Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario a little bit. It's after on
Mario Lopez joining me back now on Zoom from the
Hills and New Beginnings. My man, Frankie Delgado and his
lovely wife Jennifer Delgado. How are you doing guys? Hi?
Hi Mario? What's so apparently? I got a schedule an
interview to hang with you? Guys? You treat me like
a neighbor's kid. You don't reach out, dang, Frankie, and
(00:23):
you keep having these parties at your house. I don't
get the invite anymore. No, I didn't have a party.
I haven't had a party with their parties and then cancelations. Yeah,
because the co he keeps eing movie these boxing parties. Party.
Oh yeah, No, I did invite you a couple of times.
They're just kind of low key get together. So I
gotta have her actual real party. But now that COVID's
essentially coming to an end, uh, we're gonna have to
(00:44):
turn up take it next level right there. But how's
the family doing? How the kids? The family is really good? Man? Um?
Where the kids are amazing? They My daughter just went
back to school a little a couple of months ago. Finally, um,
and she loves it because she was being super like.
You didn't know what to do here at the house
after after the whole year of pandemic. You know, yeah, no,
(01:06):
it gets It's tough, man. I'll tell you what. It's
keeping my kids busy. I suck as a teacher. I
realized I couldn't wait to get him out of the house.
And you, like me, have um parents that stay with
you too, right, Yes, my parents lived with me. See
I always say, that's how Mexican people do. We don't
put them in homes. We keep them, keep them with
(01:27):
us right there. And then we got built in Nanny's
so you can't. You can't go wrong right there in
my house as well. Until the end you got that
nine other two had her. You had her Jen You're
down with that, see right? Or die right there? How
do you like having all the familia right there? I love?
I mean I grew up in a family, a household
of ten, ten of us, so I mean not this
(01:49):
doesn't compare at all? Is that? How many brothers and
sisters do you have? I have there's six girls and
two boys. Come on, six girls and two boys. Wow,
I never knew that. Actually where do you fall four?
You're the fourth so you had to be like scrappy
and and fight for everything. Now, different world. Yeah, it was,
(02:10):
it was, It was. It was hard growing up with
that many siblings. It really was. I bet it in
this day and age. Good for you though. It makes
you tell you'll get it all. Yeah, that's a trip.
Oh that's cool. I never I never knew that. What
are the kids getting into these days? Our kids? Um,
they are They love broke Blow, they love YouTube block.
(02:31):
That's pretty much it. Yeah, the same page. They're like
toys here and there. But that's yeah, that's the main
thing of their life right now. I know. It's crazy.
Thank god for iPads, I'll tell you that. So let's talk.
The Hills were the middle of season two of New Beginnings.
What's been the center of the drama this season? What's
(02:51):
going on? Um? I think as a right now, you know,
every episode it just changes a little bit. But right
now where we at with uh, we're about to take
our first trip. We're about to take a first trip
to San Diego back home. Hey, al right, fun, where
(03:12):
did you go back there? Where where did you go
when you went back there? I definitely took them to
Tacles on Gordon, I'll tell you that little nice dice stop.
But the you know the drama there, I guess it's
it's been just bro brody. I guess brings a date.
That's right. He's singled now to this trip, and Caitlyn
(03:35):
is not taking it too well because she wants to
know when he's going to bring dates because they're they're
not divorced, so she wants to the heads up, like, Hey,
I'm gonna bring up dates on this trip. And he
didn't giving no heads up anymore. He said that they're
divorced and there's no need for any heads up. Wait,
so are they divorced? Are now divorced? They are, but
(03:55):
she wants she still wants explanations. Is she So she's
still on the show. Yeah, she's yeah, they're they're still
friends good as of today on the show? Yeah, yeah,
as it today. Oh that okay. That makes for interesting
um storylines and I'm sure a couple of awkward moments.
So who's this who's this new girl Caroline that joined
(04:17):
the cast this season, and how does she fitting in
with the group? So she was a friend of ours
from day one, like like before, like the show was
even on. She was always our friend. She became a
DJ and uh out here in l A. And she
was friends with best friends like Paris Hilting crowd and
all that since like she was an o gene per
(04:39):
se and then when when they brought her on the show,
you know she was it was easy for her to
get along with all of us because she kind of knew,
well she didn't know specifically me and Brotie. She was
homies with us all those years. Um, but she's she's
she's amazing. She's Caroline de Mori. So her last names
I don't know if she were heard hat had it
(05:00):
her pizza, but it is the Morris the Morris Pizza, Okay, yeah,
all right. She came up with her own sauce called
the Pizza Girl Sauce. And she's like a little entrepreneur man.
She's she's great and she's got a little girl too.
