Speaker 1 (00:00):
Real fun with Mario a little bit more Littlepez joining
now on Zoom from the upcoming film Mean Girls, the
musical actress Busy Philips welcome to show up, Busy. How
where are you? I'm good, Maria. How you doing? I'm
doing well? So this is cool. Put a smile on
my face as I was saying it has filming started
on Mean Girls? Yet? What can you tell us? Filming

(00:22):
has started? And would you believe it? Well, you know
how those business is. I'm already finished with my part.
That's awesome, but they're still going and like these kids
are so incredibly talented. Renee rap is, you know, playing
Regina Regina George and I am missus George her mom.

(00:44):
So yeah, and Renee was in the show on Broadway,
so it's really awesome that like she's able to do
this in the film version because you know, so frequently
the actors who do the show on Broadway don't get
the movie version of the thing. So um, it was
just like a real delight to be a part of it.

(01:05):
I love me a musical, can't wait to check it out.
Are we going to get to see you show? After
singing voice? Well, listen, I'm gonna say this, um, missus,
George doesn't really have a song, but perhaps there's a
little a little singing, a little dancing, but it's not
it's not the showcase that like Girls Spies Eva. You know,

(01:26):
so if you really want to see me sing, you
gotta you gotta watch the TV show. Well, let's talk
about that because that so much fun too. And while
because we're talking of course about Girls at five Eva,
Peacock had not just decided to continue with it, so uh,
Netflix picked it up, blessing right list was that a surprise?

(01:47):
It was. It was actually like something that was happening
over a long period of time and actually took Peacock
to be participatory and you know, like everybody wanted to
make it happen, which was so great. And so yeah,
Netflix will have the first two seasons on their platform
starting sometime in the next couple of months, and then

(02:08):
we just started filming season three yesterday and that will
be exclusively on Netflix. But in case people haven't had
a chance to check it out, because I know, you know,
even some of my friends were like, I don't help people,
I'm like, okay, it's um it's The premise is a
sort of one hit wonder girl group from the nineties

(02:31):
that is attempting to make a comeback, but they're all
in their forties now, so it's just a very different,
differently on scape for them. And it's really fun. It's
from Tina Fey as well. Um, and Sarah Burrellis is
on the show with me and Rneale's Goldsberry and Paula

(02:53):
Pell and we really have a blast. I love it
so much. I've seen it. It is so funny. You're
very funny. And yeah, Sarah Brellas ironically wrote a musical herself,
so she's all about this space. And yeah, if you
haven't checked it out, check it out. It's it's so
so funny, very clever. Um, I want to talk about
you teaming up with Zu Lily to help everyone get

(03:14):
a head start on Mother's Day gift. So how does
this work? Well, I love it. Zu Lily is actually
a thing I've used since I became a mom almost
fifteen years ago, if you can believe it. But it's
like a great site that just offers like all kinds
of like discounts and daily deals and things. And I
have shopped for my kids clothes on there. I've shopped
for myself on there for homewhere, but they're doing this, um,

(03:37):
you know, for Almond's Gifting Advisor. So the link is
in my bio on my Instagram and between March ninth
and April eighteenth, you click the link and then you
don't have to be shopping, by the way, for a mom.
You could be just shopping for someone that you want
to give a little special shout out to who helps you,

(04:01):
you know, include step mom's aunts, a lot of people.
I mean truly, it does take a village, you know,
like that's why, that's why we say it so um,
but you answer like a couple of questions and they
give you this curated gift list. Even I did it, Mario,
and I did it for myself because I do feel
like a lot of moms to have to shop for

(04:23):
themselves on others day. Yeah, yes, unfortunately, you're right, So
that's great you can help people out right now. Well
right on, um, you mentioned you mentioned your kids earlier.
How old are the kids now? What are they up to? Well,
Birdie's fourteen, almost fifteen, and Cricket is nine, and they're great.

(04:43):
We're living in New York City now because we moved
from the West Coast for me to do Girls five
EVA here and they're like loving life. Um, they're they
were excited to have seasons for the first time, and
the last couple of years have been have been great.
But yeah, like Bertie's going into high school next year,

(05:04):
it's crazy. Wow, it really does go by fast, man,
I mean, no, two, I can't believe it, and it's
just yeah, thanks, Uh, well, we're all getting older. What
are you gonna do all getting older? I know, I know, busy.
You were part of two iconic coming of age shows,
Freaks and Geeks and Dawson's Creek, which is awesome. Which

(05:25):
one do you think would have a better shot at
a reunion or sequel? Oh my goodness, or even a
remake right, like with All New Kids. I think either
one would be amazing. I always thought Freaks and Geeks
would be cool because the original show took place in

(05:45):
nineteen eighty like nineteen seventy nine, nineteen eighties school year,
so it would be cool to do the future like
flash forward and it would still essentially be a period piece,
like you know, if we reprised our roles. Um, right,
But of course Seth Rogan is very busy with his

(06:06):
movies and as his Judd Apato and uh and John
Francis Daily is a big movie director now. And I
mean everybody on that show's kind of, you know, blown up.
I think Dawson's Creek could definitely be like a remake
with new Kids. Yeah, I just I remember the I

(06:27):
was like, damn, those are some articulate kids. That was
that dialogue. He's like, wow, very mature. Wait, Mario, can
I tell you something. I never watched the show before
I was cast on it, and I truly like was like,
why are they talking like I don't understand having teenagers
now like busy, because that's what the whole show is.

(06:48):
They talk like adults. Okay, so hey, it worked and
it resonated. Yeah exactly, I know. But like I have
to say, my fourteen year old now does talk like
an adult. So yeah, yeah, now they're yeah, you're right,
because my little girls same way. Right there. I feel
like I'm a conversation and arguing with a little version
of myself. Um uh, congratulations on everything you've got going on.

(07:12):
Listen everyone. Go to onland Maria dot com to learn
more about the For All Moms gifting Advisor Busy. Thanks
so much for taking the time. Thanks Maria, I have
a great one. Okay, you too, hope to see you
in person. Take care. Yeah, get your advice with Mario
