you'll be inspired. It's all of that and more. Let me,

(01:32):
welcome in my partner, mister Rob Parker. What's up man,
what's happening? Mister Chris Bussard, I am great, man, I
am great. One yea twenty four or forty eight hours
from me, so much happening. But New Orleans was great,
great food. When'd you get back Sunday or Saturday? Sunday Sunday, Yeah,
late afternoon food. Yeah, great food. And then I was

(01:55):
able to see a lot of people, you know, up
to a family and a couple of five people in
the business or just yeah, yeah, family. I had family
on a Saturday, had lunch with some people in our business,
and then had breakfast with some other people from our business.
So it was great. It was a great trip. It
was nice. Antonio Daniels called me and Chris I just

(02:18):
we just he called. I didn't recognize his number because
I didn't haven't locked in, so I kind of ignored
that number. And then I realized it was him, and
it was too late, so I kind of screwed that up.
But he was in. He was in New Orleans, so
I could have got a chance to see him. And
then of course today was a big announcement of my
new website. I want people to give it it takes.

(02:41):
It's gonna be a month before it's up and running.
It's called MLB bro dot com Brro and it's basically
gonna highlight the journey of black players in the major leagues,
their journey, the culture and their present or just it's

(03:01):
mostly present, but we're gonna have some context to it,
so there'll be some you know, talk about some older
players as well, So we're doing that. I'm excited that
the response was huge today when we put on social media.
In fact, I'm gonna make an appearance on the MLB's
Morning show on Wednesday to talk more about it on
MC network, So that's good for the website. So we'll

(03:23):
do that. And then last today, class stephen A zoomed
my class. Chris, you know you came in last year.
Stephen Au talked to the class today and that was
that was really good. He was he was great, he
was He went on and he was very as you know,
Chris already very complimentary about the eye couple, and when

(03:44):
he's in the car, he doesn't he's not afraid to
admit he's listening and he likes to show. So that
was it. Man, busy day, yes, and a lot to do. Well.
Congratulations on the website. I'm looking forward to checking out
the content. Man, that'll be great and much eat it
in this day and age. So that's that's good man. Congratulations.
All right. We got the Eye Couple crew DJ Alex

(04:06):
Tisher on the Ones and the twos, A Alex the
Vegan on This Magic City Monday, super Producer, Rob Ge
running things and on the updates. The queazy Brian Finley
on the updates. All right, I'm glad you called him queasy,
because that's that's perfect that world, he said the Land

(04:29):
of Hawks ro off to a queasy fort Z the
twenty starts, so I wouldn't I just say he's queasy
when he starts throwing off these words. He's not sure,
but anyway, all right, Rob jj Wrott. Finally, finally, the
most I'm trying to think, I mean, off the top
of my head, but the most sought after free agent

(04:51):
at this point, or at least one of them. What
are you saying, because I really, well, at this point
I'm thinking, you know, most of the guys are trades.
You know, Dak biggest name. You know, Dak's obviously under
the franchise Tag and H Russell and Sean Watson and
Carson Wentz. These all guys that were traded or could

(05:13):
be so yeah, among the free guys, h he might
be certainly the biggest name. But anyway, he signed Rob
he loud. Wait a minute, who let me see did
he go to Green Bay? Did he go to Tampa Bay?
Did he go to I'm trying to figure out like
holding up those teams. Well, I'm trying to bring up
like teams that maybe have a shot next year to win.

(05:36):
Who else can we say, uh, you'll you'll probably go
through about twenty teams before you get to the one
he signed. Wait a minute, I thought he was trying
to win. That video close, but I thought he was
trying to win. It's not an you the news and
then you can go off. He signed J. J. Wat
sign the two year, thirty one million dollars deal. Remember

(05:59):
we were thinking, there's no way he's getting fifteen sixteen
million like it was reported. But he got that twenty
three million of it guaranteed. And he goes rib to
the Arizona Cardinals, who were eight and eight last year.
Wait a minute, the eighth according to the odds, they
have the eighth best odds of winning the NFC, which

(06:22):
of course means they wouldn't make the playoffs because only
seven make the playoffs in East Conference. So there you
have it. Have at him. Wait a minute, I think
JJ Watt thought he was going to the Saint Louis
Cardinals because they're good and they have a chance to win. Oh,
wait a minute, that's baseball. Everything's not funny. Wait a minute.

(06:48):
I'm scratching my head and it has nothing to do
with dandruff. Wait a minute, JJ Watt, I thought you
were trying to win. It wasn't about money. You were
gonna make seventeen million in Houston. So you went where
to Arizona with a lesser quarterback than you had in Houston?

(07:09):
Is that where you're going to win? Hey? Is this
on J. J. Watt? Until further notice? You're f f
WAT as in fraud, fraudulent wat, a fraud. You wasn't
supposed to go to a money didn't matter. You made

(07:30):
over one hundred million dollars already. What do you care?
You're trying to win. Your years are dwindling in football.
You know what? Take a one year deal with a
with a contender Chris and then if you want to
play more and make more money, I thought that was
the move. So basically, you took six million dollars more

(07:50):
to go to a team that probably worse off than
you are. And the team that you were with is that,
at least quarterback wise, what guy is as much more
proven than the other kid? Right? Would you say that? So?
Uh so, I don't understand this whole. I want to
win and what was it tweeted out that money was

(08:12):
a third or fourth thing on a word tweeted it
was third, but it was always it was there, it
wasn't but it wasn't third obviously, because why would you
go to the Cardinals unless you just want to go
to the desert and hang out because it ain't about winning.
No super Bowl out there. I'm disappointed in jj Watt.

(08:34):
I thought he was serious about winning and instead it's
always better with the cheddar. That's what JJ Watt told
us today. Wow, wow, why right? Let me let me,
let me let me try to temper this a little bit,
all right? These were his three priorities robbed. According to
ed Werder's tweet last week, number one quarterback now You're right.

(08:57):
Obviously Deshaun Watson is better than Kyler Murray. However, he
knew that Sean was not gonna play in Houston anymore, right,
so maybe give him an two supporting personnel. That's where
you're running into some missues because obviously other teams that
were seeking after him, from Green Bay to Tampa Bay,

(09:18):
to New Orleans to Cleveland had even the Pittsburgh had
better supporting personnel. And then three was money. Here's what
I'll say is this, Rob, I would like to know
what the difference was between the offers, if indeed he

(09:43):
got other offers, like was was the What if a
contended I'm gonna throw this at you. What if a
contender the most either of the contenders was offering would
say two years eleven million, seven million guaranteed, or a
hack even one year. We're offering your one year eleven million,

(10:04):
seven million guarantee, and if you can get to eleven
with some incentives. What if it was that and you're
a guy, Rob, and you know this, you have said
get every last dollar. It's about making money. But then
would you be cool with it? Now that he said, look,
I want to win, but this is twenty. This is

(10:27):
a huge difference in loop so because because my thing is, well,
which one is it? Because if it's really just about winning,
that it doesn't never jest one. Well, I mean, but
there you know that, Rob, it's always a mixture. Actually,
that tweet if you really read it the right way,
and I'm not saying you read it wrong, but it

(10:48):
says that his priority is winning a Super Bowl. So
that would be one. Quarterback would be two, supporting person
that would be three, and money would actually be fourth.
If you talk about the way that that tweet from
Edward or came out. That's all I'm saying. No, r
So money really was way higher because they didn't Arizona
didn't make the playoffs last year, right, and um, I

(11:13):
just don't look at that as like a team that
has a chance to win a Super Bowl anytime soon.
So he went for the twenty three million guarantee. I
don't know, Chris, Maybe nobody wanted him, maybe maybe Maybe
what's likely is that they wanted him, but at a
bargain price. Well, but that's what you gotta about to

(11:34):
jump on the bandwagon, Chris. You gotta take a discount
to make it work. I'll say this though, and I'm
with you in that. You know, we'll see what playoff
picks come our way when we make our picks. But
Arizona certainly is not even close to being a favorite
in the NFC. We all know that. In fact, they're
the They're picked fourth. They have the fourth best odds

(11:57):
in their division of winning their division, so there's supposed
to be, according to the odds, at least last in
their division. Let me say this though, Kyler Murray is
a promising quarterback. Obviously, DeAndre Hopkins is one of the
best and some might say the best receiver in the league.

