(00:22):
R party. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. It is
the I Couple. I am Chris, he is Rob. We're
coming to you live from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Call one A A eight Farmers to switch
and you could save an average of four hundred and

(00:44):
seventy dollars a year on your car insurance. Who doesn't
want to do that? My goodness, it's a lot of
money for a quick phone call. Don't you think? It's
the average national savings annually from survey data July to
December twenty he twenty. We are take that for data.

(01:06):
Thanks Fizz. All right. At the bottom of the hour,
the show that is taking the nation by storm Tysher's
Tower of Trivia. It's made our DJ Alex tischert a superstar,
an internationally known Anna made legend, and we will put
him to the test. We'll put him on the hot seat,

(01:29):
so to speak, on Tishart's Tower of Trivia. All right,
but first, Rob, we were talking about this in the
first hour. Let's revisit it for a few moments. Anthony
Davis did an interview with The Athletic today and he
said this. I don't have to read the direct quote,
but he said he doesn't well, you know what, I

(01:49):
will read it. Put it to you like this, AD said,
I know that that man, meaning Lebron James, does not
care about MVP awards. He cares about championships. So if
he loses the MVP and wins the championship like he
did last year, he doesn't care. So that's what his

(02:09):
mindset is. He's not focused on the MVPs. He's focused
on finals MVPs. That was a d you buying it around, No,
I'm not buying it. And and it's like it's not
an either or situation. Thank you can't tell me that
it is. Yeah, it's like either or oh, yeah he
is the MVP, or he's gonna win the finals MVP. No,

(02:33):
how about this, Uh, you know you don't win the finals,
but he but he has an MVP season at thirty six.
Chris his a TC year in the NBA. You don't
think that that's something different? Would that make him stand
out a little bit? Oh man? Yes, one of the
as made a good point that made boosters that can, right,

(02:55):
and that that would be big. I mean neither of
us think it puts him ahead of Joy but but
but it took the conversation. Yeah, and he would have
one more MVP than well, he would tie Michael with
five MVPs and don't have one late right, Yeah, that's
that's it, That's what would separate him. Chris. So, I

(03:16):
just don't understand a d and his I don't know.
Was he just trying to be disingenuous. It's I can't
because I think he think he was protecting Lebron. But
you and I said this, right, just be honest, ad,
I get it. If if if, if the real answer
was really negative, then okay, I get it. You're not

(03:37):
just gonna negative. Lebron is a human being. Yes, I
bet Lebron wants to collect as many MVP awards as
he can get. How would far until he retires? When
you kiddn't, come on, I got no issue with it.
When you are that caliber player, and let's just keep
it real. Rob Lebron thinks he's the best player in

(04:00):
the world, and he thinks he's been the best player
in the world. Probably he's played what this is, eighteenth year.
He probably thinks he's been the best player in the
world for the last fourteen thirteen, fourteen years, and so
every year he doesn't get the MVP. And I get it, right,
if I was the best in the world at something

(04:23):
and I didn't get the MVP award, I didn't get
the vote, whatever the ration, now, whatever logic there was
for the other guy. Oh, you know, let's say it
was radio broadcasting and somebody started a new show and
it was hot, and that's why he got the Best
Broadcaster award, And I'd be like, yo, I'm still the best,

(04:44):
you know what I mean, Like, I get it. When
you're that level of person in any field, you want
to be recognized it as such. And there's nothing wrong
with that. Let's stop it with this, you know, this
narrative that because Lebron may want to win the MVP Award,

(05:05):
there's something wrong with that. There's something selfish about that.
Damian Lullar probably wants the MVP Award, Luca, don Chich Nicole, Ki,
Steph Curry, Yannis right and to your point, right the kids,
it's not exclusive. You cannot both. One doesn't have anything

(05:26):
to do with the other one. Chris like like, oh yeah,
Lebron doesn't care and he doesn't want to care about
the MVP because he wants to win the finals MVP.
You can do. You can win both. You could have
a great year, win that go to the playoffs, win
the finals to get another MVP. Is it either if
you told me choice of one or the two. Oh yeah,

(05:46):
I'll take the finals MVP. Those are my two choices.
And if he had said it that way, we all
would agree with him. Yeah. Right, If Lebron has a choice,
if anybody has a choice, you're taking the finals MVP
because that means you won the champion ship, especially a
guy in Lebron's shoes, because you know he's trying to
rack up as many rings as he can for his legacy.

