Speaker 1 (00:01):
Mario Lopez l Marto Lopez joining me now on Zoom
one of the judges from America's Got Talent, Heidi Clue.
Welcome to the show, Hidie, how are you hello? Thanks
for having me. Oh so nice to see you. First off,
I saw pics of you over at Concella. What was
your favorite part? Um, Well, it was my very first
time going to Coachella and I saw one of my

(00:23):
absolute favorite DJs, which is a Disclosure. So that's the
most epic moment for me. I mean, I saw Harry
Styles and they were you know, um Billie Eilish, we saw.
It's a lot of running around, a lot of blisters
on my feet to prove it. But I saw Disclosure
and I was like, oh my gosh, here they are.
It was just so fun. So you enjoyed the experience.
Would you do it again? I will do it again. Yeah,

(00:45):
I mean I do. I love a burning Man person.
I have to say I love burning Man art and
I love you know, it's a different kind of festival.
It's more like an art festival. There's still a lot
of influence of music and a lot of E d
M and a lot of DJ. A is my friend
Diplo is there. It's like a lot of fun. But
you know, this is definitely coach other. It's really really

(01:06):
packed and a lot of paparazzi there, so it's very different.
You know. Burning Man is a little bit more. I
don't know. You're out in the desert and you write
your bicycle for miles and miles and miles, and then
you see this amazing art installation. So that is more like,
you know, I love I love that. Yeah, a lot
of fun substances running around there too. I like that too.

(01:27):
I don't know. Good answer. Um, you got a new
song with Snoop try t with Heidi. That's a cool title.
How did this collab come about? Well, so for my
seventeen season of my German show, Germany's Next Top Model,
which is Tyra's show, you know, America's Next Top Model
in German, so this is the German version and for

(01:49):
seventeen years I've been doing this and so for this
season they asked me to do the theme song. I
was like, yes, that's funny, that's great. Not asked me
twice I want to do this, but I said, be
I can do this with someone who can actually sing,
and they were like, well, who would that be? Who
would you want? You know? I'm like, well, my ultimate
favorite here would be Snoop Dogg because I love hip hop.

(02:10):
I love him. He is just such an icon and
I would just love to do it with him. And
they were like, okay, so let's see. You know, do
you know him? How can you do this? So I
just literally called him up and he said, yeah, you know,
just come down to Englewood and we work on something.
So but then there was some time in between, so
my husband prepared a song already. I went there. He

(02:31):
listened to it and he was like bopping along and
he was like, you know, this is really cool. So
he immediately went into the vocal booth wrapped over it
and then he said to me, you know, let me
work on it for like a day or two, and
then I'm gonna send you some more stuff. And he
did and it boomed. There it was. It was literally
like that within three days, and at this song it

(02:51):
was crazy. That's awesome. Didn't inspire you to want to
make more music in the future. I mean, it's definitely
not my path. I love listening to music. I mean,
who knows, maybe there will be another odd scenario like this,
you know, I was not looking for, Yeah, this is
my next career. I mean, I'm gonna be fifty, not
that you can started at fifty, but I don't know,

(03:12):
I never really thought of it like that. I've done
saying things with you know, my husband, we we did
something together, or my Golden Buzzer self from America's Got Talent,
you know, they we did like a special Christmas thing
for a g T and they asked me to sing
with him. So whenever there is like an opportunity, you know,
I always love to do something different and from my

(03:33):
daily regular what I normally do, so why not. But
it's not like in my stars to do this kind
of thing, you know. So it was just like a
fun thing and I enjoyed it so much, and stoop
Dog was the best, and we even got to do
a video together, and I mean, you know him, He's
is just so much fun and yeah, so much fun
doing it. And I love E d M and I

(03:54):
love dancing, so I feel like this is such a
fun dance track. I love that you're so open to
doing so many different things. As I always say, you're
never too old to try something new and you live
that you're busier than ever and you mentioned you're about
to hit the fifth level. I'm right there behind you. Um,
you look incredible. UM. So yeah, so God bless you
on that. Um. Your show Making the Cut just renewed

(04:15):
for season three at Aton. Well what do you look
for when you're casting that? Um to just find someone
new again, you know. And you know, people always say
doesn't it get old to like, you know, do all
these different castings and doing all this stuff, And I'm
like no, because here you are have you know, so
I'm making the cut. You know, we're looking for the
next great global brand, so we're looking for a designer.

