, Clemson,
Notre Dame. You're right, those three teams are in. But
what if the committee still ends up screwing Notre Dame,
not by knocking them out of the top four, but
by putting them at number four, in which they've got
to meet Alabama. That's where I think Notre Dame could
get jobbed in this whole deal. Jonas Knox, Fox Sports
(01:05:40):
Radio Company live here from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Up next we will play guests that garbage NFL trivia
and it's usually a complete disaster that on the way
next year on fs ARE but for all the latest,
Rob Urban, Well, thank you very much, Jonas, and we
do start with college football. We're number one Alabama, solidified
(01:06:01):
at their position atop the polls. They beat number four
Georgia for the SEC championship thirty five to twenty eight.
Number two Clemson rolled through the a SEC title came
beating Pittsburgh forty two to ten. Number five Oklahoma. They
look strong on Saturday, outscoring number fourteen Texas twelve nothing
in the fourth quarter. They win thirty nine. Kyler Murray
(01:06:24):
by the way three seventy nine yards passing three touchdown
passes in the win. Number six Ohio State at win
over number twenty one Northwestern, they win the Big Ten title.

(01:06:47):
WBC champion Deonte Wilder, Well, he had a draw with
Tyson Fury that fight in Los Angeles. Both heavyweights remain undefeated.
What a surprise. They're already talking about a rematch on
the NBA Hardwood Kawhi Leonards thirty four points lifted in Torontoto,
their eighth straight when they beat Cleveland one oh six
ninety five. And speaking about garbage, Jonas, the US men's
(01:07:11):
national team is going to announce their news head soccer coach,
former player Greg Berholter, who has a thirty eight percent
winning percentages in his career. That's garbage, and that guy's
running the program. He will be here. US US soccer stinks.
Oh by the way, yeah, his brother is an executive
in US soccer. Oh man, US soccer stinks, all right,
(01:07:42):
Jonas stocks, Fox Sports Radio. I don't know why I
wanted to rip US soccer. Eisde I don't know why
I feel free. Hey, look, they called me the canman Ralph.
All right, anybody can get it, you know what I mean?
US soccer just got it. By the way, we will
play the weir the weird world of Ralph coming up
in about twelve from now here on Fox Sports Radio. Um,
(01:08:02):
we missed it last hour. In turn, Ralph threw up
gang signs through the studio glass. We were all fearful
for our lives. So we're in. We are decked out
here waiting for the worst from Ralph. But the weird
world of Ralph will be coming up twelve minutes from
now here on Fox Sports Radio right now as we
come to you live here from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio studios, where it's easy to say more on car
(01:08:24):
intrance with Geico go to Geico Dot comical eight under
nine seven Auto. The only hard part figuring out which
way is easier. Right now, it's time for this. Oh
my god, what the hell is that smell? These two
teams flat out stinks. It always has sunk. He stinks,
stinks he welcome to the part of baby. How does
(01:08:45):
that garbage? Yeah, you bet your ass, baby, guess that garbage.
Every week at this time, we go around the country,
sometimes around the world. If people are actually listening in
other parts of the world and they are, look, we
have friends in Australia, Belgium, Port of Art, wherever. That
is all over the place. People who listening to this show. Uh,
we test your basic NFL knowledge. This is easy stuff, easy,
(01:09:09):
all right, We're not we're not doing a master class.
Name all thirty thirty two teams, most successful season, in
the final scores of each game, none of that stuff.
All easy stuff in the NFL that has happened in
the past several days. And we're gonna get it started
with Angel in Arizona here on Fox Sports Radio. Angel,
what's happening? You tell me, man, what's going on that
(01:09:34):
works stock groceries? Nice? Um? Now, Angel, which story do
you work at? Okay, very good? Now what are you
currently stalking right now? Now? Now, we do have a
creuton connoisseur in the house. His name is Iowa Sam Sam.
(01:09:57):
Your thoughts on crutonsious? Uh, garther? The garlic ones parmesan like,
I could actually just eat those and nothing else. It's
better than chips. Yeah, yeah, you know, you know the
problem is though on some of those crutons, if they've
got the brown crust on the side, you bite down
and it cuts the roof of your Mouth's all right,
(01:10:22):
So here we go. We've got Kill in Arizona listening
here on Fox Sports Trading, Angel here's the question for you.
So Thursday night football, the Cowboys beat the Saints. All right,
everybody watched that game, a lot of ratings, a lot
of viewership. Here's the question I have for you, and
I've got it's multiple choice. I want you to listen
to all the options before you answer. Right, all right,
here we go. Who was the starting quarterback the last
(01:10:44):
time the Cowboys won a playoff game? Here are your options.
Is it Troy Aikman, Drew Bledsoe, Tony Romo, Vinny Testa
Verdie or Vinny from Jersey Shore. Oh? Baby, that is correct, Yeah,
that is correct. We will give him the points there.
Being a smartass. Yes, Vinny from Jersey Shore, you know
(01:11:08):
the game. You're a veteran. If you've got the balls
to guess that that fifth scam answer there on Fox
Sports Radio, you get the point. Uh, the real answer
is Tony Romo. Yeah, Tony Romo two thousand fifteen. All right,
if everybody remembers, there was a Dez Bryant issue of
the catch in Green Bay, but that was the divisional round.
