There is a unique struggle that Christian father's face in today's world. The goal of this podcast is to support and encourage these fathers, empowering them to LEAD their families with unwavering love, unshakeable faith, and integrtiy. Through pracrtical advice, spiritual guidance, and stories from other dads, I hope to help dads deepen their connection with God, fortify their roles within the family, and gracefully navigate the trials and tribulations of fatherhood. I hope to be a companion on your journey of FAITH and FAMILY as we grow together.
For some of us, we never had that moment where we were ushered from boyhood to manhood, and not getting that affirmation sometimes leads to us looking for it in unhealthy ways.
My guest Steven Arms and his family have crafted a rite of passage that they have done in their family and I believe this is a message that will help us dads with sons prepare them and equip them to be men of stature.
Hope you enjoy this episode.

I had the honor of sitting with Nick Adams to discuss his book that is out now, and his story.
His story is truly impactful and its amazing to see how God has Fathered him and worked in his life.
This book is a testament to men who may have had a tough or traumatic upbringing that there is hope, and God does Father the fatherless.

As first generation Christian fathers we will in no doubt have battles to face. Because the walk of christianity is new there will be a lot of things that we learned growing up, a lot of battles our parents couldn't have fought because simply. they knew not the battle they were in.
I was feeling discouraged and at the end of the day I just wanted tto get a Lego set and build. Why? Often times, I wish my faith my life was like a lego set. Do X,Y and Z and this will be the outcome, how I wish things worked like that, but God has better and bigger things in mind then simple to-do list.
"Ignorant people in preppy clothes are more dangerous to America than oil embargoes." V.S. Naipaul
There is so much confusion in America on the idea of masculinity and if the America is confused you better believe that our children can get caught up in that confusion.
As Dads and leaders of our family we have to be the ones to model masculinity and bestow masculinity to our sons.

Lately I've found myself saying to my kids "I can't", or "I've got to do..." so busy that I can't do that one thing that i should not be to busy to do and that is hang out with my kids. Getting caught in the busyness of the day can happen to any of us and just want to share in my journey in hopes that it helps you in yours.
One of the most challenging things we can do is pray and not just pray over our family but pray out loud and with out family. In this episode I share a praise report on prayer and how it is changing and shaping my family.

I'm taking from the book "The Fruit of the Spirit" by Leroy Brownlow. This book has really been amazing and it has good insights on the fruits of the spirit. I take passages from the book and reflect on my own experiences in walking with God and leading my family.
Personal development is good, but if not tread carefully can lead down a pretty treacherous path. Proceed with caution. This is really just my experience as a personal development recovering addict.
The hardest and easiest thing to do is to just sit with God, but why can't we do it?
I also share a moment of Fathering by God as I father my own children.

Happy New Year Gents! Things are going to look different for the podcast and HeartWorking Dad. Hoping this is a year of less of me and more of Him.
Took a long break and coming back to start again. I honestly didn't know if I was going to continue, but I've been encouraged to keep going. This episode was recorded during the break and I went back and forth on whether to publish, but here it is.
Proverbs 10:28 "The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish."
So often I struggle with this as husband and father. One leads to peace while the other leads to frustration and overwhelm.
How can we as Christian dads cultivate a heart of gratitude in our children?

I watched ESPN 30 on 30 and it was about the boxer Tommy Morrison, most know as Tommy Gunn from Rocky 5.
He had a tragic life, but one that could of been a lot different had his dad led him differently. It made me think of the impact we have as fathers to our children and how vital our example and leadership is needed in guiding our families.
Gratitude can be one of the most simple yet overlooked qualities in men and in the family home. We live in an age where we have so much, that we take for granted the simple. We get in the rat race and try competing with the neighbors on who has the nicest stuff and fancy cars.
