Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario a little bit. It's up your all,
Maria Lopez. Join me now on Zoom my buddy, actress
and singer Ali Brooke. Welcome back, Ali. How are you hi?
I'm doing awesome. Thank you Mario. How are you doing?
I'm doing well. I'm doing well. Digging the highlights. How
are you feeling with being a little blondie? Right there?
I just went blonde and it is awesome. There you go.
(00:24):
Good for you. Well, congrats on the big news. You've
launched a new podcast, The Ali Brook Show. Uh. What
inspired you to want to start a pod? Yes? Well,
it's funny because I actually tried to start a podcast
three years ago and it just didn't work out. I
wasn't ready. UM, so it was always there, but for me,
it was all about the timing. And now the timing
(00:46):
couldn't be more perfect. This is, you know, while I'm
recording in the studio, um, having my own podcast to
share with my fans and to bringing a new audience.
It's going to be a really great platform to be
vulnerable for the first time. I'm owning my own voice,
and also to have fun and hopefully be a positive
(01:06):
voice for other Latinas and other you know people out there.
So it's going to be a mixture of so much
you're not gonna want to miss it. Good for you.
So you're gonna be covering a lot of different stuff.
What kind of things are you talking about? Are you
gonna have guests? Yes, so I'm it's gonna interchange. So
it's gonna be me starting off the first episode solo,
and then I'm going to interchange every other week with
(01:29):
different guests. There's gonna be everybody from of course artists,
two comedians to some of my favorite chefs. Um it
would be Yeah, it's gonna be a blast, and I
would love to have you Mario. Okay, thank you, appreciate,
appreciate the invite. Right there, You're on record right there. Nice, Well,
good for you. Congrats on that. And I know Ali,
you're also staring in this new movie with Kelsey Grammar.
(01:51):
High expectations. What's this all about? Yes, so it is
a film based on soccer. It it's funny because it
has so many different elements and it's a story about
redemption and hope and I can't give too much away,
but it really is a beautiful story. It talks a
lot about mental health and kind of finding inspiration within
(02:15):
your life and yourself and finding hope. UM. I filmed
that in the fall and it was amazing. It was
one of the most wonderful experiences because of people and
the cast and of course being my first film. UM,
it was really special. So I can't wait for that
to come out. We're looking at maybe gosh, hopefully winter
(02:36):
of this year, but we'll see how the world is, um,
you know by then nice, all right, we'll look forward
to checking it out. Uh. And let's talk some music.
What's going on with your Worship Sunday's band, So Worship Sundays.
I'm super excited about it. You know, my faith is
very important to me. And by the way, thank you
Mario for supporting my book and posting about it. Um,
(02:57):
that was awesome, you know how important that is to me.
And Worship Sundays is something that I'm launching. It'll be
um available in a few weeks on YouTube, and it's
basically another side project that's all about just coming and
worshiping as you are. I have a band behind me,
a possible choir. It is amazing and super special. So
(03:22):
I already posted one video from that UM with a
song called film Me Up, and then we'll release it
in a few weeks, the whole series, and that we
plan to do like once a month, depending on you know,
my schedule. Good for you, Good for you in any
plans as far as a solo album, you still having
time to work on that or yes. So I am
(03:42):
working on my very first solo album, which is it's
pretty unbelievable to me. It's super special. And I've been
working in Miami. I was just there and Puerto Rico. Um. Yeah,
I've kind of been keeping that a secret, but I
have to tell you. Borrow you you got it out
of me. Okay, good, I'm glad you know you trust me.
(04:03):
I'm not gonna say anything. Yeah, it's either be amazing.
I'm working with everybody from Demono, Flow UM and so
many different producers and artists and uh, it's definitely gonna
be a huge piece of my heart. And I know
the fans are just gonna explode. Um, it's been an
(04:26):
unbelievable journey for me. Good for you out It's a
dream for sure, bucket list. Well, congrats on that. And
I remember the last time you were here you had
written a book. Are you were you happy with the
way it came out? You're gonna be able to do
a book tour? Or is that difficult right now because
the circumstances, Mario, I was hoping that I could have
done one, you know, last fall, but of course the pandemic,
(04:48):
you know, you couldn't. We couldn't do that. Um, But
I'm hoping that we can kind of make up time
maybe this summer or this fall, maybe do like a
one year released NG and to do a book a
book tour. That would be amazing because I love being
in person with people. I thrive off of, you know,
hugging people and getting to know them face to face,
(05:11):
their stories and us kind of exchanging our story and
connecting in person. There's nothing like it. So I'm hoping
we can do that. But yes, I was super happy
with with my book. Very special, you know something that
not only me but my family is very proud of
sharing my faith, sharing my story, sharing all the ups
and downs, and and hoping to inspire people out there
(05:33):
who have a dream or who I think that you know,
they're in a place where they're they're feeling hopeless. There
is hope and miracles happen, and um, your dreams can
come true. You've just got to have faith and keep persevering. Man,
that is what I've learned. Well, congratulations on everything, Ali,
happy for you. Are you in Texas right now? Are
(05:54):
you back here in l A? I'm in l A. Okay,
so you're in l A. So it's all him now. Yes, yeah,
I've been in l A for quite some time. Texas
will always be home though, but yeah, I mean I
do love l A. Okay, good to hear it, good
to hear. We'll listen to the Ali Brooks Show on
I Heart Radio or wherever you get your podcast. Alie.
Always nice catching up, sweetie you two. Thank you so much, Marian. Yes,
(06:18):

other podcasts can be heard. I can't wait. You're the best. Thanks, honey.
