Nicole Meyer was first abused by her school principal when she was 15 years old. Malka Leifer continued abusing her, and her sisters - Dassi Erlich and Elly Sapper, for years. From grooming the community to breaking off Nicole’s engagement, Leifer controlled every aspect of her life. The sisters finally broke their silence, reporting the rapist to police. But, in the middle of one night in 2008, Leifer fled the country.
For seven years, Kate DeAraugo did whatever she could to get her next hit of ice. She lived in a drug house with 10 other addicts, was arrested and charged several times, stripped and held in police cells, and was once stabbed by a machete-wielding man.
She was faced with a terrifying choice, death or detox. Kate shares how she broke her 20 year addiction, turned her life around and her advice for supporting people in need.
Kate DeAraugo shot to fame when she won Australian Idol in 2005. Within months, she was chasing the high of drugs. Very quickly, addiction took over her life. It wasn’t until Kate met a man with an ice pipe, that was the beginning of the end.
