Bit Storm

Clicking some Pitches, Ben and Trevor improvise some random game designs, such as:

a tense horror game set in an underwater exoskeleton;

a golf game set in a fairy tale universe with visual novel elements;

a kids adventure story exploring a mirror universe called The Back to Front;

and more!

Ben and Trev return yet again to the well that is classic Click Pitch. The games discussed include.

• What if Wash didn't die in Serenity?
• A puzzle game where fire sprites try to set peoples houses on fire.
• A puzzle game similar to The Room but this time it's an apparatus.

This week both Ben and Trevor have their own game ideas to pitch, so rather than using random words they riff on:

a PvE mash up of Hell Divers and Fortnite where you are travelling back in time to gather information;

a storylet driven arcade game with elements of Space Invaders, Missile Command and colony building

Ben and Trev get inspired by the latest game jam, the Dark Web Jam or the DWJ for short. They have played some of the best and discuss them on this very episode. The game discussed include such ideas as:

• A baywatch inspired 80's romp on a beach
• A forensic scientist who focuses on phone repairs
• A drunken police officer gets his thrills in the apocalypse by skydiving.

Welcome to Bit Storm! This week Trevor and Ben riff on some game ideas with some classic Click Pitch, inventing ideas such as:

a spy thriller where you must escape from the top of a building after being betrayed by your team;

a catering game a la Overcooked where positioning your waitstaff is the key to success;

a world overrun with dihydrogen monoxide;

and more!

Ben brings in a game idea to discuss and then Ben and Trev play some click pitch like normal. The game ideas discussed were:

• Dentists with storylets
• Avatar the action adventure game
• A point and click story about 2 towns and their fixation on bells.

Some stream-worth games are stormed this week as Ben and Trevor play Click Pitch, resulting in:

a game show hell on the other side of a massive fibre-optic cable;

golf played purely with explosives;

a survival game on a desolate alien world;

and more!

Getting ever closer to the mystical episode 400, Ben and Trev enjoy a rousing game of Click Pitch and discuss games including ideas such as:

• Old timey robots
• Statues of Priestesses that can't be moved.
• Remote escalators

Ben and Trevor jam out with some Classic Click Pitch, inventing improvised game designs such as:

a couch-competitive game where you and your friends vie for control over a single body;

a mail-sorting game where you must live with your mistakes;

Fantasy Valet, where you must be careful which mounts you place next to which;

Ben and Trev keep it simple this week, as it's been a WEEK. They play the original Click Pitch, it's a classic for a reason. The games they discussed include:

Ben and Trevor explore the wonderful world of Global Game Jam and find out this years theme. Many game ideas are then discussed while they plan the game they will attempt to build this year.

• A game involving a dentist delicately balancing the nitrous oxide / oxygen intake for 4 simulateous patients.
• A skill tester based sugery game
• A sequel to their first ever Global Game Jam game, BOOM

Ben and Trevor do some more more movie game madness, coming up with video games based on:

a combination of off-brand Jurassic Park and Mortal Kombat;

Spielberg's Duel mixed with clone thriller Dual;

a nostalgic Aussie take on Five Nights at Freddy's;

Ben and Trevor get back into some Click Pitch for the new year, inventing games such as:

• a geologist who must solve a robbery using only rocks
• the life of a teleprompter technician
• a storylet based rescue game set on an island
• the dark side of the baby delivering business
• and more!

To close out 2023 Ben and Trev reminisce over the many dark web games they've played over the year and select their favourites to discuss. The games discussed were, in no particular order:
