(00:21):
s R. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. It is
The Odd Couple. On a Funky Flashback Friday, Rob Parker
and Martin Weiss in for mister Chris Broussard, and we're
coming to you live from the Fox Sports Radio studios

(00:45):
on this funky Flashback Friday. We got Alex digging into crates,
as Chris loves to say. And this hour we're gonna
talk a little Aaron Rodgers, we got the foul of
Fair with j R. Gamble, the managing editor from MLB
bro dot com, and a little shop talk. We're gonna

(01:06):
talk about my little lunch escapade that Martin wound up
ripping me on Twitter, so we'll get into that as well. Well.
You bothered by that? Did I show my age there?
Or now give it all away? I'm not even That's
not an old man thing. That's just a ridiculous man. Okay,
we're gonna talk about that sooner. First let's start, uh

(01:29):
this Al Martin with the Aaron Rodgers saga. We just
talked with James Jones, who's in contact with Aaron Rodgers
their friends. He says he's spoken to him and talked
to him. So you know, what's being portrayed out there
isn't exactly all the way the truth coming from James Jones.
But Rich Eyes And on his radio show, I guess,

(01:50):
said that Aaron Rodgers prefers to go to the AFC
West so that he can challenge Patrick Mahomes a couple
of times a year. That's what he's wants to looking for.
But Rob, dude, you got more details on this, and
then Martin and I will talk about it. Yeah, rich
Isisen was on his show and he was talking about
possible trade destinations that we all know that in Vegas

(02:13):
at least if Aaron Rodgers were to leave the Packers.
The favorite right now is the Denver Broncos number. Don't
forget Slayers had to report on that radio show, you
remember saying that it was almost done or whatever like
this was of course a week ago, but it happened, right.
So not only do they have a need at quarterback
because the only quarterbacks are Tay Bridgewater and Drew Locke,

(02:33):
but they also have I think, I believe all their
first round picks going forward, they got a lot of
young talent that they could possibly include in the package.
So it makes sense why that would be a good fit.
Well Rich was on his show talking about it and
he said, quote, Aaron Rodgers would happily go to Denver.
They got the weapons, they've got the spot, and he
doesn't care that it's in Pat Mahomes's division. He'd actually

(02:55):
love to personally beat Mahomes. He would love to send
him to the Wild Car every single year. That is interesting.
The only thing I'll say is you gotta be careful
what you're wishing for, because I think, um the division
he owns, the NFC North, and I know the Vikings

(03:18):
won a couple of times right in that division, Martin
were very come We're very close to the NFC North
is Aaron Rodgers. By Aaron Rodgers alone, And just think
about this, we talk about all the time. You know,
Matthew Stafford was the Savior of the Rams, played twelve
years in the NFC North and never won a division,
not not one. So yes, so he You know, when

(03:39):
the Packers looked at the schedule and the Bears and Vikings,
sometimes they were good, sometimes they were bad. The Lions
were always bad. It was one of those divisions where
you knew you wouldn't get a certain amount of wins
before you even start. I don't know about going to
the AFC West. I'm not saying that Aaron's afraid of
competition or he wants easy Street as Tom Brady had
in the AFC leased his entire we are where they

(04:01):
basically had six wins before the season started. But would
you be cool with this the idea of going and
up against Kansas? That honestly is part of the reason
why I asked James Jones just how much of this
is kind of smoke and no fire? How much of
this is is parlor games and Game of Thrones type stuff?
Because who would want this? Like? Who? I mean? Don't

(04:24):
get me wrong, I'm not saying that Aaron Rodgers is
running from competition, right, but why would you last? Yea,
and so he's at the top of the game, right
he but you I don't think that I don't imagine
that when Tom Brady went to Tampa Bay, that Drew
Brees even played a factor in his decision is the
fact that he was the New Orleans quarterback or any
other quarterback in those divisions, because Tampa Bay was the

(04:44):
best place for him to go, Right, Like if if
Aaron Rodgers goes to Denver, because Denver has man Childs
in the front seven with Chubb and von Miller and
and and the guy that the guy that drafted I
can't remember his name, but they have a great defense.
They have all types of offense, and like that makes sense,
they have all Jerry Judy all those weapons on offense.
I understand that. But if you're telling me he wants

