Speaker 1 (01:33):
What's up man, what's happened to mister Christmas Salt on
his TV theme song Thursday.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
How are you.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
I'm doing tremendously. I'm doing great. How about you?
Speaker 5 (01:42):
All good?
Speaker 6 (01:44):
All good?
Speaker 5 (01:45):
Yeah, all good?
Speaker 6 (01:46):
No complaints? All right?
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Well, my green lantern outfit today, the green hornet, I
guess maybe green here?
Speaker 6 (01:53):
What is that?
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Just a pull over? A polo polo, Yeah, polo pullover.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
It's usually hold in the studio, Chris, you wouldn't know
because you haven't been here in four years.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
But it's usually cold.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
No, because you wouldn't know anything about cold out there
in Las.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
Rob g Is it not cold in the studio?
Speaker 6 (02:11):
It is, Chris, the fall out there in La it's fall.
In New York is it fall? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
The the change in weather has been jarring. It's fifty sixty.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Yeah, that's that's chili and uh yeah, it's.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
You know, but hey, the seasons. I'm cool with it.
So here we go.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
All right, Let's introduce the odd couple crew in for
DJ Alex Tight Shirt, who unusually off on a Thursday.
As surprised because it's usually Tyson's Tower of Trivia in
the third hour. None of that tonight, because Mighty Mark
Ramsey is on the boards, Rob.
Speaker 6 (02:49):
His nickname is Mighty Mark.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Mighty Mark is what you got.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
And of course you know, I hadn't seen him in
a while, and of course I called him Mike instead
of Mark, and he corrected me. I was glad that
he corrected me, because you should always don't let it go. Yeah,
like you should let people know so I don't get
caught up and thinking I just made a mistake.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
But I have no issue with that, Mark. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Also, super producer Rob g is in the house on
the updates. You just heard the man Steve de Seger
and on social media Elijah Sabunja.
Speaker 7 (03:21):
Rob.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
There was a big blockbuster trade yesterday in the NBA.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
By now everybody knows about.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
It, Damian Lillard, Dame Dolla as they call him, going.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
To the Milwaukee Bucks. A lot of people thought he
wanted to be traded to Miami.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Instead he winds up in Milwaukee with giannis Ante Decompo.
And what I want to throw out to you, Rock
is we talked about it yesterday from a lot of
different angles.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
But what I want to ask.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
You today, because it's still the hot story, is who
do you think the most pressure is on to win?
Because they are already in Vegas the favorites, and I think.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
They should be.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Yeah, but you gotta remember, Chris, be careful with Vegas.
Vegas is it's not about they're trying to get people
to put money down, you know that.
Speaker 6 (04:09):
I mean, that's fine. I'm just saying they got them
as the favorite.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
No, I know, but I'm just but I'm just trying
to say that. But that doesn't mean that Vegas knows anything.
Oh yeah, they gonna Vegas. Vegas is trying to get people.
They got you know what, they get a big trade.
They want people to put money down. Oh, Milwaukee's a favorite.
Let me get my money down. I mean that's part
of what they do, which is fine. I'm just saying, right,
it doesn't there's no official Oh my god, their favorites
(04:34):
in Vegas.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
You know what I mean? Like people, Well, there actually is.
Speaker 6 (04:37):
They are officially favorites, right.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
But I'm just saying, but it doesn't mean it.
Speaker 6 (04:40):
It doesn't mean that, right, I mean, you know, it
is what it is. They're the favorites in Vegas. So
who do you.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Think the most pressure is going though to win the championship,
because that's what a lot of people are thinking that's
what a lot of people are expecting.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
I think they.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Should be the favorites to win it all. So Yannis
or Dame, who do you think it's facing the most pressure?
Speaker 1 (05:03):
No, h If I had to take a look at this,
it's all about Giannie. There's no pressure with Damian Lillard.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
I do not believe that people would be like, oh
my god, Dame didn't win. What it'll be Yannis God,
Dame Lillard and he didn't win that that's where it'll
all fall on him, because I don't think people expected
Dame to win anything or win a championship in his career,
(05:33):
and it wouldn't have colored in any way or made
people feel like, you know, look look at him a
different way or sideways, you know what I mean? Because
most of the time, as you point out, all the time,
it's never guard to a leading a way or so
all God too right.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
So so so it's not Damian Lillard.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Uh and Isaiah Thoms, Yeah, Chris, so it's it's it's
about Yannis. Jiannis was the one belly achin he doesn't have.