(01:11:28):
They beat the Lions in the first game, so so nonetheless,
we'll give you the points there. Let's next go to
Jason in Ottawa listening here on Fox Sports Radio. Jason,
what's happening? Great show? Has always in congratulations on that
Knox locks on the Great Cup last week? Hey Jason,
what did I tell you? Man? How many people do
you know? And again like just for to make me
(01:11:50):
look better, just round up on the number. How many
people do you know? Actually went to the window and
took Calgary minus four in the Great Cup? Based on
my word alone, I would have to stay close to
a million. Yeah, there it is. I told you guys,
you want to make money, listen to this show, all right? Yeah, Jason,
I have a question for you though. On I guess
(01:12:10):
at garbage um with the Saints loss, who now has
the longest winning streak in the NFL? Uh cheeze? That
has to be the Texas. That is correct. You are
on fire, Jason. Not only does he know his CFL,
he knows his NFL. The Houston Texans. Eight straight wins
(01:12:31):
for the Houston Texans. I believe they're playing Are they
finally gonna play on FCS school on hour? Are they
finally playing in FC school? And I wasn't sure the
Houston Texans. George is in l A listening on Fox
Sports trading on the Great A M five seventy l
A Sports. George, what's going on? Man? Just hanging out
doing radio? What are you guys going on now? George? So,
(01:12:57):
do you drive a cab or do you drive Uber
or Lift? Is it just exclusively a cab? Eight? Just
between you and I? Again, there's nobody listening, all right,
you have your secrets safe with me. How many times
have you seen a car with that Uber sticker on
the windshield and you've gone by and slash their tires?
(01:13:19):
That's all right? You gotta yeah, that's probably a good move.
You know there's cameras everywhere. You don't want to get busted. Um,
all right, there we go. I got a true or
false question for you, George. You're ready alright? True or false?
Drew Brees has a losing record in the playoffs? Is
that true or false? That is correct? Well done? Well done?
(01:13:43):
That is fall close. He's seven and six. He's seven
and six, But but well done. You guys are three
for three so far. I am stunned. Let's go out
to Minnesota where Wesley is listening here on Fox Sports
Radio West, say what's going on? Man, what's good, brother,
just hanging out? What are you guys going on in Minnesota?
(01:14:04):
Just watching the snow? All right? I can't really say
that on the air, you know, Wesley. Uh yeah, it's uh,
you know, it's it's Fox Sports Radio. Uh. You know
you're not calling your buddy up ripping crank jokes, you
know through the Uh yeah, Wesley, Let's keep it clean here, babe.
Here's the question for you. So Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy,
(01:14:26):
they're not getting along apparently. Uh, this it's coming to
an end there in Green Bay. This is the question
I have for you, though. Which Mike was Aaron Rodgers
first NFL coach? Right? Which Mike was Aaron Rodgers first
NFL head coach? Multiple options here, I multiple choice. I
want you to listen to all of these before. I
(01:14:48):
want you to listen to all of these before you
take your guests. Come on, man, relax. Which Mike was
Aaron Rodgers first NFL head coach? Here are your options,
Mike McCarthy, Mike Sherman, Mike Holmgren or Mike Roch. I'm
(01:15:10):
gonna have to go with Mike Holmes. And that is incorrect.
It is incorrect. Um, did not follow along with the rules,
cursed on the air, and then you get it wrong. Anyways,
the correct answer is Mike Sherman. Mike Sherman was a
correct answer, probably would give you a point. You would
(01:15:31):
have said, Mike Rotch, probably would have given your points
on that. Uh So, final one here, let's go to
Louisiana where Joe's listening here on Fox Sport Trading. Joe's
what's going on? What's up another man? What are you
doing out the window? Nice? Hey? What's the beer out there?
Is it a beta? Is that what it's called? A beta?
(01:15:52):
I don't know. I don't know. By here? Okay, how's
it looking? Does this smell the the swamp smell? I
don't know. We smelled to it. I mean it's probably
smells like, you know, dollar horror. All right, that's good.
But you know, um, hey, you know, what's the difference
between a two dollar hoho and a three dollar horror? Joe?
(01:16:16):
I don't know, Joe. So here's the question for you.
Ben Roethlisberger. Um, he threw an interception, and then the
week after he was talking about criticizing his teammates and
all that. So but it was a bad interception a
week ago. This is the question. One quarterback in the
NFL has more interceptions than Ben Roethlisberger this season. Who
(01:16:36):
is it? Um gotta do with that, Bob Blake. It's
always a good guest when it comes to this step
and unfortunately is incorrect. Sam Donald is the correct answer,
and with that a three and two performance here on
Guests at Garbage here on Bond Words Radio. Not bad,
(01:16:56):
not great. We'll play again next week, sorry, Jonas Box.
Here on Fox Sports Radio, it's the Weird World of
Ralph coming up next and it's going to be fire.
Here on fs R, Jonahs Knocks Fox Sports Radio. We

ralphie my ass and now the weird world of Ralph.
(01:18:07):
Here we go, Ralfervan, what do we got, well, Jonas,
Let's go back to last week's game between New England
and New York Jets, where Cordarrel Patterson took a handoff
for a one yard game but Henry Anderson lingered a
little bit too long over Patterson, who wasn't thrilled about it,
and he grabbed Anderson's undercarriage and gave it a squeeze.
(01:18:28):
It was well seen all across football. Well, according to
Cordell Corderrel, he did it. Quote the man was all
in my face, trying to put his s in my face.
I tried to move him out of there. I'm a
grown man. I don't need anybody's ass. And we'll call
it p's and carrot in my face man. Today, the
bill came due though. Thirteen thousand, three hundred and sixty
(01:18:50):
is the cost for grabbing another man's junk in the NFL.
It looked like he was bowling. I just had a
whole handful of crotch. There's a whole handful of crotch, man. Uh,
I had no idea Dwight Howard played football. It's weird.
Uh what else you got, Ralph? Well, earlier today, Milwaukee
(01:19:13):
was playing the next of Madison Square Garden and Mario
Hasnia had this steeling dunk. It picks off the bad cuts,
drives it and the stairs and walks over that fall
there from your race the crowd that calls from MSG network.
Do you think Janice was upset about being stepped over? Yeah,
(01:19:38):
he said he would punch him in the stuff next time.
