Welcome to Kingwood Methodist! This channel broadcasts the 11:00am sermon from our Contemporary worship community: Vine Worship. John 4:23 says, ”A time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” Friends, what we believe matters to God! Let’s learn about His word, so that me order our life in a way that honors God, and brings our lives to life, and life abundant.
The next discipleship distinctive we look at is serving others. How do we process what Paul means in Romans when he says people will have the "gift of service." Is service for all? And in our modern day, wall to wall schedule, how can we serve God in our daily walk? Let's talk!

In Mark 10:32-45 Jesus tells his disciples that he is headed for the cross. If he’s headed for the cross, how are we supposed to follow him? Jesus gives us the key: the way to follow Jesus is to serve!

One of the distinctives of our discipleship at KMC is giving generously. What does that mean? Are we still bound to a fixed "number" or tithe? What is the history behind that idea? And how can we honor God with our money? And a crucial update on the Watson family fantasy football league.

As disciples of Jesus, we have received lavishly from the hands of a gracious God. When we offer our tithes and our gifts at the altar, our generosity participates in the generosity of God – and safeguards our hearts against the temptation toward the idolatry of seeking to secure our lives through wealth and other material means.

Today we talked about our KMC discipleship distinctive of "Believe in and study the Bible as the word of God." So. When I say "Go read your bible..." What comes to mind? Almost always we think of cracking open the Bible with a coffee, on a couch, ect. But what if it looked different? Can it look different? Email us your thoughts at Ryan.stueckemann@kingwoodmethodist.org.

As disciples of Jesus, we look to the Scriptures because we believe they faithfully witness to what God has done in the past, and we believe they are our best help to make us wise unto salvation. This week we look at a few things that the Bible is *not*, and we talk about what the Bible *is* and how we can encounter the Living God in its pages.

As we continue to look at our discipleship distinctives, we discuss being people of Prayer and Worship. We generally understand corporate worship (worship where we gather, like a concert or church service), but what do we do with prayer and worship when we get home? How do we not get burdened or legalistic about prayer and worship, and how do we plow through periods of discouragement or boredom in our time with the LORD? Let's get ...
As disciples of Jesus, we pray and worship individually and corporately, verbally and silently, and through feasting and fasting. The book of Psalms in the Bible helps us learn how to live our whole lives before God. Whether things are going great or not so great, we can bring it to God in prayer or in praise.

...Today we're talking about pursuing holiness of heart and life, the third distinctive of KMC as a worshiping community. Holiness is weird. Its literal definition is "Set Apart," but that definition feels like it makes more sense"sense" when you talk about the OT nation of Israel. They were literally a set apart country and culture... So what do we do as NT believers that are integrated with believers? Are we called to be monks livin...
If Jesus is really Lord over our lives and we trust the Holy Spirit, we will order our lives toward holiness: we will desire a life ‘set apart’ for the living God. This is the life of discipleship to Jesus.

This week in our More To Life sermon series, we head to Galatians to talk about our "Trust The Holy Spirit" distinctive at KMC. We functionally know want it means to trust someone... But why don't we often feel like our trust in the spirit is being "returned?" And how scripturally does the spirit actually work in our life? As always if you have a question or an observation, email the team at Ryan.stueckemann@kingwoodmethodist.org.

Trusting the Holy Spirit means dying to self and being in step with the Holy Spirit. It is how we live our Jesus as Lord of our lives.

We're in a new sermon series studying the eight points of discipleship. First we have to claim that Jesus is Lord over our lives. Who is Lord over your life? How do we relinquish our own control and let God's authority reign? How does God being unseen in our lives make it more difficult to release our own control over our lives versus other authorities that we can see. Discipleship is a journey, not an endpoint, so how are you doin...
A disciple of Jesus is someone who professes Jesus Christ as the Lord above all powers, relationships, and even above self. When a person professes Jesus as Lord in this way, they become subject to God’s power to save, heal, and deliver them.

The parable of the Prodigal Son. You know it. You love it. But as we zoom out on this passage and others that we've preached though, it begs the question, Whose "program" are you really on? Has the way of the Kingdom really impacted the way you fully live the life you are given? Or are you just using parts of the kingdom for various types of gain? Email any questions to Ryan.stueckemann@kingwoodmethodist.org we'd love to chat!

Today we dive into the parable of the lost sheep and the lost coin. What does it mean to be lost? What does it mean to be found? How do we process the fact that we profess faith in Christ, but also still have a lot of lost-ness and baggage in our lives? And Ryan asks the team the hard question... Do you want a boat?