(12:17):
That defense was like twelfth in points allowed. So you
add him, who even though he doesn't get the sacks
he used to get, he is gonna make that running
defense even better. And he's still gonna make the past
defense better too because he still gets to the quarterback.
Not as many sacks, mean he gets some QB hits,
some rushes, some hurries, things like that. And don't get

(12:40):
me wrong, I get it because if you want to win,
you to win to Tampa, Green Bay, heck even Cleveland.
You could just Pittsburgh dis about five or six teams.
What I could say, Okay, that makes sense. He went
to Cleveland, they won eleven games last year. I want
a playoff game. I guess there's no guarantee no matter

(13:01):
where you're going, as you've said often. But I'll just
say that, it's not like he went to Jacksonville. It's
not like he went to you know, Cincinnati. Like Arizona,
they want to win the Super Bowl next year they
make the playoffs, they could make the playoffs. But to
your point, and I'm just trying to look at this
whole thing, he was in the playoffs a lot in Houston,

(13:24):
they went for sears. He was in a lot. So
it's not like he's just hasn't ever made the playoffs.
So look, he went for the loop. It's just as
simple as that. I bet you that the contenders ride.
We're only offering I don't know. I don't want to
say lead minium, but it wasn't. It probably wasn't a
lot of fight, a haircut and a one year deal. Chris.
Remember this guy hasn't been on the field often last

(13:46):
couple of years either, So they might be not where
Arizona might be out of their minds because right he's
been hurt a lot. He's been hurt when you say
a one year deal. Sometimes teams play what I call
the bad team tax. And I'm not saying that Arizona's
a dog, but they didn't make the playoffs. So Chris,
you wind up paying a little bit more in order
to lure people, do you know what I mean? Like,

(14:07):
you're not coming off a playoff playoff fraud or a
playoff win, so you don't have that to offer, even
though that personnel is not bad, especially with a guy
who's saying this all about winning, you know what I'm saying, Hey,
you definitely gotta ask some millions on there to get him.
All right, what do you guys think? Eight seven, seven

(14:27):
ninety nine or in Fox eight seven, seven, nine nine,
six sixty three sixty nine? Is jj Watt a fraud?
As Rod called him? The fraud? You called him a
fraudulent fraud, fraudulent ffow. That's when we're at now, fraudulent
frauds like Brian Finley up in here, all right? Is
JJ Watt a fraud for taking the money from the

(14:50):
Arizona Cardinals? Who why not Hapless Art one of the
favorites to getting near the super Bowl? They probably won't.
Even Rob and I will get closer to the Super
Bowl to Arizona. If we we gotta do radio row,
we'll be there on radio road. Arizona won't be anywhere
near to super Bowl. All right, We'll continue the conversation

(15:10):
with you. Next is Chris and Rob The Couple Fox
Sports Radio. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker weekdays at
seven pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
and the iHeartRadio App. Hey, what's up everybody? It's me
three time pro bowler LeVar Rington and I couldn't be
more excited to announce a new podcast called Up on Game.

(15:33):
What is Up on Game? You asked, along with my
fellow pro bowler t J. Huschman Zata and Super Bowl
champion Yep, that's right, Plexico Birds. You can only name
a show with that type of talent on it. Up
on Game. We're going to be sharing our real life
experiences loaded with teachable moments. Listen to Up on Game

(15:53):
with Me, LeVar Arrington, t J. Hudschman Zatta and Plexico
Birds on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast or wherever you
get your podcast from all right, it's a Magic City Monday,
and we're coming to you live from the Farmers Insurance
Fox Scors Radio Studios. And he didn't down in Oran

(16:15):
and know you didn't go did not? Okay, I'm rubbing
off on you. Huh nah. They just couldn't spot. That's all.
We call Farmers today for a quote. All right, eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox you're turned away in
its JJ why as Rob called him a fraudulent fraud

(16:38):
were signing with the eras on the Cardinals and let's
just keep it real, going for the money, no doubt.
All right, Dre in Michigan. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Drey? Hey what a dude?
Fellows y'all out right? What up? Bro? That's good? Hey Rob?
You Jamaica queens. Yes, because you got more jobs in
a little bit dog, you got more podcasts and website

(16:59):
the needy. I know, I think I know that I
can't but with you, brother, oh, I know you ain't talking. Chris.
You got more jobs to with all them first takes
and undisputed man, it's ridiculous when you do. You got
opportunities though, you know what I'm saying, When you get do,

(17:21):
you get opportunities. But when it comes to Jay j
I don't think he's being fraud on that at all.
I think he just found the best of both worlds
because Arizona is an up and coming team. It gives
him a chance to be a contributor, not just jumping
on the bandwackon, and he get paid at the same time.
So I think he just did you know, he just
took the Optimore situation. But the only problem, there's only
the weird that you pick a team that didn't even

(17:44):
make the playoffs last year. That that That's all I'm saying, Like, like,
but didn't con Brady pickerteam that didn't make the playoffs? Yeah,
but that's a little bit. That's a different as a
quarterback like this obviously why it's gonna make them better.
But the impact that a player like him will have
versus a quarterback with Brady's pedigree just it's just you
can't compare him. But look, I'm not gonna kill him

(18:07):
because Rob. I just think the difference was probably huge,
you know what I mean. No, I think the difference
in money was humongous and I'm with you. I've said
many times on this show, you jumped on me sometimes
when I'll take Yeah, if I'm happy in the situation,
i'll take less money. Um. So, I'm not saying you
can't ever do it, but I'm guessing that the difference

(18:30):
was huge. And look, you're right. If it was strictly
about winning the Super Bowl and your eleventh year, you
know you only got a few years left. You the
went to one of those contenders. But I bet you
the offers weren't weren't that nice? They probably weren't there. No,
Michael and New Mexico, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Michael? Hey, guys, thanks for

(18:50):
taking my call. Your show has really grown on me.
Um Um, I think it's a couple of things. It's
certainly wanting more money, and I think the Cardinals overpaid him.
Because you're feeling a GM and a coach on a
hot seat. No, yeah, I don't. So what are your
thought like? You you're a Cardinals fan, obviously, Robbing I

(19:13):
followed them as well, but you may follow them even closer.
How close do you think they are? I mean, not
to win in a Super Bowl but you know to
making the playoffs, being maybe a deep postseason team. Well,
they're a long way from being a deep postseason team.
It really takes. It's gonna take for the team to
get over the hump here um a good six seven

(19:37):
wins in a road to get some confidence to get
in a groove. Whether Watch can help him do that,
he can help. I don't know that he's going to
get him over that hump. Yeah, it's not like, oh
my god, we got JJ watch today. We're going to
the NFC Championships. Right that did that? Didn't happen? Hey,
Lee Roy in Birmingham, Alabama. You're in the couple of

(19:59):
Fox Sports Rade. What's up? Lee? Right? They're going Rob.
I'm glad I made it first time caller. I've been
listening since the beginning. Yea, you man don't make its.
Thanks Lee Roy. We appreciate the support. I appreciate you
guys so much. You guys now I'm a young feeling.
You guys made me appreciate radio. You know, my era

(20:20):
we didn't listen to radio. Appreciate it. And I want
to give a big shout out to Rob Rob Partner
for making me, for putting me on a baseball and
making putting. He got a new fan just by appreciating
that he putting on it. He's turned a young feeling
into baseball. I love. I love to hear that, my man,
and I hope that you check out MLB bro dot
com when we debut. Yes, sir, I will now to J. J. Watt.

(20:45):
I want to talk about J. J. Watt. Now, he's
the most fraudulent of all times. That's that's a little
bit strong. I want to hear this, Chris, let me
hear this. He did. He did. He did all that

(21:07):
peacocking online so we could see him smooth the other
to d to the Sean Watson and say, hey man,
he knows he's got the mic on him. Hey, him
saying that is selad and racing your thing and made
you and we wasted your years here, buddy. He did that,
you know, so everybody can see him. Hey, he's a
big stand up guy. And when he said he wants

(21:28):
to get out, he wanted to go and win. How
can you win? And you go to the Arizona carters,
everybody knows you go out. It's like the mob. Everybody
goes to the digital where his bodies go to go
to diet. You're going out to Arizona to in your
career to get to get some paper. You're not gonna
smil the playoffs. Just like that that guy they didn't
want to bet the Jordan with you Wall. He knew

(21:49):
that there wasn't gonna do anything right. He wanted he
was talking, but he wanted part of it right. Well,
they got the Rams, who are gonna be good obviously
something some people think Rams might make the Super Bowl
San Francisco if Jimmy g is healthy. Rob They're gonna

(22:09):
be tough. I mean, I'm just talking about in this
division right right right, so they are. Honestly, when I
look at that and I like Kyler Murray, you know
he came back to Earth right towards the end of
the season. But I gotta be honest, when I look
at those teams, I do think they're probably the fourth best.

(22:31):
They're probably the fourth best in their division. So yeah,
can I give you a stat. Let me give it
a quick stat. Okay, Since nineteen ninety eight, that's twenty
three years Arizona Cardinals have been in the playoffs. How
many times? Chris and Since nine eight, um twenty three years.

(22:53):
I'm gonna guess by four you had it right for
five out of twenty three years. That's all I'm just saying.
You can say, yeah, it's a new day then Kyler
Murray all you want, but those are just the hard fact. No,
that's that's real talk. That's real talk. All right. Speaking
to real talk, we got our man, Ryan Holland's coming

(23:17):
up next. He had COVID last week and we'll see
how he's doing doing all right, d is good. Fox
Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation.
Catch all of our shows at Fox sports Radio dot
com and within the iHeart Radio app search f SR
to listen live. He was a ten year NBA veteran

(23:38):
NBA analyst. I'm gonna say this and if he wants
to chime in as he comes on, he can, and
I'm and I'm meeting this rob Ryan was a solid player.
We know Ryan wasn't a star, you know, a regular starter.
All everybody's not going to be a star, it's all right,
But had he played today, and I'm serious, I'm not

(23:59):
trying to gass him up and all that, had he
played today where bigs on the perimeter, handling the ball,
shooting the rock. I think he would have had a
better career. Ryan, Am I bugging or do you even
want to address that or not? Ryan Hollins, Nah, I
mean I think that was your game, right Yeah, no, no, no,

(24:23):
I think even as this, I think my skill set
would would still be valued. I'm just just an old
man now. But you know, it's funny. I was up
at UCLA when I was younger, and I would I
would take the ball and go full court and just
you know, fly flying dunk on somebody. And I remember
I went full courting dunks and Mitchell Butler goes, why

(24:47):
would you ever do that? You're never gonna do that
in the game, you know, get under the rim and
just you know, just uh, you know, shoot a jump hook.
And I'm and I was thinking back, like, hey man,
a big guy at LEAs if not just the shooting,
but the ball handling and playmaking aspect, you know, comes
out of value, you know, And these guys are being

(25:08):
rewarded for being basketball player because you know what's weird, right,
Like my high school coach never treated me like a
seven footer. I used to have to guard the guards
on a perimeter, so, uh, you know, I didn't know
I was anything different. Right, so you had the guard skills.
But then NBA, yeah they well Rob that happened to
Detroit with dark or not that who knows what he

(25:28):
would have been, but right, he was a perimeter guy
in Larry Brown, I want to know part of being
a perimeter guy. And it just didn't work. But Ryan,
I'm glad you're feeling better. We did mention that you
were under the weather. Uh, and people should yeah, yeah,
are you good? Now? Are you okay? Man? That today
is the first day I would say, I'm probably really

(25:50):
turned the corner. But just COVID hits people in different fashions, man,
And I mean this this thing knocked me out and
just kept lingering. Man, And it does it feel like
the flu? Or is it worst? In it? Like? What? What?
What was it? I would say like stages of the
flu the worst thing that I can liken it too.

(26:11):
I felt like I was seventy or eighty years old. Man. Wow,
like just getting up and going to the bathroom, I
will be winded, I will be knocked out, I'll be tired,
you know, laying in bad and then you know, you
get up and you move around and you're kind of
catching your breath, so that's probably the toughest thing. And

(26:32):
then you know, just not getting up and moving around
the scene. That's that that was that's the hardest part.
And we're glad you're feeling better. Man. We'll definitely keep
you in our prayers. Let me ask you about no
doubt about it for real? Uh, with the absence of
a D, do we is Ad really the MVP of

(26:52):
the Lakers or the stir that the stir the straw
that stirs the drink, or is it Lebron? Because we
saw them fall apart and I know they had some
injuries or whatever, but it seems like a D is
maybe a bigger part of this team than we thought of.
Is that fair enough? You? No? See, I don't think
that's fair because the one thing that this team, if

(27:15):
you had a full Laker roster, no Lebron James, things
would fall apart from the scenes. It wouldn't even be comical, guys,
we would be we would be calling for Vogel's head
and questioning what they have in the roster. The biggest
knock that the Lakers had during that that little time
out is losing Schroulder too, and that's the secondary ball handler.

(27:38):
That's the guy who who had created some offense. And
now you started to really see the holes in the
Lakers defense as far as Garden to paint so offensively
without Schrolder, that's something they kind of couldn't go without.
Maybe Schrolder and a D could hold something down for
a little while. That's a decent enough roster there, But

(28:01):
you know, with a D. You see he had a
D makes Lebron comfortable in the sense that his his
activity finishing the basket, finishing around the rim, running, doing
doing all the little things. Guys. So Rob, I'm not
going as far as to say he's not the the MVP,
but he is. Uh. He has a big place in

(28:22):
that Lakers roster. But you don't launch your darn mine
if you if you think he's more important than Lebron.
I remember when before a D came. I remember, the
Lakers didn't even make the playoffs with Lebron. You remember
that year. But that's his other story. Ye the second
best player. Man, I'm just saying, all let's go, let's

(28:44):
let's go to Milwaukee. They played yesterday and obviously Yannis
closed the game well, seventeen points in the fourth, but
obviously he's still not what you would call a closer.
And I see the same issues with Milwaukee. I just
think in the playoffs, teams are gonna try to make
him close and he's not gonna be able to. Um.

(29:05):
I think they're the third best team in the East,
behind Brooklyn and Philadelphia. I'm not saying it's impossible for
them to win it, because they are a legitimate contender,
but are you with me on their spot in the East?
And I mean, this is gonna be another disappointing postseason
for them, probably or do you think that they could
win the East? They have improved enough And um, I'm

(29:28):
I'm I'm a little off on him. They may they
might be behind Boston. I think, really if Boston gets
it together, obviously, but yeah, yeah, if Boston gets it together, Yeah,
I think outside of the Nets now they've really emerged.
Those teams are really just kind of gonna be fighting
it out. But now Milwaukee has not made uh, you know,

(29:50):
vast improvements. I believe that Drew Holliday come playoff time
is gonna really help relieve Jannis. But at the end
of the day, man like I love Drew, I love Middleton,
but that guy has to be Yannis and Yannis even
though those two are better off of the bounce, scoring

(30:11):
and probably being effective. Come playoff time cut come you know,
last two minutes of a basketball time. Uh, it's just
not going to work out. And this is what's tougher.
And I remember I said this, guys, it's tough for
Zion and it's tough for Yannis. Is they didn't have

(30:31):
it in the off season. So because of COVID, normally
it's a star like Uh, Yannis would have went into
the off season. We said, man, go work on your
jump shot, go come back with something that you didn't
have before. There was no real off season, guys. There
weren't real training facilities. They didn't have the chance to
go in and really improve. So it was really unfair

(30:54):
for Yannis. If he bounced right back, that is gonna
be the same guy. You know what, Hey, last thing
we got about a minute or so, Uh, Lloyd Pierce
was fired right from the from the hawk Hawks and
you know, people say, oh, you know, it's a halfway
point and there what fourteen and twenty, But they made

(31:18):
some moves in the offseason. I don't think people thought
they would be eleven right, and they got off Chris
what was their start earl? Yeah, what happened in Atlanta
because it's not pretty there. Trey Young's leadership, he just
got his coach fired. Man, I'm a big component, a

(31:39):
big fan of Trey Young, but he's gonna have to
find a way to get those guys to play hard
in play for him. And I understand, you know, there's
some questions there with his attitude, amongst the way that
he treats his his teammates in the locker room. So
I'm a big fan of Trey. I think he's a

(31:59):
great guy, but I think at that age you start
have to learn how to lead and it's not just
about how skilled or how talented you are. You got
to put that in the wins and losses and you
gotta leading with your humility. Now, you put your heart
and hat on when his time, but you know, you
gotta lead with some humility. So I know Trey and

(32:20):
that young roster, those young guys, they're gonna have to
find a way to work around him. So I'm I'm
I'm a big fan of Trede. I'm a big fan
of Atlantic getting it together. But as a leader, he's
got to be better because there's no way that team
should be that bad. And I don't put that one
hundred percent on Lloyd Pierce. And now you're gonna see
Nate McMillan, a guy who I've competed against and honestly

(32:42):
I thought was gonna draft me, sat me down and
told me he was drafting me. By the way, I
think that's exactly why Nat has come in there to
really kind of put his hands his reins on that organization.
All right, that's our man, Ryan, great stuff. Man. We
appreciate man. Yeah, yeah, hey, man, appreciate you guys. Man. Yeah. Yeah.

