If you are looking to find the root problem that is keeping you from being your best self, we have to go back to the beginning of the Bible, in Genesis 1-3. If we begin be believing that God is good and all that he created is good, then we can trace through Adam and Eve how the lack of trust in God’s love and desire for their good led to the rapid decline in the full human race and all creation.
When something gets tangled, it will not get untangled by itself. An outside intervention is required. In the last episode, we discovered the roots of our problems going back to Genesis 3, and in the episode we see the completeness and beauty of the solution God provided for us in what Jesus did through His birth, life, death on the cross, and resurrection.
It is vitally important to understanding what righteousness really is and what it means to be righteous by grace through faith in what Jesus did for us. As we understand that we are free from the law and from trying to please God through our works, then we can receive the love, favor and blessings which he has paid for, and we are totally free to be the person God created us to be.
The New Testament describes an amazing but mysterious reality of who we now are as we live in Christ and His Spirit lives in us. Because we are now righteous and holy in Him, His Spirit has taken up residency in our hearts and we have access to all of the power, wisdom and transforming love 24 hour hours a day, wherever we are.
Looking at yourself and your problems and your lack will never lead to true transformation, but as we look at Jesus, we can see that “As He is, so are we in this world” and we are transformed from glory to glory.
