What is Evil!Pikachu's goal, or is it really that evil at all?  The main bads of the region are getting together for a parlay, and it feels a lot like the plot of a certain movie. There's ocean gods, glowing orbs, clashing titans... it probably sounds familiar to Ash, and since Actual!Chosen One Misty isn't stepping up, it might be up to him to do something about it. But something's in the water in Hoenn, Pikachu's going crazy again? How much friendly fire can one trainer take? It's the H...

Today's episode seems like it would be skippable except for the last five minutes where plot comes barreling in like Ash's herd of Tauros. There's a double battle, some skill polishing before the gym in moss deep, team rocket shenanigans, a long diatribe about how invested was Pikachu in this whole Pokemon Journey thing and then the Twerps go blasting off and we have a rare cliffhanger! It's an episode full of twists and turn...

Bickering kids and Shakespearean drama find us today as we get to spend more time with Clamperl evolutions! Why doesn't it happen like the games? Eh, who knows, but the animation team is stretching themselves almost as far as Nurse Joy's job description! Tune in to listen!

The kids meet an enthusiastic diver with a dream, and maybe some reclusive pokemon! A lot of fun to be had as we explore the tiny islands of Hoenn, here on Pikapi Podcast.

It's not Halloween yet, but that two-pearled Clamperl is giving me some spooky vibes... Spoink is back, causing its usual mayhem, but at least Torkoal is a good friend to help it out. Ash might regret letting his pokemon be so helpful here, but Spoink manages to out thief Team Rocket and that's an accomplishment. Tune in to hear all of those Shenanigans, now podcasting from a poor trainer's Alola! jk

Off the main path, we find a pokemon school, but not one that caters to trainers. Kids, we're gonna learn about the referee industry! And I am so stoked for it, give me the world building! Do you have what it takes to be a ref at the Pokemon League? Could you call a match with an unknown alien? I couldn't, but click here to listen!

Episode 365, it's a whole calendar year! Pluse specials and movies... May is going for her third ribbon, and we wish her luck. She's got a new friends supporting her, Kelly, and Jessie is also entering the contest. Meanwhile, Ash and Swellow try to learn Aerial Ace, and Pikachu is a troll. Tune in for the Lilycove Contest!

Today's episode is all about making Poke-Block! And failing Aerial Ace... Ash and Swellow have training to do, May meets a new friend and Max is an unsupportive little brother. But there's a Pokemon Contest in Lilycove City, so May and Jessie are going to enter! Best of luck to our ladies!

Amnesia is the name of the game today. Pikachu joins Team Rocket, and Ash is not okay. Pretty much the whole main cast should be treated for a concussion, but only one has actual cognative dysfunction, and Team Rocket's going to use that to their advantage. It's an episode of high drama, but friendship will prevail! Tune in to find out how!

I don't do this very often, but its a repeat episode. Since I've finally gotten Movie 2 re-recorded, let's celebrate by actually listening to it! The "restore the feed" project is finally happening, and episodes 1-100 are now available on the site! But mostly, let's sit back and remember what a strikingly beautiful movie this is... A fluffy episode to chase away some of the blues, whether it be just winter griping or something more serious. Take care of each other and stay safe, everyone! Tune in to hear Ash reconnect with his Snorlax over another Snorlax, some great wordplay and not so gret wordplay, and a tale of people and pokemon working together!

We got aliens, and we got the wingnuts who chase them! Put on your tin foil hats and let Ken and Mary guide us through an adventure that's out of this world! Yeah, it's nothing compared to Deoxys taking over a city, but an adventure nonetheless. Tune in to listen to weird science and mystery teams!

We just had a big movie episode, so lets spend some time reflecting on our favorite movies. A ploy to get little children into the theater for M07? You decide. But Ash desperately needs a filler episode, he's had a rough weekend. What is Ash Ketchum's favorite movie? (And definitely not Gary's?) Tune in to find out!

The sky is an entity capable of loving you back, Winona suffers little in the way of property damage, no one notices Team Rocket, Pikachu did not come in clutch for the team, Pelipper breaks some already tenuous science and I managed to worm in Professor Kukui. It's a gym battle, it's going all over the place! Click here to hear how Ash did versus Gym Leader Winona!

What are the political powers of the Pokemon world? Is Cameron Palace the San Marino of Kanto? What about Team Rocket Mechs, I have a wild theory about those. Meanwhile, the rundown on Ash's chances against gym leader Winonna! (Pikachu, you're in clutch). All that and the Magikarp Salesman, here on Pikapi Podcast! Tune in to listen!

This is not an episode to be skipped. Sure, it's poorly blocked in some areas, the thread of logic is a bit frayed, by my oh my is it hilarious! I laughed and laughed and laughed some more. Is PP a factor in the anime? Is Brock's "love radar" a thing? Does Team Rocket have competition for epic Cosplay? Tune in to find out!

It's a hungry episode this time!  That's not only because it deals with food, it also features a pokemon that looks like a dressed turkey, and I've recorded this episode four times now so I need a snack!  An episode that is hopefully funny after the fourth time around, that has many comedic moments and lots of questionable decisions and one evolution! Tune in to listen!

    The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