(05:06):
to go to Denver so that way he can go
play at homes twice a year. And don't forget Justin
Herbert twice a year or two. Just came off a
pretty impressive rookie season. Right, that's also that's your that's
that that that's illogical. You want to send it to
the wild card, you have to make sure you're not
the wild card. That's four potential losses. Whereas, like you
said before, the Lions and Packers are gonna scoop the Lions,

(05:27):
and with the Bears and the Vikings, you're gonna win
two of those games, You're more than likely you're gonna
split with those teams. Drew the Green Bay Packers year
in year out Right, that doesn't make any sense now,
It just sounds a lot of hyperberbly, you know, like, yeah,
I mean, I don't I don't doubt for one minute
that Aaron's as competitive as anybody else. But he has

(05:47):
a good team, right, that went to the NFC Championship
the last two years. They brought back Aaron Jones, so
they didn't they could have let him go, right if
they wanted to Martin Right, they have all the running
back to a younger and cheaper so there's a lot
of things that they have going right. And Aaron doesn't
look like he's slowing down again. He sat his first

(06:08):
three years. He's a young thirty seven. He is I
also had he's had a couple of injuries, but but
broken collar bones. But he's a young thirty seven. And
I'll be honest, like to me, I don't know, I've
asked as someone who never played football, a broken bone
is a little bit less concerning to me. Than like
so more of the soft tissue injuries. Right when you
see a guy continually getting hamstrings or something wrong with

(06:29):
his arm, like more like a broken collar bone. If
it breaks clean, in theory, you should be able to
come back clean. It's part of one of the reasons
why I'm not super concerned about Dak Prescott and his ankle,
Like I feel like he should be should be okay
and be able to still be playing at a high level.
But the thing about it just it it makes no rob.
I understand that men are proud and and and when
you get to these levels of jobs, there's only thirty

(06:51):
of them both only thirty two of them started quarterbacks
and gms. But I just can't imagine, Like if the
Green Bay Packers had an owner, what do you think
would be the answer here to this situation, Like there's
no way that Aaron Rodgers is leaving Green Bay, but
if he were, like there's nobody, Like do you hear
about these people getting traded out of spite or dude,
they're gonna send him to like they sent Kawhi Leonard

(07:13):
to to NBA Siberia, right, Like who's the person that
would do that? If if You're like, who's the person's
gonna take Aaron Rodgers consideration into uh in consideration into
this the same guy that he apparently doesn't like the
GM Like, it's just so hard for me to see
this happening, No, no doubt. Well let's let's look at
this part. Okay, So you know all of his ex teammates,

(07:35):
we just talked to James Jones. You're all saying that
they believe he's going to come back and that it's
fixable Martin. But how will he be received from the
fans of Green Bay? This is what I'm interested in.
Will they look at him as the savior has returned?
My god, we kept our all time great quarterback. He's

(07:56):
going to give us a chance to win one more
Super Bowl maybe two before calls it quits. Or will
they be a little salty? Look? Will they have planners
online one? If they does, there was talk that that
maybe he was ready to move on and that maybe he,
you know, he didn't like what was going on every
day it wants to be in southern California. If Green

(08:17):
Bay Packer fans feel the second way, then what are
you doing? Like? What are you here for? Why are
you what are you like? Why are you watching the Packers?
Do you not want to win games? Do you not
want to try to have a team that could compete
for the Super Bowl? Because I'll tell you this, for
the last what I don't know, approximately six or so years,
I've been I'm a Saye fan my whole life, but
for the past six or so years, we've had a

(08:38):
team that legitimately could compete for the Super Bowl. And
I'll tell you this, it's a lot better than the
first twenty four years or so of my life, where
the team absolutely sucked and you were going wearing bags
here heads to the stadium. Do you like you better
be thinking you're lucky stars that Aaron Rodgers maybe coming back,
especially when you have a GM that's drafted like nine

(08:59):
defense and players in the last ten years in the
first round. Now he's hit with a couple of them,
but nobody like the idea that you have this level
of a quarterback and the idea that you are not
going all in every year and year out to support
him like like the like the like the Ravens support
Lamar Jackson or the Chiefs have been supporting Patrick Mahomes
since he walked in the door. It's it's insanity. It

(09:21):
makes absolutely no sense. So if you're a Packers fan
and you're mad at this virtuos or talent, that's the
special talent that wants a little bit more out of
the people around him, I would be mad at the
guy who's pretty average and regular as a GM Like
I feel like there's an owner of the Packers. He
may not have a job based off the way that
he's been drafting the last couple of years. Yeah, but

(09:43):
but I hear you, and you make all logical sense.
But remember a fan is derived from the word fanatic,
so sometimes, you know, fans don't always think right. It's
the same way that fans are booing h Francisco Lindoor
in New York and the first month of his and
this guy signed a twelve year contract and you're already

(10:03):
booing the guy because he got off to a bad start.
My point is fans get emotional. And if they got
the sense at all that Green Bay wasn't good enough
and he wanted to go to Hollywood, or he wanted
to go to southern California, or he you know, he
wants to go to Malibu and live there and he
doesn't want to be in the frozen tundra. There could

(10:24):
be fans that Martin would be like school Aaron Rodgers,
you know what he don't telling us. We don't want him.
If you're one of these people, let me tell you
this because I first of all, I hope you have
a job in your game, fully employee, but I don't
know this. Most of you don't really care for your job.
And it may not be certainly what you're doing, but
a lot of times it's who you're working with. You
know what else? People do? They go on vacations. You

(10:46):
know where I wanted to be. When I was in
Detroit and it was February and it was cold, I
was going to work. I wanted to be in Malibu, California,
but I was going to work. Did I go to
work talking about man? I wanted to be amailable. This
sucks now that I live in California is a different story.
But when I was in Detroit going to work, that's
what I did. Aaron Rodgers is going to go to work.
He's going to be like I have no doubt in

(11:07):
my mind that, Like you think, Aaron Rodgers in week
ten is walking into Glambo field like damn man, I
wish I was, I wish I was on Vendor's beach like, No,
of course not. It's like, just like every other professional
football player, he's gonna work, he's gonna work at where
he lives, and then in the offseason he's gonna end
up going somewhere else like and going on vacation. But

(11:28):
the idea that like, there's a very clear I mean, rob,
how many quarterbacks in your life have you seen like
Aaron Rodgers. He's the best quarterback I've ever seen. I'm
just talking about skill set wise. He's not the most accomplished,
but skill set, I haven't seen many who can do
all the things that he was able to do and
has been able to do all his career as the
all time leading quarterback rating in the history of the NFL.

(11:51):
And so to me, there's only one answer to the
answer to this argument, and the answer it stops stops
and in the middle it's Aaron Rodgers making sure Aaron
Rodgers is happy. I get that, but fans are different,
and you know that if you feel like, if they
feel like a player is shunning them or they're not
good enough, there will be it happened with Kobe Bryant.

(12:13):
Kobe Bryant went went public, he went out and wanted
demanded the trade away from the Lakers. And when that
season started, and even though he wasn't traded and he stayed,
he heard bulls from the Laker faith and wrong for that.
They are wrong for that. He's on your team. He's
here right now. What do you want? I mean maybe

(12:34):
maybe maybe other people have never gone to like had
another job interview and brought that salary back to their
original original job and be like, hey, what can we
do here? It may not necessarily mean you hate what's
everything that's going on here? I mean, there's a reason
why he didn't demand the trade as soon as Jordan's
Love was drafted. There's a reason why he. Honestly, the
whole thing about him demanding the trade feels fabricated because

(12:56):
there's no news. It's all smoke. So like this just
the whole idea that the idea that like he's going
to pick probably though off the top of my head,
maybe the first, maybe the second best quarterback division, you know,
a top three for sure quarterback division in the league,
when at this point his main competition is a rookie

(13:17):
who've never really seen before in Justin Fields, Andy Dalton,
who we've seen enough to know he's not competition. And
Kirk Cousins, who I mean, he's Kirk Cousins. Like, I
just can't. It makes no sense to me, absolutely, And
I just think if I was a Packers fan, I
will be trying to I'll be trying to find where
Brian Gutenkouz is and to get him out of here.
All right, here we go. How do you think Aaron

(13:39):
Rodgers will be received if he decides to return to
Green Bay next season? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven, seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
We want to hear from you, and we'll continue this conversation.

(15:45):
want to know and want to get you involved. How
will Aaron Rodgers be perceived? Will he be the savior
who came back and bygones are bygones and now he's
gonna lead the package to another championship? Or well, people
you know, have their panties in a bunch that he's
threatened to leave, or he didn't like green Bay anymore,

(16:06):
and our Packer fans maybe their feelings got hurt. Listen,
I mean you need to get over it. How about that?
But you know what enough of me? Ian in Connecticut
Fox Sports Radio, this is the odd couple. What you got? Hey?
This is Ian and I actually just talked to my
ten year old daughter and we both agree that he's
the legend of Green Bay. While no one wants to

(16:30):
hear him walking away, we would welcome him back as
the savior because that's ultimately we want, right, I agree?
Is that your daughter. Yeah, put her on. Yep. I
think he made a legacy there and he should stay
there because that's his team. What about point? What's your name, Kelly,

(16:56):
Nice to meet you. That is a great point. Absolutely,
he has a legacy. I love that man. She knew
what she was talking about. That's awesome. Mark on the
odd couple? Uh this Fox Sports Radio? What you got
this for? Mark in Virginia? Yep? Hi, Rob? How are
you doing doing good tonight? How are you Mark? All right?

(17:17):
You're doing an excellent job holding down the fort. Thank you.
You're as shit I'm not real familiar with. I'm sorry,
but kudos. Also, thanks Matt. What you got man? What's up?
You know what it's It's pretty simple, you know, Rob.
I think you said it's a paraphrase that Aaron Rodgers
was a young thirty seven. You know what physically he
is and also emotionally, this guy is if I was

(17:39):
a narcissist, who could get his pompous you know, let's
just reverse the role. What if Baker Mayfield did this
in Cleveland? Well, oh my god, get rid of him
the bumm. He's so immature there and the Virginia just
a second here, Yeah, absolutely, because Baker Mayfield wasn't the
NFL MVP last year. Baker Mayfield wasn't it back to

(18:01):
back Energy Championship games. Baker Mayfield. They're debating on whether
or not they want to extend him without all of this.
Of course, Baker Mayfield can't get away with something like this,
or shouldn't be even trying to get away with something
like this. But the whole point of the matter is
is that there's like no one else in the world
that plays football like Aaron Rodgers. You got guys who
can do other things with the ball, but like Rob

(18:22):
just said the last segment, we've seen Aaron Rodgers do
things with the ball that you have rarely ever seen before.
You can't let that guy walk out of there. I
don't care what's wrong with him. Peop all right, So
I'm in the middle of a sentence and you just
ripped me a new one. Oh God, you can't even
let me finish himminy crickets. Give me a break trying

(18:42):
to use it. Well, thank you, thank you. I thought
you wanted calls coming in your way. I'm just simply
saying this man is very gifted, but he's also been
narcissistic as can be spoiled from a young age, obviously,
and now he's doing damage control. I love Green Bay.
Oh this was nothing to do to fans. And oh,
by the way, kind of using the third party to

(19:03):
do this, I'm simply saying, yeah, they're going to take
him back. No if Sander butts. But when you talk
about a maturity level, he's got a lot a lot
of room to a lot of room to grow. Let's
just put it that way, all right. I appreciate the
call him, Mark, thanks for calling him eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. SEEZ. I'm sorry, you know, maybe
I just don't be ripping off calls. Martin. You just

(19:25):
show up one day, rip call. I just thought, you know,
I thought, you know, sports talk radio. I didn't know
this was maybe this needs to just be a super
safe space. Scott and Antonio, you're on the a couple
of Fox Sports Radio. I'm sorry if I offend you
ahead of time, but what you got, buddy, right, Thanks
for the safe space. I was really worried about it.
Um No, my my take. I actually saw a report

(19:46):
today that businesses in Green Bay are offering like lifetime
free food and beer for Aaron Rodgers and Jaleene Woodley
if he stays in another year. I don't think the
people in Green Bay are that insecure that they would
take it personally if he's objecting the fact that he's
just not getting support from the front office, like he

(20:07):
they the team, like you said, like like eight out
of the last ten years is taking defense first round
and they're not don't do anything. They give him support basically,
Like I know the take is that he's one quarterback
scramble away from the super Bowl, But what if he
had justin Jefferson, what if he had one of these
top young wide receivers that throw two besides Davante Adams,

(20:30):
Like they could be that close to the super Bowl?
And then said they went defense again last year, Like yeah,
I mean that that's that's the fault. I think I
think the fans in Green Bay would treat the situation
a lot similar to what Detroit did with Matt Stafford.
Like the the fans in Detroit are happy and couldn't

(20:51):
wish anything better for Matt Stafford than what he gave them.
He struggled with the team and like he wasn't the winner,
He doesn't have the MVPs that that Aaron Rutgers had.
But the fans in Detroit are super happy for him
to have a chance to win with the with the
team like the Rams, and for Aaron Rutgers to get
that chance, say with San Francisco are more likely Denver.

(21:13):
Then I don't think the fans would would object and
see him as a to deify him like I don't,
I don't, Yeah, it'll, it'll, yeah. I think most of
the fans are are Aaron Rodgers fans. They love the Packers,
but I don't think that they're going to turn on him.
I think he'll be welcome back. Martin and his teammates.
Do we have any more? We got one more? Ryan

(21:34):
in Ohio Fox Sports Radio, the couple. What you got buddy?
What's going on? Man? Uh uh? I mean the fans
might be a low upset, so he thought the first
touchdown pass, you know, then they're all are gonna be
excited right before. I mean, come on, we're all fans.
But at the end of the day, it's tell Aaron
Rodgers the interational talent. Can't let him walk out the door. Man.

(21:58):
You know, see, I'm I'm with you, because go ahead,
go ahead. I want to Rob. I'm good. You won't
even say hi to Parker? Now, Man, stay Hi, what's
it's not the first woman afraid to talk to Rob? Hi?

(22:23):
I said, we're about to be when he were Ron
Parker and Martin Man. Yeah, I'm a Cleveland fan and
know what I'm saying. The little ruffles out of Cleveland.
Now Aaron Rodgers could make his way to Cleveland. Man, Wow,
I'd be shocked. I mean, all right, hey, we appreciate
the call you guys travel safe, all right, appreciate one

(22:44):
passionate fan base for another. But that would make more
sense AFC North than AFC West. Oh yeah, yeah, No,
definitely a FC West. I'd stay away from that. All right.
We're gonna switch gears to baseball. That's right. We've got
Foul or Fair with j R. Gamble come it up next.
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at

(23:06):

Search f SR to listen live. That ball is It
was a big week in the big leagues. Who's Who's
Is it foul or is it fair? And now here's

(23:28):
the odd couple with Shadow League dot Com MLB insider JR. Gamble,
that's right, it is foul a fair. The art couple
Fox Sports Radio segment we do every Friday at eight
thirty pm. Meter we go around the bases with the
real baseball expert, not that fraud Rob Parker. I don't
you gotta hey, we gotta get that sound were fixed,

(23:49):
because you know he's the managing editor of MLB broad
We'll get that fixed. Don't worry about We'll talk to
video about it. But you know we just talked about
him right now, none other than the man himself. JR.
Gamble Jr. What's up? Man? Are you doing? Fala fair?
What's up? Fellas? I'm here with the goat, Rob Parker
and the legend Marty White. So nice. You gotta say
it twice, my man. There we go now, Jared. You

(24:12):
can really see Martin just grinning ear to ear. He's
you're already to know? Yes, all right, So this segment's
very easy, mare. I don't know if you've done it yet.
We've got three baseball stories. If you think the story
is good, you like what I'm saying, You hear the
fair sounds fall If you don't like get the foul
sound that is a foul. It's eerily similar before a
few times. I don't know why we continue to do do.