(06:07):
So we just say, look a d just just just
be honest about it. That's it. Like you said, right,
when you do an interview with a guy, you want
to get some insight. You want him to open up
you know, you know, I'll tell you there was there
was a big star. I'm not gonna mention his name.
It's not like it doesn't matter, but a big star

(06:28):
in Detroit. Uh and Chris. We started out going to
his locker trying to get some you know, insight, feel
like he has a feel for the game or whatever.
Just to Zero, I mean, he's as good. He was
as good as a player as anybody. Had no no insight,
you know what. Stopped going to his locker, right, and

(06:51):
he's a star player and he did it bother him, no,
because he just he just he just didn't have He
was uncomfortable in front of the camera. He didn't he
he didn't have any insight to the game. What he
was telling me, Chris, I watched myself. I was at
the game right. So if you're not giving me anything
other than what I saw with my own two eyes,

(07:13):
absolutely what am I? What am I here for? I
saw you just describe what happened in the game. I
saw that. Tell me what you were thinking? What was
going on before that? Did you think you could make
that play? You know what I mean? Like like, give
me something nothing? Zero? I stopped going towards locker. Yep,
I believe it. I believe it all right. Speaking of

(07:34):
big stars, Rob, now this one has something to say.
Shaquille O'Neill. Now Shaq has robbed. I think he's become
really good on that TNT set inside the NBA with
Charles Barkley and Kenney Smith and Ernie Johnson. And that's
not easy to do, Rob, you know. I mean, they
had such a good thing going with just the three

(07:56):
of them that you could ruin it if you put
the wrong guy. And you know what I mean, whis
I'm just wish Shack Shack mumbles a little bit too
much for me. Chris, he always has no I know,
but I'm just saying that's the only thing. Like sometimes
I can remember his first day on the show. Do

(08:17):
you remember his first day on or notice? Well I
remember his first several Maybe it might have been I
didn't think he was good initially. I was watching his
debut and guess what, somebody from home tweeted, swear, I swear,
and I was like right on the money. And the
guy tweeted, turn up Shacks, Mike because you couldn't hear

(08:38):
him like that was his first turn up Shacks Mike. No,
his Mike has turned up, but the head no, no.
I mean but I thought when he first got on
the show, which is natural, I thought he was trying
to be an analyst, you know, like like trying to
This is an overstatement, but you know, sound like Bryant

(08:59):
Gumble or by right. Somebody got to him and said, look, Shock,
be yourself. You were an all time great player. Just
give us the insight from you. Like you're sitting around
talking to the other guys who play ball. Just talk
and that's what he's good at. But you know, look, Rob,
you just said it. If you're sitting around talking with

(09:20):
your boys about the game. If you're sitting around talking
with your boys about the game, sometimes you're gonna be critical,
right Yo, Man, he ain't no good. How this dude
get his money or how you know? Man, they need
to stop playing him or whatever. And that's what Shock's done. It.
He's gotten some criticism for it. A lot of the
current players don't like it. And Shock has said last

(09:41):
night he's going to dill it down here. He is.
My mother pulled me inside the last night and said,
baby taking easy on the young guys. So he's gonna
see a new approach from me talking about these bombs
Rob the way he said it, I mean, do you.
I don't know if he's I think he may try

(10:02):
to have a new approach. I don't. I just I
think he's probably gonna revert to doing what I can
text Shack Right now, I'd say, scrapped a new approach.
Just be honest. You don't need to talk about people's money.
That's the only thing I'll criticize him Chris about. But
if you don't think a guy's a good player, or
or the guy needs to improve, and you could point

(10:22):
out what he needs to do or ways to improve
or what's wrong, I'm all for that. Everybody's not gonna
like you, Shack everybody. So so once you get over that.
I think I told you this before. My mom told
me that when I was a kid. She said everybody
didn't like Jesus Christ either. It's okay, everybody's not gonna

(10:43):
like you because you could say a million nice things
about somebody and the first time you say something to
point out something, they're mad at you. Do you know
what I mean? Like, So, so you just get over it. Now,
You're absolutely right you especially in this business that written pieces,
like tons of pieces positive and you write one piece

(11:05):
and it's like, oh, why what are you doing, Chris?
Why you gotta write that? Uh? You know you ain't
what I wrote exactly. It's true. And the thing is this,
And this is what I would say to the current players.
And I get it. Nobody likes being criticized. Nobody likes
being criticized on national television. Nobody likes being criticized by

(11:28):
somebody they see at an All Star game, at a
regular game or whatever, just somewhere and you, you know,
you roll you cool? Yo? What up? Brother? How you doing? Man?
What's right? So I get that that's human nature. But
here's what I would say to the players. We whether
it's just regular broadcasters like us or even former players

(11:52):
shock Charles Barkley, whoever, we're just as you said earlier,
we're sitting around critique in the game. Yes, that's it.
And if you listen to some of the players on podcasts,
whether it's Kyrie on the podcast, KD on the podcast, whoever,
they do the same thing once they start talking sports.

(12:15):
That I mean, Kyrie said it. Man, it's the first
time I have somebody I can really throw the rock
to and feel like he gonna hit that shot. You
was doing the same thing as us, you know, I
mean it, That's all it is. And you wouldn't want
that person to think you hate them or you're a
hater or whatever. You were just giving your opinion. You

(12:37):
might be right, you might be wrong, but it was
just your opinion. And that's what the players have to understand.
And this is the other issue I have is now,
First it was they wanted to rip us because we
didn't play in the league. Okay, if that's what you
want to use, even though there's a ton of great
coaches Chris who never played in the NBA, never played

(12:58):
in the NFL, never played major college football. Whatever, here's
money if you think to that point right quickly, because
I know you want to finish. I don't know how
to fix my car engine, but I can tell if
you the so called expert, jacked it up right. And
I'm allowed to say, yo, dude, what you're doing? What

(13:19):
are you doing right? I'm not a mechanic, but I
know it ain't right exactly. So that's it. That's there,
it is. And my other point, and I'm just gonna finish,
is you don't want us to criticize you. Then they
put up former players at the highest level. Now you
don't want them to criticize you. So which one is it, Chris?
Is it that we didn't play in the league, So

(13:40):
what do we know about playing in the NBA? Or
is it that Shack and Charles and Kenny, Well they're
grumpy old men and they're just better because they didn't
make the money we made. Well, which one is it? Right? Right?
It's just it is what it is. And like I said,
you know, when players did they sit around and and

(14:02):
sometimes you know, Rob, we've had conversations with players off
the record, and they'll be critical to players, right, I mean,
it's so it's that's all it is. Everybody just like
you have your opinions about what a guy did right,
what a guy did wrong. Who's better than who we
do too? And we're just saying them publicly because that's

(14:24):
our job and that's what that's what we want, right,
you know? All right? A seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine,
you'll turn the way in. Do you have an issue
with Shock's harsh criticisms of today's NBA players, and you
can take it on the Barkley because he's had the

(14:45):
same issues as Shock Rob. You know he's been called
out to we'll continue the conversation with you. Next is
Chris and Rob, the Old Couple of Fox Sports Radio.

and so forth. What do you think? All right? Turn
the seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Jabrill in Atlanta.

(16:30):
Chris kicks us off here on the Couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up? Hey? We're going on? What up?
How you all right? But yeah, I ain't got no
problem with what Sha said, because I feel like when
Sha do it, he not hating. Some people do it
and it come it's come off and hate, like you know,
like rab and skill. How do you get on the run?

(16:52):
You know what I'm saying? How are you gonna call
here with that? Man, really, Jabrille, when I come down
to Atlanta, no wings for you and no magic shit. Okay, hey, hey,
hey hey Jabrill, is he there? Is he go? I
was gonna say, be careful doing All Star weekend. Rob.
I know you won't be there, but I'm saying to him,

(17:12):
you know, no, I'm not gonna be I'm going All
Star Game in July, the Baseball Ster Game, which is
in Atlanta. I'm going to that, are you? Yeah? Yeah,
Baseballaster Game is outside, Chris. It's a whole different animal,
you know what I mean. And by July, I think
it'll be good. So I got my well they good
down there in Atlanta. Now they think well, they think

(17:35):
I'm open from what I'm here. Yeah, I know, but
I'm thinking about July outdoors, you know what I mean,
I should be pretty good. Well, Rob G, Rob G,
unless you have another caller to go to, No, no, no no,
not charming jumping. Rob G wants to weigh in if
you want to call in eighty seven seven y Yeah,

(17:57):
he coming with an opinion. Okay, I'm just training for
when Rob takes a vacation day and I can go
at Chris. He was so scared. Rob it was. It
was ridiculous. You want me to give you to be ready?
I tell you what you could be ready so I
can really like get ready for it. You know, train
and take notes for three months? Is saying Rob, yes,

(18:18):
if you know what's so? Maybe anyway, June think about it. Okay, Well,
I am off March nineteenth, just like y'all know, which
means we're gonna have our highest downloaded show again on
March nineteenth, which is great. You're just making it worse
on yourself when you when you do. I just deal
with facts, Chris. It's not don't get her feelings about it.

(18:40):
It's just fair answering the question. What's the question? What
you had a copy? Yeah? What I think? I think
you guys both made good points about Shack. But what
my issue with him is is that he is on
a show that is representing the NBA like it is
the flagship show of the National Basketball Association, is their

(19:01):
most popular show, the most watch show, the most critically
acclaimed show, and Shack I feel like he is disrespecting
the sport with some of the comments that he makes,
Like calling guys bums is not being critical, that's not
giving your analysis that's name calling. Check they didn't. They
did a game. They did a game a game or

(19:23):
a bit on the show yesterday, and I'm assuming, I
hope it was a joke, but I couldn't tell it,
to be honest with you, where they had guys pictures
and they said, here's the last name, Shack, give us
the first name, And he couldn't get any of the
names right. So that tells me that he's either this
he's a great actor and he can get through this
bit without anybody knowing, or he really doesn't care, or

(19:45):
he really doesn't care enough about his profession or the
sport to follow and do his research on the players
that he's covering. So you saying he shouldn't be on
that show, No, he should. I think that Shack is
the most h percy you can cut out and the
show we just find. You can cut Shack and that
show would be perfect. Well, hold on, hold on. Everything
you just said about Shock, you could say about Barkley,

(20:07):
Barkley and Barkley obviously is the main reason that the
show skyrocketed to being what it is. It's a tremendous show.
Barkley don't know anymore about what's going on on the
court than shock. I mean, they know the game when
they want, but it's just following following, you know, the
watching the teams though that right, they don't do that,

(20:28):
right then, I'm part of their comedy is you know,
just them being themselves and they have the cloud say
what you want. They're two of the best players to
ever play the game. They can say what they want
about it. People can like it, but it's not good.
I'll say this, It is good for the sport. How's

(20:48):
the show so popular? Can you imagine that ain't hurting
the NBA? You imagine turning on NFL on Fox and
Terry and Terry Bradshaw says, you know what, Russell Wilson's
a bum. NFL is a different for an animal, and
so it's different in so many ways. So you can't
you can't keep up for a guy just because he
was a good player. That doesn't it doesn't broadcast. Does

(21:09):
the show hurt the NBA? Part of it? Yes, because
because here the reason is is that when casual fans
watch that show, which is very entertaining, they hear shack
and chuck most of them too, not really Kenny rip
the players ripped the style of play, rip the commentary,
say things that don't make sense, and then you have

(21:32):
casual fans are turned off all of a sudden because
they're your opinion. You don't know that's a fact. You
don't know that that ain't that's not the fault of
inside the NBA. That's not that could not be part
of it. Give you the give one of all the
stuff that I ever heard chall say, which I thought

(21:53):
was the most unbelievable when you talk about a flagship
for a sport. And a couple of years ago he
said the NBA is basically unwatchable. They're just on television,
you know, as it's doing a game. Right, he says,
other than about four or five teams, I can't watch
this league. Now, know how many guys Chris could get
over He saw somebody she wasn't a guy, right. But again,

(22:18):
and look, I hear what Robs you said. And and
like Olden Pollin, he said, you shouldn't get personal, keep
it to basketball. But I all I'm saying, Rob is,
if you're you're saying this about Shock, then if you
think Shock shouldn't be on there, then you gotta take
Barkley off too. Now, Barkley's better. Barkley's more entertaining than Shock,

(22:43):
but they're both doing the same thing. Barkley just does
it better. But you're not trying to take Barkley off
the show. You could if he wanted, If if you
wanted to have as good of a show, it would
not be there. You know, person on earth. You could
replace Charles bark and the show would be as good.
ESPNS tried to hire him a million times. That's why

(23:04):
he makes so much money. And the other thing is,
you know me, and Chris knows this because he's a
part of the ESPN NBA shuffle. How many shows they've
tried to put together and they can't get am I right?
Chris I was in there. Yes, Charles bark They would
take him in a minute. Yeah, I would take him
in a minute. Get to your point, Rob g Here's

(23:25):
the thing, David Stern, and you know this, Rob David Stern,
when he was commissioner, if you weren't if he didn't
want you on an NBA show, like one of their
major shows on any of these networks, you weren't gonna
be on am I Right Robe, you were not going
to be on He would call I don't know if

(23:46):
he would do it. I don't know if he would
do it to players as much, but he he did
it to us regular you know, broadcasting and writers. I'm
telling that's a fact. And you know him, Rob, he
didn't back down the players either, know, you know, when
it came to bark So I think if he had
felt that a player was hurting the game, I think

(24:07):
he would have tried to do it now. And he was,
you know, he was running the league when Barkley emerged
and became this great broadcaster. So I get it. You
don't want to certainly be calling the players bums and
things stuff like that. There's no place for that. But right,
but come on, I mean you can't. You can't single

(24:29):
out Shock and then just act like it's all good
with Charles and I like them both on the show. Yeah,
Charles is best, but I like them both. All right.

big hypocrites after our rip shack for not following the

(25:12):
sporty covers, because now we got a whole segment building
around a guy who talks sports, not me or right,
who's talking about sports and he doesn't follow it none
other than Tightest Tower of Trivia proven you don't even
gotta like sports to work in sports media. The Big
Star again, host of the Weave Nation podcast, founder of
Coming Soon Only packs, my man dg Alex Heisher. You know,

(25:35):
I don't really watch the sport, but these guys are
a bunch of bombs. I'm glad to be here. Keeney,
but Kinni Milo Supreme. Yeah, I'm thinking about starting this
app CB so dumb this up. Everybody's doing fans only, right,
I think about doing an only's pack where we just
open like Pokemon cards for you, but we show like
some inner thigh. I think it'd be great. All right,
let's get it five dollars a month, folks. All right,

(25:55):
I flipped the coin before these segments started, and you
know this works. You got one word clues to help
get these sports questions rights, and we flip the coin.
Chris is first. And because Russell Wilson has been in
the story of the news all week, all these questions
are Russell Wilson fiend. So hopefully Alex has been falling
up on his Seahawks trivia and you can get some
of these answers right your first. Here we go. In Seattle,

(26:18):
the nickname for the Seahawks, which Russell wasn't place for
their rabbit fan base, is called the Twelfth Blank Woman. Man,
there it is. I'll tell you, I'm nice with these clues. Yeah,
that was actually nice. See all right, all right, done

(26:39):
on this game. It was good. That was good. All right,
We keep it moving. Number two, Rob Parker, one word clue.
Here we go. Russell Wilson said this week that while
he doesn't want to be traded from the Seahawks, if
you were to get traded, it would be either to
the Raiders, Saints, Cowboys, or Blank Grizzly Bears. That is correct.

