Helen needs to start going out again, picking up the threads of her life, so she has signed up to one of her granddaughter Susie's writing workshops. This results in a bit of soul searching, a smidgeon of philosophising, and a dash of ponderings on the writing process.

Her daughter Janey has moved with husband Jon to Edinburgh. Her next door neighbours have put their flat on the market. Episode 6, the finale. Helen, our elderly heroine, is still unconscious after her collision with the pavement. Jon and Janey and Susie are still anxiously awaiting the results of the scan, and the medical staff in the Accident and Emergency Department are just about keeping their heads above water with the weekend rush as well as random relatives - or are they?

This is Episode 4 of Season 12. Helen is still unconscious, as far as the medical profession can detect, but she's keeping herself amused in her head. And getting very bored. Her daughter Janey and son-in-law Jonathan are also trying to keep their spirits up, while the medical staff have problems of their own to contend with.

Helen, as you've probably worked out for yourselves, has had an accident and is presently in a coma in the Accident and Emergency Dept, where the staff are trying to figure out who she is. Helen, in her head, is desperate to know where she is, while her daughter Janey is also desperate to find her mother, helped by Helen's neighbour, Jennifer.
