Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario a little bit. It's up you.
Morial Lopez joining me down on zoom. From the new
Peacock movie The Housewives of the North Pole. Actress is
Kyle Richards and Betsy Brant. Welcome to the show, ladies.
How are you here, Mario? Well, nice to see you.
Nice to see two. Congratulations on the movie. I love
the title. It's tremendous, The Housewives of the North Pole.

(00:23):
That makes me literally laugh out loud. What what is
the premise here? Well, even want to start, Betsy, Yeah,
it's um. There's a little town called North Pole, Vermont,
and it's this may shock you. It's a very Christmas town.
And these two best friends go over and above for Christmas.
Every year they win this contest, this decorating contest. They

(00:46):
have a falling out this season and start of pups
in there after there's some drama and um, they end
up going toe to toe in competing about competing over
this contest, winning this contest, and the whole town knows about.
It's a small town. News travels fast, everybody's involved, everybody's

(01:06):
weighing in. Um, and it's still very cute and charming
and funny. It is cute. Now is does North Pole,
Vermont really exist? I'm so happy so that Mario. I
did not know that on the set. Yes, it's a
real place, and I really did not know that. I
only thought there were the like elves. Yeah, I literally

(01:27):
didn't know that. So we were not the only ones that.
Don't worry. I love my I've recently I've recently learned
there's like a Christmas Indiana. There is a Mistletoe Illinois.
There is a whole plethora of cities named I did

(01:47):
not know North Pole, Vermont. I'm mad at myself because
I thought I had this base on lock. But congratulation.
That is great, very very clever. Um. I'm assuming you
shot it in actual North Pole or no, did something
else substituted. We We decided to shoot it in Utah
in July. We wanted to work those beautif we were

(02:11):
filming in Utah with ninety five degree weather, but they
it felt like we're in Christmas because we had the
fake snow and the decoration over the top, and our
director was playing Christmas music between takes, so you really
felt like you're in the experience. Oh that's great, Good
for you. Yeah, Utah's beautiful there. And and what are
your what are your ladies plans for for Christmas? Are

(02:33):
you staying in town, You're traveling. I'm staying in town.
I'm so excited to be staying in town. And just
I'm doing it, doing it all seeing people, like we
can be with people and you know again, and I
can't wait. I'm going to bake myself silly already. Am
Like we're making gingerbread houses. We're doing all of that.
By the way, those are so messy, but you have
fun with that. Well, we love to go scheme, but

(02:57):
you know, probably home for Christmas and then you know,
we're organized in our skiing plans soon, so we always
have to get in our ski Yeah, oh your big skier. Okay,
because you're an illegal naturally right and raised in l A.
But we live actually part time in Colorado. Actually okay. Um, well,
what's the biggest difference do you think when it comes

(03:18):
to filming Kyle between like say, Ultimate Girls Trip in
the flagship Housewives show. Oh, it's just a couple so different.
I mean, um, the style of you know, I'm not
used to having cameras in every corner of the room.
Many times. We forget about the cameras. Absolutely no downtime. Um,
we did seven episodes and eight days. I mean that's

(03:40):
a lot of footage being used. So I just completely
it was shot like Big Brother style. I have never
seen brick Father, but that's what everyone told me because
the cameras everywhere so very different. It's like espionage with
all the different cameras right there. And Uh, Betsy also
in the works for you a rom com called The Valet.
It already sounds funny by that title. What what can

(04:00):
you tell us about that? Oh my god, it was
so fun We just um did some pickup shots for that.
I it's a blast. It's a blast. It's um, you
had your Derbez who is I think we're the funniest
act isn't he great? It's just the last guy. He's
so good in this. Um, I play opposite Max Greenfield,

(04:22):
who the good guy. Yeah, just like we we had
a blast. It was great. It's a really, really really
great little flick. Oh awesome. Yeah, we have those guys
on the show all the time. Uh, Kyle, I want
to ask you about Paris Hilton's wedding. What what I
can only imagine this wedding. What what was the most
extravagant part about it for you? You think? I mean, obviously,

(04:44):
the actual ceremony was, you know, beautiful and over the top,
and she I actually took my wedding photos at the
Hilton House to where it was her grandfather's home. But um,
I think, you know, I mean, everything was extravagant, over
the top. But the most unique thing was the fact
that there was three days and the second night she
did a neon carnival party and she took over the

(05:05):
Santa Monica Pier as we do. It's traditional exactly wedding,
you know, like me on night the second right night,
and I never I never thought i'd make it to
that night, and I actually did. And I had so
much fun with my husband, all of our kids, and
it was crazy fun. But yeah, it was of course,
you know, classic Paris style. No, everything was unexpected, next level.

(05:28):
Oh my gosh. Um, speaking of weddings, your daughter there
is engaged. Congratulations. Are you are you really involved in
the wedding? Are you letting it? Is it a collaborative
thing or she kind of playing quarterback and doing her
own things. I mean, we'll keep asking me, Am I
really involved, and I'm not supposed to because I thought
it was my job to do all of this. Yeah,
that's what I thought. That was one of the joys.

(05:49):
I feel like it's a choice. I'm like I thought
I was taking over here. No, I mean, obviously I'm
gonna let her way in. She out of ten decisions,
she'll get why obviously, because it's our big day. No. Um, honestly, Um,
we haven't started planning yet because she uh just got
engaged and we needed to let the dust settle from

(06:09):
Paris's out wedding the fairy dust. But now we'll start planning,
and obviously, you know, it'll be, you know, whatever she wants,
and I will just I probably execute it and just
enjoy the time I have with their planning. Will there
be a Neon carnival involved? Well, Mom, that's definitely not
my daughter's. That's not in her There will be a

(06:33):
new Incarnibal brunch on Sunday at the Abbe sure. Yeah. Yes.
What about New Year's plans? Ladies? Do what do we
have plans for New Year's? Oh? I can't stand New Years.
I called the amateur night. I have to definite. We're
all on the We're all on the same page. Now, Um,

(06:55):
I now look forward and now I have to work
like New Year's Day early, whereas before. That's how you
know you're getting Okay, I used to do all the
New Year's Eve things, but now I'm starting to do
things on New Year's Day, which means I have to
go to bed early on New Year's And I'm excited
about that because we're planning to play games in karaoke
at home, um, and just cook and relax like that

(07:16):
point we we might, you know, it's it's always inside
either with maybe like one other family, but like Lasa Champagne, Yeah,
classes Champagne, Pj's like we keep it, we keep it. Okay,
that sounds like a dream. Sounds good. You might you
might have to have another another viewing of the house
as a north pole, just to make sure. What is

(07:37):
so excited for people to see it? It's such a happy,
feel good movie. People will cry, they will laugh, and
they're gonna leave feeling just ready for the holidays. And
in the spirit, we're really excited to share it with them.
It's really street. Yeah, it sounds like that. Well, congratulations
against odd ladies, and and be sure to check out
the Housewives of the North Pole out now on Peacock Kyle, Betsy,