(24:36):
All I want you to know is foul of fair
has been around long all I'm gonna tell you, Wow,
Rob Ge, we don't do it on the podcast. We
all we also do it on the podcast though. If
you like this style is segment, you can get it
multiple places with Rob Parker. That's all right, all right,
so let's get started, guys. Story number one Jr. You're
the experts. Do you get the first crack of this one?

(24:57):
Albert Poojos unceremoniously umped by the Angels yesterday. The Halo
has paid him two hundred and forty million dollars and
got exactly zero playoff victories out of it. It was
tough as a result. A lot of folks calling him
having the worst contract in Angel's history. However, seemed like
they had a short memory, because you know, the very

(25:17):
next season the Angels gave out a five year, one
hundred twenty five million dollars contracted Josh Hamilton. He didn't
even last three years there. So here's the question, is
if foul or fair to say that pool Holes had
the worst contract in Angel's history, that is a foul ball. Honestly,

(25:39):
I don't know every contract in Angel's history, and if
you do, kudos to you. But I do know that Polholes,
who was already thirty one when he entered that contract
with his best years behind him. I can't blame this
guy for taking two hundred forty million dollars from the
Angels who have been poorly navigated in the front office

(25:59):
for years. They're always making splashes that don't equate two wins.
From Poolhost to Trout, to the applimation Josh Hamilton, to
all this hoopla now about o'tany but where are the results?
You have to be lacking a bit of baseball knowledge
to think that a slug on the other side of
thirty would be raking in his mid thirties. Poollhost is

(26:22):
lucky to have a pulse at forty one. You know,
he was serving to vote for the Angels Martin for
a while, and he can still hit a blast. It's
boomer bust. But work contact, ever, depends on what the
heck you thought you were getting from him in the beginning.
I'm gonna say foul That is a foul ball. Rob

(26:44):
g already mentioned it. Come on now, Josh Hamilton was
a disaster. You know that five years, one hundred and
twenty five million. At least Poolhosts fulfilled his entire contract.
We get it, thirty one to forty one. He had
a lot of milestone while he was still there with
the Angels, and most of the losing had nothing to
do with him. Hello, have you heard of pitching? Go ahead,

(27:08):
while this is a bad contract, I'm fouling that as well.
That is a foul ball because you know what they
did get with Pools, strikeouts, hits, you know, he played
some defense. You know what they didn't get with Josh Hamilton.
They got a nice guy sitting on the couch, you
know what I'm saying, and hoping. You're hoping he's going
doing well with everything, but there's no way. I mean,
you paid the guy not to be there. That's that's

(27:29):
the worst contract that you could have signed, especially at
that amount. It's Josh Hamilton. You guys are all wrong.
But it's okay. We keep it moving now. Fouler Fair
the Acaba Fox Sports Radio j R. Gamble maam' b
bro with the fellas question number two. Mets ace Jacob
deGrom was scratched from his schedule to start on Tuesday
with what they call at the time right side tightness,

(27:50):
and they later found out it was an inflamed lat muscle.
Now he's still not one hundred percent, but the Mets
are considering putting him back on the mountain Sunday against
Arizona Jr. Fouler fair to say that the Mets are
rushing the grim back too soon. Typical Mets. Fair. The

(28:11):
Mets have two other dominant starters with eras below three.
Show me the other staff that can march a you know,
one to three out there equivalent to the gram Stroman
and Walker. Not many, However, the gram and is what
zero point five one ra is the last player the
Mexican afford to lose fellas for an extended period of

(28:34):
time and expect to make noise in the playoffs or
even make the playoffs. Rushing them back makes no sense.
Let these other guys hold down the fort for a minute.
They're pitching, great guys like Alonzo and Lindor and Dominic Smith.
After start hitting. Don't rush the ground back because these
guys are lacking on their pimpant. Treat him like a

(28:55):
cherished Jim and make sure he's one hundred percent or
you got nothing. I'm gonna say it's fair, right, it's
a fair ball. If he if he can go, get
him back out there. I mean the mets on actually
lighting things on fire. It's a very competitive nlast. You
don't want to give up a start from your ace

(29:17):
guy who gives you the best chance to win and miss.
My only thing, if he's not hurt and he can
gut it out and he's a gamer and he can
pitch without you know, you're thinking that you're gonna do
permanent damage to him, you know, put him out there.
If he feels uncomfortable, take him out. I'm okay with that. No,
all right, I'm foul. I'm with whatever the grim is playing.