He's thinking about moving on. If they don't try to
win or whatever, they go out and make a big deal,
and if they don't win, people will look at Giannis
and say, what didn't you do?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Well?
Speaker 6 (06:12):
Look, Yannis is the better player.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah, and with that Rob comes more expectations, Right, Yannis
is in that.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
Atmosphere. He's on that level where if he never were
to win a.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Championship, even though he's won one now, if he weren't
to win another one, people would view it as a disappointment.
People are looking at him. Could he one day be
a top ten player of all time? Or you know,
even if you don't put him that high, he's on
that level the Kevin Durants and you know, the Doctor
(06:55):
Jays and the Moses Malones, a Keeam, Elijah pas Ewing,
Rob everybody always said, never won a championship. You know
you're they're that level of player, And so in that regard,
I agree with you. Damian Lillard, great player all time,
top seventy five officially will easily be a first Valot
(07:17):
Hall of Famer, but not quite at the level.
Speaker 6 (07:22):
And a lot of it's just the size.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
No one, very few small players ever reached that point.
Rob Allen Iverson never won a championship. Does it really
hurt his legacy, I mean enhanced when they when they win,
he got cred that they won.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
It was him.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
It was him who was a was it ambo?
Speaker 5 (07:47):
And but that was it.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
And a bunch of role players and a great coach
and Larry Brown and everybody were like, they won game
won against Kobe the Lakers, and that was it. And
you know what, nobody was like, oh my god, he
didn't win. His career was valid.
Speaker 6 (08:02):
Is he gonna get that one?
Speaker 4 (08:03):
But it helps you, but it's not like people really
hold it against you. As I said earlier, Rob Isaiah
Thomas of the Detroit Pistons and Steph Curry of the
Golden State war too small, normal sized point guards to
lead teams to multiple championships. You know, remember in seventy
(08:25):
nine the Seattle SuperSonics won it. Rob their leading scorer
was Gus Williams, the Wizard. You can argue it's arguable
who was the best player at Dennis Johnson had Jack sickma.
You know, it was a team we mentioned it of
good players, but no real superstars. And Dennis Johnson is
the Hall of Famer there, so I wouldn't count even
(08:50):
though he was their leading score.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
I wouldn't say Gus Williams kind of led him. He
was one of the leaders. He was a great player
that year, but it was really a team effort with
that career.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
But go ahead, just just to Giannis, you know, like
when we've seen them Chris last year in the deciding
Game five at home, he shot ten for twenty three
from the free throw line, you remember, I mean he
killed them. I mean, that's why they blew that game.
At the end, he couldn't make a free throw to
save his life. And then the flip side Chris, when
they won in Game six in the finals, it was
(09:22):
about Gianni's his bugger bull was the free throws Chris.
He made seventeen out of nineteen. Right, That's what I'm
looking at. I mean, if they're going to win or
lose the championship, and that doesn't mean that Dame doesn't matter.
But if Jannis doesn't play well, Chris, Dame won't matter.
If Jannis doesn't play well well, Giannis has to play well.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Obviously he's the best player. You're not winning it without
him playing well. But you're probably not winning it out
Dame playing well either. And here's where I would give
you the pushback Rod, I would say to Dame, this
is what you wanted. This is why you requested the trade,
so you could go.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
Somewhere and win a championship.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
Now he wanted to go to Miami, obviously, but you didn't.
You still went to a team that is right there.
You wanted the big stage. You were tired of playing,
you know, second fidd All steps getting the rings and
you know, I don't have enough and you didn't have enough.
(10:29):
So nobody's held it against you. But with that being
on a team that never had championship expectations, that no
one thought could win a title, or even win the
West for that matter.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
There's a little comfort in that. There's a little You
have a.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Bad Western Conference finals, you get swept.
Speaker 6 (10:56):
He's been swept a few times, expect too.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Much from them, So when you don't have expectations, the
pressure is lessened.
Speaker 6 (11:08):
Now there's expectations.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
And so I would say, this is what Dame wanted,
an opportunity to win a championship. And not only did
you get traded, you got traded to the team that
had the best record in the East last year. You
got traded to a guy who arguably, I would say,
yo Kicch but arguably is the best player in the world,
(11:33):
a guy who fits you and your game perfectly, the
guy that you said of everybody in the league you
would love to play with. You gotta get it done.