(33:03):
Y'all kept me up when I was out. Man, I'm
just listening to the show man, all right, brother, thank
you man. Peace. All right. They're comparing him to Larry
Bird Summer even calling him Luca Legend. No way, no,
how should we be venturing there? That's next. I couple

Magic City. Monday, we are coming to you live from
the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. You can call

(33:48):
one A eight Farmers to switch and you can save
a bundle on your car insurance. All right, Rob, They're
on right now. I'm actually washing them. Dallas forty six
Orlando forty one. Of course, you know that Luca don
Chich is doing his fang rob in the month of February.
These were Luca's numbers thirty points, eight assists, seven rebounds,

(34:14):
forty eight percent shooting, forty three and a half percent
shooting from three and the Dallas Mavericks went one, two, three, four, five,
six of eight and four during the month of February.
And that's not the reason these comparisons are out there.
They've started long before this month. I actually have been

(34:38):
calling him Luca Legend for quite some time, stopping White
no because he can ball. Stephen A. Smith's comparing him
to Larry Bird. Rick Carlile, his coach who played with
Larry Bird. Sansy reminds him of Larry Bird. Cedric Maxwell,
you won a championship at least, Cedric know how many

(35:00):
one with Bird, But he won. He was the MVP
of the finals in Bird's first championship. Cedric Maxwell, Yeah,
because he's saying he's like Larry Bird. He got it
for towel waving, right he was, and Cric Cedric was
bawling that what you're talking about? Email? Car Oh yeah, yeah,
Email was the mascot, with all due respect, but the

(35:22):
comparison rob is out there. Luca was asked about do
we have sound of that robber or not? Okay, Luca
was asked about it, and look, he was humble. He's
a good sound. He said the right thing. He said, Look,
it's too soon. It's way too soon for me to
be being compared to Larry Bird. I'm glad he said it.

(35:43):
That's the smart thing to say. What but he looks
like saying, yeah, you know I am a lot like Bird. No, No,
when you got a guy like birdles accomplished Chris as
much as he has, there's no there's no reason for
young player to put that much press on himself. Absolutely,
he said the right thing. I'm not Larry Bird, and

(36:03):
I'm not saying Chris that he's Adam Morrison or whatever.
Now you and me, he can ball. He's one, I agree,
But he was also compared to Larry Bird. You remember that, right,
Oh yeah yeah, And people were way off this this
kid just one then that you know, he was a
white kid with a scraggly mustache and they called him

(36:25):
the next Larry Bird. I just remember as Bird was
a white kid with a scraggly right. But but but
Adam Morrison, I don't think Chris, did he really ever
get off? And he never know? And Mike Jordan drafted him,
right like juame Adam Morrison, you know he got one. Yeah,

(36:49):
so it's working out. But yeah, I'm I'm I'm one
of those guys. I would just take some time. I
understand why people do it with comparisons. Could you see
somebody and you always want to say, well, who does
it remind me of? And who does he play like?
So that's always out there, Chris and I get it.
But I'm yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna wait on Larry

(37:11):
Legend or Luca le Well, you know, Rob this is
and as I said, I'm just being honest. I don't
know if I said it on the air or I
said it to you in our pre show meeting. Yeah,
well you said it. I would not be comparing him
to Larry Bird. If he wasn't white, I would be
comparing him to greats. I might compare him the Magic Johnson,

(37:33):
you know, big six to eight guy handling the basketball.
Obviously shoots it better than Magic. But you know, I
might be comparing him to James Harden or nobody like that.
But here's the thing, Rob, and I want your opinion
on this, And he's not the best player in the
world right now, but he could be. You know, he

(37:53):
could end up, I don't know, four or five years
from now, three years whatever, being the best player in
the world or certainly very strongly in that discussion. And
the last white player in that discussion was Larry Bird.
That's why a lot of the comparisons are out there. Yeah,
you do you agree with that that he he has
that type of potential. I don't know about being the

(38:16):
best player in the world, but he's a hell of
a player so far. It just takes a wall and
it takes It's gonna come down the wins. That's what
he's gonna come down to. Burd won a championship is
second year. Now. Bird went to a team stacked with
Hall of famers. They were old, they were bad the
year before he got there, and he turned around immediately.

(38:38):
But then he got McHale in parish in tiny Archibald
and they won the championship. Keep it locked two hours left.