(27:07):
I thought you might say, Berenstein, all right, we keep
on moving, say yogi, but he would say boo book.
Everything's not funny. We're moving up the tower to get
a little bit tough for every every level. Question number three, Crisp,
we started. One more clue here for Alex Tisher. Russell
Wilson played his early college years at NC State before

(27:29):
transferring to this Big ten school for his final season.
That school was the University of Blank Milwaukee. Oh gosh, Ceb,
this is just oh my gosh, this is a college
school right in Milwaukee. Oh boy, I think I just

(27:54):
heard somebody talking about this. Um Gonzaga is in correct,
should be happy. I need to school team Packers. Oh gosh, No, Alex,
you can't ask me for clues. So much for being
on my team. See Rob, I was trying to help
out there Packers, Uh Milwaukee for some reason. I want

(28:18):
to say Bucks. Is that right? That is incorrect? All right,
here we go, Here we go, Alex listening closely? State,
Oh my gosh, um oh, people listening, don't drive off
the road. Um states abolition state than correct, Rob, last

(28:42):
chance of deal for what is this now? Seven points? Rob,
I'm just gonna give you up cheese. I'm just I'm
just gonna say I don't think it's the clues that
are not gonna give it to that much was hot
the pass. I don't know this one. Wisconsin very she said.

(29:09):
If I had said Milwaukee, I probably might have gotten it.
I might have guessed Wisconsin. No, you wouldn't happen. No,
he wouldn't happen. I gotta go with my voice. But
you weren't you? Weren't you? Marty? Thing was Alex. He
said the University of so right when you said you

(29:31):
knew you weren't. You know what I'm saying, you like
the university of named after states? Or you know what
I mean? Yeah, So say green Bay when you said
Pat I think I thought he was gonna say green Bay.
When you said Packer, yeah, and he I thought he
might say green Bay. But I was thinking because you
said Milwaukee. R Do you know what I mean? You know,

(29:53):
he got lost, He got all discombobular. I was a
little lost in the sauce. There a lot of sports,
but I like this all right? Tiers Tower a trivia.
Rob Parker can't take the lead here, question number four.
I thought it was no you had Wisconsin from you?
The first clue Rob Parker, Marshawn Lage was Russell Wilson's
running back during their Super Bowl runs, but most people

(30:13):
just called him by his nickname. It was Blank modem. Yes, Rob,
yeas Yeast, you're stealing my tactics. Rob Oh, okay, hold up,
hold up, hold up, if you're trying to play that game,

(30:35):
eat beast, Yeah, boy, Rob clue, I was gonna say
half of those points. I was gonna say, beauty. Oh
that's say beauty. You lost me at a sec for Yeast.
But hold on? How was Rob able to steal my tactics?
I mean you made it up like it's the first

(30:58):
time I was playing this. Did do that? Just showed
me a trade? More game, we move up another level
of the tower. It's getting harder and harder. Level five, Chris,
you're up. Chance to get back into the tie here.
Earlier this season, Russell Wilson filed a trademark slogan that
implies that the team should let him throw the ball more.

(31:20):
The slogan was let Russ Blank, Yeah, I need some chef, chef,
chef cook let the top. That was well done, all right, Rob,
than number six? This would be a really tough one, Alex.

(31:40):
I'm I got really for you? Can I guess without
seeing a letter. Russell Wilson went viral this past offseason
when he said he has an alter ego that is
extremely bombastic, so it was the opposite of himself. His
alter ego is named mister blank. Quoting them to me
was now, think about what is this alter egos? I

(32:03):
always say, Okay, yeah, alter ego. Buff I couldn't hear you, Rob,
what was that buffet? Buffet? Oh? Uh, gluttony, mister Glutteney.
That's incorrect. That wasn't a bad one. Uh, this is

(32:23):
a tough one. Um. I wonder if it's actually like
a catchy name or is it something simple? Um? Uh,
I don't know. C this is you telling me? Let's go.
I mean this yeah, Jason Smith on in infinity infinite

(32:50):
infinity infinity. Uh, mister universe, that's incorrect. This one's hard
if what do you guys get this one into the
game here? Really? Yes? All right, Rob, you get one
more chance? You know how I think? Rob? Come on? Bottomless?
Oh my gosh, bottomless? Um? Yeah, Robin dropped some good

(33:15):
clues here, ye, Rob, trust No, No, it's the saint you.
Bro's just like what would this home call himself? Mister,
mister mister oh gosh, sorry Rob, but mister empty, ain't
corrector Rob, Uh, I'm really trying. Chris gets this, he wins.
If not, we're ending in a time because we're really late. Alex,

(33:38):
I'm trying, bro non stop, non stop, mister go get her.
That's incorrect. We're gonna end. It was wasn't it unlimited?
Is it really? Yes? Mister unlimited? I said bottomited one.