I do think there'll be a little uh. Dame didn't
(11:53):
get it done with Giannis. Nobody's gonna crush him. But
I think now he's under more.
Speaker 6 (12:00):
Of a spotlight.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
And it's like anytime you force the trade, Rob, because
the team you were on wasn't good enough and you
want to go some you're a championship level player, you
want to go somewhere win the championship.
Speaker 6 (12:16):
Now there's pressure to win that championship.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
And Rob Dame clearly did not want to go to
a quote unquote ready made situation. Right he said, I
would never have done what Kevin Durant did and gone
to Golden Stated.
Speaker 6 (12:35):
You know he said, before, oh what Lebron did?
Speaker 4 (12:37):
I mean he's kind of retracted it, but you know,
Lebron going to Miami, you want to compete and all that. Like,
he didn't want to go somewhere where it was a
quote unquote easy ring. And this is perfect for him then,
because this team got bounced in the first round. This
(12:58):
team got bounced in the second round the year before. Nobody.
This ain't gonna be an easy ring. If you get it,
even if you're the favorites, Boston is legit. You still
got Miami in Philadelphia and then in the West, Denver
obviously legit, the defending champs, Phoenix legit, the Lakers, the War.
Speaker 6 (13:20):
I mean, the.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
League is stacked a lot of teams out there that
could beat you. So if you yet, even though it's
not gonna be a quote unquote easy ring, you do
have enough.
Speaker 6 (13:34):
You do have enough. You got the maybe the best
player in the world.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
You got Size Galore, You've got Jake Crowder, who I
think will play a bigger role this year now that
Budenozer is gone.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
Like, you got enough, and so if you want to
be go up a notch.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
It hands your legacy, be remembered as a champion, because
that's why you wanted to trade. Then go get it done,
all right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine.
Speaker 6 (14:12):

Speaker 6 (15:49):
Your thoughts?
Speaker 5 (15:50):
Dre in Michigan, You're on they couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Drake?
Speaker 9 (15:56):
What'ellas are you?
Speaker 6 (15:57):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (15:58):
Man o good Man? I need to let that That's
one of the best thing songs ever, hoping his stones ever? Man?
Speaker 5 (16:03):
I love Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Quincy Jones did a lot of did a lot of
TV themes, Chris, Did you know that, Dre?
Speaker 5 (16:09):
Did you know that? Yes?
Speaker 9 (16:10):
Yeah, yeah, I know that.
Speaker 6 (16:11):
I don't know what are some of the other ones
he did.
Speaker 5 (16:14):
He did a number of them. He might have done,
I want to say.
Speaker 9 (16:19):
The top of my head.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
Yeah, yeah. I look at the list, Chris, I look
at the list, but it's a number of them.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
Go ahead, Dre, what you got?
Speaker 9 (16:25):
Yeah, man, I think the most pressure is on Dame.
Uh Giannis already got a ring. He showed he can
do it with with not a stacked team or a
superstar study team. But he did it just him being
the leading man. And I think with Dane, with all
that boohooing about getting out of Portland so he can
have more talent, you got a good team. It's not
a stacked team, but you got a good team.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
But but Dray, if Joannis doesn't play well, it doesn't
make free throws, you're gonna blame it on Damian Lillard.
Speaker 9 (16:50):
No, not at all. But what I'm okay if you
if you flip that, if Jannis plays with same Dame hurt,
you gonna blame it on your.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Well, right, But I'm what I'm talking about that Joanna
is the best player, but Dave's got to play well
for them to win. To Rob is not gonna do
it by himself.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Yeah, I'm not saying that, but I'm just saying that
if it's about Janni's on that team, that's all.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
He is the best player, no doubt, That's.
Speaker 5 (17:16):
All I'm saying.
Speaker 9 (17:18):
I mean, they left, it seems to be heightened, but
I think it's a dang all right.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Thanks dre appreciated, Robert and Georgia. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (17:26):
What's going on?
Speaker 7 (17:27):
Fella, y'all?
Speaker 10 (17:27):
How I'm great?
Speaker 7 (17:30):
Man.
Speaker 10 (17:30):
I want to say first, I disagree with y'all as
far as the game leaving Portland take. That's just another
conversation in a day.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
What do you disagree with? I'm just curious, what do
you disagree with? Curious with your chest?