(04:37):
So here I have ten really eager designers. Their eyes
are glistening, they're so so when you sit there and
you talk to these people, they give you so much
energy and just their story and then you see what
they create in a day. It's like it never gets boring,
you know, because it's so beautiful what they create. And
I just love creative people in any case, So this

(04:59):
is so up my alley. And you know, having done
Project Runway also for seventeen years with you know, Tim Gunn,
my TV husband, you know, now we get to do
it on Amazon and people can actually then buy the
look that got created, you know, the winning look that
you know we love the most is immediately sold on
Amazon Fashion. So it's amazing for also, you know, the

(05:22):
fans of the show that get to buy it, and
it's amazing for the designers because finally, you know, it's
full circle. Before people were designing things, but no one
could ever get it. So I was like, what's the point.
You know, people see it, they love it, they can't
have it, and now they can. So we have ten
amazing designers from around the world, we get seen around
the world, and um, yeah, it's it's it's been a

(05:45):
lot of fun. I got to shoot it again with
Nicole Ritchie and with Jeremy Scott, who was, you know,
such an amazing designer. He designed for Mosquito and many
other different things, and it's just it was a very
fun season. So that's coming out again this summer. You've
been so incredibly busy now for for so long. It's
like you got the Midas touch keeping these shows going seventeen.
I'm a Gemini. That's two of me, you know, so

(06:07):
one is always going somewhere, the other one is at
home with Gosh. I want to be a Gemini. I
wanna be able to do that. Um as far as
a g T. The new season is premiering May thirty one.
Have you started filming yet. Yes, we filmed already all
the auditions. So we went Pasadena for the last three weeks,
which was incredible. So we're there from morning tonight. People

(06:29):
are lined up. We see everyone in anyone, you know, ventriloquist, comedians, aerialists, singers, musicians,
some people. I have no idea what it is actually
putting past auditions are always the most fun. I mean,
I've I've done go to yoga for the first time.
Literally there was someone coming in with like ten goats
and right lama support animals for the goats. I mean,

(06:54):
it's like baza what people do. But I'm so open
minded and I'm like, bring it on. The weird of
the better. I didn't eat in contest with someone, which
was kind of strange and never done that either. I
shoved like five devil eggs down and then sho she
was the next course. I was like, please with my mouth.
So someone pushed the buzzers, you know, get me out

(07:15):
of this, because this was like I mean, have you
ever shoved in five double eggs? Like he ate like
twenty in that time. I mean, it's crazy what people do.
It is crazy. You think you've seen it all and
then here it comes, and then there is someone in
front of you doing something yet again where you're like
what they think. That's a lot of crazy danger acts too,

(07:35):
you know, where I'm like, wow, you know, people do
wild things. There was one guy he had like a
gigantic weight and he had these hooks and he put
them in the sockets the bottom socket of his eye
and was hanging by the bottom sockets of his eye
dangling these weights around. He stuff where you're like just
hearing it. Yeah, oh my god. Fun because every act

(07:59):
is always differ it. You know, it's not just one genre.
You know, it's a variety show and that's what makes
it most fun. I feel like there's always something there
for anyone. You know, great family viewing right there. Um,
you're you're also part of this new Skims campaign, which
I want to tell you fitness game has always been
on point. How do you like to stay active? How
do you what do you do as far as workout routines.

(08:20):
I mean, it's just living for me, you know, just
going slapping myself to all these different places, you know,
trying on clothes. Sometimes I have like day after day
after day like that, trying our clothes a workout that
it sounds like really dumb. But for example, when I
do a g T and I'm very prepared because I
shoot three shows a year and each show usually needs
like I don't know, forty Sometimes my German show we

(08:43):
film about like four days for one episode because one
episode is two hours long. We do seventeen episodes, oh
my gosh, being the finale in Germany. So sometimes I
do a day we have to do like forty five
looks for example, So you squeeze yourself in the pants,
off the pants, in the jacket, off the jacket, and
she was obviously, so it's like on up. I know

(09:03):
it sounds, but literally I'm like trying on I don't know,
fifty pairs of bands, all these different dresses. Then it's like,
you know, it's sometimes it is kind of like a workout.
Having four kids as a workout, you know, absolutely what
It's like, how how old are the kids now? So
my oldest is turning eighteen next week. She just had

(09:24):
into her most favorite um school, so she will be
going off to college. So this is my first bird
flying out of the next. Yeah. And then my son's
sixteen fifteen, and then lou is my youngest, she's twelve.
So they're all kind of like into learning how to drive.
And Lou my youngest, is really into singing. Now she's

(09:46):
playing the piano ukulele. So they all have their frentures,
so it's like having them all being everywhere at the
right time, different schools. I mean, you know, ma'am, you
got a lot on your play and you we don't
want it any other way. No, I love the chaos
just like you, and and it's awesome to see you
be able to balance it all as well as being

(10:07):
a mom. So congratulations. It's always great to see you, Heidi.
And listen, you gotta check out chi te with Heidi.
It's a banger. As the kids would say on II
Radio America, I'm not guys got a talent of course,
premieres on mayt. Heidi, thanks so much for checking in.
Thank you. Actually, my kids said I'm gonna goat. Your
kids said you're going oh yeah, the goat greatest of

(10:28):
all time? Yes, Now, after I did this look dark
thing that like, mom, you go Mom's goat. That's a compliment.
Learned all this new lingo, but apparently this is a
good thing. It is that one of your kids washing
the window back there. I just noticed somebody's watt. So
if somebody looks like they're cleaning something, but it's not

(10:48):
my kids, it should be in school. Okay, great to
see you, Howdi, Thank you so much for your time
with Mario. A little bit