I guess he didn't know how much it cost to
Cornorold Patterson. Last week. Well, that game was in New York, right,
So that's like a New York thing, it is, I
guess the New York thing. Well yeah, but but then
again the Jets playing Jersey. But we'll let us slide.
So that's a New York thing. So so in New York,
if you want to get even with someone, you just
grabbed their crotch, I guess, so you grab their their
(01:20:03):
cash and prizes. So ya, Jana says, you'll do that
next time. Oh, they happen to play on Christmas Day?
All right, tis the season? Yes, chest not roasting on
in open hand, Ralph, Well, you remember back at the
(01:20:25):
World's Cup time we discussed the Russian sex robot hotel.
Oh yeah, that technology is coming to America in the
form of Eve's Robot Dreams, where they say Eves will
have a cafe where guests can come and sit down
with the robots to get to know them. This is
a requirement before spending time in a private setting. That's right.
(01:20:45):
You have to build a relationship with your sex robot
before anything happens. Oh and by the way, I feel
like we can have a really good time together. I
feel like we could even fall in love. Yeah, they're
currently crowdfunding. Wait a second, do you think so they're like, actually,
like these things have emotions, Like that's what this is about.
They're saying they do not, but they're capable of it. Okay,
(01:21:08):
I would test it first night out. Well you know
what you might be able to because it's gonna be
in southern California. Good, I'll be there. We'll do a
remote from there. Uh, here's what I want to do.
Just to make them jealous. All I do is hit
on Surrey the entire night. I just pull out my
phone and say, Surrey, uh, pull up Bumble or something
(01:21:29):
like that, just to see what these robots are all about.
Ralph's girl. Come on, Ralph, I mean, do you have
to be such a maniac? Well, that's what you're saying
to get the robots jealous. And this is okay. The
wide world, weird world of Ralph is now turned into
the womanizing world of Ralph. I'm disgusted by it. So
we'll get back into the NFL and we'll do it
next here on Fox Sports Radio. So gross, Ralph. We
(01:21:52):
got major stories going on in the NFL, everybody fighting
for a playoff spot. Plus we've got one team you
probably thought their season was over, as it turns out
it's not. There's still the potential for a team that
you have mocked all year long to make the playoffs.
I'll explain who that is coming up throughout the course
(01:22:15):
of the next several minutes here on Fox Sports Radio.
Jonas knocks here on fs are you check out the

in the NFL coming up on Sunday, jam Pack by
weeks are gone, which means there's a ton of games
going on, all sorts of things to pay attention to,
and I want to start with what I think is
(01:22:58):
the game of the day, and actually I think the
game of the week. A lot of people were pretty
impressed and pretty pleased with Thursday Night Football. I was.
I love the idea of defense making an appearance on
a nationally televised game that was fun to watch. Thirteen ten.
I was raised on that kind of football. I've talked
about it before. That's what I grew up on. I
was good with it. So thirteen ten a defensive battle
(01:23:22):
on Thursday Night. I was happy about it, and people
were really excited for that game, and the ratings were
through the roof. To me, the game of the weekend
is Chargers Steelers, And I was saying this earlier. I
love the Chargers, I really do. I picked them to
go to the super Bowl. I think they're really talented.
I think they got a quarterback. They've got a couple
of nagging injuries that are happening now. Um you know,
(01:23:45):
Melvin Gordon being banged up is not a good thing.
But they do have a depth there, and I think
they've got the potential to to actually make a run
in the a f C playoffs. The problem with the
Chargers is I just can't trust him in these spots.
And that's why in one of my Knox locks where
I go around and I make several picks in the NFL,
I ended up taking the Steelers minus the three points.
(01:24:07):
I'm not crazy about it, because I do like the
Chargers that much. But it doesn't it seem like don't
don't You just seem to recall every time the Chargers
have got a big spot or a big opportunity, or
there's a chance to make a statement game or come
up with a statement win, they either miss a field
goal or Rivers throws an interception and you're looking around, going,
(01:24:28):
what the hell's he throwing at that's why he's not
a Hall of Famer, or or there's a poor coaching decision,
like there's just always something with the Chargers, And so
here they are in a big spot and they're going
against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I was hesitant to pick Pittsburgh,
but I'm gonna take them because I just don't know
that I can trust the Chargers, and I really, really,
really like the Chargers. The Steelers, on the other hand,
(01:24:53):
they always seem to respond whenever there's sort of a
drama or controversy or anything like that, they always seem
to bounce back, Like if there's any sort of friction
in the locker room or the the anthem debate that
went on last year, or Levy on Bell or you know,
Ben Roethlisberger calling out teammates again, like he always says,
(01:25:14):
they always seem to respond, and they always seem to
bounce back. And one of the big topics of conversation
this week was Ben Roethlisberger calling out his teammates again.
And everybody assumes that it's a poor choice by Ben Roethlisberger.
We all assume and even though, Roethlisberger doubled down on
(01:25:34):
it and he said, listen, I've earned the right. I've earned,
you know, like I've I've earned the right to be
able to criticize who I want to criticize on this team.
And it's that's fair. He's been there a long time.
But it's funny when you talk to NFL players and
they look at it from such a simple point of view,
and it makes you re evaluate what we're actually talking about.
(01:25:55):
And that's why it's great talking to players when you
can actually get them to open up and be honest
about a certain situation, because once you do, you kind
of you kind of look back and you realize, you know,
that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense now
that I think about it, that that wouldn't make a
whole lot of sense. So let's picture this. Ben Roethlisberger
calls that teammates. We all assume that's that's just terrible
(01:26:19):
to do. You don't call out your teammates in public.