Her name is Abella's well, her little daughter. So she's
been right in there, nice, sweet, hardworking and pretty much
(05:22):
fit herself into the group pretty fast. Hardworking, single mom,
got it, got it well, you gotta respect that. And Jen,
how do you like? Um? Like all the dynamics right there,
at the show. Is it uh, is it kind of
trip you out with the drama or you or you
kind of you know, have fun with it, or what's
your approach going into it? It was a whole different
Like it was a new thing for me, So I
just kind of like tiptoed my way around everybody. But
(05:45):
now I think I'm a little more comfortable and I'm
friends with everybody. I get along with everybody. Um, I
just kind of go with the flow. Still, Um, not
so much drama, I think. Um, I mean, I'm with
my husband all the time. I do some girls nights hangouts,
but for the most part, I think, you know, I
(06:08):
keep it cool. Let me ask you something because my
wife was I was having this conversation with you. You
say you do some girls nights. What do you average
on girls nights? You got a couple of kids and
you're there, and what do you mean, Like do you say, like,
how often do you have a girl's night? Oh, it's
not too often, So when we have them, they're pretty coild.
So like, not not to be serious, but like what
once every other month or once a month maybe once.
(06:32):
I mean a lot of my friends have kids. It's
hard to get together, um once a month, once every
other month, and you guys did the dinner and the
whole thing, and you're and and Frankie, you're supportive of
that and cool and yeah mom needs a break, right
and and uh, I'm sure you probably actually set it up,
you know, as long as she likes because when she,
I mean her girls back. Honestly, it's not it's more
(06:54):
like specifically during the pandemic. It's more like they come over.
They she goes over to their house. That would us
of one or two. You know, it's it's it's nothing
like like what how she made it seem she's not
coming home all beats like shots and they're at the
bar and yeah, yeah, I know my wife. My wife
(07:16):
hid me the other day, I think. And I was like,
you know, I think I need a girl's eyes. Oh
really you do? Okay, Like where's this coming from? All
of a sudden kind of trick me out a little bit,
but I'm like, all right, but I know she's not
gonna be coming on all crazy. But I guess I
got it. Imagine like what voice not it is? What
is it's just a very different I think it's different, right,
it's not like, you know, they're they're talking about us
(07:40):
and all the negative stuff they can say, and then
they come home they got okay, alright, good that makes
me feel better. I like that. Hey, speaking of nightlife, Frankie,
obviously with the pandemic, uh, it hit that industry hard.
But you were pretty good about pivoting and doing other stuff.
But is it uh kind of getting back on track now?
(08:02):
Is are you still gonna get into it or did you?
Did it make you kind of change course? Um? You
know what, man, that the honest truth is that yesterday
me and my wife really had to sit down about
this and we were thinking about, like, you know what
I what I pivoted into in my marketing company, you know,
doing all the influencer marketing and putting brands with influencers
(08:22):
and stuff like that. That's been working out really well
and it's and it's amazing and it's great, but it's
it haven't taken to the level where like I could
actually like save a little money and put it in
the bank, you know, And so I need to figure
out when you when you really do the math right,
you gotta go and put yourself in a place where like, hey,
I have two kids. I want to send them to
(08:44):
private school throughout their lives. I wanna My dream was
to send them to USC at some point or U C.
L A or something where they can get in to
get their education. And I was doing the math, and
I need around half million dollars per per kids to
do that, right, it's ten I don't I don't even
send them to the expensive ones. It's just like Catholic schools.
(09:06):
It's ten months that they go to school at that
stag grand a month per kid, right, So when they
did the math, it's just through twelveth grade. It's a kid.
We're to fifty for both of them, which I kind
of want to have the third one, like you like
(09:27):
that that that that seems pretty awesome. How that's going.
I want to know that too. A lot. We'll get
to that. So I did all the math, and I
think that with the math being done, I think I
need to go into night life a couple more years
and really save that money and put in that with
the marketing company at the same time and hoping that
we have the show he was going or just to
(09:47):
see other entrepreneur ways to make other other sources of income.
UM and Hopefully the stock market keeps going and the
crypto market keeps going and I can save that money
for the kids. But I need to I need to
say it all for that school. Well, first of all,
very very smart of you to um break it down
(10:09):
and look at the long term plan and really assess
the finances and your situation. Is a lot of people
don't do that, So that's good. You're already ahead of
the game right there. Um, And you're right, there's no
there are no rules, so there's no reason why you
can't be able to kind of do it all, you know,
And if you've got a supportive of wife that gets it,
then then it's a win win situation all around. Man,
So I think you're gonna be just fine. That's a
(10:29):
cute little dog back there. What is that dog? Well?
Is that a golden doodle? Yeah? Al average it okay close.
Those dogs are like stuffed animals that come to life.