(29:38):
That is a foul ball. Players want to play. And
if the grim can go and he said, he said,
it's in a spot, and if he creeped up towards
his armpit, then they'll get him right out of there.
But if it stays there and it's manageable, I think
he should be able to go, and he should go.
And not only that, you're talking about the best teams
to start hitting a little bit more. Maybe going out
there and seeing your seeing your ace pitcher go out

(29:58):
there under a little bit of circumstances might inspire some
of that bat You know, that's they're gonna need a
lot more inspiration than that. Let me say quickly, let's quickly.
We gotta quickly go through this one. Here we go
last one. Tony LaRussa had himself quite a blunder last week.
He admittedly put a picture on second base to start
the tenth nay of the game because he did not

(30:19):
know the new extra innings rules allowed clubs to put
the preceding batter on base instead. White socks still sixteen
to thirteen. Not like they've been terrible. But Jr. Is
it Fouler fair to say that Chicago should already be
regretting that decision to hire Tony LaRussa. That is a
foul ball. I don't like the problem. I don't like

(30:41):
the question, Rob. It's an unfair shot at the Hall
of Fame manager. The game of baseball hasn't changed, and
no one managing outside of Dusty Baker maybe knows the
game better than LaRussa, who has the hardware with two
different teams to prove it. It's a stupid rule to
begin with, that was Jeff instituted. And if anyone you
know would have a lack understanding, it's a guy that's

(31:01):
been managing for four decades. If if they didn't regret
him after the duy, there's definitely no chance they're going
to regret him because he forgot some stupid rule that
never should have been made in the first place. I
think it's fair. It's all in fact. You know, we
have sound of Tony laruss on opening day, uh, when

(31:25):
he stead stood at the top of the dugout when
all the players ran out onto the field. Your damn kids,
get off. My line was that was that before or
after Bourbon That I'm fair. I'm put it fair as well.
LaRussa should never he should have never got this job,
in my opinion, just honestly, after he bashed after he

(31:47):
bashed Fernando Tatis, he should have just kept his Hall
of Fame self sitting in the Hall of Fame and
not not just just leave it alone. The game has
passed you by, and that's fine, but I mean, come on,
you can't make that happy mistake. You can't put your picture.
I'm got to know what the rules. You sleep at
the wheel, so go home and go to sleep. I
wrote for the round for six months. It's his job

(32:07):
to know it. You're right, all right? Thanks j appreciate it. Well,
We'll see you on mlbbro dot com. Appreciate it all right.
It is the couple Fox Sports Radio and uh coming
up next shop Talk, So you want to stick and

(32:30):
stay for that. It is the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

a funky Flashback Friday, Rob Parker along with Martin Weiss

(32:52):
in for mister Chris Broussard. We're coming to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Time for shop Talk.
Ain't nobody Ain's never been a bomb shop you know that.
Ain't nobody. Isn't you talk about whoever it whatever, whatever
you want to in the bus. No, it's shop talk,
that's right. It is shop Talk the Akiba Fox Sports
Trader segment. We just said something that happened outside of

(33:13):
the world of sports normally gonna do. It's on a Friday,
but something happens so egregious. Oh, in the world that
we live in that we had to talk about g
This is not in the world that you and I
live in. This is in the world that Rob Parker
lives in, and only somebody happened that it just sent
shock ways do the world of social media. I'd rather
let me tell you what happened. Let me play some
audio that will describe exactly what took place. I'm Rob

(33:36):
Parker and here's my beat. Come to a restaurant. I
want some unsweeten nice tea with some sweetener in it.
I of course asked for splendor. They don't have splendor,
you know what. They have this pink garbage that nobody
uses anymore. So of course I go to my car
and I go and get my own splendor out of
my car. My question to you is should they reduce

(33:59):
to price some I drink because I had to bring
my own sweetener. I'm Rob Parker, It's Friday, and that's
my beef. What just imagine waking up on a Friday
and thinking that's gonna be the worst thing that happens
to you. Today where you're gonna record a video. Okay,
you're gonna record a video to your thousands, tens of
thousands of followers, and then and then not only that,