What's wrong with you? Ben? What are you doing? Why
do you want to create that sort of controversy in
your locker room? Like what's wrong with you? And then
on yesterday's show I had on David Anderson, former NFL
wide receiver played in the league for a long time
for several teams and a bunch of quarterbacks the Texans,
the Redskins, uh played with the Broncos, And I asked
(01:26:42):
Dave his thought on this situation since he was a
former wide receiver and there's a quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger
calling out his wide receivers again, and he made me
think about it in a way that I hadn't considered before.
And now that I I once you hear this from Dave,
I think you're going to think about it in a
different way as well, too. You know what, Like first
(01:27:02):
I used to get really frustrated. Now I think it's
almost you know where Jordan used to call Tip in
and used to call like Tony Coo coach and call
him bums and practice and stuff like. I think it's
like his kind of attempt to like kind of ruffle
their feathers a little bit, because you you have to
imagine the guy talks to them multiple times a day.
They're in the same huddle, so it's not like he
(01:27:23):
can get it's like you can say this and get
away from it, like he's literally saying this in the morning.
They hear about in the afternoon, and then they have
to go practice and he's talking to these guys in
the huddle like there there's no escape from the awkward
conversations or something. So this has got to be something known.
I don't want to say rehearsed, but it's definitely something known.
(01:27:44):
And he's probably told them to their I would like
to think he said to their face before he said
to them and spot on and and and it made
it just so it was so clear to me what's happening.
It was like a moment of Claire, like, you know what,
that's that's a good point. I didn't even think about
it like that. We all just assume that if you
call out somebody in public, and you're calling out a teammate,
you're just a bad guy. We don't factor in the
(01:28:07):
different things that go on in the locker room there
and how that would happen. Like it just it wouldn't
make sense. If it was such a problem, why does
he keep doing it? If they had such an issue
with it, why does it keep happening. I don't think
they mind it. I think it is a way that
he tries to motivate him. Phil Jackson did it for years.
(01:28:29):
Phil Jackson always took a shot at somebody in public.
He always did it. There are certain places where you
can do that, and it just a sort of part
for the course. Bill Parcels used to call out Lawrence Taylor.
Lawrence Taylor one of the great most dominant defensive players
all the time. If you ever hear Lawrence Taylor till
(01:28:51):
he's a man. Bill just knew how to get to me.
He knew how to make me respond, and so he
would find something each game to get me motivated, and
he would call me out and it would piss me off,
but it always got me motivated. You could probably look
at Bill Parcels and say, Mike, Man, what are you doing.
You're picking on the guy. Just let him play. But
he knew how to motivate him. I think Roethlisberger knows
(01:29:14):
how to motivate those guys. He knows how to get
him motivated, so that's why he does it. This isn't
like a Seattle situation where you've got Richard Sherman and
members of the defense, but most notably Richard Sherman, who
not only were they not fans of Russell Wilson while
he was in Seattle, even when he goes to play
(01:29:35):
Russell Wilson after the fact, when he's on a San
Francisco forty niner team, that's a playing with C. J.
Bethard and Nick Mullins. If anybody would appreciate the quarterback
position and appreciate what Russell Wilson was during the course
of his career, it would be Richard Sherman, who is
(01:29:56):
playing with a guy by the name of Nick Mullins
and C. J. Bethard. And what did Richard Sherman do
this week? Pointed out all the times Russell Wilson through
interceptions and all the bad plays he made, and like,
like that is toxic. What's happening in Pittsburgh. It's just Pittsburgh.
We all assume that it's bad for the locker room.
(01:30:16):
It's wrong. And so I didn't even think about it
like that that there was another um aspect to it
until Dave pointed it out. And that's a guy who's
been in locker rooms, who has been a wide receiver. Uh,
And even he said it himself. Look, it used to
really bother me, and now you start to get it
so I think we made a lot of it because
it's the Steelers, and we just assume, man, you're not
(01:30:37):
supposed to be calling out your teammates like that. You're
supposed to be squeaky clean. It's similar to the to
the Baker Mayfield stuff got Baker Mayfield calling out his coach.
You're not supposed to do that, well, says who like.
You find different ways to get yourself going, You find
different ways to motivate yourself. And Ben Roethlisberger does it
a different way in Pittsburgh. It's why none of those
(01:30:59):
guys have have been that upset with it, because I
think they understand what he's trying to do. Jonas knocks
Fox Sports Radio. Uh, the other thing here, Um, we've
got some some bad news into some good news, alright.
So the bad news is, uh Kareem hunt and the
video that came out for the Kansas City Chiefs tmz
(01:31:21):
uh physically physical altercation with a woman, kicked her on
the ground. So the Kansas City Chiefs are saying that
the NFL told them to stop pursuing the video, right,
so here we go, fingerpointing is started. The Chiefs are
saying the NFL told us stop pursuing the video. Um,
people are trying to figure out why TMZ was able
(01:31:42):
to get the video but the NFL wasn't. And and
my thought on it was, maybe it's something as simple
as the NFL just didn't feel like they should have
to pay for a video in order to find out
whether or not one of their players assaulted a woman.
All right, so let's just think about that for a minute.
The NFL, the all I D NFL, is haggling over
(01:32:02):
the price of a video, and because the price got
too high for the NFL, they decided they're not going
to pursue the video any longer or pay for it.
They're just gonna let it slide and let TMZ come
out with it because as long as they don't have
to pay extra for it, they're willing to take the backlash.
