Kody meets with Meri to apologize, but it doesn't go very well at all. In fact, he reveals the major issue may be her friends don't seem to like him very much. Janelle frets that the church leaders of her former faith may not dissolve her spiritual marriage to Kody. Meanwhile, Christine is in the basement literally but no longer metaphorically.

Goodness.
Well we're back with part II of Kody's apology tour stop with Christine and David and the metaphorical wheels fall out as Kody confronts his worst nightmare - a man who knows what he's talking about. Meri reveals Kody's plans to talk to her and her friends are not very supportive. Janelle keeps moving toward her own spiritual divorce. Good for her. Also, I get mad a bunch of times.
Surprise!
I figured i'd give you some more content this month and it's been about a year since my last AMA podcast. Maybe i'll do these once a year every December? We will see.
I asked my patrons for any questions they'd like me to answer and they delivered.
I answer questions like who would I want to spend the day with from the cast of Sister Wives, my feelings on academia, if i'll ever write a memoir, Kody's feelings tow...
The apology tour continues with its next stop - Christine (and David)! Kody struggles with a lack of control in the situation and spirals in how he communicates about David in particular. Meanwhile we are treated to SIGNIFICANT RONTENT finally. All the Ron you could ever ask for and perhaps a bit more as Meri and her found family rally deservingly around Jenn's husband.

Welcome back to Plathville! I am now launching my coverage of season 3 of Plathville.
My plan is to do biweekly podcasts making my way through season 3 for now. Perhaps more frequent, but lets start this way at least through the holidays. And so yes, that means the next one should drop shortly before Christmas in case that's of interest to you.
But in the meantime, we flash back to the wake of Ethan's driveway dust-up with hi...
Meri and Amber attend a singles mixer in Vegas, but will they find love? No, not even close. But we find a Yelp review, so that's something. Kody starts his apology tour with Janelle and gets exactly what he was looking for. Which is... a complex situation, I guess. We will talk all about it. Also Christine plays pickleball, which, fine.

Season finale! I discuss Garrick's recent behaviors and brief imprisonment. But as far as the show, there's a gender reveal party, break-ups, make-ups, and more. We say goodbye to season six of Seeking Sister Wife and i'll be honest - I feel pretty weird about the whole thing.

Well, well, well, look who wants to make amends. Kody decides to soft-launch an apology tour, but his communication shows he's much more dependent on Robyn's approval than he'd admit. In the same vein, Robyn accidentally reveals some of how she directs Kody. Fascinating.
Meanwhile, Meri, Christine, and Janelle are all having fun in their own ways with friends and family. Quite a contrast.
Reise and Billie Jean have a second date with Randi, but what does she reveal that nearly kept her from seeing the Williamsons ever again?
Anjelica goes back to her family in the wake of losing Shanae, and we find out exactly why the sister wife concept appealed to her to begin with.
And also - is Larrana pregnant?

The FINAL EVER Special Forces Special Report! Does Kody make it through selection? We will discuss that and his disastrous Fox News interview too.
Also: a whole episode of Sister Wives as Coyote Pass is sold, Janelle goes to New Orleans to spend her walking around money, and Christine has David get a facial.
Fun stuff!

Well, Reise's date is going well. Too well? We will find out as Billie Jean, his wife, arrives to join the fray.
Teresa may be reaching a breaking point with the Davis family. Or more so they have reached a breaking point with her, especially Nick.
All the while, the Merrifields are doing basically what you'd expect. Except also doing shots.

The Special Forces Special Report finds Kody running uphill. Literally. While the recruits and staff alike talk bad about him behind his back.
On the episode proper? Well things are finally heating up as Coyote Pass sees a showdown for the ages: who will get out of their SUV first??
Meanwhile, Christine makes a cake made of diapers, and Maddie has her baby!
Enjoy! I appreciate you.
We keep on seeking and meanwhile Garrick is getting married in a comedic cowboy hat. Reise is on a much better date than last time, but how will his wife feel when things get real? Plus Yessel finds out that Jackie is gone and he's... he's not happy.

Kody and Robyn go dancing. Or, rather, they try to learn to dance because Kody isn't exactly good at dancing with someone so much as around someone. Also, Meri frets over what to do with her old wedding dress and the memories that come with it. Plus- the Special Forces special report as I give you my reaction to the most Kody-centric episode of the season to date!

Things are heating up! By which I mean cooling down for Reise as he goes on his first date with a potential sister wife. It's one of the most awkward dates i've ever seen and I have a lot to say to you about it.
Meanwhile, The Davis ladies do a sexy photo shoot for Nick but Teresa continues to struggle with her confidence.
Plus, Yessel prepares to leave for an extended period of time, and Shanae is taking her new found power ...

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
