Hey! My name is Taylor and I host the Time of Death Podcast. I decided to bring my interest in the death penalty to a weekly podcast. Each week we will discuss the big news stories of the week as well as do a deep dive into a specific topic. This topic could be anything, a profile on an inmate or a state's history with the death penalty. So, if you're ready, stay tuned!
This week, I really wanted to look at some of the big cases to come from California's death row. The three cases that really stood out to me were some of the big changes that happened on their Condemned Row including their first time using the gas chamber and their first execution after the de facto moratoriums in the 70s. I also looked at their last execution and how it has affected the state since.
I hope you enjoy it! Have...
Our big news story today centers on a US-Pakistan national that was sentenced to death for killing a close friend after she rejected his romantic advances. The case focuses on domestic violence in Pakistan and a bill that has been making its way through their Senate that will help put an end to the crippling normality of abuse in the country.
In other news, the Supreme Court has declined to hear a GA case regarding intellectu...
This week's deep dive focuses on California's death row. There's been a lot of close calls with this one but for some reason, California still keeps a tight hold on its death row. Why is this the case even though the state hasn't had an execution since 2006?
I hope you enjoy it!
Coming back with another news dive! This week I've sprinkled in some international news out of Singapore and Papua New Guinea as well as an update to Utah's House Committee hearing for House Bill 147, which would repeal its death row.
I hope you enjoy it!
Every Tuesday (this week it was Wednesday...whoops), we will be breaking down some of the biggest news stories of the week! This week, there's been a lot of commotion regarding the complicated relationship between California and their death penalty along with some Conservative hesitancy surrounding anti-capital punishment legislation in Kentucky and Utah.
Let's get into this!

This week, I decided to do a two-part series on the trial and execution of Sacco and Vanzetti. This case is a very famous case because it involves debate about immigration, anarchism and xenophobia that was popping up in Post-WWI America at the time. This week, I watched the documentary The Phantom and I was inspired to talk about Carlos DeLuna, a death row inmate in Texas that may have been wrongfully executed. The case is actually pretty insane because it might have been a case of mistaken identity and police error. Buckle up folks because this is a wild story!

This week, I wanted to dive into the history of the firing squad, one of the least used methods of execution. Buckle up for a wild ride as we dive into it's history, some of the most notorious prisoners to be executed by firing squad and how the mormons fit into all of this.

Not only this, but the purchase of Zyklon B, an insecticide used during the Holocaust to execute Jews in Auschwitz, was also purchased by Arizona's DOC.
Why is this a problem and what are the repercussions of its...