Is that what we're talking about here. The NFL just
(01:32:23):
didn't want to pay for the video. That's why they
didn't have access to it. Because that's the case. What
the F man, you're not You're not buying shoes at
a garage sale. How many times you warn it, three
or four, I'll give you twenty five bucks. Listen the
sticker says thirty, and that's my final offer. The sticker
(01:32:45):
says thirty. I'm out of here, all right, walk home barefoot,
have fun with that step on a nail? What are
you doing? The NFL is haggling prices over a video,
but one of their players assaulting a woman. So if
that's the case, that's that's crazy. But Kareem Hunt is
set to talk at ESPN later on this morning, so
there's that going on. But that bad news leads to
(01:33:05):
this good news. The Oakland Raiders playoff bound. What you're
talking about? Oakland Raiders playoff No, no, no, no, no, no, no,
not kidding. The Oakland Raiders could still make the playoffs, right,
still make the playoffs. Now, I have got the game's here, okay,
(01:33:31):
on a on a big piece of paper. I've got
all the things that need to go right for the
Oakland Raiders in order to make the playoffs. All right,
So all of these things have to go right for
the Raiders to make the playoffs. Let me go ahead
and uh and unveil this list to you here. M
(01:34:04):
m hmm. They need thirty four games to go their
way in order to make the playoffs. Here's how it
goes coming up this weekend in the NFL. All they
need to do is beat the Chiefs, you know, fourteen
point underdogs. What could go wrong? Uh, they need the
Jaguars to beat the Colts. They need the Falcons to
beat the Ravens, the Jets to beat the Titans, the
Dolphins to beat the Bills, the Broncos to beat the Bengals,
(01:34:25):
and the Texans to beat the Browns. Not outside of
the realm of possibilities. But they need all of those
things to happen, and then several more things to go
on in week fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen thirty four
games to go their way, and they are playoff bound
in Oakland. For all of you gruten haters, put that
(01:34:48):
in your pipe and do you know what with it? All? Right?

(01:35:10):
is next year on Fox Sports Radio, Jonas knocks Fox
Sports Radio. I know, man, I like Smashing Pumpkins. Listen,
I like Smashing pump and I'm good with Smashing Pumpkins. Um,
I'm not so sure about this. This isn't appear to
(01:35:32):
you that anytime, like some great band does a cover
of a Christmas song, they just lose credibility. Yeah, what
are you doing? I'm just trying to keep in you know,
I'm not saying you. I'm not saying you. I'm saying
like these bands, but like, what are they doing? Yeah?
The royalties you get for like that Mariah Carey song. Um,
all I want for Christmas is you you know how
much money she's probably made on that song. Like if
(01:35:52):
you just if you do one of those songs. Now,
we gotta be careful. We're talking music right now and
coming up next hour, Brian Note takes over and Ryan
No Fox Sports Radio host. Um, his philosophy on music
is unless you wear all black and unless it's something
that you could get a T shirt of that hot topic,
(01:36:12):
it's not good. So you gotta be careful when you're
talking music because he will be very critical. All right,
you will be very critical. But yeah, if you could
just if you could bang out one classic holiday song
just never work again, like that that who's that? What's
that the singer of the rocking around? Like what that
lady who sounds like she's bombed. She's like been, she's
(01:36:33):
got an ivy of eggnog? What singer is that? The
rocking around? Like? Whoever that is? She's just pretty much
half asking that song. She's not even really singing all
the way through. She just sounds like she's on a
roller coaster, like she's like quivering while she's doing it. Like,
let's you got it? Brenda Lee the Christas Tree, Yeah,
(01:36:54):
that's the classic one. Like she's like, if you just
listen to that song, but it just sounds like she's
like on the teacups at Disneyland. She's not even like
to like there, Yeah, Like she's not even like come
on it, just half asking it. But it's great. Never
worked another day in her life, just just piped out
that song. Let her rip, and every holiday season she
(01:37:17):
cashes in on the royalties. I'm telling you that's a move. Alright,
are we on the air by the way, uh coming
up and about less than ten minutes from now here

this is a final week before fantasy football playoffs. Um,

Normally we do uh all NFL this hour, but the
college football playoff rankings are going to come out at
noon Eastern time, nine o'clock Pacific, and it's gonna come
out before all the NFL games kick off at one
Eastern time. And my whole thought on it was, um,
(01:38:24):
because this important obviously the final four for college football.
But my old thing is Oklahoma's gonna get in there.
Gonna be the four seed. Right, So what I think
is gonna happen is Oklahoma is gonna get in get
the four seed, and um, and I've talked about, you know,
how Notre Dame could actually get screwed. I don't think
that's gonna happen. But is it outside the realm of
(01:38:44):
possibility that Notre Dame gets screwed? Not that they get
kicked out of the top four, but what if Notre
Dame gets dropped to number four because they didn't play
this weekend and now all of a sudden, you line
up against Alabama the first week the the the whole
object is for you to have white Alabama as long
as possible. And I wouldn't put it outside the realm
(01:39:05):
of possibility that the committee punishes, so to speak, Notre
Dame for not playing a conference championship game and drops
him to four. Again, I don't think it's gonna happen,
but just throwing out hypotheticals, right, like what we could
see as far as any sort of combination with the
College wall playoff, and that's what makes us fun. But
here's uh, here's the one thing that I am hoping
(01:39:29):
for a right we used to do a segment on
the show here called what do I Think? What do
I want? Right? There are certain things in sports that
I think are going to happen, But if I had
my choice, this is what I would want to happen. Okay,
So I want to put that to the test with
the college football playoff. Okay, what I think is going
to happen. Here's what I think is going to happen.
(01:39:51):
I think Alabama is going to be one. I think
Clemson is going to be two. I think Notre Dame
is gonna be three, and I think Oklahoma is going
to be four. I think Oklahoma gets number four because
I think Oklahoma just based on a couple of different
things that have happened this season, and before the season one,
they were placed at five, so they were in pole
(01:40:13):
position to take over if Georgia lost Alabama. Okay, so
once they were put at five, to me, Oklahoma was
on the fast track to get into the top four. Two.
