I've been trying to get Tony Garcia on my radio show for the whole of 2025 and after eight months we got there. DJ/Producer and all round nice guy Tony has a number of residencies around the city, many of them playing vinyl. Founder of Rotary Disco and Klubhouse two great events on Sydney scene over the past decade.

This mix has a nice healthy dose of garage in the centre, but the last third is just straight up fire. The Riva Starr mix of Dennis Ferrer's Hey Hey from 2020 is the highlight for me.  Everytime I hear it it gets me going.  Genius.

So last month I started the annual classics series with the 2005 mix.
This week I flipped it round and did a mix based on the month I bought the music.  Since it's July that's the month I went with.  I have done this a couple of times on Pressure Radio with a Junes and Decembers mix.  It's fun and helps you reconnect with older music you may not have heard for years.

Apologies for the late arrival of the May mix.  Ironically it was recorded on April 30th's radio show, but as per you the perfectionist in me wasn't 100% happy with the flow and had intentions of re-doing later in the month which of cause didn't happen.  However the more I listened to the mix the more I fell in love with it.  Now I don't hear any issues or flaws in it!

Another special guest show and this month I'm proud to present good friend and Sydney legend DJ Dante Rivera, founder of Klubhouse and countless other Sydney events over the years.  Dante was partly responsible for my exposure to Sydney clubbers.  He was the first person to reach out post Covid to ask if I would play for Klubhouse.  That set has resulted in me playing for multiple promoters around the city.

This mix is a recording from the set I played for Night Safari on March 22nd at Carousel in Sydney.
Carousel is a relatively new club that recently got voted one of the top clubs in the world!!  It's somewhere I go regularly, the sound system alone cost $600k AUD!  Funktion one throughout, even in the bathroom they have a small Funktion One!

We had another special guest DJ on the show this week, DJ So Michael from Sydney.  Tried to get him on before Xmas, but you know Xmas.  So glad we didn't let it slip and so here we are.
Sol is a very rare talent having started DJing at the very tender age of eight!  By 14 he was playing in Sydney's clubs warming up for the likes of Dave Lee (back when he had his cool name) no less.

This is a 90% vinyl mix on a radio show.  There are a few dodgy transitions, I hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the overall mix.  I normally don't release mixes with ropey transitions, but the tunes are too good ...

Finally broke my Soul of Sydney duck.  I went to their very first party at Sydney Park maybe 14 years ago with my then two little boys.  The youngest who was only two took to it like a duck.  He dragged me into the middle of the makeshift dancefloor and started dancing.  He didn't want to leave.

I actually ran out of new tunes, it was a well discussed topic in the chatroom as to whether I had enough.  So I decided to end the mix with two of my own tracks, Can't Play which was my second track made and my latest one, Beautiful Persons.

Last show of the month and we were lucky two get two guests on the show, em_laa and Jeremy Sylvester.  The first show on VBR was a new mix of new(ish) tracks, so that leaves this week for crate digging and boy did we dig!  At least three quarters of the mix is vinyl as I didn't switch to digital until 2005 and most of these tracks are much older than that.
No preconceptions of what I was gonna play or even the style.