Speaker 10 (17:44):
You know, I'm gonna say that, Chris, I don't think
when y'all saying that he forced himself out of Portland
that they don't owe him anything. I just don't think
that's true, just because on a simi effects, it's not
all about money. They start this about not taking that
draft pick and get him some better help to win
a championship. They did that, and he got some better
help you to stay, but they wasn't committed to making
the team better. So well the choice did.
Speaker 9 (18:05):
You leave them to do?
Speaker 7 (18:05):
So?
Speaker 10 (18:06):
Well?
Speaker 6 (18:06):
Hold on, hold on, hold on?
Speaker 4 (18:07):
Okay, So what were they supposed you saying this draft?
They by drafting school Anderson, they didn't give him enough
to win a championship?
Speaker 6 (18:15):
Is that what you're saying?
Speaker 10 (18:16):
Yeah, they made they didn't trade that pick to get
up player.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Hell Okay, So Who were they supposed to get with
that pick that was gonna make them put them to
win the championship?
Speaker 10 (18:25):
I mean, I don't I don't know who was on
the trading back who they can go get, But it's
a lot of players that, I'll.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
Give you a hit, nobody that was gonna put them
in championship.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Right, there was nobody available. They weren't getting Anthony Davis
or like a player of that ill. Who are they
gonna get that was really going to elevate them to
that that kind of level.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Robert, that's the problem.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
But go ahead, Uh they did, and they paid him
a ton of money and he didn't have to sign
anything extension he signed.
Speaker 6 (18:53):
Right, they both held up there into the.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Bar yep, and that's it. Go ahead, But well, who's
got the most prosu.
Speaker 10 (19:00):
But I think I thought agree with Chris. I think
it's stuff. I mean, dame just because like Chris said, stuff,
he's been comparing himself to saying, like, if you had
that help with stuff O Kyrie Russell Westbrook, he will
be on that level of stardom. I think this is
a chance. I think historically he may not be like
you know, he's gonna be the top one of the players,
but just conversation WI. Either wise, if they fail, they
(19:22):
people gonna blame him because Gihn's always going to win.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Want to ring, Yeah, it's gonna be a little egg
on his face. It's like what you had Giannis couldn't deliver.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
So I'm with you on that, no doubt. All right,
it is the odd couple, Chris and Rob.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
We got a big game about to start NFC North

Speaker 5 (20:52):
How y'all doing doing good?
Speaker 6 (20:54):
Great man? Great to have you.
Speaker 5 (20:55):
You always sound the same, man, How do you do it?
Speaker 1 (20:58):
You just have the same I never hear you any
different like all these years, just the same tone.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
You know what I mean. You're never too hype, You're
never too low. Your stress level. We've been to the
doctor for your physical your stress level has to be low.
Speaker 7 (21:13):
On stress level, I don't at least I don't believe.
I don't really let things bother me. It kind of
is what it is. I'm not letting it bother me.
Speaker 6 (21:21):
There you go, control what you can control. That's how
you do it. All right, Who's let's go to the Jets.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
Let's start there with Zach Wilson obviously having some issues.
I've been saying I think that they're doing a disservice
to their locker room the players in that locker room
if they don't go out and get like a more
capable quarterback. I think like a Carson Wentz. Not saying
he's great, but he's certainly better than Zach Wilson if
(21:51):
you were a receiver on the team. I've mentioned Garrett
Wilson and how frustrating it must be for him. If
you were a receiver on that team, wouldn't you be
frustrated or would you just be like, Hey, I'm supporting Zach.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
We can get it done with him.
Speaker 7 (22:06):
Oh, of course you're gonna be frustrated. If I'm Zack Wilson.
You know what I'm doing. Garrett Wilson is getting fifteen
to twenty targets a game. If I'm gonna go out,
I'm gonna go out throwing the ball to my best guy,
like he needs your best player at the ball. That's
number one number. I don't know if Carson Wentz coming
in can do better than what people think when you
(22:29):
come in and they all, you got to learn this offense,
and that's not an easy task, and so you would
want somebody that has an understanding of the system. Yeah,
Carson Wentz will pick it up. But the little nuances
and the checks and certain looks. That's not easy. That's
going to take time. And so they're looking at it
(22:50):
from the perspective of let's hope that Dak Wilson can
be best.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Aj stop stop no, I hear what you're saying, but
you you've the I tap. This is not that that
happened just this year they played. They played four quarterbacks
last year. Anybody who could throw the ball they would
rather put in last year.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
They knew, they knew this.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
They already the better.