If this is all about offense, and you're telling me
that offenses everything, and you've been telling me for a
couple of years that offense is the most important thing
(01:40:34):
and it's what draws people to the television to me,
how do you leave Oklahoma out of it? If you
want excitement, if you want an exciting offense, put Oklahoma
in like that's the team you want to get there.
Now the counter to that as well, you know, but
urban Meyers the big name and big names draw people
to television, so listen, big names will get you there,
(01:40:54):
but urban Meyers not playing. It's like pay per view.
It's like the pay per view model. And in boxing
or the UFC or whatever, like, you need a big
name to sell the fight to get you to the fight,
But it doesn't mean the fight's going to be any good.
We know, if Oklahoma gets to the college football playoffs,
they're gonna put up points that that offense is phenomenal.
(01:41:16):
The committee has already spoken about how great the offense was,
even though the defense hasn't been very good. So I
think that's another reason. Then. Also, I said this a
couple of weeks ago. If you think somebody on the committee,
if if all things being equal, and they look at
Oklahoma and they look at Ohio State and they say, man,
both these teams are so close it's too close to call.
If you think nobody on the committee is going to
(01:41:38):
bring up the idea of maybe it wouldn't be the
best look for our sport to have a guy who
was involved in a scandal and suspended the first couple
of games of the season playing for all the marbles
just a couple of months later in the scandal was
Zack Smith and Irvin Meyer. If you think that stuff
is not going to be factored into it, you're just
being naive. Like I think that is a real factor here.
(01:42:03):
If everything's equal and everything's close, that's a real factor
as to why Ohio State's gonna get left out. And
it's why I brought it up a couple of weeks
ago here on the show. But here's um, that's what
I think is gonna happen. Oklahoma's gonna get the four spot,
So Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame in Oklahoma. That's what I
think is going to happen. Here's what I want to happen,
(01:42:25):
because it's gonna piss most of you off, and I
love the chaos and I think there's an argument for this.
What I want to happen is for Georgia to get
the four seed. That's what I want to happen. For
the three seed, Notre Dame gets stropped to four whatever,
But I want Georgia into the college Football Playoff because
(01:42:46):
it's going to bother so many of you, and it's
going to piss so many of you off that I
just want to sit back, kick my feet up, have
a couple of ConA beers from Hawaii, and just watch
all of you go down in flames on social media
with your outrage. I I can't get enough of it.
I can't like And here's and this is the reality
(01:43:08):
of it. How you could watch Georgia and Alabama even
if you're an SEC hater, even if you can't stand
the SEC and you hate everything about him, and you
don't like the conference, and you don't like Nick Saban
and you don't like Alabama and roll damn tied and
burned down in poison trees and throw toilet paper, even
if you don't like any of that stuff, How could
(01:43:28):
you not watch the last two matchups between Alabama and
Georgia and think, well, those are you know, the best
matchup and the best games I've seen in recent years.
But those are awesome matchups. Look, george is one of
the four best teams in the country. Like, you can't
come away from Saturday, even in the loss, and say
George is not one of the four best teams in
(01:43:49):
the country. Now again, I don't think they're gonna get in,
but I want them to get in because it's probably
gonna piss you off, and to me, that's entertaining. I
just want to watch the car That's all I want.
And here's the other thing for all you SEC haters
out there. You know who really doesn't want George in
the playoff? You know who really hopes that I'm right
(01:44:13):
and it's Oklahoma and it's not George in the playoff.
You know who doesn't want to see Georgia in the playoffs? Alabama,
because George has had them on the ropes the past
two seasons. Two years in a row, Georgia had a
game against Alabama one and bleeped it away. The game
on Saturday was set up for Georgia. You had an
(01:44:35):
injury advantage two, it was out, you had a backup
quarterback come in, You had a questionable decision on the
fake punt late, and then you had a missfield goal
by a really reliable kicker. There were a lot of
things that had to go wrong for Georgia to lose
that game, and all of them went wrong. The game
(01:44:56):
was there for Georgia. So for SEC hater is out
there who were just hoping to God that we don't
get two teams in the college football Playoff again, trust me,
Alabama is on your side because the last thing they
want is to see Georgia. But again, I don't think
it's gonna happen, but I wanted to because it's gonna
piss so many people off. All Right, Jonas knocks Fox

Alabama thirty five after blowing a fourteen point second half lead.
Number two Clemson, they had no troubles in the SEC
title game, babied Pittsburgh two to ten. Number five Oklahoma
made their case by outscore ring number fourteen Texas twelve
(01:46:01):
nothing in the fourth quarter. They win the Big twelve
title thirty nine seven Ohio State. They are at number
six and likely in the outside looking in. They did
beat number twenty one Northwestern for the Big ten titletwenty four.

about twelve minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio,
we'll get our weekly visit from the prop bet Monster
Here on FS are Vince Close, our executive producer here
at Fox Sports Radio. So who's the delinquent? Who are
the deadbeats that haven't paid their tab with the profet Monster?
You know, I have to go back and look at
past weeks, but I know that Mike Harmon is our
(01:48:13):
big loser this week. He is money to the helmet
for at least this week. The way he that was
the most gampantick he's been on a microphone, appeared distrest
and then he does the throat slash gesture. Yeah it
was that little voodoo doll came out. He started going
(01:48:34):
at it like he had a pick axe. I'm gonna
have to go after him like the kidden better off dead.
Where's my two dollar? No, just no dollars, no class.
So it was so a little backstory here we do
the prop at Monster, we make up our own profits um,
and then whoever doesn't win has to chip in a
dollar each week, and so there's gonna be a big
right now. Everybody on the show thinks that the prop
(01:48:55):
at Monster is just a lot of fun, Like I
don't care if I win, I'll throw in a dollar
just for the last The only us that takes it
serious Ralph Bleeping Urban. Oh yeah no, he's sending a
screenshot like like Ralph's sending He's like going through the
mall and taking pictures of this is what I'm going

propet Monster for a month in I came back going money.