(34:20):
Rob Ge tell the story to millions of Americans listening
everywhere across the country. Let me just say this, on
what is it the seventh of May and the Year
of Our Lord two and twenty one, I have never
been more on Rob Parker's side in my life. What yes, man,
If you want something specific and in this case, splendor,

(34:42):
which is at the places you're gonna go to, thank
you and thank you to have it, I understand why
you would be episode. There is no reasonable level of
expectation that a restaurant is required to have the sweetener
that you like the best. No splenders everybody has, right,

(35:02):
that's who pink stuff, nobody. It's on every table in America,
somebody's using I mean, come on, first of all, they
were out of splendid deal with it. So I'm proud
of you, actually, Rob Parker, because you know yourself. You
know you have these weird idiosyncrasies and that's my only
that's the only thing. If you're a weird old like that,
just know yourself. You had the Splendid in the car.

(35:23):
You were ready just in case if the restaurant did
not have the splendid. I could appreciate that. I like that.
Good job. There Where you lose me is the idea
this restaurant somehow owes you something because they didn't have that.
They could have seen you wanted. They could have knocked
forty cents off my iced tea because I had to
use it my own sweeteners. No, it matter, in fact,

(35:45):
how about this? You want to use your own sweetener
all the time? Go forward? Because you know what, Rob Parker,
It's America is a free country, damn, and you could
do whatever you want. However you had you saw the video, Alex,
you got a problem with me wanting to discount on
my iced tea, Rob Parker. Let me just say this.
If somebody told me there was a guy on social
media who made a video complaining that there was no

(36:06):
splendor at a mom and pop shop, my first two
words would be Rob Parker. So I'll just say this.
Do I have an issue with it? Rob? No, you're
at a place of service. You expected something there wasn't available.
All I'm saying Martin has hold on Rob though knows
himself and has some available if he needs it, so
that's cool. Do I think they should lower the price
for him? No, because I mean they only have what

(36:28):
they can offer. I can't go to in and Out
and ask for tacos. I'm not you know. I can't
say I want half off because I ain't got no tacos.
All I'm saying is that I get Rob Parker. I
don't expect anything else from Mob Parker. Because I know
my man loves his stuff. I can't hate on him. Man,
I thought it was funny and Martin, you think I'm
weird because I carry my own tea bags. Why would
I pay four dollars at the airport for a couple

(36:50):
of hot water the tea bag that costs four sets?
Look facts, If you want to hold right here, four
dos that bad? Rob Parker? I understand and I respect it.
What you can't do is go to the tea place
if a cup of hot water cought ten cents and
say I only wanted for eight cents because I don't
have my own tea bag. That's not how this works,
this saving money? Doesn't it make sense? What I do

(37:15):
is I asked him for a cup of hot water.
Most of the child they charge you fifty cents. I'm
with you. Rob Martin sounds like a Republican right now.
Money falling out of his pockets, and he's willing to
drop four dollars podcastings over here, making the wife advice,
making money off everybody else's back with his gambling picks.

(37:35):
He's like, look, man, I'll let you pay four dollars
for this iced tea or this a couple of water.
You know what? You know what? Rob? Is another another
reference that Rob won't get, but every single person listening
under thirty five will Rob is that guy who's going around.
He's like, this is an Ikea. Do you think I
care about this? Do you think I care? You've seen
that video? This is an Ikea? Do you think I
care about this line? Do you think I care about this? Cost?

(37:56):
Go somewhere else if you want to go shop somewhere else.
That's what that person and whoever whatever, a little mom
and pop shot who's making twelve dollars an hour in
the middle of a pandemic. He walked up to and said, Hey,
can I get some money off of my splendid drink?
Somebody just texts me Rob Parker should be arrested, and
I'll be honest, I don't hate to take alright whatever,
all right, our number three is coming up and we're

(38:19):
talking about the Olympics. I'm boycotting it. I'm not watching
one single minute while the twenty twenty one boycotts in
Tokyo Olympics in Tokyo, stick and stay and see I come.