Speaker 7 (23:14):
He's a better player this year than he was last year.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
He's still bad.
Speaker 7 (23:19):
He is he is, no people, this is the thing.
Let's go back to the New England game. Let's go
back to the New England game. No no, no, no,
not the New England game. Who they played.
Speaker 5 (23:28):
From Cowboys, the cow Cowboys Patriots.
Speaker 7 (23:33):
You go back to that game and watch that game.
He didn't really unravel until the game was basically out
of reach and he started to force the ball. He
had played solid football up until the point where the
game had gotten out of control. He was solid, and
then he tried to force the ball and he started
(23:54):
throwing interceptions. New England they have almost everybody's number. I'm
not saying that that Wilson is the answer. What I'm
saying is, if you bring in Carson Wentz, you're not
so certain that he's going to play better than Zach Willbon.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
I disagree. I can't.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Joe Namas just said, enough Joe, he's eighty years old.
But but but everybody has seen this kid. I hear
what you're saying about taking time. At least Carson Wentz
has had some success in the NFL. This kid, this
kid hasn't had any success. My god, I just what
(24:33):
what are you? What are we waiting for the season?
The season is melting away.
Speaker 7 (24:38):
Really, I agree with you if you don't sign Carson
went immediately after week one. When Aaron Rodgers goes down,
the longer you wait, the longer he's going to have
to understand and learn that system. And you're speaking, Joe, Joe.
Everybody knows Zach Wilson is playing bad. Like for you
(24:58):
to be one of the greatest players and Jet's history
and to just beating down like that, like, come on, bro,
you don't have to do that type of stuff. Like,
to me, that is so uncalled for to beat him
down like that, he wants to play better, he isn't.
But to hear one of the greatest players said when
everybody can see, like, to me, it's a call for.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
TJ.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
I would just feel like the players are so frustrated.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
You're gonna lose a loss room if your solid games left.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
It's not like you got seven games left and you
are out of it all right, I mean fourteen games
left and you got to deal with a dude who
can't throw for more than one hundred and fifty yards
a game.
Speaker 6 (25:38):
That's tough.
Speaker 7 (25:40):
I'm not saying I don't agree with you guys, but
if you don't go get somebody early on said, say
you signed Carson Wentz Monday.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
No, I got it, say you.
Speaker 7 (25:52):
It's gonna take him just to be comfortable three weeks.
You'll prop they'll have a small playbook. It's gonna be
the same. Let's run the ball, it's play great defense,
and let's hope Carson Wentz doesn't make a mistake type
of thing. And so they're looking at him. Yeah, can
you lose the locker room yet? But I'm just telling you,
if I'm Zack Wilson, I'm going to Garrett Wilson and
(26:13):
I'm saying, listen, be ready, I'm throwing him. Anytime it's
single high defense, I'm throwing the ball to Garrett.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
All right, let me ask you about Sean Payton Denver
and what they look The team looked like they quit.
Speaker 5 (26:26):
To me, where are they?
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Sean Payton came in high for loot and pay me
twenty five million.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Hackett was awful.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
I'm gonna tell Russ stop kissing babies and shaking hands
and you know, and he did all that kind of stuff.
And now he's going three and had the beat down
put down on him?
Speaker 5 (26:45):
Where are you on?
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Did Sean Payton have to step up?
Speaker 6 (26:49):
Listen?
Speaker 7 (26:50):
When you give up seventy points, that ain't just on
the players. You are getting out schemed and out coach
all the way around. Like, that's just not on the players.
Seventy points in the National Football League, Like are you
kidding me? Run for three? Fifteen, pass for three? Are
you kating me? Like you can't come out and say
(27:12):
what you said about Hackett and then your team performs
like this. If I am I wrong, but I believe
Denver was towing one after three games. Yes, so you
cannot do that now. Defensively, They were much better last
year than they are this year. They are getting out coached, outschemed,
(27:36):
whatever you want to call it. Now. I'm not gonna
question Sean Payton because he's had so much success. When
Drew Brees got hurt, he still got it done with
Taysom Hill, Jamis Swinton and those guys. But seventy points
in the NFL, man, Like, you really got to get
to work and you really got to hone in on
what's wrong because you don't give up seventy points in
(27:57):
the NFL. You are getting out schemed, out coached.