(01:49:17):
Did you see him when he came down the hall?
Because he won this week he was swaggering all over
the place. Was surprised. It's called greatness. He tworked, Ralph tworked. Well,
here's the thing as the propet monster. For those that
haven't heard it, it gets a little cheeky. Yeah, you know,
as we definitely and so so some of us said
(01:49:39):
times will take the cheeky option, just wishing, wanting, hoping
like kids on Christmas morning. Yeah, hoping that that toys
under there and knowing that it's probably not gonna be

All right, just Lexi Pantera. Feast your eyes and then

just think of but get your dog, get your dog
out of the studio, Ralph. All right, Mike Carmon is here.

and stabbed me. And there's Jonas Knocks and all his
glory here. I'm straight with people staggering home. There's a
there's a man who's been up all night working hard
for you. Damn. Straight's what we do here, grinding away
in the coal mines of sports talk radio. All right,
Mike Carmen, let's get started. We've got a fantasy football
(01:50:40):
This is a crucial week, right because this is the
week before playoffs for a lot of teams. This is
it for a lot of leagues, the final week of
the regular season. And and yeah, chaos ensued on Friday,
throw things up in the air, and so the Kareem
Hunt news he's done. Um, now, I I caught what
I kind of did something kind of is probably a
dirty move, but I caught wind of the what was
(01:51:01):
going to happen, and so I hit up the guy
in my league who has Kareem Hunt and said, on
the side, because we have a big group text message,
and I said, on the side, is said, hey, go
grab Spencer wear because I'm already out of it. My
team stinks. Go grab Spencer wear. He did, And then
everybody started questioning on the group chain, well, how did
(01:51:22):
he just randomly grab Spencer wear in the morning. I
do that. So I used a little bit of my
intel to to to help help a brother out and
and help one of my buddies out. But I did
that because that means that there's someone in that league
you absolutely despise. So for me, it's great subterfusion and chaos.
I love that that is speak to you getting cut right?
(01:51:46):
Probably not, but but here's here's what I'm asking is,
so now that happens, I don't think this is just
a well now it falls on Spencer wear Who else
is that effect on that offense? Who goes up, who
goes down? What happens to that chief offense? If you
want one of those players, it's Uh, there's a lot
of onus on on Patrick Mahomes to be great and
(01:52:06):
maybe on some of these plays where he's been dancing
and waiting and waiting, he actually takes off and runs
a little bit more because they're gonna need a little
more balanced. Tyreek Hill has been a huge target. We
talked about him on Friday, I know you. We talked
to Jason Smith and I in terms of Hey, Kansas
City getting all lauded for doing the right thing. Hey
what about what about the the elephant in the room.
(01:52:27):
There's there's still Tyreek Hill uh to talk about. But
double digit targets in every game that Sammy Watkins has
either been limited or missed. So this the week, obviously
it's the Raiders. It's a two touchdown plus spread. Uh,
even with Hunt out, so Spencer wears a back end
number one this week. Some rough going ahead. The schedule
will not be kind, uh in a couple of these spots.
(01:52:48):
But you're looking at an opportunity here for things to
turn along, and and the defense has not been good,
so Oakland will put up some points push things. But
I think long term, you know, people banking on Spencer
where to get get them over thirty six total touches
this year and a guy that was a stop gap
remember when things went went awry a couple of years ago.
So uh, if they thought he was the guy and
(01:53:10):
was going to be recovered and gonna be all fine,
he would have been never Kareem Hunt would have never
shown up in Kansas City. So to think that he's
suddenly gonna be top five plays already, this is probably
gonna be a bad question. So I apologize in advance,
but I am curious because you've been doing this for
a long time. By the way, My Carmen Fox Sports
Radio Fantasy Football Insider with us here on fs are
(01:53:31):
bye weeks are done? Yeah, this is the week to
determine whether or not you get into the playoffs Fantasy
football wise, do you have any general advice for people
out there now that bye weeks are over? I think
bye weeks kind of make decisions easier because if somebody
can't play, you know who you're going to play. But
do you have any general advice for people out there?
Do you lean towards on the open market a player
(01:53:52):
coming off a bye week? Uh? Do you do you
lean towards a guy um who who who just had
a bye week recently? Do you stay away from those
teams who've got players who haven't had a week off
since Week five when bye weeks first started? Like? How
do you factor that in a little bit of of
all of that? I mean, depending on track record? Right
for Kansas City, we know Andy Reid always does well
(01:54:14):
coming out of a bye right sixteen and three, So
we can guarantee they're gonna win this game. It's just
a question of how much, uh they beat the Raiders
buy unless some some locker room implosion happened we're not
aware of. But yeah, the the guys that had bye
weeks in week four, week five, look at those last
four weeks. They're probably dragging ass a little. That's that's
what I mean. So so you've got a little bit
of that. We'll get into last four weeks when Dan
(01:54:35):
Buyer and I hit the years here airways at six
o'clock here a Pacific time. So you've got a little
bit of that that certainly lags, and then you're playing
the matchups. But you know, it's the old adage of
dance with who brung you don't overthink it. This is
the week that everybody overthinks their lineups because right, Drew
Brees wasn't the greatest match up against Dallas. Dallas has
been a pretty damn good defense. As much as we've
(01:54:57):
mocked Jason Garrett and everything that's going on, they've done
a pretty good job. And Vanderes should become one of
the darlings of the second half of the year. So
when Drew Brees gets taken down, not shocked, but you
weren't gonna bench him right, You're not gonna say, all right,
you can't solve the Dallas defense. That would have been
a classic overthinking kind of moment. And in one matchup
(01:55:20):
that I'm playing for, I got to two leagues, the
expert leagues whatever dopes that throw darts at a board.
