The sun sets. The moon rises. The night howls. . . . The sleepy foothills hamlet of Black Diamond is waking to a new dawn of economic prosperity. The government has announced plans to develop the Kananskis Parklands, a rugged wilderness northwest of town. Three world-class ski resorts within an hour's drive! The increase in tourist traffic will make everyone rich. . . . Wealthy businessman Gavin Freid fans a fire of discontent when he claims the Fellowship—a colony of granola-eating back-to-earthers—opposes development. The damn Fellowship is going to ruin it for everyone! Tension mounts when the mutilated corpse of a hitchhiker is discovered just outside of town. Who could do such a thing? The Fellowship, of course. Those freaks. . . they run naked through the forest under moonlight! While investigating the hitchhiker's untimely death, Officer Jared Pasco's understanding of order and justice is transformed when he confronts the impossible. School teacher Josh Martins meets Julianna, single mother of Warren Davis—a Fellowship student suffering a mysterious illness. How will Josh be treated by the people of Black Diamond when they find out he has fallen in love with one of the Fellowship freaks? And how will Josh react when he learns the truth concerning Warren Davis, Julianna, and the rest of the Fellowship? Humanity and nature collide in Shape Shifters: a werewolf tale with NO vampires.
