It’s Christmas Day in 1999! Once you were done opening presents and eating food, Hollywood had three very solid and enjoyable options for you to choose from at the cinema. Matt Damon was a liar, Tom Cruise was a sexist, and Tim Allen was a fictional space captain.

It’s the Wednesday before Christmas, and Shane takes a look at the two films released today. “Man on the Moon” is one of the rare biopics that Shane doesn’t hate – while “Any Given Sunday” is an American Football film that Shane just despises all around, especially for how he sees himself represented in Willie Beamen.

Getting closer to Christmas in 1999, and it’s time to get some family friendly films out into the cinemas. Robin Williams takes us on the 200 year journey of a robot becoming human, and Michael J. Fox voices a mouse in the middle of an all-star cast of voices and actors.

Shane gets straight to the point in this holiday-hangover-arthouse entry. He avoids too many tangents, and gets straight to the point about two lesser known and barely remembered films from 1999. Shane breaks down all the parts of “The End of the Affair” that draws him to the film, and then he goes off on a tangent about how he never liked Woody Allen films, until he moved his plots to Europe.

It's Thanksgiving Weekend in 1999, and there were two films that were both released at the box office. First up is the clear favorite from the weekend, and one of the most rare kinds of films: A sequel that is better than the original. Then Arnold goes to war against The Devil.

Shane takes a look at the two films release on Jason Maier's 19th birthday in 1999. He takes a look at how both "Sleepy Hollow" and "The World is Not Enough" had terrible scripts, and while one of them was able to at least look visually brilliant, the other tried to use too much suspension of disbelief to make the film enjoyable.

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