I've got one one league where I played Drew Brees,
he got me all of seven points. And the other
league I played against Drew Brees who got me all
of seven points. So shuffle up and deal. Last one
from my Carmen Fox Sports Radio Fantasy football insider. Quickly,
we get a ninja pick from you every single weekend
(01:55:42):
on the show. All right, So this is um and
I think this this is where every point counts. You
need every point that counts. We know what the quarterbacks are,
wide receivers, running backs, tight ends, et cetera. Give me
a couple of sleeper defenses. All right, defenses who you think,
in a good spot here could actually rack up a
few points. That could be the difference between making the
(01:56:04):
playoffs and not making the payoff playoffs. For a lot
of people out there listening here on Fox Sports Radio,
I really thought you were going kickers there for no
tricked me. I'll say that for the playoffs. About Buffalo
going up against Miami, Buffalo sneaky good defensively, Ryan Tannehill
back under center, always good for throw one or two up.
Indianapolis defense has been solid at Jacksonville, so we can
(01:56:26):
throw them up as your number two. And then green Bay,
who's been so hit or miss right. We've talked a
lot about Clay Matthews when snow and winds green Bay
going against Josh Rosen. You had Arizona with a bad
offensive line figure they released the hounds on him. There
he is Mike Carmen, Fox Sports Radios Fantasy football insider.
Get him on Twitter at Swollen Dome. You can hear
(01:56:46):
him and Dan Buyer nine to eleven am Eastern time
here on a Fox Sports Radio six to eight Pacific.
Check it out. It's a huge week in fantasy football,
so make sure again nine am Eastern time. My car
and Dan Buyer here Fox Sports Radio. One of the
best fantasy football shows you'll ever hear anywhere. All Right,
Jonas Knocks here from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
(01:57:09):
Up next the prop Bet Monster here on FSR. Yeah, Baby,
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. Come to you Alive from
the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. Ten minutes from now
here on fs are Andy Furman and Brian, No, we'll
take over here at fs ARE. It's been a quiet
week on social media for Rany Furman, if by quiet
(01:57:34):
you mean harassing every station in Cincinnati because all they
did was ball washed the Bengals after they crapped their
pants and threw up on themselves against the Browns last weekend. Unbelievable.
To make sure you stick around for that right now
though here on Fox Sports Fox Sports Radio, it is
time we do it every single week for a visit
(01:57:54):
from our dear friend here, defeat your degenerate gambling. So
Philip rop bet Munsters, Chargers and Steelers. Who commits the
(01:58:15):
first turnover? Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers or neither? Oh, I
will go. I don't think it'll be Roethlisberger, all the
trash he talked. I think he's gonna play well if
you can always count on Rivers. I'm gonna go with neither, though,
I'll say somebody other than Roethlisberger or Rivers is going
to commit the first turnover my car. I like that.
(01:58:36):
I'm gonna take Roethlisberger, though on a strip sack Iowa Sam,
I'm gonna say Philip Rivers. Arm is frozen in an
ice block by the time he comes out there and
he turns it over, and that's just an f you
to your roommate, and I'm offended by it. He's offended.
I could see him, Vince, what say you? I'm gonna
go with neither. I want to go with Roethlisberger, but
I'm gonna go with neither. Ralph Urban, Ben Roethlisberger turnover
(01:58:58):
and every per game this year. Next up, which does
NBC show first a Promanti Brother sandwich, highlights from the
Chargers Steelers a FC Championship game, former Steeler Jeff Reid drunk,
or the video of the Charger security guard playing with
himself on the sidelines. Give me option four? Please? What
(01:59:19):
somebody show that guy shuffling his skin cards one more
time on national TV. I'll take option four. Harvard, What
do you got? Can you shuffle with your left hand? Yeah?
I don't know. I've never tried. It's gonna be the sandwich. Sorry,
I was am gotta take the security guard, Yes you
(01:59:41):
have to, yeah, especially uh since that was you of it.
I'm in it to win it. So I'm going with
the highlight from the Charger Steelers a f C championship games.
Ralph Urban Sandwich Redskins at Eagles. What do Eagle fans
(02:00:03):
target first during the game? Jason Witten, the Booger mobile
or a police horse. Wow, this is tough because they
assaulted multiple police horses last year. They hate Jason Witten
because he's a former cowboy and the Booger mobile pisses
everybody off. I'm gonna go Jason Witten. I'm gonna take
(02:00:26):
the Booger mobile like it's one of those moving carnival games.
Any just put a target on all right, I would say,
what do you got that golf cart that booger McFarland
finds himself on. Now, Yeah, it's the Booger mobile. Man,
it's a golf cart or a Mars Rover? Okay, Vince,
what do you got that stupid booker? All right? Ralp Urban,
(02:00:48):
it should be a pop mobile this week, it's gonna
get Pelton Jesus. Next, which highlight of a former player
who played for both the Redskins and the Eagles will
be shown first. Donovan McNabb, de Sean Jackson, Brian Mitchell
or James Thrash. All right, we don't have time to
(02:01:08):
hear it. Yeah, we don't. I'll go, what happened? Did
he get another? Was that call waiting? Did somebody call in?
I'll go. James Thrash just gonna. I like the name Thrash.
Away go. Brian Mitchell, all right, Iowa Sam, because he's
still relevant to Sean Jackson. Vince, I'm also going to
Sean Jackson, Ralph Irvan Donovan. Al Right, there we go,
(02:01:30):
and that is this week's edition of the propet Monster.
Been a fun show. One of Thank Vince, Iowa, Sam,
Ralph Irvan, Mike Harmon for hanging out. Brian No Andy
Furman are next year on Fox Sports Radio. Jonas knock S,
thanks so much. Enjoy the games, uh and get hammered.