Speaker 6 (28:01):
Yeah, that that's ridiculous. What do you think about Joe
Burrow your your former team in Cincinnati Bengals him playing
Is this the right move or the wrong one?
Speaker 7 (28:11):
Oh? Absolutely, it's the right move. Man. I was in
Sistatian just you know, they needed that. They needed that
win in it to keep You don't have a setback.
He's good going. They can make it to the bye
week two and four, three and three, they got a
chance to kind of keep this season on the tracks.
(28:32):
That he's doing all that he can. And you watch
that game. He was he was compromised, but he did
that defense kept him in the game and then the
offense made enough play. But Joe going through what he's
going through, you can completely tell he's not himself.
Speaker 5 (28:48):
Oh yeah, no, he couldn't even get what he got
in the red zone one time. It was not not
a pretty picture.
Speaker 7 (28:53):
Dude, to show the selflessness and that competitive greatness to
play in that game knowing that he was limited. That's
what you won't out of your players, especially your best player.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
All right, Cowboys, Well, you know people were ready to
crown them after they beat the Giants and the Jets,
and then they have the stinker in Arizona? Is that
the Cowboys that we know that whenever people are ready
to say.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
Oh yeah, they've arrived, they usually.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
Delivered a stinker and have people change their minds about them.
Speaker 7 (29:24):
I'll give them a mulligan for two reasons. You lose
dig and you want to see how just see how
we can call a game without them. If you're Dan Quinn,
you want to see that. But the second thing is
we got to understand now. Jonathan Gannon, who is now
the Arizona head coach, was a defensive coordinator. He understands
the Cowboys. He played them twice last year. He has
(29:45):
any good ideas of how to slow them down and
how to attack them. And if you kind of watch
what they did on offense, a lot of myths. Well,
you play against a fast defense, you want to slow
them down with misdirection and make sure they're using your
eye in their eyes on the correct spot. And so
they just did a really good job. I want to
see how the Cowboys perform and gets a good team
(30:07):
because what you said, they played the giants in the
jet right, Oh, they smoke both of them. So we like,
oh my goodness, this defense and this team is unbelievable. Right,
can you do the same thing to a good team
that remains to be seen?
Speaker 3 (30:21):
All right?
Speaker 4 (30:22):
That is our man, CJ. Houschmann zolid great stuff. As always, brother,
we repredate.
Speaker 7 (30:27):
You, all right, fellas man, y'all keep up the great
work as always.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Thank you, buddy, brother Peace Lions packers up next, we'll
preview keep it locked a couple.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Slash a couple this time for Shekel City.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
I'm still feeding the people in America who follow Shekel
City two and one last night and had a couple
of winners in there. Didn't get the hat trick, but
I'll take it. Here we go tonight. We'll start with
a couple of baseball games. I got the Phillies minus
one and a half runs they host the Pirates, and
I got the Orioles minus one and a half against
(31:42):
the Red Sox. The Orioles Chris could clinch the al
least tonight with a victory.
Speaker 6 (31:48):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
And then we got for my best bet, we're gonna
do the Lions packers. Chris can't say I'm Allions hater.
I am picking the Lions minus one and a half
in this game. I am, but on the best bet.
I'm picking Lions and Packers. I'm taking the over forty
six points, so I'm taking the over.
Speaker 5 (32:10):
I think it'll be more than that firepower.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
I don't think the Packers defense is that great team
with the Lions, I think some points will be scored
tonight up in Green Bay. No weather to be worried about.
There we go, so Oriols minus one and a half runs,
Phillies minus one and a half runs and take the
over Lions at Packers Thursday night football. Most people can't
see because of where it's broadcast. But that's another story.
(32:34):
And I was two and one last night. Remember, I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on.
Speaker 6 (32:41):
So you are.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
Taking the Lions. That is big news because you you
generally don't do that.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
So why I don't know if they've had their number
the last few games. Packers haven't done well on primetime
games lately. They got a couple of Venger Baktiari Chris
Alexander for Green Bays. Yeah, I mean, so there's a
couple of people that are missing. So that's that's the reason. Uh,
(33:12):
And they didn't look good the last game they won
against the Saints. They were down seventeen to nothing at
home and they were able to win.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
Look, I think they only won because Derek Carr got hurt, right,
and Derek Carr hadn't been playing tremendously, but he was still,
you know, a good quarterback and.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
He's no doubt, Chris. That should have been a win
for the SATs.