(34:00):
I thought if Robert said buffet, that is done, you'd
just said capitol one mile. That's a hard one. That's
a hard one. All right, That's that's our man, DJ
Alex tie shirt. He took a few moments to get
out of the crates and uh do his tower of

Farmers Insurance. Fox Sports Radio student called one triple late

(35:02):
Farmers and you can see a whole lot saved. I'm sorry,
you could save a whole lot of something something on
your car insurance. All right, let's wrap it up with this, Rob.
You and I are both high on the Brooklyn Nets,
and we both think that you know, Kevin Durant, he

(35:22):
gonna be able to slide in pretty much seamlessly, and
that team's not gonna lose a beat. They've won eight
straight without him. And now it's come out today, right,
And he was supposed to come back from this hamstring
injury before the All Star break. Now they're saying he'll
be out past the All Star break and he won't

(35:43):
even play an All Star game. Indiana's Demantus A Bonus
has replaced Durant in that game. And Durant was a captain,
so he won't be playing in that. But this is
purely a hypothetical because I don't think anyone doubts that
Kevin Durant will be back after the All Star break.

(36:06):
You know, in barring some type of serious injury, he'll
be fine for the playoffs and you know he'll play
the second half of the season and all that. But
do you think if he were able to come back.
You've seen the Nets role they've beaten up on the
Western Powers and the Eastern Powers for that matter, without Durant.

(36:28):
Could they win it without him? You think? I think
it would be. It wouldn't be as easy, obviously. I
just you can't miss a player of that caliber and
think they're still gonna win. Hands down, I would feel
way more confident knowing just because of what he's done
in the postseason and the big time baskets he's made

(36:48):
in the finals, and you know what I mean, like like,
I just like what his resume. So could they win it?
Sure they could win it because they got two stars.
You normally need at least two. They have to um.
But I wouldn't be nearly as confident I think they
could get there. Whether they win or not, I'm not
positive Chris, but if he's there, I think they can win. Yeah.

(37:10):
Well yeah, if he's there, I mean obviously, um without
him though, Man, look, you can't say they couldn't. You
know what I'm saying. You certainly give them a shot.
They would not be the favorites, and they aren't yet
the favorites in most people's eyes. You know, most people
still have the Lakers or even the Clippers as the favorite. Um,

(37:34):
they got them Nets as the favorite I think right now? Yeah,
because I mean, look, the ad is out, I mean,
and then they're sec third best player shrewders out too. Um,
So I don't think yet yet. I mean, and I'm
just going on different commentators like I still got the
Lakers over the Nets in the finals. Now I made
you know, I'm watching closely. Um, and come playoff time,

(37:58):
we make our picks and make with the Nets. But um,
I certainly the Nets couldn't be the favorite. I don't.
I don't think they would. Anybody would pick them as
the favorite if Durant. The way that they're playing, even
without Durant, it's just unbelievable to me that well. But
I'm so as you tak you know what I mean,

(38:20):
But they'd have a shot. But you taught I have
like Kyrie who'd won a championship. They don't have. I
mean those guys, and I know Durant, I mean, um,
Hardness struggled in the postseason, but man, the way he's playing,
I'm just saying Kyrie struggled that time. He's struggled in
Boston in the postseason. They obviously hit, but he just went.
But he did win a championship. Meant they could. I

(38:42):
never would say they couldn't because you say that they
got two phenomenal players and some role players that are improving.
But um, they wouldn't be the favorite. I think they
still be the favorites in the East probably, you know,
but um, you know, look if they if Durant didn't
play in the second half of the season and they
kept rolling like this, then maybe they'd entered the playoffs

(39:02):
as a favorite. But they're gonna need him. I think
he's the most important players as great as Harden and
Kyrie have Ben and you and I both think Harden
has to be an MVP conversation, KD is the guy.
He's their best player. All right, have a great weekend, Rob,
have fund in New Orleans. Be safe. We'll see you
guys next week. Peace,