They get once a week rooming, which is just like
one of school. That's like another kid right now. Those
(10:51):
So yeah, it gets it's it gets expensive. But I
was what I was gonna say about this whole thing
is that Yeah, that that was a sit down, right
that was like me and my wife had to sit
down and really talk about it. Is because she has
to approve if I go back in tonight, and because
it's a really hard job on insurance, and you know
that I'm like have to be out and about and
and shaking hands and making sure that everybody's fine and
(11:13):
and and setting it all up. But I do want
to know how you did it with three kids, because
I need I need the secret of like, you know,
I wanted a bunch, but it's easier said than done sometimes,
And so the third one, we were able to squeeze
that one out. And now I can't imagine my life
without him. He's great, little little Santino, And uh, it's
(11:36):
once they come into your life, it's like it's hard
to imagine. I wow, I can't believe. You know, he
wasn't uh, he wasn't always here. And then when I
just went like this past weekend with just two of
my kids because my son had a wrestling tournament, he
wasn't with us, and it felt kind of weird not
having him. But he's a maniac, so we couldn't bring him. So, uh,
you know, we're real happy, But you're right, you're you're
smart to kind of think about well, the school and
(11:57):
if they get into classes and all that stuff, because
it all it does add up. And and it is
a different era where stuff is more expensive. We're in
here in l A and and everything's heightened. So it's
smart that you're thinking that way and not just being
careless about it. But um, hey man, good luck if
you're gonna get there, and I'm turning forward. You man
turned Ford you on Sunday Forty's Young Player. It is.
(12:18):
It is, but not a nightlife Yeah, but you look
young still, so that's good as long as you have
the energy night and if you think about it, right,
I gotta I gotta make mond so I'm fifty two
for my kids before I retire or whatever, so like
I can send him to the school. So that's what
That's why I started trying to freaking out yesterday and saying, like, no,
I really I really have to in nightlife. Yeah, you
(12:39):
know that's gonna be easy to like go back to it,
but I didn't really want to. My heart wasn't in
it anymore. But I think I gotta give it a
couple of years more of that since I'm still like
you said, I'm still young. Yeah, I gotta give it
some more years, more years. I think that's a good plan.
And I think people, because they've been cooped up for
the last year, there's gonna be a huge thirst of
people wanted to go out and have fun and spend Monday.
(13:01):
What you'll which, you'll benefit you man, So so good
luck with all that. Um Hey, one thing I wanted
to mention two. I like that song that you wrote
for your daughter on YouTube. You have like a little
Jason Moraslin going on right there? Did you like I
Actually I wrote it myself and wrote the music and
and pretty much did everything I I started writing it
before she was born, nice without knowing her. No, that
(13:24):
was good, man, That was that was adorable, very very cool.
Give you profits on that right there? All right, listen
before I let you guys go and put you on
the spot. Quick questions, quick answers. All right, what are
you currently watching on TV right now that you recommend?
Remember last time we spoke, Frankie, you were like watching everything.
I watched everything, anything on Athleix or what's one show? Then?
(13:46):
What's one show you recommend right now? I mean I'm
watching a really old show right now, Roswell, Roswell. Okay,
I was actually there, not too u in actual Roswell
in New Mexico. Yeah, okay, all right, Roswell. We'll go
with that. What am I watching? Oh? You know what?
I am watching The Baker, The Baker Show, All Beauty
(14:09):
and the Baker, Beauty and the Baker. I've been watching
this show. I think it's great. Oh good, good, Yeah,
I've been it kind of. They canceled it on ABC,
but then on that Netflix had got like New Life.
I think I was in the first episode, actually didn't yea, yeah, yeah,
I watched at midnight. Want something? Yeah, all right? What up? Like?
(14:33):
What song has been stuck in your head recently? Like
what you've been viving too recently? Oh? My goodness, the
new Marshallow song with Jo's brother. Okay, I love you
like I know that song we Leave before you Leave,
Before you love Me. It's such a good song. And
I'm not not because he's my boy or whatever, but
(14:55):
that song is like has been. I've known about the
song for a while. Um so I've been playing it
in my car since since six months ago, and I
still played and when it came out they performed the
other day at the Billboard Works Billboard Billboard. Yea performed
it there and it was kind of cool to see
it finally with the Jonas brothers Yea the person who
(15:16):
wrote it. And last question, who is your celebrity crush
growing up? Anyone from like growing up? That was like
New Kids on the Block. You're not that old, jan
New Kids on the Block was when I was a
little kid. Yeah, yeah, growing out? Did you like that?
So when you're a little kid, Okay, you're a blackhead,
(15:38):
all right about you franky, really old, but we don't
want to know like who it is like a couple
of years ago, down kidding, who do I have to fight? Um,
I don't know. I guess I don't know when you
were a kid full like when you're a junior, hig
(16:00):
tell me, yeah, I don't. I didn't have like a
like a slipper. But like let's pretend, like who was
the girls that we watched? You know? Kid? They like
to pain up there you go to peg a lot
of there. You go like to peg to Pega with
the long hair. I think you would like lima kind
of like girl like, yeah, I think you did, because yeah,
(16:25):
has a little look like Jan as well, So like,
if that's the case, I'm not gonna like get upset here.
And that was a good That was a good that
was a good husband answer. Right there. I guess we're
gonna leave it at that right there. Meanwhile, y'all watch
The Hills New Beginnings. It airs Wednesdays on MTV. Frankie, Jen,
(16:45):
thanks so much for hanging out. Hopefully we'll see you
guys in person much. Yeah, all right, I'll talk to