Speaker 6 (33:33):
They rupped seventeen old rob early in the third quarter
when he went down.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
And that was it and the game changed from there.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
Now, give the Packers credit.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
They rallied won eighteen to seventeen, and Jordan Loved.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
Wasn't there a miskick to in that game? Yes?
Speaker 4 (33:48):
I believe so that the Saints missed one, the Saints
could have won it.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
Yep. Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
Jordan Love is actually playing pretty well. It's because his numbers,
in some ways are low. He's only completing rob fifty
three percent of his passes, which obviously is low by
today's standards. Only throwing for two hundred and eighteen yards
a game, again low by today's You.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
Think they have them on a leash a little bit.
Speaker 6 (34:19):
I wouldn't say. I mean he's throwing it a decent amount.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
He's throwing it over thirty times a game, thirty two
to be exact, so you know, he just but when
you're only completing half your passes, that I think is
part of the issue. That said, though, Rob, He's got
seven touchdowns passing and only one interception. So that's why
I said, it's strange that, you know, his numbers are
(34:46):
kind of odd. The touchdowns, I mean, and the interceptions
both great. They're only two quarterbacks, Rob kirk Cousins and
two a tongue of Vola, who have more touchdown passes
than Jordan Love. But he's you know, he's just not
throwing for the yardage that most quarterbacks are thrown for
(35:06):
in this day and age.
Speaker 6 (35:07):
But you know, I think it's a good start for
him so far.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
There two and one obviously, but I like I like
Detroit tonight, as do you. The Lions, I think are
the best team in that division, NFC North.
Speaker 6 (35:21):
They were my pick to win it.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
They beat the Falcons last week twenty to six. They've
beaten Kansas City, obviously, those are two pretty good wins.
They lost the Seattle which was very disappointing for their fans.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Yeah, it was a home it was home coming off
the Kansas City game, Chris, they were jacked. They wore
the ski mask into the blue ski mask, you know
what I mean, it was supposed to.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
You would know, Rob, this was that was probably the
most anticipated home opener in a while, long time.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
Since before you left.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
I would think, right probably since they built the building,
the new Ford Field, you know what I mean, from
when they moved from the Pontiac Silver Dume.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
Yep, yep so.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
But Jared Goff's having a nice season and I think
they can. They should pull this off tonight. If they don't,
I know, it's not much of a spread, but if
they lose this game, I think that's a huge disappointment
number one and set back number two, because they got
a chance to really put a little distance between themselves
(36:24):
and some of the other teams in that division. Rop
they got Green Bay to night, then they got Carolina
that should be a W. Tampa Bay another one that
should be a W. So they could you know, they
could string together four victories in a row. Next thing,
you know, they're five and one, and they got a
little bit of cushion for later in the season.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Yeah, it would be a letdown because if they lose
that one Division rival Chris. Yep, the Packers would go
to three and one. The lines would be two and two,
and then people would be like, wait a minute, Brett
Fahv beat their heads in, Aaron Rodgers beat their heads in,
and now is Jordan Love gonna beat their heads in too?
Speaker 5 (37:06):
You know?
Speaker 7 (37:06):
Right?
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Like like really, you can't get away from Green Bay.
So this will be one of those one of those
measuring stick games. It really is like for them to
go on the road, they're the favorites, Chris. To be
on the road and be a favorite in Green Bay,
that doesn't happen very often.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
Yeah, and that's you and I have talked about that.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
Like Detroit obviously is used to being the hunter, and
they haven't been very much of a hunter, right. They're
a woeful franchise to say the least, and trying to
say a mob moreburn won't be gone all that hapless.
But they were the hunter against Kansas City rob they
(37:49):
look good. They win, they're the hunted in the home
opener against Seattle and they lay an egg and then
you know, expectations decrease a little bit. Then they beat Atlanta.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
They they've we talked about it last year. They lost
the Carolina game.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
They could have got them into the playoffs or at
least close, and they dropped it.
Speaker 6 (38:08):
So uh, that's something to watch with the lions keeper
locked
